When he was in the sight of Casian, the leader of The Shar, and of the Alpha Company, he would calm down a bit. He wore his uniform, as well as his rapier which was both for show, ceremonial use, and actual combat in a few cases. He avoided getting into actual combat as much as he could though, he was never much of a fighter--and even though he is a Lieutenant, it is definantly lower than he thought he should be.
Elroy stepped quietly across to Casian, tipping his hat to him. As usual, Elroy was dressed his finest.
"Bonjour, Monsieur Casian," He spoke as he tipped his hat to him. "Eeh...Capetan? What es ze meaning of this...unexpected rally of ze companies? Can I be of any personal assistance, Monsieur?"
His English was still a little bit rough, and his French accent was strong. He would sometimes studder, and sometimes throw in a few French words with his English sentances. Whether by accent, or by the way he wanted it to be, that was impossible to tell.

"What's all this about Commander?"the grizzled middleaged man asked.
Casian softly spoke with the man in a voice that others couldn't hear. The chief smirked and looked over the recruits before becoming serious and turning from the company stepping away and removing his coat and pistol while cracking his joints. Casian, meanwhile, turned to the company and spoke. "It seems that some of your fellow company members are eager to see a fight, so our gracious Chief here has agreed to give us a little combat instruction." He said as the Chief came back to stand beside him, much bigger looking now, "any volunteers?"

He would wait for him to get there before he told him bluntly,” try and take me down.” and just stood by awaiting the recruit to make the first move. Casian stood by the edge of a circle he had drawn in the dirt with his foot while the cadet stepped forward, he was just standing their stoic now with no emotion on his face, and he once again resembled the man who had stood upon the stage. He was monitoring the platoons through their auras, a mass of energy that streamed from the cadets in a mass of colors that burned into the sky. It was one of the things Magus could do, read an opposing aura and interpret the power of their enemies. Right now some auras were blunted but thick and others were tall and thin, he noted the sizeable difference between the sergeants and cadets, and then took a comparison between the squad leaders and platoon leaders. Some were similar but the average difference was a hill to a mountain. He didn’t even dare glance at the Chief, having seen his aura time and again he was tired of having to squint his eyes to not be blinded by the bright light when the man got serious, right now it was only about the size of a platoon leaders…
“That kid is in for one hell of a surprise.”

Axelle wandered over to wear Casian was standing and didn't even look to him as she spoke. "Is this really that important? You could have let me fight someone just as easily and an even bigger crowd would have come." She noticed the focus on his face and rolled her eyes again. Personally, she wasn't fond of sensing auras unless it was in a battle.

"Ehh...Capetan." He spoke, standing about 5 feet behind his leader. "With respect, Monsieur, I do not believe that allowing your sister to leave her platoon, and informally approach you, sets ehh..good example for le others? Many get ze wrong idea of informality and order...ehh... considering, ze do not know of le family relationship? Oui?"
Quiet pleased with himself, he stepped back to the side and waited for Casian's reaction. He knew that even if Casian thought he was incorrect, that it would be excuse-able and acceptible for him to have said. Casian knows his fields of study, and why he was commissioned as Lieutenant of the Delta Company. He is over-the-top formal.

But on second thought, Jan realized that didn't make any sense: After all, why would a teacher bother engaging in a formal fight with a student, especially when there were much easier ways of beating up or humiliating said student? That only left the possibility of a self defense training exercise (which would be a nice thing considering how often fights seemed to break out around Capitol Academy), or...
"Gee..." Jan remarked sarcastically, "do they do this every year so that the students understand who's in charge, or are we special?"

"We're te prince and princess of Shar. If someone doesn't know who we are, they should just leave now. And as for suggesting I leave to Casian, you and I can have a little chat afterwards. Maybe teach you your own lesson in ethics, d'accord?" She turned back around to watch the fight, but still spoke to him using the French she had learned in her high school years. "Ferme ton bouche, s'il vous plait."
Axelle watched the boy's initial technique and was instantly pleased. A similar fighting style as hers: no tryiing brute force, but strategic.
[Axelle's french: d'accord = alright? Ferme ton bouche= shut your mouth, please. (the equivalent of shut up if i remember right)]

The Chief waited for the kid to get closer, his arms still crossed as the kid drew two knives and made to use them, decent form and good speed but... “You lack power kid.” He added as he stepped into the attack and grabbed the students right wrist, while his left knee went up to hit the student in the chest, “Pay attention cadets, never half ass a counter, if you’re going to stop an enemies attack put them on the ground before they can continue.” He added the last syllables slightly accented as he made to drive his left forearm through the cadet’s upper body to fling him to the ground while grabbing the dagger in the right hand.

He walked up silently behind Casian, and the french fellow; his name, he could never grasp, catching the end of their conversation. "Ah, well, I find it true to trust Casian. His ways may seem...odd, sometimes, but I'm more than asured that in his messed up little head, he justifies this somehow. And personally, I cannot blame him. I've never personally dueled Axelle one to one, but after watching the matches, I'd much value my pride in both it's physical manifestation of my groin, and in it's literal term." He said, looking over both of them.

Jace turned toward Casian "I get that this is an important lesson, but maybe this should stop while the kid can still remember his own name." commented Jace as he watched the kid try to attack the Chief once more. It seemed he was launching another frontal assault, which considering how the last one went was probably not going to end very well. Jace doubted the Chief would do any permanent damage but if the kid kept getting back up things could get messy.

He tipped his hat to Vasalgo when he approached, and spoke to him. "Bonjour Capetan...Any plans with the Delta Company today? Or are zey just settling down in their dorms for now?" He asked quietly. Not loud enough to draw attention to their conversation, just barely above a whisper.
Quietly, Elroy sat back and watched the fight, until Jace approached and asked Casian if the fight should be stopped. He laughed slightly to himself, wanting to interrupt and say that it's his fualt for stepping up. Although he had better manners than that, and let Casian answer the questions.
