Kanon had to smile at the joke that Ash had just made. "Kinda corny Professor," He said as he leaned back against the wall, putting his hands behind his head to get comfortable.
"Those two can do what they want to decide who gets to choose first, I am fine getting whatever is left. My mom got her pokemon last and so will I," Kanon said as his mind wandered down memory lane. His mom had died ten years ago today...

Ten Years Ago
"Mom!" Kanon yelled as he ran into the house, "I got a perfect score on my tes..." He never finished his sentence, He noticed that his mother was lying face down on the floor.
"Mom!" Kanon shouted for a second time, this time the call was filled with urgency instead of jubilation, "Mom get up!" He said shaking her body but she didn't move. Kanon raced to the phone and grabbed it dialing for the police to come.
When they arrived they declared Kanon's mother dead, the cause of her death had never been discovered. Kanon knew in his heart that the death was not a natural one, but he also knew his mother would want him to be successful and happy.

Present
"This is all for you..." Kanon said softly as he shed a single tear, today marked the 10th anniversary of his mothers death.

*(I see we're still continuing the series running gag of naming Professors after trees. :3 xD)*

"Oh, I didn't see you there. Hello, my name is Professor Ash and I'm guessing you're the new trainers? Let's begin then, shall we? You must be Kanon, and you Tekno? Ah yes, Adrian! Good good. You're all here. Now, let me say this, you three are about to embark on a grand adventure. What mysteries might you solve, who knows, but your story starts now." Said Ash as he looked at the three new trainers. He looked over at his assistant who brought out three pokeballs and set them on the table nearby. "Now then, within each pokeball I have a rare pokemon. Near extinct pokemon, though you might find them as not the greatest right now, trust me, they have potential. Each of these are your basic Fire, Water, Grass starter, but with caring love and hard work, they grow strong enough to balance out and become even in the battlefield. You see, Dark is weak to Fighting as Fighting is weak to Psychic and Psychic weak to Dark. These pokemon will balance out in this manner, don't ask me how or why. Pokemon are mysterious creatures and I am trying to solve the mystery of their existence. Now then, shall we get started? How shall we figure this out? Youngest to oldest? Rock, Paper, Scissors?"

Tekno Lahjik stood in the middle of the room, arms crossed lightly. He smirked, shaking his head. He glanced over towards Kanon, who had smiled.

"Kinda corny Professor," He said as he leaned back against the wall, putting his hands behind his head to get comfortable. "Those two can do what they want to decide who gets to choose first, I am fine getting whatever is left. My mom got her pokemon last and so will I,"

The young mechanist paused as he spotted a single tear sliding down the side of the young man's face, while it was all for someone. Confused as to who he was giving it for, the mechanic figured it had to be somebody he was close to. It had to be a family issue, or at perhaps just a close friend. He was a bit concerned, but now wasn't the time nor the place to pry into somebody else's personal life.

"Well, in that case, I suppose I'll go first." Tekno stated, stepping forward. He looked over the PokeBalls, and the displays that were set forth on the three Pokemon available. ...All of which Tekno had never seen before. Hell, this entire region had Pokemon that he had never seen before. Tekno had hailed from the region of Vokhan which was--relative to Psyonica, at least--completely on the opposite side of the planet. All of these Pokemon were unusual--foreign, to him. In front of him were three he had at least taken the liberty to do a bit of research on before coming to the lab this morning.

The first one was Krish, a Water type. Used to be found in great numbers, the Wailord population hunted them for food until they were all but extinct. They would evolve into Crall and Kinetiboster, both of which were also Psychic type. ...That had intrigued him, because his parents Nero Lahjik and Saika Lahjik were the Gym Leaders of Selenium City back in Vokhan, which specialized in Psychic types. However, while Tekno thought it would be amusing, he personally was more interested in taking a different direction than his parents, following his own path instead of their example...

Imber was the next one, a Fire type. Fire was interesting to Tekno, as he was a mechanist and inventor...and a LOT of machines, predominately automobiles, used some sort of internal combustion. However, Imber were known for being mischievous, to the point of being brats from what his research had told him. Of course, Tekno was sure that sort of behavior could be easily curbed with the proper training and if raised properly...but Imber evolved into the part-Dark type Garblaze and Bombardemon, the former of which was lazy and the latter of which was said to be so hot it was constantly conflagrant. ...The thought of being burned, as well as a Pokemon that was perpetually aflame probably wouldn't be propitious for his automations.

Which left the Grass type, Tealth. It wasn't particularly powerful, but it WAS fast. Again, Tekno assumed that weakness could be curved by proper training...and he was sure that the said weakness would be counteracted by the fact that once it evolved, it would become part Fighting type. Heh...now THERE was an interesting antithesis to his to parent's Psychic training. On top of that, it being a Grass type put it slightly at odds against Tekno's mechanical nature...though Tekno never designed anything in mind that wasn't eco-friendly, so...

The young man shook his head, realizing he was being over-analytical. Again.

"I think the choice should be fairly obvious to me," He spoke at least. "I'll go ahead and take the Grass starter, Tealth."

Of course, it would definitely be interesting, that was for damned sure. Besides, it was said Grass types were easy to raise, right?

Adrian Sarno was in doubt. He was irritated that he had not been the first to choose. It was his battleplan from the get-go. Get the pokemon first, and it would be the strongest. But, this time his plan did not come to fruition. That Tekno kid had beaten him to selection. He had picked the grass type. Now, Adrian was most definetly not a person to pick a grass type pokemon, but he hated to lose a selection, even if that selection was out of the question.
The water type vaguely interested him. It was a water type after all, and had mutiple reasons it could be used effectivly, but none of them seemed to satisfy the bloodthirsty trainer. He did not need a pokemon who can break your spine with his mind, he needed a pokemon that could reach into an enemy back, show Adrian his victims horrified look when he begins to rip out his spine.
The Fire type is what interest him the most, Imber, it would grow into a dark type, something Adrian did not paticuarly enjoy out of all of them, but not too bad as compared to psychic type, which he hated with a burning passion. Psychics can tap into your innermost secrets, something Adrian finds both disturbing and sickening. Adrian loves having his own little secrets, keeping everyone else in the dark about him, but what does that mean to a stupid pokemon with a weird built up brain? Absolutly nothing, and it pisses him off.
" I want the fire type."Adrian said, prouncing his world slowly and with effect.

Kanon shrugged and walked over, grabbing the last pokeball. "Guess that leaves me with the water type," Kanon sais as he flipped the pokeball up into the air over his head and spun around easily catching the ball behind his back.
"So Professor, what exactly are we supposed to do with these guys? There has to be some catch to you giving us these pokemon..." Kanon shrugged as he shoved the pokeball into his pocket and leaned against the wall again.
What exactly do you want old man? He thought to himself as he relaxed.

As Tekno continued to chase the one Mankey, it quickly gained speed as it swung away from the young man, before disappearing into the trees entirely. Stopping, and moving to catch his breath, he leaned down to press his hands against his knees. His eyes closing a small bit, he heaved lightly as he rested up. Running full-sprint was not something he did often, and it was something he figured he would need to work on as he traveled.

Glancing up as Tealth glanced up at him, having easily caught up to its trainer, the young man noticed a brown, fuzzy shape in the grasses some distance off. Confused, Tekno took a few steps over to it cautiously, only to realize--

"It's another Mankey." He mumbled out loud, though more to himself than anything. However this Mankey looked far more beaten up. It was unconscious, and its left eye appeared to be swollen shut. It didn't appear to be critically injured--nothing a good night's rest and possibly an ice pack couldn't fix--but the young man appeared to be contemplative of something. It didn't seem right, since he didn't battle it, but...well, hell, if it just laying there...

The young man decided to lazily toss a PokeBall at it, figuring if nothing else he'd have it treated at the Pokemon Center and release it later. Picking up the ball as it stopped shaking, Tekno slipped it into his pocket and nonchalantly continued to walk down the path, whistling away as if nothing had happened.

Kanon had fallen asleep under a tree as soon as he found a nice shady spot and when he opened his eyes he saw another person walking along the route.
"Hey are you a trainer? That's cool I am too, but I don't really like this thing...." Kanon said as he released the Krish from its pokeball. "I prefer things can actually do something," He finished and laughed at his joke punching the air a couple times and practicing his moves.
"What's your name?" He asked as he got more serious.

(Sorry for shortness didnt know what to do)

A rare pokemon?! This must be fate! Kanon screamed to himself. "Alright Axel you have a deal," Kanon said as he grabbed the egg and returned Krish to its pokeball handing it to the other trainer, "One question...how does this thing hatch?"
