Being reliant on technology is normal, considering all the new gadgets that we have to play with. However, just because something is normal, doesn't make it any less dangerous. What would you do if all of those fancy gadgets you rely on were to simply shut off?

Setting:
The roleplay takes place in New York City in the year 2100. All the buildings have grown taller, and even the city is bigger. All parks have been demolished to make room for more buildings. The population has grown substantially, and 80% of the buildings are now residential. There are even some small houses and not just apartment complexes. Retirement homes no longer exist, so most elderly people live with their children.

Plot:
In the year 2099, everything was going great. Technology had advanced more than anyone expected it to. Cars no longer ran on gas, there were pollution vaccums placed permanatly in the sky, and most cops had been replaced with robots, lowering the crim rates substantially. That was how amazing life was. But on January 1st 2100, America was bombed. The bomb never made contact with the ground, it just exploded in the sky. Great for the lives of people, horrible for electricity. The nuclear energy of the bomb interfered with anything that ran on electricity and shut it all off. Now, the only light is during the day, and the night has never been more dangerous. Criminals such as pickpockets murderers and rapists lurk in the darkness, waiting to strike. The only lights available are torches, which don't help much.

Characters:
You can make nearly any character. The major guideline is that they have to be human. You can make them any age you want, from a five year old to even a 200 year old (remember, we're in the future now). You can make a single character, a couple, or even a whole family. They can be criminals, housewives, or even workers for the government. The possibilties are endless, so be creative with it.
