The great machine, Chaos, a pristine construct, an automated world, no gears, no pulleys, and no need for electricity. Parts of it seem even disconnected and float with only a thread of energy connecting them. The majestic machine constructed by the unworldly now abandoned and lonely. Hollow hallways stretch outward lined with pillars of disconnected fragments swirling around a central light not of fire or bulb, through cuts in in the floors and walls haunting light pulses towards some destination. Some of the only decorations within this massive temple-like setting is fountains, engraved symbols, statues protruding from the ground in central hub points resembling a kneeling female, doors with strange latches that open and close automatically, and the occasional furniture and beddings, the only reminders that other beings are here.

How you got here, you do not know. You remember everything before this point but not the actual ending up here. You have been landed in a strange circular courtyard of clear hard floors, and above an ethereal unnatural sky without a sun... but just a glow surrounded by rings of something. As you try to make some sense of all this you hear a cold male voice from seemingly nowhere.

"You have been selected to represent your world. Be your deeds glorious or infamous, it matters not here... I am Daemon Furor and I will be one of your arbiters... and I shall weigh the worth of your transient existence... but concern yourself only with one thing: victory. Victory is achieved by those who reach the core of Chaos, this world."

Another male voice comes in, sounding slightly less cold.

"Victory in overcoming the challenges placed upon you and reaching the center of Chaos means granting all that you may ever desire. As for myself, I am Daemon Metus, I mean you no malice, you have my deepest apol-."

Daemon Furor speaks again.

"The rules are very simple, do whatever you need to to be the one who wins. I will not lie to you, it will not be easy... after all... what is? But Pandora has graciously allowed you more than... you deserve... your 'skills' are all open to you and so are the tools of your particular... trades. We will be here watching, so sort things out among each other and begin following whichever path you desire."

With this the place once again grows somber and silent.

Without an exit in sight it seems the only way out is to play their game, to reach into the heart of Chaos.
