Mali knew no one here, having just moved from a different city. She said goodbye to her brother and walked into a classroom, hoping her parents weren't ruining their lives. They left because of the bullying her brother got. Mali prayed to any diety who heard to let this school be better for their final year in high school.
Mali felt like she had butterflies that were on steroids in her stomach. She took a deep breath and walked into the classroom. She found a seat in near the middle row and sat down next to a window, got her things out of her bag, and tried to stay calm.

Ah...Thanks, Logan." Roxxi had said. Logan nodded. "No prob." He was extra late, which was funny in an odd way. "Are you a Senior? You're really tall and develop, so I'm just guessing. I'm a Junior myself." She had said. Logan's eyes widened. He wanted to crack up laughing on the floor. So many times has he been confused with a senior... it was hilarious. He let out a laugh. "I really look like a Senior? Nah, this is my second year at this place." Logan said, smiling, this time showing his perfect teeth. "I'm a Junior also, hard to believe. I just do a little bit more working out than most guys my age." He took off his snap-back, and pulled his fingers back through his hair. "I guess we'll be seeing each other around more often, huh?" Logan had told her, scooting in a little closer.
A young brown haired girl looked up suddenly in slight shock as a girl entered the previously empty classroom. Jasmine had thought this classroom was going to be free for the next too periods, hence why she was there. Her music sheets were spred out over three desks joined together so she could see them all clearly, making it easier for her to write on them. In a mad dash she started to pack up her things, eyes lowered, head down. A piece of paper drifted over by the desk near the window and she froze. She couldn't ask for it back.... and if the girl gave it back it might be an invite for her to start talking... And Jasmine had trouble conversing. She clenched at her skirts of her dress, ruffling the cream spotted chocolate material. She couldn't leave without the sheet music, but she couldn't stay and stumble through a tedious converstation... Oh god... Help... Jasmine was stranded.
A sheet of paper flew by her. Instinctively she grabbed it and looked around. The only other person in the room was another girl, so Mali used her super duper detective skills to deduce that it belonged to her. She happened to see that it was sheet music, but she didn't read it. Mali knew what it was like to write music; until you wanted the world to see it, until you were ready, you didn't want anyone to find out.
She quietly walked over to the girl's desk. She looked terrified. Cheezus, am I that scary? Mali thought. She knew she could come across as intimidating, but never that much. Gracious.
"Um, I think this belongs to you." She flashed the girl a small smile. "I hope whatever you're working on turns out the way you want it to. I'm Mali, by the way." The Mali, not wanting to disturb the composer at work, went back and sat at her place and took out her own notebook and started writing lyrics that had just popped into her mind.

He shook his head. "I don't know.." Then he chuckled. "I don't know if i want to go.. But if you guys want to, I can call them back, and tell them.." Then he smiled at Audrey. He reached across the small round table, and took her hand. Then his smile faded, into him biting his lip. He then remembered that Callie was there so he gently let go of her hand and pulled his hand back to his drink.
He shook his head. "I don't know.." Then he chuckled. "I don't know if i want to go.. But if you guys want to, I can call them back, and tell them.." Then he smiled at Audrey. He reached across the small round table, and took her hand. Then his smile faded, into him biting his lip. He then remembered that Callie was there so he gently let go of her hand and pulled his hand back to his drink.
She watched the girl walking over, her heart beatng faster and she flinched slightly as the piece of paper was held out to her. She stared at it and carefully extended her hand to take it, eyes darting up at her to make sure she didn't try anything. Jasmine was like a deer, never trusting until she fully understood the person's motivation. Her fingers closed around the papper and she quickly withdrew her hand, bowing her head slightly and muttering a stuttered thankyou. Her eyes widened at the girls introduction... Usually she was invisable, never being noticed or wanting to be noticed. It suited her just fine, seeing as she was cronically shy and nervous, But it was good to know that some people were nice enough to atleast give her a name. She smiled slightly, blushing as she muttered. "I-I'm Birdy..."

As Mali started to write, her hand flying over the page, she paused for a moment to look at Birdy. "It's great to meet you. I really like your name, by the way - it's very unique. "But seriously though, I'm not that scary - I only make myself look tough. But don't tell that to anyone else; I can't have my secret uncovered quite yet." Mali flashed Birdy a quick smile before she turned back to her lyrics.
Maybe, Mali thought, if I show her I'm not nearly as frightening as I make myself seem, she won't be so scared. I hadn't meant to frighten her. I'd just wanted to keep the jerks away. Mali sighed, her hand racing to get the words down once again.

Nah, this is my second year at this place." he said with a cool smile on his face, this time showing off his pearly whites. A smile brushed upon Roxanna's lips as her eyes continue to look at his. "I'm a Junior also, hard to believe. I just do a little bit more working out than most guys my age."
Her eyes softly rolled down his body, examining every muscle he had hiding underneath his clothing. Logan took off his snap-back, pulling his fingers through his thin layer of hair causing Roxanna's eyes to rocket back up to the handsome feature of his face. "I guess we'll be seeing each other around more often, huh?" he said, scooting in a litter closer to her, entering her personal bubble not that she mind. Her infamous smirk curved up onto her lips once again as she pulled her fringe out of her eyes. "I guess we will." I hope so. she thought the same time she replied.

She sat down at the desk, her eyes cast down at her work. She blushed slightly when the girl said something about keeping the jerks away... She bit her lip slightly and muttered, almost silently, "I-I w-won't tell... N-No one listens t-to me anyw-way..." Birdy started to write again slowly, but made a mistake quickly, rubbing out the light pencil on the sheet music.

She was only trying to show the girl that she wasn't anything to fear. Mali realized Birdy was very much like a bird - she had to be very careful not to frighten it.
"I didn't mean you had to tell me, Birdy," Mali said calmly, soothingly. "I wasn't even expecting you to. I just wanted you to know that I'm not like whoever was horrible to you. In fact, I used to be a lot like you..." Mali stopped herself before she remembered anything. It was all just too painful.

She looked up slightly from through her hair, one hand on her cheek, hiding half of her face. Green eyes with stormy grey highlights peered over at her. They were curious, but causious. She wasn't sure whether to trust the girl or not...
"Horrible? I d-don't think anyone was horrible t-to me... I've n-never really liked being ar-round people... I-Its too loud and claustrophobic..." Mali couldn't believe it. This girl was terrified.
"Birdy, I'm not going to hurt you, and you're not talking to a group of people. You're talking to me. You really don't need to worry, honest." She tried smiling again, hoping it worked.

She listened to her, a ghost of a smile on her lips and nodded slowly, but then looked down to her music. She wasn't sure what to say... She wasn't usually treated like this, but she wasn't going to let down her guard just like that. She barely knew the girl... Even is she said sh wasn't going to hurt her or anything, that wasn't what she was really afraid of. It was the whole fact that this Mali girl was just that, another person... Jasmine was a shy, withdrawn person. She stuttered because of it.
Birdy didn't say anything, she just smiled - almost, nodded, and then went back to her music. Mali was quiet for a minute, letting her inner turmoil work its way through her body.
"You know," Mali said suddenly, "I used to be a lot like you. Now I'm kind of worse, in some ways."

She watched her, slightly confused. This girl couldn't have been like her... No way... She never said a word, just looked back down to her music, but she couldn't concentrate, it was too loud and busy, so she started to pack up again, putting her music in a folder then slipped it into her leather satchel and slung it over her shoulder. Jasmine stood up and muttered a small goodbye before heading towards the door.
She heard the girl say goodbye. "Wait - Birdy." She hurried to catch up to her. "It's my first day here. Mind helping a fellow musician out? I'd love to hear you music." Mali flashed a smile.
