❝What I See In The Mirror❞

Eye Color:Image
Dark Blue

Hair Color:
Dark Brown

Height:
5'7

Body Markings:
none

Physical Description:Image
On the outset, it is clear by his clothing alone that Charlie isn't the type of guy to go around causing trouble, nor one of those jerks who play about, or going with the latest fashion. His clothing could be described as moderate, decent, with a plain t-shirt, jeans and hoodie, all plain or sometimes striped, giving their own impression of his character by not wearing anything offensive to others. His maintained hairline, despite it sometimes being out of line, his appropriate attire and no presence of facial hair which gives impression it has been maintained, gives the impression of what a tidy person he is, as well as his slim body which he no doubt keeps fit. His facial hair is not all that is maintained, as his eyebrows are also kept in line to make sure they are not bushy and to compliment his soft facial features, with all these components complimenting Charlie's good looks

❝Behind The Façade❞

Likes:Image
  • Keeping fit
  • Taking risks
  • Music
  • Competition
  • Being involved

Dislikes:
  • Being left out
  • Losing (but it happens XD)
  • Doing nothing
  • Being interrupted when he's doing something
  • Being told what to do (unless absolutely necessary)

Personality:Image
As aforementioned in what is conveyed in his appearance, he is an open guy who is tidy, clean and keeps his cool. All true. He takes things easy and not letting things get to him since to let others know what is needed to press your buttons simply screams out for them to be pressed, hence his way of avoiding such. However, though he tries to avoid them, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is complete success, since people can annoy him, but instead of unleashing his frustrations, he instead makes the best out of the situation to bring out his cocky nature, which he also does in general though it sounds more like sarcasm. What defines Charlie the most though, is his jumping at opportunities, his taking risk and his long-time companion, curiosity, so he is pretty daring and hence his abilities to play truth-or-dare pretty well without breaking a sweat, or at least that's what he says as 'the man' that he is, but on the whole, he is a friendly guy and likes to help people be involved since he doesn't like to be alone himself, so why should he allow others too. However, despite his confidence, sometimes it is over-confidence which leaves him to speak random to cover his tracks...

❝My Past and My Present❞

Image

Background:
Where to begin? obviously at the start, being born to his two parents Robert and Gwen of the Cooper family, living in Rochester in New York which he has been living in for his entire life. Course, at this point in time, Charlie is at a crossroads to decide what he wishes to do for his future and whatnot. During this time, he has met alot of people and gets along with people pretty well. Back in pre-school, he was screaming the place down, but in the years following, he began to trials towards restoration, leading to the cool nature that he embodies to this day, but the wild child still lives on with his gambles. Not that he does any gambling, though he certainly loves competition so if people want to bet on who will win the swimming competition, then who was Charlie to stand in their way, so he is pretty much smooth, and could also be said to be quite the smooth-talker also. Afterall, he is charismatic, easy to talk too and obviously dashing, though maybe he's a bit much too handle as others say, or is he too much to handle for himself, when is unable to stop his curiosity from finding out who this strange girl is who has moved in on his turf....

The night had just begun and all of a sudden on 136 Hardwick.st a moving truck pulled up on the left side of the street with a black mercedes pulling up right behind it. Out stepped an adult woman first and lastly a young teenage girl. She sat down on the lawn ignoring the look the woman whom appeared to be in her early thirties gave her an odd look before moving to the truck and lifted the door. The girl stood up suddenly and went into the house only to end up in her room. She opened the window and and stared out the window only to fing herself looking across at the other house.

The cool night breeze touched her face, blowing her blonde tresses back but of course she couldn't feel the coldness of the winds in early fall. Her eyes suddenly landed on a teenage male that lived across from her and it seemd to be his bedroom directly across from him. She didn't do anything and didn't change her blank expression once eyeing him.

Every day was the same old routine with getting up, doing his teeth, throwing on some clothes and being all in a rush, before taking it all nice and easy and cool as he entered the school grounds and mingled with his classmates. Charlie had quite a laid-back manner to show that nothing bothered him. Sure he'd work in class, but if there was a distraction from his work that screamed out for his attention, he'd take it. It was not that he didn't want to do his work, but he liked to know what was about him to feed his curiosity, and not to mention that every little helps when it came to gossip. He could hardly be called the 'go to' guy if he didn't know what was going off could he.

There were those who challenged him of course, see how far he would remain chilled out for, yet Charlie remained strong and passed such tests on both truth and dare, even wild dares like flirting with one of the teachers. Boy he could still remember that, before he called it a day and told her not to get any ideas. He had no problems playing around, and being the risk-taker he was, he felt anything was possible. To others though, he probably is quite a load to take on, perhaps even too much for himself, though he wouldn't accept that. Afterall, how can life be dull with someone who was energetic and wild as Charlie could be.

Nevertheless, it seemed today would run a little difference as he heard some noise outside his window, causing him to get up and find out what the ruckuss was about. As he did so, he spotted a delivery van which two men came out of as they begun to take out furniture into the house opposite. It seemed the Cooper's had a new neighbour, but something was up. For one, Mrs Jenkins was not her normal friendly self. He was expecting her to go out with a tray of cookies or a cake or something, but instead she just walked away. Maybe she just forgot her 'nice hat' and had just went back inside to get it, or something was strange to catch Mrs Jenkins on guard.

His eyes scanned the area until they connected with that of the new girl opposite who stood looking out her window as the breeze passed her and her hair fluttered with the wind. At that moment, it seemed that he was entranced by her, unable to look away, afraid that if he did so, he would not see her again. She was b, e, a, utiful, stunning, amazing, an angel! Course he could only see her only so much from this distance, but the way the wind had made her look even more so and how she stood elegantly, it just had to me. If you recall Cinderella and Prince Charming, and Rapunzel, they were called fairytales as such beauties and stories would not come into reality, but it seemed it had done so for Charlie.

Perhaps it was fated that the two would meet today, or just mere coincidence. "Hey bro!", he called out, "Do you.....believe in angels?", as he realised how weird it sounded as he then added, "Don't say anything just yet, come see....", wishing for a second opinion to make sure the beauty he saw was certainly there, and if he was imagining it, then his brother was the best one to knock him out of his senses.

Katherine had continued eyeing the male that lived across from her. Due to her enhanced senses she heard something along the lines of the word Angel but didn't hear the rest as the wind hit her again and her yelled. "Katherine, come get your things sweetie." she said and Katherine sighed before leaving her room and heading downstairs and outside. Once eyeing the truck she quickly grabbed the oldest looking of the suitcases. The suitcase held contents that wer precious to her and she wouldn't allow anyone to touch it.

Katherine walked into the house normally but made it to her room and back downstairs at an animalistic. After going back outside she grabbed more of her things ignoring the look her mother had given her again when she came back out. Her mother was sure that no one had saw her run that fast but for her to grab a suitcase like that and return so quickly may seem very abnormal to the neighbors. With that in mind when Katherine was inside the ruck getting more of her things her mother had approached her and whispered about her actions warning of the possible danger that could cause if the neighbors were watching.

Katherine didn't respond and headed out of the truck and back into the house. At what her mother had said the boy next door popped into her head. She shrugged it off. Though he was cute she hoped he didn't think much of it and just thought that she was rushing to get all her things in. After a few minutes she had all her things in and plopped down on her bed which was next to the first of the two windows in her room. She turned n her side towards the window and eyed the boy again. She remained emotionless. Over the last few centuries she learned not to keep friends because if she hadn't she wouldn't be living an eternity of hell. Katherine has always felt she was better off after becoming immortal and knowing that boy was human made her want to keep her distance but also long for some human contact after being isolated from hmans for so long.

With his handsome looks, Charlie was well acquainted with the ladies. Well, at least some of them were acquainted, with a few that were more before they left him high to dry, or was it him leaving them to dry. Well, the better answer was to say it was him, as what guy does want to be dumped by a girl, and a guy would be totally out of his mind to admit to everyone that his girlfriend dumped in. His eyes had focused on this particular girl though, as if he had never seen a girl before, which obviously he had on numerous occassions, but this girl was different, as not only did her beauty just shine in the window, but her beauty radiated off her and somehow it has took hold of Charlie and wished to draw him in.

Charlie really didn't know what to say, nor did he know what action he should take. Afterall, she was new in town and it made him wonder what she was thinking, wondering why he was staring at her constantly, but it must not bother her. If it had bothered her, she would of closed her windows and prevented him from doing so, but instead, as his eyes were drawn to hers, her eyes were drawn to him. There just had to be a connection there, even if they had never met. Just then he heard his brother behind him, "What is it now?", causing Charlie to turn away from the girl, "Honest bro, you have never seen such a beauty. She's got to be an angel. Look!".

However, when the brothers looked out the window, she was gone. "She was THERE! I tell ya! She really was! I'm not kidding! I've never been so serious in my life, she really was there", but her disappearance had caused his brother to doubt his story, "She'll be back, I promise. Just give her time. She's probably gone to the loo". "She can't be so 'heavenly' then...", he commented, causing Charlie to roll his eyes, "You'll see what I mean.....look, she's just helping her mom move in, and then she'll be back. I swear she is the most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes across".

However, such a statement caused some more doubt, "Don't you say that about all the girls you take a fancy of...", but Charlie was losing his patience as he watched her enter in with a case before coming back after mere seconds had passed to finish off, no doubt to drop the bags inside so they could get settled rather than going up and down the stairs so many times. Maybe he could go over there and help them out, as he then pulled out a pair of binocculas out of his drawer to see her even more clearly, "She's back and on her bed and still looking at me. That's gotta mean something surely", but his brother had walked away, causing him to sigh as he put the binocculas' away and observed her with his own eyes, debating if he should go and meet her now, or wait till tomorrow.

Could he hold his desire to meet her for so long? Then again, if he rushed it, he'd meet her, and then not a word would be able to come out of his mouth, so the answer for now was to take it slow.....

(OOC: Not sure if you wanted their meeting straight away or not, so left open-ended and npc'ed the brother in parts. Forgive the delay though I try to reply asap, but do aim to be active and online every other day to get posts done to fit in my schedule offline also)

Katherine had kept her gaze with the boy for a few moments longer before turning over on the opposite side from the window. She needed to stay focused for now. She and her family had come here in search of a new start...again. Right now she doubted it'd be good to let some good-looking guy swoon her and end up trusting a human. That wasn't a risk she wanted though she wanted human contact after so long she didn't think it smart to trust them now. She sighed before sitting up.

From what her mother explained they'd be going over to one of the neighbor's houses tomorrow. Katherine didn't see it necessary but her mother wanted to seem normal and friendly to the neighbors so she didn't bother arguing with her. Though a part of her wished it was the household across from her so she could at least meet the boy that grasped her attention. At the thought it sweeled a small sliver of hope for her. She could at least meet him and hopefully not come off as a freak.

As morning came Katherine awoke. She only slept for a few hours as she spent the majority of the night unpacking her things and setting up her rooms. It was about 10 am and it was Sunday. She had quickly showered and brushed her teeth before getting dressed. She brushed through her hair and left it loose. Finally when she saw it was about twelve-thirty she went downstairs. Her mother seemed to have just finished baking. "Cookies mother how cliched." Katherine commented and was resonded with her mother rolling her eyes. "Oh well Katherine this century is filled with cliches I just hope our neighbors like them." her mother finished speaking and grabbed the plate before handing them to Katherine.

"You can give it to them." she said and it was now Katherine's turn to roll her eyes. Her mother was acting like and all around american nrmal house-wif but it was only farther from the truth. The blonde Italian woman walked to the door with her katherine and her husband following suite. After a minute or two they made up to the house directly across from theirs and katherine once in many years felt nervousness rise up in her. Her mother knocked and Katherine stayed silent unfamiliar with the feeling of being nervous.

Unfortunately he was unable to show his brother what he had seen, but whether she was a figment of his imagination or whether she was indeed real, she was real to him in either way. He had come across other girls before, but none had truly grabbed his attention and put him in some sort of trance as the girl across the road, or the girl in the window. Afterall, you did hear about the stories of ghosts roaming in a house and that there were those who could see the ghosts which were usually in the form of a pretty girl, could the girl across the road be the same? Charlie of course did not believe it, though it was a shame when the girl pulled away from the window, but her image had been implanted in his mind.

Charlie didn't know exactly what to make of her, as so far, she was just another pretty face but in her case, an extremely pretty face. What he didn't know was what the girl was actually like, as he had met pretty girls before but they were cruel and mean as appearances were pretty much misleading. What he had gathered so far was that she was the quiet type, as she didn't go straight up to the window and wave or come over to say hello. What also was noticed was that she seemed to like attention, as she had stared back at him for some time before she disappeared. Maybe she was a little shy also, since she enjoyed the attention but did not respond to it. Charlie could only hope to actually meet her physically.

Charlie was pretty confident with his laid back manner and keeping a level head, geared for whatever may come and to remain ready. However, it was the actual meeting that he was slightly worried about, seeing as all he had done was stare at her, and then used binocculas, who to some would see such a move as disturbing, so he hoped that the girl would not be keeping her distance from him as he really did wish to get to know her, if what he saw was indeed true. The girl was pretty much who he thought about since he woke up, since clearly she and her family had been busy unpacking yesterday, which would mean he would either see her in school tomorrow if she had enrolled, or earlier, depending if he has the urge to go round.

Being a Sunday, Charlie took the opportunity to sleep in as per usual, before being woken up by his brother and having a shower as a result and hearing the door close downstairs, his brother now off to work. It was always like his brother to keep himself busy, but then again, he was working close to other girls and he was getting paid, so that was lust, greed and pride all rolled into one, and his parents thought he was a good boy. Well, at least that's how Charlie seen him, but the brothers did get along well. His father had woken up early to go to work also which left just him and his mother in, and as per usual, his mother was busy doing her cleaning. For his mother, Sunday was the opportunity to clean, while for him, it was relaxing.

However, just as he was drying himself, he heard a knock on the door. "Mom....There's someone at the door.....", he called, before she simply relied, which he assumed was just to get on his nerves on his resting day, "Why don't you answer it dear? These clothes won't dry themselves". What about him?! Having no choice, he quickly put on his boxers and jeans, before tucking his shirt in his jeans and using the towel to cover his shoulder, as he rushed downstairs. Approaching the door, he saw three figures outside, though he wasn't sure who they actually were as this wasn't usual for a Sunday.

Nevertheless, he opened the door wide when his eyes were immediately drawn to the girl who he had saw last night, and here he was standing half-naked to her. What a start.....but to avoid complications, he instead diverted his attention to the cookies she held and then to the taller figures behind her who were no doubt her parents, causing him to smile as he focused on them, as he used one hand to use the towel to dab his face to cool him down a little. If there was anyone better to welcome them, it was him since he was kind and friendly so it was not so hard to be polite, despite his appearance, "Please excuse my appearance.....You must be the new neighbours across the way, welcome to Rochester", as he smiled and held his hand out to greet them, before using his back to open the door, "Do come in", trying to ignore the fact that the girl was there, but it was hard when she shone in the corner of his eye.

Katherine reamined completely calm even when the boy answered...half-naked. She knew her father wasn't the happiest about that but her mother didn't care much. As soon as the invitation inside was heard the went in. Being a vampire some things to fiction were true like the fact that they had to be invited inside, a stake to the wooden heart could kill them but only those things. The sun didn't burn them to a crisp or ashes but after first being transformed it irritated the hell out of them. Holy water was something they could drink so it didn't bother them and of course they needed blood often to stay strong though right now none of them were too worried about it. "It's fine and thank you." Katherine's mother stated to the boy's apology and greeting.

"We brought these here for all of you. They're homemade." her mother added with a smile before Katherine handed the plate of cookies over to the boy. As usual Katherine and her father remained passive and nonchalant without uttering a word to the others they've just met. It wasn't them trying to be rude it was just them being their natural instinctive selves. Katherine was still nervous but her father was being his usual self as he hasn't spoken at all and had yet to say anything for his own reason. Katherine didn't know what to say to the boy.

Last night she for some reason actually though about him and hoped to meet him. Those thoughts were interrupted when her mother announced her soon enrollment to the local school. Now she wondered if she'd see him there. What would she say? What should she say now? It all seemed a bit overwhelming but it was only until she graduated and then they would have to move after that summer because others would begin to notice how any of them ,especially Katherine who would supposedly be 18, had yet to grow. Some reason or another she looked up at the boy as her mother began introducing all of them. "I'm Victoria, this is my husband Jackson, and my daughter Katherine." she said happily. Right now Katherine had yet to say something and was unsure what to say still.

Charlie did not mind walking around half-naked at all. Afterall, he had the looks for it and looked superb, or was this him just being vain. Such thoughts indicated such was possible, especially since there was no reaction from the girl to him, though she really had no other choice, especially being round her parents and this being her first day. Parents did get in the way with quite a few things but they meant well, even if they were stopping you in your tracks, so it made him wonder what she really thought. Afterall, she had been staring at him too last night, but between the two of them and having the company of their parents, they managed to put the events of last night to the side and hide the tension that could of been there otherwise, so he was thankful for the visit, as well as see what her parents were like.

It still made him wonder why Mrs Jenkins did not welcome them as she usually does to people last night, as they certainly seemed kind enough to him, especially to bring cookies and accepted his apology, "It's fine and thank you". First impressions meant alot so he hoped that he hadn't made a bad impression as most who walk around like this all the time were pretty much big-heads and know-it-alls in the sense that they believe they are, not that they actually were because they were right jerks, but they were able to have a girl under each arm all the time. If the girls had a choice of a fit guy playing basketball or rugby, or a guy who just swims and takes it easy, clearly the more adventurous of the two would win, despite the risks that Charlie often undergoes.

"We brought these here for all of you. They're homemade", her mother told him with a smile, before the girl handed the plate over, as he was tempted to take the cookies with one hand holding the corner and the other hand at the base of the plate after touching her hand to make sure she was real, but he decided against...they had only just met, at least face-to-face, and boy she looked so much prettier than she did with her looks even more defined as Charlie took the plate of cookies and smiled, "Thank you very much", before the mother then introduced them.

"Katherine", what a pretty name, were the thoughts that popped to mind, before replying back with a smile, "Pleased to meet you all. I'm Charlie. My mom's just hanging the washing out at the moment so she'll be in soon, her name's Lisa. My dad Matthew is at work and my brother, Ryan is also out, but while your waiting, can I get either of you a drink at all?", he asked as he motioned them to come into the kitchen since it was alot bigger than the hallway and they could sit down, as would be rude to accept cookies and then close the door and gobble them all.

It wasn't long after that, that Lisa returned back inside as she put the washing basket into the cupboard before entering the kitchen to see that they had guests, and glancing round the room to make sure Charles was there as he saw him at the kettle and smiled, as she approached the mother with a beaming smile, "Tea for me too dear", she called back before holding her hand out to the mother, "Hi I'm Lisa. You must be the new neighbours that moved in. If you need anything, just let us know, as I see Charles has you all sorted out so far", knowing full well Charlie disliked using his full name but Lisa would use it anyway and imagining him looking up to the wall as he usually does.

Pulling back, she pulled up a chair and sat down, "You must of travelled far to arrive late, or I would of sent my husband to help you. Might I ask where you came from, and what brought you to Rochester? oh..", as she turned to the daughter, "..and I suppose you'll be going to the same school as Charles...It's quite a big place but I'm sure that Charles can help you out if you need it. Certainly has changed from when I went there". Charlie sighed before turning slightly, "Mom...please...They can't answer when you asking questions 20 miles per hour. Give them a chance will ya", and seeing as she had called him 'Charles', he turned to them, "Sorry about her, she gets a little too excited", before smiling and returning his attention to making drinks......

Katherine had stayed quiet until a woman whom she deduced was Charlie's mom came in. Instantly she saw her mother's face light up. Katherine could only imagine those two become fast friends. "I'm Victoria nice to meet you." her mother shook the woman's hands as did her father only replying with his full name which slightly surprised Katherine as most called him Jack but she didn't dwell on that too much. "Oh the questions ar quite alright. Really my daughter loves telling the story." her mother motioned to her earine a confused glance from Katherine that screamed 'I do?' as a silent question to her but she turned back to Lisa. "Well we came from Florida. Due to dad's job we decided it was best to come here where our family actually started." Katherine told the truth.

Though the time period was much different the story was true. "I actually will be attending the local school. I heard it's pretty exciting." Katherine added. She had been 'home-schooled' for a bit or at least thats what everyone was told in truth Katherine had been to chool so many times she felt she needed to take a break from it for a few years. She didn't need it really seeing as how she's graduated so many times from the time where girls were actually allowed to attend school fully but of course she wouldn't admit that. When the tea was ready she and her family drunk it though they of cours couldn't tast it but complimented Charlie on it anyway. "So what does your husband do?" her father asked and this it really shocked Katherine though her fcial expression didn't show it.

Her father wasn't very social at all so when he actually asked Lisa a question it surprised her. Victoria didn't say anything about it but she as well was a bit surprised. "You're home is lovely by the way." she added truthfully. Katherine remained quiet like before. She was actually thinking about the fact that she'd be attending school for probably the umpteenth time but this time she guessed it would stand out to her more as she'd be attending it with the handsome boy she just met. She had to admit she never met someone with looks like his in her long time living so it was different. He was different. He stood out to her in more ways than one.

Last night, his brother scorned him that he was imagining the whole thing, that he was simply dreaming up things that he wished to see. Charlie had tried to prove him wrong by showing him, but the girl had gone. Another opportunity to show he was right, was right here and right now, but such an opportunity was dashed that Ryan was not in the right place at the right time. Being the risky devil that he was, Charlie did not require facts and evidence as Ryan did, he took it all in and then made a decision based on instinct and followed his gut feeling. They had quite the relationship, the two brothers, as they got along well as they supported each other, but they also were capable of getting into arguments like any other sibling rivalry.

Even if they had a on/off relationship, he would not know how to cope if it had just been him as a single child. First thoughts would be that the child would be spoilt and turn rotten like those bullies from school, but not all were like that. It made him wonder how Katherine managed growing up with no siblings to back her up, not to mention her moving around the globe, "Well we came from Florida. Due to dad's job we decided it was best to come here where our family actually started". Charlie did not recognise the family, so perhaps she was referring to her parents in their younger days so maybe her mother knew. Then again, his mother wasn't exactly the brightest spark if he was honest, but he loved her all the same, despite her teasing and especially calling him 'Charles' when she knows he doesn't like to be called that because it sounds too old-fashioned. Charlie was cool, Charles was not. Simple.

"I actually will be attending the local school. I heard it's pretty exciting", he then heard her same as he felt all warm inside. Now Ryan surely would see that the girl he was so fascinated by and that he certainly was not making the whole thing up. Even if she was made up, there was no laws that a boy could not dream was there, but the fact that she was real, and that she was going to his school too made him really happy, but he contained his joy, as he concentrated on stirring the tea before passing the tea to each of them. Afterall, he had plenty of practise of making it since his mother tells him to make one every five minutes or so, though such is an exaggeration but it certainly was numerous times in the day and disturbing him, hence why he likes to go out to avoid playing butler.

Charlie simply has a hard time saying 'no' since he don't like to let people down, hence what brought on the risky side of him and doing what is asked from him, even if it meant flirting with a teacher. However, once the task was done, he was sure to put things back in prospective and keep his dignity intact. As far as dignity goes right now, here he was standing there, half naked with his chest on show and infront of her parents. Ever since looking out the window, he had planned to get to know her and hopefully ask her out when the time was right should she be going to his school, but the whole impression thing went out the window by how he had portrayed himself, so he hoped his general friendly demeanor would cover it where his shirt did not.

When Charlie has his mind set on something, he would surely do it. However, sometimes he is in conflicts with himself. The way to describe it would be like the cartoons where a character is debating what to do and then a angel and demon version of themselves in minature form appear at the left and right and put words into his head about what he should do. Such a case was present when he took the cookies from Katherine as the demon version was telling him to be a man and stroke her head while the angel version told him to be respectable, his decision going with the latter since he wasn't a total bad-boy. Even now he was debating what to do since it would be rude to leave his guests but also bad in remaining as he was.

His thoughts were however broken off as her father asked, "So what does your husband do?" before her mother then added, "You're home is lovely by the way". With his mother here, there was not alot he could really add anyway. "Why thank you, I do my best" as her smile widened, "As for my husband, he's a detective inspector in the big city....what can I say, love a man in uniform". He rolled his eyes in response before interjecting, "Mom, I'm going upstairs now to finish off..", he said as he begun to exit, "Okay dear", she responded as Charlie made his exit, but then he didn't fancy leaving her stuck with adult conversation either which could go on for awhile if her mother was as much a gossip as his, as he then closed his eyes and told himself to man up, before re-entering the kitchen and poking his head round as he then added, "Sorry...was just wondering if Katherine wanted to see what we're doing at school at the moment so she knows what to expect tomorrow....", looking from Katherine to her mom to see if it was alright before he heads upstairs to his room.

Katherine had made it a point to pay attention to the conversation at hand but when it came to her mother talking to another woman it could go on for a while. She had heard his mother call him his formal name and wondered why he'd rather be called Charlie than Charles. At least now she may have someone to talk to at school. He seemed pretty nice and as far as she knew she kept the secret of her true species pretty well. If she wanted to she could scare off a lot of people by reveiling what she really was. For some reason she didn't want to scare him off. Yes she was tired of remaining isolated from people. Now it just so happened for her to meet a very handsome teenage boy that is her neighbor but she also needed to keep herself in check.

If she isn't careful she could lose it and someone may end up dead because of her need for blood but she wouldn't dwell on that now. For now Charlie offered to get her away from the adult conversation to find out what she'd be focusing on in school. Her mother didn't hesistate and agreed but her father was indeed but silently hesistant. She stood up and left with him happy to get away from the adults but nervouse about going to Charlie's room.

He was, honestly, not really sure what response he would get. Afterall, they had only just met him, he was shirtless, and now he was asking if they would let their beautiful daughter into his bedroom. Charlie simply acted on impulse. Sometimes he acted straight away, and sometimes it took a bit of time like when he had re-entered the kitchen to make sure to invite her. He had escaped the whole adult dreary conversation, and no matter how obedient and respectful a child is towards their parents, it does not mean they wish to listen to them all day long and talk about things that did not matter.

After his request, he looked towards the parents and it seemed her mother was allowing it and then moments later, it seemed she had decided for herself that she could go. Charlie really wasn't quite sure what to say. The night before he couldn't keep his eyes off her, and now here she was in the flesh before him and he could hardly say a word. Concocting somewhat of a plan, he decided it would be best to try and ignore her and keep telling himself that she was only his neighbour, that she had no feelings to him and that there was some other guy. It seemed a perfect plan to try and dismiss her, but it was difficult with her next to him and the way she looked back at him last night.

"so...um...what were you working on back in Florida, and how was it over there?", he asked once he got his words out, as a way to get her to speak and see how the schooling was over in Florida. There was a clear distinction between the two places, as Rochester was near the built up city, whereas Florida was near the beach, and where there was a beach, there was beach boys and guys with tans which was probably what she favoured more. However, despite Charlie trying to find ways to stop thinking about her and trying to believe that she was with someone else, it only made him envious, yet he remained calm as he awaited her answer as he used his towel to dry himself. She had already seen this much so didn't really matter now.

Katherine followed him and waited to see if he was going to say anything before she did and when he did she smiled. "Well I was actually homeschooled in Florida so I studied different things then the regular school curriculum."she explained. While he was drying himself she actually felt bad for lying. He seemed nice and friendly but she had no other choice. Where she lived in Florida didn't leave much animal only mainly humans so that created a problem for Katherine and her family. What was she going to do? So after only a few months of being there they could no longer handle it and Katherine had attacked someone unintentionally. She hated doing that so afterwards and after making sure the person actually survived she and her family left.

That is now why she's here now in front of a very good-looking teenage boy whom he guessed had a girlfriend who probably would not be happy with him having another girl in his room but it was better than being downstairs in the middle of an adult conversation that she had nothing to do with. Katherine was disappointed about that actually but didn't show it. Right now she wasn't even sure why she was and had been thinking of him. He was another human who wouldn't be able to relate or care for a monster like herself. It's like that with many humans and thats why she and her family refuse to get close to them. Wuy they're even at their neighbors' home she hadn't the slightest clue but she couldn't say she was mad about it.

Its only she was sure Charlie had lived here with his family a long time if not his whole life. He had his own life, his own friends, and his own things she was sure he'd rather be worried about. "So what is it thay's being studied now in school?" she had kept her gaze down and away from him. The chance of them becoming actual friends was slim but she hated that fact. Unfortunately its just a routine for her. He was being nice that was all. It didn't mean he wanted to be friends with her or anything and that possibility hit her hard and she disliked it so much.

It was the right thing to do to get Katherine away from a boring dreary adult conversation since she did not have free roam of the house as he did, but after he had managed that, he no longer had chores or anything of the sort to distract him, nor other people to keep his mind off her as she was right by him and he wasn't quite sure how to act. To start off with, he had yet to dry his body and put his shirt on, so he could occupy his mind with that for awhile, but he did not take ten minutes to dry himself, so he had to occupy his mind in some other way, especially since she may be here for a little while while the adults gossiped.

"Well I was actually homeschooled in Florida so I studied different things then the regular school curriculum", she explained. It was quite intriguing why she was homeschooled rather than being taught publically than everyone else, but then again, people tended to do better that way since those that were homeschooled did not have to worry about bullying and peer pressure and distraction, all of which Charlie was used to and well accustomed with, except bullying since he got along well with the guys since he fulfilled the dares asked of him, no matter how outrageous but he removed that problem on his side. The fact that she was homeschooled, to get such attention, conveyed the idea that she was a smart girl since she would be able to concentrate as she weren't around the other kids. It also meant her already being spoken for much more limited.

Even if it seemed she was free and less likely to have loved ones behind in Florida, he kept thinking about the beach boys as not every guy or girl finds love at school. Love was such a complicated thing. Charlie was pretty level-headed cool guy, but when it came to being unsure about how to act, he usually fills his head with something else to bother himself about, as well as the tendency to ramble. So far, his tactic was the former over the latter while trying not to think of the pretty girl in his bedroom as he thrown the towel to the side of the room as he put on a plain navy blue t-shirt and looking more decent than he had.

"So what is it that's being studied now in school?", she then asked. Yes, school, think about school, "Well in Maths, we're looking at Correlation and Linear Graphs.....Science, Acids and Alkali....English we're doing Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet", he then went on to explain, but even answering a simple question to try and avoid thinking about Katherine didn't help, as just how Romeo fell in love with Juliet, it was how he felt himself but he wasn't quite sure, nor if she felt the same way, and it certainly wasn't fair to come out with it as soon as they met. Besides, there was no such thing as love at first sight, it was only a fairy tale so clearly such would not happen between them, but they could be friends, surely. He hoped so.

"I'm sure it's all pretty much the same sorta stuff you've probably done before, except you'll have several others been taught alongside you, but if you ever need anything or some causing you trouble, just let me know, ok?", he said with a smile. What made the situation a little awkward however was the fact that they had stared at each othe rlast night, but thankfully that hadn't been brought up yet, but as per usual, he kept things in perspective and tried to keep a level-head, as he then asked, "How long have you been homeschooled for?", curious how long she has been away from the whole school environment in general, as surely she would not of been homeschooled in her younger days as he sat on his bed and motioned her to do the same if she wished to sit down, or she could use the bean bags at the foot of the bed which he usually uses when playing video games with Ryan.

Katherine was thinking on how to answer his question when he offered her a seat. She wasn't sure what to do in that moment. Her body didn't retain any heat so she was always cold if someone touched even by her accident they'd know that on the outside she was cold but in reality she didn't feel it. Even so she found herself willing to take that risk and sat down next to him. "Thanks I think I may need someone to help me out. As for homeschooling I've had it for a while probably since I was young." yet another lie she had to tell. She didn't want to especially because he was so nice to her but she had no other choice. "My family moved around a lot so it was easier for me to just be homeschooled but now since my parents want to stay here until I graduate I'll be here as well until then."

That was thruth thankfully for Katherine. It would be different this time. Different that she may actually have fun even more now that Charlie was here. From the looks of it she'd have a nice high school experience for once if she can keep her secret that is. If Charlie were to find out the truth then he'd probably run for the hills or be disgusted of her or even worse he may try to kill her. These were fears that her parents have had for a long time. It's why they make sure there secret is kept. Katherine just wants to be at least semi-normal for once.

Katherine still had the male that was sat right next to her on her mind. It was something new to her. To be thinking of someone so much but she doesn't know why her thoughts continue to focus on him. She doesn't want him to think of her as a monster. It would feel differently this time. It would hurt more for him to see her like that and now for the first time in so long she was scared. Scared that if he was to find out the truth it wouldn't end well at all. She didn't want that. Katherine hated lying to him but it was better than him seeing her that way.

As soon as Charlie had sat down on his bed, he immediately thought about his guest for her to be seated also. He wasn't quite sure if she would or would not, seeing how tense it was, or at least it was tense to him as he could not get that first night out of his mind. He remembered the way she looked out the window so elegantly, how the gentle breeze weaved through her hair as it blew lightly behind her. It had been dark for so many days across the road until last night, where light finally shone in that place, but it wasn't the physical light that had caught his eye, but that bright image that was implanted in his mind and remained there as he slept, curious who the angel across the road was, and here she was now beside him. Was he still dreaming.

To test, he moved his left arm to pinch his right arm, but it didn't take long that a slight tiny dig into his skin was clearly recognised, clearly telling him that all this was for real. Not only had she come to do his door, to his room, but now sat on his bed with her, next to him when she could of opted to sit at the end. How was a guy supposed to think straight now? Thankfully, he had already asked her about her homeschooling before she sat down so that he was able to straighten himself out internally as she replied, "Thanks I think I may need someone to help me out. As for homeschooling I've had it for awhile probably since I was young". He was of course pleased that she had accepted his aid to help her get used to it, but it seemed that he had his work cut out for him when she said that she's been homeschooled since she was young, so not much experience in the wider setting which he faced everyday. Boy she has alot to learn.

"My family moved around a lot so it was easier for me to just be homeschooled but now since my parents want to stay here until I graduate I'll be here as well until then". Mentally he had formed a fist and brought towards him sharply as if he had won something, obviously pleased that she was going to stick around for some time which was nice, but physically, he turned to her and smiled, "That's awesome...You probably don't need much help on the academic side so I'm sure you'll pass for sure, though its adjusting to everyone else that I can help you with and make sure you get into no trouble".

Afterall, Charlie did have his links, but did he truly wish to use all his favours people owed him to help this girl who may go off travelling again when she was finished, unlike him who would remain in Rochester more than likely.....maybe so, when a guy gets entranced by a girl, who knows what that guy may do. "and before you thank me again, it will be my pleasure. It's what friends do..", he then blurted out, before he turned away since he had spoken out of turn, "I mean, it's the neighbourly thing to do". It was like the saying goes, you can choose your friends but not your family, but you couldn't invite yourself to be a friend with someone who might just be simply putting up with you and has different interests. Katherine no doubt will find more smart girls like her to get along with, rather than the daredevil...

Katherine actually felt like she had a friend. Though she thought it only temporary she was glad she had one. It was a new thing for her being friends with a human but she liked it. Now she had hoped she wouldn't do anything to mess it up. She frowned at his last statement. "I'd rather it be a friendly thing to do but whichever you prefer is fine." She spoke with feined nonchalance. Really she was a bit hurt. Here, just a few moments ago, she though she had finally made a human friend but she was wrong. "I'm sure you have better friends you'd rather hand with." A fake smile was given. She didn't want to admit it but she had hoped she would become friends with him. From the whold window thing last night she had guessed he might've wanted to be friends but she was wrong. Realizing her error she stood up.

"Thanks for helping me and explaining what we're studying. I'll let you get back to what you were doing before." she though it would be rude to just stay in his room when he had considered nothing more than a stranger or a neighbor. She glanced at him oncer more. "It was nice meeting you Charlie." she gave another fake smile before opening the door and immediately hearing the adults still carrying on with their conversation. She had yet to move from the doorway trying to decide what to do. She could go home but that would be rude and her mother wouldn't allow that but Katherine didn't want to just sit around listening in on their conversation. Right now she was torn on what to do.

(OOC: Noted same goes for Charlie. If he has nothing to say or do pm me and I'll edit my post.)

Every day had pretty much been the same old same old, but ever since last night when the delivery van drove up to the house opposite, much had changed. People tested him at school and he succeeded, he got along well with others, both boys and girls alike, but when it came to pretty girls, then things got a little more harder and awkward, especially where other guys were involved also. Charlie was however polite and friendly which had drawn girls to him where some did wish to know him better, but upon realising his risk-taking, they felt that they could not put up with him anymore, especially in picking up the pieces that he leaves behind.

Now here he was, sitting next to the prettiest girl he has ever seen, no other guys around, just the two of them that it just had to be perfect. If there was ever something called fate or destiny, this had to be it surely. However, one part that got stuck in his throat was the fact that they had only just met with it being barely a day, that her parents were downstairs and already met him shirtless and that she was his neighbour who usually are the types that you have feuds with, but not so often any romantic relations which he felt for Katherine, leaving him unsure of how to act or what to say.

He was however concerned how she'd be recieved at school but he'd be there for her, just as he had promised, but then the mood suddenly changed as she replied, "I'd rather it be a friendly thing to do but whichever you prefer is fine...I'm sure you have better friends you'd rather hand with". Even though she smiled, she felt that the temperature had fallen right down as before it was quite hot in the room, mainly due to her mere presence in the rooms and the clinks in his head working away, but now the temperature had dropped and he was freezing up, wondering what had just happened. "Thanks for helping me and explaining what we're studying. I'll let you get back to what you were doing before...It was nice meeting you Charlie", before she then opened the door to leave.

She was clearly upset by something, but what was up. What it something he said? Charlie's brain started ticking away as cracks were appearing along his ice structure ready to shatter into pieces until he had a revelation. Him and his stupid mouth! as he recalled her saying how she'd rather his act be a 'friendly thing' when he had said 'neighbourly thing' since he was concerned about making himself a friend without even asking, all to be polite and instead it had been the complete opposite and no doubt that was why she was upset. Realising this, he stood up, walked over to her and held her shoulder, "Please don't go", he asked.

Clearly embarrased and ashamed of himself, "I'm sorry if I've offended you, I just don't think before I speak as that's my problem. You see at school, I'm known for just doing things, hence why I said I weren't so brilliant at academic things because I simply say what I am led to say. Sometimes I stop myself but sometimes I don't...", as he then let go off her shoulder as his hands just started amusing themselves for speaking without thinking wasn't his only problem, rambling was one as well when he got nervous, "...I didn't mean to put it the way I did, only that I've been told it is wrong to assume things so before assuming you'd be my friend, I should ask if you want to be friends which is why I changed my mind as felt I said something wrong, but now realise that I was wrong in saying such, but in truth, I do like you...", and when he got nervous, he also couldn't keep his eye contact up for very long as he turned slightly away, "..I like you alot, and really would love to be friends with you, but now I probably seem like an idiot now, so please forgive me, I'm sorry, truly I am...ermmm", leaving his rambling at a standstill, being unsure what to do next as he shrugged and opened slightly should he be forgiven should he choose to offer her a friendly hug.

Charlie really felt he had blown it now, how fate had brought him his princess, his angel, a fairytale that may just well be true and all blown up in his face because he was worried about how he would sound and not wishing to be impolite and instead he seemed to have come across even more so than what he wished to avoid, and now made himself look like a right idiot with his rambling but he couldn't help it. Here he was infront a pretty girl and he had simply froze and didn't want her to walk out that door and leave him forever. Just as he had made a grave mistake in his choice of vocabulary, he had probably just done it again by his rambling though other girls didn't mind that since it shown his softer side, but not all girls were the same. Was his dreams from last night now shattered and destroyed his possible hope for happiness after being entranced by her last night...

Katherine had turned to him and listened to his ramble. She didn't utter a single word until he was completely finished. When he did finish she walked over to him and surprisingly hugged him. It was brief simply because if she had hugged him for too long she was worried he'd realize how cold she felt. "It's okay Charlie. I want to be yoru friend as well." she smiled at him and this time it was real. She wasn't sure what he meant by him liking her but she had slightly hoped it meant a bit more than a friendship way but she wouldn't admit that. Katherine thought his rambling was cute and thats also something she'd choose not to admit. She was just glad or more-like ecstatic that he wanted to be her friend.

Not many did as she was more of a loner but since he did want to be her friend it meant a lot more than she thought it would. In all her time of living it had been so long since she was able to call someone a friend. Her last friend made her into the monster she is now. Now that she thought about he was the only friend she ever had. Also thinking about it the last time she fed on what she needed. As of right now she thought it better to keep a good enough distance from him to make sure now wasn't the time that she'd have the urge to drink blood. The last thing she wanted was to hurt Charlie like that. Her appearance may not look it but she was strong enough to send him flying if necessary.

Of course she would never to that to her very handsome friend. All she wanted was a friend and she would make sure to what she could to keep him as a friend. Unfortunately that entailed lying to him to make sure he wasn't aware of the monster she really was. It wasn't fair to him but it was better that way. If he kew the truth she was terrified the worst would happen. As of now she was glad to just be here as his friend and wanted to enjoy this moment as much as possible.

As soon as Katherine had turned and walked away, Charlie was afraid that if he did not say or do anything, that she would not only walking out that door, but walking out his life also, the life that he had dreamed about. Throughout the night, all he thought about was the angel across the road, but as she got up to leave, it seemed that his room was dwindling into darkness with the light of his room leaving, as well as the drop in temperature since she was no longer by his side. Sure he had the other guys to be friends with and the odd girl who felt she could handle him before casting him aside, but here was a girl, a pretty girl at that, who did wish to be with him though he was unsure to what extent but he certainly wasn't going to let go.

As soon as he started to try and explain himself, he realised he was rambling again. Sure he was nervous but he simply didn't want to lose her. Should he just go all the way and just tell her how beautiful she is ever since he saw her last night through her window. No he couldn't, they hardly knew each other and love at first sight was total rubbish, but it truly felt like it was which only added to the situation and causing him to admit that he likes her alot, which after saying it made him realise what he had actually said and hoping she would not dash for the door now if she did not want to get that close.

Instead, he found himself in her arms as she hugged him and in response he hugged her back, treasuring the moment. She could easily of said that he was forgive, but this hug meant alot more. It was true when people say that actions speak louder than words, and it was a good job it was too, especially with someone like Charlie who ends up saying the wrong things sometimes because he's either not thinking what he was saying or simply thinking too much. Either way, he felt alot better now, for not had she only forgiven him, but also shown affection by hugging him which made him truly happy, though it did affect what he did. Afterall, he wasn't thinking straight with him merely sitting next to him and now they were in each others' embrace that his whole thinking mechanism shut down before kick-starting up as she pulled away.

"It's okay Charlie. I want to be your friend as well", as she smiled at him and him at her, as he tried to figure out what to say now. As she walked away from him, despite having other friends, he felt so empty, so cold and in darkness, but now it felt alot warmer, or was it just him with heat rising in his cheeks. One part of him was telling him to just go for it and get the girl of his dreams, whilst the other side was not to rush things and scare her since they had only just met. Before she left, Katherine told him to continue doing what he was doing, but the truth was he hadn't had anything to do, usually he'd have his shower and then just chill infront of the TV screen before being called out, but today had taken an unexpected turn, but it was a turn that he was glad he had taken, though not so much about the upsetting her part.

"Awesome...", he replied as the only word that came to him at that moment before aiming to move on, "but like I said before, if anyone causes you trouble, let me know, it's what friends do", saying such with a smile, "though I would suggest you stay away from the Delaney sisters as they can get quite...thingy about other girls. They don't like competition...", trying not to explicitly tell her, but before he said too much he quickly moved on so he didn't ramble or freeze up again, "It'll be quite a change from what your used to, but I'm sure you'll fit in alright, and if you ever want a moments' peace, you can always use the library since we do have a few wild ones, me included too at times".

Now for the moment of truth as he then asked, "Do you, errm, have a cell by any chance, so we can keep in touch...", stopping right there, as would be easier for him to text where he was or for her to text him where she was, rather than hunting across school. Not to mention that it was always the goal of a guy to get the gal's number, so such would be a test of how much she trusts a big bafoon like him.
