Kylar Blint's Story

Aello turned back down the path, away from the lab. Might aswell make it fun for the search team and put some more distance between us. She glances up and blushes in shock, one of the two from ealier has spotted her. She usually sense others before they see her...she must have really let her gaurd down. What the h***, might as well. She shakes off her nerves and throws a winged arm in the air. "Hello" she says..., "My name is Aello."

Just then she hears some twigs snap behind her. Fury flares up inside her as she turns toward the sound. Its a gaurd, her plume flares up and she spreads her wings out, crouching down-bracing herelf to take flight. I'll kill the fool But then he speaks to her...His voice is kind and different from the doctors. She is entranced for a moment, but only a momemt.

"WHY SHOULD I??? Here I have a propsal for you, Ill pull out some of your hair and make you bleed and you see how fun it is," she hissed back.
This is what i f****** get for trying to make friends Aello has no idea whether the two behind her are still there are not...for their sakes she hopes they ran.

Jared blinked in confusion when one of the subjects called him closer. He approached warily, for Kylar's height wasn't exactly reassuring at this point. In fact, the giant size and evident strength worried Jared about his ability to escape in case of some random rage attack. Jared might be confident in his strength and speed, but against genetically engineered super-powered giants? Ha, fat chance. However, wariness was not the only thing the other made Jared feel. The giant size also sparked a memory. Jared mentally ran over what he knew of him. Subject Kylar Blint, part elephant, extremely strong, and the researchers... had given up putting a collar on him several months ago. So how could his collar not be working? Jared's eyes widened too late as he stepped into Kylar's reach.

The guard has his rifle up and poised to spray the back of the big young man's head. Kylar Blint was big and tough but a burst from an assault rifle at point blank range just might do some damage. Or at least it would have if the guard managed to get a shot off. Before the guard pulled the trigger webbing appeared out of nowhere and stuck to the gun before the weapon was yanked out of the guards grip. The guard looked up in shock just as Shane dropped down from the ceiling and landed on his chest. Pinned beneath the spider hybrid the guard struggled to reach his shock stick. Shane wrapped his hands around the guards head before expertly twisting, cracking his neck and ending his life in a flash. Shane looked up just as two more guards came running in with guns. The spider hybrid leapt into the air and shot out a web line to swing and kick one in the chest sending him slamming into the wall before spinning around to fire two web lines at the other guards ankles. The guard skidded to a stop and looked down at the webs in surprise just before Shane gave them a good yank and sent the guard sailing through the air to land next to his fellow unconscious guard. Shane already had his trademark black suit in a backpack he was wearing but he needed some guns. He grabbed two pistols off the unconscious guards and found that one had a knife on him. After liberating the blade he slit both their throats before concealing the knife and turning to the massive hybrid who had initiated the escape.

"You must be Kylar. I heard you were big but... damn."

Shane said in obvious awe.

Jared's teeth ground together with an audible groan as Kylar's movement jostled his arms. "Hard to think like this. Dunno. Go right? Red. Code red. Escaped. Taken." He allowed his mouth to run on autopilot as he tried to gather his bearings past the pain. Just make him think I'm worse off than I really am. Then I can try to think of a way to take him down... As soon as he thought that, his shoulders sent another spasm of pain into his brain. His words took on language of the more censored variety. Ok. Maybe I am as bad as I sound.

He took a deep breath and cut off his talking, closing his eyes. "You do know-" he began to Kylar, forcing each word out through the pain thumping through him. "You won't exactly be welcomed in 'civilization' even if you can make it there."

Joanne thought for a bit. He does mean something to me. But... I guess..... for the better of the group...

"Are you sure it's alright if you take him? I can see you've hurt your knee."
She began to let go of her very first friend. It was hard. As she did, questions buzzed around her mind like annoying bees, clouding her attention from the world outside.
Should I really let this man carry Skyler? I should, because if I carry him, I might slow everyone down. But what about the man's knee? He seems to have treated it... seems. But.... What if Skyler doesn't consider me as one of his friends? I know we only met 2 minutes before he got hit by the gun fire.... But then what would I feel if I'm not his friend? I've been with him this whole time...But does that count if he's unconscious?
I've never felt this way about someone else.
...
Sooner or later my head will explode with all this.

"Ok, then."
The feline then finished letting go of her canine companion. He lay on the ground, still bleeding, but in an almost stable condition.
She shuffled back for the man to pick him up. "My name is Joanne. What's yours? And I like your tusks, by the way." She smiled back.

Knowing they're all safe from the guards, her eyes sparked back to their original near-black color, and her fur slimmed down in calmness.
She glanced around. The sky is getting darker. Nightfall. Should we camp? Or keep moving?

"He was shot in the gunfire. There are bullet holes all over his body."
Joanne's worried face returned, but her eyes stayed dark in color. But she knows she cannot do anything but to wait for the next move.

She simply stared at the river. Its unusual curve and twist. I've seen this before... but where? She began scanning her memory.
She opened her satchel and dug her hands in, searching for her item. Here! I'm so glad I still have it! This will definitely help us.
With a large rolled up scroll in her furry hands, she simply purrs.

Skyler's dying.
Joanne felt sick in the stomach. He was in a much worse state than the last time she saw him.
"Skyler basically already looks human, so the hospital would have no problem taking him in. But..." She looked at her tail and cat ears." I'm going to need a disguise to take him."
She looked at Eden, eager to kill more than just the fawn.
"If you guys want to hunt humans, there's a bridge over there." She pointed downstream. "If the guards are smart enough, they would try crossing the bridge to search the towns for us. You can kill as much as you want without the citizens seeing you."

Shane was speechless after the kiss. He couldn't help but match Aello's blush as he rubbed the back of his neck in embarressment.

"No, yeah that was... great."

He said at a loss for words. He could feel something welling up inside him but he had to put his feelings aside at least for now while Skylar was still teetering on the edge.

"Hey spider kid I need your help with this wolf man, can you spin some webs to temporarily close his bullet wounds?"

Came Kylar's voice from behind himsnapping him back to reality. He shot a glance back at the downed form of the wolf boy before looking back at Aello.

"I gotta see if I can help but... We'll talk later. Promise."

He said with a warm smile before running over to kneel beside Skylar. He looked up at Kathleen who was already assessing the boys wounds.

"What'dya need me to do Doc?"

Kathleen

Kathleen watched as Shane worked his webs around the wounds, pulling them shut, if only temporarily. She removed her labcoat and started tearing it into strips to help wrap the injuries. I won't be needing it anymore, anyhow... she thought. It was liberating tearing the coat to shreds, she felt that it served a better purpose this way. She pulled bobbypins out of her hair, realeasing the braid so it fell to her natural wavy brown locks, and used them to hold the wraps secure. She tooka second to look herself over. Her hair, which she never let down, now fell in wavy lenghts past her shoulders, her stockings had a few runs in them, and her pink dress was ruined. But she was Ok...better than Ok. She tasted a freedom she herslef hadn't know since she was first brought on for the Harpy Project. She had lived at the Facility in the staff quarters, and rarely traveled to town. She pushed her glasses up on her nose and said,"The biggest town is South from here, but they are looking for you in that direction. We all assumed your primal sides would have kicked in adn you would be tearing citizens apart by now..." she paused, both worried she offended one of them...or spoke too soon, "but there is a small town if we keep going East. The hospital isn't as big but they know me there. They will let me use their tools and maybe I can get him stitched up. I know someone there who knows about the work I do, he won't ask any questions."

She stands and looks around, spotting Jared.
"Oh no!" she spat out as she saw the condtion he was in as well. She knelt next to him and felt fot a pulse...she cradled his face and brushed his cheek, hoping that he would open his eyes.

Aello

"I gotta see if I can help but... We'll talk later. Promise."

Aello watched Shane as he turned to help the others. She felt foolish, and the color still hadn't drained from her face. She wasn't sure what she had done...what it meant to him, what it meant at all. Her stomach fluttered and her heart raced, but she had no explaination for it. She couldn't help them with Skylers injuries, she felt uneasy as she watched.

Shane worked wonders on the wounds, and Kathleen even let her hair down to use the bobby pins to help. They got him wrapped up and she felt relief flow through her, it looked like Skylar wasn't bleeding out anymore.
Then she saw something that shot such a pang of guilt through her, the look on Kathleens face when she saw the gaurd. Aello had forgotten all about the injured human with them...she forgot that Kathleen was human, and she knew Kathleen would soon figure out that the gaurds injuries were inflicted by one of them. Would she still be willing to help after this...? After we tossed a beaten man who is obviously in pain aside like garbage. She wasn't even sure he was alive anymore...

Shane took a deep breath with the hard work out of teh way. Skylar wasn't dying for now so he could relax. He glanced over as Kathleen ran over to the guard that was hurt. Shane hadn't seen what or who had hurt the guard and honestly coldn't care. He'd killed several guards today and one more didn't bother him. Yet something had to be different about this one. If Kathleen was worried maybe he wasn't like the others...maybe. Shane would judge for himself when he woke, if he woke. Shane got to his feet and took a deep breath as he pulled his trench coat off and stuffed it into backpack. Shane took a seat on the grass and watched the commotion as Kathleen tended to the guard.

"If we're gunna take Skylar to town we better get moving. The longer we're stay here the better chance of them finding us."

He paused to look at the unconcious guard.

"He's not gunna last long like that either."

He said, considerably less concerned.

Kathleen

"Right Kathleen said, looking at the two men. Both were so young, and so different, yet both lay clinging to their lives. She turned to the others.
"We need to get a move on, there is a path through these woods leading to the town," She turned to big strong looking one,"Will you please help me carry them? I need Aello to carry me," pointing down to her feet. Her heels had fallen off on the way and her feel were covered in mud and dirt. The only thing "protecting" them were her stockings.
"I know the gaurd doesn't mean anything to you," she said looking at all of them, "But he was a friend. Please, will you atleast carry him to the town. We can leave him there," she said looking over at Jared, "But I won't leave him out here to die."
Her tone of voice said "thats final" but her eyes spoke truly, they begged him for help.

Shane glanced at the others who all seemed to be remaining silent atleast for the moment. With a half sigh he got to his feet and spoke up.

"I'll give him a lift Doc."

Shane was somewhat surprised at himself for volunteering. While unlike many of the other subjects he didn't like to see things as us and them, humans and non humans. Shane knew he was different but he liked to think there was still some part of him that was human. That was normal. That he retained some measure of who he would have been had the program not gotten a hold of him. He held onto hope that maybe, just maybe, he could have a normal life when this was all over. Beyond that if anyone but Kathleen had asked he would have turned them down and let him die. In the short time he had been around the good doctor he had seen a glimpse of what Aello saw in the woman. A tenacious protector, a tender care giver, a loyal friend. He'd at least give her the benefit of the doubt. If she said the guy was alright then he was alright, but he would keep an eye on him. One wrong move, one glimpse that he'd turn on them and Shane would drop in in a second.

Aello

She was touched by Shane's kindness. He was so trusting of her, of Kathleen, as if they had known eachother all their lives, though they only met a short while ago. He had already done so much, but his generosity overflowed like rain filling a saucer. She began to think about the future for the first time in her life. She wondered if the three of them could be happy together someday, but she pushed the though out of her mind. There are bigger thigns to worry about right now.

She turned to the group and asked, "Who's comin?"

Kathleen

...I can take you to doctor lady I think it would be easier for me to carry you than to have a bird carry you."

Kathleen approached the boy, he looked very strong. She thought to herself... yesterday I was filing papers, today I'm being carried arounf my men half my age...Oh how unpredictable lifes turns can be.. She chuckles to herself. Though she was a little apprehensive to climb aboard the "arm socket poppin' express" she felt she could trust him not to harm her. She accepted him help as he hoasted her up. She braced herself with her hands and balanced herself, crossing her legs in front of her she leaned over a bit to ask the boy, "Is this ok? I'm not too heavy am I?"
She thought back and didn't remember ever being introduced to the boy, "I don't think we have been properly introduced," she extended her small hand to himfron his shoulder, "My name is Kathleen, what can I call you?"

Kathleen noticed the cat girl approach her. She was a cute little thing, and she was so sweet when she thanked her. When she returned she ha given her a smile. She realized that there were a lot of them she didn't know yet so she said to the group waving from her shoulder throne. "Hello, you can call me Kathleen," she lost her balance a bit and blushed. "Im sorry I don't know all of your names yet," she smiled to the Kylar and the ohters below, "but I would love to get to know you better along the way. Won't you come with us?"

Aello

"Hiya"
Eden joined the pair exuberantly, and greeted Shane, but he seemed to be off in another world.
"Don't mind him," she said, reaching out to touch the tip of his nose with a long wing feather hoping to break him from his daze, "Big hero has a lot on his mind," she gigled, "Once you get his attention he is a pretty nice guy."

The sound of Kylar's stomach startled Kathleen, "Are we almost to the town I am really hungry." he has asked her.
She looked at the boy and remembered something mentioned back at the labs. He was a vegitarian. She looks over at him, "Do you like apples?"
She pointed to their right, "Look over there," she remember stopping here everytime she came into town. It was an apple tree filled with Red Delicious Apples.
"We are close to town, and Doc will have food down at the lab but those are absolutly delicious," she smiled at him.

"Ugh God damn I feel like crap" Skyler thought as he slowly opened his eyes, although fast healing is a natural trait of werebeasts, when Skyler was shot they made sure to embed the bullets with a poison to counteract the natural regeneration his body had. Where ever Skyler was he knew it was a forbidden location, for the overall scent was different from the grounds of the facility, Skyler wondered if he was being thrown out of the facility to be left for dead, or if they took him away to finish him off. Skyler attempting to stand realizes that he's very high from off the ground glancing at the feet and body of the young hybrid carrying him, reacting only naturally he swings his claws into the large hybrids chest springing off of his shoulder weakly landing upon the ground.

Stumbling backward trying to get a grasp of his surroundings Skyler readies himself for a fight, looking up to the tall and stocky hybrid "Who the hell are you" Skyler yelled clenching his fists dashing forward only to fall to his knees. Feeling weak and helpless Skyler slowly gains his footing again, preparing himself in the same fashion as before.

Kathleen

"You are more than welcome," she said to Kylar, he smelled like the sweet apples, "We are almost there."
Just then the boy in Skylars arms woke, taking a slash at Kylars chest. She called out in surprise as he just barely missed her leg.

Skyler was shocked as Joanne ran towards him embracing Skyler from the side "Joanne..?" , A feeling of relaxsation overran Skylers primal thoughts as he came to his sences while in Joanne's arms. He felt weird as if someone else actually cared for him, while most of his time in the facility Skyler was left to himself alone and unwanted growing up in the facility rased to become a monster. But now someone else cared for him besides his mother, Joanne was this new person and Skyler felt like he mattered to another living being, wrapping his arms around her smiling "Why hello their, ya missed me" Skyler attempting to act calm and sarcastic as before while in pain. Looking up to Kathleen, Skyler spoke "My name is Skyler Terra Carabalo, if you will tell me where we are going I'll be much more calm", sniffing the air catching another familiar scent.

Eden Skyler thought, he was surrounded by familiar faces along with ones he's never seen before. A new group of friends he thought again, never having anything close to a friend before Skyler was amazed, why would they even care enough to drag him all the way out here to bring him to a Hospital. He felt welcomed and well wanted someone in this group cared enough about his life, a feeling like no other for the first time Skyler felt happiness
