Blaine Myers a.k.a Warden Ghost's Story

It was obvious there was more to this than what she was telling and Ghost wasn't going to get it out of her. The warden non-chalantly accepted it as he got off the desk he leaned on and sat in his seat.

"I never said I believed it, but you're not giving me much to go on. Some guy says you kiss a doctor, so you brutally beat him while everyone watches, which is from what I can tell 'not your style'. Put yourself in my shoes, what am i suppose to think if you don't clear it up for me. It's fine if you don't want to tell me, but I'm the one doing your evaluations, I'm the one trying to clear you medically sane so you don't have to be in here." Ghost began as he looked across the desk at her.

"I know you've had issues with wardens in the past, but I'm asking you to trust me. Whatever you say stays in this room, I won't even report it in your folder from here on out if it makes you feel comfortable" Ghost said as he tried to reassure her.

Wow, this guy really was different from the other former wardens. They'd all been so grumpy and always seemed to hate their job and everyone around them, but this guy actually... seemed like he wanted to help. Shadow shook it off though. To clear you medically sane... pff. They were the ones who had made her insane in the first place. She'd been perfectly fine when she was outside, her criminal career had been going really well and alot of people respected her. Just because you're "evil", doesn't make you insane.

"Whatever you say stays in this room, I won't even report it in your folder from here on out if it makes you feel comfortable."

So now he wanted to play some kind of psychologist? No way that was going to happen.

"You're the ones who made me "insane" in the first place....Mr. Ghost." Shadow muttered. She then took a deep breath and sighed resignedly. "You might as well just put me back in my little cage now."

Ghost was a bit disappointed in Shadow, he showed this by placing his shades back on his face, covering his eyes again. "Although I motioned for you to follow me when we left the cafeteria you didn't have to come. I actually didn't expect you to follow me, so I was surprised when you were behind me when I opened the door to my office. You can leave this office whenever you'd like Shadow, I'm not going to hold you back." After that Ghost said that he rose up from his desk and made his way over to the window and surveyed Arkham Island. Ghost would wait a while before turning back, he did not expect her to stay, so his expectations were low.

It was nearly dinner time and Dr. Hans had not reported in, this was a bad sign to Ghost. He knew the doctor was scheduled to see Depravity, but that was a long time ago. Ghost wondered what was going on as he waited for Shadow to make her decision.

Meanwhile Dr. Hans was in his office being held pen point. Hans had tried to convince Depravity he was an ally, but it seemed to have failed obviously. Dr. Hans was disappointed that the folder failed to mention that Depravity suffers from paranoia. Hans face was unwavering as he was held by Depravity. This was not the first time Hans had been held by his patients like this, he was quite accustomed to it. Hans calmly pressed against his pocket to the buzzer that alerted Ghost. "Jester? Wench? You mean Joker and Harley Quinn? They've long since departed from the asy...your kingdom" Hans caught himself as he pointed to the broken wall under construction outside of his window. Perhaps Depravity would see it as something else, as he seemed to already be hallucinating.

It was obvious that Ghost were dissapointed in her. But why should she care, it wasn't like she knew him or cared about him for that matter. But she choose to stay just one second longer, he'd actually succeeded to make her feel a bit guilty - something most people failed at. But also mostly because she felt that she in the end had to explain. She didn't want him to think the wrong things about her.

She wasn't happy about this and it clearly showed on her face, but for a second she actually considered to tell him the whole thing. She ended up not doing it tho, instead she just muttered: "There was just some... incidents with the former warden." She shook her head and got up. "But it's nothing really. I just let my bad temper take the best of me in the cafeteria" she said and tried to sound convincing. There was no need to go into details. She ran her fingers through her hair and swung it behind her shoulders and then turned aorund to go. But then she realised that he hadn't punished her for her behaviour and she stopped at the doorframe. "Am I going back to my cell in solitary?" she asked carefully and turned around to face him again.

Warden Ghost who'd listened to what Shadow had to say was about to answer her question of whether or not she'd go to solitary or not, a buzzer had gone off in Ghosts's pocket. "Excuse me" the warden said before phasing into the floor beneath. The warden saw the situation in Dr. Hans office as he poked his head through the ceiling above where they were standing. Hans was about to be killed by Brandon or Depravity, Ghost didn't know much about him.

Ghost phased back into the ceiling and rose from the floor behind Depravity. He calmly tapped Depravity on the shoulder. Even with his own doctor's life at risk he didn't want to act violent towards his patients.

Suddenly, someone tapped Depravity on the shoulder. He turned to see Warden Ghost standing behind him.

"Curious," Depravity remarked, "We don't seem to know you, either." Depravity stepped away from Dr. Hans to carefully study the new man standing before him. "If you're a stranger to our customs here, we suggest you wait a moment. An execution is in progress, and as fun as it would be to include another one, we do not have the time; we have a kingdom to rule."

Depravity paused for a moment, and continued cautiously eyeing Warden Ghost. "You seem like strong-willed individual, strong physique, eyes black as night... we could have some use for you. Who exactly are you? And don't lie to us as this one before you did."

Ghost raised his eyebrows at the man who was going to execute Dr. Hans as he said. Ghost was even more intrigued when he said his eyes were as black as night. Ghost took off his shades and put them in his pocket, revealing his pure pale eyes.

Ghost looked Depravity right in the eyes as he slowly raised his hand and pointed at Dr. Hans aggressively, the then waved his finger no at Depravity. He was obviously trying to get him away from Hans, but he decided he did not want to speak to Depravity. Ghost continued to stare a hole into Depravity, his eyes seemingly go ghastlier.

Warden Ghost took a moment think before answering Depravity. "I am Warden Ghost, that is Dr. Klarheit, you are not at any kingdom, you are in a mental institution for the criminally insane called Arkham Asylum. Release Dr. Klarheit" Ghost answered and commanded. He looked at the man he stood in front of who was completely insane. Out of all the patients he had seen today, this one seemed to need the most help.

He wondered if he would have to be violent to this patient. Ghost was trying his best, but Depravity seemed like the type who needed violence to cooperate. Ghost turned his attention back to Hans. "Don't forget you have to visit each of the patients before the day is over. I know you're doing what I told you as far as handling the patients, but I'm going to need you to wrap this session up soon." Ghost said completely ignoring the face that Depravity had him, ready to kill.

Dr. Hans who still was unnerved by the situation gave Ghost a nod.

"We see plain as day, Warden Ghost," Depravity shot back, "and this Doctor Klarheit is nothing but a petty spy sent here most likely by that foul Jester to ruin our day." Depravity could tell the situation was escalating, but this wasn't exactly bad news. Depravity tossed Dr. Hans aside and dropped the pen to the floor. This wasn't a surrender; Depravity simply saw a more powerful foe in Warden Ghost.

"So, Spectre, you say this place set before us is not our kingdom and this is not the throne room, yet you ramble on about Asylums and Arkhams like a madman. We have eyes just as you do, but you do not see the world set before you."

Depravity cracked his knuckles and smiled at the Warden. "How about you test your mettle against us. You can sit here and insult our kingdom all day, but we're bored."

Shadow watched as Ghost dissapeared through the floor. Apparently there was a fight or something going on. She walked over and sat on top of the desk to wait. She didn't want to leave quite yet, she didn't even know where she should go after all. Probably just back to that crappy cell. The documents were still there on the desk and Shadow noticed her name on the top one. She looked around the room to make sure he wasn't back and then took the chance.
Her eyes quickly scanned through the text to find her insanity level, the other stuff could wait. She chuckled when she saw the number. Only 4 after all? That had to mean her acting with "I'm just a innocent girl" had been pretty good. Even tho that new warden seemed to see right through her.

She quickly looked outside the door to check that nobody was coming and then she sat down in Ghosts chair with the documents in front of her. She looked at her file again. She wasn't to be trusted? Lied all the time? Maybe they'd figured some of it out after all.
Shadow smirked. It was quite entertaining to read what those idiots had written about her. When she'd read her file, she took up another one. The Cannibals.
"Wow..." she said to herself as she read through it. He had killed and eaten a lot of people, even a four year old. He had been at the asylum for 14 years. "Why don't they just kill him?" she muttered while she put it back in the stack of papers. She was tempted to read more, but Ghost had been away for a while now and he would probably be back soon.

Shadow started to consider if she should just leave... The man said she wasn't forced to be there after all. Maybe she should just go back to the general area and pretend that she belonged there? Choose some random cell and pretend that she knew the other inmate?

The warden got face to face with Depravity. "I would love to indulge in this meeting, but I'm afraid we're going to postpone this. I have an asylum to run and this is not on my schedule. I do apologize for this Brandon." The warden says, making sure that Depravity's eyes meet his. As Dr. Hans understands that the wardne is serious about time, he sneaks behind Depravity while he is distracted and jabs a tranquilizer into his arm. Hans thenn quickly backs away and opens the door for the guards who have been waiting outside the door. They were on oreders by Hans not to take the patient until he instructed them to.

"You may the patient back to his cell. Move his cellmate somewhere else until we know Brandon can be trusted again" Hans said as the guards walked in and grabbed Depravity. During this Warden Ghost phases through the floor and back into his office.

"I do apologize for the interruption Shadow. I'm glad to see that you haven't left yet. There must be something on your mind obviously if you've stayed this long" Ghost said as he walked out of a wall. Ghost looked at the files that seemed out of place when he last left. "Perhaps this question is about your file...or someone else's?" Warden Ghost assumed as he looked at the clock on his wall. Dinner was about to be served about an hour from now.

Shadow mentally sighed of relief when she realised Ghost didn't care about her looking in the files. "No no, no questions about that." she said and smirked slightly.
"I just..." Shadow hesitated. What exactly did she want to know? She wasn't sure, maybe she were just enjoying not being in her cell. She did remember her question from before though. "Am I going back to solitary?" she asked again and stood up from the chair and walked over to the doorframe, ready to go. She wasn't hoping for anything though. She'd just beaten another inmate after all.

Ghost who had a straight face walked over to the doorway where Shadow was standing. "No you won't be going to solitary, I'm moving you out. There are people here who need it more than you. You'll be staying in the general area with a patient who just lost a roommate. You'll be bunking with Doppleganger." Ghost said as he waited for what kind of a reaction she'd have.

Ghost made this choice because he knew they were about on equal strength, both were females so he didn't have to worry about Shadow manipulating a male patient unless Doppleganger had a thing for girls, which he doubted.

"Dinner is not to long from now, so you don't have to go to your new quarters. I'm giving you the option to be my shadow...no pun intended. I figure it'd be a lot better than staying in a small area longer than you have to." Warden said as he moved past Shadow and out into the hallway

"Once again, the choice is yours" Ghost began to walk down the hallway where he was scheduled to meet with one last patient...Victoria Quint. Warden Ghost now stood in front of her cell, looking at her.

Shadow sighed as Ghost said she wasn't going back to solitary. Finally, it was about time.
She didn't know who this Doppleganger was, but it was obvious why this person were missing a roommate. She should probably be careful.

Ghost walked past her and out on the hallway. "I'm giving you the option to be my shadow.." he said and began to walk down to a cell. Did this guy suddenly trust her? It sure did sound tempting, but she didn't want him to think that she would just follow him everywhere and do whatever he said. On the other hand... she now had the chance to see one of the other more crazy patients. Shadow decided to follow him. Just this one time. But she wasn't going to be his fucking dog or something! It was an Aylum after all and she was a crazy criminal.

"Sounds interesting" she said and was over at the cell in less than one second. She stopped behind him and smirked to herself. Feels good to be somewhat free...

Ghost stood by the bars of Victoria's cell for a minute, just staring at her. Ghost was thinking of what he should do with her for a minute.

"Dr. Hans is unable to fulfill his duties today, so I'm taking his place. Do you have any questions or comments? If not I will move on." Ghost asked the patient, not trying to sound impatient. He already profiled her based on that introduction. He determined that'd she'd have some type of witty comeback. He turned to Shadow to make sure she observing how he dealt with a patient who acted differently than her.

Meanwhile Hans was still in his office waiting for the guards to take away the now tranquilized Depravity.

Ghost raised an eyebrow to Victoria in confusion. "This is not an evaluation, just want to know if there's anything that concerns you about Arkham that can be fixed. Patients mental health recovers better in satisfactory environments. Are you satisfied?" Ghost asked, soon realizing she might have been talking about something else. She looked like she was in a deep thought for a moment, so Ghost changed his approach to her. He decided to be more precise than direct when speaking to her.

Ghost didn't remember this patients face as well as the others, he wondered if she'd eaten at all today.

Warden Ghost shot a dark look to one of the younger guards nearby after what Victoria told him. "That won't happen again, I apologize" Warden says as he still stares at the guard. He turns back to Victoria with his neutral face. "As far as your living arrangement goes, solitary is as quiet as it gets, the general area not so much. The patient next to me is leaving solitary, so you can take her cell if you'd like, though it is quite bizarre for a patient to want to be in solitary." Warden Ghost admitted. "The choice is yours" Warden Ghost said as he awaited her answer, he was interested in what she would pick.

Ghost glanced at Shadow to make sure she was observing closely. She was, infact this actually amused her. She was standing against the wall behind Ghost with her arms crossed, smirking slightly to herself. This sure was better entertainment than being alone in her cell all day. She wasn't able to see the other inmate because of Ghost and she didn't want to. She was just listening to their conversation.
It was weird... that this woman wanted to be in solitary. Shadow definitely prefered the company of others: it was more fun to watch others go insane and be crazy, than to watch herself go insane alone in a cell.

Shadow laughed when Ghost mentioned something about being bizarre. "You do realize you're in a madhouse Ghost?" she said without noticing she was starting to mention him by his first name. The other female laughed at him as well. It was like he actually saw these villains as people sometimes and not crazy evil villains.

"Yes, I'm well of aware that I'm in an institution for the criminally insane" Ghost said with a straight look on his face. He snapped his fingers to get two guards' attention. He then pointed to Victoria and then pointed to the hallway leading to solitary. The guards opened her gate and waited for Victoria to come out.

"Dinner is soon. I would like to see you in the cafeteria when the time comes" He said turning back to Victoria, then walking down further towards maximum security. He stood by Alexei's cell which was a box of iron with a small peephole just like every other cell in maximum security. This section of the asylum had to be the most uncomfortable out of all three patient holding areas.

The warden gave three strong knocks on the metal door, that echoed throughout the maximum security ward. He waited patiently with his hands behind his back by the peephole of the cell. Alexei seemed to be entranced for a moment.

Shark had vanished, leaving Alexei alone once more, although he’d been alone to begin with anyhow. He had started mumbling to himself nonsensical words in all three of the languages he knew, melding words and meanings together like they meant absolutely nothing. He was hardly aware of the sounds he was making until three resounding knocks sounded on the cell, reverberating throughout the confined space and making Alexei wince slightly.

“Chto- Wha.. what do you want?” he asked, voice weary from his banter with the apparition.
