Introduction
Set in the medieval land of Gratidia with cascading waterfalls, towering mountains, and fields and fields of tropical flowers as far as the eyes can see. Gratidia seems like the ideal place, an Eden if you will. Unfortunately, like most things, everything is not as it seems, and danger lurks around every corner. New and not so friendly creatures called humans, have began showing up in Gratidia, just along the border. How far will the Natives go to defend their turf? Nobody knows. But, what they do know is that they don't have much time before the creatures begin invading the land.
Natives include faeries, nymphs, elves, witches, and mermaids.
FAERIES
Faeries are small, standing only about 3-4 inches tall, and weighing no more then a few ounces. They have wings and dress in special clothing designed by the elves.
Faeries are kind and will not try to harm you, and will offer assistance if you ask.
All faeries have a special, elemental based power.
Land-Radella, a small, majestic plot of land shaded by the 'mother tree' their life-source. Flowers, and toad stools cover the ground, while small creatures flit around and birds soar.
NYMPHS
Nymphs are also small and can range from a few inches tall to 4 feet in height. They age irregularly i.e. a one year old nymph is like an 8 year old child. They wear whatever nature has granted them, whether that be a few leaves, or a pelt, or nothing at all.
Nymphs are cunning, and cruel, it would be wise to stay away from them.
Nymphs are not born to parents, but are born to either a stream, river, tree, flower, or the sunshine itself, thus their behavior depends on the kind of object they were born to. I.E. a nymph born to a rose will be lustful, and try to persuade you to sleep with them rather then do what you're doing.
Land-Avalon, a dusky place where mist floats along the ground seemingly smothering all those who enter, and small, glowing eyes peek out from the blackness.
ELVES
Elves are tall, and lean, and most are very agile. They also age irregularly, as they are immortal. They wear light tunics, and leggins with moccasins.
Elves are distinguished and refined. They may or may not help you depending on your situation.
Land-Alerus a majestic city, surrounded by huge, white marble walls, trimmed in gold. Their very streets are lined in jewels and speckled in silver. The Elvish is very much like that of a human kingdom, but perfected to the highest degree.
WITCHES
Witches are hit or miss. They are either unnaturally beautiful, or hideously disgusting.
Again..you either find unbearably nice witches, or disgustingly evil.
Land-A nasty area, equivalent to today's slums, in the back forests of Alerus called 'The Troves'. Witches are quite a nuisance to the elves.
MERMAIDS
All mermaids are beautiful, and can take either a walking form or a swimming form, but they cannot travel very far from the water.
Mermaids are like nymphs, cunning, and cruel, stay away from them.
Land-Morghosia, a large lake, surrounded by a small patchworks of trees. Fog that seems to stretch a million miles blankets this area, warning those who enter of the dangers within.

"Don't worry, I'm going to take care of you," Cadhla said. She then gently put her hand over the other to prevent predators from seeing the fairy. She then took off running back to her home. No one had gotten in her way the whole way there. She opened the door and walked inside. Her house was lit by a fire, setting a warm atmosphere around the small one room building. Dried herbs hung from all the way around the ceiling and canned fruit on the shelves. A cauldron of water was on the fireplace boiling.
Cadhla set the fairy down on a shelf by her mortar and pestle. She took her hair out of its braid, letting it fall almost to floor.
"I'll be back, just need to get some clothes off the line," she said. She walked over to the door and turned around as if she forgot something and said, "Oh and the mantle above the fire if a bed for you, you can also use anything you find to decorate with," she walked outside yelling back, "Make yourself at home!"

Meanwhile back at the pond...
A noise could be heard above the surface it sounded like talking and arguing at the same time if you listened hard enough you could hear the voices talking. One of them a deep man's voice and another one a woman's. "No i distinctly remember the pulse saying their home is over here are you saying that the pulse was wrong love?" Said the man's voice then the woman said. "No i am not i just believe that it was off more in this direction."

April left the stone slab and went over to the bed she had made the day before. She was about to try adding more leaves and things to it when she heard voices above her. It didn't sound like anyone that she recongized, however the bickering that she heard did seem fimilar. It sounded like the kind of conversation that Avidin had said that he parents would have. April swam up to the surface to see who it was. She saw a merman and a mermaid and both of them looked a little like Avidin. They must be his parents.
"You must be Avidin's parents. Am I right?" she asked.

Meanwhile back in the forest. (See what i did there?)
Avidin was watching the humans in their camp he had been flooding the area with fog for a few minutes the magic would also really help him as long as he was crouching down in the fog he would be invisible he crept forward with the fog and waited watching the camp.

"No, actually I'm his mate, April." She swam back a bit to give them room to jump into the pond. She had a feeling that this meeting might end up being slightly on the akward side now that Avidin was out hunting. "Please come in. Avidin will be back soon." April was trying to think of the best possible way to not make Avidin's parents hate her. She could just tell by the look on his mother's face that that was going to prove to be a difficult task.

"How do you win so much, Gilfried", says Hanzel in a frustrated tone, he didn't like being beaten, but he could handle it; besides, poker wasn't his best game, despite how much he liked to play.
"It's your face, Hanz, you can't expect to be good at poker with a face as revealin' as yours, you can't keep from bitin' that bottom lip whenever you get a bad hand. You gotta keep a poker face, like me; I always wear a grin when I play poker, no matter when I'm losin' or winnin'." Gilfried grins a bit wider.
Hanzel looks at him with dull disbelief, seeing his grin alter just slightly. "You always wear a poker face, then. Maybe you've been hiding more from me than just your cards..." Hanzel leans in looking closely at Gilfried, then leans back excited, "Another hand?"
"Well, Itch, we could pretend to."
"Pretend?", Hanzel asked, confused as to what he meant.
Gilfried passes out cards, "You hear anything, Itch?"
Hanzel listens, things were very silent in the forest. "No, I don't."
"Exactly." Gilfried mumbles, grinning through his cigarette, but you could tell he was tense or at least very focused on directing his attention to something else. "No owls hooting, no leaves rustling, no cheeky little laughs that freak me the fuck out", Gilfried takes out his cigarette and extinguishes it, looking at his cards as if nothing was happening, "and you know what that means."
Hanzel nodded, slowly turning his head to his cards, looking casual so as not to alert the predator of their awareness of it. "Something freaked the fuck out of the laughing things." He had no idea what they were, but there had been rustles of bushes and little laughs that sent chills up your spine all night.
"Yup, i got my gun at the ready." He snapped his fingers and motioned to one of the four men besides Horris, who was standing just a few feet off and never left Hanzel's side unless Hanzel told him to. He had heard the conversation but kept doing what he was doing for the past half hour--scanning the campsite calmly. Gilfried made a series of hand signs and the men started to fan out around the fog, looking over the ground with rifles at the ready.
Hanzel shifted his eyes around, Gilfried had returned to playing mock cards with Hanzel; both were laying down random cards at random intervals, and going on making idle chit-chat. Besides the orders to the men, no one looking from a distance would have noticed a thing different about what they were doing apart from what they had been doing for a good hour.

Back at the pond....
"No, actually I'm his mate, April."
At that avidin's dad roared with laughter at that. "You're telling me my boy got a beautful catch like you?" He started to laugh so hard that tears started to form. "That is rich..." He looked at her again. "wait... your serious?" He laughed again. "So your his mate?" He leaned back to avidins mom. "The boy has skill." He then dived down into the pond. "Very nice." He said.

The man closest to Avidin yelps and stumbles away, tripping and disapearing in the fog on the ground, Hanzel stands up immediately scanning the area when he hears the voice and Horris steps closer to him, his large rifle at the ready. Gilfried laughs and grabs two pistols from his belt and puts one foot on the stump in front of him, looking around with his sharp eyes where the man disapeared. "We've got a live one!" he says, and the other three men look at where the man fell.
That voice sounded human... but not quite it... Land dwellers? Must be some hermit trying to play a prank. Hanzel grins reaching into his bag and pulling out a cool metal ball with a white marking on it. "Your territory? This territory is sanctioned for exploration. Now, I might take you more seriously if you stop the scare act and show yourself." He doesn't even wait for a reply, "No? Well allow me to cast a little light on the situation your in." He chuckles and tosses the orb into the mist, and it lands about 13 feet from Avidin; Three seconds after the orb hits the ground all of Hanzel's men and Hanzel himself sheild their eyes, and a bright light bursts from the exploding flash bomb along with a gust of wind that disperses the fog from a 20 foot radius.

Back at the pond....
Avidins father laughed when april offered to help with the bags avidins mother had already told avidins fathers other maids to do so without question they trickled back and forth putting down bags and going back avidins father went up to april and whispered in her ear. "We will both be fine if we just stay out of her way." he said with a joking voice.

Horris jumped back at the sight of the behemoth, "Wh-what is that thing!" he thinks, shaking at the sight of the fish-like humanoid before him. He was brought out of his state of fear as the sound of lifting and cocking guns sounded while all the men aimed their guns at Avidin. Hanzel sees Horris and gilfried step a few inches in front of him, both of them had their weapons aimed at the thing. Gilfried glances at Horris, "I thought you said you were an only child, Horris!". Horris glares back at him for a split second but returns his gaze back at the creature. "Yah, yah, I guess this isn't the best time" Gilfried continues.
Hanzel clears his throat, putting on a welcoming smile and looks up at the creature, slowly walking between his two best guards, and just a foot behind them. "Gilfried", Hanzel whispers without moving his lips too much, "keep a tranquilizer at the ready in one of your guns just in case, Horris you keep your gun filled with live rounds if this situation gets out of hand." Horris slowly raises his hand, standing at only 5' 5" himself, and looks at the creature in the eye as he waves. "There is no reason for deadly confrontation, but I assure you if you try to make it into one you will not survive, you brought a pitchfork to a gunfight." Hanzel looks over Avidin's armour. "Your armour... It is unique, no? Interesting, but I doubt it can stop bullets, especially the calliber round that my guard Horris uses. I will not back down and our weapons will reach you before you reach us; I have never seen another creature who could talk my language before and I don't want you to get the wrong impression of me if you have not seen my kind before; so yes, let us keep this peaceful." Hanzel smiles a bright smile, pushing his glasses up on his nose as his brown hair blows in the forest wind.
"First question; who and what are you?" Hanzel says cooly, and Gilfried, Horris, and the rest of the guards grip their guns ready for anything.

Hanzel twitched a bit when he heard the word 'merman'. So they did exsist, of course he had heard of them but never had he imagined them being real. He ignored the merman's question, he knew better then to let another gain control of the situation, and said, "Well, I want to start this off civily, and because you introduced yourself as Avidin is it alright that I refer to you as such? Or would that be too informal? Can't be more informal than 'merman' now can it?". Hanzel sat back onto the stump and kicked his feet casually, alternating legs. "Now, Avidin, my name is Hanzel Icheru, leader of research and exploration efforts on part of my people. I have a few things to say about your speech before we continue;", Hanzel tilts his head to the other shoulder. "You said your armour is more than enough to deflect our weapondry? I simply meant to ask you not to underestimate us, I did not mean to insult you, yet you underestimate me. Why? Is it because of my size, or is it simply because you have not fought people like us before? Either way if we both underestimate each other a conflict will arise, and I would like to avoid that if possible."
Hanzel chuckles and brushes his hair out of his eyes, and was about to ask if he was there just to threaten them when he heard Gilfried speak; "Merman? Well aren't we lucky, if you were a mermaid we might have been in trouble there, I didn't bring earplugs." Gilfried glares menacingly at Avidin and crosses his arms, examining joints in the armour, then looking around the forest mockingly. "Well, merman, this doesn't look like a body of water to me, this here is Avalon, right? I always thought you merpeople were partial to Morghosia." He looked sideways at Avidin slyly. "What are you doing so far from home 'protector of this forest'?"
Hanzel looked at Gilfried with shock, he had no idea that Gilfried knew about these creatures, did he know about their existance as well? He would ask him that later, and looked back to Avidin with a smile that you wear when you catch someone bluffing, and he whispers to Gilfried; "You didn't tell me you knew these things existed."

Avidin smiled at that and pulled something out of his bag it was a bunch of strings but at the end of them where a bunch of human skulls and tied to them was a part of a gun he threw the tangled mess at Gilfried. "Reckognize those? He said Sorry i'm usually a pretty laid back Merman but they caught me on a bad day and they where in my territory chasing after a mermaid for... questionable reasons if you catch my drift. He sighed and said. "You have to understand humans that there are reasons for me coming here and threating you for one i preseved you as a threat and your past with my people didn't help ether. you intruded on my territory in fact i'm suprised my traps didn't get any of you: Your camp is on the edge of a bunch of traps i have laid out. And on top of that my mate views you as a food source. He then leaned against a tree and spoke to Gilfried. Your confidence might be the death of you human for your distain for my kind is notable because you have fought the bottem feeder mermen that seem to be previlent in this area who cannot catch a a single fish to feed their family at night if you had even a small knowlegde of merpeople clans then you would know exactly what you are dealing with. He then looked up at the sky. I am not underestimating you humans I know exactly what you are capable of which is inexpiriance with the natives here and underestimating what we are capable of. You strut in here believeing that you already own the place and i hate to be the one to break this to you: But you are going to find that wrong my friends.

She gave the humans one enticing look for good measure, but continued to approach Avidin. Though she did not know many words it didn't matter, for her point and emotions came across in the way she looked and walked. She was angry, and all creatures knew it was not a wise idea to upset a nymph.

Avidin looked down at her. "A nymph... being polite must not be her strong suit" He thought to himself he then spoke to her. "Oh well if you recall i said this part of the woods...But if you don't mind we where kind of having a conversation here." Avidin generally liked nymphs but he found they got upset over the the simplist things one time he had a friendly conversation once with one of them and had said. "I'll see you later." when he left which in the nymph's mind ment he would see it again a specific time and place when he didn't show it droped a herb into his pond that made it smell like rotten onions of a month.

Avidin's dad laughed. "I like this girl!" But he then took on a serious tone. "I can't let you go out there alone i am coming too." he then went over to one of the bags and pulled out armor just like avidins except a heck of a lot more thicker he then picked up his dual trident and said "Lets go."

Allison is just not posting >.< I really was thinking horris was going to die but he didn't get killed, so I used that to my advantage. Now that hes a main character he's going to be harder to kill. Craaaaaaap. >.< I like Hanzel and Gilfried the best. I'm probably going to make Horris' posts shorter as soon as Hanzel gets to talk with Pickerella and Lillianna :/
