College

Jevon looked at his watch, then looked around the room. A little after 4 and no roommate yet. Well, it would be nice to have his own space if he ended up not having one. Still, right now he was just bored. He had spent most of the summer in this dorm room alone while working at the radio station for practicum credit, and during that time the campus had been pretty quiet, considering not as many people stuck around for summer courses.

He closed his MacBook, slid it into a sleeve, then put it in his messenger bag. Jevon decided to take his work to his favorite local coffee place. He went out to his car, the old firebird his dad had given him when he was accepted in to college -- he had been so proud that Jevon was going to make something of himself.

A few minutes later, he was sitting in the back corner of The Muse, his back to the wall and his laptop open on the table in front of him. He glanced up from the computer as he took a drink of his iced coffee and noticed a vehicle he had seen on campus earlier pulling up outside. It was a hard one to miss -- not many people around here drove a minibus. The girls getting out of it looked to be like they were probably Freshmen too. Jevon debated with himself about whether or not he should introduce himself.

Kimi walked up to the counter and paused when she looked at the selections. Earlier she had been set on getting a caramel macchiato, but now she figured, why not try something new? "What's the Milton milkshake like?" she asked the barista. He told he it was a shake made with espresso, vanilla ice cream, hazelnut flavoring, and topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. "Sounds great," Kimi said. "I'll try one of those." She paid for her drink and stepped aside to let Alaska order.

Jevon made up his mind. He stood up and walked over to the counter where the girls were. "Hey," he said with a smile. "You two are going to Generisch, right?"

"Yeah!" said Kimi, returning the smile. "We're both just starting. You go there too?"

Jevon nodded. "Yeah. I'm a Freshman too, but I've been doing a course over the summer so I've been here since the beginning of June. My name's Jevon, by the way."

"I'm Kimi, and this," Kimi raised her arms to present Alaska, "is my roommate Alaska."

"Nice to meet you two," Jevon said. "You're welcome to have a seat over here with me while you have your coffee."

Alaska ordered as Kimi was talking to Jevon. "I'll just have an iced espresso." she paid and turned to smile at him. As they wait for their drinks Alaska wondered what he was studying. Since he had been there since June, she was curious. "What course where you taking during the summer?" The barista gave them their drinks and they sat together on a table. She sipped on her iced espresso. Alaska liked her coffee strong. It was no wonder why she hardly ever slept.

Armonie

Armonie finished unpacking her stuff and looked around her room. She still had no roommate. She pulled her cellphone out to see her brother had texted her back saying he was going to the party later that day for the freshmen. She climbed on her bed and texted him back.'Hey I'm bored so I'm coming over to your room ok XO. be there in a sec.'. After sending him the message she decided to change into a blue dress. She was planning on wearing it to the party and since she didn't know how long she was going to be in her brothers room she decided to just put it on. After grabbing her black flats she grabbed her cellphone and headed out the door towards her brothers room. Once arriving at his door she knocked and waited for him to answer.
