Veida grinned as her name was called by a guard standing by the gate to the glorious city of Aerios. She had her cousin, Mina, waiting within the city. Veida had arranged to stay with her for the necessary time period.

She noticed how there was a pause between her names. "Veida... Cyrus!" There were some stares as she stepped up to the gatekeepers.

"Aye," she answered, crossing her arms and leaning slightly to one side, an electric blue eyebrow raised. The gatekeepers gaped. Veida frowned. She noticed one of the gatekeepers wasn't looking at her face, but lower.

With a growl of dissatisfaction, her hand flew to the pouch of water at her side. She drew out a stream, quick as a flash, wrapped around the man's neck, and turned it to ice. She made it constrict bit by bit, until his face turned an unsightly purple.

"Don't let your eyes wander," she hissed. "Or I'll take em out." With that, she unfroze the water and drew it back into the pouch on her hip. The unfortunate gatekeeper fell to the ground in an unconscious heap.

"Now then," she smiled somewhat deviously as she turned to the line of warriors. "Cyrus Firebrand reporting for duty," she called. "And ready to kick some ass!" Veida turned back to the guard who hadn't passed out.

"If you don't mind," she said in a mock-polite tone. The remaining gatekeeper sputtered, as if he meant to say something, but he thought better of it and opened the gate to Aerios. Without pausing or looking back, Veida Cyrus strode into the city.

She was glad her cousin's home was not far from the gate. Veida wanted as little interaction with others as possible. The High Elf reached her destination in minutes. Mina was waiting outside to greet her.

"Ve-" she was silenced by a look from Veida. She didn't want her name shouted into the streets. Mina nodded and guided her inside.

"Welcome, welcome! How's the family?" her cousin asked. Veida waved the question away, suddenly overcome by the weariness of travel.

"Eh, Mina, I'm a little tired."

"Oh! Yes, of course! I'll show you to the guest room..." Veida was led to a rather spacious, homely chamber. "I'll just let you rest then..." Mina left down the hall.

Veida wasted no time throwing her bags on the floor, climbing into the bed and drifting off.

She intercepted the call to arms letter that was to be sent to her homelands, the messenger had pleaded she spare his life, but it was something she couldn't risk. It was little effort to destroy the body, a simple Terra attack took care of that. Taking up the letter she read it and set fire to it to destroy it so no one else could find it. As the remaining singed remains lay on the ground now consumed by the fire Solar walked away with a purpose. The solemn expression a clear indication she held no remorse for the life she just wasted. Her destination now is the City of Aerios to which she'll present herself as the warrior for her homelands and none would be the wiser to question her. In the time that it took for her to reach the outskirts of Aerios already so much had happened at the gates that the choas that had ensued was still pending by the time Solar reached it. She did not respond to the kind 'hellos' from the locals as she briskly made her way towards the gates with her companion Zoba in tow. A loyal friend Zoba, he'd been with her since she found him abandoned as a cub. His performance was astounding for a puma and in time she was able to give him a form of immortality so that he'd be by her side longer then what human aging dictated.
Although at the time it had taken her substantial mana to perform the spell she achieved it and spent nearly a year recovering. As her feet carried her to the gates she was draped in a satin purple cloak, hiding her face from those around her but revealing enough for them to know she was female. A light tinkling sounded with each step as she drew closer to the gaurds at the gates, and judging by their stances a few things had occurred that the tension couldn't be cut with a knife. Before she could pass through a few guards stepped into line before her one, the leader, shouted.
"Stop" to which she did, a brow raised in question.
"I am here to answer the call of arms" her tone was soft and held no humor.
The guard eyed her from feet to covered head, "Remove your cloak and announce yourself or you'll not gain entry."
A smirk escaped her, but she made no sudden moves to remove the hood of her cloak, her eyes assessing them from beneath the hood. The guards tension rose and the smell of fear began wafting from their very pores and she smiled sinically before her hand slowly slipped free of the cloak and bending at the elbow she reached up and brushed the hood from her head. A brow still raised she motioned to Zoba to sit as she heard a low growl from the beast.

"I am Solorlinna Malthalthar."
A few of the men glanced between one another and stepped back, her eyes brushed over them and the sheer sight of them backing up had her amused.
"Lady Solarus," the lead guard gave a bow before he stepped aside, "Forgive me, you've not been to Aerios for many years."
waving the others to open the gates he walked beside her as they made their ways through the gates.
"I had things.....to attend to, but I've returned and will answer the call to arms. From what I've seen others are already here that will do nicely and others..." her eyes touched over someone they passed, "simply wont do. I look forward to meeting these individuals but for now I'll be in my quarters." she stopped abruptly and looked at the guard. "It is still mine?" the guard nodded.
"Yes Madame." With that she was led to a well upkept pub with rooming above and after paying found her room and settled in. Zoba settling on the end of the bed.

Aeka glanced around as she landed, looking to see exactly where she was as she let Laevatein vanish from her right arm and her reinforcement magic fade away. Just then, however, a deep, ringing voice and a heavy object bonking her on the side of the head tore her out of her reverie. Rubbing her head, she looked up to see exactly who had thrown... whatever it was at her. Well, the only person doing anything was the hulking, giant blue Nerion, and he was talking to someone he called "Bird Kin." It took her a moment to realize that he meant her. Well, while that technically wasn't far from the truth - after all, she did share the same bone structure and additional organs with several large avians - it was still rather insulting to be treated like some sort of subhuman errand girl. She might have lashed out at the massive cerulean warrior were it not for one realization - the object that had hit her in the head was a bag of coins. It wasn't a very large one, and Aeka had some money of her own thanks to her brief encounter with the nobleman on the next street over, but one could never have too much gold. Besides, what she had stolen would probably only pay for a month's food and quartering, and given that she was kind of unemployed, this was the closest thing to a source of honest income that she could get.

"I have a name, you know," Aeka said somewhat indignantly, snatching up the coinpurse where it lay at her feet, then adjusting her marvelously lined cape with a slightly put-off air. "Anyway, consider yourself lucky, big guy. I usually don't stop to help just anyone, but, you caught me at just the right time. I'll bring back this Miri-whatsit person for you just as soon as I can find him," She replied confidently, giving her trademark proud grin. This expression only lasted a split second, because a moment later, she was scratching her head in a somewhat unsure manner. "But, err..." She stammered, seeming a bit confused. "Do you at least know which direction he's in from here? It's kind of hard to scour the streets and check for anyone wearing a hood, especially with the city this crowded. If you knew what this guy was doing at the moment, it would be a lot easier than just flying around randomly and hoping I see some cloaked, red-faced, spiky-headed guy with a creepy grin."

Glancing over to his side as he reclined back in the soft seat on the chair, Mairjra snapped his gaze upon a beautifully enchanted black blade displayed in the shop. Never in his life has a blade of such craft been seen this close , even the years he spent with the Wood Elfs who were master blade forgers has Mairjra ever seen a magnificent sword. The blade was black, a dark blue stripe ran down the borad side of the sword with a curved tip the blades cutting force had to be great, the hilt obviously crafted from Dragons Bain. Yawning and getting out of the comfortable seat, making his way back to the counter gazing back at the long sword calling the shop-keep over "The black long sword, how much?" Mairjra asked, the blade fascinated him so much that it was a must, buy much better crafted than the blade that sat in the Inn.

She looked a little stunned from the question "um ugh...Father!" the shop keep called out making her way from the front to the back of the shop, her face turned red as soon as she left. Her father, a tall black haired High Elf stood tall, his long black hair ran down his upper back, Mairjra knew that he was a master enchanter as his eyes glowed blue, although for an High Elf he was more muscular than some laying his thick forearm on the table. "And you want what human" He spoke in a deep hardened voice, Mairjra could tell that the man was annoyed with something particularly being brought to the front by his daughter. "Well Elf. I want the sword you have on display, the one made from Dragons Bain" putting an exaggeration on the word elf, of all things to be called Mairjra hated being called just a human, thinking it was a form of resentment by other races due to the Dark Prince.

The High Elf laughed" First off, that sword undergoes harsh experimentation with my enchantments making it unpractical for you to use, second its 600 gold peices, also it drains mana from the environment around it unpractical for a magic user as yourself"

Glancing up dropping another sack of gold on the counter, "650, I'll feed it mana, and I feel the magic coming from the blade its fed for now, I'll teach it to not take my own mana" Mairjra said softly looking back over his shoulder. With a sigh the High Elf motioned Mairjra over, "Take it, she's all yours when ever your ready to activate the sword, call it by its name feior" Snaching the sword up into his hand, Mairjra waving the Elf away walking out the shop, starting his Travel back to the Inn.

Veida was awakened by a faint yelling and the unmistakable sounds of a fight. She was up in an instant, rushing over to the window, which had a view of the buildings across the street. On the roof of one, a fight had broken out. Veida turned around and rushed out of the room, running her hands through her short electric blue hair.

"Mina! Be right back!" she called to her cousin. No response.

Out the door she ran, dodging a few people on the street as she made her way to the building. It was an inn. People walked in and out casually, only a few glancing up at the scuffle on the rooftop. Veida pushed past them and into the alley next to it.

Not wanting to be seen, she continued until she was behind the building. Veida opened her water skin and drew out two equal streams, which she froze into spikes.

The building wasn't too tall; it would only take a moment to heave herself up there and investigate the action. Veida licked her lips and stabbed one of the spikes into the wall. Not too hard; people on the inside wouldn't see. But it was stable. Next spike. She placed her foot against the wall and stabbed the first spike up higher. This was how she made her way up to the rooftop. It didn't take long, like she'd thought.

Moments later, she was on the roof, the water back in its pouch. She took a second to observe the scene. Looked like a good fight if she'd ever seen one. She had, of course.

Veida summarized the scene. Blades, Larthos, rugged-looking guy, and... Nerion? It looked more human than most. She mentally shrugged it off. Now then...

"'Ey! What in the holy hell's going on up here?"

Dav watched as the Larthos above him materialized some sort of weapon on he arm, then a flash of light erupted from it. The flash flew out of his field of vision, then he heard a large explosion. Dav was frozen for a moment, never having seen such a display. However as his makeshift dagger handhold slipped a little further out of the roof, he was quickly draw out of his awe.

Then, yelling for him to grab her hand, the Larthos reached out for him. He reached as far as he could, trying to swing himself up towards her by pulling on the dagger. As the dagger slipped out, he managed to move up the roof a bit and grabbed for her hand. However, as his arm swung through the air, he felt three sharp pains in his back and he missed his grab. He let go of the dagger in his other hand.

Dav suddenly found himself pinned to the roof by three blades. One in his right shoulder, one in the center left of his back and one just above his right hip. Two of the five had missed and implied the roof near him, but the other three had defiantly done damage. As he looked up toward the Larthos, he saw the other five disembodied blades begin to surround her. He tried to warn her, but instead of making a noise he coughed up a spurt of blood onto the roof in front of him. Then his vision swam and voices drowned out, he lost focus on the world around him.

This is bad. He said to himself as the world slowed around him due to the massive amounts of adrenaline which his body had released. If I don’t do something I’m going to die. The Larthos can’t help me, she dealing with the man. I need to heal myself. I can use the plant life in my pouch. No, that won’t work, I still have these things stuck in me. They must be more of those swords that were around the Larthos. I can dispel them with wards. The blood in front of me, I can use it to draw them. He thrust his hands towards the large bloodstain in front of his face. Wait. He warned himself as his hands reached the stain. Their the only things keeping me up here.

He heard another explosion near him. No choice. He thought, then wiped his right index finger on the stain and immediately drew a ward on the top of his left hand. He bent his arm back down, then swiped his left hand across his back. The three blades in his back dispelled, as well as one that had been stuck in the roof just to the left of his torso. Then he began to slide down toward the edge of the roof.

"'Ey! What in the holy hell's going on up here?" A young looking girl with electric blue hair spoke

Mairjra laughed slightly as the Larthos was able to defend herself from the flurry of attacks, she cleverly dealt with the blades quickly but the Nerion wasn't so lucky, being impaled by the swords. While the smoke created from her defensive attack blinded him for awhile Mairjra knew that they would attempt to make an escape, however that being the case he would allow them to leave with their life. He also came to the conclusion that the Larthos would attempt to save the dying Nerion, so catching them really would not be a problem but the considerable implications of the two kills would end up harming his main quest. Slamming into the ground from the impact, looking up toward the roof as the smoke cleared the Larthos carried the suspected thief in hand flying back then away from the roof tops. Spiting out blood gripping his blade standing up, by the time he arose a crowed of people gathered around the sight of combat, darting his eyes toward the Inn-keeper that stared him down "I shall pay for the repairs" Mairjra spoke jumping up and casting destruction once again toward the ground to propel him up on the roof.

Gently landing upon the roof top with a angry look written across his face, walking toward the blue haired girl throwing his blade into the roof extending his hand "Mairjra is my name, and if your wondering whats happening a thief attempted to break into my room" Mairjra spoke with excellence and poise standing tall, "and you are?" he attempted to keep a noble's figure through out the talk but that failed quickly as he smiled briefly. Nice hair he thought, a more built body than from what he has seen, but the part that hooked him the most was that the young lady standing in front of him was an Elf, one that still smelled of the forest in which he spent many years of his life. Still wondering why would a High Elf stay so close to the wood land forest, shaking his head as the many questions ran through his head wondering what family was she from, and most of all why was she in this city. Aerios was where the call to arms was held, the Elf didn't look like she could handle the ranks of the Dark Prince, sighing he awaited her response.

Veida almost smiled slightly at the man. She took his hand and shook it gently, using her other hand to brush a strand of hair from her face. "Hello Mairjra," Nice name, she thought. "My name is Veida Cyrus." She was slightly impressed with his posture; it reminded Veida of her parents and how they acted around fellow prominent mages. She wasn't expecting to meet such a person. He held his head high, and his back was straight as if he himself was born into nobility, though Veida knew it was unlikely. He looked too... rugged. But Veida was still sure that he had some likable qualities. He'd already proved himself to be a hell of a fighter. He would be a good contribution to the cause of defeating the dark prince.

"Theif, huh? Well, looks like you took care of that problem pretty well."

"Hello Elf" Mairjra clearly addressed Veida, taking the newly enchanted ring from off the table, making his way to the waiting area plopping down looking at veida from a distance. Even from where he sat she looked pretty, almost as good looking as the Larthos from earlier Mairjra laughed at his own observation. A man trait, thinking back to when he lived with his old master, the man showed Mairjra how to observe the surrounding area and people giving him the slanted view on the world that he has today. Sighing as he gazed at her for awhile then switching his stare to another part of the room, her blue hair was unnatural for an Elf to have but the bright blue eyes drew him in, the thirst for mana that Veida's eyes held was amazing to Mairjra. Sitting up in more of a presentable fashion remembering that he was in the presents of an High Elf. "So we already have gotten off to a bad start, again my name is Mairjra Enverson. From the Enverson line of mages, I am the leading son of my noble family" Mairjra spoke clearly and articulately, casting his leg up on top of his knee.

"If I may ask, what is your family line?" Mairjra asked trying to retain some type of connection with the girl, as the words left his mouth he wondered. Why in the hell did she come all this way to speak to a stranger, someone she's never met before is my formality that great he thought to himself. Or maybe the looks I give are not threatening, rolling his shoulders back as he thought looking back to the girl with a smile. Most Elfs wouldn't carry a conversation this long with a human, they had a deep rooted distrust for Mairjras kin, again for some reason Veida came to talk to him.

Enverson... Veida pondered as she sat next to her new acquaintance. She was positive she'd heard that name before. She dismissed the nagging curiosity. Veida didn't really dabble in the social and political matters and facts of humans.

Answering Marjra's question, Veida smiled and replied, "I'm the third eldest child of the Mage clan Cyrus. We have a natural affinity with water, so that's my main power. Most of my family lives in a city not too far from here, but I preferred to live out with nature. Helps me concentrate on my magic. I do come to the city every once in a while to compete in tournaments and such, though, but I don't really enjoy crowded places." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and then crossed her hands on her lap. She'd never been a fantastic conversationalist, but she certainly hoped she wasn't boring Mairjra.

The waiting was starting to get to Xan. It had been a while since he had met the Larthos and sent her to retrieve the Mire Born. He had not expected it to take this long, so along with his boredom came a creeping agitation of failed expectations. He got up from his sitting spot and looked around the area for something to do. He would not disobey an order of the holder of his life debt, but he refused to sit idly forever. He spotted a small pond of to the side of the blacksmith’s building and walked over to it.

After staring into the water for a little while and concluding that the pond held no fish, he sat himself near the edge. He was disappointed that there were no fish, as he would have taken them for a meal. Instead, he now eyed the two goats that were huddled in the corner of the fenced off area across the pond from him. He clenched his axe. Goat was even better than fish. Before Xan could get up however, he heard the voice of the Larthos from before call out to him. He got up and turned around. The sight he saw then brought a big smile to his face.

Davkul Mire

As they touched down, Dav let the Larthos support him for a few moments as they took a few steps toward the fenced off area where his brother was. He heard get Xandun’s attention then explain the situation. He also noticed the smile that came to his brother’s face, though Dav was unsurprised at it. What truly drew his attention was the patchy green spots just beyond the fence. He quickly surged forward, breaking away from the Larthos’ support.

When he got to the fence, he fell to his knees and put his torso in between the wooden bars. As he moved his head through the fence, his hood fell back over his shoulders. Laying one hand on the ground, he pulled the other to his chest again and repeated his healing spell. The plant life around his hand began to quickly wither and die as he stripped it of it’s mana. When the wounds had fully healed, there was a large circle of dead plants with a radius of about 3 feet out from his hand.

“Healed now Mire Born?” Xandun’s deep voice asked just above him. Dav looked up to see his brother standing in front of him on the other side of the fence. “That’s a shame. To think I could have been rid of my life debt today.” Dav didn’t respond. He knew his brother was getting pleasure out of seeing him suffer, but he also didn’t care that much. He was just glad to have the endeavor he had just undergone.

“Come on now, Mire Born. I knew you were weak, if you can’t stand you might as well ask me to put you out of your misery.” Xan said down to his crouched brother with a large grin on his face. Dav ignored the comment and took a deep breath, then pulled himself out of the fence and stood up. He rotated his shoulder, then his torso, just to make sure everything was in working order. After he was satisfied, he pulled his hood back up over his head and composed himself.

He turned away from his brother, who frowned at Dav’s apparent recovery. “Thank you.” He said in a serious tone as he faced the Larthos. “You saved my li-” Only too late did Dav realize the mistake he had made.

“What?!” Dav’s brother ask with wild excitement. “What did you say?! She saved your life! You owe her life debt!” Xan let out a loud laugh, excited by the realization that his weakling brother was now chained by the same annoying bond that he was.

Damn, I should have thought that through… Dav regretted his comment in his mind as his brother continued to laugh.

“Well, go on!” His brother somehow formed words between his fits of loud laughter. “Tell the bird kin what she has acquired, I’m sure she doesn’t know our custom! Tell her what your honor demands!” Dav cringed at the word honor. He stood still for a moment.

“No.” He said flatly. “I owe no life debt.” His brother stopped laughing out of surprise. “My honor demands nothing. I am Mire Born. I have no honor.” Dav looked down as he said it, staring daggers at the ground. Caught in deep thought.

Xandun let out a loud yell and hurtled over the fence. “FALSE! DISTRUTH!” He shouted denials at his brothers statements, enraged at the thought that his brother might escape the chains he was bound to. Dav simply stood still, knowing his brother would not take physical action against the holder of his own life debt. Seeing no reaction from Dav, Xan focused his attention on the Larthos standing before the them. “You!” He pointed at the her. “You saved his life. The Mire Born owes you life debt! To be your servant until the debt is repaid! Tell him! Tell him that he must serve you!” Xan yelled expectantly, clinging to the thought that his brother might suffer as he did.

A disturbance outside had Solar moving to the window of her bedroom and brushing the curtain aside stared out, her eyes scanning over buildings and scenery until they rested upon the fight outside. A slight smile pressed over her lips and she whispered to herself, "A Larthos and a mire born," she watched a little longer observing. "Someone is attacking them, but who?" she questioned.
Luckily for her the attack was aimed from the Inn a few buildings away and at her angle she could see the two perfectly. The sparring continued for a time until the two, the mire born now being held by the Larthos flew away as some of the authorities began showing up. As the streets died down the one who'd attacked presented himself, Solar let her eyes roam over him before sighing.
"I' m sure he had his reasons." and moving away from the window she decided it was time she went and found food downstairs.
Although she'd just arrived nourishment the last few days were not a necessity as she'd sought out the messenger. Now her stomach chose to liven up and protest it's need for food. Zoba rose from the bed and padded towards the door giving a soft throaty murr to show he was hungry as well.
"Coming." and together the two companions went downstairs where she ordered their food and drink and settled into a table at the back of the pub so they'd not be disturbed. She'd left her cloak on until she reached her table removing it once she was seated.
Zoba hoarded a chair for himself and patiently waited for his food. the serving wench had set a saucer of milk down on the table for him in which he leisurely lapped at. Solar watched him while leaning back and slipping a hand into her cloak pocket retrieved a handful of stones with carvings in them. Holding them a moment she closed her eyes and reopened shortly after. Scattering them on the table she eyed them and smiled slightly.
"I'm intrigued to see where that goes." she put the runes away as food was served. She'd eat first before she'd visit one of the many weapondry shops, but she knew the one shop she'd visit once it was darker out.

A High Elf that stays in nature Mairjra thought to himself, it was odd to have a occurrence like that. Since most High Elf's came from some type of nobility it was strange for one to live out in the forested areas, cause most Wood Elf's called that place home none the less the new person he met was more than interesting. As Veida sat back and pulled the loose strands of blue hair behind her pointed ears, Mairjra spoke softly "So you must be a strong magic user, am I correct?" continuing to say "Magically capable, sorta attractive, smart looking and a Elf." He laughed with the last two statements. Although Mairjra's charismatic nature poured out as he spoke cleverly stringing together words and statements, he felt out of place as if he was speaking to a long lost friend one he never had. Though thoughts like that never lasted to long, Veida kept him interested and talking, maybe cause she reminded him of a old friend. "I have to say, I've never seen one from your family, nor herd of them. Don't take offence to my words, I'm just used to Wood Elf's" Mairjra spoke again sitting up straight.

From behind the counter the man he bought the sword from made his way toward the pair, and with a sigh he spoke " What the hell, are you doing here. You cause chaos at the Inn and then hide out in my shop" The High Elf seemed angry. And before Mairjra could even speak to defend himself the Elf shook his head at Veida "And you, befriending a human. Do you not know what kind of suffering they bring". Mairjra knew something like that would come up in this conversation, some Elf's held hate and resentment towards humans still, the Dark Prince divided the races and brought them to hate each other. Although most humans gave up on the hate and prejudice, the other races did not especially older Elfs. Feeling annoyed with the man already Mairjra darted his eyes away shaking his head, at this point speaking would lead no where so ignoring the Elf was the best possible out come

Dav listened to the Larthos’ proposal to join forces to have a better chance of becoming part of the group that the king was recruiting for. It seemed to be a good idea to him. After having seen her powerful display at the rooftop, Dav was sure that the Larthos’ would be a valuable ally to have. Also, even though he refused to honor his life debt, he still felt as though he should repay her somehow. “Very we-” He started, but was quickly cut off by his brother, who had spent the last few moments in disbelief at the Larthos’ words.

“To hell with the both of you!” Xandun exclaimed, throwing his arms up in protest. “Only fools refuse the service of a life debt!” he told the Larthos’ as he pointed accusingly at her. “…And you Mire Born!” He turned his attention to Dav. “You spit on the pride of our mother! On the pride of her ancestors, MY ancestors! You have always been a pathetic weakling but this is a-”

“ENOUGH!” Dav raised his voice to silence his brother, then turned to face him. “You will be silent.” He ordered in a flat, yet menacing, tone. “You will go and wait for me until I have concluded my conversation with the Soul Alchemist.” He finished, pointing to the spot by the pond where his brother’s axe still lay. He returned his brother’s angry gaze, not flinching as the large blue Nerion clenched his fists. “Now.” He commanded his brother.

For a moment, it looked as though his brother would strike Dav. Xan’s muscles tensed and he have Dav the death glare, but after a few tense moments the large warrior turned around grudgingly and marched toward the pond. He did not stop to hop the fence, instead he struck the top few bars and stepped over the splintered wood.

Dav turned to face the Larthos once more then picked up where he had left off. “Very well Soul Alchemist, I and my brother will join forces with you.” His words were a more relaxed, but his demeanor was still a bit tense from his altercation with his brother.

Veida smiled and shrugged modestly at Mairjra's remarks, a discreet pink hue coming to her cheeks. She was acting unusual, she realized. Usually her ego would have created a somewhat conceited response. But for some strange reason, she was different around Mairjra. Veida disregarded the odd feeling.

An angry High Elf appeared from behind the counter. Veida tensed, prepared for a confrontation of some sort. She was appalled at how he spoke to Mairjra. When he spoke to her, Veida felt her blood begin to boil.

She unclasped her hands and sat straighter, regarding the older High Elf with an icy glare perfected by years of practice on her opponents. "Look here," she hissed. "The people I chose to befriend are none of your god damn business, got that? So screw off before I make you eat your words, peon!" She'd never actually spoken this foul to anyone before, and she had certainly doubted the first person she would speak like that to wouldn't be a fellow High Elf. But, a lot of things were happening so far that day that she hadn't expected.

Veida simple shook her head in response to Mairjra's first statement. Her parents had attempted to match her with other prominent High Elves, and they had been rather attractive, but Veida saw that on the inside they were conceited and hungry for status. She frowned, shrugging off the memories. Veida crossed her legs under the table and sat back, looking about, making sure not to make eye contact with any of the pub's brute patrons. She worried the hem of her jacket as her gaze finally came to rest on the table before her.

At Mairjra's question, she looked up at him. "Yes... I'm guessing you are as well?"

“No, I haven’t heard your title before, Aeka.” He responded to the Larthos’ question. Though he noted a slight expectation in the way she had asked it. So he tried to play it down a little as he continued. “Though, I am not familiar with much of the world beyond my-” He stopped. “-where I lived.” He changed the phrasing. He couldn’t very well call it his home now. Thought village had been a hostile place, it was still where he grew up. She shrugged off the homesick feeling, then set to responding to her other comments.

“And I assure you that Xandun will cause you no harm. I will order him to assist you and keep you safe as he does me. He may hold a grudge, but he will not disobey an order of the one he owes life debt. He was a warrior of our village. They hold personal honor above little else and his father was one of the few who to have completed a life debt. You need not worry about him attacking you while you sleep. That and he would not go for the spleen, it is bad meat. The liver is much better.” Dav paused for a moment, getting his thoughts back on track after having gone off on that tangent.

He suddenly took a step forward, remembering what she had said about introductions. “I am Davkul.” He said, placing his right hand over his chest. “Though I prefer Dav, as it is easier for me to say.” He withheld his surname, as it gave no real information on his lineage beyond his status as a fatherless bastard. “And my brother over there is Xandun Icehide. I am sure our alliance will bring good things to both parties, Aeka Rynaos Soul Alchemist.” He nodded at his statement, giving the sign that he was double affirming it.

Though beyond the introduction, he noticed that he was touching the dried blood from his wounds. Which led him to realize the results of the previous battle. In which he had lost his dagger, the food he had intended for this brother, and formed three large blood stains surrounding small holes in his cloak and shirt. “I suppose I should do something about these stains. I don’t suppose you have acquired residence for the night? I was in the middle of searching for one when we encountered one another. However, I was having little luck as the inns I visited all had rates that where more than I have.”

“Very well then, Aeka.” Dav responded to his new companion. “I will trust your judgment on what inn to take shelter in. I will fetch Xan. Wait for us a moment.” He finished before turning and beginning to walk toward the small pond where his brother was still sitting. As he stepped through the now broken fence and neared his brother, he saw that the warrior had not yet gotten over his anger.

“Xandun.” he said as he approached, keeping his voice calm so as to not provoke his brother further. “I have concluded my conversation with the Soul Alchemist. We have decided to join our forces in participating in the king’s summons.” He watched as his brother stared ahead, unresponsive. “You will aid her in battle and protect her as you do with me.” His brother scoffed.

“So you use me in your place in order to escape your own life debt.” Xandun said bitterly, refusing to look at Dav.

“No” Dav responded. “That is not the case.” He continued to explain in a calm tone. “I simply expect you to treat her with the same fashion you would a warrior of your village.”

“So I am to hunt her down and slay her in revenge for her betrayal of my father?” Xan asked sarcastically. Dav sighed.

“You know what I mean. You will treat her with the same respect you would a fellow battle companion.” Dav responded to his brother’s goading remark. “Now.” He picked up a more commanding tone. “Follow me. The Soul Alchemist knows where we can take refuge for the night.” Dav turned as he finished, and started back toward Aeka.

“Very well then, Mire Born.” Xandun spit the derogatory title out as he stood, picking up his axe and following his brother.

“We are ready, Aeka.” Dav said as he approached the Larthos. “Lead on.” He thought for a moment, after he finished. Then amended his statement. “On foot, if you will.”

Veida blinked and said nothing at first, surprised at the emotion Mairjra's voice portrayed, speaking as one who had suffered much in his life. She tilted her head forward, her blue hair falling in front of her face. Mairjra had obviously been through much, more than Veida would. She wasn't surprised when he spoke of his reason for fighting. As for herself... she did have a reason. Not one that was really reasonable, but it still counted. She knew it wouldn't be appropriate to say, especially in such a delicate situation. After a few more moments, she smiled weakly and spoke.

"Not hopeless. Just..." she paused, searching for a reasonable term. "Trusting. That's not really a bad thing. Besides, we're not complete strangers anymore, are we?" She joined her hands and laid them on the scarred wooden table.

She'd just finished eating when the serving wench removed their bowls and left them with freshly filled cups and saucer. Zoba slipped from his chair and padded over to her side of the table then settled himself down before her chair in a guarding position as two people came into the pub. Solar's violet eyes rose upwards and watched the two as they made their way into the pub and found a table next to her own.
But when the male began drawing upon mana she felt a slight tug and raising a brow she whispered three words to block it from draining any from herself. Solar let her eyes roam over the two at the table and she couldn't help but smirk at the looks they were giving each other. Giving a slight sigh she set a few coins on the table and rose from the table. "Come Zoba," and they began leaving the pub.
She was tired and her nature dictated she rest. Exiting the pub Solar made her way back up to her room locking the door as she removed her cloak again and set it on a chair. Settling on the bed Solar began humming something a little darker in tune as she laid back on the bed and softly chanted as she mildly created her homeland within the room, roots and trees sprung up about her.
Plants sprouted from the floor and within a few minutes the room was more nature then normal and she soon found herself drifting to sleep easily, a slight smile on her face knowing she'd see him again.

Davkul Mire & Xandun Icehide

Dav and his brother followed their new found companion through the streets of the city. Although they were moving at a brisk pace, Dav noticed the state of the area they were now in. It seemed to be much more rugged than the market square where he had traded the rabbit furs earlier. He briefly wondered if he could have gotten more for them in this area. Xandun spent most of the walk fantasizing about different ways to slay his half brother. Until he noticed his hunger, having not had anything to eat past midday and noticing it the darkness of night creeping in. Still, the large warrior kept silent, as he was to proud to admit his hunger to Dav so soon after their confrontation.

The two stopped with the Larthos they were following and Dav listened to her realization. Having found out that their shelter for the night was no longer assured, Dav though for a moment. “I suppose we will just have to find another place to spend the night then.” Dav noted as he began to scan the area.

Spotting a man who was in the middle of closing the doors to a large warehouse, he quickly turned to his new companion. “Hold on a moment.” He said to her before jogging off toward the man he had spotted. He spent the next few moments bartering with the man on whether or not the three could spend the night in the large structure. At first the man was skeptical, but when Dav motioned over toward his brother the man quickly nodded his head. Dav handed the man the few coins he had made earlier that day, then made his way back over to Aeka and his brother.

“The owner of this building has given us permission to rest there for the night.” He said in a slightly cheerful tone. He was happy that his bartering had been successful. “He said there is a well just around that corner…” Dav motioned to a bend down the street. “…and that he has just gotten a shipment of flour, which will make for better bedding than the ground.”

"Goodbye, Elf I enjoyed myself" Mairjra spoke softly bowing then walking away into the other direction, Mairjra shook his head walking toward Grand Palios. The building where the summons would be taking place, although he avoided this place earlier Mairjra had no where else to go than to the King of Aerios himself. As he approached the golden gates the guards simply drew their blades pointing them into the air than back at Mairjra, dropping his hood he repiled by stepping back drawing his new blade swinging it upwards, pulling back thrusting it into the air than into the ground ripping it from the cobblestone pointing it at them. The guard to the left spoke "Sir Enverson, you were welcomed into his Majesties home earlier why are you arriving now as the twilight begins" Standing straight sliding his blade back into the sheath "Complications, I had some run ins with some ruffians... the ones that are alive are planing to answer his majesties call to arms." Mairjra replied with poise. Nodding the golden gates opened before him, and with a step Mairjra headed inside then into the Grand Palios.

The inside of Palios was decorated like any royal mansion would be, golden laced rugs covered the floor in the center of each the symbol of the High Kings family: the jaded crown. The floors were mostly made of enchanted gold, silver and other substances, with a sigh Mairjra pressed on into the rest of Palios stopping right before the throne dropping to one knee as Verion The VII sat upon it. "Ah Child you have finally arrived, have you come to fill your job as the royal arch mage." Standing pushing off of his right knee "No my king, I have come for the call to arms. I mean no disrespect to you but I must see to it that their plan fails. My father has informed me already of the situation, I have come to answer the call and your request after this battle is done I will return to your side Verion" With a prideful and noble tone Mairjra spoke to king Verion, hoping that his words would spark resonance within the old king. Smiling and clapping Verion responds "You little runt, finally someone who will show back bone. I'm glad you spoke your own mind boy, you will return after the quest is over... Also stop destroying shit in my city" Verion laughed with the last words.

"My blood is yours, I swear I will hold the interest of our nation" Mairjra spoke slicing his own hand open and squeezing the blood out of his palm, Nodding Verion speaks once more " You are dismissed, the mages chambers are yours Royal Arch Mage Mairjra Enverson" With a grin he walked down the corridor to the right entering the room yawning. Throwing his blade onto the bed, Mairjra took a quick bath and returned to the bed laying down. The Arch Mages room was decorated with a higher quota, the Enverson family crest hung from the wall while the rest of the room was decorated with black white and blue silk sheets, and golden rugs. Closing his eyes "The more pawns I have the better, that elf has now joined my game" Mairjra spoke aloud before falling asleep.

The sound of the chirping birds awoke Mairjra from his deep slumber, with a drawn out yawn he rose from the bed. The king had already forced his survents to lay out new wears for the Royal Arch Mage, a title that the Enverson family has kept since the fall of the Dark Prince. When King Verion I had founded Aerios after the long and hard battle to seal away the Dark Prince, one of the surviving mages was Turen Enverson he remained loyal to the cause to keep the Dark Prince seal away. And Verion the first was the first to make this oath of loyalty, from that day on the Head of the Enverson family remained the Arch Mage of Aerios while pledging their loyalty. Pushing himself off the bed walking toward, the wardrobe that hung up the cape with the Enverson family crest hung along with a new pair of magic armor resembling what he was wearing yesterday. Dressing and cleaning his blade, as he made his way out the door and down to King Verion the VII's room.

Knocking lightly at his door sanding tall and at attention saluting his king with a bow after his servant opened the door. "My Lord" Mairjra spoke kneeling before Verion VII, "Ah well your dressed to impressed boy. How do you like your new wears?" Verion spoke glancing at Mairjra. Pushing off of his knee looking the high king in the eyes, brushing back his golden brown hair "Yes my lord thank you, it was unnecessary to gave it drawn out I would have found it" Mairjra responded trying not to sound rude as he addressed his king. "Stand beside me during the call, for it is starting now I want you to approve the men and women I send, sense you will be going with them." Nodding as Verion the VII spoke, he walked by the kings side has he reached the throne watching the people already gather shaking his head at most of them.

Mairjra needed people to travel with that would be easy to control and manipulate for them to do his bidding, no nobles nor anyone to destructive, they were unneeded and most likey would die within the first few days. Shooting back to the other day, he knew to accept the Larthos she was going to be useful, along with the elf from the night before. With a smile Mairjra yelled "Those who have answered my kings call present yourself in a orderly way, you must be cleared for this task"

Morning came early and Solar was awake before dawn, her dreams were not what she expected and a little irritated she rose early and dressed before she made her way downstairs to have something to eat.
Zoba remained behind after huffing that he was content and wished to remain in bed. When she was finished with her food Solar briskly made way down to the water front, something about the water calmed her and she needed a clear head when she went before the Royal Arch Mage to answer the call of arms. As daylight crept up and the sun although risen hid behind the clouds she sighed.
"Show time," she turned from the water and made her way to the castle.
She was one of many that had entered and made her way to the throne room to await the King's entrance. Some mingled amongst themselves, Solar remained distant taking up a glass of wine one of ther servants carried by on a tray and sipped it earnestly.
Then the doors opened and the King stepped out she drew forward with the others, the wine glass left behind on a table. Her eyes fell upon the one walking with the King and she smirked, it was the one from the pub lastnight. When the man stepped forward and yelled that those who'd come to answer the call present themselves she slowly made her way forward to stand in line and awaited her turn to present herself.
