Charlotte looked out the window of her carriage, seeing mountains in the distance. "Father, I've always wanted to climb a mountain..." She said softly. She suddenly got lost in her thoughts of the prince. Would he be handsome and full of himself? Or homely and charming? She started mixing around blue eyes with brown hair and trying to think of every possible look he could have. Suddenly the carriage jerked to a stop. "Sorry there is a kitten in the road" The driver explained. Charlie hopped out of the carriage and picked up the kitten.
The kitten was round two weeks old. It was white but had a beige tail. It had bright blue eyes and looked like it may have been attacked. Charlie got back in the carriage with the kitten and her father was about to say something but didn't want to hurt her again
They arrived at Torage just around dinner time. She walked in and heard piano playing. She was holding the kitten as if it was the last drop of water in the world. Charlie had her hair down, with a braid around her head, for this was a special occasion. She had on one of her fanciest day gowns.
It was green but had a beige flowey shirt underneath. she knew it was fancy because it squeezed her so much. She walked into the dinning room behind the maids and they directed her to a seat near the end of the table. She saw two other princesses and two princes in here and decided to hear their opinions on this arrangement.
She looked at both of them. They looked similar so she presumed they must be sisters or cousins. They weren't dressed up like her, oh no. They were dressed in hunting clothes. Her father would have been so disappointed if she had come in her old dirty hunting clothes.
"So how do you two feel about having an
arranged marriage?" She asked them. The kitten yawned, and she kept petting it, hoping it would sleep. "Mam, I'm sorry but you cannot have a kitten in the palace." A maid said from behind her. "Well you're not kicking my kitten out" She argued. "Okay.... But may we put the kitten into another room?" The maid said softly. "Yes, but I must come with you, I have to make sure you aren't kicking her out", Charlie glanced at the princesses and said softly "One moment" as she walked out of the dining room.
They went into a small room. It had a couch and paintings on the walls. It seemed like a small empty room compared to home. She put the kitten back and whispered "I'll be back, I promise" then she walked out of the room, leaving the kitten there to destroy the couch or fall asleep. As she reentered the dinning room she curtseyed at the maid. She never forgot her manners. It had been around 12 minutes she had been gone and there seemed to be one extra prince in the room. She walked back to her seat, which was across from the older looking princess and sat down once more. "Where were we?" she smiled
