Void-Kamihomins
Galactic Conservation Status Rank
GX - Presumed Extinct (species)— Not located despite intensive searches and virtually no likelihood of rediscovery. Eliminated throughout its range, with no restoration potential due to extinction of dominant or characteristic species.
Galaxy
Aquarius Dwarf
Planet
Homino
Biology
The species evolved from aquatic creatures, their unique appearance is reflected in their tall shape, black coated eyes, near translucent skin, and long necks. They also have unique peculiarities in their physiology: digitigrades and slender legs, and protruding ridges along the neck line and facial features. Kamihomins matured quickly, reaching full adulthood at 11 years and remaining at their adult physical prime until roughly the age of 900 when they start to show signs of their age.
Weakness
Void-Kamihomins are predisposed to regenerating their life energy through a self-induce stasis of hibernation that can last several days. This stasis is similar to the human need to sleep, except for Void-Kamihomins the period of rest is needed every 3 months.
Special Powers
Biological Manipulation – the ability to control all aspects of a living creature’s biological make-up. This includes, but is not limited to, generic alterations, physical distortion/augmentations, healing, disease, and biological functions.
History
After a devastating meteor impacted the planet Homino, Kamihomin society was pushed to the brink of extinction. The higher spheres of society believed only through the development and mastery of genetic manipulation and cloning can their species survive. The selective breeding era begun, and the impact of their harsh adaptations produced heavy marks on the new generation. Though they took great pride in their scientific breakthroughs, Kamihomins give little thought to the ethics or the consequences of their work.
When the Kamihomins first started experimenting on their genome, they produced 10 specimens, six of which did not survive incubation. However, after twenty-five years perfecting their skills, the Kamihomins realized one batch of the four cloned specimens, which they then classified as “Void”, were far too independent and unpredictable to be part of the well-ordered society they’ve become.
The class distinction between Void-Kamihomin and Valid-Kamihomin could be determined by the color of the Kamihomin’s eyes. The highest-level caste members in Kamihomin society had colorless eyes, the middle classes had opal eyes, and the lower classes had pink colored eyes. Kamihomins born with black eyes were viewed as threats to the Kamihomin well-ordered society. At first only those that did not fit the mold or showed any deviant behavior were exterminated; the Kamihomins would later terminate any Void-Kaminhomin.
Void-Kamihomins tried to escape and fled their home planet, seeking asylum in neighboring worlds. Only a handful of them escaped the genocide and now live in secret, avoiding bounty hunters and mercenaries who sought after them for the prize on their heads. Valid-Kamihomins prejudice and intolerance toward the Voids goes beyond a simple error in their scientific breakthroughs, and as long as one exists they can never be the perfect species they’ve designed themselves to be.
