Katy got out of her apartment, it was around 11:45pm. It was a cool night so se had a jacket. She went down the street not caring to take te bus, She doesn't need to. She saw that, tonight there was a big party at the bar, unfortionutly she had to pass right past it. When she was walking past the bar she saw drunks coming out of it, She just hatted drunks, the have no purpose to be here if they just want to be drunk all night long and lose brain cells.

When she got down to the poor section, waiting to see if anyone would come out and look for money. She likes helping people alot, mostly if theyare poor to help them get by in live and not starve, to death. Most people would think she's weird helping out poor souls but is the least we could do for them, even thugh they may not be any help to us, in any other way but it's stil nice t help people out once in a while.

Nathanial was out scouting for his new target. He had hidden himself away in the dark corner of a street. A single street light shone down on him and he fit his disguise well. He had his ball cap at his feet before him and his normal well shaven appearance was dirt streaked and he had the shadow of a beard appearing. His hazel eyes scanned the surrounding street and he leaned back against the brick wall of the dilapidated building and let out a sigh. There were a few shadows in sight, the soft movements of the homeless as they scrounged the streets. He could hear the occasional cough from the sick but still could not see his target. He frowned a little and looked up at the night sky, there wasn’t a star in sky as the lights of the city drowned them out.

He had been on this stake out for a while now but to no avail, maybe his information was wrong. Nathanial scratched his jaw and he stretched his legs out. Maybe he would meet another homeless friend tonight, they were interesting to talk to once you got past the smell. He wrinkled his nose at the thought of the smell and sniffed himself. Yup, he too needed a shower. He grumbled softly to himself and settled into his spot and waited.

Brooklyn huddled deeper into her jacket as she continued to walk quickly, in a hurry to get home. She had been at a friend's house, and the quickest way to get home was through the poor part of town. Normally she would take a longer route back to her own home, she didn't like seeing all the people and not being able to help, (well...she could, but how? She can't just give them money, they might spend it on drugs or something) but she didn't have a car and it was cold out. "Three more blocks. Then I'll be in my neighborhood...." she muttered to herself.

Nathanial looked up and spotted a woman who seemed to be in a bit of a rush. He tilted his head and watched her a bit curious, he wandered why someone that looked like her would be walking through this part of town. He couldn’t help but notice she looked a little cold, he looked down as she passed him and smiled when she heard her speak. He cleared his throat and then stood and flipped his cap onto his head. He looked at the woman and then back at the street and shrugged, he would find his target another night. He cleared his throat again this time loud enough for the woman to hear. He held out his stinky sweater and said “You look a little cold ma’am.” He gave her a soft smile and said “It smells a little gross but hey its better than nothing.”

Shaun looked down onto the hunter, under a street light he stood. He must have thought the orange glow went well on his clothes. Shaun knew he had tried to take out people like him before, well not like him but different. Different from normal people. Knowing he would kill him without a second thought Shaun was thinking about how to talk to the guy.

Shaun stepped off the top of the hotel he saw stood on and caught himself with his ability, one surge around his chest and two around both his legs. As he stopped himself from splatting on the pavement his feet touched the ground and he was across the road from the hunter and a girl he was talking too. She seemed nice enough for him not to be a douche to.

Shaun walked across the road towards the hunter as he wrapped a Telekinetic force around himself. Reaching him and her he raised his voice to be heard by them both. "So your the hunter with the bow I'm guessing?" As he spoke he strengthened the Telekinetic force around himself to act as a shield.

Brooklyn looks up when she heard someone clearing his thought. She smiled a little at him when he offered her the sweater, but noticed he doesn't have a jacket. "Are you sure? You don't have a coat," she pointed out. She would feel bad if someone went cold because of her. She also can't help but think about the fact that she doesn't have any idea who he is. He could be some murderer or rapist or something. But she has a phone. She could call someone if he was some creep. When the guy asked about the hunter, she had no clue what he was talking about. She dismissed him as being crazy. Or on drugs.

Sonya wept over the grave of her lost love. She had every right to cry. It was the first time she'd cried in over 7 years. When he died, she became more angry, more violent, more distant from the world, but she did not cry. No, she was much too emotionally hardened to cry. Her parents left her on her own with her half brother when she was only 7, and she had raised him and paid for his food and water by fighting on the streets. And then Jacob came along. He fixed everything. And as soon as everything was fixed, and she allowed her walls to come down and she fell in love, he disapeared. And now she cried over his grave, alone in the cemetary.

Simon knew something was wrong. He sensed it. Although it was dangerous, he contemplated changing into a black panther and rushing to find his sister. But would it be worth the danger? Probaly not. He doubted she was hurt or in any type of trouble. She was 18, she could take care of herself. But...what if she had drank until she was sick again? What if she was in a street fight? She's alright, he thought, walking the crowded sidewalks, looking for his sister, Sonya.

Nathanial raised a brow at the newcomer and he dropped his arm that held out the offered sweater and turned his attention from the woman to the man. "Well this is interesting." He said amused. He gave the boy an overly dramatic bow and said "Hunter with a bow at your service." He looked up and said with a cocky grin "But you can just call me Nathanial." He straightened and moved his hands to his pockets and studied the boy. He could feel a power in him and Nathanial wondered if the boy meant to harm him. "You're not on my target list kid, no sense in wasting power. I'm not getting a pretty penny for killing you so there is no sense is there?" He tilted his head and waited. He stayed alert in case the boy meant to harm him.

Sonya dried her eyes and got up. Simon was probaly looking for her. She knew how much he worried about her. She hurried home, to her white trash apartment in the bad side of town. The people there were just as rough as she was. How Simon had made it, she had no idea. He was such a softy. Maybe even a hopeless romantic. Just as she rounded the corner, she saw 3 people. They didn't look like the belonged in the ghetto.

Simon came around the other corner. He saw Sonya and sighed. "Sonya...who in the hell are these people? They don't belong here. This isn't another drug run, is it? These people aren't drug dealers, are they?" he asked, slightly glaring at his sister. She did not have money to be wasting on marijuana.

Shaun looked at the guy, he had made a good point about wasting time and power. Not that he was going to do much in the first place. Not even as if it would be any strain to him anyway. Shaun looked at the big guy as the girl looked at him as if he was on drugs, or he was drunk. "I see what you mean about not being on your little list of doom but I had friends you have killed. For money of all things." As he spoke a parking meter not ten feet away started to bend unnaturally, the metal made a scratching sound as it stopped and came to stand, no, slouch in an upside down V sort of shape after about twenty seconds of twisting. Nobody had seen as it was the dead of night and the streets were almost abandoned.

Shaun turned around as he thought about what to do in this situation. Noticing the bent parking meter he looked back around. "Okay see the meter? I didn't even know I was doing that so wonder what I can do if I know what I'm doing? Just think about that before you kill an unknown target for money." He loosened his shield as he stepped back, "Also, don't call me kid."

Nathanial looked around and noticed they seemed to have attracted a small audience. He looked at the woman standing next to the man and winked at her and then looked back at the kid. He was surprised by his power and he took a step towards him and said “What I did is in the past… kid.” He chuckled and said “cute trick but don’t think you’re the strongest person that’s come up against me.” He leaned back and said “It’s past your bedtime and seems to me we’ve got a bit of a crowd here. Go home kid.”

They're both on drugs. It's a good thing I didn't accept that guy's sweater, that would've led to a conversation and he would try to get me to do drugs with him. Brooklyn thought, as the both jabber about killing people. Then the parking meter bent. She didn't have an explanation for that, she wasn't on drugs, after all.

Sonya gasped and looked at her little brother with fearful eyes. That scared Simon. He had never seen fear in his sister's eyes. She obviously did not know these people, and definatly was not doing a drug deal with them. She just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The other girl looked as freaked out as Sonya did.

Sonya would run, but there was no way in hell she was leaving Simon, and he was on the other side. "Fuck," she mumbled. She glanced at the other girl, then at the two guys again. What in the hell?! This was not normal ghetto stuff. But these people, at least one of the guys, was like her and Simon. He was different. That was what scared her. She wanted to change into a mountain lion, and Simon wanted to change into a black panther, but they didn't. Never. She swore she'd never change again...

Odessa:

Odessa decided to go for a walk. The night was clear and you could see some stars. She grabbed her keys so she could lock her door, She's had things stolen before. She made her way down the stair well and down to the front door and walked out looking at the ground, a habit that she acquired to look for change people may have dropped. When she looked up She saw two men and a woman talking about 15 yards away and some people in the distance kind of just staring. She made her way to the 7/11 that was 5 blocks away.

"I wonder what they were doing" she thought. "But curiosity killed the cat" She chuckled at her little pun

Shaun listened to the guys cocky remarks, one by one. pissing him off more and more was the fact he was treating him like a child, Shaun had raised himself from fourteen and knew he wasn't a child or acted like one. With the small crowd of people watching them he knew they wouldn't mind a little show to end their evening.

"Okay, first things first; I am one of the most powerful people in this city so you really don't want to fuck around with me. Despite my age I could kill you with a single thought so I wouldn't make remarks about my age; let alone my bedtime. I control my life and always have since I found the Chronicle so why don't you shut up and piss off before I show you what I can actually do." Shaun felt that speech would be enough to shock the hunter and if he kept his cocky and 'I'm hard' attitude he would actually do something worth the energy.

Nathanial could see the boy meant business and he mocked wiping a tear and said “I’m touched.” He moved his backpack to his other shoulder and moved his hands back to his pockets and said “but seriously kid, you’re scaring that pretty little lady over there.” He jutted his thumb towards the woman he had offered the jacket to and then glanced over at the other two standing by them. “Scaring them too its seems.” He looked back at the telepath and said “Tell you what I’ll buy you a hot chocolate and then you can go home and I can make some time with that chick over there ok?” He said.

Sonya laughed. "Damn straight you're scaring me! What in the hell is wrong with you people? Ya'll don't even seem human!" she said as Simon shot her a death glare.

"You're going to have them kill us," he mouthed. Simon knew his sister could be a hard ass. He thought she was smart enough to know that this was not the right situation for her to have that attitude, espicially because these people obviously weren't normal and she couldn't just whoop their asses in some sort of street fight, but she obviously didn't. And he prayed she wasn't going to shift...

Odessa:

Odessa walked back with a slurpee and a small bag of fritos. When she was back at her block, all the people were still there and a parking meter near by was bent. She stopped for a few seconds before speeding up her pace and then going back into her apartment building. She ran up the stairwell and back to her Studio. She shifted into the cat and went out her window to get a better listen.

Aaliyah

Leah ran as fast as she could from the demons chasing after her. One teleported from the position behind her and appeared directly in front of her. To any normal person it would just look like a mugging but she knew better. She screamed in hopes that a human or another magical being was around to at least distract the demons. The demon sliced the side of her face in response to her shriek which made her scream louder. "Please you have to understand." she said quickly, hoping her charm would work on the demons surrounding her. "I don't have any money" she said, pretending she wasn't the person they were looking for. Two of the demon men stopped in their tracks, falling prey to her charm, but the third smirked. "I knew you were the one we were looking for. SNAP out of it you idiots". Leah's eyes widened. She didn't really have any other abilities to protect herself. "Listen. I know who you work for. He's come after me before, and I know you'll achieve great standing in your clan if you were to bring me in, but think about it." her mind raced with contradictions, trying to figure out how to persuade the demon in front of her. "If you were to bring me in right now with no deal struck up with your clan, what's to stop them from killing you and taking me straight to the source? Your best bet would be to go back, strike up a deal, and then try and find me again." the demon laughed in her face. "I'm not just going to let you go honey. Do you KNOW how long we've been looking for you?" Leah quickly pulled away, dug into her pocket, and blew what looked like sand into his face. It would keep him from teleporting at least, and she ran. She ran until she quite literally ran into someone. With a thud she landed on her back and stared at the man. Her eyes widened in fear again. 'A HUNTER?!' she thought. Not only was there a hunter in her presence but a few others as well. The demons were close behind and she had to think fast. When they peeled around the corner she clung to the hunter. "They're trying to kill me!" she screamed, hoping her damsel in distress act would work.

People yelling at others for killing people, talking about hunters, things bending out of no where.... Brooklyn had no idea what to think. Either she's going crazy and hallucinating this all or she'd walked into a crowd of people who were insane or drunk or on drugs or all three. She didn't want to think about what the third option could be. "Alright, what the hell is happening?!" she eventually yelled.

Nathanial was always one to help a woman when she was in distress. He moved her behind him and said “Stay back.” He pulled out his bow and notched an arrow and he looked over at the kid and said “Wanna team up and resolve our differences later?” He asked while letting an arrow fly towards the demons. He pulled out another one and took careful aim and hit one between its ugly eyes. There was a thud as the arrow drove through the demons head. He nudged the woman behind him and said “Get that other lady and go hide. We’ll find you later.”

"Demons...shit, Simon!" Sonya yelled. "We have no choice. We have to shift...." she whispered in his ear. He looked down, bit his lip, and they started to shift. Sonya slowly turned into a mountain lion, and he turned into a black panther. They could not talk in animal form, only roar. Too communicate, they had to send messages to each other's minds...

I'll go and try and keep the girls safe.

As if it would all make it okay the guy offered to buy him a hot chocolate in exchange for Shaun to leave him alone with the woman he was stood by. "Please it's not as if you actually have a chance with that girl." He looked at the guy as he got colder. The bright blue neon hoodie was not doing it's job in keeping Shaun very warm. "Also I notice how you stop with the cocky comments now huh. Guess you really don't want to die tonight, smart move."

Shaun turned around to a girl hurling nonsense at them both. Something about not seeming human, Shaun was human; Only a human with extreme luck, he and his best friend had found the Chronicle thus ending in him being given his insane abilities. Just as he was about to shout something back as a girl came running from around the corner of an alleyway. As she screamed and clung onto the hunter as three evil looking people in black hoodies ran round the corner. Obviously after her. The normal girl screamed out as Shaun grabbed the most dangerous looking out of the three and lifted him in the air in front of him. With a spin of his head he faced the girl who had screamed, "Would you shut up or run home?" He then spun to face the attacker in front of him as he held his arms and legs in place. "Okay you son of a bitch, do you have a valid reason to be running after this girl?" the hunter beside him asked to team up as he shot one in the face and the arrow went through it's forehead.

"Yeah I guess we can kill these guys then talk later." The one in his grasp started to twist backwards until it's spine snapped out of it's back. Shaun lifted his hand and clenched his fist as the guys ribcage then imploded on itself. The guy dropped to the ground still as he let his arm hang by his side. Blood stained the pavement and the sound of bone crunching could be heard as the guy stood straight back up. Shaun looked at him with a disgusted look as the now apparent creature gave him a devilish smile. Shaun shouted out "Your friend died so easily so why won't you just copy him?" Shaun lifted his hand and twisted it round as the creatures head twisted as well. Now as it dropped to the floor dead he turned to face anyone who was watching. "Well he took quite a bit of punishment."

Leah nodded, trying to keep up the 'Damsel in distress' act. She grabbed brooklyn's arm and before running she turned to look back. 'why is the hunter in the presence of so many species?' she thought. She took note of the two people who shape shifted and ran off with the girl. She pulled down a fire escape and let the girl climb first then followed behind her, taking shelter on the roof of an apartment complex. 'If the demons are dead its only a matter of time before they send more to find out why they haven't come back yet.' Leah thought, trying to strategize.

Brooklyn follows the other girl as she runs. "What's happening?" she asks, as the other girl has her climb up a fire escape before her. She had no clue what was happening, but didn't want to stay in the dark. Everyone else seemed to understand what was going on. She was the only normal one.
