Name: Lara Catherine McIntosh
Age: 19
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Alliance: villain
Power: Laser vision- generating pure heat beams from her eyes, this enables her to melt, weld (ect.) objects. So far she is only able to control the amount of heat being projected (i.e. enough to melt metal or just enough to give someone a first degree burn) and also the range (i.e. a thin line at a specific target which concentrates the heat to cut a specific shape or a wide range which causes hot air to escape making a big gust of wind, the latter won't be hot enough to actually melt or disintegrate anything it's just like a really strong warm wind). The thing with her power is the wider the area that she tries to blast the cooler her power becomes. She also has to be facing her target to use her power, so if someone were to come up behind her she would have to find other means to take them down.
Skills: She is a fast learner meaning that she rarely makes the same mistake twice; she has great marksmanship making it easier to use her power at long distances, when people say she has good eyes this is what they're referring to sometimes this skill of hers even seems unnatural, but in reality it isn't just well practiced; she isn't scared of breaking the rules if it means a better outcome for herself; her mind works quickly and efficiently (a situation that would fit this is if she were trapped on a cliff she would jump and then use her power to slow the fall at the end and she would do this with little hesitation); and she works best alone (though this could be either a good thing or bad thing, but when she does work alone things tend to get done faster and better than if she worked in a group)
Weaknesses: She has a habit of not showing and even repressing emotions which for her at the time makes things better, but the outcomes are always worse; her eyes are very sensitive so if even a drop of water gets in them it'll annoy her and her power will momentarily be disabled; since she doesn't wear any protective eye-wear to help her control her power she has to focus on keeping it at bay all the time, meaning everything she does and says is done so with much fore-thought and if she were to start going on impulses she would lose control of her power; she has an unnatural draw to books and will most likely go on impulses if something were to happen (especially old books); she likes to be in control of every aspect of her life and when one goes haywire so will she and her power (this can be bad initially, but her guard will be let down as she tries to regain control)
Likes: Classic/old books, the color red (...like blood...), candlelight, opera and orchestral music, snow/Christmas, and metal working
Dislikes: Dusty places and dirt roads (too many things to get in her eyes), water (except for hot showers, she isn't a bath taker), chaos, Halloween (she isn't big on "horror" things, though she doesn't let herself get scared too easily), and useless trinkets (they annoy her because she could think of millions of things that could be put in their place that
would be useful)
Personality: Lara is a very intellectual person. She is not only smart, but logical as well. She can make connections in her head that others didn't even know existed, meaning that she is a very misunderstood girl. Being so logical also means that she doesn't know how to act socially, she has her own way of acting. Though she does have feeling, they are rarely seen and, in her case, known for she represses them until they are unnoticeable and unrecognizable anymore. When walking down a street or hallway she comes across very arrogant and very cold. She isn't afraid to correct someone when she knows their wrong and doesn't really know what people think or say about her, so it just goes over her head. Because she doesn't know how to hold herself while in a social place, she tends to be odd. She'll smile, but the smile will be off as if she isn't sure she if she should smile or not, she tells people what is on her mind or what she is really thinking without sugar coating or lying. So if someone were to ask what she was up to and she answers back that she's plotting to kill someone, it isn't a joke. Though her face will be completely straight and emotionless that people think she is joking. Lara is arrogant, she knows that she's smart, and smarter than what to her is most, so she'll purposefully talk in riddles, really only about the little things such as what are you having for breakfast, to not only confuse the person who asked the question, but to prove to them just how smart she is.
Lara doesn't take bull-crap from anyone and will call people out on it, she'll also come across as "sassy" when people start to annoy her because she knows that that is the quickest way to get them to leave. Since she has many quirks and attributes that keep people away, as well as pushes them, she is a very independent girl. She knows what she wants and will get it at almost any costs. If someone else is in danger she'll most likely leave them there, unless it will have some gain to her in the future. She works better on her own because she has her own ways of getting things done and done quickly adding another person into that equation only slows her down because their actions are unpredictable. That being said she is very controlling. Not really of other people, unless what she wants out of them is running longer than expected, but mostly of her own life. She likes to know when things are being, how they effect her, so that she can have a plan ready to counter it with efficiency. Throw her schedule off or make her life chaotic and she will scramble to get things back into a stable place. She is also a lover of books and stories, they tell her of lives where the people are care-free and take things as they come, what she isn't and what she would love to be. Hurt her books and those repressed emotions come alive because it's taking away her escape from who she is. She would love friends, to be able to live and be adaptive instead of planning every bit, to let her emotions run wild and let people in, but her powers don't allow that if she lets anything go wild then her powers will run wild as well and everything would be destroyed.
History: Her emotions aren't the only things being repressed. There are certain things about her past, small and yet destructive, that she forced out of existence, things that she won't remember at all at this point. She never remembers having a family, parents included, people just never existed in her life at all. She lived in a broken home at the end of a broken road. Her early life is a mystery to her, only dark and shadowy figures moving around remain if anything at all, but she does remember being by herself and learning quickly how to live. The house always stayed clean and food was always there. There wasn't much in the house to fill it up, and there was one room at the end of the hall that she never remembered was there along with scorch marks and holes that ran from one end of the hall to the next. As the years went on, when she was ten, she started collecting books, whether they were from the library or stolen. Her living room, that only had one chair and a fireplace, was soon filled with piles of books. Then the books were used for making friends, when reading she would become the main character who had many friends and a family to save. Then someone came to her broken house at the end of her broken road. It was a young man, no older than 25. She was weary of him, but let him stay the night because he was first person she had met or seen.
The man soon became like a brother to her, he found out about her power and taught her tricks that might help; which they did in very small ways. She thought he was going to stay there forever, and be her family that she needed. This however was not true. His story was different and the two both had different endings, their stories were only to cross at one point, but then go their separate ways. He had only stayed for the three years that he did because he had gotten a note from the woman he loved that told him to meet her on the broken road; this is why everyday he would go and wait on the road for hours. Eventually he figured she lied and then left because there was nothing tying him to that place anymore. This destroyed Lara as her life was thrown in to chaos once more. Then her house was destroyed; now broken pieces at the end of the broken road.
Then others came, brought to this hidden place that was left alone by the show that was put on after Lara's so called brother had left. They took her in, took her to a place that they called the base, but they were too late. They hoped to get to her soon enough to make a connection to her to grab her loyalty, but at this point she had turned her emotions off. She let them take care of her, though for the most part she still took care of herself. She let them teach her more because she was eager to control her power. That broken house that now lay in rubble soon became a story to her, something that she figured she had read out of a book and so she has never gone back to it since. She stayed to herself mostly, reading as many books as she could, now they were used for showing her what she wanted to be instead of what she came to know herself as what she must; not that anyone told her to be this, but because she was following her own rules. The more that someone tried to get close to her the more that she found herself further from everyone. All she wants was someone to help her out of the rubble that she built around herself, even if that means doing so with her fighting against them. The more that the villains, as she soon found them to be, taught her the more she excelled at her power. The villains also tried to help her remember her past, thinking there was something in there that they could use to help turn her completely; but while they were digging Lara came to the conclusion that those shadows were people that came into her house and killed her family. Though this isn't her real memory, the villains saw there opportunity and so now Lara is searching anywhere she can to find those people, to exact her revenge.
Other: Her memories are just starting to come back, right now the shadowy images are becoming more like blurry people and the faces she remembers seeing she believes to be the ones that killed her parents.
