Everett held the phone up between his shoulder and ear, reaching into his pocket to take out his pack of Marlboro's and a lighter. "So, how long do you think the lesson will be?"

He smirked, wide and painfully as his bottom lip split and a small droplet of blood dribbled onto his chin." Shit..." he mumbled, pushing his sleeve up to dab the blood."Shouldn't be too long babe, the kid barely even realizes I'm there she's so into the music. He figured he could probably swing getting out of it earlier if he gave the kid a few extra sheets to practice. Swoop in, give the kid a few new pieces to play, and then get to be with his girl. If he could get a couple more smokes in through the day, it would be the picture of perfection for him. He carefully lit the end of his smoke, putting it between his lips and inhaling in the sweet nicotine.

"But yeah, I'm completely up for some smores and snuggling but you know I'd never force you into anything." He didn't like being in charge nearly as much as he enjoyed her being in control. She was fiery, passionate, and completely adorable. Breaking from his thought, the corner of his eye caught sight of his next pupils house and he knew he'd have to hang up soon. "Listen babe, I'm at the house already . How about I swing by Starbucks and pick you up something before we head to the bonfire, alright?"He stopped walking, pressing the phone tighter to his face as if that would bring them closer together. "I love you, and I'll see you in a bit."

He pulled the phone away from his ear and promptly clicked the small red "end" button . Sliding it back into his pocket, he continued towards the large yellow house and knocked on the door with his bare knuckles. A white cloud of his moist breath burst from his mouth, dissapearing as quickly as it came when a pint sized blonde little girl opened the door.

"Heya Natalie."

She raised an eyebrow and peered down at her white and pink Hello Kitty watch. "You're almost three minutes late, I've been waiting." He rolled his eyes and walked past the girl, closing the door behind him.

He didn't relish the thought of telling Sonya that he was probably going to be late. Really later.

Sonya Chang

Sonya heard him mutter something to himself. She couldn't make up what he said. She didn't give it much thought as he spoke again."Shouldn't be too long babe, the kid barely even realizes I'm there she's so into the music."

She smiled, hoping that was true. She just wanted to be with her guy. To kiss him, to wrap her arms around his neck, and to be in his arms. She was brought back to reality once he spoke again. "But yeah, I'm completely up for some smores and snuggling but you know I'd never force you into anything." She sighed. She knew that was true, but it was worth a shot to her. She just hated the feeling of her pushing Everett to do things. One, he was older than her. And, two, she wanted to be his girlfriend that he loved. Not the boss he couldn't stand to be around. "I know, I know. But, I just hate feeling that i'm bossing you around." She never meant to. It was just her personality, being in charge and having every little thing the way she liked it. Perfect.

"Listen babe, I'm at the house already . How about I swing by Starbucks and pick you up something before we head to the bonfire, alright?" It disappointed her, knowing they would have to hang up soon. She was a small puppy dog when it came to Everett. Loving to have attention from him and hated being away from him for too long. But, she smiled knowing the sooner they hung up, the sooner they could actually be in each other's arms. Feeling of security and love always filled her when she was around her boyfriend. Even if she never said it to him in order not to seem weak, but he was her protector. The one person other than her family, she knew would be there to protect her whenever she needed to be protected. "Alright baby. I would like that... alot." She removed a piece of her hair away from her pale, baby doll looking face before putting the phone back to her ear. Just in time to hear Everett say goodbye. "I love you too, baby."

She blew a kiss into the phone before hearing him hang up. She slipped her phone into her small purse that attached to her wrist by a small string. She walked back out on to the floor. She wanted to finish her work so that she would be able to go home early. Seeing how she had most of her hours, hopefully she would be able to. She returned to the front as if nothing happened, to complete her work on time.

"HOW ABOUT EVERYONE IN THIS TOWN LEARN TO FREAKING DRIVE."

He was late. Already thirty minutes late because the brat had decided that today of all days she wanted to learn the beginnings of Carmens La Habanera. He was now tapping his fingers impatiently on his steering wheel of his black Toyota Tundra , as several teenagers [clearly new drivers], turned without putting on their turn signals. Instead of staying behind them, he held onto the recently purchased mocha frappe, contained in the trademark Starbucks plastic cup, firmly in it's holder while he pushed down on the gas. Leaving them in his dust gave him small satisfaction, but it didn't change his lateness.

Finally, forty five minutes after he was supposed to be at Sonya's work originally, his usual parking spot unfilled outside of his girlfriends work. He put the truck into park once he managed to get the spot and slid his seat back into a comfortable position. He picked up his phone out of the passenger side seat and decided to text her.

"Sorry I was late babe, I really did think the kid would let me go early. I'm outside whenever you're ready to go."

He put the phone down, resting it in his lap while he ran his fingers through his beard. He contemplated whether he actually did want to go to the bonfire or not. He had plenty of friends, but there were going to be people Sonya didn't like very much there and he knew that drama would eventually ensue. Besides, the only reason he even agreed to going was for the snuggling..and smores. Kisses and chocolate were the only thing keeping him from spending another night watching the Sci-fi channel and killing off the remainder of his brain cells.

Sonya Chang

Looking at the clock, Sonya wasn't just getting impacient. She was also getting a bit worried. She was a very cynical person. Always thinking the worst when it came to people she cared for. She tapped her small foot on to the marble flooring. She wanted to leave, to be alone with her boyfriend. She rolled her eyes before walking to her small station where all her tools were all nicely put away in their storage compartment. Which happened to be right next to her friend, James's station. Who was too busy on a client to talk to her. She sighed, looking at a picture she had up of her and Everett together that was on the corner of her large glass mirror. It felt like a lifetime since she last saw him in person. When really it was just the day before.

Finally, after thinking about him. She finally felt her phone viberate twice. A text message. Reading it she was smiling. She didn't care. What mattered was that he was finally there to pick her up. Looking at James, she smiled and rushed outside the door to see Everett's car in the same spot as always. She moved a small piece of hair out of her face as the wind slightly blew it around. Along with her flowing dress. It was frezzing, but she managed to walk to his car. She steped up and opened the door to see her boyfriend right there. She smiled. Sonya got into the passenger's seat before softly putting her hands on Everett's jaw. The feeling of his beard always made her smile, how it felt whenever they kissed just made her want to kiss him quicker, longer, more passionate. She softly pulled her face closer to his and softly let their lips touch. Creating electricity through her body.

She let one of her small, pale hands go on to his arm before pulling away away from his face. She couldn't help but smile. She wanted all day for that rush, that tingle, to go through her rather tall body. From her head to the toes. "Well, now you don't have to worry about some kid. All you have now is a girl you should be babysitting instead of dating." She said softly in a voice, she only used around him. She lightly kissed his cheek. "What do you want to do before the bonfire, babe?"

Sonya smiled as Everett put his face softly into her neck. The feeling of his beard rubbing against her skin began to tingle. "Actually, with my impeccable timing, we'll probably have to drive straight there if we want to make it. Sorry babe." She slightly shruged. "It's fine, baby. It's not that big of a deal." She reassured him as he settled back into the driver's seat. As he started the truck Sonya put the seatbelt around her and buckled it. Before returning her attention back to Everett, who began to talk to her. "You know... Gemma and the others are going to be there right? You sure everything's going to be copacetic between you and that other guy? What's his name, Nate or...Dominic or whatever." She smirked before rolling her eyes and looking at him.

She thought how to answer. As she did, Everett started to radio to what she guessed was a Miley Cyrus song. She couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction. Growing up she never knew much about all the English singers and when she moved here. She had to start understanding the words and being ok with the statons they had. She listened to the classical music a bit, trying to see how to answer. To reassure him that things would go fine. She intertwined her fingers with his free hand that started to radio. She kissed his hand softly and looked up at him. "His name is Nathan, baby. And, fi he wants to be..... him. And, start something so be it. I'm not going to let him walk over me. But, I promise you as long as you're there with me. I won't start anything with him. Ok? I promise you."

She smiled sweely at him as a promise. She honestly didn't know what wold happen between the two of them. But, whenever they were together, something was bound to happen. Not that they planned on it. It just did. Like when a dog and cat saw each other or a cat and a mouse.

"Well if he fucks with you, him and I are going to have a problem. I don't care if he's freaking Dracula he's not going to mess with you." On the outside he projected a certain confidence that usually swelled when he was around Sonya, but on the inside he regretted his brash words. He had watched enough horror movies to know that messing with a vampire would likely end up getting you killed. Except in Twilight where they sparkled, but he seriously doubted Nathan did.

As he pulled into the lot where the bonfire was set to take place, Nathan yanked the keys out of his truck and sighed. Now that they were finally here his insides started grumbling nervously.

"Before we go and mingle with everyone, let me at least have another smoke. Not sure I can keep the pep in my step without one." He turned to Sonya, waiting for either a frown or a look that would allow him to step out and get in a final smoke before the loud music and fire began.

"Well if he fucks with you, him and I are going to have a problem. I don't care if he's freaking Dracula he's not going to mess with you." Somya may have had a smirk on her face on the outside but on the inside. She was just melting like ice cream on a hot day. She bit her lip softly before rolling her eyes. "Aw, you get yourself killed for me. That's what I love about you." She said with a small amount of sarcasm in her voice. She may have not been the most..... educated person in the world, but she knew if a human tried to fight a vampire. That wouldn't end well. And, if something happened to Everett because of Nathan then her short temper would go off.

As they pulled up to the lot not far from her her house. Where she could see the the light of her brother's room turn off. She looked around as the smell of home returned to her. It was comforting to her. "Before we go and mingle with everyone, let me at least have another smoke. Not sure I can keep the pep in my step without one." She sighed. She hated that her boyfriend smoked a lot. She didn't agree with it. She looked at him and moved closer to him. Lightly pecking his lips with her. She looked at him. In his eyes before slowly smiling and whispering in his ear. "You would be getting more than that peck, if you weren't about to smoke." She had a sly grin on her face. Go head, baby. But, I need get the fire started. Before the others get here." She undid the seatbelt wrapped around her body and opened the door letting the cool air wrap around her. She closed the door behind her and walked backwards for a minute. "Baby, don't take to long."

She said before turning around and walking towards the pit where her pack had their meetings. In close walking distance to her home where she could quickly change. She walked closer and could smell something. Something that wasn't too pleasing to her nose. Dominic. She knew because it wasn't as bad as Nathan's. Who's she may have gagged on once or twice since meeting him. She could tell him and his girlfriend were close and she wanted to get the fire started before anyone sat down. She saw blankets and the food she bought on one of the log benches. Her brother must have layed them down before going out with the pack. Doing only God knows what. Even if she did take the pack over from her father, she still didn't have a clue.

She walked into the back door which lead to her room. She walked to her closet before slipping off her dress, knowing that it was too cold to lay around. But, that would give her a reason to pull herself closer to Everett. And, in her eyes that was a win-win. Yet, she wasn't one to want to have her knight in shinning amour. She slipped her dress off before tossing it into her hamper. She grabbed the outfit she layed on her bed before leaving. Slipping the warm gray sweatshirt on around her body before a pair of black jeans and a pair of Uggs. She sighed, she was ready to get the arguement she knew was going to happen..... over with.

Cigarettes never seemed to last long enough for Everett. A few seconds of pleasure followed by regret after realizing he was probably going to be addicted to nicotine for the rest of his life. "Oh well. Not like I was planning on becoming an Olympic athlete or anything. Sayonara lungs!" He gave a salute to the air before flicking the butt of his smoke onto the ground and grinding it with the heel of his Nike's.

Everett turned and watched as his girlfriend took off in the direction of her house. Since he didn't want to be accused of laziness he set took a few hidden keggers of beer from the back his truck (with some superior effort on his part) and placed them under a blanket at least ten feet away from where the fire would be. Drinking as well as smoking was not something his girlfriend was fond of, but almost every teenager in these parts had a hankering for a cold beer once in awhile.

A few other cars and trucks pulled in, including Everett's friend Chris ; typical skater kid with a habit of smoking weed or being high the majority of the time. "Hey man, where's your girlfriend at?" Everett bumped fists with him before replaying. " At her house. Should be getting this thing started any minute though."

Chris rubbed his hands together and give a loud "whoop". "Alright! Time to hit on drunk girls who make the wrong choices." Ev rolled his eyes and punched the kid in the shoulder with enough force to push him back, but not enough to form a bruise. "Yeah, because they have to be drunk to even look at you. "

She heard Everett from her house and just rolled her eyes. He was something else. But, he was hers. He made her feel beautiful and perfect just as the others did with their mates.

After getting changed and putting her wavy hair up into a high ponytail. Sonya could sense people at the door. Two of the smells which were not pleasent to her nose. The mixture of the two made her have to breath through her nose a bit before hearing someone, loudly knock on her door. She walked out of her room and could hear someone, barely say "That blood sucker and his human are here," Dominic again. Same harsh as always. "Yes, because you are sooo much better to be around." She said in her head. She honestly wasn't a fan of either of them. Dominic always seemed.... like her. Hard headed and strong willed. That wasn't going to ever fly as long as they were on her people's territory and she wasn't shy to let him know that. And, Nathan..... was Nathan. He always seemed to think that he was better than her.

She thought he was just a plain pain in her ass. She knew she had too much of an opinon for him. Or that's how she saw it. Opening her door, she saw a tall man and his much shorter mate who had long black hair. Dominic Moyer and his, what she thought was his girlfriend, Cordelia Eastham. But, it wasn't so cut and dry as her relatonship. she had no idea what to call their relationship. And, in one moment the smell that overwhelmed her returned. Nathan and his foolish lover, Gemma. She backed up and let them in. "Hello Cordelia, Dominic, and Gemma. It's nice to see you all again. And, Nathan as always, a pleasure to see you." She tried to hide the sarcasm in her voice and did pretty well for how sacastic she was.

She walked into her kitchen which was the first room in her house and grabbed the food she had bought for them. Keeping sight of Nathan in the corner of her now narrow eyes. She wasn't going to let him out of her sight as long as this was her land.

Nathan let Gemma pull him along towards Sonya's house as he thought of a well worded way to express his feelings towards their hostess for the night. Despite how little affection the werewolf held for either of them, Gemma was convinced they were friends and that meant being polite if only at the bare minimal. "Yes, it's not a very pleasant odor. Sort of like wet hair but worst. On the other hand, I expect I smell like cold death warmed over. It's a sort of natural defense we have against one another, I suppose." He took several long strides forward as he caught up with his beloved, following her stride step for step by her side as he continued. "Not very helpful and makes situations like ours a bit... difficult. But that doesn't really matter. I have my own beautiful rose here to give me comfort." He leaned over and planted a kiss atop her head, a sly smile crossing his lips as he pulled back just as they reached the front door. The smile died the moment he saw who was there to greet them.

They had been beaten to the front door by Cordelia and her boyfriend Dominic, the very bizarre demon who'd made his way into town years back. Their relationship was hard to describe and personally Nathan couldn't find anything he really liked about the man. He was vain, rude, stubborn and prone to violent outbursts. Oh and did he just love to try and mess with Nathan and try to get an expression out of him like a tourist messing with stony faced queen's guard in England. And then there was Everett and Sonya. The man was alright, a bit rough but at least seeming to try and be nice. Sonya, on the other hand, was quite the ice queen when it came to himself and Gemma. When she wasn't shooting poison loaded glares in their direction, she was putting on the poor guise of being their happy and polite 'friend'. As hard as Nathan tried to justify some pleasant point about her, the smell lingering in the air distracted him and simply gave him another reason to dislike her.

Nathan kept his cold, empty eyes locked on their hostess as they entered her home, his fingers tightening about Gemma's ever so slightly after they crossed the threshold. The stench that lingered in the air felt even heavier as they entered the wolf's den itself. Of course there was no avoiding it in her own home. She would have touched and sat on everything, leaving behind the clinging smell. Even though he knew she was without others of her kind at the moment, it still made him feel as if he was surrounded by the beasts. It wasn't a comforting feel. He didn't say anything as he simply watched Sonya go about with treating her guests. He didn't even blink as he waited for one crack in her little innocent and happy act. It didn't take long. She was keeping her eye on him just as he was doing for her. Good. That meant the grounding was even for the time being.

Even though the tension between everyone was intense, they all used to be good friends. She knew opinions had changed of her for dating a vampire, but Gemma was alright with that, and she smiled at Nathan as he described the unpleasant odors he was forced to breathe in. But after his kiss rested upon her forehead and her hand squeezed his icy digits encouragingly, she smiled softly at him and sniffed softly against his jacket with a bright beam. "All I can smell is your lovely cologne. I am sure if anything more, you smell like frozen roses." She offered him a kiss on the cheek, rubbing his hand with her thumb as she turned towards the door and narrowed her eyes slightly to see Dominic and Cordelia standing there, Cordelia's friendly smile and wave only making Gemma relax slightly. She hadn't a problem with Cordelia; it was Dominic she didn't like.

As they entered inside the house, Gemma noticed it was dim, like how she and Nathan were forced to be in whenever daylight came around and it made her feel a bit better as she continued to hold onto Nathan's hand and felt his pressure increase. She understood he was uncomfortable, and her stomach seemed to churn at the fact that she had dragged him here, and she suddenly started to feel guilty as she noticed Sonya watching Nathan with strict, icy eyes and the judgmental stare over her own physique and expression. That made her feel a bit more defensive, and she continued to flick her head around with a growing tension in her muscles as her shoulder pressed into Nathan's side. She was starting to wonder why Sonya continued to remain in contact with her, but then... she remembered. She was more friends with Everett then anyone in this entire group. Everett had been her friend for a while, and never seemed to judge her the way everyone else had turned to face her. That's one of the strongest reasons she was here. And it made her feel... better.

"I don't mind leaving early." Gemma whispered into Nathan's ear softly, so softly no one could hear it but him as her gentle voice was able to go down so low to almost just lip movements and she smiled at him, clinging around his arm while her eyes flicked around carefully. "So, Sonya." She said in a more curt manner then anything, struggling to try and remain at a softer tone. "When's the fire supposed to start?"
