The God Slayers

The God Slayers

0 INK

The human race has vanished, the Four Great Gods have disappeared, and now the Fallen have risen again to finish what they started 1000 years ago. (No longer accepting RPers.)

2,915 readers have visited The God Slayers since Roxxy created it.

Introduction

Hundreds of years ago the human race ruled the lands of Anidon. There were four Great Houses; The House of Triat (the Chosen), The House of Saviesa (of Wisdom), The House of Forca (of Strength) and The House of Escut (the Shield). They ruled their lands and people well, and had been given great respect from all other races. But one day, the Fallen God, Parishio sent a hoard of monsters to attack and kill all of the mortal realm for he had felt they were guilty of crimes against him and his kin. Seeing this, his siblings went down to the four corners of the world and spoke the the mortals.
"They spoke as one; 'We are the Four Great Gods, we who claim Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. Our brother has watched your world and deemed you guilty of crimes against us, thus punishing you to death. We who are Four have seen the error in his ways, we see that you are not perfect, nor free of fault, but are forgiven in these things with the love you hold for life and each other. Your cries and fears have been heard. These beasts can not be killed with merLe mortal weapons, but there is hope.' They spread their arms, the elements they possessed swirling around them with terrifying brilliance. 'Embrace us, promise us your loyalty and love, and we shall grant you our Gifts. With these powers you shall persevere and flourish.'"
All but the human race bowed down before them, accepting their gifts of magic, and together, were able to defeat the Fallen Gods monsters.
The humans, however, angered, rallied against their saviors, killing off Demi-Gods one by one. Soon they were known as God-Slayers, and feared by all.
Unwilling to eliminate them like their brother had tried to, the four other Gods locked the humans away deep underground, wrapped in cacoons of magic so that they might sleep until a prophecy could be fulfilled.
Now, three hundred years later, the Four Great Gods have disappeared and the magic surrounding the humans is beginning to weaken. Some have begun to awaken, and the world is not as they left it...

When the horse made a complete stop beside the two elves, Calais jumped down from it with a slightly clumsy ploshh, splashing mud about his feet. His legs felt heavy and his lower back hurt - perhaps from the fall. He hadn't realized it until now. His bangs clung to his forehead, wet from rain and persperation. Brushing them out of his eyes, he extended his hand to the horned girl, offering to help her onto her feet.

Just then, a howl pierced the thick, humid air. Eyes wide, Calais' head snapped toward the direction of the noise. Did that come from that huge white creature? It was still nearby!? Turning back toward the others, he saw that the hooded girl intended to follow the creature.

"Are you sure you want to do that? That boy will probably be okay. I mean...the monster seemed pretty protective of him." He shifted his weight from foot to foot nervously and thought about the situation. He owed the girl his life and here she was about to run into blatant danger to save yet another person. Was everyone this noble? Calais didn't think so. This girl was different and either way, she'd saved him so...

"You look like you've already made up your mind," he added solemnly, "If you go then I...I'm coming with you."

Iaro walked from the long stairs hearing the heavy breath of Ulrio and his men, they were becoming old so told there greying hair. Iaro walked proudly with a firm position he had what he wanted a obvious sign of weakness and the voting had already started. Hundred's of dwarf's gathered in front of the state building where Ulrio met the already there Iaro. The king of the dwarf's said in front of his people as tradition demanded "Let us vote for the worthiness of our king and protector as our ancestor did and there children will do." Iaro burned his eye's in the back of the current king seeing the difference in his posture from the beginning. "But I have something to tell you my blessed people. There's a traitor in our presence come here Iaro and accept your punishment for your crimes Meriodite user!" Iaro merely took up a surprised expression before he spoke in a concerned tone "Ulrio? My lord why do you accuse me of such a thing? Are you all right?"

The large warrior snapped this moment, he had seen it he was sure the cold behavior combined with the intelligence and focus wasn't normal. The moral wasn't also a fallen worshiper Iaro had to be but his violent old mind came up with one selection of actions, kill him. The Dwarf in front of his people grabbed his weapon the large axe and he made a devastating strike at Iaro that instead hit the wall that gave in without protest. Ulrio raised his weapon again to fire another hit but a guard grabbed the weapon's instead stopping it from making another attack. Three guards took the king into custody chaining his hands with so much trouble one ended dead as the enraged dwarf was stronger than a ox but still he was brought away. The people were scared but Iaro quickly acted "I think Ulrio lost his mind to age and the coming voting of his people accusing me to still be king after this vote." this seemed very logical to the people and the voting soon started. Iaro left the stage he had just in time dodged the axe he was sure it would have killed him but the final rage and attack had done there job the people were convinced Ulrio had gone mad and it would be now very easy to put the dwarf in prison for a few years. But his work wasn't over Iaro sat down in a small chamber meant for storage and he looked to the map and the knife trying to find if this was really to be trusted.

A human couldn't have made magic so they were removed from the list but only they could make such a knife. Only the best of the dwarf's could ever make such a lock but not a knife. Only the best and most trusted of the elf's could know were so they also were put back on the list. Iaro turned the stone over studying the underside better he had felt something and it seemed to be a name BM a famed Dwarf that could have made such a thing. A click in Iaro's mind told it this was brought together but not meant to be brought together. The stone had to have been stolen and changed by the humans having knowledge from the elf's but then again how did they change it this way? No the dwarf and the elf had to have been working together with the human dagger stolen but why would they? All of the three races had to have constructed it that was the only answer the humans had to have hired BM and maybe captured the elf just before they were put to sleep Ulford had to have been in the cafes were the humans had been....but wouldn't he had to have been killed then? "There's another way in, a way the shadow walker's don't know about." That was the pure answer he had found a way Ulford knew much more than people thought he knew and now all of that knowledge was about to fall into Iaro's hands as he for the first a dark laugh spread up from his chest it was small not loud but he hadn't smiled or laughed in a long time this was pure sadism not happiness.

Hymnis was still awake, she wanted to look around to the what other damage the fire had cost her. Slowly but surely she used her magic to fix what she could, from growing flowers to the trees. It took simple work and all she had to do was mutter a few enchantments. She noticed a horse figure with two elves. It was the girl and the other boy. They were walking towards Cyazair and her. She smiled, mischievous but nevertheless it was still a smile.

The female asked what had happened, "He saved the forest and I am grateful," she coincided with a smirk as she continued to speak good about Cyazair.

The boy jumped down and extended his hand to her, she gladly took it and got back up. She patted herself off and thanked him with a wider smile and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Then she heard the howl that pierced through her ears. She didn't seem fazed as if she heard it a hundred times. The woods were bound to have strangers. She couldn't kill them all. She saw the horse shiver and wondered if horses could really do that.

"The shifter still has the boy... You have two options... You can help me drag Cyazair onto the horse and come with me, or," She turned to the female. "You can look after them both till I come back. The choice is yours."

"I shall follow," Hymnis answered with little hesitation, "I need to go home anyway, might as well join in," she said in her airy tone that was still hoarse from the smoke and ash. She looked at the boy, "You will help me carry Cyazair, I'm not one for heavy load," Was that an insult?

She glanced back at the girl and suddenly found her odd. There was something strange about her, "I'm Hymnis and I've lived here for years," she said, "Are you from here or from somewhere else where you lot look funny?" I hope that wasn't deliberate.

"Says the elf with horns." She shot back with a grin. She walked to Cyazair's side, eyeing him then the horse whom eyed her back. The beast took a step forward, eyes intent on the elf boy. "Bite him and I'll use your mane and tail for a new bow and your bones for a dagger." She growled the warning and the two stared off again. She would never admit how in love she was falling with the creature, her old companions all over again.

The horse was tall and it would take all three of them to put the Feral Elf on its back if he didn't awaken soon, and from the looks of things Roslyn didn't believe that would be happening anytime soon. She grabbed him under one arm, careful to lift him part way, waiting for the woman to help as well, the boy, she figured might be too small for the task.

"I come from the north originally. But I've been gone for a fair bit a time." She trusted neither of them completely, and so she refused to remove her hood. Her secrets were her own till they managed to convince her otherwise... Though the shifter might pose more of a problem.

Iaro walked out of the room it would take six's days for every one to vote and to have counted the vote's probably more and a king wasn't needed to be at his own election the ritual would just be waiting for his return but still was smart to leave now? Iaro took his hand over the knife that seemed truly useless but then again he didn't know how it worked. Iaro got another look at the stone another clue had to have been hidden, his hand's went over the disrupted symbols that now formed the map with the rhyme.

"Were the sky is bright and the ground is green will lay the mother of all, the queen of responsibility and law Lin."

The position was the I on will serving to put importance on the map but Iaro could look further than a simple rhyme it was a false on he knew that Ulford thought not in glory nor did he wish it to be exposed that was the simple thing Iaro had learned in his time. Ulford had given his relic to Mer only because he thought he could trust the dwarf wishing to preserve knowledge and skill instead of destroying it. Iaro came up with idea putting pressure on both side's that after a struggle gave in breaking up to expose the double floor. Iaro had known Ulford got out that someone would think another clue was hidden the same way the other was but instead it had been hidden with brute force instead of knowledge. The double ground had a small piece of paper that Iaro quickly opened and read but instead four dot's were brought over the piece of paper. Iaro walked to his office putting it under a transparent map making it possible to look at it. The four dot's were the places that could be every god's sleeping place but the sheer fact of the level of it being so unclear was annoying even to Iaro. He put his hand on the spot on the map where the green dot ended correctly "The wailing chambers, interesting."

Feeling the hot breath of the horse on the back of his neck, Calais jumped slightly at the girl's warning. He looked over his shoulder to see the mare's large black eyes staring into this own. It was a chilling glare but also one of sadness. He had taken the horse from its owner - whoever they were. No use worrying about it now though. He had bigger problems at the moment.

Slowly stepping away from the horse, Calais stared at the girl called Hymnis for a moment. There was something unsettling about her. She looked mild and sweet, but her smile didn't match. Even the girl's necklace looked creepy. He couldn't imagine any normal person choosing to wear something like that. For now he would trust her. It wasn't fair if he didn't. After all, she hadn't done anything wrong to him. And her home did just catch fire. She gestured toward the unconscious man. "You will help me carry Cyazair. I'm not one for heavy load." 'Well that was kinda demanding,' Calais thought. Or maybe he was just overreacting? After all, here they were in the middle of a smoldering forest about to go chase after a monster. He supposed manners can step aside. Calais brushed the thoughts from his mind and turned his attention to the other girl. She was busy pulling up the elven man by the arm.

"O-okay." Shuffling over to the other side, Calais grabbed hold of the man's other arm and helped the girl lift him upright. It was surprising how heavy a person could be - especially when they couldn't move themselves. Still, he held his breath and strained to drag the man over to the horse. For an instant, he had a vision of the vindictive creature bucking and kicking him in the head. Swallowing hard, he forced himself not to think about it.

With a few grunts and a bit more persperation, Calais managed to flop the elven man's body over the saddle of the horse with the help of the other girl. He crouched on the ground for a moment, resting his arms and panting softly. Looking up at the unconscious man he asked, "Are you sure he'll be okay? Maybe we should take him back to the city instead?" He decided it would be a bit too much to suggest that everyone go to a tavern to wash up, get a hot meal, a fluffy bed, and laugh about how crazy the night had been. He'd settle with this tiny attempt at persuasion.

He opened bag and took out the rock, smashing it in half upon the blade of his axe, as instructed by the books he had read. Laying the rock down he sat back on the bed and stared at it. Nothing happened at first, but just as he was about to break the second one fumes of a slightly greenish color began to crawl their way outward from the stone. It twirled and moved towards the ceiling, the inside of the rock seemed to be sparkling a very dim green. Bor looked into it to see the source of the light but there didn't appear to be any. Finally, as instructed, he placed his face over the stone and began to breathe in the fumes.

At first there was nothing but a stale smell, which Bor initially thought was the room. Then came a slight doziness, he seemed to loose the feeling in his limbs and when he tried to move away from the fumes the feeling of sleepiness hit him. It took all his effort to keep his eyes open and he did a valiant job for a few moments. He reeled back, hitting his head on the wall, but he felt nothing, he was already asleep and dreaming.

Or was it actually happening? Bor couldn't tell. He walked through a town, the streets were clean but worn and the people were strong and proud. he had no doubt that this was the place of his birth, the South Clan's primary location, Darenshire. The people seemed bigger somehow, they were looking down at him, even the items seemed a little too big. Bor looked at his hands and his eyes widened. "Damn..." he mumbled. He was a child again, not more than 7 years as he guessed once he saw his own reflection in a water trough. He ground his teeth, looking every bit like an annoyed 7-year-old.
That was when he was tackled by a larger boy, around the age of 12. He hit his head on the road and it began to bleed. The force sent him rolling and the momentum moved him fast, he dislocated his shoulder. Bor lay there, coughing.
"Up boy. You live and your enemy still stands."
He knew that deep and resonant, commanding yet calming voice. As Bor's vision began to become less blurry he saw the figure standing before him, his father, in full armor, holding his polearm. Although physically Bor's body was that of a 7-year-old, mentally, a much older Bor was present. He got up using his one hand and charged the 12-year-old, ignoring the pain. Moments later the older boy was lying down bruised and bleeding while Bor looked down at him. A sudden pain coursed through his left arm as his father put his shoulder back into place. "Good." The Shifter said. It was the highest praise he had gotten from his father when it came to fighting, he would hardly ever hear it again.

Watching his father walk away Bor was slightly disappointed, he had wanted a vision of the future, not of what had passed. Then the scene whirled around him, things shifted, colors blended into new ones. When everything settled he was in a field, but the grass was changing color, from green to red. He waited, the new environment will settle down soon and he'll be able to to find out what's going on. But the red as flowing through the grass at a steady pace, it was slow and eerie. The dream wasn't changing, this was part of it. A 7-year-old Bor looked up and saw mounds of bodies, carrion flew overhead. They seemed to be his people but he realized that none had died in their other forms. These were not shifters, but humans. Something had killed them, hundreds of them. They were scattered everywhere. He then recognized 2 scents that confirmed his thoughts. One of humans and the second of death. Bor blacked out. His body lay in the bed, sleeping for the next several hours.

"Amazing..." Sita heard a whispery voice say in awe. Her eyes fluttered open, then she bolted upright after becoming aware of her surroundings. She was laying on a bed under a blank that made her itch. She was in someone's home. Her eyes drifted to her right were a man stood over her gazing down with curiosity and some manner of satisfaction.

"Who...are you?" She asked the man.

The man stopped staring. His eyes jumping up from her body, to her strikingly pale irises. "oh...ehh.. I am Jarias. Jarias of the Doltek Clan. Pleased to meet you. My brothers and I discovered you just outside of the burning forest. You were unconscious so we took you to safety. Thank Fiona for blessing our forest with her precious rain drops...."

As the elf continued to drone on, Sita's thoughts engulfed her. Tanith...what was the resolve? Had the dwarves taken him down as she intended or did he lay waste to the dwarven city? What of the daughter of Triat? Did she escape the forest? Surely she was alive considering what the elf was telling her. Perhaps she ran into the snow white shifter again and met an end. No...surely one who is capable of killing demi-gods wouldn't fall so easily to a single shifter. Surely.

Sita kicked the blankets off of her and got out of the bed. Jarias stared up at her, his bottom lip quivering at full sight of her bare skin. The Shadow Walker felt no modesty when it came to this false guise. Before the start of this journey, her body had never once felt the touch of thread against it. She tightened the her right hand into a fist. Though there was still some pain, the bones seemed to have healed completely. "I thank you Jarias for the aid of you and your kin. But I must leave immediately. I'm bound by duty and I'm falling behind every second I stay." Sita walked off towards the door and nearly exited the house before Janus stopped her, his face as red as freshly plucked cherries.

"You're not.....errr you're not wearing any clothes...Let us atleast dress you before you leave?"

Iaro stepped up from his place raising his arm's to the arch priest "I will ask for help as our old tradition demands." Iaro put the old page in front of the tall elf that towered above him "I see you have prove of old tradition you can go." Iaro had simply dug up some old book Dwarf's had the habit to write everything they knew down so you could do anything you wanted if you could find a book about it and about everything was a book even a excuse to walk around naked wile screaming that the end was coming could be found in one of these old dusty books. Iaro bowed and left the room alone the supplies had already been gathered eight of his most loyal men would follow him but still he wasn't really happy with that these men would fight to there dead to defend there future king but would they fight for a cold heartless manipulator that would kill a child without any remorse?

Iaro was still underground but now he had reached the great system a mine cart system. His feet toughed the cold steel ground of the cart before three others joined him and some supplies but three other cart got the same thing supplies and men loaded in it before the break was removed. The cart's were made for transport of food and minerals people was a simple thing for the dwarf construction. The stone way's soon shot besides him in a quick lighting speed way. "Sir?" Iaro looked at the dwarf "Yes?" The dwarf doubted for a second "Where are we going?" Iaro said calmly "The wailing halls."

Feeling Fiona's touch surround his body, Tanith left the rescued forest. He wouldn't contend with one of the gods, not in his condition. He traveled away from the dwarven city, something he swore he would burn to the ground very soon. Catching the sight of a high peak he cast any objective he had to the hard ground far below and charged towards it. Perching himself onto the snowy mountaintop he melted away the white carpet with his still continuous surge of heat. He felt the burning of his throat once again as he burned away the clouds above. They fled from his power for what must have been a square mile and he stared upwards. His eye was an unusable gash upon his face, he had let the human escape to pursue the construct that did this to him, and he had failed to even kill the child of Odin.

"Why do you protect them!?" His raging voice could be heard for miles in any direction. The peak had not only lost its beautiful coat, it was now scorched beneath the roaring dragon. "I will find you and end your betrayal of this world!"

The boys of the Doltek clan acquitted Sita with a dark tunic and white stockings. It was obviously male clothes, but she didn't care. Her hair still hung the same as it did before. They'd even given her a sword and map per her request. They insisted on giving her the sword. Jarias said "...the world is an unkind place. A woman shouldn't go wandering it without some sort of protection". Even though she didn't need it, she took it. Apparently the Doltek clan is a family of black smith's. The sword was given to her was a Jarias' very own creation. They'd given her these things eagerly, but asked her to do only a single thing in return. .Deliver a letter to a relative. The name of the person and city was on the letter. It was the least she could do.

Now, SIta was on her own once again. Wandering through the forest in search of the god slayer once again. The smell of fire, ash and rain were too over powering. She couldn't catch whiff of the human's scent. Atleast she now knew what the human smelled like.

Her ears perked up he faint echo of a belligerent roar at her back. It was so faint that if she were another creature she probably wouldn't have been able to hear it. "Was that...." She didn't finish. She had enemies. Sita couldn't allow anymore time to past. Under an enormous oak tree who's leaves were untouched by flame, the shadow walker closed her eyes and prayed. "Son of Lin...minor god of Death...Father of my people...steer me in direction of my charge..."

Opening his eyes to the morning sun Urthwhyte squinted and rose into an upward sitting pattern. Sniffing the air deeply he looked down at the boy next to him. He was still curled in a ball. Shaking him gently Urthwhyte drew his knife. "Wake up boy!" He commanded, "We still need to mark you in order for you to be more convincing as a shifter." The boy stretched and looked at him his eyes sad. Urthwhyte rubbed the child's back. "What is your name boy?" He asked softly. The child moved his body and lay his head against Urthwhyte's thigh. "Name's Juta." He said quickly. "NO!" Urthwhyte's head screamed at him. That was impossible. That name was extremely rare among anyone, it was one of the names shifters gave to their children born under the sun. It was also the name of his child. "Child," He said quietly. "Are you sure that is your name? That is a very territorial name. Are you sure you are not mistaken?" The boy turned his body and nodded slowly. "Very well." Urthwhyte said sighing. "We shall mark you today as one of my tribe. Clans are nothing other than a scare tactic. The tribe is where your power lies."He said pushing the boy off him as he drew his knife.

The boy lay on his back spread eagle. Urthwhyte kneeling next to him held up his knife and began to speak the words of his tribe.

As the ocean roars we show no fear. With this he made a small cut on Juta's cheek. As the fires blaze we show no remorse. With this he cut Juta's other cheek. As the winds howl we do not back down. With this Urthwhyte cuts a line from the top of Juta's eye to the bottom. Making sure not to cut the eyelid or the eye itself. Now bathed in the light of your forefathers I bid thee to arise and show your foes no mercy! Finishing the ceremony Urthwhyte watches as Juta stands and lets out a primal yell as if he was bathed in hot coals. Laughing he sat the child down. "When the others arrive, if they arrive we shall go see the harpies, lords of the skies."

"Says the elf with horns."

Hymnis rolled her eyes but genuinely thought it as a witty comeback. She glanced at the boy who was looking at her in an odd way. She was use to it though so she ignored him. She trusted them for now, the boy had attempted to save her but the girl left. But she was Cyazair's friend.

Hymnis grabbed Cyazair's waist and pulled him up. He was heavy indeed, thinking the last time she carried this much was a pig that just ate a sandwich with fattening potions. She needed them to give to underweight animals. Maybe it came with being too tall.

"My gods, what does he eat," She muttered under her breath as she carried him up the horse. The horse, if she could even call it that, seemed strong and sturdy yet for some reason, she felt fear. Not fear for herself but for the horse.

"I come from the north originally. But I've been gone for a fair bit a time" "Which part?" Hymnis inquired, attempting to start a happy conversation. She was well verse or at least good in geography. She still kept the maps in her cove of the men she may or may not of found dead. She didn't say anything about the girl's ears, Hymnis, herself, had horns. Some elves had definite deformations or at least that was what her mother told her.

She managed to put Cyazair on the horse, with help from the two. "Are you sure he'll be okay? Maybe we should take him back to the city instead?" Hymnis thought it was a caring but foolish suggestion.

"As much as I would love for us to be seen by common folks with a sleeping giant, two young ladies with abnormalities and young boy," Hymnis said, i was hard to tell if sarcasm was in her tone, "My home is near and you can stay if you please. It's only a mile or two from here, hopefully not burnt,"

Cyazair was sleeping peacefully, barely moving save the faint breathing that came from his lungs. When they lifted him up, he went into a haze: a sleeping stupor, being half awake but too asleep to do anything. He could hear Hymnis exclaim how heavy he was, and if he was awake he would have been instantly offended, saying he didn't weigh that much, and that he ate what he found: Fruits, animals, the works. But he was kinda asleep: You can't really answer a question like that.

And with that dream thought in mind, Cyazair smiled.
And dreamed of fun

Roslyn steadied the horse, handing the reins to the boy she searched for anything to tie Cyazair down with. She sighed in defeat, "Alright. One of you hop up and make sure he doesn't land on his face..." The image tried to pry her lips up but she denied it, barely. "Unless either of you objects to our hard work." She was content walking, and though she could manage to fire her bow from horse back she wasn't too keen on it.

"The city is a dangerous place for people like us. We're too different, too wild for the likes of them... Besides." She looked at Calais, "What would happen if the one you stole this horse from found you. There, I can not save you." She said matter-of-factly. She waited for one of them to choose who would climb up behind Cyazair, shifting her weight from foot to foot as she did so.

She knew which way the howl had come from, and it didn't seem to be too far from them, though it would be a decent walk. If they hurried the would find them before any nasty predators, or worse.

After hours Bor awoke suddenly, his boot hitting the foot-board of the bed, splintering the wood. He was breathing heavily. There had been more visions, darker things, unknown things, a shadow that covered the land. One that touched every living thing. he saw dwarf, elf and shifter die when covered by it, but it was the humans that had been torn apart, theirs was the most violent of deaths. He put the two images together, the masses of dead humans and the shadow killing everything. Something linked the two but he could not guess as to what. His head was aching, he knew he had to do something but was unsure of where to start. Bor couldn't help all the humans, he knew this. There was no one of political importance and influence that he could confide in because he had seen these vision with the help of an illegal substance. He knew of one human he could inform, though he wasn't sure how he'd explain it to her. The distance between the two of them may have been large by now. But it was his only shot at trying to do something.

Time was against him, with every moment Roslyn might be moving farther away. Though he wasn't pleased with it, Bor had no other choice. He picked up his axe and ran through the streets towards the entrance of the dwarven city, gaining speed with every step. He pushed his way through people, they were talking about something, he heard the words fire and dragon but paid little attention. Bor burst through the guards at the gate and finally released the beast he had kept contained. It seemed to tear apart his skin to reveal itself, as if it had been beneath his skin the entire time. The massive, seven and a half foot, frame of the black wolf reared up, still sprinting. It gazed around, the smell of burnt wood entering his nose as he felt the cool rain on his fur. He knew time was of the essence so he put his hilt of the axe between his jaws, dropped on all fours and tore through the earth towards the woods where he last saw Roslyn.

After feeding on a random elk. Sita wiped blood from her bottom lip with her snake like tongue. She sighed and continued to aimlessly walk. She reached into her satchel and pulled out a map of the land. After analyzing it for a few moments she folded it up and tucked it away. She continued to walk until she made it inot a clearing where she spotted the white shifter hovering over the child from before.

Sita watched them from an oak tree. She found the relationship between the shifter and the child odd. When she first stumbled upon him he was trying to kill a human, now here he was treating it as if it were his own. "It's as if you don't know whether to kill humans or hug them." Sita mocked from afar. Staring forward with her cold pale eyes. "Do you intend to keep it as a slave, shifter? Or a son?"

With a soft, melancholy sigh Calais accepted the girl's point. Going back into town wasn't the best option right now. Although chasing after that creature seemed an even worse option. And then Calais' mind went back to the dwarf he stole the horse from. If he ran into that stablemaster again...the very image made the boy shudder. 'No thanks...'

Calais looked over at Hymnis. "Would you like to?" He gestured toward the horse, Cyazair lying across it clumsily. She'd had it worse than him when the fire started. And besides, it was good manners to let the lady ride - his mother taught him all about chivalry...although she said it was dead. Either way, he'd let the girl ride the horse while he walked. Calais wasn't exactly keen on getting back atop the black beast anyhow...

Sniffing the air Urthwhyte smelt blood. Turning his head he saw the one that stopped him from killing the human. Handing the knife to the child he looked at him. "It is tradition to kill after you have been marked." He said coldly. Looking back at the one he knew only as 'The Intruder' he let out a low growl. "That is your target. I expect you to make her blood run as free as a damless river." Juta took a step forward and furrowed his brow in anger. "Kill!" He roared out. Running at the figure Juta tripped and lay on the ground facefirst. Standing up quickly Juta turned back to face Urthwhyte. "Kill again!" HE roared before turning back at The Intruder and running at her.

Sita whipped her tail out to trip the boy again. "You'll need centuries of training before you can kill me, small one." Sita jested. It was obvious to her that the child was an orphan. He seemed to be bound to the white shifter of his own liking. "Why would seek to stay at the side of one who hunts your own kind?" She spoke to the child apathetically. "If you wish...I could take you back to others like you. Where there are families...friends...human tradition and culture. Decide quickly," she yawned feeling a bit lethargic after such a huge meal. "I do have other things to do."

"You know, you guys sure talk a lot for not knowing each other at all..." Cyazair mumbled, starting to come out of his sleeping stupor. His back was killing him, but he still wasn't fully awake, so the pain felt like an annoying bite that you couldn't scratch. He felt as if he was bouncing up and down, flying on probably the worst cloud he had ever felt. Not that he had floated on a cloud though, that was just a metaphor.

"Are we there yet..." He yawned, starting to fall back into his sleep. He didn't know the last time his sleeping position was this uncomfortable: But they were 'saving' him, so he had to be grateful... sorta. He just wanted to get to where they were going and find a piece of grass somewhere to sleep. Or a cot if he was really lucky.

She considered pushing him off the horse and having him walk like the rest of them. But as he nodded off and began to doze again she stopped the urge. "Oh I'm sorry your majesty." She drawled, shaking her head in mock apology. "We'll be quieter next time, or maybe we'll just leave you on the ground all together so when you wake up you can find us where ever we are."

She walked on, shaking her head and fell silent.

Bor's darker form had been sniffing his way through the charred remains of the woodland's fringe. Yet deeper within, new life seemed to be growing steadily. He stood up and took the axe from his jaws, staring at the earth for signs of activity. He saw the remains of a campfire and prints on the ground, created by a large horse. He put his nose to the ground, the horse gave off a strong scent, even if the lands had burned. What was more was that he could smell the human as well. He looked up, squinted in the direction they were going and moved off once again.

Fairly soon his ears had picked up the sounds of conversation and he slowed down, moving quietly. He veered to the right, off of the trail and kept to the bushes, he didn't want to meet up with the wrong human and horse, confirmation before engagement was needed. He spotted Roslyn, if Bor's human form were present he would have smiled. He moved silently ahead and then appeared 10 feet in front of the horse. The seven and a half foot tall werewolf with a great axe caused the horse to stop and rear up a little.
The wolf pointed a finer at Roslyn. "You...human, I've been sent to find you. I am The Other. You walk a dangerous road, human woman. And you keep potentially ill company. But I am not here to judge your friends. You move too slowly. There is a darkness in these lands, something stalks its humans, destroying them with extreme prejudice."
The Other looked at Cyazair. I know your face too." He said, pointing the axe at Cyazair. "Let it be known, elf, that remaining with this woman is the same as risking your life." The Other shouldered the axe and stared at Roslyn. "Nevertheless, I too will be with you, for the things I have seen inside another man's head regarding your people are unknown to me, and I wish for answers."

Hymnis thought for a moment when Calais offered her. It wasn't as if she had never been on a horse but she preferred the solid ground. Then again, she could get a better view of the damage. She took Calais' hand and got up to the horse. It had been a year or more since she sat on once so she missed the feeling of the horses' mane. She touched it softly, "It's beautiful," she mentioned.

"You know, you guys sure talk a lot for not knowing each other at all..." Hymnis rolled her eyes. Was the horse going to fall with all this weight. She wasn't sure but expected Cyazair to be uncomfortable. Once he was asleep, she adjusted herself and placed him on her lap. Hopefully he would feel better than get a neck pain once he woke.

So they started traveling, she did nothing but help with damage with her magic. She grew the trees and flowers, making everything in their path fruitful and beautiful. She took an apple, hanging from a tree and bit into it. Then the horse neighed and moved back, it startled her as she grabbed the reins. she looked around find out what cause it to become frightened.

It was a werewolf...An ugly one at that. Maybe it should clean it's and get rid of the meat in it's teeth. It's voice was deep, manly. The only emotion she showed towards it was widened eyes of surprise. She wasn't scared or anything else like that, she had seen a werewolf running around for quite some time a year ago. He pointed at the girl and kept calling her human. That was impossible, humans were legends her mother use to tell her when she was young. Hymnis' eyes strayed to the axe, he kept talking to Cyazair despite the fact he was sleeping.

"I too will be with you....and I wish for answers." With a mutter, branches took the axe from behind and gave it to Hymnis. She thanked them with a smile before turning back to the werewolf, "What answers do you seek, sir and why do call her human?"

She crossed her legs as she shouldered the axe, "There is no such thing,"

Roslyn gave her a look that could kill. "There is, and I am." She said curtly. "Return Bor's axe, no one should be without a weapon here." She tugged back the rest of her hood and shook out her mane of hair. Her ears were clearly seen but her head held high. "The path I walk is one of danger and death, there is no saving someone from it." She looked at the wolf. He was not the same person she had walked with in the city. Something moved inside and around him, drawing her eye for magic yet she could never quite catch it.

"That shadow you speak of is a God and his children. The first battle was brought down on this world by Parishio, and we humans slaughtered his pets with the weapons we forged when we denied their love and magic. The stories my people left behind were filled with nothing but darkness and blood." She growled the words she spoke, her temper rising steadily. When she had traveled into towns and city she heard nothing but how humans had tried to destroy the God, their beloved masters had spared them when they shouldn't have. It was the Gods who had failed them first. The humans had created the weapons that had saved these lands. But time had long forgotten that.

"If the dark Brother is back it is no concern of mine. My kind are far and few and what there is of us is sought after and killed. You cowards hunt us down like dogs when we protected your ancestors. We once fought alongside each other. Now I walk in despair as my kin lies sleeping or dead." She spat, her fingers in a white knuckle grip around her bow. "I walk alone kin of Moon-Claw. What that demon does is no longer my problem. There is no one left to Slay with me."

She grabbed the horses reins and tugged him forward, walking on. The other shifter still had the boy.
