General Information

Name: Caelan McManus

Sex: Male

Age: 18

Hair: White

Height: 6’

Weight: 187lbs

Personality: Highly arrogant, Caelan looks down upon any whose powers are inferior to his or Mihael’s. Naturally, because of their incredible strength, the two don’t have any real equals that they’ve met so far. However, unlike his brother, Caelan has a hair-trigger temper. He can keep relatively calm for most of the time, particularly when his brother is around to give him someone "worthy" to be around. He's very easily set off, and has difficulty restraining himself from crushing things around him in a heartbeat. Where as Mihael's the seductive one, Caelan is the brash hothead.

Likes:
Dogs, Red Meat, a decent fight, respectable powers and people, freedom to do whatever he wishes.

Dislikes:
Authority, Inferiority, Weakness, Preachy Hypocrites.

Abilities

Main Ability: Gravity Manipulation – Caelan can dramatically increase or decrease the gravitational pull in an area.

So begins...

“No, it’d be a mean thing of me to leave you after I volunteered to help myself. Once you finish eating I’ll show you the way back and then we can part ways. It’s honestly fun being able to talk to someone like this. They look a little occupied anyway.”

She answered Allison and spotted the fireball boy herself. Approaching the pair wasn’t something even she herself would do so bravely ,so she wondered how things would play out. Unsurprisingly really, it didn’t seem to go very smoothly. She wished they’d get along but maybe certain types of people just didn’t suit each other. This was the second time something hectic was happening in the Mess hall.

She prayed that the mild disturbance of creaking sounds the tables were making would be the extent of his power. He still seemed pretty dissatisfied though. For now Maya decided to just continue watching, it couldn’t be too bad, after all half the people in this place seemed angry about something. Then the blonde boy who actually started the ruckus seemed to be finished and walked towards the door. She looked back at Allison and giggled while still keeping an eye at the boys and their actions.

“This is exactly what I meant when I said it’s lively. I think with how often it happens, soon we’ll all be used to these outbursts.”

Michael for one wasn't going to stand for this nonsense. He looked down at his food thoughtfully then stood up slowly. His honey colored eyes flashing sharply with a look he rarely used. Without a word he walked over to Caelan's table he slapped his hand on it so hard one would think he would have injured his hand. He frowned furiously and shot a look at the white haired boy.

"Ty!" He said with an unnecessarily loud voice, hoping to get his attention before he'd left the room "Come to OUR table. There is lots of space with a lot less filth. You don't need people like these stinking up the already foul smell of this food. Besides everyone knows a decent take-over is more than just overwhelming powers and smart-ass attitudes. You want to make this place your own you have to know this place IN and OUT. That means it's prisoners as well. Otherwise you've simply won over a chaotic mess that will only eat you up in the end. No one likes a tyrant no matter what flavor bullshit he comes in."

His gold eyes flashed and he looked back at Caelan. "Everyone is valuable here. You'd best be absolutely certain that you can take on every single one of us when your through with your crusade, because you can be certain you'll be facing every single one of us that you kick aside in the end."

It was gutsy of him to say the least especially even as he already felt the fluctuation of Caelan's temper building. Michael however was calm. He turned and walked back towards his table. Not even a gust of wind on his lips.

Utrien waited until Michael sat down then said quite calmly with a hint of good natured sarcasm. "That wasn't what i meant, but what the heck. I asked for a small wind and i guess that wind was good. I think that might have made him angrier though." Utrien smiled a closed eyes smile while he produced three tentacles that stabbed themselves into the ground, tethering him and his chair to the ground. Someone's going to explode, and he doesn't know who or when it'll be. He should at least be prepared.

He finished his apple and hid the seeds. Leaning on one hand, he mused. "You guys remind me of a newly introduced pride. Already heating up and butting heads. This might be beneficial, you would however gather a lot of enemies or abrasive relationships. Get your groups together and make sure they hold, you might want to have Allies in this war that's brewing." Steepling his hands and gazing at Caelan and Michael waiting for the storm to hit.

Seeing this display from Mike caused all sorts of thoughts to run through Marshall’s mind, most of which were wildly inappropriate. This was incredibly brave and noble, yet incredibly stupid at the same time. He may have been standing up for the little guy here, but at what cost? Did he just throw all of them under the bus? Sure most of them could hold their own in a fight, but this dude could control gravity, this was not a power to be taken lightly and he had no idea what powers the others at that table had. At this moment he wished he could make all of his group invisible, but sadly, his power wasn’t something he could extend to others.

He felt himself tense up as he expected the worst, ready to do anything that was necessary, depending what on gravity boy did. He was still tense as Mike sat back down. He tried letting logic back into his head, but the tension remained. “ I don’t get why everyone is so hell-bent on a war within this place. Am I the only one that knows what this place really is? Some of you believe it’s actually a school to help us, some of you think it’s a prison to keep us away from the rest of society. Neither is right, or wrong. No one seems to notice that all the people turning up with powers around the world are either kids or teenagers. That means we’re the first generation of super humans. It won’t be long before the first nut job comes along and tries to take over the world or something stupid like that because he has a grudge. We’re in a freaking training facility. Whoever is in charge around here wants to create a group of heroes before the first villains show up and at the rate this place is going they’re going to create a school full of nut jobs who are going to be the ones to try and take over the world. For fuck sake, am I the only one who reads comics?” He rambled on, not really talking to anyone in particular.

Her apology was, as it seemed, a deadly weapon. Her words had sent Caelan into a combined fit of coughing, choking and laughing. She didn't understand how her words would cause such a reaction or how someone could choke and laugh and cough all at the same time. She didn't know whether to laugh at or with him, or worry that he might seriously choke on the already hazardous looking substance he had been swallowing. In that state of confusion she just had a poker face, leaning back slightly as to avoid any food particles that may turn into deadly projectiles. Once he finally calmed down, having escaped a cruel death by unidentifiable lunch specials, he spoke; or well tried to. He coughed in between sentences, still trying to swallow. - "Well, don't apologize. I'm his brother after all. He-...He's my brother, after all. I've gotten onto him about his attitudes time and time again. He usually gets me back in some way, but it's nice to see someone else can't stand his nonsense any more than I can. It's refreshing. I'm sure he won't get too mad at you like he would at me, he can't stay mad at pretty girls." So she had not been alone in her disapproval over Mihael. She watched curiously as he continued eating, stopping only to add more to his statement almost as an afterthought. "If he's still raw later, I'll try to defuse it, I suppose. Now. About meditation. If you want later, I can float you with me, but we'll not do that now. Not while you're dressed like that. So, first thing's first-" A smile was spreading on her lips as she listen to his ramblings, she had been totally wrong on her pervert assumption earlier. She felt a tinge of guilt over almost slapping him, then felt even more guilty over slapping that other random guy. As if by art of magic that same guy suddenly spoke beside their table, cutting Caelan off mid sentence.

"Alright first things first sweetheart. What the hell? Was your dog killed by a greeting or something? Second, sorry. I can understand if you're on edge, we're not exactly in the most relaxing situation. I didn't mean to scare you, where I'm from I had to learn to keep my footsteps quiet, it's a habit." The boy was looking straight into her deep grey eyes as he spoke, pulling a cigarette out when he paused. "And third, what do you say we just forget about? We're all sitting on a powder keg, and Big Brother's just waiting for it to blow. Being at each others throats isn't going to help anyone. So what do you say friends? Or at least tolerant acquaintances?" The boy had offered them a cigarette and then lit it. What he used to light it was a fireball he had created in the palm of his hand. The sight and warmth of it sent her into a dazed state of shock. She hated fire, she was deathly afraid of it and wanted it to go away right now. Her entire body went still and her eyes turned into an almost white shade of blue. The water bottle next to her froze instantly."Now, friend, I don't think you understood the exact point I was trying to make with you when we left you in your time-out-corner back in the hallway. We don't want company right now. We aren't seeking company right now. We're working, right now, as roommates, together towards a common goal that you are not a part of." Caelan was talking but she wasn't listening. "You're a pyrochinetik. Great. You're a dime-a-dozen. You all think you're such hot stuff. I don't want people like you as a friend. I'd rather not even be an acquainted with you, were it not for the fact that we're both stuck in this place. I don't know you, and I already don't like you. If you really want to be seen as something, do something impressive against the system. Otherwise, scatter. I've no use for someone like you." He had stood up now, speaking an a growing hostile tone. Their table, as well as probably every other table in the cafeteria began shaking slightly. He was loosing control.

"Wow, you think I need to prove something to you? That's adorable. Seriously that's like a puppy in a sweater and a baby panda level of cute. And you want something impressive? How about controlling my powers for one. Seems like you need a lesson or two on that, buddy. For future reference, don't tell me what to do. It never ends well. Ever. But like I said, us being at each other's throats ain't helping anyone." By now the fireball was gone and she was panting slowly as if recovering from a panic attack, her eyes still almost white. She didn't approve of either of their behaviors but both had a point. On one side, knowing the partial truth behind Caelan's thoughts, she could see why he would say such things. On the other side she agreed with Ty about the power control, something she as well as many others here were clearly struggling with. The boy then turned his back on both of them and started walking away after one last smart ass remark. This was ridiculous. She hadn't even gotten a chance to speak or answer any of the things he had said to her. She stood up and started to move towards the boy, not without effort because she was partly afraid of him making more fire. That and the fact she still had a fever made her vision blur from standing up so fast and she lay her hand against the table to keep herself up. That moment of pause allowed yet another person to speak before she got the chance to. This time it was one of the boys from across the room, the one that looked like a bleached out version of Caelan and Mihael. "Ty! Come to OUR table.

The boy was speaking loud enough for everyone to clearly hear him while shooting glares at Caelan. He continued his speech as if unable to stop himself until his thoughts were expressed. It was risky, knowing how Caelan would react if he got any angrier, but very brave. He didn't even look agitated, he looked rather calm as if talking casually. "Everyone is valuable here. You'd best be absolutely certain that you can take on every single one of us when your through with your crusade, because you can be certain you'll be facing every single one of us that you kick aside in the end." She re positioned herself and turned back towards Caelan with a flushed, mildly angry and completely defeated look on her face. She was tired. She was so tired she couldn't even get agitated enough to explode, instead she got really really really frustrated to the point her eyes watered. She turned around and called out to the fire wielding boy, a very vulnerable and innocent look on her face. Half from how she felt and half from feeling like she was about to faint. She spoke as she walked towards him. [b] You never let me answer your questions. I accept your apology for scaring me only if you accept mine for accidentally slapping you. I know you two... She looked back at Caelan who looked like an active volcano then back at the Ty with a small smile. " ...will probably never get along. But, I say yes to your proposal of putting it all behind. What do you say, for the sake of all of us being shoved into this place at once, that we put ALL of this behind us. Start fresh. She extended her had towards in in a peaceful attempt to calm everything, including herself, down. The next sentence she said while glancing first at the bleached out version of the twins and his table, a slightly hurt look in her eyes at him having called Caelan and her both filth, then at Caelan with a look that said remember what you were about to teach me before this all started. She spoke loud enough so everyone could hear her, her tiny body was not very attention grabbing but she knew that the sight of movement between these two guys, her startling blue eyes and unusual red hair would be enough. That and the fact that every step she took had left ice on the floor, she herself was on a thin line with her control at the moment but she forced herself to stay calm. "No one here is better than anyone else here, but no one here is less than anyone else either. We all have our string points and our faults. Some of them more obvious than others but they are still there. You all, Caelan and I are no exception. This place has put everyone on edge and no one is thinking clearly right now. Seeing everyone's bad sides wont do anyone any good. So... She took a deep breath and spoke directly to Ty. I'm Katherine. It's a pleasure to meet you Ty." She held her hand in place, waiting to see how he, and everyone else, would react to her small speech. At least she finally got a word in.

Allison had finished up her food and put on her mask as everything escalated around them, she kept her face straight as her stomach began to hurt. It wasn't from what she ate but more from all the yelling, loud noises and the like always made her feel like she was being trapped in a small dark closet that didn't have a doorknob. She could see the confusion and annoyance in most of everyone's face, their eyes seeming to look around for someone who they can just blame for this. One of her gloved hands went to rub her legs, trying to ease her nerves by breathing in and out slowly.

There had to be something that could calm people down, this seemed to be the first day and if they were going to be stuck together, fighting wasn't going to solve important things. She looked over at Maya again, brows wrinkling a bit as she had a thought. Allison leaned towards the girl, making sure there was still plenty of space between the two, and spoke softly to the smaller girl. You can affect others, yes? Maybe you can calm them?

"Wow, you think I need to prove something to you? That's adorable. Seriously that's like a puppy in a sweater and a baby panda level of cute. And you want something impressive? How about controlling my powers for one. Seems like you need a lesson or two on that, buddy. For future reference, don't tell me what to do. It never ends well. Ever. But like I said, us being at each other's throats ain't helping anyone. Opening a can of whoop-ass all over you is just a waste of my time and energy."

The wretch known as Ty stormed off, thinking he'd made his point quite clear to Caelan. He had, but not in a way that he intended. Caelan smiled again, the confident smile of someone who knew an inside joke that the room did not. Not quite smug, not quite psychotic, simply confident. The smile of a trained actor. As Ty stormed off, the tables ceased their shuddering, and his hair settled into place. Calm yourself. They'll scatter like chaff before long, save for those you bring with you in the tempest. Calm. Caelan's unknowing white-knuckle grip on the fork relaxed. He would not lose control. Not here. Not now. They weren't worth his time. None of them were. He turned to seat himself again when the loud slap of flesh on metal seemed to echo throughout the cafeteria, despite murmurings from the staff at the display.

"Ty! Come to OUR table. No one likes a tyrant no matter what flavor bullshit he comes in." The new boy shot a glare at Caelan's direction. Admirable. Another friend? How fun this will turn out to be! The boy continued on, pointedly ignoring Caelan. "Everyone is valuable here. You'd best be absolutely certain that you can take on every single one of us when your through with your crusade, because you can be certain you'll be facing every single one of us that you kick aside in the end."

A retort forming on his lips, Caelan's mouth cracked open but was shut again thanks to Katherine. "You never let me answer your questions. I accept your apology for scaring me only if you accept mine for accidentally slapping you. I know you two... She looked first at him, then at Ty, giving him an almost accusatory stare. "...will probably never get along. But, I say yes to your proposal of putting it all behind. What do you say, for the sake of all of us being shoved into this place at once, that we put ALL of this behind us. Start fresh." She approached Ty and extended a hand in a gesture of peace, and friendship. Another glance in his direction, this time a look of almost chastisement, before turning back to Ty with her hand extended. So I'm Katherine. It's a pleasure to meet you Ty."

Caelan chuckled to himself and shook his head, as if the entire situation was a joke to him. He turned, addressing the table behind them, particularly the one who stood up to him in the middle of what clearly was rage. "Well. Well well well. You've certainly got a spine. Don't you? You might be worth something. As for you, Ty..." He addressed Ty without turning to face him. "Don't cross me, and we will be fine." Returning his attention to the other table Caelan continued to speak. "You make a fair point, friend. Burning every bridge immediately isn't worth doing on day one. In the grand scheme of things here, the end is what matters. Freedom is what matters. Making sure this doesn't happen to anyone else, matters." He strode past Katherine, speaking in a hushed whisper only she could hear. "If you're still interested in meditation, I'll be in the courtyard. If not, I will see you back at the room. He strode past Ty, taking care to not come near him as he left the cafeteria. "But let me make one thing clear. Don't push me too far. It won't end well." As a final demonstration, he projected some of his power at the closest unoccupied table. The table shrieked briefly as the metal crumpled into itself, becoming a smooth, featureless ball that fell to the floor with a loud crash, cracking the tiles as it fell. With the table as his closing remark, Caelan pushed the door open with one hand and strode to the courtyard, feeling a bit accomplished. It was unlike him to regain his composure from the brink of losing it. He moved along, hands in his pockets. Filth huh? What would vermin know about filth?

This began to get even more hectic as people from the other table also began to shout. The whole situation was completely unnecessary and frankly it was getting out of hand. You could cut the tension with a knife. But she was sure sooner or later they’d calm down, well she at least stayed hopeful.

Suddenly the red haired girl began speaking. Her words weren’t the loudest in the room, yet to Maya they were the clearest as only those words tried to bring peace. She agreed with the girl’s little speech and was overjoyed someone else actually tried to keep peaceful and happy relationships in this place.

“You can affect others, yes? Maybe you can calm them?”

“I
.um,” Maya looked around at the people as she began to answer Allison. She wasn’t sure casting an illusion would even help and her power probably wouldn’t do wonders on this many people. Another thing was her desire to remain neutral, she could probably make a wall visible to the main aggressors but it wouldn’t really make anyone happy. “Just give them time. They’ll calm down on their own, this is just what you get with all these hormones trapped in one place. No one is hurt after all, they all just want to let their emotions go.”

As she expected the fight soon broke down as the white haired boy left. Sure, he said some pretty harsh words but at last it was calm again. Before opening the door he also gave everyone a demonstration of his power. As a nearby table became squashed Maya couldn’t help but let out a squeal of surprise. She waited a few moments before facing Allison again.

“See, I don’t think they really mean to get angry at each other. Oh, and you don’t look so good, why don’t I walk you back so you can rest and get some alone time?”

Ty was pretty surprised some guy he didn't know came to his defense, even if it wasn't needed. But how'd he know his name? Ty looked over at the table he came from and saw Utrien. 'Oh he must have told him.' Ty thought to himself. When the girl started talking, Ty turned back to face her and listened closely at her speech, he noticed she looked sick, or scared.
Ty looked behind her at her table and noticed the frozen water bottle. 'Does she have ice powers? Did my powers make her sick?' Ty wondered to himself. When she extended her hand towards him, he looked into her eyes and saw that water was coming out of them. 'Why is she crying? Is it because of me, or him?' Ty asked himself.
Before he could respond, the asshole got up and just strode past him, like he wasn't even important enough for his full attention. Ty's eyes followed him with every move he made. But before he left he gave another demonstration of his power by crashing a table. Ty was starting to swell up with anger, but he took a deep breath in and exhaled out of his nose, with a small flame shooting out of each nostril, almost like a cartoon character.
Ty turned back to Katherine, hoping she didn't she the flames in case his powers were affecting her. "It's already forgotten." Ty said as he firmly took her hand, and a warm smile on his face. "The pleasures all mine, Katherine."
"Um...are you alright?" Ty asked with genuine concern. "My powers aren't hurting you are they?"

The first one to respond to the series of events had been Caelan, naturally. A flare for the dramatic seemed to be a hereditary trait that ran in his family, Mihael was the same way but in a slightly different set of circumstances. They were twins so it only made since they would have things in common, including the prideful stubbornness she was quickly getting familiar with. That pride was the one that made him speak to his opposite or, as Kat now called him, bleached out version of him without actually turning to look at him. "Well. Well well well. You've certainly got a spine. Don't you? You might be worth something. As for you, Ty..."She tensed as she heard her roommate speak the other boys name, had her attempt to calm the situation failed? By the sound of his voice she couldn't tell that it had not failed. She had heard the shift in his tone, it was no longer coated in that dangerous instability it had been a few seconds ago. He continued talking to the fire user before turning back towards the table. [/color] "Don't cross me, and we will be fine"......"You make a fair point, friend. Burning every bridge immediately isn't worth doing on day one. In the grand scheme of things here, the end is what matters. Freedom is what matters. Making sure this doesn't happen to anyone else, matters." She heard footsteps move towards her and tensed a little as he whispered in her ear. He informed her that he would be in the courtyard meditating, and would meet her there if she chose to go or see her back at the room later tonight. After those short words he walked past Ty in an almost nonchalant manner. To some it would seem rude but she knew better, she knew how badly he was holding back. The silence that had formed as he moved was broken as his voice echoes across the room one more time. "But let me make one thing clear. Don't push me too far. It won't end well." The table nearest to him suddenly shook, crumpling in on itself until it was nothing more than a metal ball. A ball that landed with great force on the floor, cracking the tiles on impact as if it were a meteorite. That was the Caelan she had come to know, she knew he couldn't help himself. She had spoken, or thought, too soon on the matter of control. With that last act he walked out of the cafeteria and disappeared from sight. She would put some thought into meeting up with him after this depending on how things played out.

The pyro had listened intently to her speech, to her relief. She had been half afraid that he might have reacted explosively like Caelan and maybe even used his powers but somehow, contrary to his fiery powers, he had remained rather cool through this whole event. She didn't know how she would have reacted if she saw that fireball again but it would not have ended well. It was refreshing to meet someone who could actually keep their cool. In a way this boy was her polar opposite. He used fire but remained cool and she used ice and water but exploded in fiery rage more often than not. The boy looked at her hand then at her eyes, a look of confusion then wonder on his face as if he wasn't sure about something but was really thinking about it. He then turned, watched Caelan do his power trick and then leave. She watched curiously as he seemed to exhale all his rage before he turned back to her, she straightened up as best she could to look confident but quickly relaxed once she heard him speak. He shook her and with a warm smile on his lips. "It's already forgotten. The pleasures all mine, Katherine." His smile turned into an expression of concern, his voice worried. "Um...are you alright? My powers aren't hurting you are they?" She then remembered that she must look rather ill, her face must be as red as her hair by now and must seem exhausted. With everything that's happened she may as well explain why she was like this. First she let go of his hand and shook her head as an answer to his question, then jumped into an explanation." I will be ok. I just have a pretty bad fever because I used my powers one too many times today. There was a situation back in my room and well...things got out of hand. That's why Caelan was dragging me like that, he was trying to get both of us away from the others before both of us lost our tempers at the same time and someone got hurt. Your powers aren't affecting me in the way you must be thinking. When paused a moment, feeling almost ashamed at admitting this to someone other than herself. Even if she was scared to tell him it was for the best, as to avoid a bad situation later on.

" I'm....I'm really afraid of fire. There was an incident in my past where...I was almost burned alive and I haven't been able to even look at a candles flame since then without going into total shock. Which is bad because, sometimes my powers go all crazy if I'm like that... She had moved a stray lock f hair away while speaking, her voice trembling a little when she spoke, then pointed at the frozen water bottle on the table she had been in as an example of what she was saying to him. During her explanation a girl walked into the cafeteria with a small dog. It was the same girl that Caelan and Kat had almost run over when they left the room. Yet another person she had to apologize to, she had only seen her for a second before being dragged out so she didn't know if the girl would recognize her or not. She made her way towards the food, speaking with a sarcastic and semi hostile tone to no one in particular as she moved. ”Oh I hope my prenses isn’t too much for ya’ll. Name’s Judy, in case anyone cares” The girls attitude was such a harsh contrast to the super happy and friendly voice she had heard outside her door earlier that it almost scared her. The small dog seemed to imitate the girls anger and was growling at everyone that got in range of it's master. The girl, or Judy as she had informed the room, picked up an apple and a soda and made her back towards the exit when she stopped. The dog had jumped out of her arms and moved across the room with great speed, smelling everyone briefly before lingering on Ty's hand. It nibbled almost playfully on the boys hand. This made Judy turn and walk towards them, Kat tensed awkwardly but continued to explain to Ty." I will probably be fine after I get some more water in me and some sleep, I just can't really go back to my room just yet...too crowded. Caelan had brought me over to get some food and water so I could feel better. He...isn't as bad as he appears. Really. I'm sorry again, for what happened.

She smiled almost sheepishly before turning to the girl that now stood beside Ty and the small dog. Kat swallowed and spoke up awkwardly, it was now or never. She had already apologized twice today so she might as well keep going and get through with it all at once."Um..Hi. Judy? I don't know if you remember me from earlier. My roommate kind of dragged me out of my room as you were coming in and kind of ran you over on the way out. I just wanted to say that I am really sorry about what happened. There was too much tension building up in there, it was getting crowded and tempers as well as powers started flaring up. Please don't think that we were treating you bad on purpose, really we weren't. Things just happened in that unfortunate order. I hope you didn't get hurt, or your little friend there." Kat felt her heat racing with nerves as she spoke, she didn't know if the girl would react like Caelan and explode or like Ty and keep his cool. The only thing she could do now was breath knowing she had at least come forward and apologize, even if she hadn't been the one to run the girl over, for what happened. All these emotional loops today were seriously too much, she started feeling like she really did want to meet up with Caelan and do that weird floating zen thing. Hopefully the the rest of the time she will be in this place wont be as hectic, but somehow she highly doubted it would be any more relaxed with the kind of people clashing in it.

Not surprisingly, with the pattern of random people today, yet another person walked in. This time it was a rather attention grabbing girl in heels and a corset dress. Her hair bounced with each step as she cat walked into the room with an almost impossible entrance to miss, it reminded her a little of the twins dramatic personalities but a lot less hostile. Her green eyes scanned the room as she spoke. "Well hello fellow classmates, My name is Passhia but you can call me Fang, since, well I have a venomous bite." A small tongue ran over her teeth in an almost unconsciously animalistic manner to prove her point. The next thing that happened could maybe be the strangest thing that Kat had seen all day. Some real wickedly strange shit had happened today so that was really saying something. A Cobra. Yes, a COBRA had peeked out of her hair and slithered down her legs, coming to a stop on the floor beside her."Don't panic, he doesn't bite. Well unless you're a cat, which I happen to smell" She had spoken while petting the snakes head like a puppy. It was a boy snake? How can you even tell if a snake is female or male. She shuddered at the thought not wanting to really get a mental picture of the process. During this whole thing one thing still poked at her mind."Wait did she just say Cat? Cat's and birds where the two animals that Kat really loved, there was no way she had missed one, even in her dazed and feverish state. She looked around the room excitedly, probably the most animated she had looked since the fever started, her long crimson hair jumping along with her. Her childlike movements quickly turned into disappointing stillness and sad steel gray eyes having found no feline anywhere."Wheres the cat...?" She spoke to no one in particular but wanted an answer to her question.

When the girl spoke to her, she had been looking at the girls shoes, somehow not wanting to do eye contact. ”It’s fine, and Panther is nothing to fear, he’s a nice dog, just pet behind his ear and you’ll be fine” she said with a smile. She turned as the girl entered the room, and picked up Panther. ”So I didn’t catch your name” she said, moving to the girls other side.

Panther licked the girls hair, not knowing what else to lick, his tail moving and whacking Judy’s arm

"Ingrates, all of them..."

Caelan's thoughts roiled as he aimlessly wandered the hallways from the cafeteria, passively looking for the courtyard. As thoughts continued to roll in his head like clothing in a tumble dryer, Caelan's mood soured once again. Why then? Why that worthless pyrokinetic? Why couldn't he just consign them all to a singularity and be done with it? They would only be pawns in the end anyway, unless they showed extreme talent like Desire, and Katherine to a lesser extent. His anger began to burn brighter, and hotter, fueling the instabilities that came with his powers. Objects in the wake of his path in the hallway shifted slightly, only barely displaced as they floated for brief moments. Why. Why why why why WHY!? It suddenly occurred to him that the almost physical weight of the sun and heat once again bore down on his shoulders. He'd somehow manage to navigate himself to the courtyard, despite his inner turmoil.

Out in the sunlight, Caelan began to pace back and forth across a small section of the courtyard, his jaw clenched in thought. Why should I be FORCED to be pleasant with them? Why!? Loose stones began to float around him as his anger continued to grow unchecked. Why should I tolerate them? Why? Why can't I just crush them all into NOTHINGNESS!? Why can't they all SCATTER? The stones began to orbit Caelan, gaining speed as his temper rose. Why... can't... they... all... GO! One of the stones whipped around Caelan too quickly, and struck him across the cheek, leaving a small cut. The physical pain very nearly threw his grip of control away, however, he used it as a focusing tool. Caelan sat, crossed his legs, and began to slow his breathing. Then, slowly, the stones slowed their frenzied dance around him. As he began to calm down more, they lazily rotated around him, almost as a symbol of his own inner harmony. With his temper slowly snuffing out, Caelan rose, floating off the ground in the center of his own model universe. Calm. Harmony. He was the master, not his own power. He couldn't rely on Mihael forever, anyway. If he was here, he may as well get used to being separated from his brother.

Amelia sat with her knees pulled up near her chest and her head tilted backs lightly so it lay against the caged wall as she exhaled and inhaled slowly to regain her breath after having lost most of it during her competitive game of baseball, with herself. In the distance Amelia heard the sound of furniture scratching against tiled flooring, and then a muffled crash, followed by silence and eventually the sound of growing footsteps. Once she heard a door creaking and the quick footsteps come closer, Amelia tilted her head forward and opened her once closed eyes.

Across the courtyard, a white-haired man paced with his jaw clenched. Amelia assumed the sounds she heard inside could have some connection with the increasingly angry man she saw in front of her. As the man paced, and seemingly grew more angry, Amelia spotted a collection of stones began to lift and rumble their way though the air, circling him as he continued his internal angry ranting. Amelia considered putting up her shield, just incase a stone flew haywire and made it's way directly toward her.

Half-way through the process of creating the shield, one of the stone struck the man across his cheek which ripped him back into reality, or so it seemed. Eventually the man went from angered to calmed and sat himself on the floor, crossing his legs as the stones slowed their whirlwind and progressed into a slow rotation around him. Amelia waved back into visibility as she broke down her shield and watched the man from where she sat, cocking her head slightly in curiosity as she watched the man then begin to float off of the ground. He seemed to be meditating, which was understandable, she was told once that some people could float just from pure inner peace and a clear mind. But this was a school specifically for people with powers a parade of freaks, where the vultures would pick the weak to death and listen to the commands of those who were strong. The man seemed like the strong type, but his anger made Amelia wonder if he'd be a strong leader. The way she saw it, a level-head was the appropriate essential for survival and leadership, especially amongst a load of potentially life-threatening powerful teenagers.

Utrien's eyes sharpened the moment he saw the cobra. Even if he was adept at handling wild animals, he was still wary around them specially with Ezra around. Unlatching his tentacles from the ground, he made them rise up and wave to Fang. If she wants to freak people out, alright with him. He can play that game just fine. He didn't sleep as much as he wanted and his usual serene and shy demeanor is gone, replaced by an uncaring and sarcastic demeanor.

So many varied people arriving, so little presence to go over there and talk. He slumped over the table and laid down with his face sideways, too much interaction with nothing much happening. First the cat incident, then the marshall and jurou faceoff, followed by Caelen, Ty and Michael. He knew that Ramone told him to socialize but this is ridiculous. He liked animals and plants, they were much more predictable. Less drama and more upfront.

Utrien turned his face towards Michael. "The only thing they are feeding us here is slop and other unrecognizable food. Spam would be better than this, and that's Something Pretending As Meat. Talking about delicious food with actual ingredients would be more of a disadvantage, no?" Utrien grinned. His sarcastic side is getting the better of him, mostly why he naps. Waking up gives him a mellow and soft buzz that subdues that. He shrugs mentally 'oh well i'll be living here with them and looks like i won't get much sleep. They might have to get used to it.' He sat up with a cheeky grin.

The next thing that happened was another unexpected event. Marshall is flashing. And not the girl kind of flashing, but the flashing from reality flashing. He's flickering from view. With wide eyes, Utrien took some of the slop and smeared it on Marshall's arm. He thought of smearing it on to Marshall's face as a moustache but he doesn't know what's in there. He wants Marshall to be visible, not sick from some new disease. "I'm sorry, i just need you to be visible. You did say that you sometimes can't control your power, maybe this is one of those times?" Then Marshall flickered halfway back to solid. "...At least i didn't smear it on your face like my original plan," he reasoned with a sheepish smile. "I would suggest to coat yourself with something that's easy to see. Wouldn't want any accidents. Maybe this is a stress thing though. Who knows, but hey maybe you can now haunt the kitchen so they can make the food better" he added with a somewhat unhelpful shrug.

After Jurou finished his slop rather quickly, he simply sat there and listened to the trio for a bit, then got bored and started to day dream, leaning his elbow on the table he stared off into the distance with his face leaning on the palm of his hand with a natural irritated look about him as he began to think of ways to give Marshall hell. Perhaps he could simply just tease him from time to time for fun, although watching him squirm sounded just as fun but he wasn't sure if it was a good idea in front of a lot of people. He continued not to pay attention to anyone or anything around him for quite a bit, simply thinking, the random object his eyes were fixated on did not change, he simply stared at a random chair for quite a while until finally he snapped out of it casually and looked at the three. "Marshall, you're terrible at flirting, aren't you embarrassed about everyone seeing how bad you are at it?" With that little snark remark, which he said as if it were part of casual conversation, no sudden grin on his face, just a blank expression as he looked him in the eyes, then back at Michael. "I'm really bored now. Can we go. I didn't come here to watch the circus." That little comment was towards the little fight of sorts if you could call it that, that happened while he wasn't paying full attention. He could still hear all the drama, just didn't care for it. Jurou was acting quite serious and impatient now, itching to just get out side and let out all the built up energy he had stored in him. He didn't even really care about Marshall's random flashing, as long as it didn't affect him he would let him keep flashing. "You look better half visible." Okay one more little asshole comment, now he needed to just wait until they got out of the damn place so he could cool off by running a bit or something. He couldn't care less if someone brought a damn dragon into the cafeteria by this point. When he noticed Utrien smear slop on Marshall he started chuckling out loud like a little kid, which in a way was a nice change to see him smiling and laughing from his frowning face.

Judy had refused to even look at her in the eye as she apologized, told her that her dog was nothing to be afraid of if you just pet behind it's ears, she picked up her pit bull up and then walked towards the snake girl Fang who had just walked into the room. Kat blinked and watched her walk away, why had she bothered even saying anything. "I appreciate the honest. We all got our demons. Sometimes they seem like actual demons." The boy closed his eyes and tenses almost as if he regretted what he just said. Strange. She didn't ask him about it though, not her place to pry into others matters. "I'll try not to 'flame on' when I'm around. Just don't get to mad if I slip up ever now and then." She nodded and shot him a small smile, even though she couldn't actually say ok to that. She would have to work on her fear and how she might react when it does happen. For now she wouldn't think about it. The boy cursed and freaked out about the snake, saying something about missing the memo on pets and saying he wanted a Komodo dragon. She took this moment to quietly make her way over to the cafeteria line, take a bottle of water and then start walking to the exit. She looked back in an attempt to wave back at the boy but he was too distracted and she wanted to be alone. All day people have either spoken over her and not let her get a word in or just ignored anything she said, she was tired of it. She sighed and pushed the cafeteria door open just enough for her to slip through, leaving the room of buzzing conversations behind. The hall outside was almost unnervingly quiet. She thought about where to move. Option one was back into the cafeteria, that was not going to happen. Option two was her room, that was REALLY not going to happen anytime soon. She took a long sip of the water and started moving. "Only one place to go then."

She walked to the end of the hall and then turned, trying to figure out where exactly the courtyard was. Meditation sounded more exhausting than productive right now since she was too tired to even get mildly irritated much less angry but the thought of Caelan floating made her smirk. He was a really interesting guy. He was short tempered, violently impulsive, slightly sadistic and could be very intimidating at times but there was more to him. She couldn't forget the expression on his face when he spoke to her about them being partners. He looked almost...cute. There is no way that a true psycho could make such a shy and vulnerable expression. Everyone had their good and bad sides right? She kind of wanted to see that warm smile of his again. It was soothing, compared to all the glares and scorns she had seen on peoples faces today. She turned one more time and saw a door with light shining through it. Had she found the place at last? Only one way to find out. She stepped outside, momentarily blinded by the sunlight. She rubbed her eyes with her sleeve, it took her a few seconds and half a dozen blinks to see clearly again. What she saw was Caelan, surrounded by pebbles, sitting on the floor in his zen mode. His back was to her so she couldn't see his face but she didn't have to. Swallowing the rest of the water she made her way towards him, stopping a few feet away as to not bump into his pebble display. "So by the tranquil master of harmony and the lovely display of levitating pieces of this beautiful land...I shall assume this Floating Zen 101?" She said it in a playful voice, placing the bottle on the floor next to her and bowing dramatically in respect to the teacher before her. She didn't feel like she was about to pass out anymore, enough water was back in her system it seemed. Her entire body felt heavy though and she craved a bed that was not available at the moment. So why not try to enjoy herself a little in this hell hole after today? She was allowed to be a dork now and then.

When she straightened up from her dramatics she noticed someone else in the area. It was a girl. Kat sighed, hoping that this girl wasn't like the last three weirdos she had encountered. Now that she thought about it, she hadn't had a single pleasant encounter with a girl all day. First the mess in her room with Desire, the blatant disregard for any courtesy about the fact that it was HER room not someone else's by everyone in general including that odd Venom girl, the awkward encounter with Judy that later let to another awkward exchange that had not been any better than the first. Kat felt almost afraid to even attempt to communicate with this new girl, she was too exhausted to get in another fight, to frustrated to argue, too sleepy to even walk that far really. So she did the less exhausting thing she could think of and probably the least hostile thing she did all day, she waved at the girl.

Control. Must. Maintain. Control

Caelan, externally, settled back onto the ground while the stones continued to rotate around him. Internally, Caelan had cut himself off from the outside world. The desert ceased to exist. The Academy, demolished. His emtions in harmony. He had become the master of his own domain. He had retreated into his own mind and soul, trying to wrestle his own emotions into control. He was long gone.

A pitch black void. Devoid of everything, filled with nothing. Only Caelan stood alone, his arms outstretched at his sides. He accepted the nothingness, allowed it to flow through him and expunge the turbulent emotions that raged within him. The roiling chaos seemed to seep from him and flow out. With his distractions eliminated, Caelan began his mental exercises. At a twitch of his hand, his own version of existence flowed into being. Sweeps of his hands created asteroid fields, black holes, and constellations. His hands moved, and the space obeyed. Planets, galaxies, and suns grew, flourished, died, and recycled themselves, further continuing the cycle of existence. He was god. However, as he strode through his creating, an unnerving presence haunted him. Something lurked in the darkness, acting against his own creations. Unraveling them, destroying them. Seekeing to usurp his rule. Caelan sought out the intruder, heading deep into his mental universe. The further he strode, the less of his masterpiece he saw. When he was surrounding by nothing but blackness once more, the blackness spoke back.

”You. You think yourself the master of your own universe. You think yourself perfect. You are far from it, Caelan. You and I both know it.

Caelan turned, facing the anomaly in his creation. A silhouette faced him. He didn’t need to guess to know whose silhouette it was. The shadowy version of himself wavered, flowed, and stared back at him with hard crimson eyes. Expressions of outrage, hatred, anger, and sorrow flashed across shadow Caelan’s face. The only constants were the two angry crimson eyes. Eyes that were exact copies of his own.

You know nothing of control, Caelan. You never have. You never will. It’ll always be the same. I will always be there to get in your way. You’ll lose control, again. You’ll crush those you care about until they cease to be. Starting with that pretty redhead we seem to like. Katherine was it? Just imagine how she'll look lying broken before you, bleeding into that beautiful red hair of hers. Try as you might, you’ll only fail. As you’ve always failed. I’ll watch, and laugh. As always.

No. Not this time. I will master you, you will bow before me. I WON’T DO IT AGAIN.

At Caelan’s outburst, something changed within him and with the shadowy version of himself. The dark Caelan’s form sharpened while his own began to waver. He could feel it, as strange a feeling as it was. In his moment he knew his downfall. He couldn’t let himself become that
 thing
 in front of him.

”I will conquer you. I WILL not lose this. I can’t lose! I won’t!

"So by the tranquil master of harmony and the lovely display of levitating pieces of this beautiful land...I shall assume this Floating Zen 101?"

Katherine’s voice ripped Caelan from his inner confrontation back to the desert. Back to the Academy. The stones slowed their orbit and settled, creating a ring around himself. He opened his eyes, blinking in the overwhelming brightness for a brief moment before he could see again. Katherine playfully bowed before him, like a student before their master. He stood, returning the bow with a flourish.

”Well then, student, approach so we may begin the lessons. We will see what you can become during your studies.

Caelan noticed a girl sitting off in another portion of the courtyard. She looked a little too young to be here, but it wasn’t completely out of the question. Who knows what her powers were? He decided that he’d play at the level-headed figurehead and beckoned her over in turn. ”You can join in too, if you want. Or watch, whatever works!

ile only staring at the man for a few moments, Amelia saw from the corner of her eye another person enter the courtyard, this time it was a lady with long red hair. The lady walked over to the man and spoke to him, she seemed to be trying to act playful towards him as she spoke and then bowed, this made Amelia wonder what kind of relationship the two had.
Only after finishing her one-way conversation did the lady then look over to realize that Amelia was in the courtyard too and so the lady waved.

Amelia was surprised at first that she had been noticed, the man didn't seem to see her before he started meditating, but naturally she waved back. Then, only a few seconds later the man's display of rocks and stones settled themselves and stopped moving as the man then opened his eyes and stood to reply to the girl. He seemed playful too, which was a change to how Amelia saw him before, angry and frustrated, she assumed the meditation was working. After finishing replying to the lady and ushering her to sit with him, Amelia realized this must have been a meditation session between the two, and her thoughts were only confirmed when the man asked if she'd like to join.

After the man's seemingly kind gesture of finally noticing her and offering her a place in their sessions, Amelia then stood and lifted her bat up, letting it rest against her shoulder as she walked over to the two, waiting until she came level with the man and the red-headed lady before she spoke in her quiet, monotone voice, "No, sorry... sport is my form of meditating and since I can not.." Amelia pulled the bat down off of her shoulder and tapped it in her palm, feeling the cold metal as she spoke, "I will go have to find something else, so that I do not disturb your session.." and with that small bit of speech, Amelia made her way out of the courtyard and back inside the building, heading directly to her room.

After putting the baseball bat safely away, Amelia began to think of what she said earlier about sport being her own form of meditation and so decided that, if she could no longer play baseball, she would go for a swim as she was certain there was said to be a pool here. Once appropriately dressed in her swimsuit and equip with a towel, goggles and sandals, Amelia left her room, closed the door and made her way down to the room which contained the pool.

Once there, Amelia placed her stuff down in a corner of the room. She made certain to fold up her towel neatly and then place the sandals on top so they would stay put and stay clean. Then, after securing her things, Amelia pulled her goggles down over her eyes and made her way to the edge of the pool, taking a deep breath before diving in and beginning breast-stroke once she had resurfaced. Half-way down the length of the pool, Amelia noticed the sound of sobbing and stopped her self so she could listen and look around for the source. It turned out to be another man, dripping wet on the side of the pool in his own swimming gear. Curious. Amelia decided to swim over to him, but she knew of the possibilities the others may of had with their powers, so she stayed in the water and kept herself afloat as she looked up at him on the edge and spoke, "Why are you crying?" she asked the man, her voice similar to the emotionless, monotone vibe it had earlier. Amelia waited for the man's reply, tilting her head slightly in curiosity as she noticed the man starting to flicker and waver in and out of existence.

Kats arrival must have gotten the boys attention. The impressive display of a mini milky way of pebbles floating around him slowed it's flow until it all stopped in one smooth motion. The objects floating around around him still looked impressive in their stilled motion. Caelan stood up and took his own graceful bow, the expression on his face mirrored the one she had seen the moment they met. A relaxed and warm atmosphere surrounding him. It almost made Kat want to draw what she was seeing. He was really something to look at under the sun. Those captivating golden eyes, that alluring contrast between his tanned skin and his cloud white hair, his almost unreal height ...they almost made him look angelic. If angels could be blood thirsty devils with explosive tempers and psychotic humor. That zen thing worked faster that she expected if he already had himself under control. Maybe he just had that much more control than she did? That sounded a lot more realistic.

”Well then, student, approach so we may begin the lessons. We will see what you can become during your studies. You can join in too, if you want. Or watch, whatever works!" He spoke to her first, an almost silent challenge hidden in his statement. What possible change could her gaining control over her temper bring? Then again, she hadn't even overcome doing silly parlor tricks with her owners because if she tried anything more powerful she would loose it. She would always end up bringing herself to her physical limits a lot faster and collapse, sometimes for days at a time. If she could pull back, hold back her emotions during her power use, then maybe just maybe she could be capable of more. That idea filled her with the urge to take this zen thing a lot more seriously. He spoke to the girl that was across the courtyard from them, breaking her train of thought. The small girl made her way towards them in response, bat in hand, and stopped in front of them. Her childlike eyes scanning both Caelan and Kat curiously. She tapped the bat with her hand and spoke in a quiet almost robotic voice, as if the words were a second thought and her mind was already on something else.

"No, sorry... sport is my form of meditating and since I can not...I will go have to find something else, so that I do not disturb your session.." With that, the tiny female left through the same doors that Kat had just walked through. That made her thoughts on whether this girl would be like the rest fly out the window. She wouldn't even get the chance to find out, she was just brushed off like half the people in the cafeteria. Ok, it was official. Every single girl in this place was a nut job. She had never gotten along with girls but this was ridiculous. Either they treated Kat like a child or someone beneath them or ignored her presence all together. This place was really getting on her last nerve. With her back to Caelan, still watching the door as it swung closed, she spoke in a mildly annoyed voice.

" You know...I am starting to feel lucky I got you as a roommate instead of a girl. The people here are a special kind of strange...Almost creeps me out to think of what it would be like to room with someone like Desire or Venom. Psh. That would not end well. She shook her head in dismay and turned towards him, a small but determined smile on her rosy lips. The idea dissolved quickly with the promise of reality. She didn't have to think about them, just her real roommate. Her partner. She walked towards him until she was just two feet away, her long red hair dancing in the soft breeze. He towered over her almost comically, she stood up straight trying to look taller. " What's my first lesson? Sensei. " She felt the gentle warmth of the sun caress her milky white skin, a slight fear of a sunburn lingering deep in the back of her mind. That same warmth light up her big grey eyes like two shards of glass on the beach, making them sparkle like gems.

Judy just wanted to have a few female friends for once in her life. As she made her way back to her dorm, she began to cry, which made Panther upset. All her life she was never one to have friends. Animals were here only friends. Crying as she got to her dorm, putting Panther down, she threw herself down on her bed and sobbed.
