h e i g h t x // x5'11"

w e i g h t x // x163 lbs

h a i r x // xbrown short and thick hair.

e y e s x // xhe classes them as a dark blue, and not like the deep blue sea, more like an onyx blue crossover, and some class that combination as green. But details...details...

o d d i t i e s x // xhe has a mean looking scar on his back and front where the spear went through his chest. Keith doesn't know how obtained it, he presumes some childhood accident. Keith also wears glasses.

a p p e a r a n c e x // xKeith isn't particularly intimidating or gods gift to women but he can be endearing in that dorky/dweeby way, and he does have a firm athletic build. He's not exactly bulky like some other gym junkies, but he's happy being him. Comfortable as he can be in his own skin anyway.
Daniel owns his skin on the other hand and is usually accompanied by some playful grin or smirk.

P O W E R S

w i t c h c r a f tx // x Witchcraft covers a great variety of magic and it is all ready for disposal at Daniel's fingertips. He excels in illusion casts.
c o n j u r a t i o n x // x Daniel can get a little inventive and crafty with this gift, mostly conjuring up horror icons and wicked beasties.
r e a l i t yxm a n i p u l a t i o n // x Daniel has never enjoyed a power or made more use of a power then sucking someone into a "vivid illusion."
m e d i u mx // x The dead mustn't like him because while he is supposed to possess such an ability to see dead people, he can't.

P R O F I C I E N C I E S

c h a r i s m a t i c x // x He doesn't know how he does it but he has a certain charm and energy that can attract people towards him or talk them into an essentially bad idea. If it's not via charisma, it's through cunning.
d a n c i n g x // x Music does amazing things to his soul and thankfully he is gifted in rhythm and movement and is often looking to get others off the wall and moving too.
c u n n i n g x // x Daniel's cunning is certainly undersold and the worse mistake people can make is not thinking it dangerous.

W E A K N E S S E S

e x e r t i o n x // x Between dark spells and casts, and casts that require a lot of focus and power, Daniel tries them anyway and may experience a severe drain in energy or karma.
p l a y f u l x // x It's not that he can't grasp severity of situations, it's that he wants to lighten to mood, and keep those grey clouds away from him if he can. Thus, more often than not, Daniel can be perceived as 'too playful.'
i n d u l g e n tx // x He doesn't see it as a weakness, more entertaining and leading a luxurious life. To others however, he may appear selfish and immature which apparently is a bit of a people repellent.

F E A R S

u n d e r a c h i e v e r x // x A key reason to Daniel attending camp is so he can advance on his powers and help amplify himself so he can assure when he goes down, it's in a blaze of glory. He wants to leave his mark at his milestones. But there is a fear within that presses he may die without much to show for in his lifetime.
c h a n g e x // x Daniel doesn't mind a little spicing up of the life, however, inner change, something that alters his identity or somebody that wants him to, can't be done. He likes who he is and he doesn't want to change.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
xxxxxxxx Playful xx Observant xx Sly xx Charismatic x

Daniel likes to think of himself as a fun, perky and humorous individual that looks on the short side of life. Even for a demigod that's attending camp and has a knack for some chaos and has probably made it to some mortals hunting list too, he prefers to make the history books going down as himself. Accompanying his tomb and the book would be his rather crude sense of humor, naturally mischievous/guilty and smug look and passion and enthusiasm for every action he executed. Life is much too short to live with regret and spend time standing against the wall. He understands that much more thoroughly now more than ever.

Being an adventurous soul and young boy at heart, Daniel has a pet peeve for dull days and often chooses to spice them up with a little illusion or conjuration. He tries not to push buttons excessively, and usually his attentive eye pays attention to when the line is being drawn and how sensitive his audience is. If he wants to cause some mischief and let it go off without a hitch and insulting anybody, he has to take note of his surroundings, the people and select his words like a devil dealer. Other times however, he just doesn’t care preferring the fun and thrill of the event. His mischievous self has the gift of wit, cunning, slyness and improvisation that has a way of allowing him to both escape trouble, and keep him seeking trouble so he can appease the side that enjoys more entertaining days. Plus, he sees his pesky powers as a service and helpful since any real enemy isn’t going to hold back.

In a lot of ways, Daniel could be considered an overgrown bored child with powers that shouldn't be in his hands, but make no mistake, his games will seem like child's play compared to when things get personal. If anyone accuses him of being bark over bite or takes him and his siblings as less important or significant or hurts them, he will be quick to commence plotting and correct that error in judgement, and he has a dangerously creative mind. Confidence in himself and powers has never been an area of hesitance.

For the upper hand on the playing field, Daniel can sometimes dumb down himself. Being underestimated does work out to be an advantage in the end game after all. However, if he's acting skills are called out; he feels no need to deny it though a lie lays on the tip of his tongue. Despite him seeing all trickster and “life is a game” motto, he does have an approachable side that adores his family unconditionally and can withhold a tame conversation that is open to almost anybody. But of course, him being him, he prefers the more eccentric and exciting topics.

xxxxxxxx Clever xx Reserved xx Kind xx Awkward x

Keith is a clever individual able to make quick work of puzzles and problems that need solving, mostly theoretical problems, not physical and confrontational. He doesn't like or do confrontation, his demeanor, his personality - none of it is meant to go toe to toe with someone. And to be honest, Keith is used to getting knocked around and bullied whereby his words are his only weapons to wield. More often than not though, they get him into more trouble. But he isn't afraid because he knows he has brains over their brawns and insecure pety minds.

Unsurprisingly, Keith doesn't have a great deal many friends. He supposes it's because he's too guarded, expecting the ugly in people and when somebody is kind to him, he gets socially awkward and doesn't really know how to respond and keep conversation flowing. The lack of experience to socializing and living has just kind of expanded to one mess of a man and it can make him seem pretentious when he's short with people or dismissive of an offer. It's not the real case as Keith is a major fan of treating others as you would like to be treated, but it's a common misconception that he's a bit of a snob.

Perhaps the largest barrier is that a large part of him struggles to relate to his peers entirely because he doesn't really know what he likes or if there's a clique or group or belonging for him and truthfully, it's like he doesn't even know himself some days. Something just feels off at his core. That's also why he keeps to his own company.

H I S T O R Y

Daniel is older brother to a mortal sister Delilah and another demigod he only met last year, Andromeda. Thankfully, Daniel was always a strapping young man that was quick on his toes so he felt and feels relatively equipped to handle young women with different personalities and hormones. Having Zane as a father, he always encouraged a light environment and an appreciation for wit and jokes in good taste. But also embedded Daniel with morals and values, hence he has a super soft spot for his sisters and a somewhat in tact moral compass.

Mainly Daniel grew up treating life as his playing field and people and his powers were a source of entertainment. Each day, he'd push the boundaries just a little bit further. This got him into a lot of trouble and made him feared among peers. There was no way folks believed in magic, but they did find Daniel as the common thread to the extraordinary. Through the commotion of powers, Zane persisted on sticking with him and keeping Daniel balanced. This in turn developed to a deep respect making Daniel not a total brat growing up.

Then along his introduction to camp.

Hecate's magic brought Daniel back to life, but not as his upbeat, fun loving self. When she revived him, she filled him with false memories and therefore a new identity to protect him from the trauma of his death. And so Keith Madden was born with a constant hole in his heart, like a piece of him is missing. The recollection of the war is hard to recall. He knows he was there last year, and there was a war but it has no meaning, no image and his life is full of gaps.

"I hope so. I didn't see her when I came down from the tree." Trinity tilted her head softly, picking up on the change of tone. "I didn't realize you were worried about competition," he added sounding more like his playful self. Before she could interrupt, Wes carried on. "We can forget the whole date thing if you want."

He sounded a little dejected, and if she was being honest even she felt a little discouraged by the notion of throwing the whole date thing away. She just started to settle into the idea or at least tell herself all she had to do was be herself, Wes knew what he was walking into any time he accompanied her. Still, there would be something different - something special about a date.

"Andy is going through a lot. She needs you."

Trinity took in a breath preparing to speak but couldn’t find the words nor the emotions. He raised his hand and brushed her forearm gently with his thumb. "I'm not going anywhere."

She smiled a little then looked off. “That is true,” she commented. Wes was being completely sensible and compassionate about the circumstances surrounding them but Trinity still wanted the date to go on. But wouldn’t that make her extremely selfish? She glanced back to Wes, her mouth parting then closing with no words coming out. She cast her eyes downward. “It is a bit of a shame,” she admitted slowly, like each word required concentration.

“I um…” The mix of feelings seemed to make her incapable of forming an entire sentence. Her brain felt a little scrambled. Trinity snapped out of it and straightened abruptly. She wasn’t about to let herself become one of those girls that got upset because a child of Aphrodite cancelled a date - completely within reason to. “So what are you going to do to fill in your day without my amazing company? Personally, I'd suggest a shower or bath.” She crinkled her nose mockingly then smiled. “You're looking a little shiny,” she traced her own jaw in gesture to Wes's features. Whether it was from sweat or the rain or a combination of both, he was looking a bit sleek. Nothing imposing on his stupidly good-looking face though.

Meanwhile she crossed her arms. Her friend support duties were important , but right now Andy was with Mason and providing he behaved, she was already in the best hands. Trinity worried about what she could offer her friend for comfort that Mason or Ajax couldn't. Instead of fretting on that, she focused back on Wes. “I could probably help look for your beast a little later if you want? I mean I know I’m Ares Daughter but there are others that look for any excuse for blood and violence. It’d be a pity if it- she was hurt by someone who’s not worthy.”

"Anything that is a possible threat to her. She's strong, I know, but... there's stronger out there. I want to make sure that she's just safe. It'll be a peace of mind."

Evelyn frowned a little disapprovingly. He was definitely over cautious and over protective, but did he expect many great creatures to hunt Alex outside of camp? His evasiveness didn't go over her head. She could see him growing somewhat impatient with their questioning and doubts; clearly not used to being interrogated, however a job done right was better than a failure - especially in the present instance, so it was best to be thorough. Before Evelyn could ask for clarification one last time, Keith offered that they could try.

She suppressed a sigh while Ajax pulled out a butterfly necklace from his pocket and held it towards her. Evelyn took it gently from him being delicate with the beloved item, pursing her lips far from satisfied in these working conditions.
One, that Ajax elected to be secretive or rather vague about why Alex needed a protective charm. Two, he had on him, Alex's precious item and three, Alex didn't know about it.

Evelyn turned her back to the boys so she could concentrate. She closed her eyes willing protection, safety and a shield into the necklace and let the power emanate through her veins and out her fingertips to link through the chain and butterfly. She inhaled and blinked a few times coming out of her trance. Evelyn turned back to the men. “Hopefully this meets your needs but I can’t guarantee it.” She had utter faith in her powers, she knew her blessing went into the necklace but to what degree it would hide and protect Alex couldn’t be known, so Evelyn painted fair expectations for Ajax.

Just as she went to extend her hand to hand it back to Ajax, she retracted it. “Unless, the son of Hecate would like to double check?” She opened her palm towards Keith now. “Cast your own spell,” she suggested, “trial the necklace with hunters.” There was a challenging air to the proposal. Something to test what he was made of in a proactive way and reveal more of his character.

Evelyn glanced back to Ajax. “Assuming you don't mind...?” At least with a test they could see if it worked effectively and everybody could be assured there was a good chance Alex would return in one piece. She cocked her head slightly looking at the son of Zeus. “You're not going with her,” she stated aloud. Yet Ajax struck her as such a family man... “Do you go out of camp much?”

Image Andy scooted to him and wrapped her arms around him again. Normally once was already more than enough as he wasn't the hugging type but today she needed it and the least he could do was be a good shoulder. Even then though it didn't stop her crying, no matter what he said or did. He rubbed her back gently and she nodded against his shoulder.

"I'm scared Mason." He tried to meet her eyes to assure he had heard her right, but couldn't, not without breaking the hug. And in his arms at least he knew she was safe. "I just wanted him at peace... How am I supposed to face him? I couldn't save him. I handed him off to our mother... And h-h-he died. But, it's not him."

Mason sighed out. He was searching for something to say but kept running into dead ends. Andy drew away by that time, wiping her eyes and Mason studied her face. "How am I supposed to look at Daniel but accept that it isn't him?"

He stroked away a single tear carefully while she tried to compose herself again. "Maybe it is him. All we know is that he hasn't visited you yet and he's not talking much. That doesn't mean it's not him. Dying then being resurrected can effect a person." Everyone assumed Daniel wasn't Daniel because he didn't make his usual spectacle. But if anyone had a blade shoved through them then was revived, they probably wouldn't feel too festive either. Then again Daniel had a gift of being resilient. Even Mason preferred his friend in tact, however Mason wasn't an optimist so addressed the other side of the coin. "And if it isn't Daniel..." He didn't know how she could accept it or what they could do. "There's no obligation, Andy. You don't have to do anything," he said instead. She was putting too much responsibility and pressure on her shoulders.

Slowly Mason stood up from her bed. "Can I get you anything?"

"As you know, I still have to go. I see her face in my dreams. I see her even when I'm awake." Duke was sorry to hear that and wished she had told someone sooner if her conscience was that tainted, but settled on nodding to her once. She probably didn't need a lecture. "I need to find peace with myself, then I promise I will come back."

ImageHe received an unexpected little kiss on his cheek from her but that wasn't what disturbed him. It was when she said, "I... I'm going to miss you, Duke."

He fell into his seat trying to scrutinize Alex. Last year she already left camp to put her mind at ease, to prove she didn't murder in cold blood. And now she was leaving again and just decided to admit it plagues her mind still. Duke frowned not able to make sense of why she was making it more difficult on herself. "How long will you be gone?" Although he could imagine Alex wouldn't have an exact answer for him. "I know inner peace is your own to find, but what about dream therapy? Why not ask a child of Hypnos to aid your sleep or dream walk with you? There are plenty of ways people can help you at camp."

Duke felt like everything he said was a losing a battle with Alex. She was so set in her own mind. So maybe a more brutal truth needed to be said. "Jennova was never going to make it," he said looking at his clasped hands. For a moment the sentence hung in the air. It didn't make it acceptable or merciful to kill her, however, maybe it was worth noting. "She wasn't careful enough. She was eager to please Hades blindly and recklessly. She started to lose humanity..." Duke recited, gaze on the wall. After that, he wouldn't be surprised if Alex thought him cold and he checked for her reaction.

Ignoring that, Duke got up and started to escort Alex out of his mancave to finish her rounds of temporary goodbyes. The sooner she left, the sooner she could come back. There was a trend on camp that once a blood of Zeus left something bad would happen on camp.

Hecate| HEX: #8b9068 | Smart/Casual

He sensed annoyance in both of them which left him in a rather uncomfortable zone. Keith didn't know how to play peace maker very well. So long as things didn't escalate, he wouldn't have to. Evelyn took the necklace and turned away from them as she worked her blessing into it. Thank you again.

Now Keith was left standing by Ajax and he shifted uncomfortably. "So...how are you?" Other than stressed and high strung about protecting Alex. Keith wanted to smack himself sometimes.

Image “Hopefully this meets your needs but I can’t guarantee it.” Keith tried the more reassuring smile approach in contrast to Evelyn's honesty. Then as she went to hand the necklace back, she retracted it and an anxious feeling started swirling in his gut and chest. There was either going to be a fight or- “Unless, the son of Hecate would like to double check? Cast your own spell, trial the necklace with hunters,” she suggested, presenting the necklace to Keith.

There had never been a faster evolution from hero to antagonist. How could he get out of this? His powers felt like they didn't belong to him and he didn't practice often enough. Keith took the necklace gingerly, as if it had the power to sear him but it was only a problem on his own end. Upon inspection of the butterfly necklace, a half of him thought the contrast was funny from Alex's true nature, on the other hand there was a surge of familiarity. Keith looked back up at Evelyn and Ajax. He must have looked odd playing with the necklace idly lost in his own thoughts. "I....I can try." That must have seemed like his new favorite phrase of the day too.

If anything were to go wrong, or more likely, nothing were to happen, he was around the best people to deal with it. He didn't want to risk cancelling Evelyn's charm on it so he'd opt for hunters if anything. If Ajax didn't intervene which in this case Keith wouldn't have minded.

Andy tried to muster her best smile as Mason wiped away her tear. "Maybe it is him. All we know is that he hasn't visited you yet and he's not talking much. That doesn't mean it's not him. Dying then being resurrected can effect a person." Her gaze fell slightly when he spoke. Of course, that could be true, but part of her thought that Mason was only saying that to help her not be so upset. She appreciated it… But she didn’t believe him. "And if it isn't Daniel...” Her gaze raised to meet his. "There's no obligation, Andy. You don't have to do anything," he concluded.

She didn’t know what to say. Mason was right. If this wasn’t Daniel… Just a shell. Then she had no obligation to be anything to him. Andy couldn’t help the flashbacks she got from last summer. The memories of Ajax without his soul, how careless and cold he was. Daniel nearly fought him in the middle of the entire camp because of how he treated her and now it’s as if the tables might have turned. Although, this time her brother is the ghost and Ajax is nowhere to be found.

Her attention was drawn back to Mason as the weight displaced on her bed as he stood. She didn’t want him to leave her alone. Gods was she tired of being left alone with her own thoughts. How much more of her own mind could she handle before it was too much? But Andy said nothing,

"Can I get you anything?"

”Can you go with me to find him? Please?” Andy sighed, resting her hands on her knees. She sat there in silence for a moment before moving to her feet. Her head was dizzy for a moment but wore off quickly. She gave a brief thought to changing, putting make up over her bruised and broken nose but she didn’t care. ”I don’t want to just… stumble upon him when I’m not prepared. And I don’t know if I can do it on my own.” She shook her head as she spoke.

She knew he was getting ready to leave and between everything that happened that day during capture the flag… their own little argument, Mason might want to be on his own. Andy didn’t blame him if he did. But she didn’t want to. Mason and Trinity were there for her through this and came to her immediately. Unlike Ajax who had to have known since he was on her brother’s team… Not that Andy knew if she wanted to talk to him anyway.

”… You don’t have to.”

"Not really. I mean, it wasn't your fault. That thing just came at me." Sloane walked in pace with Ji-Hyun, looking between his hand and eyes as he spoke. When he slashed his hand through the air she gasped slightly, taking a step back so the blood landed on the ground and not her. "But yeah, I'll take you up on that offer. Thanks."

”Be careful,” she warned with raised brows and a nervous laugh.

Sloane nodded her head toward him when he seemed all right and turned their path toward the cabins. "You know,” Ji-Hyun spoke up getting her attention as they walked. "Back in Korea this would never have happened. My grandmother would have freaked out if I came home with even a scratch on me. And my brother always stood up for me against the older guys."

Ji-Hyun paused mid-step, lost in thought. Sloane remained silent for a long moment, giving him the silence he might need. She glanced around at the surrounding area, freezing slightly when she met her own brother’s gaze as he made his way toward their cabin. Sylas didn’t seem happy that she was with Ji-Hyun. It even seemed like he had half a mind to beeline for her. ”Let’s go to your cabin.”

She took him by the elbow gently, and guided him in a different direction that wouldn’t lead them right toward her brother. Once Sylas was out of sight, she relaxed slightly, looking back toward the silent Ji-Hyun. ”I am sorry about your brother…” Sloane didn’t know what else to say. Deep down, she was envious of the relationship he had with his brother. Not that his brother was dead, but their closeness.

"But talking about him isn't going to bring him back, so nevermind me. What a game, huh? I can't believe they let us be the last line of defence for the flag. Wes climbed that tree so quickly I barely even saw it. Is it gonna be like this all the time, do you think they're going to try to make us warriors?" Ji-Hyun laughed weakly. "I don't think that's ever going to happen."

Sloane shrugged her shoulders. ”I can only assume so. Look at the Valis’, Trinity… or any of the other seasoned campers. They fight like… well, warriors.” She shrugged her shoulders, slowing their steps as they arrived at his cabin. She made her way up the steps of his porch, and motioned her hand to the door as a silent way of asking permission for her to enter.

”I’ve never been much of a fighter either... That’s Sylas’ area of expertise.”

”That is true,” Trinity replied although she didn’t seem all that happy about it. Seeing the slight sadness in her face of the date no longer happening made Wes’ heart skip a beat. She looked up to him then back down before she continued to speak. “It is a bit of a shame.”

”I was looking forward to it too,” Wes whispered down toward her, just quiet enough so only she could hear him. His voice was gentle but sincere. He wanted every moment he could have with Trinity, and a moment alone was a rare gift. Giving that up was hard, but he knew her friend needed her.

Wes took a slight step toward her, raising his hand to brush back loose blonde strands. Before she could argue or say otherwise, Wes acted on impulse in the brief moment that they were alone. He leaned in toward her, pausing momentarily to glance into her eyes. His hand cupped the side of her face, his thumb brushing her cheek as he closed the distance between them. Wes heart raced as his lips pressed against hers for a brief, yet tender kiss.

He couldn’t help himself as he got lost in the kiss for longer than he intended, but Wes gently pulled away, smiling down at her with flushed cheeks. ”Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.”

”So what are you going to do to fill in your day without my amazing company? Personally, I'd suggest a shower or bath.” Trinity’s face cringed but couldn’t hide her smile. ”You're looking a little shiny,” she added while tracing her own jaw.

Wes laughed softly, raising his hand to brush his fingertips along his… shiny skin. ”Well I was in the rain,” he commented. But she was probably right. She also needed to see to her wound, but trying to get her to admit she needed first aid was like trying to get a boulder to move.

Trinity crossed her arms, obviously deep in thought for a long moment before she spoke up. “I could probably help look for your beast a little later if you want? I mean I know I’m Ares Daughter but there are others that look for any excuse for blood and violence. It’d be a pity if it- she was hurt by someone who’s not worthy.”

Wes smiled as he shifted his weight where he stood. ”I don’t know if I’d be able to find her. Who knows how the camp gets their creatures for our sport, or what they do with them afterwards.” He glanced down slightly as he rustled his hair. ”I can only hope that she was able to go back to the underworld. That’s the only real place for a hell hound.” He then looked up and smiled toward her. ”I appreciate it though, Blondie.”

ALEXANDRIA VALIS
DAUGHTER OF ZEUS
Hex: #d63b71
The anger she felt inside was better than tears, better than grief, and better than guilt. There was no turning back or erasing past mistakes. She just had to learn by them and move forward. "How long will you be gone?" Duke knew already that she couldn't give him an answer for that. It would just be as long as she needed until she felt herself again. "I know inner peace is your own find, but what about dream therapy? why not ask a child of Hypnos to aid your sleep or dream walk with you? there are plenty of ways people can help you at camp." That was if they wanted to help. Alex shook her head. They were good ideas if her dreams hadn't taken the dark path lately. She didn't want to admit that she was afraid. She knew Duke wouldn't judge her, and neither would her brother or Wes... it was the others she wasn't so sure about. Oh, Mason would have a field day with that knowledge no doubt. She didn't want to give him the satisfaction. "Jennova was never going to make it," Alex took a seat, her behind gently pressing down into the soft material of a chair that sat in his workshop. She closed her eyes and swallowed gently as she hung her head down. "She wasn't careful enough. She was eager to please Hades blindly and recklessly. She started to lose humanity."

Image He was right, and they both knew that was still no excuse to end her life, but it had happened and there was no way to bring her back. She looked up at him and furrowed her brows. "I should have handled the situation differently. I lost control of my anger. I just..." she raised her shoulders and shook her head. "it was like my body was there, but the rest of me wasn't. She knew which button to press that night, and I begged myself to walk away, but I snapped. It happened so quickly." she told him. "I'm lucky that the Gods have not come for me, or maybe they will. I should be standing trial before them and facing my fate."

Image As Duke stood up, Alex too began to stand. "I'm sorry if I've wasted your time, but I had to see you before I left. I wasn't expecting to dump all my thoughts on you, but I'm glad I did. It helped. See you soon, Duke." she smiled a little, then left his workshop, but spun around before he had completely disappeared from sight. "Thank you," she added softly before leaving.

She headed towards her cabin with not wanting to waste any more of Duke's time. After a couple of steps, she paused for a moment after her eyes found Wes and Trinity. Not wanting to get in between them, she carried on walking since she needed to pack anyway. Just a few things really. Nothing special. Mason was no doubt going to be happy with one of Zeus's children gone. For now.

AJAX VALIS
SON OF ZEUS
Hex: Green
As Ajax waited for Evelyn to work her magic, Ajax's eyes looked to Daniel. It wasn't a surprise he was back with them having Gods as parents, but it was a little strange that Daniel was acting as though nothing had happened to him. "So how are you?" he asked, causing Ajax to frown. No, teasing comment? no witty words to throw in his face? Daniel definitely didn't seem like himself, but who could blame him after returning from the dead?

Ajax studied him briefly. "I could ask you the same thing, but I'm alright I guess. Thanks." Alex wasn't even gone yet, and already he was worrying and contemplating the worse scenarios in his head.

Finally, Evelyn was done. Her return broke him from his thoughts and the fallen silence between him and Daniel.

He went to take the necklace back from her but paused as she offered it towards Daniel. Sensing he didn't want to handle it, Ajax reached out and took it from him. "No, it's fine. Thank you." he nodded to them, tossed the necklace up into the air a couple of inches from the palm of his hand, and caught it before he headed off in search for his little sister. He didn't have time to say anything else, so he hurried towards their cabin in hopes that she would still be there.

As he made his way towards the front door his mind wandered briefly to Andy. He had noticed how absent he had been since they declared themselves, finally, as a couple. That girl deserved so much better than some mood changing male that lost his temper easily. With everything going on, Ajax felt torn. He wanted to the leader that many expected him to be, but he also wanted to be the boyfriend that Andy expected him to be. Blowing hot and cold with her wasn't her fault in the slightest... it was his, and no doubt Mason was there with her now, playing Mr. White Knight. He clenched his jaw at the thought before entering the cabin. "Al?"

Image ”Can you go with me to find him? Please?” He didn't imagine the request so soon. Eventually she'd want to seek out Daniel, but he was more offering in terms of food and drink or tissues. Mason didn't know how he could cope with the turmoil in himself and Andy so that's probably why he stared at her in belief. ”I don’t want to just… stumble upon him when I’m not prepared. And I don’t know if I can do it on my own.”

Mason scratched the back of his neck. He did offer whenever she wanted to he'd go with her. It felt extremely soon though, she just had a mini meltdown and now its like she wanted salt in the wound.

”… You don’t have to.” she added.

Mason looked off pressing his tongue to his cheek. "I want to see him too," he told her honestly. "I just think you've had a big day and....you're not entirely ready," he said. Not to discredit her strength or baby her, but that was his opinion. They had a fight, Ajax and her had a fight, then she heard her dead brother was walking around in the realm of living, now she wanted to face the ghost head on. Unless her logic was make a bad day worse.

"I'll go with you. Of course I'll go with you," he answered finally. "But it's not going to be any easier." In the event Daniel was some left over shell, Mason didn't know how he'd take it either. And Ajax was lucky to get his soul back when he did - he was hardly an example of what a soulless man could do. Mason looked her over. She looked like hell and he didn't think it was the best reunion look but if she was comfortable...Mason turned his back on Andy regardless, allowing her some privacy. "When you're ready."

"No, it's fine. Thank you." Ajax suddenly took the necklace, gave them a nod, tossed the precious item to himself then headed off casually. The way he came up to them, Keith thought it was some code grey priority thing. But he quickly dismissed it. Whatever happened from then on was Ajax's business and responsibility because the red-head gave him a full disclaimer. Even the whole 'try before you buy' type of deal. She was hell of a marketer.

ImageKeith pursed his lips then looked to Evelyn. And he thought he was bad at socializing. "At least he said thank you," Keith offered. He actually felt a little embarrassed by his camp mate's behavior. "You know someone once told me the Valises will always look out for each other first. They get tunnel vision when it comes to each other to the extent you could be in immediate danger and a Valis in fraction of that, and they'd still choose each other." That's not how he imagined his sentence coming out. He wanted to say they just worried about each other a lot and something else to keep things optimistic, but his words took a tale of its own. And he was unable to redeem them or argue otherwise.

He looked away again biting his lip softly. His powers were part of his identity or should have been and he wasn't confident enough to wield them. It always had to come down to pressure before he'd use it and now the opportunity slipped; Ajax was gone but he still had Evelyn. Under her watchful eye, he doubted she'd let things go so wrong. Plus, she seemed insistent to push him. "So you strike me as powerful and - I wanna try. I wanna try use my powers."

Keith smiled a little and raised his hand. At first the fragments of images appeared then vanished as quick as they came. He tried not to get exasperated with himself. Some blurred emotions and a foggy mind state wouldn't help him in succeeding. He tried again and again having no success. Keith shifted his weight from foot to foot then glanced at Evelyn. He had started so motivated and now he was embarrassing himself. Then finally three hunters appeared and Keith let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Keith beamed. Paying his creations more mind, their skin and eyes were slightly discolored and they didn't come out entirely human looking. More like zombies with weapons.

Suddenly they raised their weapons pointing at the pair. "Woah." Keith automatically raised his hands and took a few steps back.

He seemed to be getting closer and Trinity smiled faintly when he brushed back some locks of her hair. But when he leaned in, Trinity tensed suddenly aware of their proximity, although she found herself unwilling to move especially when his eyes were so captivating. And she trusted Wes. Then he kissed her. She was taken back, a little zap jolting through her body. By the time she could make some coherent response, her lips only had time to pucker softly in return before it was over.

”Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.”

A grin slowly stretched across her mouth. “You kissed me,” she stated. She shook her head as if it was surreal, although the grin insisted on staying. “It’s okay,” she mumbled. “It was…nice.” As she lowered her eyes, she realized then her hands were clutching his shirt. “Oh, sorry.” She immediately released her grip and stepped away from him.

After a brief storm of embarrassment and hormones, they resumed their conversations. To her more recent offer, he politely and logically answered. ”I don’t know if I’d be able to find her. Who knows how the camp gets their creatures for our sport, or what they do with them afterwards. I can only hope that she was able to go back to the underworld. That’s the only real place for a hell hound. I appreciate it though, Blondie.”

She nodded once. “No worries, Ken.” She wanted to leave it at that. She really did but she couldn't because Wes's compassion - though sweet and great at times, didn't sit right with her. “But,” she stuck up a finger, “just to be a classic party pooper, if you weren't who you were, tell me you understand those things would rip us to shreds.” Trinity tried to keep a light tone and smile about it, but in truth his Mr. Brightside, mercy and love for all was concerning.

This time she stepped up to him. “Did you know you have one arm now? And uh, that makes you more vulnerable to attacks. Especially towards predatory animals and creatures, they pick up on it like-” she snapped her fingers in demonstration and smirked. Trinity placed a hand over his right rib and the other on his left shoulder.“What if I just dug my claws in now?” She smirked teasing again. “Or had a knife?” She conjured one with a small wrist movement and allowed Wes to feel the smooth surface of the blade between his neck and shoulder. Trinity rose some mock challenging brows while amusement glinted in her eyes.

She gave him a moment or two, but before everyone dived on her to save the beloved Son of Aphrodite or Wes thought this was the day she had cracked, Trinity shot up on her tip toes and kissed his jaw once. “See, completely open to attack. A mob of women could have pounced on you.” She backed away grinning broadly then shrugged innocently.

Just as it felt she was making progress, Ajax plucked the necklace from Keith and gave curt thanks. Seemingly now that he got his way he wasn't much for gratitude or maybe he didn't have time to express it.

"At least he said thank you.” The comment drew Evelyn's attention back to the male with glasses, trying to make up for the son of Zeus's behaviour. "You know someone once told me the Valises will always look out for each other first. They get tunnel vision when it comes to each other to the extent you could be in immediate danger and a Valis in fraction of that, and they'd still choose each other."

A little understanding hum came from her throat. People would do just about anything for family. Evelyn cast her gaze into the endless woods. She noticed Keith shifting and getting uncomfortable in her peripheral but left him to stew.

"So you strike me as powerful and - I wanna try. I wanna try use my powers."

Despite herself she smiled. She glanced to the son of Hecate on the verge of grinning with pride. His willingness to try opened doors for Evelyn and himself no doubt. It took a few attempts where Evelyn smiled kindly when he looked to her, but in time and with some perseverance his visions were conjured. Even if they were a bit dead in appearance, they existed. And without having a relation with Hecate, she could guess conjurations and illusions were hard work. “That's amazing.”

The hunters pointed their weapons at the closest targets causing Keith to change tunes. "Woah." He began to back up.

Evelyn placed a hand gently on his back to prevent collision again. She slanted her head slightly pass his shoulder to peek at his startled expression. “You gave them life, you can take it away,” she told him calmly. After studying Keith for some time, Evelyn cast her gaze onto the hunters. She had utter faith in the son of Hecate and remained cool. Evelyn entirely grasped the potential danger, but she had to place confidence in him too.

Her hands slid to his shoulders and Evelyn took a deep breath in, then out pointedly, hoping Keith would follow suit to center himself.

Mason didn't want to hurt Andy's feelings, he just wanted to be honest with her. And having a confident friend suddenly doubt was surprisingly tough. "Maybe you're right. I need a second." Andy headed into her bathroom and only once the door closed did his shoulders sag and he sighed out. He didn't know what he was doing. He was probably saying the wrong things and upsetting her further. Maybe he needed to slip in a few harmless lies instead. Something to make her feel better.

Image Mason slowly paced the cabin. He didn't know what girls did in there, whether it was cry or beautify themselves but Andy was taking some time. The girl was near ruined though so she might have taken some extra time. Steph always took her time and it was a scary thing when that ritual was interrupted, and Andy, she was more than entitled to it so Mason let her sort herself out.

Standing was good for a while and he didn't want to make an impression that he was making himself at home but he needed a seat, his legs becoming somewhat heavy. He found a chair and sat but he still felt restless. He began searching for something to preoccupy himself, something to read, some art to ponder, but Andy's cabin was not that stimulating. He blew out his lips trying to hold his patience, but he hadn't a heard a noise in a while. She could have fainted, but even then he was convinced he would have heard her fall. Mason sprang back to his feet and walked to the bathroom door for peace of mind and knocked on it twice. "Hey, you okay in there?" He waited a couple of seconds, ear nearly pressed to the door to be received by absolute silence. "Andy?" He waited again but there was nothing.

Mason left Andy's cabin. Ignoring him was a blunt hint as any, still he would have liked some final communication like "I don't want to talk," or "I need time alone". He marched to his secluded cabin, buried under the mountain, shaking his head to himself. That's what he got for trying to be supportive. Maybe she forgot he was in the same boat as her; a rough place with the Valises, lost a sister and a best friend. He ripped off his war clothes and replaced them with some lazy lounge ones then dumped himself on his couch.

As far as he could foresee this would make up the rest of his day. Initially he was hoping at some point after capture the flag to have words with Theo, try to get him on side or at least stop idolizing Zeus's kids, but now he just couldn't be bothered to ruffle feathers or lift a finger to make people see sense. What did anyone ever do for him anyway

He bumped into Evelyn and reached back quickly to steady himself and her but there was no need, and just as quickly he looked back to threat ahead. Three hunters with gadgets attached to their belts and straps but the most concerning was the one with a crossbow in hand.

“You gave them life, you can take it away,” she cooed behind him. Keith absorbed her words and her presence finding her grounding.

As they stalked closer, his nerves went up a notch again. But Evelyn was there, placing her hands on his shoulders and breathing deeply. Keith inhaled then exhaled. He gave them life, he could take it away. He could erase these fake beings from existence. He put his arm in front of him and swept his hand to the left. They only staggered like a strong gust of wind had come through. He shifted his weight from foot to foot then closed his eyes. He had to remain in control. He wasn't responsible just for himself but Evelyn as well. Keith had to see them as materials, not beings, they had no history so they had no life. For some reason that struck a chord with him. Parts of his own past were blank like a best friend in childhood; everyone had one but he couldn't see a face or name, he couldn't remember a favorite toy or lullaby.
An odd clink made Keith glance to the loaded crossbow. No more time for thoughts and failure. Keith raised his hand again with new found determination. His conjurations vanished in thin smoke, but not before the hunter released the arrow. His other hand shot out to repel it but it was far too close, and far too late.

ImageHis body jerked back. "AGH!" He immediately clutched at the arrow in his abdomen. Keith puffed out his cheeks to prevent from yelling out in pain again and inhaled the breath through grit teeth. He let his legs fold from under him. "I can't..." he began shakily. I can't get the bleeding to stop or the pain to stop. It made him want to curl up in agony. God it was bad. "I can't get the arrow out, I can't do it."

He must have looked a pathetic sight, begging and hoping for her magical aid somehow from something self-inflicted, but he didn't care. He threw his head back and groaned. He only wanted to be rid of the pain. He wasn't as sturdy as the others.

"Take me to the med hut." Evelyn approached and obliged, though it was a slow journey there. Keith tried not to give her his full weight and help but he faltered in step often and he felt terribly weak so a very slow and steady pace had to be the way.

In the med hut staff tended to him promptly. He took off his sweater and top with difficulty, revealing a series of scars on his torso. They gave him something for the pain then treated the fresh wound, but as they tended to that business Keith tried to focus on Evelyn and plead with his eyes for her not to leave. They were strangers surrounding him and he could have used a friend among the mix. He didn't know what they were doing and he didn't want to know, so he focused on her, the color of her hair, her eyes, the greatest distraction.

But Keith had to look away. He didn't know why he played bold because he knew he wasn't as powerful as other camp attendants and it cost him to think otherwise. As the pain subsided the embarrassment kicked in. "I'm sorry," he said, his brows knitting together unable to look at her.

"Well...I don't want a mob of women." Trinity allowed herself to be pulled onto his leg somewhat reluctantly but she didn't protest either. All she gave was a playful eye roll and that wasn't at his actions as much as what he said. Besides, once perched there she discovered it wasn't the worse seat in the world. She wrapped an arm around his neck for support.

“But the -”

"And you know..." Trinity stiffened as his arm came around her waist and rested his hand on her hip. This time she didn't know if it was because he spoke or because of his touch, but she ceased her argument on the spot. "If you're worried about me. You could just tell me to not be an idiot and get myself killed.”

Trinity frowned in confusion at the suggestion. “I mean I could, but that’s not very fun, or effective,” she pointed out then cracked another smile. Inside, she knew none of it was effective. He wouldn't budge his ways for anybody and they were fine to make light of it until things ended badly. Trinity probably could have nicked him, hell, stabbed him outright and he wouldn't have hit her or used his powers. Wes settled into her shoulder, but he didn't get to rest while her mind ran on unpleasant scenarios. Her fingers slid up into his hair and she tugged on it. She grinned and quickly pat his head apologetically, tilting her head to the side as she observed him.

“Now, before you rudely interrupted,” she teased, “tell me how the lover responds to love then. Fair enough, you're not textbook definition of a fighter, but say some girls were sexy and charming and they wanted a piece of Wesley Preston, do you feed their appetite?” Since the beginning it might have seemed Trinity was painting him in this sinful womanizer way with her questions, but in truth she was always curious about the other end of the spectrum. Trinity could imagine it was only natural for Aphrodite's children to indulge in the desire of others and themselves, like it was for her to fight.

She frowned as another question occurred, though bit her lip as it was particularly awkward. “So...so, erhm, who becomes insatiable in that case, when they sleep together?” she clarified. “Is it Aphrodite or....the people?” Maybe it was none but a lot of myths floated around about Aphrodite and her children and their....particular skill sets.

Then more and more questions started knocking around in her mind, getting more intrusive and endangering the little time and moment they were having together. Trinity thought of his ex. The ex she never saw, who's name she didn't even know, and never knew about but she was in her head. Trinity tightened her arm around Wes's neck. She spoke softly to him, “Can you tell me about - ” She was cut off yet again, this time by a slam in the distance.

Mason was storming away from Andy's cabin. “Oh boy,” she mumbled. And she thought they had done so well. Trinity got to her feet but apart of her told her to give Andy some space. She might have pushed Mason away just to get it. “Should I go check on her?” Then another part of her wanted to quickly pick up where she left off with Wes too.

She gasped and her heart lurched a second time when the arrow made impact. She glanced down expecting to see the arrow had pierced through the both of them, but Keith had taken the grunt of the damage. He screamed out then collapsed. Consoling him would fall short of a good deed or redemption for her guilt. In truth she didn’t know what she could do.

"I can't...I can't get the arrow out, I can't do it."

Evelyn fell to her knees by him slowly. “You have to leave it in.” Her panicked acquaintance with ragged breathing who was writhing in pain. “Ssh, ssh” she soothed and finally put her hand on his chest with enough pressure to keep him still. Evelyn glanced to his eyes sadly then the arrow protruding from his body. She placed her other hand on his head and closed her eyes trying to suppress the pain for him. She drew her hands away from him eyeing him anxiously.

"Take me to the med hut," was all he said. Evelyn nodded and tried to carry Keith to his desired destination, ducking under his arm while wrapping her own around him. When he staggered, she did, although she knew she had to be strong, keeping her eyes ahead. She held Keith a little tighter and marched on.

Once in the med hut, Evelyn gave the workers their space but watched on with concern. She was a responsible party in this as well. Her fingers curled up to her lips nervously and she rose on her tiptoes to see past the heads and bodies that surrounded him. What was beyond them was a sad sight, her eyes flickering to the other numerous scars across his body.

"I'm sorry," he said. Evelyn crossed her arms. He was completely wrong to be sorry, although she did deserve his ignoring her.

Once the aid cleared out she approached him, the guilt in her gut amplifying. “I’m sorry for pushing you into it, truly. If you weren't ready I should have respected that, only you know you best.” Upon getting closer she could see more scar tissue. It was almost enough to render her speechless, but she found herself beyond a point of reservation and control. “What happened?” she blurted wide eyed. “Has someone been hurting you?” Evelyn looked to him expectantly.

He lied there arrow-less, bandaged and sanitized with a dull pain lingering in his abdomen. All in all, it was a job well done. And a job that could have been avoided to begin with. When the nurses left him, Evelyn came into view again.

“I’m sorry for pushing you into it, truly. If you weren't ready I should have respected that, only you know you best.”

Image"It's not your fault," he told her lowly. "It was my choice to make and my responsibility. I'm just starting to think I'm not worthy of powers of the Gods." Keith didn't endure an epic quest to receive them, or show valiant qualities to have them bestowed upon him. He was luck of the draw; in Hecate's case an unlucky one. He was just a big biological disgrace whereas others would kill or pray for the gift of the gods.

“What happened?” The question snapped him out of his thoughts and he looked at her confused. “Has someone been hurting you?”

"No, no," he answered automatically, followed by self consciously rubbing over his chest with his fingertips as if it would help erase his scars. "At least I don't think so." He frowned. "I don't....I don't know." Keith glanced down to his own foreign body. They weren't accidental or one time off scars. Tears threatened to form in his eyes. "I don't remember any of them." He met Evelyn's eyes with his own anxiety then traced over his most predominant scar. Something as big and bad as that had to be remembered and he knew he had a scar in the same position on his back. Keith wasn't much of a fighter but he did have sense of self preservation. "Look," he whispered to her and sat up slouching forward to reveal its twin on his back. "I know I'm not that strong but I would never allow myself to be tortured. That could have killed me. How could I forget something like that?" Keith winced and lied back slowly. But the physical pain was minute compared to the confusion and frustration he felt. The whole distortion of his life...now how could that be healed? "It's like the further I try dig the more lost I am. I have these gaps...these huge gaps. And it terrifies me," he confessed. He finally confessed the problem, and though he was as heavy as a rock at the bottom of the ocean, he felt some slight alleviation.

His lip quivered then he shook his head and grit his teeth looking away. Keith was sick of it but it was hard to pull himself together.

Image Duke found Ajax near the stables which normally he didn’t visit for fun as much as his sister. He gathered Alex must have been nearby then and given Ajax's deflation, they had words already. Duke approached and put a hand on Ajax's shoulder smiling stiffly. "She'll always come back." Certainly Alex was independent and stubborn and caused her big brother grief, but she was also family orientated and took shelter with Ajax. Their bond was inseparable. Duke gently pulled on his shoulder to steer Ajax away from any prolonged goodbyes or arguments. Whether they thought it was a mistake or not, Alex had to make her own decisions and figure out things through trial and error. Except leaving the prosthetic arm either at his warehouse or her cabin - he was under the influence she was seeing Wes straight after him and he didn't like his creations just laying out to rust.

It was up to him to distract Ajax rather than leave the man high strung about Alex. "How do you travel these days?" Duke threw his head back towards the stables. "Horseback?" He smiled. It was hard to envision Ajax on a horse but anything was possible with the Valises, they continued to surprise him. More than likely it was flying since it got them from point a to b quicker and the view must have been fantastic.

"Come on, Aj, if you have any energy to spare we'll train." Duke pat his brother's back. Training would be a good release for Ajax because even when Ajax was a great brother and leader, he had his own emotions and there was never a time to let them out or express himself. The camp could endure another storm, it'd be fine.

Even though he was teasing and complying, Trinity sensed some real dissatisfaction for ruining a 'could be' content moment. But it was just one of the many ways she was merciless. His answers weren't mega assuring but at least he was somewhat honest. The problem was he didn't directly answer how he'd deal with it in the present. Could he really say no to an inviting face? His answers had the effect of driving her mental, but there was simply no way she could bluntly ask "so what's your appetite then?" and "would you turn down a daughter of Hera?" That would take the interrogation to a nasty turn. There was no time for it anyway.

“You know Andy better than me.”

That was unhelpful. Yes, the two had gotten closer but Wes still understood the psychology of people better than her. She let out a frustrated huff.

“Maybe she needs girl time.” He added. “She’s dealing with her brother… But she is also dealing with her boyfriend and her best friend constantly trying to kill each other. I can’t imagine it’s easy for her to open up completely to either one of them.”

When put that way, it sounded like Andy desperately needed to unload on an impartial party such as herself.

“I could go talk to him. I don’t know how much help I could be… But I’m not a Valis.”

Trinity turned to him dumbstruck. Part of her thought he got his pronouns confused for a second but no, it seemed he meant Mason. “I kind of feel like it’s the equivalent of sending red riding hood into the wolf den.” Her understanding was, while they didn't interact much, she doubted there was a special place in the son of Hades heart for Wes, like Wes's heart for Mason. And they were literally just discussing how Wesley doesn't attack or defend himself appropriately. Mason was the animal that would jump on vulnerability. “You have not being a Valis in your favour but... ” from what Mason said to her, he painted Alex and Wes as a couple and sometimes she did too. Trinity just shook her head to herself looking at Andy's cabin. Not like Wes listened anyway and she wasn't the boss of him or about to tell him what he should and shouldn't do.

She clucked her tongue rolling it over in her head. If worse came to worse, Andy could tell Trinity to bugger off and she'd head her own way. And the worse for Wesley would be Mason giving him the cold or something. But how did she leave Wes on a good note. It didn't really feel like there was a way since she had been her uncharming self as usual.

Trinity spun back around to face him. “Well, I'm gonna try this 'girl time' out and I will see you....later?” she guessed uncertainly. No doubt she would see Wesley's face again, it was more a matter if he wanted to see her or dodge her like the plague.

Regardless, she approached Andy's cabin and knocked on the door. Just because a guy didn't like her, life certainly wouldn't stop. She gave it a couple good seconds because if Trinity were anywhere near in the same shoes as Andy, answering a door could get stuffed. “Andy, it's me.” She let herself in after a moment and crept inside the cabin. Usually she would have waited for an invitation to come in but given the circumstances... “You okay?” she called gently. A slow little venture through the cabin was enough to gather Andy wasn't in there or unresponsive when it came to the bathroom. Trinity squatted down and felt a draft come through the bottom of the door. She squinted in thought and just to prove her hunch, headed outside and circled the cabin. When she saw the bathroom window open she had a mix of emotions; from insult and hurt to understanding and being impressed. “Hm. A ninja among us.” Trinity rested her hands on her hips and pursed her lips.

Alone time was one of those things where sometimes it was needed and had to be respected, and sometimes could make the drowning in thoughts so much worse. Trinity began to pace. Okay, so my best friend and boyfriend are in a constant blood feud and I'm in the middle. Love them both. My brother died. I just heard he's around camp somewhere. That cocktail of emotions would not be good suppressed. Where could she begin to look for Andy?

"No, no," he said then felt his scars gently. Evelyn released the breath she was holding. She couldn't believe him and she was disappointed that he wouldn't be honest with her and with himself. The chances that he was excessively accident prone was ridiculous. "At least I don't think so. I don't....I don't know." His change in tone struck a chord in her. He eyed his body and started to get upset causing Evelyn to frown too. "I don't remember any of them." When he looked at her, that was the final straw. His emotions were true. This man was telling the truth and having his memory locked away was unfair.

"Look," He tried to sit up but before she could scold him he slouched forward and revealed the scar on his back. Evelyn's eyes flashed with fear. She hovered her hands over the scars and tried to measure them, but there was little room for doubt. Something had pierced all the way through him. "I know I'm not that strong but I would never allow myself to be tortured. That could have killed me. How could I forget something like that?"

She watched him lie back down without a word on her part. This all was shocking for her but for him it must have been much worse. "It's like the further I try dig the more lost I am. I have these gaps...these huge gaps. And it terrifies me."

She swallowed the lump in her throat and quickly pushed aside her feelings. Keith needed help. Help that was beyond what she could give but for now she had to suffice and offer him something. “Sometimes our mind represses things to protect ourselves.”

Her eyes trailed over his tormented body then took his hand gently inspecting another faded injury along his arm. She wasn't a forensic expert but it looked like a bite. Her mouth fell agape again slightly and she flickered her gaze onto him. “Keith, if someone has been doing this to you we'll find out who and why.” The best thing for him at the moment was rest. He needed to take it easy while he recovered not get wound up. Her thumb began to caress his hand then stroked up the inside of his wrist over the vein. To the blind eye it looked like a massage of a kind, in reality Evelyn was carefully slowing his nervous system so his anxieties faded and hopefully he could sleep. “We just need more help,” she muttered and drew her hand back gently.

Evelyn waited a little longer by his side. In advance she knew she had a lot to study and investigate.

Image A knock on his door caused him to grumble. What ever did happen to that 'scary Hades kid' vibe? He missed it when people knew their place which was basically anywhere but at his cabin and in his company. “Hello. Is anyone in there?” Mason didn't recognize the voice and that peaked his curiosity. For a second. He decided to pretend no one was home. Things would certainly be easier that way. Mason didn't really want to deal with a Disney princess. “Um, it’s my first time here, and I’ve gotten myself really lost. Please open the door.”

He stared at his wall, pursing his lips. Ah, what the hell. Mason reached for his pack of cigarettes, plucking one out then shoving the pack in his back pocket. Mason snatched up his lighter, swung open the door, and shut it behind himself, backing the stranger up by stepping forward a couple paces. “I’m Evangeline.”

He lit up and when he actually looked at his guest he was genuinely surprised. She wasn't the Disney princess he was expecting by appearance and it made him smile to himself and raise his brows. "So you're lost, your name's Evangeline...Do you know where you're supposed to go?" Good thing direction giving existed and the sooner he offloaded her the better. And if worse came to worse a little walk wouldn't kill him. But the whole orientation thing used to be Zeus's kids job. Obviously they were slacking but playing compassionate leader to one up them was too much effort, especially when he didn't know what good the girl's favor would do.

Mason puffed out a cloud of smoke, inclining and turning his head slightly away from her, however his eyes remained on the new girl. "You smoke?" he dug out his pack and offered it to her.

He threw his head past her shoulder. "Wherever you're supposed to be, it's not here." Mason walked around her. "Come on, princess." The name was a lot more demeaning than endearing coming from Mason. He smirked and led the way in no particular rush to get anywhere. Just his luck to get a fragile newcomer. Mason glanced to her again then his cabin. Gutsy to approach the darkest cabin of them all. "Wander far from the trail, little thing?"

Image "Alright, but you asked for it."

Duke smiled, that sounding a little more like the Ajax they needed. Together they headed to the grounds and Ajax smacked Duke's shoulder to indicate he was ready. This was the when and where it was happening. Duke turned to a ready Ajax in boxing stance. "What, no rules first? No kidney punches, powers?" Try as he may to teach the children of Zeus the value of calculating and evaluating a situation first, it wasn't very successful. They always ran by impulse and gut. That had a place in the fighting world but sometimes it was good to think first.
Duke rolled out his shoulders and held his palms out until a ball of flame appeared. He raised a brow then hurled it towards Ajax.

Ambitious and competitive as both men could be, they never aimed to do any serious damage on one another. So Duke gave him plenty of time to dodge. From there he let Ajax call the rules and set the tone of the training. Duke had to remember it wasn't for fun or himself as much as Ajax's benefit so he picked up some pads and holding them out for Ajax to strike. "Happy to play therapist if you need," he said as he moved his hand in to meet Ajax's punches then glanced to his brother's face. Ajax was better at hiding emotions than Alex, but he was still soulful and his expressions gave it away. "How are you and Andy doing?" he asked to prompt conversation and some of the emotion out of him.

Duke started to strike back to keep Ajax on his toes. He pulled a couple punches with his left then hit Ajax with his right. He then tried to grapple Ajax and pull a wrestling move but ended up laughing at a struggling and heavy Ajax. He stumbled away with a laugh unsuccessful in his execution.

"What about Alex then?" he said panting lightly. The amusement of the situation faded to the background. "I know you worry about her safety, but....what are your thoughts on the whole Jennova thing?" Both men had heard Alex confess she was haunted by it, and even Duke became slightly worried for her mental state. But hearing Ajax's thoughts on the murder and his sister, that was a whole blank space.

Image “Sometimes our mind represses things to protect ourselves,” she said. Keith nodded. Of course it was possible his mind was putting all those protective barriers in place but being in the dark so long only lead to more anxiety. There had to be a time to know the truth and he wanted it as soon as possible.

Evelyn's hand took his with such tenderness it surprised him. He watched her, turning over his arm to inspect another scar. He wondered what was going through her head. Her expression answered that pretty quickly. "It's not the worse of its kind," he told her and tried to smile. Keith had another bite mark on his shoulder, something bigger and deeper that made the one on his arm look like a love bite.

“Keith, if someone has been doing this to you we'll find out who and why.”

He smiled weakly. That was his one wish at the moment. He just didn't have the slightest idea how they were going to unfold the truth and break his barriers. But at least he had a partner now. She stroked her thumb over his wrist repetitively and soothingly. Actually it was incredibly soothing. It was probably a pressure point trick but he didn't mind and accepted it as his eyes got heavier and mind turned blank for the first time in a long time.

When he woke, he wondered how long he had slept. Through to the next day, a month, a couple hours? A glance at the clock and med hut suggested a couple hours. But it was a terribly dull place. Almost empty with a couple murmured whispers like it was forbidden to talk and be joyous. This was supposed to help injured and ill demigods. The whole atmosphere was depressing and appalling. Keith's eyes found a radio sitting on the shelf between a box of tissues and papers and pens. It flicked on playing the middle of a classic song louder than average, startling staff. One hurried towards the radio and promptly switched it off. Straight after she looked to Keith pointedly and he half smiled. Typical that his powers worked accidentally for something as small as music.

Keith sat up and threw on his top. He had waited around enough, wasting the day by sleeping. Maybe it was irresponsible to take off before formally being dismissed but it was time. "Do you know where Evelyn went?"
"No, but I really do prefer you stay under observation for a little longer."
"No thank you, miss." Keith placed his glasses on and rose, though immediately doubled over cradling his torso.
The nurse rose her brows and gestured to bed. Pain was a normal side effect of getting shot. It was time to get a little rebellious. Keith straightened. "Miss, I would appreciate your departing words of advice and...a bottle of pain killers please," he said wincing and doubling over slightly again. The tough act guy couldn't be for everybody.

Despite his mini failure, it was an overall success, Keith able to walk out of the med hut with a bottle of pain killers. He breathed in the fresh air then wandered off in search of Evelyn.

Evelyn paced back and forth. Whatever good a book could do, now was the time to showcase it, but mainly the solution was waiting. Gradually, when the body and brain felt ready, the individual would experience flashbacks or dreams to deal with the trauma. This natural way however, wasn't a timely guarantee and therefore no help with Keith's case. Nobody had to be an expert to sense his distress. Evelyn ended up sitting on the grass and biting her nail as flipped through the pages with a free hand.

A roar of thunder distracted her and dark clouds rolled across the sky. Evelyn quickly dismissed it, shaking her head to herself and urgently scanned the pages for other remedies before a downpour followed. One page did suggest hypnosis but it could have bad repercussions or not work at all. Nothing was 100 per cent and came with potential risk and reward. Unfortunately it was hers to weigh up. With not much to lose, her mind was made rather easily and she approached the med hut again.

“Keith,” she said to herself surprised he was out and about. “Keith!” she called and rushed up to him. “Are you crazy, you look horrible.” Evelyn slid an arm around his back to support him.

“I think I know what to try. We just need you comfortable,” she told him lowly and helped him to his cabin. There was never quite as much comfort as your own bed after all.

"Trin, I know sometimes it feels like we are all just playing a role in Ajax and Alex's game of thrones. It can bother me too from time to time, but after what we all went through last year, I owe it to them to have their back. Don't get the wrong idea though. I am much more loyal to Ajax than I am to Alex. To that point, I am much more loyal to you than I am to Alex. If it came down to it, I would have your back before anyone else here, including the Valis'. I think you worry yourself too much. You are just as gorgeous and powerful as Alex. I'd say even more so, actually."

His response shocked her, particularly the tail end of him supposedly finding her a bar above Alex. But she quickly found a counter argument, being charm. She didn't have anything against the Valis duo, she just wanted to understand the worship and loyalty they got without lifting a finger. And why Alex...devious Alex clicked her fingers, or flicked her hair and got what she wanted. But Mason was right, the rest of the demigods could be damned as long as the Zeus kids had each other.

"Honestly, I didn't do anything with Alex last night. We didn't even kiss. That might be hard to believe, but I promise you it's true. She was just so drunk, and I don't trust the new guys enough to let her run around like that. I just wanted to get her safely into a bed. I was pretty mad she busted up our conversation though. I'd rather talk to you all day than deal with Alex wasted." It was a bit of a stretch to believe. A girl flirting transparently enough for even Trinity to see and feeling his muscles up verse, an untamed conversation with her. But Theo struck her as someone with a bit more sense than to take advantage of a drunk.

Theo stepped in front of her and she knew she was in trouble because her anger made way for something else as he lowered the bow. "It wasn't necessarily the best setting to figure something like that out, but from what I could tell, it was good. There was a lot of intensity in that kiss. I just wish I could've enjoyed it more." Trinity raised a brow waiting for the punchline. He stepped closer, closing the space between them cautiously.

Trinity looked between his eyes and lips before she put a hand on his chest as a brace. “Thank you for your honesty.” She was more appreciative than she could express for him assuring his loyalty to explaining what happened with Alex to talking about their kiss. “Besides, you couldn’t handle another one.” Trinity smiled teasingly and cupped his neck, planting a lingering kiss on each of his cheeks. That was the best she could do to express her affections for him without giving him another intense kiss.

She guided Theo aside with her arm and took aim again, narrowing her eyes on the target, remembered her breathing and shot at the bullseye. Trinity smirked and pressed her tongue to her cheek trying to tone down how smug she felt. Actually it was a combination of pride and smugness making it a failure to conceal. Trinity placed down the bow finally and turned to her tutor. Since he had done massive favors for her state of mind, she could throw a bone in his direction. “You know, I have to give credit to Alex, you are pretty firm. Such nice guns, Theo.” She couldn't resist mocking the last part and laughed.

She shifted behind the range and gestured Theo forward. “Floor's yours.”

Image “I prefer not be called by the same name you use for your penis.”

Mason's brows shot up and he chuckled quietly. "That was uncalled for," he muttered. Lucky he was secure enough in his package to not be so insulted. When she saw it, then they could talk.

When he recovered from his shock and her coughing fit, there was a passing thought of silence but Evangeline had different ideas. “I was just lost in thought. I was wondering what the deal was between Ajax and that Hecate girl, maybe you know?”

Mason couldn't help but grimace. Imagining the two together and talking about the two was such a sickeningly popular topic. Also, the deal between the two could get confusing. "It's complicated." But why was the new girl curious and why did she think he would indulge in gossip. Did she want Ajax for herself? He'd recommend the poor soul to stay away, he wasn't worth the drama and cat fight.

As he checked his company, she raised her hands. “I’m not trying to pry or anything, but I’m Aphrodite’s daughter so happen to know a thing or two about love.” There it was. Mason took a long drag, delaying his response for as long as possible. “And I can tell, that girl doesn’t love him. She loves-“ Evangeline stopped and Mason did too meeting her eyes. “Well, someone else.”

The notion that it could be him left him speechless and motionless. It actually hindered him for a moment or two before Evangeline touched his arm. “Tell me what you really think.”

"I -" don't. Don't give this girl an inch. Mason closed his eyes and clenched his jaw to keep from the urge to tell this girl his thoughts. "I think she's doomed," he admitted and opened his eyes on the pretty blonde. "I think they're gonna stay in their toxic relationship until the end of time. She'll never give him up and neither will he. Sometimes I think I could treat her better, that she shouldn't have given herself to him. I can't have her though because I'm not going to be good for her either. And I think your love radar is way off base." Despite the uncomfortable beginning of the confession, he eased into it and found it all rather therapeutic. It was his true belief that Ajax was an ass and Andy an idiot and they were going to be on a roller-coaster with big highs and major lows. As for the princess of Aphrodite, her love radar was bullshit because Andy wouldn't have given herself to a guy if she didn't love them. And if he was loved he wouldn't feel alone.

Mason flicked his cigar away. He heard others approaching the path and wasn't really in the social mood and the shadows had made way for the sun. That left one door for escape without being a venomous prick. "Forgive me, princess." Mason wished he could be slow and steady to avoid startling her, but he wound an arm around her waist, pulled her to him and cupped her face then kissed her. Time was of the essence and a daughter of Aphrodite wouldn't mind, right? It'd just feed their ego, they'd think they're irresistible, it's just a kiss. Public affection was one of those highly uncomfortable things to witness so either she kissed back and he got all 'embarrassed and quiet' and potentially left, or she hit or shoved him away and in his shame, he walked off. Mason was more than willing for the consequences.

Image Ajax's swings got harder and Duke braced himself better for impact. "Sorry." Ajax broke off and steadied Duke a little.
"It's fine." Now he was at least ready for the strength in them. It was more important Ajax kept working it out.

"We're....I don't know. Since Jenn's death, Andy naturally took her friend's side as I would with yours, so... I don't blame her for wanting to stay away from me at this point. I haven't spoken to her since I snapped at her. My pride just, you know? maybe I should try and grab her when she's not around Prince Evil. I can... I don't know... say I'm sorry? but then again... that's just words. How can I show her?" Duke was torn between listening to Ajax and looking him in the eyes and meeting his hard punches.

He didn't have much to say in the way of love advice. "You know her better than me."

They continued training before the next topic was breached. "Well... obviously I didn't want her to murder someone else because that's not who she is. She was pushed too far. I understand Mason's anger and need for revenge, I mean... I'd be the same way if it were Alex who--" Duke just nodded. Who wouldn't. "But, I love Al. I can't turn my back on her. Even if she slaughtered the entire camp, I don't think I'd be able to cut my ties with her. I know it would be my responsibility to stop her if things started to get that bad, but... what if I can't? does that make me a selfish bad person?"

Duke opened his mouth to respond. For the greater good, he liked to think Ajax would intervene but he loved his sister to the ends of earth. Luckily Alex wasn't an evil person, she just let her emotions rule her sometimes. Yet Ajax's attention had moved on. "Duke," he said. Duke followed his gaze to the darkening clouds, a sure sign Alex was in some turmoil or trouble. Duke wanted to run with Ajax but surrounding her, chiding her or comforting her would only suffocate her.

Someone dashed by then as fleet as a child of Hermes. "What the..." He was contemplating which way to go. Towards the storm or after the girl.

Duke left the grounds as the storm subsided meaning Alex had been solved. That other girl was long gone. As the problems disappeared and he wandered around camp, another appeared. Something not right anyway. Evelyn was nearly carrying Daniel across camp. Duke jogged to help out, taking his weight from the red head. "Hey, I got him. Are you two okay?"

Image Speaking of the devil, she came in full form. “Keith! Are you crazy, you look horrible.” Keith hooked an arm around her neck while hers went around his back, though he tried his best to hold his own.

"I feel it," he mumbled.

“I think I know what to try. We just need you comfortable,” she told him lowly.

He frowned and nodded. "Okay. You're sure?" Keith didn't want to doubt his partner in this but there had to be more to the story.

Duke joined them suddenly and took his weight off Evelyn. The son of Hephaestus didn't play around. "We're fine, thank you. There's been tougher days." Pretty quickly Duke was able to get him to his flash cabin. Actually it was like a mini mansion and Keith felt embarrassed by how immodest it was, particularly in front of his company. "I...I really don't know why I'm assigned to this one."

Duke helped Keith sit on his couch. That was the end of his services but he stuck around seemingly waiting for something. "I mean I got shot so that’s why I’m a mess,” Keith said. The explanation was embarrassing but maybe it would send him on his way.

Duke stared a while longer. "And you didn't think to defend yourself with magic?"

"Seri...The idea did occur, once or twice."

"What happened to you?"

"I just told you -"

"Last year," Duke interrupted. He side glanced to Evelyn before his eyes landed back on Keith. "Between last year and this very day anyway."

Keith sat there trying to grasp what Duke was aiming at exactly. His memory couldn't jog on demand and he already had enough problems in that department. "You know, I think we can handle things from here." His dry tone said he had overstayed his welcome. Thankfully Duke didn't protest, instead he lowered his head slightly and left the room.

Keith sighed out then looked to Evelyn with a stiff smile. Comfort could be hard to find for a while but they could spend time idling chatting or playing board games or whatever she liked.

"Wow, so she really does listen...I'm midly impressed." She let her mouth drop, pretending to be offended but of course her acting skills could never hold.

Trinity watched Theo carefully, him completely in his element. "You really wanna see me show off?"

“That wasn’t showing off?” she asked pointing to his double bullseye.

"Watch this." Apparently, it was nowhere near his potential as he pulled a lever and targets appeared in different directions. Theo shot at them all with ease and grace yet he was sharp and efficient. Trinity was glued to the performance before her stuck in a spell of awe, envy and evaluation. A final target spat out and Theo turned his head to her winking. She arched a challenging brow hoping his ego would be his demise, meanwhile he sent his arrow dead center of the bullseye. Damn. Theo knew it too in the way he tilted his head at her. Trinity couldn't stop herself from grinning and shaking her head. He had every right to be confident and show off because he was amazing with a bow and arrows.

“This is exactly why I stole the crossbow in capture the flag.” Trinity smirked. Trojans would have been doomed with that bad boy in Theo's hands.

Theo held the bow out to her, raising an eyebrow at her. "You do half as good as that, and I'll go full wolf for you."

She snatched the bow from him. “Oh, you'll be going full wolf for me. Liked or not, Mr. Smith.” Trinity was pretty confident she could do half as good as that. But in the event she somehow didn't, Theo could step in her area of combat and challenge her there. “If I do half as good, you can make me breakfast in bed.” She chuckled, considering it'd be a decent achievement.

Trinity then prepped herself and headed to the lever. She pulled it then placed herself in the center again. Like Theo's round, the three targets appeared, one to the left, middle and to the right. She shot one at a time swiftly, getting close to the center but never hitting it. The last lot appeared and Trinity tended to the ones on the left, swept to the ones on the right that had got a lot more ascension. Then the middle. Trinity gasped as her arrow went over the falling target and reached back in her empty quiver for another shot. Hell no, not one is escaping my aim. She slid the quiver off her shoulder and dropped the bow again. Trinity conjured a dagger, threw it in the air and booted the handle full force sending her blade through the final target about 5 feet off the ground. Trinity smirked to herself. Targets were no different than enemies, they couldn't get away from the wrath of an Ares child.

She turned to dear Theo and picked up the bow. “Now big bad wolf, I hope that satisfies you.” She offered the bow to him. “Should I leave you and the archery area alone?” she asked, smirking at the suggestive undertone.

Trinity moved towards the exit, although she wasn't sick of his company or show pony antiques yet. “I'm grabbing a bite. You gonna be here or are you coming with?” She'd happily take his order if he had one and return to the archery with a snack in hand. Besides, watching him shoot was oddly satisfying. She could learn a thing or two watching his techniques and learn his weak points in case they were on opposing sides again.

“You know, Theo, it's a shame we didn't verse each other in the game. I would have loved the challenge.” It likely sounded like she was being cocky again about her fighting abilities, but she meant it as the highest compliment and honor. She felt the same about Ajax. After those little words she left the area heading for the hall.

Duke approached from the side and took Keith from her. "Hey, I got him. Are you two okay?"

Evidently not with an injured man in her arm hence Duke using initiative to help transport him. However, by supernatural camp standards, it seemed manageable. Evelyn nodded while Keith responded. "We're fine, thank you. There's been tougher days."

She didn't know where they were leading her exactly, but they came upon a cozy and luxurious looking building. Not really the text book definition of a cabin. "I...I really don't know why I'm assigned to this one." His words tore her from her evaluating state and she flicked up a smile for show.

Once inside, it seemingly didn't take long for the tension to rise between the two men. "I mean I got shot so that’s why I’m a mess,” Keith felt the need to justify himself in the thick silence.

"And you didn't think to defend yourself with magic?"

That was a sore spot and Evelyn fought the urge to intervene. Keith had to take care of it. "Seri...The idea did occur, once or twice."

"What happened to you?"

"I just told you -"

"Last year," Duke said abruptly and caught her eye. Evelyn cocked her head slightly and held onto every word that followed. "Between last year and this very day anyway."

Odd and precise. Evelyn was as silent as the men as the room became heavy again. "You know, I think we can handle things from here."

Not much caused the daughter of Nemesis discomfort, however lingering with Keith after being a bystander in the middle of their exchange did. Particularly because she knew Duke meant well in his own way too. Keith tried to smile to her. Evelyn mirrored his tight brief smile.

“Let me make you a drink. If not for you, then could I please have some water?”

Evelyn excused herself. When she left vision, she hurried after Duke. She extended a hand out to grab his arm. “Hey, what do you think happened last year?” Evelyn looked at him pleadingly, ready to latch onto everything he said. “He's...he's not well.” As honest as she wanted to be, it wasn't her business or right to tell Duke the full context.

“I need somebody who was close to him. Who knows what might have happened to him or who's out to hurt him.” Evelyn was still as desperate as ever for his aid. A seasoned camper telling Keith what happened might have been what he needed as a trigger. Duke was smart and observant. He'd be able to find the missing piece.

That's all Evelyn could do for now. Put some faith in Duke and do her best with what she had. Evelyn turned on her heels and got the drinks then tended back to Keith.

AJAX VALIS
SON OF ZEUS
Hex: Green |

Image "Forgive the intrusion, but my friend Ethan and I were just about to leave to go find my adopted sister, Iliana. She had taken off suddenly. Miss Alex, I do hope you feel better soon. Again, sorry for the interruption."

Alex didn't respond. Instead, she kept her arms wrapped around her brother who held her with his arm, her eyes watching as Ajax nodded once as a thank you before both of the guys headed off toward the cabins. They definitely didn't look like the sort to stir up something for nothing, or just to get a kick out of others reactions. Ajax understood their urgency to seek out their sister, and he wasn't about to hold them back from it, just to interrogate them further.

Being bowed to was a shock, but the other two's reaction to Ajax's authority wasn't.

“I didn’t mean for all that. Not that it’s worth much from the mouth of a Hera descendant, I suppose? I don’t take orders from you. But come find me if your feeling bored.” Ajax glared at Pete, and then looked at Sylas.

Sylas laughed. "No. Everyone else at camp might worship the ground you walk on, but you're not my superior. You are a camper here. Just like the rest of us." Oh how wrong he was. Ajax was more than just some leader/superior. He was heir to the throne of Mount Olympus. Ajax watched as he took a step toward the door, pivoting around so he was walking backward but still facing Ajax. "I'm not going to get scolded at like a puppy because I stopped your unstable sister from punching me. Ajax had to keep himself calm, hoping that Sylas wouldn't cross the line any more than that. Calling her unstable wasn't right, but any other words that came sprouting out of his mouth would, definitely, cross the line. "If you want me, come find me. But, it looks like you have your hands full anyway," There was no chance in hell that Ajax was going to run after him. He wasn't worth it. He'd allow the child to have his little staged limelight. For now.

They were both gone in no time. The son of Hera disappeared into the shadows, while Sylas confidently strolled down the path towards the woods.

Ajax rolled his eyes and clenched his jaw firmly as he shook his head. Both of them no doubt peacocking around the camp.

"Shall we get something to eat and drink? we haven't hung out together much, and I need to talk to you." They could have just spoken there, but it looked like Alex hadn't been eating much, or sleeping as much since her complexion was looking a lot paler than her Greek rooted tone. She had forgotten to take care of herself as she slipped into more and more depression. This entire situation with him neglecting her and leaving her on her own was a bad idea. He never should have allowed her to be by herself when he knew what happened with their mother.

ALEXANDRIA VALIS
DAUGHTER OF ZEUS

Image Alex silently nods before she follows him towards the hall.

She didn't have much of an appetite these days, but getting time with her brother... she needed it. The hall was lined with tables and chairs, a small reminder of a high school canteen. Only this time, the food was actually decent with no angry lunch lady glaring from behind the counter, making sure everyone enjoyed every mouthful of her food.

Alex took a seat after her brother did, and rested both her arms on the table. "So what did you want to talk about?" She frowned softly as her eyes remained on him.

Ajax glanced briefly across the hall towards the door before looking back to his sister. "About, mom."

Alex closed her eyes for a second or two before she sighed, and reopened them. "Do we really have to? I mean... fine... what about her?"

Mentioning her brought back painful memories for both of them, but Ajax needed to get to the bottom of what happened. Surely then the entire camp would cease from the drama it caused with not only Mason, but others that took his side to defend him. "Tell me exactly what you remember that night, and... how you found out the truth."

Alex took a deep breath and exhaled gently before she began to tell him all that she could remember...

It was during last year at camp, and during the holidays, Demi-gods and Demi-goddesses could choose if they wanted to remain at camp or spend some time with their family before returning for their new term of training. Camp Athens wasn't all training, though, there were always events and plenty of activities on the grounds such as... canoeing, hiking, swimming in the large lake that connected to a cascading waterfall, horse riding, training grounds, art room and so much more to fulfill everyone's needs.

Alex had decided to head back home with her brother, but it wasn't for long. A short-lived trip that had turned into a life-long nightmare.

With Ajax back in his old familiar room, and with Alex in hers, he decided to head out to check the old neighborhood. A culdesac in Nova Scotia; Canada. His old friends had long gone from the area without a single letter or text, so he cut all ties with them and paid attention to the only friend he knew and trusted. Duke.

Back at the house, Mrs. Parkingston, the neighbor who lived across the street with her husband and cat, stood in the window after flashing lights of blue and red filled her lounge. She peered past the cream curtains, straining her old eyes to see. An ambulance, along with two police cars had parked outside of the Valis residence.

Ajax remembered he had sprinted towards the house when he saw the paramedics wheeling out a body. The sheets covered in blood. His heart sank. "MOM? ALEX?" he shouted for them, hoping the body had been an intruder who had broken into their home, leaving the asshole to deal with his mother and sister. Inside, he only found Alex being handcuffed with tears running down her face.

"AJ!" she yelled to him as the police took her away.

"No. Let her go... you have this all wrong. My sister isn't a killer. Al, don't say anything. I'll bring you a lawyer."

Snapping back to the present. Alex sighed. "Before we left camp, I had found it sitting in my room. It definitely wasn't mine, or... I don't remember it. It was pretty, so I wore it. I can't remember killing our mother, but the memory of everything came back to me in small doses after the bracelet was removed from me. They wanted it for evidence as it was covered in blood." She took it out of her pocket and placed it gently into her brother's hand. This time there was no traces of blood.

he studied it carefully. "So it was cursed?"

Alex nodded. "Must have been. Maybe we can ask Evelyn or Daniel and see if they can find any traces of magic left on it?"

He nodded. "Good idea, but first, I need to call a meeting. Finish your food while I go and announce it." He leaned over the table, and kissed the top of her head before he headed outside and towards the staff's cabin.

The speakers came to life in no time. "All camp members, new and old... please head to the hall for a meeting." With that short announcement, Ajax headed back to the hall to Alex, and waited for the arrival of the others.

Image He was on his way out of Daniel's cabin when Evelyn grabbed him. He looked to her hand first then met her pleading eyes. “Hey, what do you think happened last year?” Duke sighed out and shifted his weight. That would be a long story and Daniel didn't seem too open to talk about it himself.

"Anything could have happened to him, he and trouble constantly met half way." For that exact reason, Duke didn't have the slightest idea what could have happened last year for him to change so much.

“He's...he's not well.”

"That, I know. Look, you and staff know him as Keith but his name's Daniel. There was a war and no one had seen him since. And from what I heard, he wasn't in a condition to walk off or teleport anywhere." Duke didn't see what happened to the camp's favorite magician exactly but he knew Daniel was widely believed as deceased.

“I need somebody who was close to him. Who knows what might have happened to him or who's out to hurt him.”

Duke knew it was Evelyn's way of asking, relying and suggesting his assistance in one. He looked off in the distance. Part of him didn't want to tangle with such a case but he couldn't refuse to help. He nodded to Evelyn then left in search for someone. A Valis might have fit the criteria, he knew Alex and Daniel had a brief thing, whereas Ajax was well informed and trust worthy. Then there was Andromeda to consider of course.

"All camp members, new and old... please head to the hall for a meeting."

That saved him going on a wild goose chase. As he headed to the hall, the same place others were being corralled, he saw Wesley and jogged to join him in stride. "Wesley, did Alex give you your arm?" Clearly Wes didn't have the prosthetic arm on, but if it needed adjustments for comfort or size, the sooner they worked on it the better.

He almost missed the short and timid company Wesley was in. Almost. Duke second looked her and smiled slightly. "Hey..." he recognized the girl as the one that had darted by in the training grounds. But that run wasn't one for training or fun. He could ask if she was okay now but that might have risked some unpleasant emotions resurfacing."I missed you before, I'm Duke." He held out his hand.

Image Evangeline's mouth was still for a bit but then she kissed back with a vengeance. And it all became rather pleasurable and less about escaping people. He could have kissed her a while longer but she pushed him away with a hand on his chest looking towards the retreating figures. It worked better than he could have hoped. Maybe he should have smacked lips with strangers more often.

“Looks like the peanut gallery is gone. What a shame.” At those words, he looked at her again to be met by a smirk. “The blonde one was gorgeous, we could have asked him to join us.”

He snarled, showing his obvious disgust in the comment. Those Aphrodite kids were flimsy and a little too loose for his liking.

“Oh and forgive me if my love radar is screwy, it might be because I’m not related to Aphrodite. I believe you call my mother Hera?” Mason did his best not to give her a reaction, but it was evident he was displeased. Her lies were harmless but gave him a complete different impression than the snake underneath. His confession before suddenly seemed not just gossip but ammunition for her. Mason inhaled through his nose suppressing the urge to charge her and torture her until she turned into the fragile girl she played for real. Then again, taking down spoiled bitches might have been more of Trinity's domain.

“He’s all yours. But be warned he’s a sloppy kisser.” The remark seemed a little out of the way to try annoy him, but got his attention on Sylas. He rolled his eyes and approached the son of Eris.

"At least I got a kiss out of it," he said, for once trying to see the bright side. Once Evangeline was gone, Mason finally smiled. "If I was her, I would have held that card a little longer. She would have had so much potential. But now...tut...such a waste." Mason could throw off her game with other campers if he so desired. Luckily for her he didn't care that much about fellow demigods so it wouldn't be a frequent disruption.

"So what about you Sylas? What have you been up to?" In briefly knowing the guy, it was likely he had been doing something. It was just a matter if the guy wanted to show and tell.

When the announcement came on Mason cracked another cold smile. "I suppose we're all heading to the hall then." And Mason did that without any audible complaints, though not exactly a good pace either. When Ajax came over the system it usually wasn't for personal reasons.

Mason didn't bother sitting, hoping it was at least a brief little gathering they were having then he could slip straight out the doors again. Mason saw something then and slowly moved across the back of the hall, prowling towards it. He didn't want to catch the attention of others, much more for Andy to see it first.

Image The tension was palpable and there was nothing he could do to change it but wait it out. Evelyn offered to get some drinks and Keith directed her to the kitchen. Even she wanted to escape the mood of the room for a bit, a sturdy daughter of Nemesis. That must have been some record. Sitting there alone for a time, Keith thought Evelyn might have outright abandoned ship. His gut sunk. He had to see it coming. But she returned with their drinks and Keith lit up.

"Do you want to play anything? Cluedo, aahh monopoly, 21, Yahtzee, Operation?" Admittedly they were games better played in a group larger than two but he wasn't one drowning in popularity and options.

Apparently there was no time for a game to come out because Ajax came over the speakers requesting a meeting in the hall. "That's a bummer." Not that his guest likely shared his enthusiasm for a good old fashioned board game.

Keith headed over with Evelyn slowly, his goal walking there being to show he could get there in one piece his own without using the red haired girl as support. He was very pleased with himself when he stepped through the hall doors. He shuffled out of the way of entering and exiting demigods and sat on a table near the back wall. He thought he was pretty safe there, not in immediate view or in the way, a wall behind him, minding his own business..

"Daniel? What are you doing here?" No such luck. The son of Hades wanted to torment him now.

"I was told to come to the hall like everyone else. If you want this spot, just take it." Keith moved to his feet choosing to avoid conflict, but was shoved down again by the shoulders.

"I can't believe you're alive," he spoke in a hushed tone, eyeing him head to toe. Okay, he was useless and uncoordinated, he got that but that was a little harsh. "How are you here?"

Keith noticed Mason was blocking the door from view, cornering him. "A series of travelling methods, you know car, plane..." Mason frowned, apparently it wasn't the answer he was after and he looked displeased. Keith fiddled with his arm cuffs. "How...how were your holidays?"

"Seriously?"

Keith nodded hesitantly as if it were a trick question. There was another heavy silence. Maybe he should just be master of tense moments. He looked around uneasily for witnesses to the assault to come. "You don't have to go into it if you don't want," he muttered.

A sad reality ahead of her was that loud people existed. Not the guy, but the girl. “Petey! I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” Er, god Her luck. “I met someone. This guy named Wesley, he’s the son of Aphrodite, and he was is sooo adorable.”

Trinity narrowed her eyes doing her best not to jump to conclusions. Aphrodite's kids were supposed to be adorable, it was a wide known fact. It just meant she laid eyes on him, Wes was himself and this girl's swooning about a good looking guy being nice to her.

“I know, I know. But Pete, he asked me out. Well, he didn’t exactly ask me out, he asked me to drop by his cabin tonight. I said no, because I’m not that type of girl but he’s just too fricking cute!”

What!? Trinity scoffed. Did he value his life? Did this bimbo value hers? She was terribly confused by the lack of sense in camp. Trinity was frustrated at the news, somehow doubting the invite was to play chess. The second emotion stirring was disappointment. She'd have a lot more respect for Wes and his new toy if he hadn't proposed a date and confessed earlier he wanted to play the field.

Trinity opened her mouth to speak but Ajax's voice came over the speakers of camp. "All camp members, new and old... please head to the hall for a meeting."

Another idea struck her. Thank you, Ajax. Time to announce her presence before she heard another damn nauseating word. She summoned a blade in hand, tightened her ponytail and quickened her steps to walk around the pair, but ended up knocking the blonde with her elbow and dropping her blade before her shoe. “Oh my god, I’m sorry.” Trinity swooped down and grabbed her blade and stood in front of the pair. “Can you imagine if it actually impaled your foot. You’d probably want to kill me…and fail. She set her eyes on the female.

Her eyes flickered to the male. He was easier to look at: less punch their face, shove it in the ground until it suffocates on the earth vibes. “Pete right? Hey, I'm Trinity. Sorry, I just couldn't help but overhear everything.” Again, directed towards/about the blonde, although this time she kept her eyes on Pete. Not that obnoxious girls such as her cared. Trinity did go to high school and some things never changed. "I'm going to 'accidentally, tell the whole world." Yeah, fucking right.

“Anyway, I'll see you at the hall. And you take care of your friend now, don't want her sleeping with any riff raff and pissing off the wrong people.” Trinity did her best angelic smile, whereas blatantly, the translation stood as keep that bitch on a leash.

Trinity hurried off to the hall then. She had no intention of joining them for company, besides she was fairly certain she had proven to be unpleasant company herself. Once inside she took a seat and sighed waiting for whatever announcement had to be made in this meeting. She paid a glance around the hall and saw Theo had made his way in and smiled a little, but their eyes never connected, him on the lookout for someone else. Long as Wes didn't sit with her, she should have been fine. She wanted more demigods to file in and surround her so she was inaccessible or Ajax to start his mind-blowing, freeze where you are speech.

"That, I know. Look, you and staff know him as Keith but his name's Daniel. There was a war and no one had seen him since. And from what I heard, he wasn't in a condition to walk off or teleport anywhere."

So he wiped himself off the grid or something awful happened to him. Something profoundly terrible. Duke nodded and Evelyn could breathe a little easier knowing he was out to get the missing ingredient.

Upon return, Evelyn was in a struggle to find conversation with Keith. Her mind raced with hundreds of thoughts including his name. He introduced himself as Keith, but experienced campers called him Daniel so what did she address him as? Perhaps it was a preference of associates. She'd stay in her lane in this instance then.

"Do you want to play anything? Cluedo, aahh monopoly, 21, Yahtzee, Operation?"

Initially it struck her as immature and shocked her, but she quickly found it endearing. “What?” Evelyn laughed lightly. “You wanna play games?” Nothing else sounded like Cluedo, Monopoly, 21, Yahtzee and Operation in the same sentence. “I don't see why not. I love a good game of Cluedo, it's not going to work with just two players though. Pick any other game.”

Before she could even retrieve a deck of cards or board game, Ajax's voice carried through camp regarding a meeting. She sighed out. Not long ago, she had moved Keith from the med hut to his cabin and now they were called to the hall. It wasn't the son of Zeus's fault, it was just bad timing because they had also just settled down.

Evelyn hovered by Keith who made a point to walk on his own. Evelyn was half exasperated and amused by his male pride. But before the whole camp saw him hobbling along awkwardly, Evelyn pressed a hand over his bandage to block the pain and keep his stitches in place. “That's better.” She smiled.

They reached the hall and Evelyn drifted from Keith. She didn't need to be a helicopter mum, she needed to see who and how they interacted with him and let him fight his own fights. Unless it was the son of Hades looming over him. No, don't interfere. Let things run naturally. She set her eyes forward where the children of Zeus resided.

"Is it a just a stereotype, then, that Eris children are all manipulative?" Sloane chuckled at Ji-hyun's comment, quickly bringing the soda to her lips. She wouldn't say she was manipulative, but that she is manipulated by her brother to do so. She never met any other children of Eris, but she could only assume that most of them fit the bill.

After she mentioned her own stance on her parentage and what came with it, Ji-hyun seemed interested, even leaning forward in his seat. "What can you guys do? I assume children of discord are able to influence emotions, but I'm not too sure of your other abilities."

"Yeah, we can manipulate emotions... It tends to work with existing emotions, just kind of twisting them or heightening them rather than drawing from something new or characteristic. I guess that would also depend on someone's subtly, or lack thereof." Sloane leaned back in her seat, her brows furrowing while her fingertip traced the brim of the can. She had never been asked to list what she is capable of. It all felt so fluid, a small part in a bigger machine. "I can also cause chaos... like make people violent or angry, kinda like an aura type thing. But the thing I'm best at is hallucinations... Like manipulating perceived reality."

Sloane parted her lips to say something else when thunder rumbled overhead. It was so loud it made her jump slightly where she sat, looking to the window, surprised at how dark it had gotten in the short time she was in Ji-hyun's cabin.

"Ah, those two, on the other hand... they could be good at what they did if they wanted to, but with all the storms they're bringing to camp it's a wonder the ecosystem isn't entirely ruined by unnecessary amounts of rain." Sloane looked back to Ji-hyun, smiling slightly at his comment. "Total waste of energy if you ask me." Her eyes widened as she nodded her head silently in agreement. It took her a long time to learn how to fully control her abilities. It took patience and practice... And she didn't think the Zeus duo knew that, or cared.

"But nevermind them. You were saying?"

Before she could attempt to say anything further, a voice echoed over a P.A. system that must have been setup throughout the camp. "All camp members, new and old... please head to the hall for a meeting."

Sloane didn't know the voice, but whose voice did she know beyond her brother's and Ji-Hyun's? She sighed, finishing the last bit of the drink she was offered before moving to her feet. "I guess that means us too?" It was more of a rhetorical question. Sloane would have much preferred hiding out in that cabin all day avoiding meetings, other campers and her brother, but it didn't look like that was an option. "Are you coming?" She asked looking back toward Ji-Hyun as she stepped toward the door.

It wasn't long before they found their way to the main hall. A handful of campers had already arrived, faces she might have seen in passing but Sloane couldn't put a name to a face. Instead of trying to make idle chat with people she didn't care to know, she found her way to an empty table and took a seat. Hopefully, whatever this meeting was, wouldn't be long. She highly doubted it involved her.

The young blonde seemed apprehensive at first, hesitant to approach him or maybe not knowing what to make of Wes. But he didn't move instead just deciding to remain where he was. There really wasn't much else he could do. After a moment she slowly approached him and sat down in the grass beside him. She then pulled out a notepad and proceeded to write.

Wes's brows furrowed as he watched her, before the girl turned the pad around and showed him what she wrote. "My name is Iliana and my mother is Demeter. I can't talk. I've met your mother years ago. She was nice."

He had to fight the urge to laugh at the comment. Iliana seemed genuine in her remark. Wes's own relationship was nothing so simple. But it'd make sense for someone like Aphrodite to have a natural compassion about her in regards to others. He nodded his head and gave him best smile. "I'm sure she was."

Wes didn't know if he was thankful or annoyed at the sound of Ajax's voice echoing throughout the camp. On the one hand, he didn't have to dive into his relationship with his mother... If it could even be called that. But, he also wasn't in the mood to leave Frank or trudge his way back toward the main part of camp. Either way, it didn't seem like he had a choice.

With a sigh, Wes slowly lifted Frank from his lap, giving him a final pet. "Alright buddy, my cabin is down that way," he said pointing in the general direction of his cabin. "If you ever need some carrots, come on by." He stood up slowly and motioned his head toward the center of camp. "We've been summoned," he chuckled.

They were nearly to the hall when Wes heard footsteps approaching from behind. He glanced over his shoulder in time to see Duke approaching. "Wesley, did Alex give you your arm?"

Wes glanced down at the place where his right arm used to be, confused. "Wouldn't it be like... decomposing by now?" The thought of his previous arm and the state it would be in made his face scrunch slightly in disgust. But after a minute, he connected the dots and his eyes widened. "Ooooh. Yeah, no. I haven't seen Alex since Capture the Flag."

He looked toward the hall as Duke and Iliana acquainted themselves. Wes cleared his throat and nodded his head in the direction of the hall. "I'll see you all inside." He slowly entered the hall and scanned the room for either an empty seat or a table to join. When he saw a tuft of familiar blonde hair, a small smile grew upon his lips and he took a step toward her. But then he froze, able to feel the anger and animosity coming off of Trinity even at that distance.

Part of him thought he should leave her be and that whatever was bothering her, she could come to him if she needed him. But Wes never liked seeing her upset, so he slowly made his way over to her table. "Hey," he said softly as he placed his hand on her shoulder, taking a seat beside her. "Is everything ok?" His gaze scanned her face for an answer while he gently rubbed her arm with his thumb.

The unfamiliar blonde parted herself from Mason and trotted her way toward Sylas like she didn't have a care in the world. “He’s all yours. But be warned he’s a sloppy kisser.”

He couldn't help but chuckle, raising his brows in amusement. "Well, I wasn't planning on making an honest man out of him." Sylas pushed off the tree after the blonde left, looking toward Mason as he approached.

"At least I got a kiss out of it." Fair point. Who didn't enjoy locking lips every once and awhile. "If I was her, I would have held that card a little longer. She would have had so much potential. But now...tut...such a waste."

"Some people are narrow minded... Lack vision." He shrugged his shoulders. "I do believe I must have met a brother of hers. Interesting. Seems they may do my work for me... Take the fall for it too." He smirked slightly. "Even better."

"So what about you Sylas? What have you been up to?" Mason asked. But before Sylas could answer the inquiry, an announced rang overhead. Was that really his ploy? Neither himself nor the other guy wanted to listen to Captain Camp, so now he calls a meeting of the entire camp. What a pussy. "I suppose we're all heading to the hall then."

Sylas couldn't help but roll his eyes. Not at Mason, but the situation. "I was making good on my word, he started as he walked alongside Mason, heading toward the hall. "It's seems Alex is inches from going over the edge. It was almost too easy sending her into a fit. Almost took the fun out of it."

When they reached the hall, Sylas lingered for a moment, adding one final statement before they parted ways. "I should probably warn you, that in persuading her toward instability," he said with a hushed tone so only Mason could hear. "I had to implicate a certain favorite of yours." Sylas then gave Mason a reassuring pat on the shoulder as he walked past him. "But she seems tough. I'm sure she'll be fine."

With nothing more to add, Sylas entered the hall, his eyes quickly setting upon his sister sitting at a table with the boy he saw her with early. Sylas was never the subtle type, nor did he care about making shitty first impressions with people he didn't care about befriending. "Sloane... What are you doing?"

Sloane visibly tensed at the presence of her brother at the table. In that moment she wished Ji-hyun wasn't there and he didn't have to see this. Or that her brother didn't set his sights on him. "This is Ji-hyun."

"I didn't ask who you were doing. I asked what are you doing?" Sylas's gaze shifted over to the unwelcome male sitting with his sister. "Why are you wasting your time here? She's just playing you like she does everyone else. She's just using you. Sloane doesn't make friends with worthless no bodies."

"Sylas, stop." She was visually uncomfortable, no longer able to meet Ji-hyun's gaze or her brother's.

"Or what?"

"Trinity's an Ares, right? I'd love to train with you guys, if you'll have me."

"Yeah, of course." Andy smiled. "I mean, you'll learn a lot more from her. But, you're always welcome. And we operate under a no drama umbrella." She laughed softly. There was so much drama already at camp, that, at least, during training, they could not think about it.

Andy propped herself up on her elbows, looking over at Emery as she spoke. "My grandma, yeah, she pretty much raised me. She was the toughest old lady I ever knew, and she wanted me to be perfect so she tried to lead by example." And then there was silence. "I miss her."

"I miss my brother," Andy admitted. She knew Emery might not know the whole story, not like the others at camp. Someday, she would have to tell her. Maybe that was something else they could share? A sympathy of loss. But right now wasn't the time. She didn't even know if she would be capable of getting through that conversation at the moment, with the news she just learned. How would Andy explain that? Her brother died in a war and now is back, but isn't, but she doesn't really know because she hasn't set eyes on him? That was too much to lay on someone all at once.

Then with the incoming storm came a whole other boat of drama. It seemed Andy just lived in the middle of it no matter how much she wished she didn't. "Set who off?" She didn't have to answer the question, Emery pieced it together fast enough. "I take it you're not the biggest fan of the Zeus children? Or... just Alex?"

Andy laughed weakly. "She uh... Killed my best friend's sister. I was the first one to arrive after it happened... I buried her." She sat up right, shrugging her shoulders. "That changes your opinion of a person."

Then as if right on cue, Ajax's voice alerted all the campers to head to the main hall. Andy couldn't help but sigh. She was enjoying this... A moment away from all the drama, with someone who didn't sit there and tell her that her best friend was a piece of shit or her boyfriend was a piece of shit. Just a kind face to talk to and forget. Andy moved to her feet and offered Emery a hand. They took their time walking there, or maybe it was just her. Andy wasn't particularly in a rush to get back into a crowd of people who were ready to rip each other’s faces off.

She followed behind Emery as they walked into the hall, catching sight of Theo who seemed to be looking out for her. "I think someone is looking for you." Andy smiled, nodding her head toward him. "I'll catch up with you later." She gently patted Emery's arm before she moved her way through the room. Andy saw Trinity and Wes, glimpses of Alex and Ajax, who she was in no particular rush to go and talk to. It didn't take her long to find Mason, talking to someone she couldn't make out by the back of their head.

Andy weaved her way through the people until she reached him, gently hooking her hand in the bend in Mason's arm. "Hey," she said softly to get his attention. "I'm sorry about leaving. I needed air and—" She stopped mid-sentence when she saw Mason's company. The sight took the breath from her, leaving Andy standing their in a dumbfounded silence. It looked just like him, short brown hair, height... face, but the expression was mischievous and his eyes were different.

She didn't know what to do or to say. Her grip tightened on Mason's arm like a life line as she looked this Keith dead in the eyes, trying not to be hysterical and shake the true Daniel back into him. What was she supposed to say? It didn't matter when she couldn't bring herself to speak. "I... uh... Do you know who I am?"

AJAX VALIS
SON OF ZEUS
Hex: Green |

On the outside, Ajax looked confident, but as he watched everyone enter the main hall, he felt his confidence flicker like a breeze against newly lit flame. He had never grasped the horns of leadership, not properly, but he was doing his best, or so he told himself most nights. So many wrong choices, but even leaders can't always be right. He still blamed himself for the lives that had been prematurely snuffed out last year, even though he knows it's impossible to save everyone. Not even Gods have that power.

Fate is fate.

At camp his efforts had never once been for his father, they had been for the camp. Even if some of them hated him enough to want him dead alongside his sister - a gentle soul that had been touched almost by death, and darkness that wanted to consume her. She hardly had any fight left, and all of that was also his fault for not being a better brother.

He had left her thinking she could handle it on her own as she was strong, but the death of their mother had broken her spirits. No-one on camp had the right to dig their heels into someone suffering mentally. Especially when they didn't know the origin of their entire story, and why Hades was so determined to see the great fall of Olympic Gods.

With Alex not far from him, she sat at the table he had left to make the speech he was dreading. He had no idea what everyone would think about him or his choice of words, but they needed to be aired.

He now stood at the front of the room and paced gently as everyone took their place. The large doors shut, and all eyes were on him, waiting patiently to hear what he had to say.

Image "Earlier on today someone deliberately pushed her" he glanced to his sister, catching sight of Pete sitting across from her, but turned back to the room. Alex could handle herself, but just encase Pete did try anything, Duke was within decent proximity from him to react quicker than Ajax. "Have you forgotten she's my sister? she's unwell, and some of you find it funny to pick at her like she's less than you? she's not a bad person, and if I hear anyone bringing up the topic that got us in this mess in the first place, just one word, then there will be trouble. I couldn't care less if you don't like taking orders.. you will, or you can just leave the camp right now. If you think you'll survive on your own? then leave."

ALEXANDRIA VALIS
DAUGHTER OF ZEUS
Hex: #d63b71|

Image When the boy from earlier came and sat across from her, she couldn't believe he actually had the nerve to after what he said to her brother, and the way him and Sylas began to creep into her head to unhinge her more than she was already. What? so now he wanted to chit-chat and be friends? was this another little plan of theirs? was Pete working with sylas and Mason?

Even though she had no clue what this guy's intentions were, and that her trust meter was shot to hell, she still felt he wasn't as bad as the other two.

She understood why Mason hated her and wanted her dead, but what was the issue with Sylas? possibly got the wrong information, put 2 + 2 together and got 6. Or maybe he just loved to toy with others like a cat who eventually gets its cream. Would make sense considering the Godly parent he spawned from.

"Give me one good reason why I should even talk to you?" she asked Pete. , and while waiting for his reply, her attention briefly found Duke who leaned his perfectly muscled frame against the wall. Something in the room had caught his attention. "Aja..." he trailed off. Ajax hadn't heard him, and Duke decided against what he wanted to say anyway and left it at that.

Alex wanted to smile even now. Duke always had their back no matter how many rumors rooted themselves across the camp. He was never disloyal.

"Hey," Wes sat next to her, placing a hand on her shoulder and her blood boiled. She wished she could sear it with a touch. "Is everything ok?" He even rubbed her arm and acted attentive to her.

She sighed deeply suppressing the urge to lunge on him and demand to know why he wasted her time, what his angle was, break his hand, but it had to wait. Time and place. “If you could not talk right now, thanks, I wanna listen to Aj.”

Before there could be any announcement, that same girl -the same fucking girl from before happened to stumble between Wes and herself. Trinity shot up to her feet like it was coffee being spilled on her. “You imbecile!” she snarled and retracted her arm when she grazed it as if she had the plague. She was half an imbecile for dropping her crisps, but mainly she was one because she didn't heed a very clear warning. And bending over near Wes; she could go direct to hell.

“I- I’m sorry! I didn’t- I mean, I’m not- like,” she was a stumbling mess but Trinity didn't give a damn. With a last look at her, the girl fled. Trinity went to grab a fistful of her hair and slam it down on the table but pulled herself short. She clenched her fists tightly, digging her nails into her palms instead. She paced for a few seconds in no condition to sit and listen to some speech.

Fine, it was coming out now then. Trinity turned to Wes and sat back down mechanically...reluctantly. “I hear you got yourself a date tonight. And it's not me.” She beat him to any stupid remarks regarding their date that was planned at some stage in life. “I'm sorry I give a shit about my friend and aren't some obedient, affectionate barbie doll but if you wanted to jump ships, all you had to do was say.” She did her best to keep her tone even.

When most the hall seemed settled, Ajax spoke. "Earlier on today someone deliberately pushed her. Have you forgotten she's my sister? she's unwell, and some of you find it funny to pick at her like she's less than you? she's not a bad person, and if I hear anyone bringing up the topic that got us in this mess in the first place, just one word, then there will be trouble. I couldn't care less if you don't like taking orders.. you will, or you can just leave the camp right now. If you think you'll survive on your own? then leave."

Some of us wouldn't be able to survive alone. Good. I dare you to leave the hall. Trinity waited for the opportunity to pounce but she knew they'd stick in a pack. But Ajax...Ajax had got his mean harsh helmet on which she kind of admired. If that topic was Jennova and Alex though well...Trinity hadn't even got to voice her opinion on it yet. Too bad they'd never hear it then by Ajax's law. Before he could continue to expand his speech, they were interrupted. By the Gods. Zeus and Ares entered the hall. It reminded her of the first time she saw Zeus and hid in front of Wes and he chose Theo for a quest.

Trinity looked to Theo and smirked knowingly. Imagine sending him on another one. But Zeus announced a trial was in order for Alex and they were all to spectate it. Trinity gave it a while for people to get any questions out then after substantial time, she spoke. “Can we go, now?” It was best for her to zip out of the hall before Wes could say or do something that could get himself hurt. She wasn't really in the mood to listen either.

Once she got the all clear, she was the first out of there. Somehow she doubted a change of scenery would improve her mood, then they'd go straight back to their cabins from Mount Olympus and that wouldn't be good either.

She couldn't help but observe the mini commotion around Keith. Suddenly she wished she had sat with him in order to access the conversation and interfere promptly. While he had managed the last year by himself, everybody had a breaking point. She didn't wish for him to reach it. Evelyn began a quick debate, weighing the pros and cons.

A few tables away there was a disturbing bang and Trinity was up on her feet, ready to turn the hall into her own brawling arena with a flustered girl before her. She even went to lunge for the girl but something or someone stopped her. Evelyn directed her gaze forward again, her mind becoming swarmed with different questions and concerns for the toxicity in camp. Further along, she even sighted Sylas imposing himself over Sloane and Ji-hyun. Get him, girl.

Somebody appeared in her peripheral and sat with her. She widened her eyes a little surprised and the concerns vanished. “Hi, I’m Eve.” The recent stranger said. Evelyn calculated the girl head to toe. Surely she didn't expect protection from the wrath of Ares with her. “I’m kind of new here, any idea what meetings like this are usually about?”

Considering she was relatively new herself, nor had there been many meetings in Evelyn's time, she could only offer ideas. “Umm…something relatively important? An announcement they only want to say once or something that concerns us all? Disharmony?” Once she said it, it was like a light-bulb moment. That's what it was about Eve. Chaos, disorder, black.

“Crisps?”

Her eyes fell on the packet offered towards her. “No, thank you. I don't like taking food from people, particularly ones I just met.” She smiled like it was a joke. Fairly quickly, Evelyn elected to change tunes. Charades wasn't a game she cared much for. “You're a formidable actress and you have a nice name. Mine's Evelyn. Are you looking for an ally?” She arched a brow awaiting the honest answer even if it was a bit much to expect.

Ajax began his speech then concerning Alex and challenged those to go on their lonesome who wouldn't listen to reason and authority. Who liked to tamper with others. Evelyn's eyes automatically drifted to Eve.

Then there were two loud thuds on the roof. She looked up, worry tightening in her chest expecting something to break through and start some massacre. The source came through the door though; calm and as authoritative as ever. There was an air of power about this man and her suspicions were confirmed when he approached Ajax. Zeus. Evelyn squirmed in her chair, suddenly become self-conscious and straightening out her clothes. Not that she was looking to be his wife or anything but it was Zeus so she could at least appear well-presented. Not to mention there was another God by his side.

"Starting from tonight, you will all make your way towards the beach where Ares and Athena will be waiting for all of you. You shall be coming to Mount Olympus for Alex's trial, and I will not tolerate bad behavior while you're there. Know you are in my domain. You may wander around the grounds, but know that this is not a vacation. I will allow you to speak to your parents if you wish. I have chosen the arena beneath the Acropolis. The rest of you will sit around the Arena, spectating." Her gaze shifted to Alex, seeing how she'd behave. The girl under the spotlight. Did she expect a trial or was this news to her too? "If you have any questions? Ask now."

“I was wondering why you've selected us all to spectate this trial, what purpose would we serve?” Evelyn belonged in such an environment but why jeopardize Mount Olympus's state with demigods that didn't have control or couldn't be trusted? She could justify an answer or two herself: they were her peers and in order to resolve future disputes they would witness the one trial and verdict together, but to hear Zeus's mind was a rare opportunity.

Once answered and the air was clear, Evelyn looked to Eve again. “At least you might get more than crisps in Mount Olympus. Hopefully it will keep you satisfied.” She smiled.
