"Don't worry about them."
Hanzel suddenly felt safe... his tears stopped, the cooing sound of Lillianna reaching his ears. He looked at her, and put his gun away. He bit his lip, gripping the nymphs arm not to hurt her but because he needed support himself. His green eyes locked on hers, through his glasses they seemed dull, but when he removed his glasses to wipe his tears they shined with a young brilliance. He put his glasses back on, pushing them up the bridge of his nose, his soft hand trembling on her wrist and them realizing as his young body let itself start to be pulled away, he stumbled at first but the ran with the nymph. Suddenly he halted, and whispered, "wait! I can't let them die this way and serve as food for those beasts!" Hanzel chuckles with the mania that comes when you can't take much more, and just say 'fuck it'. He pulls out a red orb, and clicks a button on it, and a ticking sound starts. Lillianna catches the words 'WARNING: INCENDIARY' on the orb before Hanzel clutches it and laughs, tears once again streaming down his face. "EVERYTHING BURNS!" He hurls the orb back at the clearing, watching it go and then solemnly letting the nymph pull him away to a place where he feels he may finally be safe.
In the clearing the orb crashes through the tangle of leaves and branches, landing about 15 feet from Avidin and 10 feet from his father, the ticking sound starts to speed up.
Hanzel runs with the nymph and mutters to himself, "For Mistress Progress, and all the gifts she bestows upon us..." he pauses then adds, "The sacrifices are many...". He looks to the nymph, his eyes shining with gratitude and his light brown hair falling in front of some of his smooth features, and shading his cheeks, which are read and stained with tears.
"Thank you," he says smiling a warm sweet smile, "Thank you so much for what you have done..."

April spots the red orb that landed on the ground near Avidin. She could hear it ticking, it obviously wasn't safe. She stopped singing and ran over to Avidin, "AVIDIN! MOVE!" She pushed him further away from the orb before picking it up, hoping that it wouldn't hurt her, and then she tossed it back in the general direction that it seemed to have come from. April then looked back at Avidin, "We need to leave. I'll lead the food into the lake." She stood up and continued to sing starting to move closer to the lake, keeping her eyes on Avidin and his father, ready to run back and drag Avidin to safety.

A second after the bomb is thrown back towards the woods, the timer goes off, and the bomb explodes in a whirl of fire. April succeeded in getting it about 20 feet in the air away from them all, but the flames almost hit them all, they burn away parts of the trees, and leave scorched earth everywhere, the heat burns the viewers only slightly, but the shock-wave knocks them over.
Hanzel looks up, hearing the explosion, and looks at the flames as he follows the nymph; the light from the fire shines on his face and reflects in his eyes.
Good-bye, Fish Fry. He suddenly hangs his head and falls to the ground, gagging as it hits him that both of his guards are dead along with the rest of his men. He looks forward, pantingGoodbye Gilfried... Goodbye Horris
Back at the camp, Horris looks up from the ground. Had he fallen? He looks around at the merman, the larger merman, and the mermaid... He looked at Gilfried's body and remembered what had happened. But that will get Cohr involved..., Horris slams his fist on his leg and curses, continuing to run. Too bad... those creatures sealed their fate... even if I wouldn't wish The Colonel on anyone...

The blast from the explosion had knocked April over. She lefted her head up and looked around she could see a several of the humans dead bodies laying on the ground. She could also see Avidin and his father, but luckly they were both looked as if they were breathing. April let her head relax againist the ground, now too tired to keep it up. All of her energy had now been drained from her body leaving her unable to move. Hopefully Avidin's father would be able to help Avidin and her make it back to the pond.
As she lay there waiting for her love and his father to get up she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdoman. The pain quickly became stronger until she couldn't contain her screams. This couldn't have been a good sign. What had she been thinking risking her unborn child or children's lives fighting againist those horrible creatures. Then again what would she have done if she had lost Avidin? Would he have been able to get rid of the orb in time?

Avidin dad got up and cracked his neck saying to himself. "Havn't felt like that since the whale hunt." He looked around and saw avidin and april on the ground and laughed to himself. "20 years raising this kid and i'm still pulling him out of scrapes." he went over then threw avidin and april over each on his sholders then started to make his way back to the pond.

Even though April was in exterme pain still she manged the let a fews of thanks escape her lips as well as, "The food..." It may seem silly that at a time like this one of April's first thoughts when she was picked up was about how Avidin's father forgot to take at least one of the dead humans back with them. She was however starving and wouldn't be able to move until she had eaten something and after how much those humans had angered her she wouldn't mind eaten one or two of them.

Avidin's dad laughed at what she said. "Thats what you kids where worried about?" He shakes his head. "We already brought food with us you'll be fine in no time... I swear the one thing about avidin is he always worries," he kept walking until they reached the pond he then slid them in letting avidin's mom and the other maids grab them and lay them down on the stone table.

Horris halted when he heard the wailing of the mermaid. But you have to understand I am going to be a father soon and I have to make this place safe. Horris looked back and saw her in the distance on the ground. "Damn it... Gilfried god-damn it...", he cursed and despite his huge size he very stealthilly approached the edge of the clearing. He saw the mermaid still on the ground and knew she couldn't sing again, so he was about to go out and help her while the others were down. He froze, however, when he saw the bigger merman get up and throw the other merman over his shoulder along with the mermaid, and winced when he heard the mermaid yelp as she was picked up and looked at the Avidin on the other shoulder, "Good job, Podeidon', he thought, 'You just got yourself infected by the pollen, and maybe even the girl as well, although she may be safe...' He sighed, 'Anyway there goes that oppurtunitywas about to head back again when he heard the mermaid say something.

The fire had scorched all but two and Gilfried's was among those burned; but the two remaining had still given their lives dutifully. He took aim for the mermaid, "Come on, sweety", he whispered to himself, "Come on just try to eat them". Suddenly he paused once more, thinking of Hanzel and his way of looking at both sides. 'Gilfried shot first... but, that merman tempted him, and I won't let them eat my men!... He's going to be a father... Jesus... Gilfried swore to himself under his breath and waited until the larger merman turned around so that only the mermaid and the weakened merman could see him over the shoulder, and then he burst out with his gun raised and aimed at April's head.
"Don't move, merman! Don't you take one step and don't even try to turn around!" He then looked at April May directly, "And don't you even speak! I know your tricks and if you so much as utter a sound I will blow your head off! Now I am here to help but I can't take chances and I will shoot if you fucking move a muscle! I am here to help the girl with the pain because I don't want any children future or present involved in this fight we had today!"

(ooc: well I had orginally posted but then I saw God's post. I'm not really sure which way to go with this post since the two conflict... I'll post both and you two can decide which situation they're in.)

April clinched her teeth fighting back againist the pain, "That's a... waste," she managed to say. "As soon as I can move I'm getting it." Now she was taking deep breathes to reduce the pain. "Avidin worked so hard." She then moved her head to try and show that she was fine, "I can maybe find some herbs as well, for Avidin." She was able to turn her head enough to see that he wasn't looking so good. Surely she could with stand this pain long enough to find something to help him. She knew that his mother and her maids were there helping them, but April still couldn't stand it.

There was no problem with April not moving, she couldn't anyways. Still this human holding that dangerous metal thing to her head wasn't making her feel any better. He wanted to help her and yet he was threatening her at the time. She clenched her teeth holding back words that she'd most likely regret, but still if he did anything else to anger her she gather whatever strenghth she had to attack. Meanwhile April could hear May's voice in her head, "Trust him."
"Shut up May," she thought back.
"Don't be hostile towards him, leave these humans alone."

May now smiled sweetly at the man that claimed he could help, but the pain was difficult to bare and not being able to make a sound made it harder. He saw the mermaid's face change and soften, and tears roll down her cheeks, 'What just happened to her?' He wondered as he pulled out a small bottle with a pin in it. "Listen... the only reason I am telling you not to speak is because I don't know how your songs start... and I would continue but that would just widen the time window for this to turn into a conflict". He looks her in the eye, still holding the gun at her face with his right hand, the finger on the trigger, and pulling out the morphine bottle with his left. "I swear I am here to help you, but this may pinch a bit just at first, you can yelp if you want after that, but I swear this will make you feel better". He pushes the needle of the small morphine bottle into the back of her abdomen, the morphine flowing through her system and slowly making her feel less and less pain, and even a bit euphoric since the pain had dulled slightly.
Horris then stepped back quickly, holding the gun at the back of the large merman's head and alternating it between their and the heads of the two on his shoulder's. "Now... I still don't want you moving yet... what is your name? Are you the father of Avidin?"

May felt the needle pinch her, she almost screamed but since he had injected it so close the the orgin of the pain it started taking effect quickly she didn't. She was finally able to relax now that the pain wasn't so bad. Even though she wasn't supose to say anything she still whispered, "Thank you," just loud enough for him to hear. She wanted to say more was was afraid that he'd hurt one of them.

Avidin's dad turned to the human who claimed he could help. His boys mate seemed to believe him and she looked better already he turned to the man setting her and avidin down and said. "Yes i am warlord Carmoic clan leader of the nori'kor you seem willing to help us young one (Don't be offended by that he views everyone as young he is around 500 years old himself he is special.) what is your name?" He said extending his hand.

May looked over at Avidin, she wanted to move closer to be with him and try to help him. Of course she was still so hungry that it was still hard to move. She then looked over at the man and could see in his eyes that he didn't want to her hurt her. "I'm sorry, miss, but I cannot afford any chances; I want to help but I don't want to become fish-food." she heard him say.
He hadn't hurt her the last time she spoke so she decided to try her luck again. "I do not eat your kind. April does, but I will not let her hurt you. Please help them. If you do I can promise you your safety." She decided not to say anymore, just in case he decided that she was still dangerous.

This wasn't going to be the easiest thing to explain, but she had to try. "I am May. April is the other mermaid that shares this body with me, she is the dominate one. However due to the fact that we both use this body we are both Avidin's mate. April currently is extermely upset with what your friends did to Avidin and she has a bit of a temper. Due to this I convinced her to switch with me." She paused for a moment to continue to think, chosing her words before she spoke them. "So you see I do not eat your kind, but April will if she takes over this body. However you can change her mind by helping Avidin and Carmoic. They are extermely important to her and to me. If you help them she has agreed not to eat you or your friends." She paused agian. "April would also like you to understand that humans aren't part of her main diet. They are a delicacy to most mermaids, something extermely rare in the forest. Mermaids do not go out of their way to hunt them and only take the ones that take their bait."
She now took a deep breath, hoping that she had explained well enough. She finished by saying, "Please, do not hurt us." She looked at Avidin and saw him suffering and then back and Horris, "Avidin was only doing what at the time seemed to be the best thing for his family. April and I are with child and he just wants that child to grow up strong in a safe place and he knew that I'm hungry so he wanted to feed me. Surely you have a familym Horris. One that you'd do anything for, you must understand how he feels."

"As for April, if she could switch out and eat me, I think I will keep my gun near me now." She then saw him put the gun by his side and that seemed to make her feel better.
"I understand and I wouldn't expect any less. However as you may have noticed I can't move, which means this body can't either so we aren't too much of a threat to you anyways without any water around. Of course if April does somehow come out and attack, please shot her." At that moment she could feel April mentally slap her, but she ignored it. "I wouldn't wish to share a body with someone that would hurt another being that has been so kind to me."

When Horris lefted her up she winced a little, but was she was fine. "Yes, I'm okay." Then looking at Horris she asked, "This was your home though right? I'd think you'd have food with you." She really did think that if she could walk it'd be better since then Horris could carry Avidin and it seemed that Cramoic could still walk just fine. She looked over at Avidin and then back at Horris, what about Avidin? Won't Cramoic soon feel like him and be unable to carry him?" She didn't want to leave anyone behind.

Cramoic laughed. "It will take more then this to knock me down i've had much worse than this." He bent over and picked avidin up. "Well we arn't getting anywhere standing here we are already pretty close to the pond so lets go." He started to jog in the direction of the pond.

May had listened to him carefully. When he mentioned all of those men having family she could feel a pain in her heart, all of those women and children now without the man that took care of them. She didn't like the thought of losing Avidin or her unborn children.

"I don't know anything about the skulls you are talking about, but I am sorry is they were human like you and I'm sorry about your friends. From the sound of it it seems that one may still be alive.
