Reyna Violetta Lillian King the Third

{☛ ⓃⒾⒸⓀⓃⒶⓂⒺⓈ ☚}
Rey || The most common name she goes by, most know her as Rey.

Violet || A shortened version of her middle name her mother used to warn her of oncoming punishment.

Lily || Another term of endearment, this one used by her betrothed who passed.

Miss Destruction || Rey has a tendency to um... Destroy.

{☛ ⒶⒼⒺ ☚}

She swings both ways

{☛ ⒻⒶⒸⒺ ⒸⓁⒶⒾⓂ ☚}
Tamamo No Mae|| Fate Extra CCC

Image{☛ ⒽⒺⒾⒼⒽⓉ ☚}
In the tales she seems tall, however in the real world, Reyna is pretty short. She stopped growing after her lung transplant.

{☛ ⓌⒺⒾⒼⒽⓉ ☚}
Always underestimate a women's age and weight.

{☛ ⒽⒶⒾⓇ ⒸⓄⓁⓄⓇ ☚}
A pink that's deeper than the cherry blossoms that grew before the world collapsed.

{☛ ⒺⓎⒺ ⒸⓄⓁⓄⓇ ☚}
A gold that twinkles with the light of the sun.

{☛ ⒷⓄⒹⓎ ⓂⒶⓇⓀⒾⓃⒼⓈ ☚}
There are several ways to tell Reyna is not human, one of the infected, the markings are red on her chest and circle around her neck.

{☛ ⒼⒺⓃⒺⓇⒶⓁ ⒶⓅⓅⒺⒶⓇⒶⓃⒸⒺ☚ }[/center]
A sleek dessert fox, Reyna has large red ears and a fluffy red tail with tufts of fur decorating both. Her body is voluptuous in every sense of the word. Skinny with curves in all of the right places, Reyna almost appears to have the perfect body figure aside from what she lovingly refers to as her "tiger stripes" on her derriere. Normally, Reyna wears a bell on a collar around her neck. Her clothing are a bit revealing, but they are suited for living in the dessert. Normally tying up her hair is a large red bow. Despite what you may think, Reyna has normal, human hands and feet. Her teeth are sharp like knives and nails sharp.

☛ ⓁⒾⓀⒺⓈ
❥ Interaction || It's a very lonely life living in a desert oasis where no one comes to visit. She has made friends with inanimate objects and a stuffed cat she protects like her own young.
❥ Ear Scritches || Oh yes, those are the best kind of scritches.
❥ Praise || Part animal, she loves being praised and told that she's good.
❥ Food || Living in a desert, food is very hard to come by. She has managed to plant a little garden, but hasn't eaten a good meal in years.

☛ ⒹⒾⓈⓁⒾⓀⒺⓈ
⌦ Liars || Lies are like broken promises and those are the worst. She unfortunately lives in a world where promises hardly mean anything. It is survival of the fittest and the weak are left to die.
⌦ Fragility of Life || In these times, there is hardly anyone who hasn't lost somebody. Reyna lost everything; her home, her family, her betrothed.
⌦ Thirst || Reyna can recall traveling through the desert for what felt like an eternity, mouth parched, throat dry. Finally, when she came across an oasis, there was water. She remembers laying in the cold pool, drinking to her hearts content and never wanting to feel that thirsty again.

ⓆⓊⒾⓇⓀⓈ
Bite || It's her defense really, she has no weapons and so, if Reyna doesn't like you or is attacking, she'll normally use her teeth like a real fox.
Bell || There is a collar around her neck with a little bell on it. This goes back to a promise made to her by one of her master's. He made Reyna wear a collar with a bell around her neck so that he'd be able to find her if she hid.
Cuddles || Reyna is very affectionate and so she likes being cuddled and snuggling with someone at night.

ⓌⒺⒶⓀⓃⒺⓈⓈⒺⓈ
Emotions || It is very obvious that Reyna is off. Driven crazy from isolation and loss, she is not... Normal.
Stuffed Cat || Living in Reyna's dwelling with her is a stuffed cat named Mr. Purr, should you try to touch Mr. Purr, Reyna will bite you.
Ear Scritches || The easiest way to get her to roll over like a good girl is by scratching her behind the ears.
Attachment || Reyna becomes very attached to the few that she can trust. Most people have pushed her away and so she has learned not to love.

ⓈⓉⓇⒺⓃⒼⓉⒽⓈ
Emotions || Being insane does have some perks, the ability to throw away her humanity and emotions being one of them.
Gardening || Reyna has quite the green thumb, she has managed to make a tiny garden in a desolate desert.
Emergency Medicine || Reyna used to have an interest in nursing. Now she uses her practices to make herself clothing.

ⒻⒺⒶⓇⓈ
Loss || Reyna has lost so much, she can't stand to let go of anything anymore. That's why Mr. Purr is her only friend.
The Night || The sounds of the desert at night are some of the most terrifying you will ever hear.
Never Being Found || Reyna is only in that little oasis because she's lost. At this point, she fears no one will ever find her.

Image
{☛ ⓅⒺⓇⓈⓄⓃⒶⓁⒾⓉⓎ☚}
To describe her personality would be impossible. Unique, is the only word that can truly be used to describe her. The traumatizing events of her past and her current situation have both attributed to her insanity. In truth, it began as the soon as the world order collapsed. Since the death of her family, the destruction of her home by her own hand, and the suicide of her betrothed, Reyna has been in a downwards spiral into a darkness that is nearly impossible to pull her from. Sometimes she seems to be more animal than human which is evident in the behavior of favoring ear scratches and curling up next to someone to sleep. Reyna has been terribly lonely through it all and fishing her back towards the light would be an impossibility. She has been isolated in an oasis for several years, her only companion a stuffed cat. Her world came crumbling down and so Reyna would take other's with her. She became known as Miss Destruction, infamous for tearing apart the feudal kingdoms that had been so carefully constructed. Her touch brought them to their knees and left terribly weakened. Stories built of a cat who that if they could tame, would assist them in becoming powerful lords. So Reyna's nickname went from Miss Destruction to Lucky Cat. Throughout it all, though girl was simply looking for a way to grieve. She became sought after, like a wild animal on the hunt, a dog to be broken to work for the master. No one could tame her though and she escaped from her last home to the desert, only realizing her mistake once it was too late.

Image
{☛ ⓅⓁⒶⒸⒺ ⓄⒻ ⓄⓇⒾⒼⒾⓃ ☚}
Before the collapse she was originally from the rainy London, England.

{☛ ⒻⒶⓂⒾⓁⓎ ☚}
Everyone she loved is dead.

{☛ ⒽⒾⓈⓉⓄⓇⓎ ☚}
Born three months too early, Reyna had a genetic defect that made her far too small. Her parents hung on to the small string of hope that she would survive and waited out the next three months praying for their daughter's recovery. Miraculously, with a near 3% survival rate, Reyna lived. She beat the odds and was taken home, only to be given the news that in the future, her lungs would collapse and she would need a transplant. As long as their child stayed away from drugs and alcohol, she was on the list for receiving a vital set of organs. In the meantime, Reyna's affluent family hid her away, promising to betroth her to someone whose marriage would allow them to form a rather large conglomerate. The two children fell deeply in love and one day, when Reyna's buzzer ringed, they knew it was time. She went to the hospital, hoping to come back a new person.

They had no idea that the lungs she would receive would be from that of a demon. When the operation was finished, she went home, no one realizing that the demon was already taking over. Her genetics changed completely. Reyna locked herself in her room, her corridors becoming a dilapidated hovel of broken furniture and things covered in bite and scratch marks. Her parents had no idea what was wrong with their daughter. They locked her in there, hoping they could find a doctor that could fix her. No human could figure out what was wrong until a man in a lab coat mysteriously arrived and promised Reyna he would take her pain away if she allowed him her hand. Reyna refused, she was still young and promised to a different boy who had been murderer a week before. It was ruled a suicide and the grief made the final string that held her humanity together snap.

Her parents were dead, her house destroyed. She wasn't satisfied, the blood lust had not been settled. Around this time, the world collapsed. Where there was once thriving greenery there was now a wasteland. Reyna destroyed kingdoms, took lives, all to make the pain go away. A rumor went around that if she was caught, it would make one powerful and so they laid out traps, people keeping their eyes out in search of the pink haired fox. Eventually, someone caught her. He kept her as a pet but Reyna was just as unruly. Whenever he tried to get close she would bite him. Somehow, the man thought that making her wear a collar with a bell would somehow calm her down, having been sold the bell with the belief that it had calming properties.

The foolish human made the mistake of leaving the cage door open and Reyna escaped into the desert, where she has been living in an oasis ever since.

Reyna's hands were covered in blood, a pile of bones being used to play a game to see how far she could throw them. The pelt was used in her collection of furs that Reyna sometimes clothed herself in, but mostly used as a blanket to block out the sand.

Eight hundred and twenty six days, she used a bone to make a notch in the tree, nearly down to the bottom now. Eight hundred and twenty six days with only her stuffed cat for company. It was a safe assumption to think that Reyna was no longer stable, both from the isolation and the demon lungs that had slowly infected her entire body, taking over her thoughts, suppressing the human girl and turning her into a crazed animal that had leveled mountains and stomped across cities like fireflies blinking out one by one. Her age was irrelevant, time didn't move on the Oasis; she had been sixteen for almost three years. Or maybe longer, Reyna had stopped counting for a number of days, possibly months. It was painful to think about it, almost three years and she was still stuck here, eating whatever animal dared cross through her precious land and thriving off of the tiny garden she had managed to plant from the scraps of fruits and vegetables in the backpack she had taken here.

"So Mr. Mittens," Reyna purred, combing her fingers through the fur of her stuffed cat. "How much longer do you suppose?" She tilted her head to the side in question, an ear flopping over. Mr. Mittens didn't answer of course, but Reyna snuggled him regardless, her fluffy tail wagging with pleasure as she imagined the kitten saying today. Today would be the day when Reyna's family would rescue her, when her fiance would appear from no where, taking her hand and leading her back home. Of course, Reyna was delusional. She remembered killing her own parents and the suicide of her fiance during the collapse of society. She knew they were dead and yet, her mind wouldn't stop believing that they would rescue her.

Every time Reyna attempted to leave the oasis she would get turned around and end right back where she started. Sometimes she would find the remains of a society, which is how she had gotten Mr. Mittens, but most of the time, she wound up right back in the Oasis, her tongue parched, and mind unable to think from dehydration. The half demon, half human probably wasn't someone who should renter society anyways, even if she was wanting company. Reyna had adapted to the harsh ways of the desert, becoming protective of her land, eating any passing by animals, making sure to guard her property from any suspicious shadows. Her sense of justice was warped. Shadows were enemies, clouds were something to bark at, suspicious foot marks that normally turned out to be her own set her on edge. It was hard to rationalize with someone who had no sense of logic.

Today, the sun beat down especially hot. Reyna wiggled out of her clothing, grasping Mr. Mittens in her teeth gently and taking him to the water with her, where both sunk into the cool depths that made the burning on her skin lessen. She had tied up her pink hair, ears twitching despite the fact that there were no sounds. When she was done, Reyna redressed and sat beneath her shelter, the heat wrapping all around her like a blanket. She was sleepy, but at the same time felt restless, like she was waiting.

Ronan cursed himself for being nice, for listening to the loop of a child's cry and attempting to free them, only to be trapped by slave traders. The last month they had spent trying to groom him, seemingly attempting to come up with some way to sell him. Apparently though, they didn't need any fancy slogans or embarrassing pictures. A man named Joshua White had taken one look at him and Ronan was sold. Of course, the ex hunter had spent most of his time attempting to find a way out. He would kill these traders, free the rest of his slaves, but Ronan's promises to himself were only fulfilled in his dreams. He remained in chains, unable to move in the cell as the traders came in, feeding him like a toddler with no motor function, dressing, and taking care of him until Mr. White could pick him up.

Of course Ronan knew who Joshua White was; he didn't live under a rock. One of the modern feudal lords that helped restore the balance to humanity by providing necessary resources for humans and demons alike. Ronan had never met him personally, had never heard him speak, but he knew White by name well enough. From then, Ronan tried to think of a way to overtake Joshua, to manipulate him somehow into accidentally letting Ronan go. Or to simply free the boy altogether. "You can dream up a thousand ways to kill us son, it ain't ever gone happen." One of the traders laughed on the day that Ronan was gagged and blinded, stuffed into a vehicle and whisked away to Joshua White's home.

Ronan felt the sun on his back for a mere thirty seconds as he was transferred from vehicle to the house. The first thing Ronan tried to do was escape. He wiggled, breaking through the cloth bindings and throwing off the blindfold as he ran, pushing past pedestrians and making it to the border. Ronan was just about to cross it when a terrible pain hit him in the small of his back and he fell over, twitching. "Now, now don't make such a fuss. Mr. White payed good money," the trader lifted him, people avoiding the man as they went back to the house, or mansion really.

The sun disappeared, replaced by darkness as Ronan was carried down, down, down into the basement. Someone was waiting there, another of Joshua's slaves that wordlessly caged Ronan like a dog, taking his clothes and leaving him in the cold, dark basement. At least Ronan still had his boxers. He tried to think on the bright side despite the fact that his body was at the moment useless due to the sedative in his blood stream. When it finally faded, his eyes had adjusted to the dark.

He spent the time scarring anyone that came in, threatening anyone that attempted to approach the cage. It become colder and darker, but Ronan persisted. He would have his freedom, even if he had to kill Joshua White himself.

New Praetora, the successor to what was once Praetora. Years ago, Praetora was large, massive, encompassing a gigantic and unmatched swath of territory that no one could hope to resist. Uralaiya, the Chariot, was among the most powerful of demons, ruling with an iron fist as she marched to victory. Praetora was powerful, it was mighty, and it was feared. No one could stop it's advance as it's armies stretched across the desert. No one had the slightest hope of withstanding it's might. Until, of course, court politics tore it apart from within, giving birth to that hated Nox Astra to the south of Urara - Uralaiya's daughter - 's new home, fittingly called New Praetora. The ministers of tiny New Praetora waited in the council room of the Colluseum House, but their illustrious ruler didn't show up. And, well, no matter how long they waited, the girl they pledged allegiance to would never show up, at least for the time being. Truth be told, Urara wasn't even in New Praetora. She was instead having an adventure in the desert, far away, shooting herself like a bullet for miles and miles across the dunes and sands, in search for nothing in particular but enjoying the sensation of extreme speed.

Nothing was quite as fun as an adventure! The little girl took a little break, standing in the morning sun with a bright smile on her face. Who cares about stupid board meetings and council stuff? That stuff wasn't fun at all, no way, absolutely not! Ura refused to waste her time doing that when she had fun adventures to be had, and desert exploration was always something amazing! The girl giggled cheerfully, kicking her feet against the sandy hill she stood on.

"Now, what shall we do today?" The girl asked herself with a shrug. "Ah, who cares, it'll be fun so let's not worry about it!"

She spotted something strange and green in the distance. Ura seemed delighted but didn't really know what it was. She popped her bottle of water, drinking the nourishing liquid with a grin on her face and a satisfied little burp as the water trickled down her throat. She then put her finger on her head and activated her bullet touch again, zooming ridiculously quickly towards what eventually proved itself to be an oasis. Ura was so happy! She made a new discovery, something fun and exciting! "Ura's so cool!" The girl cried, jumping for joy. Ah, this was so much fun! Then she saw an incredibly sight -there was a dog girl, clutching a little stuffed cat! A dog girl, a travel companion! Ah, it had to be fate, it had to be! Ura wouldn't accept no for an answer, of course not!

"Dog, you are now mine!" Urara declared, taking a battle stance, smiling with flushed excitement. "We'll play lots and have lots of adventures, so be happy, okay? We'll be best friends!"

Reyna had been drifting off to sleep, enjoying the silence that permeated the air like the suffocating heat. Sand tracked onto her new blanket, sand always got everywhere, there was no use in trying to keep it out as Reyna had learned long ago. Now she embraced it, scratching it from her fur and hair with nails sharpened by years of grinding them against a tree. Reyna sighed, looking at the plants she cared for ever since her first day here. She was a guard watching over the treasure, attempting to stay vigilant despite the sleep pulling at her eyes. Only a few minutes, Reyna had promised herself, a few minutes and she would be right back on her feet, taking care of her garden. Mr. Mittens attempted to urge her from sleep, but Reyna stroked his head to reassure him, hand resting on his fur.

"Reyna sweetie, I'd like to introduce you to someone." The daughter of the socialite bounded down the steps, blonde curls bouncing, eyes sparkling. Reyna was a different person then, terrible lungs, a happy smile; human. Standing nervously in the living room was her future husband, a boy a bit taller and older with brown hair and green eyes. Reyna smiled and his heart seemed to stop. "How do you do?" She asked, holding out her hand. Her parents had raised her like the socialites of the old age, perfect manners, fancy dresses, surrounded by glamour and tutors to teach her everything she needed to know.

He kissed her hand, bowing and standing. "My n-name is-is K-Kristoff Swift." Reyna giggled at his nervousness, straightening and giving him another heart stopping smile. "My name is Reyna Violetta Lillian King." He smiled and Reyna's mother interjected. "Kristoff is your betrothed, you two play nice now while the adults talk." Reyna nodded her head, taking Kristoff's hand and leading him to the garden. "Aren't you upset?" Kristoff stopped once they had gotten outside. "Just being handed off like that with no decision as to whether you actually love me or not?" Reyna turned, tilting her head to the side in question. Kristoff thought that if she had dog ears, they would have flopped over and it only made his cheeks blush.

Reyna shook her head, "As long as everyone can be happy." Reyna replied, "Besides, I'm only 7. I have plenty of time to fall in love!"

"Hey dog, you're mine!"

That's not how the memory went. Reyna's eyes snapped open, standing on all fours in alert. She growled at the approaching figure, an orange haired girl with a big attitude for her small size. "Reyna is not a dog." She hissed, "Reyna is a fox." her ears lay flat against her head at the threat, the demon's smell surrounding her. "She is not your anything." Especially not her dog. How had this girl gotten here? Reyna hadn't heard her coming, she hadn't smelled her; but now she was here.

What if she wanted Mittens? Reyna stood over the stuffed cat protectively. What if she was here for the garden? Reyna wouldn't share, she wasn't going to let this weird girl take any of her vital food. "Leave if you'd like to continue living."

Ronan wanted water so badly. His throat felt parched, like he was walking through a sand storm with no canteen of water. The basement was freezing, the absence of light only serving to make the dank space even colder. He was forced to wear a collar like a dog, chained up most likely in fear that he would get away. Even if he got out of the cage though, the stairs had lifted into the ceiling, taking the light with it. Ronan wouldn't know how to get up there in this darkness, even if his eyes had adjusted the smallest bit visibility was still only at about 30%. Ronan quit moving, the chains made noises that hurt his ears every time he adjusted to their pull. So he sat in silence at least until; drip, drip, drip. Water! His expression brightened and he moved around in search of the dripping sound, in search of something to quench his thirst.

He stuck a hand through the bars of the cage, testing it. There was nothing, no after effect or shock. He could feel the water and every droplet that fell on his hand he licked off the surface, slowly making the thirst go away. It was agonizingly slow, but eventually, Ronan was no longer thirsty. It was when he sat back in the cage, wiping his hands on his boxers that a creaking filled the basement and someone descended the stairs, causing the lights to turn on. Ronan squinted at the sudden brightness, recognizing the figure that was coming down the stairs. He had, actually, met Joshua White once when he was very little. His presence had been larger than life and Ronan recalled wanting to grow up to be just like him.

Now though, Ronan was disgusted by him. The man in charge of a vast network of slave trading, kidnapping, sullying, killing. "I know who you are." He growled, getting to his feet despite the weakness from lack of sleep and food. The man had the gall to open the cage, to step inside. Ronan didn't attack though, no, he was going to bide his time for now, wait until White had finished his speech and gestures. "I'm only here because you're selling human lives like food you pig." Ronan snarled, then, a smile. "They're willing to pay quite a hefty sum to anyone who could destroy your little empire. I knew the risks when I took the job." However, he hadn't anticipated to be caught.

No one ever expected to be caught though and yet, it happened. Joshua spoke, there, nuzzled into his cool words was a chance at freedom. Ronan still had his pride though and he was conflicted. His expression softened; if it were a chance to get out he would use it, even if it made him want to die to speak such a lie. "Yes," He whispered, hands balling into fists as he sunk to his knees. He wrapped his arms around himself, leaning against the bars of the cage. "They-they touched me, they kept saying that what you were going to do was worse." It was a lie of course, any trader that had gotten too frisky was quickly punished. The head of the Traders had wanted Ronan untouched and so he had isolated him in a cage with no windows.

Ronan looked down, falling quiet for only a moment. Then, at the most unexpected time, he leaped, attempting to grab White by the throat and take the keys. Pain suddenly racked his body and his fingers brushed White's pants as he fell, moaning in pain.

Sometimes, Xia really hated how clumsy she was. She tuned out the sounds of her sister`s grunts and complaints about the endless pile of paperwork - she had to, after all, focus on her job! Dressed in a waitress maid outfit, Xia accidentally dropped yet another plate of food, shattering the plate and scattering its contents on the floor. Why was she so bad at this? Why couldn't she be tall and graceful like the other waitresses? It also made her sad that no matter how many mistakes she made, everyone would just pat her head and forgive her. "It's okay, Xianata." Old man Crawley said with a kind smile, patting her head at yet another accident. "It's enough that you're willing to come and help out, don't take it so hard."

It was like everyone looked down on her, wanting her to just stay as an idle princess that didn't do anything. Xia didn't want that at all, she wanted to be able to help and contribute to the success of Nox Astra however she could. These were the people that sided with her when Uralaiya tried to have her married off to Charon, after all, so she wanted to pay back her debt. But everyone just seemed to treat her like they would a helpless little child. Isn't it normal to get annoyed from that?

”I'll try harder next time, I swear!" Xia vowed, making a determined expression. ”I won't break another plate."

Carrying another tray of food, Xia stepped out into the diner, listening to people casually making breakfast orders and the like. Food was something everyone needed, and something everyone seemed to enjoy. By helping people get their food, Xia was indirectly helping the citizens of Nox Astra have the fuel they needed to go about their days. She was, after all the Princess of Nox Astra. It was her duty to tend to the people, wasn't it? So when she tripped and fell over her own feet, why was it that one of the customers reached and caught her, petting her head with a little smile on his face?

”I wish people would take me more seriously, sis."

She could hear Lux's chuckle from the her head, warm and kind. "You are their beloved princess, Nata. I mean, almost everyone thinks of you as the collective daughter of the city. They all love you, isn't that fine?"

Xia still wanted to be able to help, but she had to admit that it was nice to hear that she was loved.

What Urara saw in front of her in this desert oasis was definitely a dog, even if she called herself a fox. What was a fox, anyways? Urara didn't know, she didn't care, but she knew she wanted a friend. The dog girl said something about leaving if she wanted to live - but that was silly, Ura couldn't die! She wasn't like her mother, she'd never let herself die, ever! It was a funny challenge, definitely. She really wanted this girl as her friend!

"Ura wants you, so Ura's gonna have you." Urara said with cheer, taking rope from her bag and holding it in front of her. The ruler of New Praetora always kept it on her in case there was something interesting to catch, and what could possibly be more interesting than this dog girl? "We can play a lot of games!"

The red haired girl held the rope and tapped it - sending it flying at bullet speed towards the dog so that the ends would go around her, tying her up and entangling her for Urara to claim. Ura wanted a friend, and if the dog didn't want to cooperate, Urara would just force her to be a friend! She wouldn't just let it go, who lets their friends leave? That's just silly.

"Ura will be your master." The girl declared with triumph.

The girl called her something strange, Rey-Rey? She didn't like the sound of that. Was this child mocking her? Reyna was prepared to attack when the girl came at her like a speeding bullet, tackling Reyna and causing them both to roll into her shelter, Mr. Mittens a casualty in their spinning. The girl pulled something from her bag, the smell of meat filling Reyna's nose. Her eyes widened, where had this girl gotten bird from?

A bit of drool leaked from her mouth and Reyna shook her head again, snapping herself out of it. No! What if the meat was poisoned or spoiled? Just in case, Reyna kicked the girl away and grabbed Mr. Mittens in her hand, running out of the hut and onto the other side. She put Mr. Mittens down protectively and hissed. It would take a lot more than food to win her over, there was no way Reyna would let something like that distract her.

Her stomach made a sound that indicated hunger and Reyna became distracted, forgetting about the girl and her offering and going to the garden. She dug up some sort of tuber and grasped it in her teeth, running back over on all fours to Mr. Mittens to share it with him. Reyna split it in half, wolfing down the part she didn't give Mittens.

He sat at he bottom of the cage once more, the lights darkened, head spinning from loss of blood. Ronan could feel the sensation in his shoulder slowly going away, taking the use of his arm with it. He winced in pain whenever he shifted, attempting to find a comfortable position. There was a creaking sound as the stairs descended, revealing a new character. This man was in a white lab coat with a grim expression; a doctor no doubt. He opened the door to the cage, stepping inside. "I'm here to fix your shoulder." He stated simply and lay his tools on the ground. "Don't touch me!" Ronan snapped as the man came near him with a needle. Ronan hated needles, he hated any sort of pain.

"Don't make such a fuss, I'll be finished quickly."

"I said don't touch me!" Ronan suddenly leaned forward, causing the Doctor to jump back. Despite the large beard taking up half his face Ronan could see the scowl. The Doctor left, returning shortly with two slaves. Ronan was stubborn, he didn't want any aid, not if it was from White. Then he would owe the man and this was a dangerous place to have debts. "Don't come near me," he hissed in warning. He was weak though and his head was spinning. One slave held down his legs, the other his abdomen. Like this Ronan couldn't move much, especially without making his shoulder hurt.

The Doctor injected something into his arm, making the remaining muscle relax. He cut and tied and sewed, finally wrapping the wound up in white bandages that seemed so pure and out of place in a basement full of filth. The slaves let go of Ronan, following the Doctor back up stairs. The lights closed, leaving him in utter darkness once more. Ronan was growing used to it though, the bitter cold that bit at his skin, the loneliness of being in the basement by himself. He lifted his other arm, the one that wasn't hurt, the jangle of chains combined with what Joshua White had done before giving him an idea.

Ronan suddenly felt overwhelmed with glee. Yes, he would rejoin his parents and brother, reunite with them at last. He wrapped the chain around his neck, pulling in order to cut off the flow of oxygen to his lungs. It would be a slow death that was certain, but Ronan was reassured by the thought that the pain and suffocation would be worth it in the end. "Wait for me little brother." He murmured, a smile on his face despite the fact that he couldn't breathe.

Of course, Lux still had one stop to make before heading home and relaxing with Xia. Once she was finished with that stupid paperwork, the monarch of Nox Astra walked up the elevator to a higher floor of the Lunar Citadel - the strategy room. It was late, and her intelligence team was supposed to have gone home to sleep, but there was still that one young man who insisted on sticking around, always working harder than the rest despite his youth. Lux took a quick glance at his nametag before smiling graciously at him, making the young man seem stunned and almost afraid, as if Lux had some intimidating aura about her or something. ”Hello, Cartwright." Luxara said in greeting. ”Any news on Styx's movements? Do you know when they'll make their advance?"

Cartwright muttered something and spin around in his chair, glancing at the notes and reports from Nox Astra's expansive spy network. He glanced back at his boss, still seeming shy and nervous despite being taller than her, regarding her with a bad attempt at professionalism. "Um, Agent Leona thinks it'll take Styx a month or so before being able to make a significant advance." Cartwright informed her. "The west side of the desert is nearly unified now, so we should be careful."

”Styx, huh?" Xia's voice poked in her mind, an always welcome resident. ”He killed our peace messenger a few weeks ago. Xara, I'm a little... anxious. Can we survive if Charon decides to attack?"

Lux had a grim frown on her face. Styx was immensely powerful; it'd likely take more than just the might of Nox Astra to hold against the storm. ”If White and Satsuki are on our side, we might have a chance. But I swear, I won't let him hurt you, Nata." Lux felt minor annoyance from Xia about always being protected, which, unfortunately, Lux related to in a way. Still, she didn't want Xia to have to strain herself for anything, she wanted her sister to live a happy, carefree life while she dealt with keeping Nox afloat.

”Make an order to increase funding on our long ranged plasma weaponry research." Lux commanded, glancing at the notes herself. As much as she didn't want to have to prepare for war, it was an eventuality that would happen. The woman stared at her clock eye through the reflection on the screen, wondering how many more uses she had before her own life span vanished into nothingness. If she had to die, she'd at least make it a world where Xia could find a safe place to stay.

”Xara, we could save a lot of money if you just let me-"

”Absolutely not. I won't make you hurt yourself making rain for us. We have the lake, water's of no concern." Perhaps unfortunately, Xianata had the power of rain. Lux wanted to keep that as carefully hidden as possible, knowing many people who would try to snatch her up upon finding out the truth. Xia's value was great as water was a scarcity in the desert. Nox Astra didn't need an even bigger reason to be attacked. Lux felt Xia's mental sigh and was glad her little sister didn't press the issue further.

”Also, keep an eye on White's movements." Lux said, turning her back at Cartwright. ”I'm sure he'll try to buy out an independent water company at first chance - we'll have to search and assimilate all of them in the area. We can't afford to let the treaty break."

With that, Lux returned to the elevator, wondering what food Xia had prepared for her back at home, then realized it was some sort of seafood dish as Xia unintentionally streamed it to her. The ruler of Nox Astra smiled to herself, excited.

Someone who was even more excited than Lux of Nox Astra was Urara of New Praetora. Her new friend kept fighting back, kept resisting, like a good game of tag. It made her blood boil - she really wanted to play. There was no one around, no adults to stop her from having fun, no boring people to try and drag her to meetings and do sign a lot of papers that she didn't understand - most of which from Nox Astra, some sort of treaty thing or other that honestly, Ura didn't even know what half of it meant. She was a terrible ruler, a disappointment compared to the strength her mother once had. It was impossible for her to live up to that. But... she could at least dominate her friend and play with the dog girl, couldn't she?

If food wouldn't work, Urara would have to go to more drastic measures. As the dog girl Reyna started eating, sharing some with the stuffed animal, it suddenly became clear. With unseeable speed, Urara launched herself - nabbing the stuffed animal and holding it up as a prize. "Well, if Rey-Rey doesn't want to be friends, then Ura will just make this toy her friend instead!" Her eyes gleamed, ready for the dog girl to strike.

Reyna was enjoying her meal of desert potato, having nearly forgotten about the strange girl completely. She had looked away for one second and the girl shot like lightning at her, grabbing onto Mittens and jumping back. The potato fell from Reyna's mouth, her heart skipping a beat. "No!" Reyna screamed in a panic, standing on two feet and tripping across the sand in her rush to save Mittens from the evil child.

"Give him back!" She pouted, not wanting to be bullied by this girl but not wanting Mittens to get hurt either. "Reyna wants him back!" Reyna was incredibly short and up close, she realized that she and the girl were just about the same height. Her fingers just brushed Mittens tail, but the girl kept him out of reach. "Fine! Reyna will be friends with you, just give Reyna Mr. Mittens!" It was an act of desperation, but her fingers were crossed behind her back with one hand. She was going to go back on her word of course and as soon as the girl turned her back Reyna would kill her.

No one touched Mr. Mittens and got away with it. "Give him back!" Reyna had no real ability, she was only a half demon and so she only received physical demon traits. If she could, Reyna would have blasted the girl to next week.

Mouse moved, the boy seemingly hearing someone call him. Ronan had heard nothing though and as Mouse left, a terrible feeling sunk into his stomach. Ronan was alone once more, but he hated being by himself. He used to share a room with Wesley, he shared a room as a merc too. The only time Ronan was ever alone was when he slept int he desert while traveling and even then, it had been terribly lonely. Wesley would have been Mouse's age if he were still alive and the thought made Ronan glum.

Ronan lay on the floor, leaning on his good shoulder, in hopes of falling asleep. He curled into a ball, hoping he wouldn't freeze to death in this stupid basement.

Ronan was reliving that night again. He and Wesley sat in their room as their parents fought. Ronan didn't mind though, he was showing Wesley how to play chess and Wesley was already beating him. His little brother had always been like that, quick, good at games. He had bested Ronan at a game the boy had made up once and Ronan had to give Wesley his desserts for a week. "So the knight moves this way, okay?" He asked, showing him and Wesley nodded his head.

Ten minutes later, their mother came upstairs with a black eye. She smiled though, telling them to go to bed. She tucked both of them in, kissing her son's foreheads. Ronan had forgotten to tell her that he loved her as she closed the lights. Little did Ronan know it would be the last time he saw her alive. He figured he would tell her in the morning, he would wake up and tell her first thing.

Ronan never got the chance.

There was a demon in his room, eating his little brother, crunching Wesley's bones, drinking his blood. Ronan was forced to watch as Wesley screamed and thrashed but Ronan couldn't do anything and they laughed, killing his parents, forcing Ronan to watch.

He awoke with a scream, panting, clawing at the air. It was for this reason that Ronan hardly ever slept, knowing he would have to watch the same thing every night. Ronan used to take sleeping pills to knock him out and sometimes it would work, he'd be in such a heavy sleep that the nightmares couldn't come. Either that, or he'd get trapped within and be unable to force himself awake.

Luxara walked down the steps to the massive underground complex that resided under Nox Astra. Sure, on the surface, the city itself was smaller than White City and the enigmatic Faerun far to the west, but according to estimations, the subway system reached almost as far as Styx's own massive spread, stretching almost as far as Tigris Lake to the far south. The subway and rapid transit system was Nox Astra's pride and joy, already packed with people as they shuffled and out out of the many trains. This was Artemis Station, the central hub of the spiderweb like maze of the subways, where almost all the lines went to as they transported people two and from different districts of the city. Music played over the speakers, something happy and energetic that Nata had chosen early this morning to try and get people pepped up for the day. Of course, when in public, Lux kept her hair draped carefully over her clock eye, smiling with dissonant serenity as she paid her fare and stepped into the subway that took her to her home, at the eastern edge of the city that bordered Lake Xiana.

”Come home quick, Xara!" Xia said in a sing-song, clearly excited for Lux to try her cooking. The girl wasn't the best cook, but the owner of that diner seemed more than willing to offer her tips and tricks, as well as lessons in order to get better. It made Lux feel a little warm inside, that everyone was willing to be kind to her precious little sister. ”Don't take too long, or I'll eat it all!"

”Wait, no, no, don't! I'll get home as fast as I can, okay?"

What Lux didn't anticipate, however, was having a message forwarded to her from Cartwright, saying it was of high importance. Lux checked the message from the device she took from her pocket, inserting earphones so that no one else would hear it. Josh's succulent voice entered her ears again and Lux, naturally, relayed everything to Xia, keeping her in the loop. Talk about Styx, it seemed - that made Lux feel very relieved. She was very, very anxious that White might've chosen to try to annex Nox Astra in preparation for Styx's threat, and was glad he seemed willing to perform some kind of negotiation.

”Don't forget the business deals, Xara." Xia added sagely, sounding a little annoyed. ”He's definitely going to try to sneak it past you while you're focused on Styx,"

”I know. That's why I have you, to counter-act his abilities." Lux thought fondly, then focused on the business deal aspect. Was it about the water being sent to White City, or something else entirely? She was very aware of the man's habit of crushing small, independent businesses. There was this one person who was excavating rather close to her territory, the ruins of what used to be Praetora...

”Tapsis, that steel mill guy." Xia, helpful as ever. ”Or maybe Horloge Water Co, purified from cactus extract or something. They've been acting up as well. Do you want me to put in the order to buy them both?'

Lux said a no in her head, interested in seeing White's hand first. She'd have to message White back after enjoying Xia's seafood platter - something regarding Styx couldn't wait.

Urara was having fun taunting the dog girl with Mr. Mittens, which was apparently the name of the silly toy. Why was Rey-Rey so attached to such a thing, anyways? Ura didn't really understand, it was just a silly toy, after all! Didn't Rey-Rey want a living, breathing friend to play with? Wasn't that more fun? What adventures could you have with a toy - and for that matter, where the heck did Rey-Rey even find the toy? It looked like a relic of the old days, of human civilization years past. Urara shrugged, not all too concerned. She instead kept playing, keeping just out of the dog girl's reach with a tricky, crafty grin. This was fun! So much fun, Urara really liked it, she liked it lots!

It would be funner if Rey-Rey was having fun too, though. Urara always liked it better when her friends were having fun, and Rey-Rey was one of her friends now, wasn't she? "Ura wants Rey-Rey to have fun, too, though!" Urara complained after Rey-Rey finally agreed to be her friend. Urara gently and carefully tossed the toy back to Rey-Rey, this time going in for a friendly and playful hug. "What does Rey-Rey like to do for fun? I want to play a lot of fun things with you!"

Urara was hungry now, so she dug into her bag, finding two more chicken wings in a plastic container. She took one out, biting into it happily, then showed the other to Rey-Rey, grinning. "Sharing is caring. Does Rey-Rey want one?" There was still water, too, though Urara wasn't sure if Rey-Rey needed it, seeing as she lived in a secret water place hidden in the desert. "Rey-Rey can have some of my water, too!"

Reyna felt relieved that the girl tossed her Mr. Mittens back, she picked up the toy and hugged it protectively, tucking Mr. Mittens into her waist band. Suddenly, she was attacked, tossed to the ground. Reyna believed she was being attacked. She hissed and attempted to claw but the girl held her hands down at her sides, disabling Reyna. "What are you doing!" She asked, alarmed, the gesture of affection so lost on a girl who had gone so long without the touch of another mortal. "How do you know Reyna's name?" She asked, wondering if the girl was a mind reader.

If Reyna had abilities like that, she would have most probably torn this little girl apart. The girl let go of Reyna and went through her bag, taking out a container with chicken in it. Her eyes lit up, her stomach growling. How long it had been since she had eaten something aside from fox and desert rat. Reyna took the chicken wing from the child's grasp with her teeth, moving a bit away as she crunched through bone, stripping it of it's meat and licking the grease from her fingers. "Reyna has water," she replied and went to the pool of crystal clear water. Reyna knelt down, lapping up water with her tongue.

Ronan had been waiting, plotting. He would pull the chain around White's neck, choke off oxygen. He would have to move quickly though, lest he wanted the man to use one of his tricks. So Ronan lay in wait and the door opened, Joshua rushing inside, looking furious. Ronan was ready to leap but before he could so much as move, White jabbed his shoulder with a syringe and Ronan's world faded.

He awoke in an unfamiliar room, arms and legs tied spread eagle style. Ronan's head felt as though it had filled with led. He groaned as his vision returned, looking around what appeared to be a Medieval torture chamber. What was he doing here? Joshua White was speaking to him, asking him if he was awake, saying it would be boring if Ronan slept through this. "Where?" Ronan asked groggily, lifting his head to see the man turning his back, a tray of surgical tools at his side. The floor was stained with brown spots, terrible memories turned nightmares. White touched his shoulder, tracing his fingers along the seam of stitches the Doctor had sewn up hours earlier. "Go f*** yourself." Ronan murmured, his senses coming back one by one.

The man picked up a knife, a long elegant hunting knife Ronan would have used to cut people just like White down. Without so much as a word, he dug the knife into Ronan's abdomen. He gasped, blood splattering from his lips, dribbling down his chin. "What are you doing!" Ronan yelled, panicked. He gasped as Joshua began dragging the blade upwards, curving it and marveling at the incision. "Stop!" Ronan couldn't move, the pain overwhelming. White dug his fingers beneath the flesh, Ronan's blood spilling out, staining his boxers and dripping to the floor in puddles. He screamed as Joshua pulled at it, explaining something Ronan couldn't hear over the pain firing off in his body.

He wasn't letting Ronan die no, he was being very careful to ensure he didn't damage anything beneath. "Stop!" He would yell, nearly slipping off of the footholds. It hurt to stand, but if he didn't hold himself up the pain became unbearable. "Why don't you just kill me!" Ronan tried to growl but it came out as more of a whimper, a pathetic plea begging for death so that he could join his family. Reunite in a world where there was no such thing as pain, of course, if such a dimension existed.

It didn't stop. It was as though he were trying to trim Ronan down, taking off anything he believed to be excess. Ronan was light headed from loss of blood, the coppery taste thick on his tongue. Then a call came, but there was no respite. He pulled the knife out, telling Ronan he wasn't going anywhere, that he couldn't move. It wasn't like Ronan could go anywhere anyways, if he moved he would most likely bleed to death, not that he was far off from that already.

"Please, just kill me."

Urara was very pleased at the turn of events, though for some reason Rey-Rey didn't seem like she liked the hug, she struggled and tried to fight against it, but that was fine, Urara could teach her what love and friendship and happiness is. The dog girl must've been so lonely in the desert all by herself, with no one to talk to, so Ura decided that she would be the one to show Rey-Rey joy and companionship! That's what friends did, and that's what Urara wanted to do! When she decided on something, there's no way she'd ever regret it! "It's a hug, Rey-Rey!" Urara said. "It's what you do with someone you like!"

Urara considered doing something she rarely ever did. Her fun powers was definitely an option, and Rey-Rey didn't seem like she liked Ura yet. Was there something was with her? Wasn't she fun? When the dog girl asked how she knew her name, Urara felt like giggling. "You said earlier when I called you a dog that you were Reyna, remember?" Urara said with a happy smile, a bounce of her foot as she kicked against the sand. "You gave Ura your name, so that's why we're friends now!"

When Rey-Rey went to lap up water from the oasis, Urara suddenly had an idea. It might've been a silly idea, a weird idea, but she wanted to say it anyways. After all, she had a home, didn't she? And what if Rey-Rey was lonely here all by herself? Urara smiled at the drinking dog girl, keeping a respectful distance just in case she wasn't used to being a friend yet. "Rey-Rey, if you want, Ura has a place where you can eat and drink as much as you want. And we can go on adventures and explore the world together! There's this one city, White City, it's really big and full of rich people! Urara wants to visit it with you!" Her voice turned somewhat pleading near the end. She really wanted Rey-Rey to accept her as a friend.

Suffice to say, Xia wasn't exactly skilled at cooking, either. She knew not to try too much, but Lux was expecting a big, amazing dish and instead all there was was a few little burnt fish crisps and burnt rice, with some kind of sauce that made the whole thing taste really, really sour. She looked at the bag of scallops she bought from Babylon a few days ago, and placed it back in the fridge, not trusting her cooking abilities enough to be able to make use of them. Xia was sad - she wanted to be useful. She wanted to be able to do something to help improve the lives of everyone around her, and yet she was always so useless. She didn't have any talents, not really. She wasn't really good at anything at all.

”Nata, seriously, don't worry about it, okay?" Lux urged from inside her head. ”It's okay, I'll eat whatever you make me. With enough practice, I know you'll succeed."

That wasn't what Xia really wanted, though. She wanted someone to criticize her, to tell her what she did wrong so she could improve. If everyone just kept saying that she didn't need to be good, then she would never improve, and never be of use to anyone. Xia really didn't want that kind of fate.

”I'll try harder next time, sis." Xia thought, somewhat sad. The food really was a disaster, it was horrible. It made Xia upset that she still never managed to repay Lux for all of the times she saved her, for preventing her from having to marry Charon and leave behind everything she knew. Then Xia got a message from Satsuki from Babylon, something about Origin and Aretha coming to visit? That made Xia happy, really happy! While Lux dealed with White, Xia would be glad to entertain the guests. They were probably on bounty hunting busienss, or maybe Satsuki just wanted some time to think without Aretha being restless, but whatever it was, there was plenty of fun to have in Nox Astra. Xia already had a day planned out.

”I'll be waiting for them!" Xia told Satsuki in an excited tone over her device. ”You can count on me, Satsuki!"

When Lux finally arrived, Xia ran to hug her favorite big sister - her only big sister, really. The two were inseparable, and spent each day always thinking of one another. It was inevitable, really - the two had an ever present telepathic link to each other. Wherever they were, they'd always have someone with them. It was a perfect, unbreakable bond. Not even horribly burnt fish could ruin what they had.

”You'll get there, Xia. Don't push yourself, okay?"

Xia wanted to push herself, but she accepted the head rub from her sister. She always liked receiving them from her, even when they were children, back in the days of Praetora. Xia hoped that forever and always, Xianata would be her primary and top priority. Was that bad? Was it possessive? Maybe, but it was what she felt, and she'd be honest to those feelings. They were, after all, sisters. Xia was happily humming to herself, scheduling times and appointments for various arcades and karaoke places and a nice fancy restaurant while Lux went to make a call to Joshua White.

Reyna was confused. Like? The child liked her? "Reyna is confused," she murmured. Had it really been so long since she had felt a touch of someone's warmth that she couldn't believe anyone would like her? Let alone want to be with her. Reyna tilted her head to the side in confusion, trying to remember but it was painful. Flames, death, fear, it was all she could recall. The actual details were blurred but there was a lot of rage and it made her whimper in pain. She backed away from the girl, tilting her head to the side in question.

"Reyna doesn't remember giving you her name." She replied, one of her ears flopping over like an adorable puppy. Reyna went back to drinking, noticing that the girl came closer. She stopped a few feet behind her and Reyna turned, water dripping from her mouth. She wiped it on the back of her arm, a streak of dirt smudged on her skin. Reyna was incredibly dirty, she hadn't brushed her hair in years. She wasn't someone who belonged in a society, much less in a ruler's house.

The girl offered Reyna a place at her side. Ura, she called herself, saying that if Reyna wanted, she could return with her. She promised food, lots of it, and plenty of adventures. Reyna frowned, "Reyna has to ask Mr. Mittens." He wouldn't want her to leave, Reyna would miss him too though. Reyna moved out of ear shot from ura, placing Mr. Mittens down. "But if Reyna leaves, who's going to protect you?" She asked and the cat didn't answer, which was expected of an inanimate toy. "Reyna will miss you too," she whispered. Mittens couldn't come of course, he belonged to the desert, a lost toy that had been claimed by the waves of sand, a casualty of the destruction of humanity.

Reyna placed Mr. Mittens in the hut she had been using for shelter for years, tucking a pelt around him. Reyna returned to the girl, sitting in front of her and nodding her head. "Reyna and Mittens agreed, it's time for Reyna to go."

Urara was confused, but... well, Rey-Rey was a dog girl, after all. Maybe they weren't super aware of their talking habits! That made Urara feel fuzzy inside - she was smarter than this older girl, wasn't she? She wasn't smarter than many, so it felt nice that she could beat someone! Urara felt cool and superior and really awesome. Wasn't it befitting of a master - if that's what she was? Why did she have to be a master over Rey-Rey, though? Ura wanted them to be equal friends, to be able to have fun together. But Rey-Rey might not want to be friends yet, maybe. She might try to escape, so Urara figured a master-pet type friendship would have to work for the time being.

Rey-Rey mentioned something about talking to the toy thing Ura stole earlier, and Urara nodded respectfully. Saying goodbye to one friend was serious, after all, even if the friend was just a toy. Urara was smart, she knew that even if it was a toy there was still the emotional connection! Rey-Rey must have been lonely here for a long time, so Ura decided that she wouldn't let Rey-Rey feel such things anymore! From the color of the sky, chances are the people back at New Praetora would still want to force Urara into a meeting, and well, she didn't wanna! Nuh uh, no way! Urara still wanted to have fun, she still wanted to avoid responsibilities. Who needs stupid things like council meetings, anyways? That's sooo lame! There's much funner ways to spend time, like hunting down bad people in the desert! Bad people like that stupid Luxara, or maybe those weird people that liked to nab little kids and take them far away as slaves. Urara gave a brief thought to that one mercenary from a long time ago who called himself Eucliffe or something. Wasn't hunting bad people something he liked to do? Maybe Ura could meet him again on this new adventure?

"Are you ready?" Urara asked, voice quieter and calmer, respectful of the parting-of-friendship ceremonies. She even felt a little emotional, a little sad that it had to happen like this. How sad must Rey-Rey feel about this separation? Rey-Rey seemed ready to go, though, so Urara gathered up her stuff into her bag and slung it over her shoulder, excited for the adventure to begin.

"Ura thinks we should go to White City!" Urara said with a bright smile. She had some money so they could buy food stuff there, if they wanted. More importantly was that Urara wanted to show Rey-Rey a big city before they went to hunt bad people! "It's a really big city and it's white, too! Isn't that a surprise?" Urara giggled, then held her hand out for Rey-Rey to touch. "Hold my hand. Urara has a power that can make us go super fast really far! It's very fun!"

Urara took one last glance at the oasis, then turned her gaze to the far off yet still visible large dome in the distance. It was blurry, almost impossible to make out, but that was their destination. "If Rey-Rey wants, we can come visit this oasis again to see Mr. Mittens whenever. Not every byebye has to be forever!"

Reyna nodded her head, giving one last glance at Mr. Mittens. "Yes, Reyna would like that."She had listened to Ura speak of a white gleaming city, aptly named White City. Reyna thought about it, did she want to go there? It was a new city, a new start. "Reyna will go." She decided, Ura held out a hand. Did she want Reyna to give her paw? Reyna took Ura's hand and off they went, shooting towards a city at the speed of light.

When the world stopped moving. Reyna felt sick. She was wobbly all over and standing on twos was no good. She got down on fours, yes, that was much better. Reyna looked around, the city streets spotless, towers spiraling high in gleaming shades that seemed to reflect off the light of the sun. Everything was too bright too new; whenever someone drew too close Reyna would hiss, attempting to hide behind Ura. People looked at them curiously; they were whispering but Reyna could hear it, her large ears picking up even the most minute of sounds.

After living for who-knows-how-long in the desert, this was a major sensory overload. She whimpered, hiding her head beneath her hands and flattening her ears against her dirty hair. Someone approached the two, a man in a uniform. He looked down at the kid and put his hands on his hips. "I'm sorry to bug you ladies, but your friend can't go around in merely underwear." He took off his uniform jacket, using it to cover the girl huddled on the floor. "There's plenty of clothing shops down that way." He pointed to the fashion district, kneeling down to scratch behind Reyna's ears.

Reyna mewled, wriggling at the pleasure of scritches. Her tail swished, excited and pleased. "That's quite an unusual pet fox you've got." He chuckled and stood, "You can just drop the jacket off at any security post, it'll find it's way back to me." Reyna watched him go from underneath the safety of it. She looked at the jacket in confusion, wondering how you put it on. Reyna looked up at Urara from her seat on the floor. "Is Ura Reyna's master?"

Urara's eyes glowed a bright red from their usual brown, powers activating. In an instant, Urara and Reyna were at White City, full of opulence and galore that was unseen at her own home at New Praetora. They'd be back at the oasis one day, and find Mr. Mittens again, but for now, they had a new adventure ahead of them, the two new best friends! It was going to be fun, it was going to be awesome! Ura grinned cheerfully at her dog friend, only to see Rey-Rey being completely disoriented from the speed, maybe? That was weird! Urara didn't understand why Rey-Rey didn't look happy, wasn't the big city exciting and fun? "Rey-Rey, are you okay?" Ura asked, full of concern and worry. What if she needed a new boost of funness? It would be so easy for Ura to just look into her eyes, make Rey look back into her own and turn on the fun button. She could, she could! Would that make Reyna happier?

"Well, this is White City!" Urara said, trying to force as much enthusiasm as she could, gesturing at the pearly buildings and marble sheen of everything, as well as the really tall tower glimmering up at them from above. Urara pointed up top with an enthusiastic smile. "Ura was up there before, she was!" Urara said with gusto, pumping both fists, ignoring the whispers of the crowds of people, the boring people that didn't understand adventure. "A man named Joshua White lives there, and he's really cool! But he's also boring and talks about things Urara doesn't really understand. What's a Sticks, anyways, and why is he trying to do something about it?" Urara laughed, like a wind on a chime as the two walked through the city. That was when an officer interrupted the two on their way, saying stuff that Urara suddenly remembered - cheeks flushing - and she held the jacket sleeves out, pointing to the inside holes for Rey-Rey to pull her arms through. "That's how you do it." Urara said softly. "Ura's sorry, I forgot about clothes for you! Let's go shopping!"

When Rey-Rey asked if she was the master, Ura knew how she wanted to answer. "Yes, but firstly and most importantly, we're friends!" Urara said, scritching Rey's ear like the officer did, wondering if she liked it. Urara then touched Reyna's wrist, sending the two flying (at a slower speed) to the fashion district. However when she saw the price tags...

"No! No! This is dumb, it costs too much, no way!" Urara's face scrunched up as she grabbed a whole bunch of clothes without thinking. She didn't have that much, that was dumb! What is wedding stuff, anyways?! People started chasing though, they really did want to start chasing them, yelling at them and stuff! Urara giggled, touching Rey-Rey's wrist. "Ura's sorry, maybe White City was too exciting for you. Does Rey-Rey want to see Ura's home? It's more quiet and smaller, promise!"

Ura's eyes glowed red, preparing to activate at Rey's permission.

Ura answered yes, then scritched behind her ears. Reyna's tail wagged faster, an odd sound almost resembling a purr coming from her parted lips. Reyna didn't like the jacket, it was hot and stiff and smelled of the man who last wore it. "Reyna forgives Master." Reyna replied, still not used to the speeding bullet thing. They were in the fashion district, a place as seamless as the rest of White City. People didn't seem to like the two so much, they avoided them, going around them. Reyna followed Ura into a store, who picked out clothing, then looked at the price tag and in a fit of rage dumped all the clothing on the floor. Was she making a bed?

Reyna sat on top of the pile, walking in circles a few times and laying down. From her spot Reyna watched as Ura went about tearing the clothing from every hanger, disposing them onto the ground. A woman shooed Reyna away, out of the store and Ura was closely behind. The next few stores resulted in the same thing and soon, they were being chased. Reyna abandoned the jacket, it was much too restricting anyways. She ran behind Ura on all fours, wondering if they had done something wrong.

Ura apologized and Reyna sat on her hind, using her leg to scratch. "Reyna doesn't care." She replied, shaking her head. Ura asked if she wanted to go to her home now and Reyna sat up, nodding her head eagerly. "Yes, Reyna very much wants to see Master Ura's home." She put her hand in Urara's and the two shot off once more, speeding towards Urara's home.

At Rey's permission, Urara activated her powers, sending them back in the direction of New Praetora, her home. It was a small, quaint little place, far away from any silly things like war and stuff that bothered other people. No, no one wanted to fight with New Praetora, because it was just oh so strong! And with Rey-Rey on the team, it was probably going to be even stronger, definitely, absolutely! And, well, Ura felt a little warm thing inside of her belly when Rey-Rey called her master. She liked it in a weird way she never noticed before!

Finally they were back at New Praetora - well, the first time, for Rey-Rey. She was greeted by... well, surprisingly, nothing. It was completely empty, something was wrong. There was a battle here, there was blood and a few dead bodies and then emptiness. Something was clearly wrong, and the joy form Ura's eyes faded into something darker, more sinister. She grabbed Rey-Rey-'s hand gently. "This is New Praetora..." Ura said, a hushed whisper. "But the people are gone! There's supposed to be a lot of kids and some bigger people and miltiary people who fight for Ura and - and they're gone, Ura doesn't understand." As irresponsible and childish Ura was, she was still a a ruler and a daughter of Uralaiya. Distress and determination shone in her eyes - these were the people she promised to protect! Ura wasn't going to let them down! Ura led Rey-Rey to the Coliseum House, the big building where she lived and had boring council meetings and stuff. She knocked on the door, finding it barricaded.

"Go away!" A desperate, sad voice cried out. "You already stole the children, just leave us alone!"

"Stole the children?" Urara had become uncharacteristically serious now, anger building deep inside of her. Someone was stealing her people, her friends? That wasn't okay, that was wrong. She couldn't just let this happen, no way! After a quick talk, Urara was pointed in the direction they came from and they slavers or kidnappers or whatever seemed to be headed towards... White City. This wasn't right, it couldn't be! Urara wasn't happy at all. "Rey-Rey, let's go. There's some bad people for us to punish!"

After grabbing Rey's hand again, Ura sped off in the direction of the bad people, eventually finding footsteps. They were getting closer, closer, and the girl wasn't going to let the kids of New Praetora get kidnapped like that! There was no way she would ever let that happen! Eventually Urara caught up to them and was about to attack when she saw how afraid and scared the little kids were. Unacceptable! Urara's eyes glowed red. No one hurts her people, no way! Absolutely not!

"Oh, it's the kid ruler of Prae." The leader laughed, holding a gun of sorts. "You'd make a fine addition to our little auction. And that fox too!" Raucous, perverted laughter. But Urara was grinning, eyed glowing bloody crimson. "Rey, if you can kill them, Ura will call you a good dog! A good girl, and give you one of Urara's favorite things! It's called a cookie, and it's special!" Urara pointed at the kids, tied up and shivering, crying. "Save the little people, okay? Let's kill the bad people together!"

Almost without warning, Urara scratched behind Rey's ear again, and then adctivated her powers, shooting the dog girl as a cannonball directly into the group of bad guys.

They shot once more and Reyna felt it even worse than before, the dizziness that came with being cannon balled by a single touch. Urara seemed proud, when they stopped, Reyna had to wait for her head to cease its swirling. Ura spoke, saying that something wasn't right, there should have been more people, but the town square was empty, quiet. Reyna growled, sniffing the floor. She followed the trail of blood to a house where two bodies lay, slain. Their blood dribbled to the ground, pooling around them. Reyna returned to Ura's side, noticing a slight difference in her Master. It was an contrast in comparison to the giggly, happy go-lucky girl Urara had been only moments ago. "Reyna smells death." She followed Ura to a large building, where the smell of fear permeated their barricade. "Humans are frightened," Reyna sniffed at the ground, she didn't need to hear where they had gone, she could still smell it, the strange scent that lay over the town's sort of comforting scent.

"Reyna can smell them." She tried to get her Master's attention, but Urara had gotten it from the people behind the walls moments later. She said they should go to where the bad people were and punish them. Reyna grinned, revealing her sharp canines. "Reyna would like that very much." Then they were gone.

When they stopped, the men who smelled like death stood before them, grinning. Their scent tangoed with fear, most likely coming from the tied up humans in a truck, being transported like live stock. They leered at her minimal clothing, a sickening grin on the leader's face. Reyna growled, fur standing on ends. "Reyna will handle them!" She promised, claws and teeth ready as she was slingshot towards them. She sliced them to ribbons, a gleeful shriek coming from the fox. children screamed as they watched and Reyna suddenly remembered that these were innocents.

Her halting ended up in a hit to the head. She went flying into the back of the truck, leaving a Reyna shaped dent in the metal. "Now Reyna's really mad." She seethed, leaping once more. She bit and clawed and tore, reminded of the destruction of the cities she had brought to their knees. Leave one alive, Reyna realized, that way he could take the message back to his master that Urara was not someone to be messed with. "Has Reyna pleased Master?" The girl asked, tail wagging as she went to sit in front of her. The single remaining man coward, fleeing in terror. Reyna was covered in blood, but was smiling widely.

The City of White.

Isamu walked slowly down the street feeling rather worn out, his chest was a bit sore from that slug's fondling. He grumbled softly walking among the large crowds, he was honestly bored, killing these rich slavers wouldn't get him anywhere. Scythe was hungry too, come to think of it Isamu was rather hungry himself, how long had it been since he ate? He went into his favorite store in the fashion district, however something was definitely different today. Down by his feet was a girl rolling around in clothing but she was nude and seemed to be in some sort of fetish-animal play costume. Isamu was about to say something to her when she and her red-haired friend took off with the staff close on their heels. Isamu walked out of the store to observe the pursuit. Then out of nowhere they were slingshot away. He stood blinking as the staff went back inside grumbling angrily.

Isamu shook his head and took out a clipping he had about the nearby cities, observations some of his friends gathered for him, as he read he made his way over to a bus stop and sat down. Yes, just as I thought, that kid was New Praetora's ruler. . .Why was she here? More importantly why was she with a fetish-exhibitionist? It was all very confusing to him. Although it seemed like a lot of fun around her, maybe he'd make his way to this New Praetora and try to get on the child's good side, after all a little spontaneity in his life would be good. Plus maybe working for a rival city would lend itself to getting Isamu the type of deal he'd need to wipe out Joshua, the core of the evils in this hive of darkness of a city.

So with a new goal in his heart he set off, he supposed he'd just walk there, it would only be a few days journey. It would be worth it, just for excitement value alone, besides he needed to rest up a bit after the last kill anyway. So he started off on his way to New Praetora with high hopes and still an empty stomach.

Rey-Rey got to work, quickly tearing apart the slavers one by one. They tried to attack, to fight back against the beast of the desert, but nothing they did worked, and Rey demolished them, looking as if she was having the time of her life. Urara smiled, very impressed at her new best friend's skill and power. Ura herself joined the fight, aiming her foot out before shooting herself as a bullet, almost literally kicking a man's skull into shattered bone chunks, sending him flying into the air and back down to the ground, broken. More slavers tried to intercept but Ura sent one flying into another, and then both high into the air, both descending to their sandy deaths - or at least, that was the plan but Rey-Rey killed them too, showers of flesh and blood blanketing the field. Luckily Ura could shoot herself away from the blood but it seemed that Reyna enjoyed the sensation of gore on her skin. Even with Rey hitting the truck, she was still enough to kill everything with ease - leaving the traumatized children alive. This made Urara very happy as the last evil man escaped just barely with his life, running off like a pathetic coward.

"You're such a good girl, Rey-Rey!" Urara walked over to the blood stained fox, rubbing her head happily. She saved the children, even though they were terrified of their savior, they'd learn eventually! Rey-Rey is such a cool hero, isn't she? Urara hesitated for a split second, then decided. "Ura is going to hug you know, because Ura loves you! Thank you, Rey-Rey, for all the help! With that, Urara wrapped her arms around the pet-friend, squeezing their bodies together, not caring about the blood staining her own yellow sweater. Urara didn't care, because she was happy to have such a good friend.

Not soon after - it was another bullet trip for the kids in the truck to return home to their families, as well as for Urara and Reyna back to New Praetora, where Ura took the fox girl to the town square, advertising that she was the hero and saved everyone. Rey-Rey was showered in affection and praise, (and some even gave her food) and Urara couldn't be prouder. But there was still something that had to be done, of course, something that couldn't wait. "Let's go clean up!" Ura exclaimed, grabbing Rey-Rey's hand and almost dragging her to the hot springs New Praetora was famous for. It was warm, bubbly, steaming, and all for them! Urara quickly stripped, jumping into the water, before realizing that Rey-Rey might not really understand. "Rey-Rey, come in! It's warm and it's fun and it feels really good and relaxing! You deserve it for being a good girl! Next time we visit Mr. Mittens, do you think he will be proud of you?"

Reyna was very pleased with herself. The human arm of a man lay at her feet, a gift for Master. Urara seemed to ignore it though, instead, petting Reyna's head and saying she was going to hug her because she loved her. Love? That was a very confusing thing. That was something Reyna had neither felt nor received in centuries. It made her heart feel weird and she scratched at her chest. "Reyna isn't sure she likes this feeling." The girl confessed, "It feels like butterflies in Reyna's chest." She was much happier to receive ear scritches, or belly rubs, only five though, otherwise she'd bite.

Reyna trotted through the square on all four's beside Urara, who her people crowded around. Ura said that Reyna was something called a hero. "What is hero Master?" Reyna asked as people came from all around to cheer. She didn't like it, they were loud, and the sound hurt her ears. She would have to adjust to loud noises and bright colors once more, the desert mostly had a calm color scheme and the loudest sounds had been the howl of wind. These humans though, they scratched her ears, gave her gifts of food, laughed when she ate it hungrily. Even the children she had traumatized approached, handing Reyna little things like rocks to show their appreciation. Reyna couldn't eat rocks though. They were pretty, shiny, but Reyna had no real use for them.

Soon Reyna was forced to walk on twos when Urara took her hand. It felt weird, rarely something she ever had to do. She followed the Master though, her tail swishing curiously as they went. "Where is Master taking Reyna?" She asked, her question soon answered. "Clean up? Reyna is clean!" She protested but her cries seemed to fall on deaf ears. They were in some place weird, giant oasis with bubbles and steam. "Master is odd, this water is too hot for Reyna to drink." She shook her head, confused. Urara started taking off her clothes and Reyna looked up curiously. She watched as Urara jumped into the tub, splashing and freezing, then turning around, explaining. "Reyna isn't sure," she hesitated, at least until Urara mentioned Mr. Mittens, "Yes," She nodded her head, tail swishing once more, "Reyna thinks Mr. Mittens will be very pleased."

With that she took off her clothes and when her back was turned, one of Urara's workers threw it away. They couldn't exactly be called clothing, more like strips of dirty cloth she used to cover vital parts. Reyna dipped a foot, watching as the dirt moved. She slipped inside, stubborn layers of dirt clinging to her skin. Her tail soaked up water, becoming heavy. Reyna went under, coming back up, it was weirdly warm. "What is this water called?" Reyna asked, slowly touching the ground, realizing she could stand. She walked towards Urara, more dirt coming off. Reyna would need to be scrubbed by professionals if Urara hoped to get the girl clean.
