Haruhi

Haruhi woke up, yawning a bit, then he fell out of bed when he noticed the time on his alarm clock. What!? He screamed mentally in his head. How could mom let me sleep in this late!? He scrambled to his feet grabbing his typical school uniform. Boys never really had unique uniforms.. Just plain black or blue. He was grateful that Sanctuary's uniforms were black. He slipped it all on, then his glasses, not even bothering to comb his hair. I'm late, I'm so late! Touya was right, I am definitely not cut out for Sanctuary High! He ran downstairs, noticing his mother was just cooking away, "Mom! Why didn't you wake me up?!" He asked distressed, panting a bit from his rush, brown eyes looking at her expecting an answer. His mother just turned on her heel, handing him a glass of orange juice, "You said you wanted to be like Touya, so I chose to let you wake up on your own. Touya does every morning." She replied blinking innocently.

Haruhi drank the orange juice as he listened to her reasoning for letting her son be late, then he face palmed instantly, "Mom! I said I'm trying to be more like him, not that I'm there yet!" and he sat the glass on the table, running for the front door, "Bye-bye!" and he grabbed his shoes, running out the door in his socks. Well, one thing could never be said about Haruhi. He didn't lack determination. The brown haired boy sped as fast as he could down the street, ignoring the sting of his feet hitting the concrete sidewalk. I can't be late. I can't. I just can't! I got to prove to Touya that I deserve to go to Sanctuary.. that I belong there. This definitely isn't a very good start though! He almost didn't notice it, but he ran through traffic, barely missing an oncoming car! Haruhi screamed an apology at the shouting driver, but he didn't stop running for anyone or anything. His eyes and smile lit up when he saw the building in the distance, "I just might make it!" and.... he tripped. Right in front of the gate, "O-ow.." Then he heard a stern voice, "Hey, kid. Do you have a student ID card?" A man dressed in an all black suit and sunglasses asked from his side of the gate. Haruhi nodded, digging into his pocket and flashing the man his student identification from his wallet, "Yeah.." He grinned with a slight blush, biting his bottom lip nervously. He'd seriously embarrassed himself already. The gates opened at the signal of the guard and he ushered for Haruhi to step inside. He quickly did so, not wanting to anger the guard more than he had to. That guy was at least six foot.. compared to Haruhi's scrawny 5'6''..

Haruhi looked around, mouth agape as he stared in awe. The buildings were beautiful. You'd think it was built just yesterday by the condition they were in. His eyes instantly fell on the Gold dorm. It looked like a Castle, just without towers. It was marvelous. Then he looked back at his ID card. Silver? He looked around, then noticed a Building that resembled a 2 star hotel. Well.. it kind of figures.. He laughed aloud to himself. How was I thinking I'd get to stay somewhere as splendid as Gold dorm? He shook his head, looking around for his bags. He was sure he'd sent them in.. Oh! They were probably in his room already! He rushed over to Silver dorm, sliding his ID card into the key slot, and opened the door, "Security sure is tight here.." and he went upstairs after eyeballing the lounge. It looked great compared to the outside of the building. Then he noticed a hall of doors, each having a name written in silver letters on a slide bar.. "Oh.. we're bound to change then.. So I do have a chance for Gold dorm?" He saw his name was on the first door to the left, across from his was someone named Verin, then next to him was Kagura, and diagonal from his door was Taos. Alright.. At least he knew his neighbors names. He slid into his room, a scream of shock instantly emitting from his mouth, "EH!?" Everything was...unpacked neatly. They went through my stuff!?

Hunter barely got up a while ago, and started getting ready for school. He put on his uniform and checked his bag to see if he packed anything else he needed for the dorm he was assigned to. Scanning his bag, he forgot to pack his favorite plush toy and shampoo. Taking his time walking like a slug towards the bathroom he grabbed the shampoo, looking around his surroundings he also grabbed his shaver. "Can't believe I almost forgot this." He mumbled to himself. Shaking his head, he bee lined towards his bedroom and packed his favorite plush toy that he got from America. It reminded him of home. He grabbed the plush and secretly gave it a hug, after he placed in neatly in his bag.

The boy never ate breakfast, he went downstairs. His mother was cooking pancakes, with eggs and hash browns. He thought to himself "Eh, why not have my last meal for a while with my mom since dad's gone." He already said his goodbye's to his father last night, before he left on a business trip in America. He sat down at the table, his mom gave him a bright morning smile. She was the morning person of the house. "Here! Eat up!"She exclaimed while scooping off the food from the frying pan.

After breakfast he thanked his mother and gave her a hug before she left. His mother patted his head and said "Now Hunter, make our family proud and do your best this year." Hunter gave her a nod, as a sign of agreement.
He grabbed his bad and started walking towards the school. It wasn't that far of a walk, plus he couldn't drive himself there. He was too lazy to take his driving test. "Ugh, walking is such a drag." He grunted to himself.

Finally he arrived at the Silver Dorm's wing. When he got into his bedroom and placed his bag on top of his bed, a sudden loud squeal came out of no where. Hunter hated loud people, but since he had nothing else to do he peaked out of his door and turned his head from left to right in the hallway. He saw a guy he's never seen before squealing in his room. He shrugged his shoulders and walked down the hall. "Is everything alright?"He asked the astonished boy.

Kagura

It was early morning about two hours before his everything at Sanctuary High started once again. After getting the news a few months ago about the changes, he figured today there may be a little change in the atmosphere but nothing too wild. He lifted himself up and moved the sheets before suddenly his cellphone rang. It was his mother, although most would wonder why anyone would call at 5 a.m. It was a normal thing on the first day for Kagura. His mother only had time in the early morning when she woke up and felt that she could at least get him up for now. Kagura never minded and always answered politely to see what she had to say. His finger's grabbed the phone that sat lightly on the desk next to his bed and answered it immediately.

"Hello, mother.."

She giggled immediately once he answered the phone realizing that it didn't take him 2 calls to get him to answer. "You're up, I see. This is a first"

"Yeah, I'm also surprised myself but anyway's I'll be sure to make you proud this year" Kagura said gently.

"I'm proud of you every year, anyways I need to let you go... You know how it is for me. I love you." She spoke softly before a beep at the end appeared obviously showing she had hung up. Kagura smiled before getting out of bed, stretching and immediately after going into the bathroom to shower. By the end of his shower which woke him up completely it was 5:40. He dried his hair quickly before styling it in his normal wild style and then focused on getting dressed in his uniform. He grabbed his wallet, cellphone and keys sliding them into his pocket and then decided to grab his things before advancing towards the front door. Along the way, he looked to the counter and noticed a picture of him and his mother from the summer. He immediately grabbed it sliding it into his bag before moving forward.

After locking the door behind him moving from the apartment building he decided to go a little down the sidewalk to get some coffee at a near by cafe. This was something Kagura did typically in the morning if he had time. He sat down by the window and watched the sunrise quietly as he slowly drank his coffee. At the same time however he took out his student ID noticing he was once again in the silver dorm. This never really phased him although his mother when she had time would attempt to get him in the gold. He shook his head to the idea saying quietly that it never mattered for me. He pulled his cellphone out realizing that it was only 30 minutes till 7... He immediately got up leaving a tip before moving out.

Kagura finally made it to the gates of Sanctuary High. He had his ID ready of course being use to the procedure and moved towards the silver dorm. He noticed a few faces that may have looked familiar but no one he was entirely acquainted with along the way. After making his way through the lounge to his own. He immediately unlocked his door and looked around after taking a few steps in shortly after setting his things down he suddenly heard what sounded like a yelp and then shortly after another voice. He sat his things down and moved out of his room walking over to Haruhi's room.

"yo... I heard a yelp, Is everything ok..?"

Yuri groaned as her alarm rang, "Uh," was her best attempt at words this early as she smashed down hard on the incessant thing.
Rubbing her eyes, she opened the to the alarming image of Maaya's (Her youngest sister) face staring down at her.
"Aye, you are lazy aren't you Ms. 'Haha I get to go to an all boys school'." She grins, poking Yuri's forehead before scampering off.
Yuri groaned again and flipped her legs over the side of her bed and into her favourite, badly worn slippers.

She slipped to the bathroom, still rubbing her eyes and then turning to look at the large, slightly blurry as her eyes were just adjusting to the light, clock. Brilliant She thinks to herself, I'm going to be late for my first day.
Yuri then runs into the shower and washes as quickly as possible.
Dry, she grabs her uniform and shoves it on, looked odd to her as she'd never really had a uniform before but she just shrugged as she walked over to the mirror, examining her reflection.
Her onyx black hair was messy but her clothes looked fine, not too baggy nor too tight.
She grabs her mother's brush and drags it through her hair, finishing by putting it in a high ponytail.

She runs downstairs, her Grandma already waiting for her with a small bento box in hand.
Yuri grins as she takes it, the smell delicious - She doesn't care whether the school has food from the poshest most amazing catering company nothing, and that means nothing beats Grandma Izumi's homemade duck and sticky rice.

Yuri almost drawls as she thinks this but sighs at the realisation that she can't have it until lunch.
"Thanks Obaa-chan." She says, using the Japanese way of saying Grandma and kissing her on the cheek.
She then grabs her black backpack and slings one strap over her shoulder, heading for the kitchen.
There she find her sisters, all still in their brightly coloured pajamas.
"Bye Maaya." She says, kissing her little sisters head.
She then sneaks a herbal cake (Her Grandma's original recipe) and says goodbye to her two other, older, sisters - Mai and Koemi.

Rushing out the house she hugs her Obaa-chan before shutting their cherry-red door and swiftly walking down the street.
Luckily they didn't live too far from the school and she didn't have to drag her massive bags along with her - They were already at the school.

Entering the gates her mouth almost hangs open, she bites on her lip before entering the grand grounds and looks at her student I.D.
"Silver," She says to herself and looks around spotting first a massive almost castle like building you would expect royalty to have and then a smaller building that although nowhere near as grand, looked more homely.

She decided the less flashy building was probably hers and made her way over, walking up the steps and entering.
Yuri then looks around this house and sure enough, it is gorgeously furnished but in a way that you don't think you're not supposed to be there.

Yuri runs up a flight of stairs and makes her way into a hallway full of doors.
Looking at the nameplate she soon finds hers and walks inside, grinning at the realisation that she won't have to share with her sisters anymore.

It is then she hears a small squeal and frowns a little.
"What on earth?" She whispers and goes to check it out, sure enough she finds a boy, his door open and his room - Seemingly ordinary.

Was he screaming because it wasn't as fancy as he was used to? Or was he injured? Was there a fire?

Just as she was about to say something another boy appears and asks him the question she was just about to.

Haruhi

Haruhi didn't get much time after his initial reaction to cover up his embarrassing noise. Before he knew it a small crowd was forming by his bedroom. His brown eyes widened and he felt his face immediately heat up in his embarrassment. Touya would've never done something that humiliating.. He thought to himself, dropping his head and tensing a bit. He nodded slowly when he heard the first question, "Y-yeah.." He responded, closing his eyes with a sigh. Calm down Haruhi.. just explain yourself.. They'll understand, right?

He turned around to face the first, a boy with brown hair as well, who seemed to be an upperclassmen, "Sorry.. my name's Haruhi Fujioka.." He smiled wearily before holding his hand out towards Hunter, "I'm a Freshmen.. I didn't expect them to go through my stuff like this.. I was a little upset.. I didn't mean to be so loud." He ran his free hand through his hair nervously. His hair was messy and spiky, brown hair, brown eyes. Was this kid really Touya Fujioka's little brother? They were polar opposites physically and personality wise. Then he tensed when he heard another male voice, noticing the guy had bright red hair. Woah, I didn't know that was a hair color until now.. Then he shook his head, realizing how rude he was being by staring, "Yeah.. I was a little shocked that all my stuff was unpacked.." Haruhi explained himself again. I'm totally a goof. They probably think I'm some sort of clown.. He sighed in a short moment of depression. I really don't belong here.. every moment I stand here is reminding me how much I don't fit in..

Haruhi blinked when he noticed one of the girls standing in front of them, blinking a bit before chewing on his bottom lip. He shoved his hands in his pockets. He wasn't ecstatic about the school housing girls this year, but he wasn't going to be cruel, "Sorry if I worried you. Nothings wrong. Welcome to.. Sanctuary High.." Haruhi grinned. It was a little forced, but he seemed kind enough while waving over to Yuri. I don't want them here.. It just makes it more complicated to prove myself to- He then went wide eyed, blushing again and instantly bowing, "I-I don't know if you heard me earlier or not.." He glanced up to Yuri and Kagura before continuing his rambled, "B-but I'm Haruhi Fujioka.." He mumbled to them, "I really almost forgot to properly introduce myself.." Haruhi stood back up straight, adjusting his uniform. For a boy he was pretty skinny and short.. and kind of.. feminine looking. He wasn't going to fare very well. Not to mention his confidence issues. He'd have a hard time fitting in and staying out of the way of bullies if he didn't make some friends or change his attitude. The sad part was, Touya didn't seem to care at all if his little brother got ripped apart by the student body. In a strangers perspective, you'd assume it was just a coincidence they had the same last name. There was no indication that they were related besides the fact a few people in town grew up with them and knew better. It was pretty sad really, but Haruhi was on his own, "You might know my brother.. Touya..?" He asked sweatdropping, "We're nothing alike however...Just.. Nevermind" and he dropped his head again, closing his eyes in defeat. He was not good at communication with others at all..

Hunter gave out a slugish sigh. "Well at least you're not hurt or anything." Scratching the back of his head, he introduced himself to the small crowd that piled up to check up on Haruhi. "My name's Hunter Nobuyuki, and I'm a junior, this is my third year attending this school." He turned his head around and saw that the small crowd was made up of one of his classmates that he's never talked to before, and one of the new students who just happened to be one of the rare girls who now attend the school.

He gave a small pat on the freshmen's back. "It's alright buddy, I was quite pissed off when they went through my stuff too. At least they managed to organize everything neatly, and was manageable."The boy's brother's name came to his mind. "Ah, he's a senior? I've heard of him before and see him all of the time, but I never actually had a conversation with the guy." Analyzing the boy's face he was right, they looked nothing alike. Could one of them be adopted? Oh well who knows, Hunter really didn't care.

Turning to the two new students he asked "Well, I might not be much help but if there's anything I can help you guys with I'm sure I can try my best.." He insisted. "So if you don't need me, I will get back to my room." Pointing towards his room with his thumb.

Yuri nods "Well it was nice to meet you," She smiles genuinely, he doesn't seem mean but she sort of gets the feeling he doesn't really want her here, and she can't blame him, this school was meant to be only for boys so it must be a bit of a shock.
"Oh!" she exclaims, how could I forget to introduce myself? She mentally kicks herself "I'm Yuri."

She looks at the boy who just introduce himself as he walks off and decides to copy him, "I'll see you around." she says to no one in particular walking back to her room.
They better not have looked through my sketchbook. She thinks to herself walking around in the room.
It was very nice, the bed looked comfy and warm, there was a big window just above her chest-of-drawers surrounded by warm honey curtains and a floor-length mirror on the left side of the room.

walking over to her bed she sits down, wondering where they may have put her sketchbook, it wouldn't be in the chest of drawers, how about the bedside table?
Leaning over she opens the maple draw and sure enough, her plain black pad was there, well concealed behind her mother's hairbrush and a box of lavender scented tissues.
As she leans back something squeaks under her leg and she jumps, standing up to see the mysterious squeaking object.

Looking down at the bed she sees a small teddy lion and her heart breaks a little "Haru," She whispers, picking it up "Oh I miss you."
Sighing she sits down yet again and puts the toy safely under her pillow, re-picking up her sketchpad and opening it, looking through her old drawings a faint breeze come from the open door.

"Damn," She says, realising her bedroom door was still open, she stands up again to close it, "how on earth did I forget to close the door?"

He shook his classmates hand. When he left the room he addressed to Kagura "I'll see you in class then."
Hunter never really associated with anyone from his class or hand any close friends, he just came to the Academy due to his good grades. He actually has no clue what he wants to do with his life after he graduates. Two more years to make a decision.

"Well I can see that everything is set here, if you need help with anything I'm right down the hall. If there's any place you could find me after school would probably be my room most likely or the baseball field. Hunter waved his hand to Haruhi and left his room.

Once Hunter reached his room, he unpacked his stuff neatly. It was almost time for class, he was in a bit of a hurry to get everything organized here and there. Hunter hasn't done this much activity in a while since he quit baseball maybe. His whole summer he would just sleep, play video games or solve tricky math puzzles. This year was going to be interesting with the new freshmen and the new girl students. Hunter hasn't been in a co-ed school ever since the Academy. In America growing up he was in a co-ed school until the end of eight grade. Everything changed when he and his family moved back to Japan.

Verin sat up and looked at the clock. He had an hour and a half to get his brother up and ready. Grabbing his glasses, he dressed and checked his bag. Laptop, notebooks and pencils were all aligned and in their proper places. Shouldering the simple messenger bag, he sauntered out of his room and across the hall to his brothers. The elder Yukimura was curled not on the large king size bed but on the large backed chair, surrounded by his blankets and sheet music.

"Onii-san." He walked over, shaking his head. A gentle nudge and the gold colored eyes appeared. Verin smiled softly before he pointed to the clock on the wall. "One hour, Ion." He told the panicking elder, who nodded a thank you and was rushing to pack. Shaking his head again, he wandered through the large house. He entered the dining room to find no one in there. His father was most likely still asleep. His step mother wasn't even in the house, if he had to guess. Growling softly, he padded through the rooms until he was at the front door. Slipping on his shoes, he looked back at the ghost house and left, out the door. He thought of asking the family driver to take him to the school but he was alright with allowing his brother to take the car to the school.

AS he reached the gates, he flipped his hood up. The guard recognized him better with it up anyways. Slipping into the gates, he headed straight for his dorm, the Silver dorm. As he entered his section, he noticed the large crowd near his door. Flipping out his laptop, he scanned the group before his eyes flit over the files he had collected. Quite a few interesting people, he mused as he closed the device and slipped it back into his bag. He still sighed softly and pulled his hood closer to his face. He managed to reach his door and open it. Everything important was there, violins, hard drives and the one photo of him and his brother. Closing and locking the door, he slipped away from his door and out the dorm door, hoping no one noticed his skinny form.

Haruhi

Haruhi was confused by the crowd, getting lost in his own head until he realized he was completely alone. He sweatdropped, slapping himself across the forehead, "They probably think you're some kind of freak!" He snapped at himself, then noticed the time on his watch, "S-shit!" and he ran instantly, before skidding to a halt at the end of the hallway, "My stuff!" and he ran back to his room, slinging the door open and frantically pacing around until locating his pencils and notebooks before scooping them up and restarting his dash for class. "I can't believe I'm already at risk of being late and it's my first day!" Haruhi whined to himself, exiting Silver dorm and dashing for the large building in the center of the campus, the school itself..

He adjusted his glasses as he flung the front door open, almost unable to keep his panic silent as he realized just how huge the interior was and how hopeless of an attempt finding his class would be. Why does this always happen to me? Touya never had any problems like this when he first attended Sanctuary.. The small brunette went wide eyed when he laid eyes on his older brother for the first time since school began. His eyes were icy blue, his posture refined and confident.. him and Haruhi were nearly from separate worlds, possibly galaxies. They were nothing alike.. yet it was almost expected for them to be related, a grand cliche. The confident successful older brother being pursued by the clumsy little brother who resembled the little engine that could. Haruhi shook his head, he couldn't think like that. He was only beating himself up. At this rate he'd never even stand a chance of comparing to his brother. Touya didn't beat himself up like this.. Haruhi clenched his fists, running past his brother quickly, pretending to ignore him.

Haruhi finally made it to class, blinking when he realized there was only one classroom for each grade. Wow. Only twenty of the top freshmen in the region made it into Sanctuary? He blushed a bit, rubbing the back of his head. He felt a little accomplished, but then he remembered that everyone in the room earned the same achievement as him, feeling considerably less special. Why did he always bring himself down like that? Haruhi was his own worst enemy. Haruhi sat towards the middle of the classroom so to not be distracted by the windows or the whispering in the back of the room, but to not seem like a teacher's pet by sitting in the front. He wanted the most equilibrium possible. Standing out wasn't really his priority, at least not at the moment. He wanted to get a good feel of the classroom and how advanced the homework and open discussion questions would be. The last thing he wanted to do is make a fool of himself. He noticed plenty of boys he'd never seen before were already seated, staring at the seat in front of him and across from him. He was... such a loner. He didn't have any friends..

"I wonder when everybody will finally pour in? Maybe I've met some of my classmates already.." Haruhi whispered to himself.

Kagura
Kagura smiled and scratched his head with a light blush on his face in embarrassment and nodded when he noticed the two girl's expression.

β€œI sometimes can't tell the direction of where i hear things when i play my guitar, I most likely did hear it from the outside or so... Anyways.. Nice to meet you Luz, My name Is Kagura Demuri and don't worry about crashing the school. I always preferred co-education anyways. And I do believe i met you only minutes ago...” He smiled. Shortly after the girls began to talk and for a moment he did feel like he was in a ackward situation until he saw the purple haired dude he usually had seen in the hall. He realized he had given him a signal for an all clear and what not and Kagura smirked looking both ways with his eyes and nodded. It was then when he slipped his hands into his pockets and turned his head slightly when he Haruhi appeared out of his room. His eyes widened when he saw the boy run down the hall in a panic.

He chuckled. β€œIt appears classes are starting soon... I wonder If we're going to be called in for an opening ceremony...” He spoke quietly to himself before turning to the others.

β€œI believe we'll be taking our leave for now, the freshman that just ran down the hall kinda gives me a vibe that we'll be late if we continue talking here. I'll see you both around” He smiled before raising his right hand in a wave. He then went into his room before grabbing his case. He didn't bother taking off his guitar because he figured he'd use it in between classes. He then walked out and locked the door then went straight out of the dorms.

After walking to the building where his classroom was he slipped in noticing some familiar faces yet none he was too aqcuainted with. He went to his window seat towards the middle of class, sat his things down beside his desk and stared out the window waiting for his teacher or for someone that would talk to him. It became natural for some people to give their hellos on the first day and he was ready. Although Kagura may not start the conversations, He's always willing to keep them going or to at a minimal reply.

Verin sighed, looking at the watch on his wrist. He had several minutes before the class even started to fill with students but here he was, sitting in the middle row, close to the window, just were he liked. He wasn't one to get to classes early but he had nothing better to do but set up his desk. His laptop rested on top, open, the cover completely clean of any personalization. The keys were worn but Verin, in a fit of boredom, used a silver marker and re-wrote all the letters back onto the black plastic. He didn't really need to but it was fun while he did it.

Verin noticed one Haruhi Fujioka sitting a couple seats away from him but couldn't find a reason to care. Though, maybe the other male could give him insight on his "perfect" brother. He shook the thought away, that would require the natural recluse to open up and talk to another human being that wasn't related. He tugged on his hood more and cleaned his glasses, two very normal habits of his, but they seemed almost nervous, even to himself. He opened up a couple files on some of the other freshman, making sure to hide the pictures, and read over them, checking and fixing grammatical errors as he went.

He turned to look out the window, his eyes catching the clouds as they floated past. Not even looking at the screen, he opened a new document file and began to type, whatever came to mind. Words were twisted into a beautiful sentence and laid onto a virtual, white canvas. Tales of little green doves and wide open skies swam through his mind as the class filled into the room. He paid them no mind, as he was too busy writing his latest story.
