“Err..Thank you. Fo-For saving me...” The girl stuttered as she blushed.
Lukas chuckled quietly. It was cute the way she blushed. Fireworm wiggled past Lukas as he opened the door to enter the Mansion. “No need. It was nothing.” Lukas responded with a slight wave.
“Ohhh… such a modest hero…” Fireworm teased. Lukas looked down at the red and black dragon. Lukas could understand Fireworm because he spoke the dragon language. He was pretty sure by the way this girl had been speaking to her other dragon that she could also speak dragon.
“Don’t you have a kitchen to raid?” Lukas muttered as Fireworm hit his head against Luke’s leg. Fireworm scampered off to explore. “Be good and don’t break anything!” Lukas called after him.
"Do you...Um, need anything for your leg? I am the maid here after all.."
Lukas shook his head. “Thank you, but I think I’ll be fine. I’ve been through much worse than this.” Luke shifted his pack on his shoulder. He looked into the main room. He needed to find his future bride. “I’m Lukas by the way. Could you help me find my… spouse? Her name is Serina. She’s an angel. I’d like to meet her.” Luke asked politely. He was dying to meet his “soul mate” as his mother called it.
Letting her large white wings out in the open and stretched them. With a sigh she walked to the door and accidentally ran into Lukas falling backwards rubbing her head and looked up at him "I'm sorry I'm so clumsy" she squeaked softly tears welling up she felt abandoned an now she was so stupid she ran into someone.
"Hello, I am Natasha and you must be Jack" The young woman said
"I am most certainly Jack. Its nice to finally meet you. I'd say I've heard so much about you but i really haven't. Ive only known your name up till now." Jack said. It was true that his parents had given him almost no information on the woman he was to marry. They only shared her name and age. He was happy that he could finally actually know what she looked like, he was extra happy that she was in fact quite beautiful.
Jack could tell by her body language that she was getting nervous, to be honest so was he. Jack eyes suddenly got wide as he remembered that he had bought Natasha a 'nice to meet you' gift. He searched around in his pockets and then pulled out a small box containing a delicate silver and diamond bracelet and held it out to Natasha.
"For you." Jack said with a warm smile, hoping she would like it.
"I'm sorry I'm so clumsy." The words came from a beautiful woman that hit her head on Lukas’s chest and bounce right off, falling onto the ground. He could see the tears appearing on the edges of her eyes.
“Hey, it’s alright. I’m Lukas.” He reached down and helped her back to her feet. His eyes darted to the white wings on her back. His gray gaze settled back on her face. “Actually, I don’t think I’ll need your help. I believe I’ve found her.” Lukas looked back at the maid who still hadn’t told him her name. “Are you Serina?” He asked. Lukas hoped he wasn’t mistaken. If he was, well, thinks we’re about to get really awkward.
She truly was beautiful. The bright white from her wings outlined the color of her eyes. She was a bit shorted than him, but Lukas didn't care. A sudden thought hit him. I'm being wed to an angel... I thought that this was only true in my mother's stories... but I guess not... Lukas flashed a warm smile.
She took his hand and stood up and went wide eyed at how tall he was compared to her. She blushed a bit at how handsome he was.
Odette had just made it past chapter one when a flustered looking fellow angel suddenly came into the main room from upstairs. "Hello." Her voice was whispery and hardly audible. Figuring that she was speaking to Jack, Odette glanced over to the blonde boy. He was completely absorbed in sketching his kitten, Bella. For a moment, Odette sat quietly behind her book, debating on if she wanted to engage the other angel in conversation or not. In the end, she decided that she would prefer to keep to herself for a moment, as her last encounter with a new person of the house resulted in her wondering about the status of her safety.
She began reading again, but did not even manage to get another three pages in before another soft spoken feminine voice broke the quiet. Did any of the girls in this house have a strong voice aside from the bodyguard? There was no ignoring this one, as the girl made a B-line for Odette. Inwardly sighing, Odette put on a smile for the girl and gently lowered her book a little to signify that she would give the woman her attention. "I-I'm the maid in the...Err..Mansion. So, if you need anything...J-Just tell me..." "A pleasure to meet you, thank you." Just as quickly as the maid arrived, she left. Odette watched her scamper out of the main doors, and was surprised to watch her climb onto the back of a dragon and take off for a joy ride. What kind of a maid takes off for a little joy ride around the grounds? Gracious. Well, there goes my hope of a decent staff around here, Odette thought bitterly to herself.
As if things could not get any stranger, just as Odette was about to begin reading again another woman who's voice was just as weak and pathetically quiet as the other three that had come by so far, approached Jack. Well, aren't you the man of the hour. Maybe that's why you have a body guard... Odette was just beginning to wonder if Jack was some celebrity that she had never heard of when she overheard the woman say, "Hello, I am Natasha and you must be Jack." Surprise brushed across her features for just a moment before she managed to mask it, raising her book to appear uninterested. So, Jack's bride is mind reader? Or did she get a picture of him? Why did she get a picture? I didn't get a picture... What the.. It was all entirely interesting and confusing.
Then, Odette's attention was once again distracted from her novel as the front doors came open once more. A handsome looking man, with wind blown hair came inside with the maid trailing after his heels. "I’ve been through much worse than this,” he was saying, “I’m Lukas by the way. Could you help me find my… spouse? Her name is Serina. She’s an angel. I’d like to meet her.” Ah, so this was the other angel's husband-to-be. Speaking of, said other angel was just getting herself all worked up. Odette watched in mild entertainment as the girl became very dramatic and threw her wings open indoors, something that most angels never do. Apparently unable to live with herself anymore, the child ran towards the entrance, blindly running into her husband.
I imagine that's one way to do it, Odette thought sarcastically to herself, Running him over is bound to be a great story to tell the kids one day. "I'm sorry I'm so clumsy," Odette heard the angel, Serina, say. What a strange thing to apologize for. Why not apologize for running into him instead? Shaking her head, Odette turned back to her abandoned pages of script. The drama of it all was entirely too much for her, and so she further secluded herself into the book between her fingers. She had gone unnoticed so far, and perhaps if her husband never show up... or never found her.. she could just go home at the end of the day, and tell her parents that she at least gave it a go.
"Well, since you are Serina and I am Lukas, then yes, I am the one you are to marry." Lukas let out a light chuckle. He did not let go of her hand. It was one of those magical moments when you just stop and stare into your lover's eyes. Everything else seemed to melt away and all he could see was her. He could tell she was rally nervous, the way she stammered and tripped over her own words. Lukas leaned over and whispered in her ear, "No need to be nervous or worried. I promise, even though you may not have wanted to do this, I will be faithful and true and make sure to always love you." Lukas literally couldn't believe he just said that. He pulled back and squeezed her hand gently.
She gave his large hand a squeeze and smiled "may we go upstairs and talk privately"
The Vampiric Elf quickly turned away from the haunting image reflected from the thin sheet of glass to break the locked gaze with herself. With a small sigh, Victorique closes her eyes before calling out in her soft voice "What do you think, Mint? Go down and introduce myself or stay here?" After several seconds of silence, she opens her eye, frowning at the silence. "Mint? Mint.. where are you?" Victorique continues to call out for the black kitten, looking everywhere in the tiny space. Not a single hair of the feline was to be found in the room, however, which had only increased Victorique's panic. Without another moment's hesitation, she quickly runs out in the hallway before hurrying through the house in panic.
"Its alright, really. As long as your ok." Lukas responded lightly. She hadn't hurt him. She merely bounced off of his chest.
"May we go upstairs and talk privately?" Her voice was sincere and kind. Lukas swallowed a nervous lump in his throat.
"Alright. Let's go then." He answered softly as he walked up the stairs, still not letting go of her hand.
Lukas picked out a room that was a good size and a bit rustic, with hardwood floors and wood paneled walls. Lukas put his bag down. This was now his room. It reminded him of the cabin his father owned up a mountain that bordered his land. They would go up there in the winter to play in the snow. Despite being a fire Dragon, Fireworm likes the snow. Lukas always found that odd, but Fireworm was and odd Dragon.
Lukas turned to Serina. "Is this private enough?" The question was true, no hint of sarcasm in his voice.
As they entered the rustic suite she smiled shed always liked the cabinesque stuff. "is this private enough?"
Serina laughed the laugh of angels which sounded like a thousand of bells ringing. "yes I would say so and the fact that its right across the room from mine is convenient" she said sitting on his bed and hummed slightly her wings fluttering cutely.
"so Lukas let us get to know each other "
"So Lukas let us get to know each other. "
Lukas nodded. "The first thing you should know is that I come from a long line of Dragon Tamers. I have my very own Dragon. His name is Fireworm." Lukas took his two fingers and put them in his mouth. He whistled loudly. It was a sharp, loud noise. Lukas paused as he listened to the sound of heavy paws on the floor when Fireworm burst through the door. He immediately tackled Lukas onto the bed, next to Serina.
"You called? Ohhh... who's this?" he turned to Serina and began to sniff her, similarly to what a dog would do.
"Stop that. Be polite. This is Serina." Luke pulled Fireworm away gently.
Is this your mate?" The little Dragon asked curiously.
"For the last time, we're not mates. She's my fiance." Fireworm shrugged and sat in front of her, staring.
“Knock ,knock” and with that Marko was howling at the door. “Marko, li poremećen mutant je vrata!” The man hissed at the tiresome mutt, who disobediently continued his infernal barking. “Silence!” he hissed once more pulling the dog by the skin of the neck to his side, before opening the door.
“Halo?” He spoke as his eyes gardened to the young woman at his door. “Da, what do you want?” he asked as Marko gnarled. “Marko” He hissed at the dog, “ponašati.” He looked back at the woman. “Very pretty” he thought to himself as Marko continued to gnarl at the cat.
“Marko, idite spavati.” He said as he released his hand from the dog. Marko, whimpered and backed away jumping onto the bed in a single leap, laying down and placing his paws over his noise. Niko’s eyes never left hers’ he wasn’t sure who this girl was she was, indeed very pretty. “Pardon him.” He said once more then asked the question. “Now who do I have the honor of acquaintanceship?” He bowed genteelly out of respect, and in such an old fashion way.
Kylar stroked its head gently, still carrying it with confidence, as he made his way down the stairs, oblivious to the fact that this was probably someone's animal and they were most likely looking for it, or at least worried about it. He was so used to getting whatever he wanted even as a child, that he didn't even once think about this possibility. He held the animal with a certain pride, and anyone that looked might assume that it was his. With his mind clouding with past memories and experiences with animals, he had nearly forgotten what his mission was. The door, that...angel. Right.
He stepped past the few people that were in the main room, casting a brief sideways glance towards the few there out of curiosity. They all seemed to be focused on their own things, either speaking or reading, so he tried not to draw any attention to himself, and continued towards the front doors. A couple briskly walked past him, an angel and someone else, up towards the staircase. He had to swerve out of the way to avoid them, and found himself glaring slightly as they walked away. He wasn't sure if he would be able to get use to so many people in one place, even if it was a giant mansion. He was pretty sure that there were still more people to arrive too. This was just the beginning. Kylar sighed quietly to himself, and just as he was a few feet from the doorway, he paused, noticing that it was already slightly open. Leaning to the side slightly, he saw through the crack a girl outside near the front. Well, the man outside his window could find his own way in, now that it was open.
Kylar turned quickly, his white-grey hair falling in front of his eyes. He struggled to clear his vision just by slightly shaking his head, but decided after a few seconds that he probably looked like an idiot, and might be startling the animal, so quickly stopped. He began to ascend the stairs again, hoping to get back to his room so he could unpack his things, and maybe even think on how to get out of the current situation he was in. He was not going to let his parents control him, force him to marry someone just for their own selfish reasons. Most people saw the time here as a time to get to know their future spouse. He saw it as a time limit, a ticking bomb. He had to find some way to escape the deal. Maybe if the girl really didn't like, him, then she would speak to her own parents and they could call it off? Of course, he'd have to find out how lenient her family was, what the circumstances were. And to do that, he'd have to meet her.
Distracted by his thoughts, he hardly noticed that he was about to run into someone directly in front of him. Luckily, he had quick reflexes, and rather than his height limiting his movement, it almost helped him flow better. He twisted out of the way of the small, black-haired girl quickly, yet it the process, pulled his arms apart, dropping the animal for a slight second. He didn't even look at the girl he had narrowly avoided, yet reached for the falling animal and grabbed it again. He was sure that the cat would have been able to land on its feet, yet he took hold of it again anyways. Turning to glance over his shoulder, he muttered a quiet 'sorry', probably not even heard by the girl, and continued on his way as if nothing was wrong. If he had paid better attention and realized that she was frantically searching for something, then maybe he would have grown curious as to what, and realized that the animal was hers....yet, he was too focused on his own plans.
He was so handsome and cute, Maybe this will work out, Natasha thought to herself. Natasha out the bracelet on and smiled at Jack again, She had no idea what to say, this was the first time she felt special. Oh right... I am a vampire, Natasha thought to herself. Natasha didn't realize a blush pasted her cheeks, Maybe I can work this out.
Vixen hissed, but Elizabeth hushed her once more and the cat retreated a little as the dog moved away from the door. Elizabeth Aurora smiled at her host, unsure who he was, and replied in a respectful tone. As self concerned as she often was, she always had respect for those that respected her.
"My name is Elizabeth Aurora Beckett, I'm sorry if we disturbed you" She spoke quietly, wondering how much wine it would take to inebriate the man.
Serina listened to him speak with great interest and kept her eyes focused on him the entire time. She was excited to hear that he had brought along a pet too,Tundra would be most thrilled to have a play mate. She squeaked as the shrill whistle surprised her.
"You called? Ohhh... who's this?" she watched carefully as the dragon spoke and tried not to squirm as he sniffed her even though it tickled.
"Stop that. Be polite. This is Serina." . Serina smiled and and looked at Fireworm "why hello there" she said softly
Is this your mate?" The little Dragon asked curiously and Serina laughed and smiled
For the last time, we're not mates. She's my fiance." .
Serina shook her head "the term mate is quite alright I've heard it many times before" she said grinning at the little dragon "I actually have someone I want you to meet as well" she said and closed her eyes "tundra come here boy time to play" she called to her baby white tiger. Who came running clumsily into the room tripping over his feet the jumped into her lap snuggling her protectively.
"I actually have someone I want you to meet as well." Lukas raised an eyebrow.
"Tundra come here boy time to play!" Lukas listened to heavy paw steps when a little white tiger leapt onto the bed and into Serina's lap.
"Whoa. Whats that thing?" Fireworm was puzzled. He'd never seen anything like this strange creature.
"That's a tiger. Its actually a white one. They're very rare." Lukas informed the curious dragon. Fireworm crept up closer and gave Tundra an experimental sniff. Fireworm nudged his nose against Tundra's flank, burying his snout in his fur.
While SyKo waited for Sora to return she dozed off on the couch near the back door. Just a moment later she awoke with a start from a dream about ponies. "Oh, Sora you're back with Oranji." she said happily in the Dragon Language. Sora nodded as Oranji clumsily clambered off his head, gliding down to SyKo. The small orange dragon was barely bigger than a cat, for he had recently hatched. SyKo hugged Sora as he took off again. SyKo was about to walk to her room when Oranji slipped out of her grasp and dashed around everywhere. "Hey!" SyKo scolded, chasing after the little guy. She ran after him for a while, starting to get a bit tired. Suddenly, she saw him crash right through a door into someone's room.
That room was the room Lukas and Serina were in. SyKo ran inside then quickly started blushing. Oranji was currently sitting on top of a displeased looking Tundra. "Ah! Oh my god...I'm so sorry.." She said looking down apoligetically at her clasped hands. "I-I'll fix the hole in the door...r-right away.." She murmured quietly, her cheeks turning slightly more red. "I hope I...didn't interupt your conversation..."
"Yes he's a snow tiger if you look closely on his eyes you can see silver snowflakes" she said scratching under her pet's chin.
Tundra jumped when Fireworm sniffed him, the action had startled the poor cub. Who now hid behind Serina mewing shyly.
Serina shook her head "I'm sorry he's very much like me" she said "shy and easily frightened" she whispered the last part.
"Umm anyways tell me about your family any siblings or such" she asked as she watched Tundra roll over onto his back playing with his back paws.
Suddenly Tundra was tackled and was freaking out trying to get out from under Oranji. Serina had jumped as well startled by the door crashing open. She looked up at a rather flustered SyKo and shook her head "no no Hun it's fine I mean if anything Lukas could change in my room or something whenever he needed...or could stay there" she said softly not realizing what she was saying exactly.
She then stood up an moved to SyKo "I'm Serina by the way" she said offering a hand out to her.
"Oh Elisabetta! Moj lijepi, Očaravajući nevjesta!" Nikolai smiled a kind gentle smile. “Da, come in” he said moving away from the door, in order to allow her in. “Oh Pardon mi, I am getting ahead of myself.” He spoke feeling slightly anxious, he hadn't expected her to find him, and so soon. Neither did he expect her to be so lijep, so beautiful.
“I am Nikolai Negrescu.”
She was so much more than he expected, on the other hand he had anticipated a young girl of little to no real beauty and still a virgin. As he could feel a virgin a mile away, he knew this woman was far from it. Unless his intuition was off and it rarely ever was. After all he’s lived for some Sixteen hundred years, he knows how people act.
"Ah! Oh my god...I'm so sorry... I-I'll fix the hole in the door...r-right away... I hope I...didn't interrupt your conversation..."
Lukas let out a little chuckle. She was so awkward around others. It was rather funny.
Lukas glanced at the little orange dragon and Tundra tumbling on the floor. He strolled over to the two and grabbed the baby dragon by the scruff of his neck. Lukas held it in one hand. "Now. That wasn't very nice. What do you have to say for your self?" Lukas's voice was stern, but not unkind. The little dragon looked embarrassed and gave Tundra a quiet apology. "Good. Now go be a good little boy and listen to her." Lukas pointed to the maid, who's name he still didn't know. The baby dragon nodded and hopped out of Lukas's hand and walked over to the maid.
"No no Hun it's fine I mean if anything Lukas could change in my room or something whenever he needed...or could stay there." Lukas couldn't help but smirk a bit. He walked up behind Serina and leaned forwards, resting his chin on her head and wrapping his arms around her neck, draping them over her shoulders and chest in a sort of hug.
"I guess that could work..." He was smirking jokingly still, but Serina couldn't see that.
"It's beautiful... Thank you very much" Natasha said and smiled at him. Jack was relieved that she liked the bracelet.
"I'm glad you like it." Jack said and smiled widely. He really hoped that this marriage worked out. Natasha was a beautiful girl, she was very nice too. Jack thought that she would be a very good wife.
Jack realized that he really didn't know what to say and found himself getting increasingly nervous.
"How about we go sit down at the table over there and get to know each other more? " He said glancing over the table then smiling warmly at Natasha. He was anxious to learn more about the girl he was to marry. After all, He only knew her name and what she looked like.
Natasha smiled at Jack again, he was nervous but so was she, Natasha decided to start first making up her history as she went along.
"My name is Natasha Hope, which you already know, I have an elder brother and a younger sister, I grew up in the city and I have a pet wo- dog, I mean called Thunder and a few horses" Natasha realized she nearly said wolf.
"How about you?" Natasha smiled warmly at Jack, she couldn't believe he was her husband to be, I mean how could she resist her real self that long?
Natasha noticed a little ca sitting next to Jack, she smiled and stroked the cats fur, Jacks cat seemed to enjoy it, we'll she gussed it was Jacks cat. Natasha sooner stopped and paid attention to Jack, she couldn't believe soon she would be married to him whether she liked it or not.
J-H stormed out of the house, annoyed that his "bride" hadn't turned up yet. He looked for a quiet spot to sit and think. He saw there was a small willow he could sit under in privacy. I bet she's not even coming! He thought to himself has he plonked down on a root. He gently pulled out a squirrel from his pocket and put it in a branch above him. "You wouldn't understand would you?" He sighed and slumped into the willow, exasperated by all the happy couples he'd seen meeting each other. He didn't even know who he was going to marry yet! Still annoyed, he started to whittle a stick into the shape of a wand. He was also annoyed that his parents had never let him learn any magic when everybody else, even them, did. All his pent up anger let out in a roar, and he threw the wand at a clump of dirt that looked relatively like his father's head, and then threw another stick at a clump that looked like his mother's. He told himself to calm down, and lay quietly, hoping he would fall asleep and wake up from this nightmare that was his life.
