D E C O R U S

h e i g h t x // x5' 6"

w e i g h t x // x137 lbs

h a i r x // xmidback length, dark chestnut waves. Typically just air dried and loose.

e y e s x // xdark brown

o d d i t i e s x // xterribly calloused palms, various scars - all minor.

a p p e a r a n c e x // xCherise, if she had to describe herself, would say she is classically beautiful with nasty calloused man-hands. There's nothing to really see there but some girl that grew up in California that did a lot of pointless things in life. However, when other people describe her, they talk about her smile, of which is wide and lights up a room. Her prettiest features are actually her eyes and teeth, both seeming to shine brilliantly when her soft coral lips break out into one of her endearing smiles. It's because she is always smiling that she is relatively easy on the eyes.

She loves to dress up, but keep it casual and playful at the same time. A little brightness never hurt anyone! Or a lot, in her case. Dark hues don't suit her much and kind of drown out her skin tone, and they don't fit her mood. She keeps her hair long and loose, allowing the air to dry it and for her waves to take their place. Overall, she prefers frilly dresses and adorable little outfits that make her happy to look at herself. She is womanly and soft with hints of musculature in her legs and arms reminiscent of hard labor and athleticism. She is not Ares child fit, but she definitely holds her physical self to high standards.

P E R S O N A L I T A T E
xxxxxxxxxā€¢ x outgoing x ā€¢ x spirited x ā€¢ x friendly x ā€¢ x protective x ā€¢

She is impossibly kind, and maybe even to the point of cloyingly so. There's nothing about life that she simply doesn't love, and she loves living it-- living it with others, too. She is always surrounded by people, whether they are friends or if she just started some random conversation somewhere with someone. She has a genuine desire to be liked by others, and to help others that can't always help themselves. Thus, her nurturing soul; maternal and warm to those in need, she is a caregiver of sorts in some instances. She has wonderful bedside manners in terms of healing, and utterly devoted to her friends regardless of what may transpire between them. She's hard to displease, but it is not impossible.

It isn't that other people can hurt her, it's simply that she draws up this entire daydream only for most of it to fall to pieces at her feet. She's so friendly that when others are not the same, it can be kind of disheartening. However, she tries not to get too upset by it. She can begin to feel jealous, though, and that is her biggest and heaviest negative emotion. Jealousy can sometimes drive her kindness if she is not careful, and it can also make her more sweet than usually - overly so, scarily so. It can be downright creepy and stalker-like. If jealousy is borne of material things, she will seek ways to obtain it. If it is borne of self-reflection, she will find a way to change it. If it is a man, she might stalk him. A friend, she might try to get in their way hoping that they will eventually befriend her. While this is all a rarity, when the green-eyed monster strikes, the outcome is always unfavorable.

Her protective nature stems from having to deal with her step-father, of whom was an abusive figure in her life. Cherise has always been scared of him, but she was forced to stand up to him often. She feels the same way when she is defending other: brave on the outside but trembling on the inside. Maybe it makes her stupid, she doesn't know. She believes that she has a duty to those that couldn't stand up for themselves; someone that she needed when she was younger and more vulnerable. She sees herself in others, and the urge to change it just takes over the fear of confrontation. Until she is alone - then she can worry about the latter.

To say the Daughter of Apollo felt comfortable with this situation was a lie. Despite the fact that she sat next to Daniel, who was seated next to Rae, in a calm and warmly smiling disposition meant very little. There was no doubt that emotions were running thick in the air - with worry, doubt, fear, bitterness. Her fingers played with the hem of her oversized polka dot sweater, but she tried her best not to appear anymore awkward and apprehensive as everyone else did. After all, she was supposed to be smiling.

Unlike others, she had no words to share with the gods. It wasn't her place, and she didn't enjoy being the center of attention. At least, she wasn't going to let people know that she might enjoy it a little. Her dark eyes drifted to Sylas, head tilted slightly to the right - then flit toward Liam. Her gaze was owlish - curious and large, but they withheld judgment. She had no idea what was going on. Aside from the fact that she knew Sylas had been hurt just the other day, who was she to start imagining scenarios in her head? There was no way to know who was at fault, or if any of them were. Honestly, she just wanted to stay out of it.

Her teeth chewed at her lip as everyone began to embark on their own personal hell, and she wondered exactly what she would go through. Cherise could hardly be as attentive to everyone else as she should have been because she was scared of what was in store for herself. What secrets would come out? She had many shadows to cast, being as bright as she is. Didn't she?

Demigods were facing scenarios like death in scenes that had far too much gore than she wanted to see. They faced loss of all kinds - mental, emotional, personal... a loss of a sense of self. Secrets and desires were laid bare, and people's true faces were shown to everyone that they wished to hide from.

Daniel's would have been confusing had he not finally confessed to her just the other afternoon. Cherise wondered how it must feel to watch one's own self be so easily erased from the memories of their loved ones. A pang of sadness hit her when she realized that people could be erased in this world as easily as one breathes. The gods wouldn't really do that. Would they? She looked up at them quietly as Daniel came back to his seat.

As a comfort, she reached over to him and gently took his hand to hold in his lap without any words.

Then it was Rae's turn, and she watched the Moon-child proudly march herself toward the arena. That woman never did anything without expressing herself to the fullest. Part of Cherise worried deeply for the outcome of the Demigod's threatening words, but... certainly, Rae wouldn't allow herself to become so warped. She never did anything like that despite her brazen personality.

Cherise saw... hesitation in Rae's trial. She understood in a way. Rae always came first in everything. That was just how she chose to survive this world. To see and hear her best friend stepping out of the illusion without realizing that it was over for a long minute or two was painful. Cherise cringed and wished that it would be over. Rae decided not to sit by anyone, and Cherise chose to leave her be because she knew that the woman's dignity and pride were deeply bruised.

How could she be a part of two people's insecurities? The thought made her feel slightly uncomfortable. She didn't like the idea of being any kind of burden. She looked down at her feet, and before she knew it... it was her turn.

Cherise stood up and quietly marched down toward the arena. The woman trembled noticeably, even nearly tripping over nothing at all. She exchanged a brief glance with her father, and he silently gestured encouragement. Of all the gods, he was - at the very least - one of the nicer ones.

When Cherise stepped through the archway, a bare foot landed in something... wet and warm. It smelled like fire, but it also smelled like rain. It felt like she had been in flight or fight mode - in the middle of a battle that had the Sunchild split into two. There was a sense in this scene that this particular unrest had been a long time in the making - a seed watered over time with envy, jealousy, bitterness, etc - so that it could blossom into this violent bloom of war. It was clear that she didn't know her place in this mess that was Camp Athens.

As she walked, people were fighting. Powers could be seen as far and wide as ever - crashing with one another. People ran around her, but no one came after her. They didn't have any faces. They were just bodies with familiar powers and something like... feelings. She knew who they were, and she knew that they were friends. Cherise considered everyone at Camp Athens to be a friend until they showed themselves as the enemy.

People were dying here. She didn't know who to run to or who to leave behind. Who were the enemies? Who were friends? Where were the archaic beasts or the monsters of myth?

You need to choose a side, Cherise, voices whispered to her like a choir in tandem. She knocked an arrow and raised her bow, encircled by these faceless entities.

These entities began to throw their powers at each other - all of them missing her by fractions of a centimeter. Bodies were dropping, she spun around trying to figure out who was the threat and who was not. The feelings that attached themselves to these beings spanned the spectrum from amorous and platonic to confusion and dislike. She loosed an arrow and it plunged into one chest, then she notched another one to do it again.

She thought she had gotten rid of all the negative emotions, so she dropped to her knees and scrambled to save the ones that were attached to love and friendship. When all was done, she stood up and looked around. Faces revealed themselves for only a split second before vanishing, and her eyes widened. These faces were seen by her eyes only, leaving the Demigods to wonder who was who as they looked upon her illusion.

No one was who she thought they were.

A knife plunged into her from behind, and she fell onto the blood-soaked ground. At that moment, just when her final breath was about to leave, the illusion shattered and she was back in the arena. Cherise stayed on the floor, believing that she was dying when she was actually just laying there face down, breathing just fine. Crying quietly. She wondered how she could make such horrible mistakes.

It took her a few seconds to realize that she was on the arena floor. Cherise stood, wiped away her tears, and moved back to her seat. Nothing made any sense as it stood right now. She looked toward Daniel and wondered if he caught his face among those with the arrow in the chest, and she placed her hands in her lap.

She looked up at her father and wondered if maybe this was him trying to tell her that there was a deep wound in this Camp. She thought now that it might not do to be Switzerland in this place. Since she had been here, she hadn't paid close attention to what was happening. Instead, she allowed herself to be swept up in something that easily blinded even the most observant person. Cherise had to train, learn, and find her place. If there was a wound somewhere in this place, maybe she could help it heal before it split the Camp into two.

Athena- Goddess of Wisdom

Demeter- Goddess of Harvest

Up in Olympus where things were much calmer, Athena let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Seeing these trials was not easy to watch, even for her. Heath's trial was the hardest watch for her personally, even though it was very tame. Maybe it was because that WAS her son. Athena would be honest, she was never the most maternal compared to others like Hestia and Demeter, but she still cared for all of her offspring. The outbursts of Ares's boy and Artemis's daughter were very disrespectful, but Athena believed in hearing both sides of the story so she didn't dismiss their words outright. She had been watching the entire situation through a huge mirror in her private chambers. Her thoughts were interrupted though when Demeter knocked on the door and came in.

"Athena, I heard that Hephaetus finished making that pendant for Lia. I know Hecate was suppose to work on it next, do you know where she is?"

"Come over here and see for yourself."

Demeter came over just in time to see Cherise's trial.

"What is going on? What is Poseidon, Apollo, and the others doing?"

"Showing their deepest secrets, fears, and hidden pasts. There was another fight and Poseidon has had enough so he's having others 'bear their souls' so it's an even playing field. Heath has already gone. Iliana hasn't gone yet. I wouldn't be surprised if her trial was about what happened to her father and her imprisonment."

Demeter's face paled.

"No . . . . she hasn't recovered and her mind couldn't handle remember everything. She doesn't even remember she killed her father's murderer."

"She could use this to become stronger though. This could also be a message to others why they must be careful around humans. Have faith in your daughter, Demeter and even if she breaks, Heath and the others will help her mend. Isn't that why Apollo told Cherise a bit about Iliana?"

Demeter, trying to keep herself together, just stared as the trials continue.

Ethan was starting to feel uncomfortable as the trials continued. Heath was very rattled after him and he was a very stable person. Ethan, who could be an emotional person, couldn't help but feel his own anxiety rise up as he watched Daniel's trial. Even Heath had somewhat recovered and paid close attention to Daniel's. The man perplexed him so he wanted some understanding of what was up with this guy. However, the trial only confused Heath more. He died? Or did he fear dying? Heath wasn't in the state to think about it more. He felt a lot of sympathy about the last part of his trial though. No one wanted to be forgotten.

Poor Iliana couldn't look at any of the trials. She kept her face covered in her hands and literally buried herself into Heath's shoulder. It was bad enough that she could feel the emotions from those in the arena, she didn't need to see what was happening. She tried shutting her mind down, but couldn't, the emotions were too strong. The despair she felt from Daniel was almost too much. Due to her own emotional turmoil, it had started to rain outside the arena.

Nelly honestly didn't know how she should act at a time like this. It certainly wasn't a good time to be 'light-hearted'. One thing was for sure, she wasn't bound to blast at the gods like Liam did. What was wrong with the guy? He was only going to make himself look worse. Then Rae came up and let her opinion be known too. Her fellow red-head seemed to be the smart type, the fact that she basically back talked to her mother was not a smart movie. Sure, Nelly, had gotten into trouble with her own mother, but even she knew not to talk back in a public setting. Still, she could help but feel bad for both. She thought about her father, Hermes, he was hardly ever around, but Nelly didn't know what he was doing. Her mother raised her to never jump the gun until she knew all the facts. It was one of the most important rules she had as a journalist. She had seen how corrupted journalists or any news media people could get and was determined not to be that way, something Nelly admired. Watching Rae's trial it was pretty standard, but not less scary, especially Rae's reaction. Up next was Evelyn. Now her trial was the most unique. It didn't have any death, but instead something completely different. Who was the guy in her vision? Nelly would ask her later when she got the chance. She didn't expect an answer, but Nelly's curiosity was peaked. After Evelyn, the guy she just met, Wesley, was up. His was another heartbreaker. Yeah she could see why he didn't want to be useless. Heath felt the same way. He knew he was a fighter, but a planner. But everyone did have their place and he was positive Wes would find his.

Finally it came time for Cherise. Concern over Apollo's daughter caused Iliana to look at the girl briefly as she went through the portal. A part of her wish she hadn't done that though for the scenario was something Iliana couldn't keep her eyes away. It was something she would have feared seeing also- civil war. It was pitiful, but Iliana was a bit glad the faces were blurred, otherwise she would have probably gone berserk. Once the trial was over, Iliana made a mental note to check on her and Wesley after this was over and also Sloane.

As soon as Cherise took her seat, Poseidon spoke up, "Penelope Givens, step up!"

Nelly took a deep breath as she stood up.

"Whelp, wish me luck guys," she said with a nervous laugh.

Anyone could tell she was scared. Wanting to get it done and over with, Nelly walked quickly to the portal. She did hesitate for a minute, looking at her fellow campers, she gave one more brave, but fake, smile with thumbs up before going through it.

She was exploring and in her natural element. She'd been lucky to get permission to explore a tropical rainforest. If only she could share this moment with her mother. She could tolerate the humidity. She was from Louisiana after all. Looking at the environment around her, she notice that it was starting to get dark. Time to set up camp. Setting up her tent, she heard a bunch of noises, but it didn't bother her, at least not a first. Was that crying? What a strange thing to hear. Unless it was a baby animal looking for it's mother. The need to check it out overwhelmed her senses and she decided to investigate it, taking her water, compass, and flashlight with her. She couldn't find the source of the cry, but she came across something odd though. It looked like a newspaper article on the trunk of a tree. In big bold letters, the headline was this-

Disgraced Journalist Linda Givens sent to an Asylum

"WHAT?! This is so a lie! Mother was never crazy!"

Reading the article out loud, the story went out one of her mother's articles caught attention from the wrong people and they set about to bring out her downfall, from playing tricks on her to talking about her past love affairs, even with a local state representative. Nelly found herself shaking as she collapsed to her knees. Lies! All lies! She kept repeating the words over and over, not realizing she was shouting out loud. She had to get out of here and help her mother! Rushing back towards her camp, she suddenly stumbled over a tree root, and fell forward, but instead of falling into the ground, the ground vanished and she fell into a deep hole. Suddenly she saw spikes coming at her at a fast rate. Having a fear of needles and a low pain-tolerances she cried out teleported herself out of her situation, only to end back up in fairly normal situation. She was in the home of her mother, only she was 6 years old and crying.

"Mommy, I had a scary dream . . . . ."

The auburn hair woman just looked at her with a smile.

"Sorry to hear that dearies. Lunch is ready, I'd thought I try something different. It's peanut butter and jelly. Try it, you might like it."

The little girl took a bite of it, only to suddenly start choking as her face swelled as well as her neck. She could hardly hear her mother break out into a scream as she collapsed and started shaking like she was convulsing. Was this how she died? Those were her final thoughts as everything went black.

"OH F--k!" Nelly gasped as air returned to her lungs.

Scrambling up, she quickly checked her neck before remembering everything had been an illusion. That last one had been an actual memory though. Not a fun way to discover she had a nut allergy. Lucky for Nelly, her father had suddenly turned up at that exact moment with Apollo in tow. He had to literally dragged the sun god with him when he saw Nelly collapse. Being a fast traveling god had it's advantages. Making sure she was okay though, Nelly got up, although she discovered there were still tears in her eyes. The idea of anything happened to her mother terrified her as nothing else did and she knew she'd be contacting her soon for reassurance.

"I hope never to do that again," Nelly commented to no one in particular as she staggered back to her seat.

Sylas continued to remain silent and vigilant as more trials unfolded before him. First there was Wes, the glorified big brother of camp. And while his trial might have seemed harsh or sad to the others at camp, Sylas couldn't help but agree with some of the things the people in the illusion said. The son of Aphrodite has yet to prove himself to be competent in battle or anything else for that matter. If there was a battle tomorrow, he'd also want him off the battlefield. People like that just get in the way and end up getting more people hurt than helping.

Next was Cherise, a sweet, yet naive girl... Or, at least, that's how she seemed the few times Sylas had encountered her. Similarly to Wes, she seemed to be the type where 'most' people at camp liked them. Nice, friendly... Which just makes them a liability. Her trial also included a battle, but this one seemed far more interesting. No looming monsters or impending doom. This was civil war. Demigod against demigod. No punches held, no quarter given. He'd be lying if he said he hadn't felt the scales tip toward this outcome more and more each day. All and all it was a trial that would make the highlight reel for him.

Then there was the strange girl he shared the closet with the other day... Penelope. Sylas didn't know what he expected from her trial... more? He watched the whole thing unfold only to leave him in a strange state of confusion. So, her mother is nuts and she has a nut allergy, poetic. Hardly anything was useful from that, unless he wanted to kill the girl. He might be an ass, but he hardly saw her as a threat. It'd be a waste of his time and effort to murder her.

And then... the worst. "Sylas Astor." As his name was called the shackles between his hands disappeared into a fine dust that was swept away in the wind. "Step forward."

It wasn't facing his fears or whatever dark repressed secrets that frightened him. It was being stripped naked before all of camp. Sylas had this facade and he wore it quite well. It let him move behind the curtain, but remain in plain sight. He worried about what could be revealed before everyone. Once even a glimmer of the real man inside shines threw, it'd make his life a living hell for the remainder of his time there. Not to mention what Evelyn thought... She vexed him in a way he couldn't explain. It could be fleeting, but at the moment it wasn't. He warned her that he was a bad man, which is more than he does for a lot of people. But words are just... words. This would be actions.

Sylas sighed softly and pushed off his knees as he stood. He made his way down into the center of the arena and appear before the portal. He dared not look to anyone before stepping through, nothing they could do or offer would ease his discomfort.

It was dark. There was something heavy in his hand that made his shoulder ache from wielding it for far too long. He let it fall from his grasp. The sound of metal clanging against the ground rang through his ears. Sylas opened his eyes and looked down, finding his sword on the ground in a crimson tide.

His chest heaved heavily as tried to catch his breath, winded from over exertion. Sylas wiped sweat from his brow that dripped from his forehead. Was it sweat? It felt heavy on his skin and didn't burn his eyes. The fluid was sticking in his palms every time he opened and closed his hands. He looked down. Blood.

As his eyes fixated on his fingers, something else came into view from his periphery. A hand.

He gulped as he follow the appendage up the arm, across the shoulder, along the neck to the face. Liam's face. Then halfway across his torso was a leg, Trinity's leg. And her arm was pinned beneath another body, Wes. And then another and another. One body after the other piled and strewn across one another. A grotesque mound of corpses like a poor man's Spartan wall. Sylas's gaze followed the mountain of death, staring into each set of lifeless eyes until he found a crimson lock of hair. There she was. Evelyn. Her body draped across the peak like a discarded toy. And on her back, stood a pair of feet.

Eris, like the Goddess she was, stood upon the lifeless platform looking down at him. She looked untouched by the massacre, as if she had be set down on top like the star on a Christmas tree. Untouched. Her toga was without a single drop of blood. She carried no weapon. Her hands were bare and still as they rested clasped before her. "Is this it?" She asked. The Goddess took a step back. She hooked her right foot under Evelyn's corpse and gave it a shove. Sylas stood in silence as he watched the red head twist and contort inhumanly as her body rag dolled to the bottom, landing at his feet in a puddle of blood.

"What?" His hands trembled as everything began to spin. There was a pit in his stomach that knotted threatening to expel whatever remained inside.

Then, slowly, Eris descended the hill like a grand staircase. Not once did she miss a step or falter. She found footing against Mason's head, Ajax's back, Heath's chest, and so on, as she made her way down to him. Like in slow motion, she leaned down and picked up his bloodied sword, holding it in her hand as if she studied it. "I said to kill every demigod at camp." Her voice sounded almost annoyed at his lack of following a simple instruction.

Sylas stood there confused, brows furrowing as she scanned the mound, looking between it and his mother. "I did what you asked. Camp is empty!"

Without another word, a small figure stepped out from behind Eris and wrapped their delicate hand around the hilt of the sword. Sloane. The petite brunette studied the weapon as she stepped forward. "She said every demigod." And before he had a chance to say another word, she took his weapon and plunged it through his chest. "You missed one."

Sylas clutched his chest as his legs buckled, sending him down to his knees. He started coughing and wheezing as the blood filled his lungs.

Eris took a step forward, taking ahold of his chin to tilt his head up to look at her. "My dear boy." She wiped a bit of the blood from his mouth. "It was never going to be you."

With that and nothing more to say, the Goddess took Sloane's arm. Then with a single blink they were gone, leaving Sylas inches deep in a bloody pool of his own making. He tried to crawl, but only made it a couple feet before falling onto the ground. One more cough and gasp for air, then everything went cold and the vision faded from his eyes.

One second passed. And then another...

Then Sylas shot up, coughing and gasping for air. Each breath he took was sharper than the last. His hand furiously ripped open his shirt, searching for the wound but found nothing. Yet he still could feel the cold metal and sharp sting. He stubbled to his feet. But it was only when his gaze found the Gods in the pulvinus and the demigods in the stands that it all came rushing back.

He was embarrassed... And raw. He hated it.

Sylas didn't dare meet the gaze of anyone as he quickly made his way back to his seat without a word. And remained there unchanging like a statue.

Daniel Vadas
Hecate | HEX: #8b9068 | Outfit

ImageHonestly Daniel wasn't paying attention to the to'ing and fro'ing between a demigod and gods. It was just background noise. Instead, he stared off vacantly trying to wrap his own head around his own personalised hell. He felt somebody take his hand but he didnā€™t react. The lighting of the arena changed meaning somebody had entered the archway again but he couldn't bring himself to pay attention.

That's why when some arms suddenly wrapped around him from behind he jumped slightly, quickly recovering when he realized it was only Andy. He held onto her arms gently offering a little smile. "I'm sorry. I love you," she whispered. Daniel pressed his head against hers. "And I thought about you every single day that you were gone... So did mason."

He nodded a little. Andy acknowledging his fears and assuring him only seemed to release the emotions as a couple more tears escaped him. Her arms tightened around him. "I will never ever forget you... The memories we've shared are far too precious and I wouldn't trade them for anything." His little sister wiped away a tear and kissed his cheek. "Ok?"

Daniel half reached back cupping her head and kissed her cheek in return. "Ok," he whispered back and ruffled her hair slightly. He leaned his head against hers embracing his sister the best he could in these circumstances.

Hearing Cheriseā€™s name called grabbed his attention. Daniel watched Rae battle flame and smoke to get to her when his own voice emerged. Wait, was that him? Daniel frowned a little. He might have something more than a crush for Cherise but he wasnā€™t looking to get between someā€¦sismance or disregard Raeā€™s own life. Although thatā€™s probably not what he should have taken away from the red headā€™s trial.

And then one Evelyn Masters was called. Was she prepared to face such an illusion? It's not that he thought she was fragile but she didn't deserve to go through it, and she was so put together, he didn't want more broken demigods among them. Besides, Evelyn and Cherise had been such blocks for him. For a time through the archway, Evelyn was herself, in control, calling the shots but rather quickly that slipped when a gun was pressed to her head. Things spiralled from there like some kind of tug-of-war that she couldn't quite ever win. Daniel tilted his head slightly at the conclusion. Most of the trials were self-explanatory but hers didn't speak as clearly.

Daniel gave Andy's arms a little squeeze, grateful for her support and presence. But even more because his sister, who had been through so much crap, also had to step through the archway yet. And really who the hell knew what would manifest for her. While he worried for his sister, another person held dear was called upon. Cherise.

She marched herself down to the dreaded archway, her illusion mimicking the chaos of camp in an enlarged form. Some civil war-like scenario, with glimpses of features on faceless folks, that Cherise thrust herself in the middle of. Did she think the camp was that out of control? When a knife went through her, Daniel jolted. He sighed out shaking his head to himself. "This is such bullcrap," he whispered to Andy. "It's a good way to get us to turn against Zeus's kids, old slendy and big Jumbo over there."

Trying not to add to Cherise's exposure, Daniel looked for Mason, sitting by Trinity. Two more people his sweet sister loved and would be pained by seeing their trials. "Whatever happens in yours, or theirs, we've got each other. It's an illusion, not a prediction." Something Daniel had to convince himself as well.

To be immortal in history, you had to be a hero or accomplish something truly special. Nobody was really remembered forever...

"Ok," was all Daniel said as he ruffled her hair a bit before leaning into her embrace. Andy remained there awhile longer, wanting to make it all the more clear that he was ok. It all sucked, there was no other way to put it. Watching each other, one by one, walk into an illusion to face whatever darknesses their souls held. Some people didn't deserve this... Others did.

As that thought crossed her mind, Andy looked up slightly, just enough to scan the crowd. When there was no sight of Ajax or Alex, her brows furrowed. Poseidon or Liam might have mentioned it through their bickering, but she hardly paid attention to it. She thought at least they would be there to watch, even if daddy Zeus kept them from partaking.

Her jaw clenched subconsciously as she rested her chin on her brother's shoulder. Bullshit. They have to go through this shit because of the fighting at camp... And one of the most recent people to be in a fight wasn't there?! Not only was Andy terrified of what she might face but now she was just mad. How Alex got so many breaks just baffled her. If the tables had been turned... If Andy was the one to nearly kill Alex? She'd be rotting in the Underworld.

And wherever they went... Ajax didn't even bother to say good bye. Andy sighed. She wouldn't let the Valises plagued her thoughts. Not anymore.

Her attention was brought back to more pressing matters, when Daniel gave her arm a gentle squeeze. She could tell he was worried for her. Andy wanted to reassure him that she would be ok... But she couldn't make that promise. If what she would see in there is anything like what she's been imagining... She wasn't ready.

Andy watched Cherise's trial, if only because Daniel seemed very concerned by it. She didn't know the girl very well, besides her helping Andy at her brother's request. He cared for her. She didn't know on what level, but she could tell by his body language. The civil war scene that played out felt all too real... and possible. Could camp really be going in that direction? It felt like everyday that passed more and more of them turned on one another.

Then a knife found its way into the brunette's chest causing Daniel to jump. Andy grimaced, knowing all too well the pain of watching someone you care about die. "This is such bullcrap," he whispered. "It's a good way to get us to turn against Zeus's kids, old slendy and big Jumbo over there."

She swallowed hard, pulling away slightly. "...Both of you don't deserve this," Andy said about the pair of them, Daniel and Cherise. "I'm not so sure about myself. I've been in the middle of a lot of conflicts at camp. Not to mention the fight the other day." It was a truth she hadn't quite realized until that moment. Everything Poseidon was talking about, all the fighting... She was part of it too. She was always in the middle of it, Mason, Ajax, Alex.

Daniel turned to look toward Mason and Trinity, which only made Andy's heart sink more. She didn't know what was going to be worse, her own trial or watching everyone she cares about suffer. It really was just shit either way. "Whatever happens in yours, or theirs, we've got each other. It's an illusion, not a prediction."

Andy sighed and nodded her head. She let her gaze skim the crowd once more. There wasn't many of them left. A pit grew in her stomach. "It won't be long before we go. There isn't much of us left..." She gave her brother one last embrace. "I'll leave you to help her."

With her bravest smile, which was lacking, she moved to her feet and made her way back to her seat between Trinity and Mason. As Andy sat back down, she wasted no time in taking back Mason's hand, sliding her fingers between his. She didn't care who saw or what they thought. Her brave facade quickly started to crumble in his presence. She was never particularly good at masking her real feelings around him. And she knew the trials were only going to get worse. "It won't be long now..."

Theo unfurled from his wolf state back into his normal self as he broke the tree line to camp. The best part about living at the edge of camp, among the outermost forest, was being able to come and go as he pleased without anyone really knowing. Still, he had to admit to himself that he had probably been going on his wolf trips a bit too frequently lately, neglecting his duty to "watch over" the camp. Things were just so tense. Theo didn't care for the fact that people he cared for were literally clashing with one another. He certainly didn't like the idea of having to pick a side. Sometimes, it was just easier for him to get away.

Upon approaching his cabin, Theo noticed that camp was eerily quiet. The usual faint noise of mid day bustle from the heart of camp that only he would be able to hear from this distance was notably absent. It did not necessarily draw too much concern from him though. Theo opted for a much needed quick shower and a change of clothes. He stepped out on his balcony for a brief moment to look out over the camp. Hmmmm... not a person in sight. Theo scooped up his bow and quiver, slinging them over his shoulder as he set out on his way. As he made his way down the path, he started to pick up faint murmurs from the direction of the arena. Theo felt an uneasiness come over him. Having everyone gathered in one place at this time of day was uncommon unless something important was happening. Can I not come back to a normal day for once? The noises got more distinct as he came closer and closer to the arena. He was to the point where he could basically pick out certain voices. Theo slowed slightly to listen more intently.

ā€Wesley Preston, please step forward.ā€

What the hell? Was that... Poseidon? Why was he here? What in the world was going on? Theo was thoroughly confused. As he approached the arena, he chose to enter with caution. Circling around to the back, Theo peeked into the arena just in time to see Wes disappear into the archway. No one could really see him yet, so he used the moment to take in the situation. There were the gods standing around that ominous looking archway, facing Theo's fellow campers. The campers' expressions were a mix between nervous and mortified. The Valis' were nowhere to be found. They must have left for Olympus in his absence. Theo caught a glimpse of Trinity. She looked bothered, distressed even. Andy looked nervous. Then there were the gods, Theo's mother Artemis among them. They looked annoyed. For some reason, Artemis had her gaze trained on Rae with a look of disappointment that was eerily familiar to Theo. What the hell was that about?

Turning his attention to what was going on with Wes in the archway, Theo tried to figure out what was going on. This whole situation looked downright brutal. Wes was in a battle on the camp grounds. Everyone was there. Itā€™s not like what was going on in the archway was an inaccurate representation of Wes in battle. Then, out of nowhere, Theo heard himself. He was right there, kissing Trinity. Theo felt a twinge of longing as he watched archway Trinity tell archway Theo that she loved him. That moment clearly destroyed Wes, and Theo watched as Wes succumbed to the battle around him. He wasnā€™t sure where it came from, but Theo actually felt bad for Wes as he appeared back in the arena. He almost came out of the shadows then. He just wasnā€™t really sure what was going on yet. Staying put, he watched as Cherise, Penelope, Sylas, Liv, and Ethan came in and out of the archway, each one experiencing things just as shattering as the one before.

With his hand keen on his bow, he finally stepped into view of the gathering and spoke up. "Hi... ummmm sorry I missed the memo on the camp meeting, but can someone please tell me what the hell is going on here? Theo's confusion certainly came out in his tone and body language as he glanced between the campers and the gods before setting his eyes on Artemis. "Mother?" basically shrugging the question in the direction of his mother, looking for answers.

Theo's mother smiled at him gently. "Theo dear, I was wondering where you were. Please, relax your bow hand." Artemis spoke calmly, almost too calmly for Theo's liking considering the anxious state of his friends. "Several of us on Olympus decided the drama and fighting was getting out of hand. We are simply here to set the priorities straight at this camp. That being said, we felt it necessary to put each one of you through a trial of sorts. Make you face your fears. Allow you to see the consequences should you as a group continue to put drama before training, or, in your case, not be present at all."

Theo eased up slightly, letting his right hand fall away from his bow and to his side. "Fighting? I've only been gone a day and a half..." his voice trailed off as he took another look at the campers. It was at this point that Theo noticed Mason's face. He had certainly been involved in one of these fights. Theo slowly made his way over to the group of campers. "I assume since I'm here, you have a trial prepared for me as well. Let's get on with it, I guess."

Theo took his seat right behind Trinity, leaning forward to whisper to her. "I wasn't gone that long. What the hell happened?"

Theo's anxiety rose as he watched the trials, waiting on his turn to come up. The idea of having his deepest fears brought out in this illusion made his head spin. There was no telling what he had coming.

Theo looked on intently as Trinity's trial unfolded. He wasn't necessarily surprised that he got a starring role in her illusion, but that didn't make it any less gut wrenching. Watching Trinity destroy Wes and himself made him wince more than once. Then there was the big revelation. Trinity loved Wes, and there was nothing he could do about it... Theo hung his head when Trinity found herself back in the arena. Looking at her was too hard. Obviously he mattered to her, but apparently he didn't matter enough. He tried to refocus as Iliana went through her trial, as brutal as it was. Her trial felt different, almost more like a memory than a nightmare. As Iliana emerged from the archway, Poseidon's gaze fell on Theo, causing a lump to arise in his throat.

"Theophilus Smith, please step forward."

Time felt like it froze. Mythical monsters, other demigods, war... none of it had ever really scared Theo. This was different though. His friends were about to find out what Theo truly feared. Hell, Theo was about to find out himself. After what felt like an eternity, he stepped forward, pausing at the arch to glance at his mother. She nodded at him softly. Why was she making him go through this?

As Theo stepped through the archway, the world around him changed. Camp, he was at camp. There was a menacing looking army of mythological creatures gathering across the clearing. Were they in a battle? The campers were all staring intently at him, like they were waiting on him to speak. Why would they be looking at him? "What's the plan? Where is Ajax?" Theo questioned, locking eyes with Andy.

Andy's face dropped, "Theo... Ajax is gone. As for the plan, we were waiting on you to tell us. You ARE the leader now."

Theo broke eye contact with Andy. Why was Ajax gone? Why was he all of a sudden the leader? He hated when people were relying on him. He couldn't lead, not with these stakes. This battle was clearly going to be a nasty one. Theo looked across the field again, and then back to the campers, his gaze finally landing on Trinity. Not her, too. Even she was eagerly looking at him, waiting for answers.

"I... ummmm..." Theo was stammering, nerves evident in his tone, "Look, I don't have some big plan. It's not like anyone ever follows a plan anyway. Play to your strengths. Just fight like hell. We're demigods, that's what we do." They were all just looking at him, hanging on every word as if it was gospel. How did Ajax always do this? No wonder he's a mess. This pressure was suffocating. "Go! Let's go!" Theo stepped forward, looking for his vantage point where he could be most effective with his bow and arrow. The campers bumped him as they charged past him. They just took off, no questions asked. It's not like he had come up with a good plan, or really any plan at all. Why hadn't Andy, or Trinity, or even Mason questioned him? Theo shook his head, taking off for a tree at the edge of the woods. The opposing sides were charging at each other. The battle was about to begin, and Theo readied his bow and arrow.

Then the clash happened, and everything became a blur. Theo was doing his best, picking off enemies from a distance. It just wasn't helping much. Things were not looking pretty. These monsters were strong, and there were too many of them. He watched as Daniel and Cherise were swallowed by a crowd of monsters. No... He shot arrows in their direction, but it was too late. They were already being torn apart. Theo scanned the field, his attention falling on Andy and Trinity. At least they were holding their own for the time being. He spotted Evelyn and Sylas getting overpowered by a team of monsters. Ethan, Heath, Iliana, Penelope... they were all going down. Then completely across the battlefield, he caught a glimpse of Rae, unloading her own quiver of arrows as enemies ate up ground between edge of the battle and her tree. Mason was in a sticky situation as well. Theo watched as Andy left Trinity's side to help Mason, but even she was knocked off her feet and enveloped in monsters as she ran to him.

Helplessness... that is what Theo felt in this moment. He could not help the people he cared about. He could not save the camp that was his home. They had all looked to him for answers, and he had none.

"Trinity!"

Wes' voice jerked Theo out of his self pity. He was in as bad a spot as anyone else, surrounded by enemies that even the strongest of them would struggle against. Trinity must have heard him too because she was making a beeline straight across the battlefield to Wes. She got to him, throwing monsters off of him as she tried to pull him together. From Theo's view it was too late, but he fired arrows in their direction anyway. He had to protect Trinity at all costs. He wouldn't lose her too. Trinity was frantic, trying to bring Wes to and fight off everything around her at the same time.

"Wes, Wes, wake up! Come on! Don't do this! You have got to wake up. I need you Wes, come on! Wake up!" Did Trinity really care that much for Wes? Theo had never heard Trinity admit she needed anyone. Could she really not live without Wes?

Then Theo saw it, a huge dog like creature heading right at Trinity. Theo leapt from his tree, transforming into his wolf form on his way down. He had to get to her. Now, would be a great time for Trinity to suddenly develop super senses like Theo. He had to get close enough for him to warn her, but time was short. The dog was faster than him, but Theo pressed on. Trinity would not leave Wes, and she would never see the creature coming. Go... go.. go... Theo was almost there. He leapt in the air, transforming back into himself, stretching his voice as far as he could, "Trinity! Watch..."

He never had a chance to finish the words as Trinity was blindsided by the creature and slammed to the ground. The sound of her scream was too much. Theo dropped to his knees. He had failed. Everyone he cared for was going to die, and it was all his fault. All he could do was sit there, defeated. Theo closed his eyes, accepting his fate, waiting for whatever came. He barely felt it as he was knocked on his back, something with sharp teeth tearing into him. As everything faded to black Theo realized what exactly was killing him.

Wolves...

Theo came to on all fours in the arena. It took his brain a moment to process that everything he had just experienced wasn't real. It was just an illusion, a damn good illusion. That didn't change anything, though. He felt the eyes of his fellow campers on him, as he lifted his head, looking at no one in particular. He couldn't, not in this moment. They all knew now. Theo could never lead. He was just going disappoint everyone. Theo staggered his way onto his feet, and took his place back with his friends, slightly away from the rest of the group this time.
