Introduction
Every werewolf has a mate. Most go their whole lives without ever finding that one person who makes them whole.
Plot
But one pack, was stupid. They underestimated the power of a witch and chased her down, wanting her to lift their curse. Little did they know that this witch was more powerful than she seemed. She laughed at them and with a single incantation, set their fate in stone. She’d seen that none of them had mates, and knowing that almost all werewolves die without finding their mates, planned out a curse for which to set on these wolves. They had one year. One year to find the one whom they could smell from a mile away. Whose heartbeat they could hear from a distance. The one who could make their blood boil and their baser instincts rise. The one who they would truly love. But they also had to gain the love of this person and mark them as their own. They had a single year to find this person and bite them, spreading their lycanthropy.

Jumping back to reality, she caught Jenson's words. Looking over at the same guy, she sighed. Jenson felt something weird coming from him too. Torrie wasn't sure if she was sensing that he was her mate, Jenson's mate, or Danielle's mate. sighing, she whispered back, " I know what you mean. Something about him is unsettling. Plus he made a fool out of himself with that move of tipping over the tip jar. Nice joke by the way, real original." She made this quiet speech while devouring her muffin. After Jenson's silence she realized that her comment might have been harsh. "Sorry, I'm just tense about this whole thing and you know me, I think this is going to be pointless. How are we going to make a complete stranger love us and be willing to become a monster. I don't know if you wereborns know how it is to go from being human to being a werewolf. To humans werewolves are monsters. I just don't see someone deciding to be a werewolf, especially for me."
She glanced back at him once more, and her uneasy feeling returned. It was so weird. She wondered what it could mean, and how it would feel like when she met her mate.

(I was feeling creative so i added onto Megan's fear. Now it's easy to find out why she wont play in front of people.

A memory coursed through her mind, and she shut her eyes, willing it to go away. She set her hands on the keys and began to play a different song, but this one, brought tears to her eyes. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

As soon as every single unit of money was put back in the jar, Zachary opened his wallet and paid for the cookies as quickly as humanly possible. He even threw a five into the tip jar, it being the least he could do for knocking it over. Glancing over at the girl that helped him gather the coins (what was her name- Jenson!), he picked up his things and was about to walk out when his conscience caught up with him. Jenson had helped him during a very embarrassing time and he was just going to walk out on her? Who was he, his sister?
Sighing deeply, Zachary walked over to the table Jenson and her friend were sitting at. "Uh, hey, thank you for helping me back there," he said quietly, laughing nervously and turning red again. Damian stopped at his tracks. He looked from side to side before changing his direction. Without even realizing he was standing in front of a fence. Damian easily jumped over before slipping inside the building. As he trotted around the empty halls, he can hear the sound of piano playing. He stopped, listening for a second before walking closer towards the room where the sound was coming from. He stopped, just outside the door, hiding himself and just listening.

Jenson was about to answer her when Zachary approached their table, she wasn't really expecting it. She looked at him while he spoke and chuckled along with him, waving her hand casually. "Oh, it was no big deal. Stuff like that happens to me all the time." She said smiling up at him. "I'm sortof a clutz." She added, blushing a bit herself. Why was she just throwing out random facts about herself? She sighed and pushed away the idea of continuing to ramble before she remembered the fact that she hadn't introduced herself. "I'm Jenson by the way." She said, extending her hand for him to shake. She was grinning a dazzling smile, showing her perfect straight teeth, waiting for him to respond.

Megan wiped away a tear after one fell onto her hand. She sighed, standing to her feet, looking out at the old, dusty auditorium. She looked up at a window where the glass had fallen in. She walked up to a boarded window and pulled hard, removing some of the wooden planks.

The wolf watched silently before shifting back. With a small sigh, he stepped out from hiding with his hands in hi pocket. "You're sad.... why?" he asked tilting his head as she pulled off the wood planks off the window. He leaned against the old walls and stared at her. There was a moment of silence before he spoke again. "I... uh... my name's Damian.. just thought you should know." He glanced at the girl once more, before staring down at the ground. "I.. just happened to walk by." he lied.

Megan whirled around, her eyes wide. "I...um...I'm Megan." Realization hit her and she looked at him. "I...I remember you, from the grill." She tried to stop her shaking.

Damian stared at her for a moment before answering, "Was I not supposed to?" he asked tilting his head. He sighed, "But lets just put it this way.. I wasnt myself when I heard yo play." he said without moving from his spot. "I'm assuming you dont like it when someone hears you play." he said looking at the piano.

She smiled a little. "Is it that obvious?" She walked toward the piano. "that's why i come here. It's quiet, secluded. No one really ever comes here. She ran her hand over the piano, before looking back up at him.

Damian nodded, "Yeah.. kind of." he answered reflecting her smile. "But.. why not? You play beautifully... why hide your talent from everyone?" he asked walking over to the piano. Damian looked at her for a brief second before looking down at the piano keys.

Normaly she was pretty quiet, and slightly hostile, but she was being suprisingly open towards this stranger.

Noticing that the guy hadn't looked at her at all, she felt a sensation she couldn't put a name to. She hadn't felt that in a long time, but what was it? It was a real emotion, one that she couldn't recall ever feeling before. Her heart pounded as she felt herself become significant again, as if being ignored by this stranger, made her want to be more noticed. 'Strange thing', She thought to herself. She finally decided that she wouldn't offer her name, that is unless the strange guy asked for it. For some reason, she liked this guy. Normally clumsy guys made her feel all annoyed and frustrated. She decided that she wanted to be friends with him. But she didn't want him to be forced her. Thankfully in this realization she felt that he wasn't her mate, at least to her best knowledge.
Secretly she didn't want to know for sure.She didn't care if she survived , just her packmates. Her logic was this, if she bonded with a guy, and her friend liked that same guy, she wouldn't let her own emotions getting the way. So she sat there and stared at him like she wanted to be his friend, but she didn't know what her eyes were saying.

He held her hand in his. Probably a second longer then he should have but the feel of her skin was intense and electrifying. He let go with great effort. He smiled looking into her eyes. Its surprising to him how much hes smiling. He felt like an idiot. He just couldnt help it. He smiled even more when she said she like his name. " Well im glad you like it" he stretched his neck slowly. "Mina is a very beautiful name as well." He looked down at his computer as he scratched his head. "Listen i get off in an hour. Do you want to get a bite to eat? With me?"

She and Chikane had a wonderful night. Between eating pizza and telling stories they were the silliest girls ever. Afterwards though Shiro wanted to do more. Swimming would be fun she mused but in some ways she wanted to do something different and fun. Chikane's joy at the present had stirred her own recent lengths of happiness. She pulled on her running tank top and shorts, putting her swimsuit underneath and squealed excited. "Ara! I'm ready! Train for cross country, go by the lake a little and swim! Go go!" She started off slow then built up pleased with the pace she set. It was always a good day if she set out to run. She could remember going cross country with it only once until she got hurt and quit the league. She still took to training and got better but she wouldn't be able to push it at the speeds she could before. Humming to herself she jogged up upon the lake. "Yay! Water! Pretty water!" She ran down giggling like a little girl. She stopped at the waters edge watching it retract and she grinned. "Cool. Looks cold though. Bet you can take it Shiro? Why yes! Of course my little inside girly girl!" She laughed and looked around getting ready to jump in but she stopped her gaze finding a male in the vicinity. "Ara it seems I'm not, who is that?" She watched a man up on the hill and tilted her head curiously. "Well well seems I'm not the only one out and about. Should I introduce myself, or just go ahead and swim?" She glanced between the two choices and sighed indecision prominent.

"Alright then well like i said i get off work in about an hour so if you wanna hang around while i finish up here" he trailed off looking behind her seeing a line of people. "ah well they have been patient havent they?" he smiled at her again. "Ill find you and then we can head out," he smiled and ran his hands thru his hair. "Mina."

Zachary gently took Jenson's hand in his own and shook it lightly, smiling. "I'm Zachary, but feel free to call me Zach," he said quietly to disguise the small bit of disappointment he felt. This conversation had the beginnings of a full blown discussion, and he was already itching to get back to his Xbox. I must become the SUPREME LORD OF DEATH AND BLOOD... Zach thought quietly when his phone went off.
Jumping in surprise (again), Zach set the bag of cookies down on the table and searched frantically in his pockets for his cell. Once he had located it, he brought it to his ear, not having bothered to check who was calling him. "Hello?"
"Zacky! It's your brother! You didn't answer my call before, so I thought I'd check in on you to make sure you weren't dying on the side of the road or something-
"You have a hyperactive imagination, Vixen. Chill out."
"But you're my little brother! I'm supposed to protect you!"
"You're in Vegas. How the hell do you plan on protecting me from there?"
"I have my ways..." Vixen giggled to himself.
"Right. Look, I gotta go. I need to finish the game you MADE ME LOSE BEFORE."
"It would do you good to get some fresh air every once in a while, Zach. You worry me. But, I'll let you go. Charles says hi!"

Out of the corner of his eye, Zach saw Jenson's friend slouch in what appeared to be defeat. Her annoyance toward him seemed to have melted away, and she was almost...vulnerable. Despite the screaming of his hands to go back home and finish that game, he put out his right hand and said as nicely as he could, "I'm Zach. You are...?" Maybe she wouldn't hate him as much if he showed a bit of friendliness.
