The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
"We packed it for you; food, clothing, and your phone. Your father threw in some Pokemon medicine, too, so make good use of it." Lily took the bag from her mother, pulling it over her shoulder. As she did, her mother wrapped her in a big hug.
"Be safe, and call us often, alright?" Lily nodded her agreement, and turned to leave. Her father was still there, staring at the ground. Lily knew he wasn't good at expressing his emotions, and didn't expect a hug from him. Instead, he walked past her, lightly tugging at her hair as he did. That was as close to a hug as she was getting from him. With a sigh of relief, she ran out of the house, heading straight for Lucas' house. When she got there, she didn't knock or ring a doorbell. Instead, she looked through a window, yelling as she did.
"Hey, aren't you ready yet? Let's get moving!"
"Oh yea! That! Oops.." Lucas quickly went through the house, shoving some clothes and such in a backpack. He went through and said goodbye to his family, not knowing if it would take that long. He went into his brother's room, and took some stuff off his dresser. He wasn't sure what it did, but he thought it helped Pokemon.
Lucas finally arrived outside the house, looking at Lily. "Yes? Ready now?" He stuck out his tongue and blew a raspberry, smiling wide after.
"I've been ready; Mom and Dad kept stopping me, so it took forever. It's like they assumed I had forgotten to pack my bag, or hadn't done it properly, or something..." Granted, she had forgotten a few things, like spare clothing and food, but it was all packed now, and that was all that needed to be done. She bounced lightly in place.
"Let's get moving already; I want to get going!" she said, turning towards the lab and started to walk towards it. She glanced back to make sure Lucas was following, at least.
His brother was a trainer, and Lucas looked up to him greatly. He was the middle child, and his little sister would probably be looking up to him one day. "He went to Goldenrod before! And saw a real train!" The two were both from the same small town, and didn't see many big cities.
Lucas saw her walking away and he scrambled to catch up with her so he could walk next to her. "I wonder what Pokemon we'll get." He made sure to open the door and hold it open for Lily. "Ladies first.. long as you hurry up." He stuck his tongue out again, giggling after. His mother was worried he was too immature, too silly to be a Pokemon trainer, like his idol- his older sibling. Only time would tell.
"Well...the train was probably interesting...do you think he got to ride it?" she asked, hesitating when he opened the door. She stuck her tongue back at him before rushing through the door. She couldn't understand what her father had been worried about. Her mother had liked the idea of her travelling with a friend, but her father wasn't so sure. Did he think they didn't get along? They always teased each other! Wasn't that perfectly normal among friends? She paused to glance around the inside of the building. She didn't go in there often, really.
"Hmm...whatever Pokemon we get...hopefully they'll be cute!"
"Hmm...whatever Pokemon we get...hopefully they'll be cute!"
"Of course." He smiled, teasing her. "Like you." He made a quick motion, going towards her but stopping and quickly pulling back with his arms out to say 'what you gonna do about it?' He giggled and walked to a skinny man with brown hair and glasses. Lucas looked to him, but then the ground. He wasn't good at talking with people. He looked to Lily, hoping she would say something, but it was too late. He was saying something already. It was about a trip, and Mr. Pokemon or something.
Lucas's eyes kept wandering to a small mouse.
"Sure, we'll go visit Mr. Pokemon." She hesitated, glancing to Lucas. "Do you mind if I choose first? I already have an idea..." she added, glancing to the three pokeballs on the desk. Elm had already explained the Pokemon inside them, and she knew which one she wanted.
"I kinda wanted Chikorita, if you didn't mind, Lucas..."
It only left two pokemon remaining. An easier choice for Lucas. He chose Cydnaquil and smiled going to Lily. "Got a type advantage, I'll beat you up." He pretended to fight her before laughing and looking at the pokeball he'd just picked up, wondering what they would be doing on their way to Mr. Pokemon.
"Doesn't matter; you're not going to beat me! ...All the time," she added in a mumble. She shrugged the thought off, and glanced at the remaining pokeball. There weren't any others getting their Pokemon that day; when would Totodile get to travel? She shook that thought off; it wasn't like it wasn't being cared for, after all. She listened carefully to the directions Elm gave to get to Mr. Pokemon's house, and nodded before turning back to Lucas.
"Ready to go, then? Maybe we'll see a lot of wild Pokemon along the way!"
"Okay." He started to walk out of the building with Lily. "I wonder what.. probably like some of the ones in the woods." They kept walking and they came to some grass. He turned to Lily, before slowly walking in, unsure.
."Let's just...try to be careful..." She debated taking Chikorita out of its pokeball and having it walk around with her, so she wouldn't have to worry about the wild Pokemon as much, but decided against it. There was a reason most trainers kept their Pokemon in pokeballs, anyway, wasn't there?
He nearly tripped on a Pidgey that soon flew up in the air. "Ah!" It startled Lucas, and he scrambled to get his Pokemon out. "Tackle! Tackle!" He said frantically, not sure what was happening. The two pokemon battled, and the wild one fainted. Cyndaquil walked back to Lucas's side. Looking down to it, he scooped it up and held it.
Lucas remembered Lily was with him, and she just saw the whole thing. Him panicking, and then hugging his pokemon. He blushed slightly. "What?"
"Nervous?" she asked, teasing. She did her best not to laugh, though. She panicked all the time, so she knew she shouldn't be laughing. Still, she kept s tight grip on the pokeball holding Chikorita. What if another wild Pokemon attacked, and it attacked her? She had to be ready for a battle that could happen at any time. Wild Pokemon were everywhere, after all.
"Well, now we know that Pidgey live here, so we know we need to be ready for that," she noted, changing the conversation, so he wouldn't be quite so embarassed anymore.
"So.. any idea how long till we get there?" He was cautious of any other pokemon that might come up. She said something about Pidgey. "Yea.. that's for sure.."
"I forgot my map...maybe I'll pick it up later. Anyway, Elm said it was pretty much a straight shot; we should go through Cherrygrove City...and then head north...something about the right path...and that should be it. As for how long...hmm...well, it isn't too long a trip to Cherrygrove City...but getting from Cherrygrove to Mr. Pokemon's house might take a little longer...I just wish I knew how long it would take..." she answered, glancing around again. She jumped at a Pidgey nearby, and hesitated. Chikorita had a type disadvantage against flying types...so not a really good idea. But the Pidgey was kind of cute. Kind of wasn't enough; she left it alone, hoping it would fly off.
"Hopefully not too too long. Elm did say the email said it was important..."
(I'm sorry it took so long; my stupid computer said I had no new posts anywhere! But I had two...yours and another...makes me feel bad I didn't check properly...)
He saw her jump at another Pidgey. Lucas watched her try to decide whether to attack or let it go. She had a type disadvantage, and Lucas didn't have any advantage. He watched it as they walked away form it, making sure he knew where it was.
"Hopefully not too long. Elm did say the email was important."
"Well, maybe he should've gone himself, I dunno." Lucas quickly stopped complaining once they reach ed they reached Cherrygrove city. "Woo!" His smile soon faded as he realized they still had to go to Mr. Pokemon from here.
"Well, he said he was busy, and the email said it was important, but he wasn't sure whether or not it was real this time. Whatever that means," she added with another shrug. She paused when they looked over another city. This had to be Cherrygrove! Finally; that was one step behind. Now they only had to go north...until they ran into Mr. Pokemon's house, however far that was.
"Well...should we check it out first? Maybe visit the Pokemon Center first?"
"Well..should we check it out first? Maybe visit the Pokemon Center first?" Lucas remembered his Cyndaquil had battled. He turned away from Lily and looked to his Cyndaquil. "Wanna go in buddy?" He blushed a little bit, but its not like Lily had even talked to hers yet.
"Okay, I'm goin." Lucas stepped in, not knowing if Lily wanted to come too. He put Cyndaquil back in his ball and handed it to the nurse. After a few seconds a little soundtrack, she handed it back to him and they were ready to go again. He would wait until they left the Pokemon Center first before letting him back out though.
"Well...whenever you're ready, I guess. Chikorita doesn't really need to be healed just yet; it hasn't been in a battle yet..."
The two started walking out of Cherrygrove and they came upon a tree. "There's berries up there." Lucas smiled and looked to Lily "Stand on my shoulders, get some?" There was a house too, but he didn't wanna go in. He would feel weird just walking into a stranger's home.
"...Only if you're sure you won't drop me. ...And you don't think we'll get into trouble doing this," she answered, looking back to Lucas. She trusted him, of course, but this was a strangers house, and they had no idea who lived there.
"...You don't think whoever lives here would get mad...do you?"
"I don't think they would mind, why would they have it so close to the road?" He waited there, seeing what Lily would say about it. Lucas bent down and looked to his Cyndaquil, petting it softly.
"Right...they have more...and we wouldn't take too much..." She glanced to Chikorita, though that wasn't much help. Chikorita only watched, curiously. She looked back to Lucas.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt, really..."
"Yea, would't hurt.. Might help ya, if you ever battle." He stuck his tongue out again, teasing her that she hasn't battled anything so far.
"Well...if there wasn't a type disadvantage, I would. But Chikorita is weak to flying Pokemon, so I have to be careful. It's not like Cyndaquil, where there really aren't any water types in the area." She hopped off Lucas, onto the ground, showing him the berries she had collected.
"I couldn't reach any more, but this should be enough for the Pokemon we have now."
