D E M E A N O R

h e i g h t x // x6’2”

w e i g h t x // x205 lbs

h a i r x // xLong dirty blonde hair

e y e s x // xGrey blue eyes

o d d i t i e s x // xDespite his tall and intimidating nature, Heath is actually a big teddy bear on the inside, at least when comes to his adopted sister. As a result he’s done some ridiculous stuff to make her happy, like ‘play dress up’ when they were kids.

a p p e a r a n c e x // xTall and lanky, Heath has had to learn how to adapt to the world around him. While he gets his height from his father, he gets the rest of his appearance from Athena. Even though he’s think, he still takes cares of his health and is an excellent runner. Growing up in Scotland, he’s use to wearing comfy clothing. Almost all of his clothing is hand made thanks to his aunts (and his mother of course). He’s extremely picky about what he wears though due to his sensitive skin, which does annoy him.

P O W E R S

Genius Level Intellect x // x Heath has always been a fast learner due to this skill. His best use of this skill is through auditory means because he’s always listening. He also reads a lot.

Superior Lie Detection x // x Due to his superb listening skills, Heath has learned to detect lies better. This is his most used skill now because it helps him plan a course of action.

Others x // x Heath is great at strategy. However, when it comes to battle strategy, he’s still a novice, but wants to get better with this skill due to high expectations of being Athena’s son. Another skill he has but hardly used until recently was intangibility. Due to making a mistake in training once, he grew fearful of this skill, but after what happened to his adopted sister, he’s trying to get of this fear.

P R O F I C I E N C I E S

Honest x // x Heath hates lying and as a result he is always honest whenever he speaks. However he has gotten better at being tactful.

Perceptive x // x Being the observer that he is, he’s learned to take learn all he can about a scenario before making a decision.

Endurance x // x If there was one thing Long distance running has taught him, it’s to survive and persevere. He will never give up. It’s this strength of his that gives him the patience to help out his adopted sister.

W E A K N E S S E S

Stubborn x // x Like any Scottish person, he’s very set in his ways. Even though he likes taking his time making a decision, once he makes it, it’s unlikely he’ll change it.

Protective x // x Heath is very protective of those he cares about. This goes double for his adoptive sister, especially now that she’s clingy towards him due to her recent trauma.

Perfectionist x // x Due to his love for things to be in order, Heath has high standards for himself to get things right all of the time, even to others to some extent if he knows what they are capable of. He’s his own worst critic as a result though.

F E A R S

Losing Loved Ones x // x Due to all the things that happened to his adoptive sister, he’s become fearful of losing those he cherishes. This is why he’s protective.

Failing at his Duties x // x He is scared to let anyone down, especially since he knows his mother is a goddess. Failing her and the other gods terrify him.

Using his Intangibility Power x // x He didn’t start learning how to use this ability until he was a teen with his mother. One day he practiced on his own though and tried something too ambitious and got stuck within the walls of a structure. He would have died if his mother hadn’t found him. He since became too scared to try due to his fear of failure. After learning how instrumental this ability was in saving his adoptive sister though, he’s trying to get over this fear.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
xxxxxxxxxxxxx serious xx highly intelligent xx observent xx stubborn x

Growing up in the Highlands, Heath learned at an early age to grow a backbone. One had to be to handle those harsh winters. Both Athena and his father made sure he could persevere a lot of things, especially his mother. Because of this though he is not an easily approached person and hardly smiles. It doesn’t help that he’s a tall guy too. Growing up knowing he was the son of a goddess, he also place high standards on himself and this was where his perfectionist side came from. However his aunts were concerned he placed too much pressure on himself and wished he learned to have fun in life also.

Heath was very smart, even as a baby. He learned his abc’s by the time he was 2 years old and learned how to read by the age of 3. He learned not to rub in his abilities either and how pride could be a downfall if not careful with it. His high intellect had a double edge sword though because it was hard to talk to people his age and it was why he preferred to interact with people older then him. Only exceptions were his adopted sister and later Ethan, but only because they were demigods like him and could relate to his struggles as one.

While note a curious person, Heath couldn’t help but observe those around them. He would use this to better his own self when it came to judging others. Now if only he could be a little more lenient because of his tenacious attitude, he doesn’t like to be pushed or change his mind.

H I S T O R Y

Athena, being the practical goddess she was, ended up Heath’s father, Iain Taylor, for two major reasons, one- he was a very studious man and two- he came from a family that was into different means of metaphysics, even though he never did any of those practices himself due to have different interests. In fact he was a teacher at the local high school. Iain was definitely caught off guard by Athena, even without knowing her divinity. Being a master strategist she got to know his family first, which was important to him and actually revealed herself to his older sisters first to get their assistance after deciding she wanted Iain to help her have a child since the man had a hard time courting women. All her planning worked and eventually she gave birth to Heath. By then Iain had learned who she was and the entire family swore to secrecy about Heath’s lineage.

Even though Heath learned about his mother at an early age, he would rarely see her throughout his life due to how busy she was, more so then other gods. It became evident how smart he was and was labeled a genius at an early age. He was very thirsty for knowledge and his father ended up hiring private tutors because of his skills advancing beyond the normal school limit. He did prefer this too so he could spend time with his newly adopted sister, Iliana. He was 8 when she moved in and became very protective of her pretty quickly when he learned she had no father and her mother, Demeter, couldn’t raise her on her own due her own duties. She did come over by more often then his own mother though since Iliana’s powers required more attention then his. Her felt envious though due to the fact that the times he did spend with Athena, she would always give him praise for handling his abilities. She did make sure it never went to his head though by telling him stories of prideful humans from her own past. Heath only struggled with his powers when he started to learn how to transport through physical matter. He started learning this when he was a teen. At he had no problems, but wanting to practice more on his own, one day he decided to test himself and tried passing through a bridge. However he had a moment of panic and got stuck. He almost suffocated, but his mother sensed his distress and quickly saved him. It was the one time she scolded him and it was a blow to Heath but he did learn a valuable lesson that day.

Heath did struggle a bit deciding what he wanted to do with his life since he was good at so many things. He was 12 by the time he was ready for college level work and this was when his mother decided to have a more direct hand in his raising. Through her efforts, Heath was able to take online courses in college since he was too uneasy to be in a school environment. Since he loved reading, he decided on a career in the literary field and started writing his own fictional works under an alias with his father helping him since all of his works were self-published. It was during this time he started learning how to ‘walk through walls’ and had his accident. By the time he got a Masters in English, he was 18 and making enough money off of his works to live on his own. He moved out into the country more but still close enough to his hometown of Callander.

It was during this time period when fellow demigod, Ethan Knox moved in with him. Both young men were close in age with only Heath older by 5 months. Heath was a bit quiet around Ethan at first but did slowly warm up to him. This all changed when they got word on what happened to Iliana. Heath himself nearly lost it, but Ethan helped him calm down and they help Iliana get through her trauma. This experience makes the to men even closer and now Heath views Ethan as a brother. He did know about Camp Athens and even though he’s not looking forward to the warmer weather, he does hope the camp will help bring back the ‘old’ Iliana.

Heath watched the duels carefully. He was going to take full advantage of being a spectator and felt watching these duels could help him in his own. No duel was completely the same even though there had been similarities. Even before and after the duels, Heath watched the combatants' demeanors. He decided to not show any bias towards any of the duelists, until it was Iliana's duel. She had been terrified, but Ethan's words calmed her down. Knowing Liv and Nicholas were siblings, he already had an idea of what Iliana was up against. He listened carefully as Iliana interacted with Liv. He didn't like how the woman treated his sister and Iliana didn't seem to notice just how insulting Poseidon's daughter was. However she was telling her the truth too, that was until during the duel when Liv told Iliana was killing her. Iliana had been in perfect control until then. Heath mentally cursed. Liv was smart and used Iliana's fear to her advantage. After that, the duel got more brutal, but Iliana did surprise him in trying to get herself out of the precarious situation she was in. However in the end she did lose, which didn't surprise Heath, but he was still proud of her. Soon she returned to them and ended up laying her head on his lap and falling asleep, obviously exhausted. There seem to be a pause in between duels when Veronica suddenly appeared and addressed Ethan. This definitely caught Ethan off guard, probably because he wasn't expecting to be dueling a woman. Heath knew his friend had been raised to respect women due to his southern upbringing. So it was no surprised that Ethan escorted Veronica down into the arena. This duel was like the polar opposite of Iliana's duel. Ethan definitely went with his strengths. While Heath had seen Ethan use his abilities, he never saw him use them without careful planning. Seeing him think of a quick solution so quickly made Heath proud of him and just like what Ethan hoped, the duel did end without either party getting hurt. Heath had looked in Wesley's direction to see if he had figured out if Veronica was his sister. Even at a distance, Heath had felt her power affecting him even though it had been directed at Ethan.

As the duo returned to Heath, Ethan answered Veronica's question.

"It was a spur of the moment. My dad is an architect and I want to be one too, so I am used to careful planning when it comes to my powers. But I remembered that I can create anything as long as something has form. I can't create something out of nothing like Andy, the one who battled Nicholas."

Once the two part ways, Ethan sat down next to Heath.

"Well done," Heath said before the two friends continued to watch another duel.

Trinity and Rae's duel reminded Ethan of a Rodeo Bull ride when he went to Texas once with his father. Only a lot more intense. It was no major surprise Trinity did end up on top. What was unexpected was that Rae went full frontal and apparently had no problem barring all. Both Ethan and Heath looked away out of respect, but not before getting an eyeful of her obvious beautiful figure. It was a relief when the camper with Nicholas gave Rae something to cover herself. Several guys complained but for two very conservative men, Heath and Ethan were relieved. And that last duel also seemed to be the last one for Nicholas appeared in the arena to mention that. Heath wondered why but saw how much time had passed. Maybe they would pick things up another time. Heath looked down at Iliana and gently shook her shoulder.

"Lia, the duels are done for today," he said.

Iliana eventually came to and was surprised to see she had actually fallen asleep. She did feel a bit better though. Slowly sitting up, she looked at her brother.

"Wha?" she asked, her voice a bit groggy.

Heath smiled when he replied, "The duels are done for now. We can leave. Do you want to get something to eat? The sun is going down."

Iliana nodded and the trio left the arena and headed for the Main hall. They were almost there when they saw Liv leave and headed in another direction. This reminded Heath of the Iliana's duel and he decided to tell Iliana what happened.

"Um, Iliana, Liv lied to you during your duel. You weren't killing her. She did it to get the upper hand on you. You actually were in complete control of your power."

This caused Iliana to pause. Her eyes widen and sudden she felt anger, but not towards Liv, towards herself. She kept getting duped. Liv was a smart person and Iliana did inadvertently told her one of her weaknesses. She knew Heath nor Ethan wouldn't be so easily tricked.

Taking a deep breath, Iliana looked at Heath and Ethan and said, "I guess I better stop being naive then. I need to get stronger and smarter. I just don't know how."

Both guys thought about it before Heath spoke up.

"Why not ask Nicholas or some of the other girls here for help? Ethan and I will always be here to help you, but we're not experienced when it comes to fighting. We definitely need help in that area for sure."

Ethan nodded and the trio finally entered the hall, only to see Nicholas eating. When Iliana saw him, she thought of what Ethan and Heath said and made a beeline for him.

"Um, hi, sorry for interrupting, but I just wanted to ask you a quick question. You're here to help us train better right? I need to become a smarter fighter. Can you help me in that area? If you can't it's fine, I'll ask someone else."

Ethan and Heath allowed Iliana her space and got something to eat and sat nearby so they were within earshot.

Nelly enjoyed all of the duels. Having perfect visual memory, she knew she would be remembering everything she saw today. For her the most entertaining part was watching Liam knocking out one guy cold before the duel could even begin. She couldn't help but laugh at that, even though she did feel bad for the other dude. She was genuinely surprised when she heard Iliana speak. Wasn't the girl mute? She would ask her what happened when she got the chance. It was very interesting to see new campers show up. Nelly would have tried initiating her own duel, but another one would start up almost instantly. When Rae and Trinity's duel started, she was determined to get up and find out who had the same color chip as she did. That duel was definitely one of Nelly's favorites and she found herself laughing again after the duel was over. Rae had shapeshifted into a lion during the duel and when she changed back, she was in her birthday suit. What made Nelly laughed was some of the guys' reactions, especially Heath and Ethan's. It was obvious that most of the guys were enjoying the view though. Soon another new camper appeared and gave Rae something to put on. It wasn't long after that that Nicholas said the duels were over.

"Well shoot! I wanted to have my duel. Oh well," she grumbled before standing up and going towards the arena.

Approaching Rae, Nelly smiled and said, "Wow, Rae, that shapeshifting skill of yours was so cool. You and Trinity are awesome. Say maybe one day we have an all girls night and go skinny dipping hehe."

Nelly had been raised to be proud of her female body and so wouldn't be shy about baring all either.

Nick had been minding his own business, feeding his voracious and seemingly neverending appetite.

"Um, hi, sorry for interrupting, but I just wanted to ask you a quick question. You're here to help us train better right? I need to become a smarter fighter. Can you help me in that area? If you can't it's fine, I'll ask someone else." It was the voice of a female, which intrigued him. Obviously. When he glanced up, he sort of cocked his head to the side and gave her a studious glance over.

A light smile touched his lips because he’s a friendly guy. There was no need to be rude. As imposing as he might appear, Nicholas was a down-to-earth sweetheart – intercom oopsies aside. He picked up a plump red apple, planted an elbow on the tabletop, and took a crunchy bite out of it. It was a bit juicier than he imagined, so a bit of it ran down the corner of his mouth and dribbled down his jawline.

Smooth. Real smooth.

He was letting Iliana soak in her own question for a bit as he formulated his own opinion. Being the son of Poseidon, he supposed it was only fair that someone comes to him. He was the child of one of the three greatest gods. Supposedly, anyway.

"A smarter fighter," he parroted while his head nodded a few times and he took another bite of the apple. He glanced over her shoulder for a moment to spare a look at Ethan and Heath but paid them no mind for now. It seemed that the girl had come here of her own volition. He gestured toward the seat in front of him.

Nicholas, while he was many things that might make him appear untrustworthy, didn’t have an ounce of malicious intent in his bones. "Do you need to be a smarter fighter or a confident one? I’m not that smart, so I can’t give you the smart fighter playbook." He tapped the side of his head to make a point. "Don’t answer that. You already know. You’ve got to have confidence."

He finished up the apple while letting her stew in his words for a few minutes. There was no rush. As far as he was concerned, the girl seemed legitimately in need of some kind of guidance. He didn’t know anything about the Demigods here, so her wasn’t going to pretend to have knowledge that he didn’t possess. What he could offer was his view of her spar, which he watched closely, even if his head was planted in another person’s lap.

It was a nice lap… His thoughts drifted for a moment.

He blinked and was back to the matter at hand. He sighed deeply and let it out slowly, "The truth is that you will most likely never know your opponent. Unless you’re a super genius or maybe it’s your arch-enemy. You just need to know yourself and your own abilities. You don’t even have the basic skills to begin fighting “smartly”."

As he started to list off a few things, he lifted his hands and pointed to one finger for each item, "Confidence– first and most importantly. You don’t know your strengths, weaknesses, and the depths and limitations of your abilities." It might have sounded cruel or judgemental, but it wouldn’t serve anyone well to be dishonest about things. These things might be hard to hear, but they were necessary.

He crossed both of his arms over the table and leaned forward, "I’m not sure anyone can help you with those things. You have to find those on your own. Until you know all of that, no one can teach you how to fight." He looked her in the eyes, "But that doesn’t mean we can’t try."

He slapped the table top and gave her a wide and goofy smile, "But it’s going to cost you! You’ll need to be up at 5 am ready to learn. I’ll need a couple of hours of your time, too. It’s not an easy task, but I’m confident that you’ll get there eventually."

He pulled himself up and took a couple of steps forward. He gave her a light pat on the shoulder, "See you before the sun’s up tomorrow," he reminded her while getting on his way.

When he was on the way out, he slipped past Sloane and Rocco. "Cute pup," he mentioned in passing. He stopped for a moment and took a step back, "Good fight, too." Nick gave her a wink, tucked his hands into his pockets, and resumed his forward motion to the next destination. Wherever that was. He’s not sure. Sometimes he just wanders…

After some time he had stumbled upon a glint of red hair in the distance. Evelyn. Not that he knew her name. He could have gotten his jacket from her at that time, but with a single step forward, Sylas’ figure slipped into his field of vision. Shame.

It was probably better that way. While he wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed already, he was dullest when around beautiful women.

He turned to head in another direction, not about to intrude on someone else’s conversation. He didn’t care anyway.

Eventually, Nick found his way to a cliff, and in the longest distance, his sister was in the middle of the ocean looking like an evil Little Mermaid. He stood there with his arms crossed over his chest and wondered how much longer they would have to play this game. Nicholas didn’t want what his father forcefully bestowed upon him. If he could just hand it off to his wanting sister, he would do it in a heartbeat. He didn’t blame her for how she was beginning to turn out. It was not easy being the daughter of Poseidon – a misogynistic piece of work. She would be better suited than him. He wanted to be free of burdens but was overwhelmed by them.

It was just a shame. All that potential was slipping into the dark. He was supposed to be here for everyone, but he couldn’t help but feel drawn to trying to lift his sister up. She loathed him, but he didn’t hate her. He was sorry that he was her brother… and that being his sister, even if she was stronger or more willing… she was automatically beneath him because of that.

He pinched the bridge of his nose. What could he do, though?

"You should at least buy her dinner before trying to get her naked... Don't you think?"

It took Nelly a minute to figure out what the new girl was saying. When she did, she burst out in laughter.

"Good point, but I doubt it'll happen with a girl at least. I am pretty straight. Still I will freely admit I am clueless when it comes to attracting guys. Never had time for it due to traveling a lot and my mother was more focused on her job. Heck she rarely dated herself and said the only reason she hooked up with my dad for one night was because he had this 'aura' about him that attracted her. She had no idea he was a God though. Oh my dad is Hermes. Anyway, my name is Penelope, but I go by Nelly."

The conversation flowed around her, Cherise showed up and Rae introduced the new girl to her. Even though Nelly was a talkative person, this time around she decided to just listen in before responding to anything. The new girl finally introduced herself as Blair, and Nelly couldn't help but wonder who her divine parent was. Her thoughts stayed focused on the three though as Rae commented on Cherise's duel. Yeah, it certainly did seem that Cherise did have the upper hand. She too wondered what happened. After Cherise finished speaking, Nelly decided to speak up.

"I am bummed out I didn't get to duel. While I know I don't have fighting skills like you two, I do wish I could have had the opportunity to test out my skills. Maybe we'll pick up again tomorrow?"

That was when Blair spoke up and it sounded like she knew Sylas. Hearing she had slept with the man caused Nelly to sigh.

"You three really are good with guys. I seriously don't have any game at all. Maybe one of you could give me some tips. I was playing 7 Minutes in Heaven with Sylas for company and nothing came out of it. I think I annoyed the guy honestly."

The other three continued to talk and Nelly was enjoying their banter, even though Rae and Blair did most of the talking. She was a bit envious honestly, but she wouldn't let it get to her too much.

"You know… I haven’t properly met that one. He’s cute."

Nelly looked in the direction that Rae was looking and saw Duke. She never talked to the guy either. Before she knew it both Rae and Blair headed in his direction. Wishing the two luck, she turned to Cherise.

"You're archery skills are amazing, Cherise. That's definitely something I wouldn't mind learning myself. So what do you want to do now? Want to find Daniel?" she asked that last question with a wink.

Iliana listened carefully as Nick spoke to her. It never occurred to her that what she was lacking was confidence. Thinking back, whenever she saw both Heath and Ethan use their powers, most of the time they had no issues. They did have their fears of course, and with Heath he was scarred of one his own abilities, or not being able to perform it correctly. She wondered if that was connected to being confident in some way.

Finally Nick said, "I’m not sure anyone can help you with those things. You have to find those on your own. Until you know all of that, no one can teach you how to fight. But that doesn’t mean we can’t try."

It was then he offered to start working with her at 5 am tomorrow. Iliana's eyes lit up and she smiled nodding in excitement. Getting up early was never an issue, even though she tended to get up around 6 am to do some gardening.

"Thank you! I really appreciate it," she said before he left.

She watched him as he greeted Sloane and then leave. Suddenly her stomach grumbled and she realized she hadn't ate yet. Getting some food, she returned to Ethan and Heath.

"So how'd it go? Ethan asked.

"He said he'd help me, but I have to be up by 5 am. He didn't tell me where to meet though."

"Probably at the arena since that seems to the area for training. That's my best guess though. Do you want us to go with you?"

"No, this is something I must do for myself."

The trio stopped talking and finished eating. After they finished up, Ethan spoke up again.

"Well we still got time to do stuff. Do either of you plan on doing something?"

"I am going to head back to the cabin. I need to email my father since I promised him I email him once a week. Plus I am sure he'll want to know that Iliana can speak again. Then I think I'll work on my writing a bit since I've been neglecting it."

"Oh, can you tell father I said hi, Heath. I plan on finding either Lochlan or Cherise. I wanted to check on both of them to see if they were okay, plus I miss interacting with Cherise."

"You might find either of them near the arena since that was the last area we were at. Whelp, I am going to go.
I'll take your plates."
Heath said before taking the dirty dishes to the back and then leaving.

Once he left, Ethan and Iliana sat a bit longer before leaving themselves, both going in different directions.

Mount Olympus turned out far more beautiful than she could imagine, especially the gardens that occupied the realm in which Aphrodite had the pleasure to rule for herself. So many people tended the gardens for the Goddess in order to honor the beauty, love, passion, and kindness she had shown them over the centuries. Alex made her way inside a dome-roofed temple. "While your brother finishes his King training for the day, I want you to write letters." The Goddess began to explain the second Alex had arrived. Only it wasn't Aphrodite, it was Hecate. Alex's brows furrowed. "I want you to write everything about what has made you smile, laugh, cry, scared. Everything you can think of, even what you are grateful for."

"Okay, but... how will this help me to--"

"--Trust me. Just burn the letter of negatives. Every single one of them. I then want you to place the positive ones into a bottle before setting it into the water. I shall return shortly." without another word she walks away, leaving Zeus' daughter kneeling at the beautiful central water fountain. Around its base blooming in all colors, were sweet-scented flora, and the amber warm glow from the candles scattered around the room. Alex smiled as she closed her eyes and took a slow deep breath, relaxing her shoulders, before opening her eyes. Sitting at the base of the fountain on a flat gray stone were blank parchments and a quill. Alex unraveled the first one and took ahold of the quill in her dominant right hand while searching for the ink pot. Her brows furrowed for the second time as she brought the Quills nib up to eye level. It began to sparkle with golden specs. Of course, it was magical.

"Okay, so... negativity first." She swallowed firmly, already not wanting to revisit that section of her memories, but with Hecate involved, surely it would work out in the end. There was no other witch like her, and if her Father trusted her, then Alex could too. Alex pressed the quill's nib down, the golden ink etching into the parchment as she wrote. She did her best to write everything down that she could remember, before holding the corner of the paper to one of the flames of the candles, and carefully tossing it onto the stone where it burned away.

"Now one more task." Hacate waved her hand, causing purple smoke to collect the burnt pieces, which were then placed into the fountain. Hecate sat reading a letter she had received from Zeus while Alex began the next task.

She was just placing the positivity letter into the bottle when Hecate had finished reading. "Good, now place it into the fountain water."

Alex follows her orders. She watched as it bobbed gently for a few seconds before a golden glow like the quill's swirled around the bottle, its light reflecting back into her eyes.

"I knew what cure you needed for that anger of yours..." Alex turned her gaze toward the Goddess. "sadly it doesn't work on Gods." There were a few in mind she could think of who needed it - Zeus, Ares, Poseidon, and Hades for starters. Even herself at times.

Alex rose to her feet. "...Thank you."

Hecate smiled. "You're quite welcome, though it wasn't entirely your fault. You might still lose your temper from time to time, that's only natural for mortals, but you will have better control. You could have killed so many, Alex. Now, drink." Hecate motioned her head toward the bottle that remained floating in mid air.

Alex took a hold of the bottle, swallowing the liquid that felt warm against her throat.

It had only been a couple of days or so at camp, but oddly, time moved differently in Mount Olympus. It had been at least a month or two, but it felt like years. "Did... did father consider my wish?"

Hecate nodded. "He did... and he's agreed to let you both go back. Are you absolutely sure you want to?" Alex nodded "Alright. Go and fetch your brother then, and good luck." With a huge excited grin, Alex raced off towards the main hall.

Image Alex came running into the hall, causing Ajax to stand up from where he was sitting with Ares and Zeus. "Everything okay?" she couldn't be harmed here which had given him a break from being big brother, but part of him was always still ready just in case.

While slightly out of breath, she nodded briefly toward her brother before she turned to speak to their father. "Is it true? are you giving us permission to go back?"

Ajax turned his head to also look at their father who nodded from where he was sitting beside Ares. Alex almost squealed with the excitement she felt. Ajax, however, remained stoic. He was in two minds with himself - part of him wanted to go back, but the other part was unwilling to, knowing that Andy would now be official with Mason. It had been months for the Valises, but seeing those two together, knowing that he had failed her, bugged him. She would have made a remarkable Queen. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, but the question should be, Are you?"

"I guess we'll see."

Zeus stood up, Ares following his lead. "I am always here when you need me." He hugs them both. "Now go, before I change my mind." both of his children smiled before they left the hall.

"They'll be fine this year. You'll see." Ares was hopeful, even if his king felt less.

"I truly hope so.." He stood there as he watched them both stand at the edge of the clouds. Ajax took his little sister's hand, both smiling together before they took a dive towards Earth.

The air whistled passed their ears as they fell more than a hundred feet at lightning speed, and soon enough their feet landed safely and firmly on the ground, right in front of their cabin. "I can't believe that we're actually back... it feels like it's been years, And.. and the camp... it looks no different. I can't wait until everyone sees us. I feel like going down there and just--"

"--Alright calm down, and slow down." He chuckled. No doubt she'd be bouncing off the trees if she could. "I'm guessing they'll be heading to bed soon anyway, so that gives us enough time to settle back in before tomorrow."

Alex squealed. "Oh my god it's going to be AWESOME! the look on their faces, all of them... especially Mason's." Alex chuckled, then joined her brother who placed himself down on the hill overlooking the rest of the camp. The dining hall was still open by the looks of it since the lights were on. "You're worried, aren't you?"

Ajax chewed the inside of his cheek and nodded.

Image

"It'll be fine.. you got me at least. You know, your most favorite person in the world."
"I wouldn't go that far."
"HEY! rude.." she playfully nudged into him, throwing her shoulder at him, causing him to laugh.
"Alright, let's call it a night for now." Ajax stood up first and helped his little sister up before she followed him into the cabin.

Iliana listened as Lochlan answered her questions. Instead of giving her clarity, it only gave her more questions, but it being so late, Iliana knew they'd have to wait. Or maybe she should worry about them at all since Lochlan seemed to think the matter was settled. Still she couldn't help but ask herself these questions.

Why was he kicked out?

Who was his roommate?

What does he mean this is for the best?

"Night . . . " she replied as he wished her a good night too.

Waiting for him to go into his new cabin, Iliana finally turned to head back towards her own cabin which was far enough to allow her to collect her thoughts. Today had been a momentous day overall. She had gotten her voice back and learned she really need to make an effort to work on her emotional health more. She was still terrified of hurting others, but at least she wasn't going to try and cower. Poseidon's children helped her see that. Sure Liv took full advantage of her naive nature, but that wasn't her fault so Iliana couldn't get mad at her for tricking her. And of course Nick was going to help her train tomorrow. It was still very early, but Iliana was determined to not let him down. Maybe she should have asked Andy or Trinity for help, but Nick was there to actually help them so she was going to take him up on that offer. Plus he was more approachable than Andy and Trinity for despite her respect for both women, they still were a bit intimidating, especially Trinity.

As she past the armory, she thought of events after the duels. It had been good to talk to Cherise again. Nelly was something else. Outgoing for sure, but Iliana still didn't know what to think of her. She smiled when she thought of Cherise and Daniel. She might not know much about romance, but she could feel that the two really liked each other. Despite on how long it had been, she did recall feeling something similar with her parents in the brief times she remembers them together.

"I miss you daddy. Wherever you are, I hope you're watching over me. I know momma is," she murmured.

She finally reached her cabin and walked in. Seemed like Ethan was back for he and Heath were in the dining room talking. Hearing the door open, both turned to see her as she came in.

"Hey look who's back! Did you manage to find Cherise and Lochlan?" Ethan asked.

Iliana nodded and proceeded to tell them all that happened since they parted ways that evening.

"Well you certainly had more luck than me. I couldn't find anyone to talk to so I returned here and worked on some blueprints. My duel ended up giving me some ideas."

"And I emailed father. He replied not too long ago and is relieved and excited about your voice returning, Lia."

Iliana nodded before suddenly asking, "You never told me what happened during your duel, Ethan. Can you tell me all that happened after I fell asleep?"

The guys nodded and told her since it was really only the 2 duels after her duel. They wish they could avoid mentioning the part with Rae being nude but there was no way to get around it since she went full beast mode. Iliana giggled at that part and could understand why that would make them uncomfortable. Both were raised in conservative households and had never been exposed to something like that.

"That Veronica could have easily gotten to me. It's a good thing I have a little immunity to those who can manipulate feelings or thoughts since I can do something similar."

"She certainly influenced my emotions, but she can't really help it. I have been tempted to tell her Wes is her brother, but I figured she'd find out eventually. I wondered if she paid attention to Wes's duel and if he was watching yours, Ethan."

"Well, I am sure they'll both find out sooner or later. We did say would stay out of people's business so I am going to make an effort to do that. For now I am going to bed."

"Yes same here, especially if I am to meet Nick by 5 am tomorrow."

Things settled, the trio got up and went to their own sleep quarters to get some rest.

Iliana Remington-Taylor ~
Demeter ~ #4A766E
Ever since her abduction, Iliana had become a light sleeper. She use to suffer from insomnia those first few weeks of returning home, but eventually got over it, but she still found herself waking up during the night at the slightest of sounds. So when the earth began to shake, she was up in an instant. Something was definitely not right. Without thought, she instantly got changed, not even bothering to look at the digital clock on small cabinet next to her bed. After putting on her shoes, she finally glanced at the time. 3 am. And the shacking was starting to get intense. Wanting to check on Heath and Ethan, she rushed out of her room, only to see Ethan slowly open his door, still in his sleepwear, which was boxers and a t-shirt. He looked a bit out of it too and confused.

"What in the world . . . . why are you up, Iliana?"

Looks like he wasn't aware of the shaking.

"The ground is shaking, Ethan. Wake up!" she shouted, which snapped Ethan out of it.

"This shouldn't be happening . . . ." he said as he saw Iliana go into Heath's room.

Heath could sleep through anything, so Iliana wasn't surprised he was still asleep. She tried shaking him, but it wasn't working. Rushing back into the main room, turning on the main lights in the process, grabbed a cup, filled it with water and rushed back into Heath's room before splashing him with it. He woke up with a groan and cursed too. Still on his back, he opened his eyes to see Iliana's worried gaze and felt the earth shaking too. He didn't even question his sister, he just nodded and got up. Before getting up, they heard crashing in the other room.

"Let me get dressed, Lia," he said.

Iliana nodded and left the room. In the main room again, she saw Ethan still in his sleepwear and he had his hand on the wall of the house, his face in total concentration. He looked to be under strenuous work. Also, things had fallen down and were in disarray.

He saw Iliana's look and replied, "Shaking got worse and a crack appeared in the floor . . . . uh . . . . trying to keep the house together. . . . Be careful Lia . . . "

Nodding, Iliana knelt down too, only to try to connect with the earth more. While she couldn't stop the earthquake, she could see if it was slowing down or getting worse. Soon it stopped, but the bad feeling she was having wasn't going away, in fact, it felt worse. Meanwhile, Ethan stopped and took some deep breaths and Heath was there too, keeping an eye on both of them.

"Man, that was intense, I am already worn out."

"You did good Ethan,"

"Yeah, but our cabin though . . . ."

"Don't worry about it,"

Both looked at Iliana, who approached the front door.

"What's wrong Iliana?"

Her back to them, she answered, "We're not safe here . . . . danger hasn't passed."

Heath nodded and turned to Ethan, "Better get dressed Ethan. We're leaving. I'll grab some flashlights."

Ethan didn't question things. He was almost done dressing when he felt shaking again, only it felt different. Realizing he didn't have much time, he didn't bother to put on socks and just threw on his shoes just as Iliana burst through the door.

"A tornado is coming this way!"

Things began to move at lightning speed. The trio, each with flashlights, raced out of the house to see the tornado. It was small one, only an F1 or F2, but still dangerous. It came from the direction of the forest and was heading right for their cabin. Not wasting any time, they fled the cabin. However, Ethan was still tired from trying to keep the cabin in one piece, so he ended up slowing them down a bit. Heath kept trying to think of a solution to their predicament and was drawing blank, much to his frustration. Suddenly, the wind was too strong for them and they got swept up towards the tornado. They tried keep ahold of each other, but it was a vain attempt and all of them were blown in 3 different directions.

Ethan ended up crash landing near the main hall. Every inch of him was in pain and he had plenty of cuts and bruises already since the was debris in that tornado like broken glass. He was completely drained too and laid there for a bit. What now? He couldn't just lay there. He had no idea if Heath and Iliana were okay. Suddenly he heard a noise and laid still. Turning his head, he saw he was near the main hall, just to the side of it. He couldn't see the front of it though so he missed the big shadow enter it, but he heard a loud crash and a loud roar. A few seconds later he thought her heard a scream. Massive concern overridden any pain or tiredness he felt as adrenaline kicked in. Struggling to get up, not concerned for his own safety, he hurried towards the noise and felt someone's fear. He smelled something he never smelled before either (which was blood). However all, thoughts exited his mind when he saw a massive beast. A lion?! No this was no ordinary lion either. And the beast was targeting a young woman, who he didn't recognize, but that didn't matter. Working on instinct, Ethan found the strength to manipulate the structure of the building and encased the lion in a dome that came up from the ground. Not wanting to see if the structure would hold, he rushed for the dark hair woman.

"Stay still."

He knew only basic first aid, so he took his shirt off and tore it into large pieces to at least stop the bleeding. He knew the girl needed help fast, but the beast was trying to get out of his enclosure. He wrapped his shirt scraps around the girl's side and her injured leg, which was a mangled mess.

"I am going to pick you up. There's an infirmary near here. Oh, name is Ethan."

His own strength was waning due to his adrenaline fading, but he'd never ditch this girl now. Seeing cracks in the enclosure, he picked the woman up and made a mad dash for the infirmary. He took her in and put her on a bed in one of the rooms and locked the doors. He had a feeling it wouldn't help too much against that lion, so he manipulated the metal hatches on the door to seal it in place. Ethan returned to the woman to check on her.

"I am going to find something to heal those wounds of yours. I hope that lion doesn't find us," he said before going about getting things to help this person.

Heath ended up crashing near the armory. He couldn't help but curse again in pain. What a way to start the day, even though it was still in the middle of the night. Heath was hurting all over and he was sure his clothes were a bit tattered. He lost his flashlight too. It was a miracle he survived though. He just hoped Ethan and Iliana were okay. Carefully he moved his hands over his body. Sure, enough he could feel some tears in his clothing, but they would still be there at least. Also, he didn't appear to be suffering from any major injuries. He didn't black out either so no concussion, but his head hurt like hell and he no doubt be sore the next few days. Carefully he got up into a seating position and looked around. It was still foggy outside and he saw the armory. It was then he heard a growl. Definitely not a good sign. Staggering to his feet, he headed inside of the armory. He had no skill in fighting, but better to be armed than to have nothing. He grabbed a spear, shield, short sword, and a rope for good measure. He grabbed a sheath to put around his waist and put his short sword in. All of the while the roaring got closer, and the ground began shaking again.

Suddenly something large and monstrous crashed through the door. There was enough light for Heath to see it was a huge boar. He knew in Greek Myths there were such beasts. One faced by Heracles and the other target of a hunt. Which one would this be? He had huge tusks and eyes that seemed to burn like fire. One thing was for sure, Heath had to get out of this situation fast for being in an enclosed environment with something this big was not good. Suddenly the boar roared and emitted lightning at Heath, and he barely dodged out of the way. Well, he had his answer, this was the Calydonian Boar that was hunted by Greek heroes. Before he could think of a strategy, the beast charged at him this time and Heath only had time to bring his shield up, and it crashed into him, launching him across the room, causing him to hit a nearby wall. The hit caused him to drop his spear. Heath groaned in pain and saw the beast was going to charge at him again. He had to hit him in a vulnerable area. It dawned on him there. Picking up the spear, he waited for the boar to run. The beast took off and Heath waited for the perfect moment before at the last minute he thrusted the boar in one of its eyes. The beast roared in pain and Heath was surprised to not see any blood. Was this not real? It felt real. However now was not the time to contemplate that for the beast started bucking to try and get the spear out of it's eye for it was in deep. Heath tried attacking it with his sword, but it's hide was too tough to pierce through. Now what? Maybe his underside was softer? But how could he reach it with the boar moving so quickly. And idea entered his head and it was crazy, but it was the only thing he could think of. Taking his rope, ran at the beast and managed grab ahold of him and he hoisted himself on top. The boar started bucking in earnest, even spouting electricity again, but it didn't hit him thankfully. He held onto the beast hide for dear life as the beast took off running out of the armory, all of the while trying to buck Heath off, but his adrenaline had kicked in so he didn't dare let go.

Suddenly, Heath looked up and saw two figures. It was hard to make them out, but the boar must have seen them for he started heading in their direction. Oh shoot, this wasn't good. Heath saw that the spear he used was within reach. Thinking fast, Heath took his short sword and with all of hit might, thrusted into the beast's other eye. This caused the boar to stop, but it bucked hard enough to finally throw Heath off of its back, launching him towards the two figures, who just happened to be Trinity and Wes.

Iliana's landing wasn't nearly as 'smoothing' as Heath or Ethan's. For one thing, she ended up hitting the side of a cabin. The impact knocked her out for a few minutes. Eventually she came to, but she felt pretty ill and drained. What the guys didn't know was in the brief time they were in the tornado, Iliana had tried controlling it, but was unable to. However, she was able to keep major debris from hitting them all. It just zapped her of her energy more. Taking deep breaths, she tried to figure out where she was. She felt her head as she tried getting up and definitely felt a bump on the back of it. It was then she heard thumping noises as the ground shook a bit. Terrified, Iliana slowly moved to see a few large trees by the cabin. She hid in a shadowy area and tried to stay calm but her heartbeat picked up and she shaked like a leaf. She heard breathing noises as something sniffed. Suddenly the shadow she was occupying got darker and she looked up to see a large hand reaching for her. She screamed in terror as the hand got her.

Immediately she panicked trying to get out in vain and saw she was in the clutches of a giant that was twice the size of two story cabin. Instantly it started pouring rain due to her emotions going crazy. The giant started squeezing her slowly and she screamed in pain now. In her panic state, huge roots from nearby trees burst out of the ground to wrap around the Giant's ankles. It struggled against him, all the while the pouring rain made the ground slippery, and the huge thing tripped falling forward towards the cabin. When he crashed on top of it, he lost his grip of on Iliana and she fell to the ground. Even though she was hurting even more, her fear drove her to stagger up and tried getting away, even though her knee was killing her. The rain had slowed down though.

Nelly had been woken up when the ground started shaking. Sure she could sleep in any environment, but she wasn't a heavy sleeper. However she felt back asleep shortly, only to hear a noise coming from her roof. Now what? Annoyed, she tried falling back asleep, only to hear another noise, this time from the wall of her cabin. Annoyed and still half asleep, Nelly got out of bed, not hearing the slithering noises coming from her bathroom.

She opens the door to see a banged-up Fiona.

"What?" she asked, her voice groggy.

”Sorry, to drop by unannounced,” Fiona replied, trying to make light of the situation, it seemed.

Her own head clearing, Nelly was quick to notice the condition of her shoulder and pointed it out. What happened next was something she didn't expect for Fiona threw herself at the doorframe. The act seemed to do the trip and fixed her shoulder, but not without pain. Nelly was impressed for she had dislocated her shoulder once as a kid.

"Damn girl, you're hardcore. Come on in and you can tell me what happened. I guess I better get dressed,” she said before helping Fiona up and heading for her bedroom.

Fiona talked about what happened as she sat on Nelly's bed before laying down and falling asleep. By this time Nelly threw on some casual clothing as well as socks and shoes. Talk about crazy! It was baffling too on why this was happening. This camp was supposed to be safe right? Wanting some coffee, Nelly went into the kitchen, she started brewing some coffee and made sure to get an extra mug for Fiona. She hoped the women liked it strong for it looked like she would need it. When the coffee was ready, she took both mugs into her room, only to gap at the site before her. There at the foot of her bed, hovering over a sleeping Fiona was a huge snake, bigger than anything she had seen.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me!" Nelly complained. Without thinking she threw both mugs of hot coffee at the beast and it hollered in pain as it hit its eyes directly.

It instantly spitted at Nelly and she dodged to see it hit the floor behind it. It's spit was acidic as it created a hole in the ground. Nelly knew of poisonous snakes that spitted their venom, but never acidic. Wanting to get Fiona out of danger, Nelly ended up using her super speed to rush past the snake, grab the sleeping red-head, hefted her over one of her shoulders, and try sprinting for the door, only for snake to snap at her again, biting into her other shoulder. The pain was indescribable, but Nelly kept rushing at top speed and the creature couldn't hold on long enough to inject venom into her, but it tear at her skin as she detached herself from it.

Nelly ran far from her house, but quickly ran out of speed and dropped to the ground, dropping Fiona in the process as she grasped her shoulder. She may have super speed, but she didn't have the endurance to keep it up. Despite her shoulder killing her, she knew she had to wrap it up. She would find Cherise later to get it checked out for she didn't know how much damage she sustain. However she needed help. Looking at Fiona, she tried shaking her awake.

Duke was urged out of bed the moment the first quake trembled through camp. He peered out his window to see a thick, unnatural fog devour camp then dissipate gradually. Duke furrowed his brows as nothing seemed to immediately follow mother nature’s angry display of ground shaking and supernatural fog, but that was only a small delay because all at once, there were screams, roars and cry outs of pain and commotions that ripped through the night.

He got dressed in a hurry, snatched up his axe by the doorway and barrelled out the door, greeted by metallic projectiles that he managed to just duck and cover out of the way of. Circling his cabin in the air were six birds with beaks of bronze, particularly aggravated and apparently able to launch sharp-edged feathers. The Stymphalian Birds. Duke set his jaw and hurled a large ball of flame at the first one that hovered in front of him. Although it tried to ascend, it was too slow and disappeared into ash. However not his typical disintegrated ash and cinder, this was wispy and different somehow.

Duke's brows pinched together but he didn't have time to inspect or wonder because the remaining few swooped down on him in unison. He swung his weapon upward and flourished it around. The birds cawed in protest and flapped rapidly and dispersed to attack again. While they should have proven an easy task, being surrounded by a flurry of birds in his face and hearing constant ching of metal and caws while getting cut by beak, wings and claws, overwhelmed his senses and became hard to ignore the temptation to protect his face and swat them away blindly. A few of his turned wild swings hit, but non-lethally as it wasn't long before he had to swipe his blade to the next one that got too close.

Adding to the overwhelming barrage there was a big crash and clatter from the armoury - his charge, his work, his pride, sending him over the edge. With clenched fists and a war cry, sparks of amber began to climb up his arms and travel down his body before flame enveloped him and he made it roar to life to emit further from him. He hacked and sliced at the birds caught ablaze and anything that lingered within reach. The flames from him died down quickly but his focus and determination didn’t falter, sighting a bird retreat skyward, he hurled his axe with all his might striking it mid-air. The bird turned to golden dust while his axe dropped to the ground heavily. With the diligence of Hephaestus applied in battle even through the swarm of attack and fried and cut birds, Duke knew one remained. Suddenly a series of sharp-edged feathers flew at him, but he wasn't able to avoid them all when one struck him in the stomach. Taking him as off guard, it followed up by swooping down on him. Duke swiftly rolled his shoulder back and clutched the bird’s small neck that instantly began to attempt to yank itself free, and for a smaller creature, it had some decent struggle. Yet like he did so many times before with woodwork, he brought his free fist down repeatedly as a hammer on its head until the bird became disorientated. Keeping his grip firm, an intense heat took over the Avarian creature, then a brief flame consumed it before it vanished, extinguishing the fire with it.

More crash and bangs, and he saw a large boar charge out of his armory with a demigod barely holding on. Duke huffed out then heard a frightening piercing wail coming from the beach. With somebody already attempting to subdue the boar and damage done to the armory, he picked up his axe and ran for the beach, paths be damned.

He came to an abrupt stop beside Sylas sighting a massive sea creature. Duke looked between Sylas and the Kraken. Somewhere, Duke hoped Sylas would take initiative and charge in the water and either kill it by miracle or serve as bait. The night echoed with further screams and carnage. Duke had a pull towards the screams and to help but he remained still, eyes locked on the biggest threat in front of him.

All at once, the beach burst into action. The Kraken slammed down a gigantic tentacle on the beach and Duke ran out of the way. He went to swing for the limb but it was already retracted and carrying on for a second assault. Duke narrowly avoided the tentacle and hacked it causing the Kraken to unleash a screech. It lashed a tentacle at him knocking him away and taking the wind from him. Before he could so much as process it, another tentacle coiled around him and began dragging him to sea. Duke clawed at the sand desperately and tried with all his power to resist and pry free. Once Duke felt the cold water touch his torso, a renewed wave of urgency came over him and he managed to squeeze a hand loose and fire flame at the tentacle that threatened to take him deeper. Again and again until it hit with such force the Kraken did give a fraction and Duke squirmed free and retreated where water didn't touch him.

Wes was strong and she appreciated the shield his body served, but she didn't think she liked him so exposed still and not having her hands free and what if the danger wasn't over. Somewhere along the lines, Trinity dropped to her own two feet again but stayed incredibly close to Wes.

Preoccupied looking every which direction waiting for some other natural disaster to finish her and sticking to Wes to protect her vulnerability - Trinity only just sidestepped the flying or rather falling demigod behind Wes’s back, that crashed at their feet pretty hard. “Heath?” she asked peering over Wes's shoulder confused. Of all demigods, he wasn’t one that she imagined got into a brawl. Much more based on parentage, one he couldn’t win.

But soon enough the cause revealed itself as a wild massive boar that bucked and squealed madly with two blades in its eyes. Through its thrashing, it managed to jar one loose, weapon clattering to the ground. Like a switch, her worry about her nudity suddenly didn't exist.

Straight out of something from a horror, it suddenly stopped thrashing about, snapping its head in their direction even when blind, and what started as a simple spark pulsing along its tusks rapidly grew to lightning emitting from the beast forking out in several directions. She pushed the demigods apart out of its strikes, the light and power literally flashing before her eyes. The boar charged, covering distance faster than anticipated for an oversized animal. Trinity was just able to plant her feet and grab its tusks for brace and tried to fight the oncoming weight and momentum, digging up the ground, but it still forced her back a couple of steps until she lost her footing and the creature was able to ram her into a tree. It tilted its head side to side knowing its victim was right in front of it, wanting to slice her open. She was able to swivel and dodge the tusks only just, then it lurched in such a way it bit her with incredible force. “Oww!” she growled. She pushed the handle of the existing dagger deeper into its eye socket making it squeal again. It jerked its head, grazing her arm but she couldn’t let up.

She yanked the tusks with all her might until the pig flopped on its side. She summoned a blade to plunge into its heart but it kicked out knocking her aim off, grazing its underside instead and scrambled back to its feet. But with no blood...why was there no blood.

Too thrown by this new attribute, Trinity was caught in a crouch, frozen. She had to freeze, being level and face to face with the mighty boar less she want a tusk to impale her. She was so close could feel the warm breath of the beast on her. Which likely meant it could feel the same or smell her. She watched its nose twitch and pitless sockets, sure it would be staring at her if its eyes weren't damaged. Trinity braced for the worse, expecting it to erupt into a charge at any moment.

It was pitch black inside the kraken. Sylas scrambled to his feet on top of its massive tongue, swaying and stumbling like a babe taking their first steps. Everything went eerily still, just long enough for him to get stable. Not being able to see, Sylas struggled to get his bearings, running his hands along its slimy mouth in search of anything to hold onto. The insides of the beast were just as slippery as its outsides.

Then the kraken's tongue raised trying to tip him over and send him down its throat to be properly digested. Desperate, Sylas took his rapier and plunged into the giant tongue before he could be swallowed. The kraken let in a brief glimpse of moonlight as it screeched out in pain. The second it felt Sylas trying to climb to freedom it snapped its maw shut, trapping him in darkness once again.

Sylas pulled himself to his feet panting as his mind raced to figure out a solution. In the end, the only thing he could think of was leaving the kraken no choice but to spit him out. He gripped the handle of his rapier tightly in both hands and began stabbing at the creature's insides furiously... Its tongue, right cheek, left cheek, roof of its mouth, over and over and over. Sylas was drenched in sweat, sea water, spit and kraken blood, but he didn't let up, hacking and slashing like a mad man.

The sea beast thrashed and growled, but it seemed reluctant to open its mouth, proving to be as determined as Sylas. He was quickly growing tired. His wounded palms throbbed and burned at his tight grip, but he didn't let up. He pulled the rapier back once again and drove it forward, unknowingly straight into the kraken's third heart. At that moment a strong strike of lightning surged through the kraken. The current made a circuit through the blade and into Sylas, scorching his palms where he held the weapon, unable to let go. In unisons both him Kraken screamed out in a disturbing harmony.

While the lightning might have only lasted a second or two, it felt like an eternity to him. With his sword like a conduit, the shock ruptured not only the intended heart, but the third one as well. When the current finally died, Sylas's grip fell from the hilt as his eyes rolled back in his head. Like a domino falling in slow motion, his unconscious body tipped backwards. Just as he would have landed on the kraken's tongue, the giant monster vanished, dusting him in soot before he was engulfed by the sea.

Blair wasn't a tracker... or a fighter. So wandering her way through the forest with the echoing of distant screams, from campers and otherwise, proved to be a bit of a challenge. Luckily, she was smart enough to steer clear of any noises. She had no undying need to help any of the campers, she barely knew them. At that moment it was about self preservation and nothing else... Well, maybe finding someone who knew what the hell was going on and how to stop it. She highly doubted this was another training exercise.

It seemed when the screams might have faded away, for a time, there came hurried footsteps. Blair ducked behind a tree not knowing what to expect. Monster? Camper? Camper being chased by a monster? As the running drew closer, she noticed it was Nick and cursed under her breath. She didn't know if she was pissed or relieved it was him. Her brother told her to seek him out but he owed her nothing, and after what happened earlier that night she wasn't the biggest fan of him.

"Nasty gashes, but I can’t take you to the infirmary," Nick said as he reached her and took her biceps into his hands.

"I never liked hospitals anyway," Blair replied sardonically, using sarcasm as a defense mechanism like she often did. She sucked in a sharp breath and flinched as Nick started trying to bandage her shoulder. "Mother fucker!" she cursed, smacking his chest lightly in reflex.

Once Nick finished, he pulled a robe over her shoulders... Although definitely a woman's robe given how silky it was. Blair's brows furrowed slightly, but she didn't argue to the extra layer. She had almost forgotten she was shivering. There were more important things after all. "Rae’s out as a bird, so she won’t miss this for now." She was tempted to make a snide comment insinuating that he spent the night with Rae, but even Blair had enough tact to know that it wasn't the time nor the place for her little green monster to come out.

Nick took her hand and started guiding them in a different direction. "There’s a Kraken at the beach. I’ll need you to think about how we are going to defeat that while we help others and get everyone there."

Blair scoffed as she tried to keep pace with him and watch where she was walking. "Do I look like a Kraken slayer to you!?"

They seemed to traverse a fair bit of the forest without an incident, but it didn't seem like that was going to last much longer. There was fast skittering around them in the brush which sounded far too quick to be a demigod, or anything with only two legs. Blair's gaze followed Nick's back over their shoulders. Her eyes widened at the sight of spiders that could have given Shelob a run for her money.

At first they tried to run but they were no match for the speed of the grotesque eight-legged creatures hurrying after them. Nick hollered after a rather large beefy looking camper who wanted absolutely nothing to do with the spiders, and pealed off in the opposite direction. Without any other options, Nick turned to face the hoard of spiders, putting himself between them and Blair. While she was thankfully for the act of chivalry, there was also no way one man could take on seven of the gigantic arachnids.

Nick made quick work of a few of them, swallowing them up in a chasm, but there were still three that remained. He seemed capable enough to take on two of them, but that still left one that was barreling right for her. Blair wasn't even brave enough to kill a normal spider without calling on the butler or her brother, let alone one the size of a car! She didn't have strength or agility on her side, so when the large bug reached her she was able to dodge it for a moment or two before getting knocked to the ground. She plunged an intangible hand up into the spider's body, like she did with the horse, but only got a fist full of spider goo. "Gross," she grimaced.

Pissed, the spider scooped her up in two of its arms then quickly began ascending the closest tree. Blair struggled against its hold but accomplished nothing. In the blink of an eye they were fifteen feet in the air as its legs started spinning and rolling her into a webbed cocoon. The spider's silk, while easy enough for Nick to break free of, was too tough for her. Not wanting to be the monster's dinner and out of options, Blair went intangible and slipped free of the mummy-like wrappings. She fell several feet to the ground with a loud and painful thud that cracked a couple ribs and took the breath from her lungs.

The arachnid fell from the tree, landing above her with its legs encompassing her like a gross hairy prison. Before she could talk herself out of it, Blair grabbed the spider's back two legs and went intangible, letting herself and the back half of the creature sink into the ground. She hated letting herself phase into the ground, it was like swimming in a pitch black pool, she couldn't breathe or see which way was up.

After nearly a minute, Blair finally found the chasm Nick created and emerged a few feet down in the crevice. She gasped for air before weakly pulling herself out. Unfortunately, the spider still wasn't dead. While its ass end was stuck in the ground like cement, its free legs flailed around while the monster screeched in protest.

Tired and still trying to catch her breath, Blair grabbed a decent sized stick and walked towards it. As the the spider craned its head closer to try and bite her, she thrust the stick through one of its eyes and into its exoskeleton. The spider's head popped like beach ball sized zit, covering Blair in a putrid green ooze.

She stood there frozen in a shocked, and disgusted, silence as the arachnid vanish in a poof of ash and embers. Then all at once, she doubled over and wretched up whatever contents were in her stomach. She remained on her hands and knees heaving until nothing else came out, and heaved a bit more. Her body trembled violently. Blair couldn't tell if it was from the cold or the strong wave of nausea that overcame her, probably both.

She could barely steady her hands as she pulled off the robe and used it to try and clean herself. Blair was able to wipe the spider's guts away from her mouth and eyes, if nothing else, as Nick approached her, obviously free of spiders. "Catch up with Liam or keep up," he said before he started off towards the beach once again.

Blair's legs felt like noodles as she got to her feet and discarded the ruined robe. She did her best to keep up, but was quickly falling behind. Every few steps her stomach knotted, threatening to wretch once again. When she reached the beach awhile after Nick, her legs could no longer carry her. Her knees buckled and she toppled over, nearly getting a face full of sand before her hands caught her.

She watched the others dodge tentacles and fight the massive kraken from behind goo soaked hair. How the hell was Blair supposed to help? She wasn't a fighter, nor did she have a wealth of knowledge about sea creatures. The only thing that came to mind was that octopi have three hearts.... But how was that helpful? If a Kraken was enough like an octopus, it might have three hearts, but that was a shot in the dark. And, as it seemed, was knowledge that quickly became irrelevant.

Nick had just collapsed on the beach after stabbing one of the hearts. Then some flying boy with a lightning ball, presumably one of Zeus's bastards, landed beside him. ”Managed to explode one of the hearts, but that was after the damn thing swallowed one of us. I’m just hoping they survive in there long enough for us to get them out… somehow.”

Not a moment later, the kraken became a cloud of ashes and embers like all the other monsters when they perished. Just barely visible through the smoke, Blair caught a quick glimpse of Sylas as he fell lifelessly into the water. "Sylas!?" she called out.

With a new rush of adrenalin, Blair pushed off the ground and ran through the sand towards the water. She might not have been a child of Poseidon, but she was still one of the strongest swimmers at her prep school. Plus, Sylas was one of the closest things she had to a friend at this bullshit camp... And no one else seemed to be rushing to his aid.

Just as her feet touched the frigid water and she prepared to dive, a vine the size of an anaconda shot out of the forest, wrapping itself around her legs. Before Blair had known what happened, she was yanked to the ground and pulled back into the woods like a frog's tongue that had just caught a fly.

She screamed as was pulled further in, while rocks, branches and anything else on the forest floor scratched and marred her body. Blair tried to grab hold of anything and get free, but whatever pulled her was stronger. Far past a normal point of exhaustion and with her head bouncing around like a rattle, she didn't have the strength or focus to use her powers effectively. Once or twice she managed to make her legs intangible but it was only for a second, and once they materialized the vine got hold of her again before she had time to stand.

They continued through the woods trying to find someone else, or an intact cabin, all the while a bit too exposed. While Wes wasn't a bashful type of guy, it wasn't his idea of fun being completely nude with how cold it was that night. But more pressing, was Trinity not being fully clothed. Call him protective or selfish, but the only person who should see her like this was him. He didn't argue when she wished to walk rather than him carry her, but he still insisted on walking in front of her to help protect her modesty.

He wasn't as alert as Trinity was, so while she was able to dodge the flying demigod, when the boy crashed into the ground behind him Wes jumped, tripped over him, and almost fell over. "Heath?" Trinity said looking at the demigod on the ground.

Wes tried to keep himself between Trinity and Heath, last thing they needed was a nip slip. But quickly their nudity seemed to be far less important. It looked as though Heath had led a rather large boar in their direction. It squealed while kicking and bucking furiously. Luckily, the son of Athena managed to blind the creature. Unfortunately, that didn't make it any less dangerous.

To no surprise, Trinity was quick to action. She had the boar by its tusks and was pinned to a tree. Wes had half a mind to step in but with how close the creature was to her, he was worried about pissing it off more and getting her hurt. He gritted his teeth when she was bit, trying to think of something he could do. When Trin went to stab it in the heart, he held his breath hoping for her aim to be true, but in the very last minute it kicked and the blade missed.

Trinity was left crouched, frozen in front of the boar. Before common sense could worm its way into his mind, Wes raised his fingers to his lips and whistled loudly getting the animals attention. "Over here ugly!" The boar snorted then charged in his direction. Wes crouched like a sumo wrestler with his hands out and ready. Just before the angry swine could ram him, he grabbed its tusk and jerked its head sideways. Using the boar's momentum against it, he slammed his shoulder into is side and tackled it to the ground.

He wrestled with the boar, using all his strength and might to keep the creature down. Amidst their tussle, Wes got a tusk in his thigh and a few good kicks in the ribs. He groaned through gritted teeth, but didn't let up. After a few more minutes, bruised and bloody, he managed to get his mechanical arm around the boar's throat in a tight chokehold. One leg kept the animal pinned while the other pushed off the ground to give himself the most leverage possible. It squealed and screeched as his arm tightened and lighting began to spark along its tusks.

Wes only had two choices release the boar or get electrocuted. He cursed under his breath and clenched his jaw, bracing himself. The shock ran up his metal arm and throughout his body. Wes's skin felt tingly and on fire, but he didn't let go. His arm was short circuiting from the shock and he knew he didn't have long before it stopped working all together. With all his strength, Wes yanked back on the boar's head until there was a sickening snap and its body went limp.

Before it had a chance to vanish, Wes jumped off the boar cursing as he tried to remove his steaming mechanical arm. "Hot! Hot! Hot! Fuck!" He winced, burning his fingers as he ripped the arm off and tossed it aside. He stood still, his chest heaving and covered in sweat as he tried to come to terms with what just happened. His face scrunched catching a whiff of burning hair. He ran his fingers across his forehead, finding his eyebrows were singed off.

Then like the fog was lifted, he hurried over to Trinity. He held by her upper arms gently as his gaze fell on the bite the boar gave her. "Are you ok?"

Not giving her a chance to inspect his own wounds, Wes slowly released his hold on her and looked around until he saw a cabin not far away. "You need clothes. Wait here."

Wes grabbed a rock off the ground and smashed one of the cabin's windows. With little regard for cuts, he carelessly climbed inside. He had no idea who's cabin it was, that was a problem to worry about later. Wes quickly found a dresser and pulled out what looked like a mens t-shirt and basketball shorts. From inside he was able to unlock the door and return to Trinity without getting anymore scrapes.

He held out the clothes to her. "Put this on." Wes slowly turned around, using his body as a wall to give her some privacy to get dressed. Once she was clothed, he was able to get his boxers back from her so he wasn't entirely naked.

"Ok," he nodded his head trying to think of what they needed to do next. "We need to get you to the infirmary before that gets infected." Wes took her hand in his and started towards the main area of camp. It was nothing personal to Heath, but in the heat of the chaos it seemed Wes had tunnel vision. He was lucky enough to protect Trinity once, but it wasn't likely to happen again. He needed her safe more than anything.

With his adrenalin rush wearing off, Wes's own wounds were becoming harder to ignore. His thigh was bleeding a little more than he was comfortable with from where the boar's tusk got him and he was starting to limp. The blood loss was making him lightheaded. He did his best to shake it off but his pace was slowing. He released Trinity's hand and pointed in the direction they were heading. "Go... I'll be right behind you." The stubborn woman never listened to him, but he hoped, just this once, she would.

Heath groaned in pain as he slowly regained consciousness. His whole body was aching now. Not wanting to move, he slowly recalled what happened. He had gone to the armory only for a huge boar to show up. He did his best to deal with the creature and remembered he started charging towards two other campers. He couldn't remember who they were, but he managed to blind the beast. Oh that's right, it bucked him off. That's probably why he was hurting all over. Moving slowly, he deducted that he didn't have any serious injuries. He wondered what happened to the boar. It was then he heard noises, more like voices. Wondering what was happening now, he slowly turned to see two figures walking off. Where was the boar? He didn't see it anywhere. He wanted to call out to the two, but realized they were too far away. Best thing to do was to get up and hopefully catch up with them.

Slowly he sat up. He was going to be sore today, that was for sure. He sure hoped everyone else was okay. He was definitely worried for Ethan and Iliana, but for different reasons. Ethan was like him, he didn't really have any offensive abilities in his arsenal. His skills were more of defensive and supportive. Iliana could definitely fight, but she hadn't fully recovered emotionally from the past few days. Not wanting to think the worse, Heath managed to haul himself onto his feet. However when he got up, the two figures were out of site completely. Sighing, Heath figured he better figure out where he was. For now he walked into a random direction, hopefully it would lead him to others.

He was making progress when he heard Andy over the intercom. Once she was done, Heath sighed. Well he knew where to go, the problem was where was the arena from here? He kept walking, staying in the open.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ethan chucked at Daniel's comment about him being a pacifist.
"Sure when lives aren't on the line. I couldn't very well live with myself if someone got hurt or worse."
Seeing Veronica acting up, Ethan didn't need Daniel's hint to help her out.
He went to her and placed a hand on her shoulder before using his serenity inducement on her. He watched carefully as Daniel dealt with the vampire again. He almost curse, wishing he could do more, but the best he could was keep Veronica safe. Once the fight was over, Daniel asked if they were okay.
"Dandy, but you need help."
No sooner had he said that did Daniel collapse.
"Oh gees louise," he said before turning to Veronica, "Hey, you feeling better? I need to get Daniel to the infirmary. I am going to get him on this horse here. Why don't you get up on it too? I don't want to leave you alone."
However before he could do anything else, Andy's voice broke out through the intercom. Looks like things were finally over. Ethan sighed in relief.
"Scratch that, we're heading for the arena. Let's get going."
Ethan manage to get Daniel onto the horse by laying him on it. It was the best he could do. He waited for Veronica to get on the horse.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So much was happening at once that Iliana didn't know what to do. She couldn't sit on the ground, dumbfounded as others joined in to face the dragon. She herself wanted to help, but she was completely drained. It was very frustrating, considering she knew she could help given the opportunity. Her emotions were still a mess though, hence why it was still raining. She saw Liam get involved, another person she didn't know, and then Nelly.

Nelly herself saw both Liam and Andy. She saw Sloane too, only for the woman to shout she could fix things and rain off. Fix this? Nelly would have gone after her, but things got a little to chaotic for her liking. She sees Iliana and heads for her. The girl looked like she'd been through a lot.

"Hey you okay? You look like a mess."

Iliana was a bit startled to see Nelly. She was so focused on the battle, she didn't see the redhead approach her. She saw she didn't have a shirt on, and it fact it looked like it was wrapped around her shoulder. She still had a bra on though.

"Tired and my knee hurts. I tried saving Andy and Sloane with my wind ability, but it looks like it didn't work. How are you? I can see you got hurt."

"Yeah, a snake got me. I used up my super speed to get myself and another camper out of danger. I would help the others distract that dragon, but blood loss preventing that."

She wanted to drop actually, but didn't want to with the dragon nearby. Suddenly the dragon vanished before their eyes.

"WTF!! What in the heck just happened?!"

Iliana was just as shocked as the rain vanished. It wasn't long before Andy made her announcement.

"Well at least the arena isn't too far from here."

"We should gather healing supplies though."

Nelly saw Andy go into the infirmary and do the very thing Iliana suggested.

"Andy's already on top of that. Let's go."

"Um, can you help me please? I don't know the state of my knee is right now."

Nelly sighed and helped her up. Iliana hissed as she tried putting weight on it. Nelly ended up helping Iliana to the arena, even though she wasn't in great shape herself. When they did reach the arena, they saw Andy collapsed on the ground.

Iliana gasped as she felt adrenaline kick in and she got away from Nelly as she jumped on one leg to her.

She dropped to the ground to see if she was okay and saw she was awake but crying. She was clearly in worse shape than her and Nelly.

"Andy? Is there anything I can get you? I am not well versed in handling injuries, but I want to help." she said quietly.

Nelly dropped too due to blood loss. She would rest before trying to move again.

Andy answered, only to remind Iliana of Nelly. Iliana turned back to the redhead to see her collapsed on the ground. Mentally cursing her own condition, Iliana dragged herself back over to Nelly just as she saw more campers arrive. It didn't matter to her who showed up, she was just glad that they were still alive. Refocusing on Nelly, she checked her pulse and she had one, much to her relief. She should check her injury, and even though it was still dark out, she could feel that the shirt was damp with blood for Nelly was laying on her stomach.

This was how Heath found his sister. He miraculously found the main hall and from there made it to the arena. His head was still killing him but seeing the condition of some of the other campers upon entering the arena, he got off easily. He was quick to notice the tents too and medical supplies. Soon he spotted his sister and a passed-out Nelly. Relieved, he approached them.

"Lia, how are you?"

Iliana looked up to see Heath as he bent down on the other side of Nelly.

"I hurt my knee, but other than being tired, I am okay. Nelly apparently got bit by a snake and lost some blood. Her shirt is covering the wound. I want to check her injury, but I can't do it on my own. She needs fresh bandages. I wish I had some of my healing ointment."

Keeping his cool, Heath nodded. He knew how to do basic first aid and had read up on what to do in emergencies too, but never really put it into practice. He just hoped Nelly didn't need stitches since he had no knowledge of that.

"Let me get some medical supplies. I'll be right back." he said before getting up.

Returning, he and Iliana worked together to patch Nelly up better, who remained unconscious throughout the whole procedure. Her injury hadn't been too serious, but the bite was deep. It didn't look like she was poisoned from what either could tell since the skin wasn't swollen. It must have been a big snake too since the distance between to the 2 puncture wounds were almost 6 inches apart, at least from what Heath could tell. After finishing up, Heath took Nelly to one of the tents and put her inside of one. The best thing she needed was rest until Cherise could help her. Iliana said she'd make some of her healing ointment to help Nelly as well as anyone else.

"Okay sis, time to help you out. Let's get you seated somewhere. You can tell me how you got hurt so I have a better idea." Heath said before picking his sister up and putting her on one of the bleachers so he could inspect her knee.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ethan acknowledged Veronica's request. He did need to get Daniel help asap and while he did feel guilty leaving Veronica behind, he felt slightly better that someone was sticking with her. Seemed like new people were still showing up. Now he wouldn't wonder about it. As he led the horse to the arena, he thought about recent events, especially tonight. Considering he wasn't the fighting type, he thought he did decently, but what about next time, if there was. Why was he really here? The answer was simple, to help Heath with Iliana. Before tonight's event, it seemed like Iliana was trying to do more things on her own, considering she wanted to train with Nicholas. Did she really need his help anymore? Thought of it left him reeling a bit and he would have pursued that line of thinking if he hadn't come upon the arena just then.
Feeling relieved, he entered the arena to see a good number of campers there, including Heath and Iliana. As much as he wanted to check on them, his first priority was Daniel, who was still out of it. A cursory glance didn't reveal Andy anywhere. Considering Daniel's condition, maybe it was a good thing she wasn't around. Being careful, he managed to get Daniel off of the horse and ease him on the ground as carefully as possible, even though it was a struggle. Then he went about seeing to any injuries he could manage.
