The God Slayers

The God Slayers

0 INK

The human race has vanished, the Four Great Gods have disappeared, and now the Fallen have risen again to finish what they started 1000 years ago. (No longer accepting RPers.)

2,914 readers have visited The God Slayers since Roxxy created it.

Introduction

Hundreds of years ago the human race ruled the lands of Anidon. There were four Great Houses; The House of Triat (the Chosen), The House of Saviesa (of Wisdom), The House of Forca (of Strength) and The House of Escut (the Shield). They ruled their lands and people well, and had been given great respect from all other races. But one day, the Fallen God, Parishio sent a hoard of monsters to attack and kill all of the mortal realm for he had felt they were guilty of crimes against him and his kin. Seeing this, his siblings went down to the four corners of the world and spoke the the mortals.
"They spoke as one; 'We are the Four Great Gods, we who claim Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. Our brother has watched your world and deemed you guilty of crimes against us, thus punishing you to death. We who are Four have seen the error in his ways, we see that you are not perfect, nor free of fault, but are forgiven in these things with the love you hold for life and each other. Your cries and fears have been heard. These beasts can not be killed with merLe mortal weapons, but there is hope.' They spread their arms, the elements they possessed swirling around them with terrifying brilliance. 'Embrace us, promise us your loyalty and love, and we shall grant you our Gifts. With these powers you shall persevere and flourish.'"
All but the human race bowed down before them, accepting their gifts of magic, and together, were able to defeat the Fallen Gods monsters.
The humans, however, angered, rallied against their saviors, killing off Demi-Gods one by one. Soon they were known as God-Slayers, and feared by all.
Unwilling to eliminate them like their brother had tried to, the four other Gods locked the humans away deep underground, wrapped in cacoons of magic so that they might sleep until a prophecy could be fulfilled.
Now, three hundred years later, the Four Great Gods have disappeared and the magic surrounding the humans is beginning to weaken. Some have begun to awaken, and the world is not as they left it...

Calais and his two new friends (could he call them friends? He thought so...) traveled briskly through the forest, surveying the damage as they went. He was nervous, of course - they were going after a child that a mad creature seemed very protective of. As they walked, he watched Hymnis use her magic to restore the forest's beauty. It was soothing somehow. The sight of the newly budding flowers put him at ease.

His eyes caught sight of something in the distance. It looked like a large tree trunk but...he knew it wasn't. The figure began moving toward him and the others. It passed through the trees and into the clearing where -

"Aaahhhh!" Calais cried out when he saw it. It was a beast taller than any man he'd ever seen and dark. It's fur was black, thick and matted. It snarled at them with fangs the length of fingers. To make matters even more bleak, the creature was brandishing a large battleaxe. The being spoke. How did it know the girl? As Hymnis disarmed it, the girl demanded the axe be returned. Why...? And then she removed her hood.

"Aaahhhh!" Again, he yelled, "You...you're human?!" That was impossible! Humans didn't exist anymore. Calais stared at the girl's ears. They were rounded at the tops. Unbelievable. It was almost like all those legends and fairy tales he'd been told had suddenly come to life. She began to tell of the battle between the humans and the Gods. Calais understood little of what she said, but now wasn't the best time for questions he figured.

The human began walking with the horse again. Stunned for a moment, Calais looked between her and the beast and back to her. Running to catch up with her, Calais bit his tongue. His seemingly endless barrage of questions could wait. Right now he needed time to sort through all that had just happened. Looking back at the creature he asked softly, "Are you...friends with her? Are you coming with us?" If his intuition was correct and the creature wasn't out to kill them all, then Calais sure as hell wanted it to be there when they went after that white monster...

The Other looked down at Calais for a moment after his question had been asked, but said nothing. He walked towards Roslyn. "To be alone, human, is to go looking for trouble." He retrieved his axe. "I would prefer company looking for trouble more than anything else. Surely you would have allowed Bor to walk with you. But you didn't know him fully until tonight. Yet I am not Bor."

He watched Roslyn's face closely. As a trait that both earned respect and rooted enmity, his ability to speak his mind changed relationships. Yet he never backed away from a chance to do so. "Why hide your true self? Only fools and cowards do so, are you either? Would you live a life full of avoidance and uncertain days, unable to do what you wish, unable to actually live? You say your people fought once, I do not doubt that, but you would dishonor such a glorious past by not repeating it? By Thanos, your people fought against gods, human, if you did it once you can do it again. Earn your freedom, your right to live amongst the rest of us!"

Cyazair was having a pretty good snooze, yet as always something had to start talking and yelling and being angry all around him. It was annoying, but he probably couldn't do anything about it. He tried to block out the loud speaking by something by using a soothing inner song that he had learned, just like when he would practice his sword fighting. It was beginning to work, but then the werewolf and everybody else were gasping and saying something about Roslyn being human.

That made him swing upwards and fall off the horse.

"Ow..." So much for being his normally graceful self. He was always really rusty when it came to waking up drained of energy. Like when his best friend Krasik... well, best not dwell on that. Cyazair got shivers remembering the fall. It was 30 feet to the ground. And that hurt.

"What in the name of Odin is all the noise about? Can't you guys give some quiet to those trying to regain their life back?" He sighed, and stood up, a little shaky still. "And what's this about Roslyn being a human?" He smirked slightly, probably guessing that most of them found out already. It didn't help that she had her hood down. He did a face palm, and sighed exasperated.

Her back straightened at the Others words and her eyes blazed with fury. "Walking alone means not worrying if someone will stab you in the back. I trust no one because I have seen what this world has become. My kind, you inbred mutt, have been hunted for what they are like those your derived from. We are no better then cattle to them, and that damned city Bor and Cyazair got me out of seemed to be rooted the deepest in that trait." She was shaking with a mixture of fatigue and temper. She was tired of fighting with words and weapons, tired of surviving instead of thriving. She missed her family, their people, everything they had been, and this thing understood nothing of that.

She spun as Cyazair fell from the horse, the beast jerked its head high in complaint but she paid neither any mind. "For one to walk with me is to risk their own life, whether it be you or Bor or any other. One does not make the difference when it is kingdoms and Gods they're fighting against. We are missing the three other Weapons of Forca and the numbers it would take to put a dent in the tales you've made us out to be. I am no monster, nor am I myth... I would love to live my life freely, I just haven't been given the option to yet."

Calais listened to everyone, stunned at what had just transpired. He was saved by a human! The girl spoke of the humans who fought the Gods in a great war many years ago. She was one of them? But that would make her so old! Calais didn't believe anyone could live that long.

"For one to walk with me is to risk their own life..." That is what she said. It was at that moment Calais realized, once again, that everything happens for a reason. There is no such thing as coincidence. Fate brought him to her...or her to him - it didn't really matter much now. Slowly but surely, a plan began to set out in his head. A ridiculous plan of grandiose proportion, but now that he had this human girl things seemed to make more sense.

The boy said nothing. He knew he needed to feel out the situation more. Suddenly unafraid, Calais merely looked on and listened to what the others had to say. There would be time enough for him later.

"Pfft!" The Other snorted. "Words of the weak. People are not given options, they never are. We make opportunities. We take what we can because no one offers anything unless there remain to be nefarious motives behind the act, or are truly altruistic, the latter of which I doubt. And one does make all the difference, it takes but one to stand up against any oppression, just one, all other need only be witnesses to it. If you speak your mind then you have said what everyone else has been thinking." The Other looked around at Roslyn's companion's. He took his time scanning them all, wondering what to make of the group.

"I have already said I wish for trouble, risking my own life no longer bears any weight, for I have done it so often." The Other grinned but to the rest of the group it looked like he was barring his fangs.

Iaro stepped out from the cart his men put the supplies in backpacks Iaro did the same every one of them had leather armor light and warm but Iaro still had his almost indestructible but light as a feather supposedly bronze armor that was very strange for many as going to the wailing halls was hard enough but with a heavy and cold armor it would be impossible but Iaro wore his own though leather layer under his light armor. If Iaro would take of his armor then the effect's of it would begin to weaken not quickly but he didn't want to regain weakness only loose it. A group of one dwarf and a elf bowed for the incoming group they knew who was in front of them, "My best lord Iaro why are you here at this desolated outpost?" Iaro looked at the elf that had spoken a deep elf dwarf society and deep elf society were close making it possible that a elf was the commander of a outpost Iaro didn't care a person was a person and a person was animal and a animal was just meat. "I have come to ask Lin's assistance on my quest at the hall that wail when the wind comes trough I request to use the third red line here to get there." The elf seemed confused as he began to fall over his own words "But Sir! that's suicide!" Iaro shot back without really paying a thought to the comment this was easy for him "I may not know as much as you do of this outpost but I do know the second rule of dwarf honer. What's considered suicide is named that by the unworthy. So I will pass on after I first have made my remaining preparation's." Iaro walked past the elf that nervously let him pass into the old and pretty rotten base that had eight rooms being more than was needed but there was a rich storage and a good collection of boat's was present a sea was between him and the wailing halls he would need it latter.

"Prepare that ship I want to sail out tomorrow." The elven commander had followed him "Excuse me sir but old Bella isn't fit for that trip, I can't let you leave if you break a ship." Iaro looked a second behind the elf to confirm they were alone the man had left to gather the needed things to pull the small ship to the rails were it would be transported to the side of the small island. He began his mind game "But good captain think of the honor and pride you and I could have I could if you go with me then I would be happy to put on a good word to let you leave this rat hole wouldn't you like that?" The elf said even more confused "I'm Xerimor sir and I would love to leave but it's against protocol to let a high." Iaro cut him of "Protocol also tells you to stay here forever you know that right?" Now the elf finally gave in the cold was also in the base it wasn't nice to live in what Iaro with right called a rat hole so he just gave in "As you wish sir I will help you." Iaro smiled warmly "Good then I promote you to second in command of this mission no go and command the men to put this wreck where it belongs." The left turned and ran away to the man not wishing to let this opportunity go Iaro found him to be the perfect pawn he would need such men as he didn't suspect to come back in his home with anybody else than himself.

Hymnis, though hesitant, gave the werewolf his axe, dropping it in front of his feet. She couldn't believe this girl was a human! They were non-existent. Extinct! Myth! The Fairytale her mother once told her before she left! She blinked a few moments, not exactly knowing how to deal with the shock. So Hymnis started to listen to the tale of the humans from their own eyes, waiting for the boy to stop screaming like a girl.

She could sense the temper in her voice with every word spoken. Her mind drifted off, wondering to herself how old she really was. She stayed silent through most of it with occasional mutters along the way, she listened to everyone speak but a question rose by the werewolf, whom she presumed was called Bor. "Why hide your true self?"

"Some would rather live a life of avoidance rather than getting being pelted with eggs every other day,"

Suddenly, Cyazair fell off but she didn't seem to care, her face still stuck in it's usual smirk. He kept asking questions so Hymnis leaned down saying,"You knew this all along," She didn't know what to say, listening to the conversation of a werewolf and a human was definitely better.

Cyazair smiled. It was odd, for even though it looked like a smile of one that had just got caught, mischievousness clouded his eyes and face. "But of course. It was quite simple really, anybody could figure it out. She was no elf nor dwarf, and Shape shifters are usually quite unruly yet have a sense of pride in their bodies. She cloaked her head like she was hiding something. Put the pieces together and 'wham' you get a human. Though..." He paused, pensively thinking about his childhood and growing up. "It doesn't hurt that i was born around the time that the myth among us Feral elves was not as much a myth. Saphlis would talk about them during night time stories." He smiled, happily remembering the old elf.

"In all honesty, I didn't find a reason why I should tell anyone. Humans were supposed to be myths, and Some people would like to keep it that way. If that offends somebody, its not my problem."

Juta unsure what to do his options now weighing heavily on his mind sat down stabbing the knife into the ground. "Juta no like dis!" He yelled angrily. Urthwhyte could not help but laugh. "Child," He said in between chuckles. "Come back and we will discus with our new friend." Juta standing up walked back to Urthwhyte swinging the knife looking daggerlike in his hands. Handing the knife to Urthwhyte he sat next to him. Cocking his head to the side Urthwhyte waved The Intruder over to them. "I sincetrely hope you saved up some food as well, the child isn't good without food." He said twirling the knife ready to throw it if needed.

Sita rolled her eyes as, she picked her shoulder up from the tree and sauntered towards the ignorant child and arrogant white shifter. She reached into her satchel and produced a box of lunch. "Fortunate for him. I'm strictly carnivore. I need my food to bleed when I...bite into it." She flung the box on the ground where they sat and stood a few feet away from them. She hadn't forgotten the white shifter's prior deeds. In her mind, he was labled an enemy. "So, what is it with you and this human? Why have you not killed him yet?"

There is a place deep beneath the earth, far from the reaches of the sun and moon. Its beauty is locked away from all mortals; a haven for a sleeping Queen. It is the size of a small kingdom, and though it is surrounded by rock walls in every direction it is neither stifling nor dark.

There are hills coated in rich, green grass. Flowers of every species bloom, their veins glow, giving off a light of life to brighten the land. Trees and bushes are freckled through out the cavern. They are plants that, if above ground, would never again grow in the same place. There are rare stones imbedded in the rock walls, and the ceiling is so high that the mortal eye can not see it.

Deeper in, in the caves furthest wall a waterfall plays. It cascades down from nothingness, forming a steady river that circles an island and continues through the cavern. The water is alive with the same life that allows the flowers to glow and grow in the deepest depths of this place. The island it circles is the size of a castle. The water is deep and wide, in its depths hides a creature of immense size and aggression. A protector, a pet.

The island is hidden by a wall of trees and brush. Thorns and snares add an extra layer of protection for she who lies inside. But it is evident there is something far more precious then jewels behind these stand-still guards.

In the center of this tree castle is a clearing, in its center is the grandfather of all trees. It is said that this was the first of it's kind, a great Weeping Willow who reaches far past its brothers on the island and deep into the darkness. It's roots have risen above ground, tangling together to encase the woman inside.

She is the mother of all this land. She floats above the grass in sleep, children of Odin guarding her at the four points of the world. Her hair is a rich chestnut red, it flows around her in a peaceful wind, given to her by her sister. Her eyes, though closed, are the color of newly budded leaves, her lips the color of roses. She is dressed in the finest clothes mortal eyes shall ever see, deep greens and blues. Her skin is a tanned olive-brown.

The Goddess Lin should have remained sleeping for two years longer... But something has breached her sanctuary... And darkness begins to encroach on her lands.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(One week ago)

Nora startled awake. The dream had been so vivid, so real, that she could hardly breath. The Goddess Fiona's message was clear. Lin was in grave danger.

"Nora...?" Nathan's voice was soft, concerned as he watched his sister from across the fire.

"We need to go." She said, already beginning to rise.

"It's nothing that can't wait till morning." He argued. They had traveled long and hard to make it within four days of the dwarven city. He wanted to rest, his sister could not keep the same pace as he could and she tired easily.

She gave him a piercing look, though it did not meet his eyes square her intents were clear. "Nathan, you can either come with me or I can go alone."

He heaved a heavy sigh and began to pack.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Present day)

"You might want trouble but that doesn't mean I'm going to drag you into it!" Roslyn snapped. "Until I have more then 'darkness' over the land, until I have someone I know I need to protect, someone I need to Hunt," She bit back the word, "You can shove your darkness and damnation elsewhere."

"You must protect the Goddess Lin." the soft voice said.

Roslyn jumped, the horses head rising and falling rapidly in irritation. In her anger she had not heard the two new comers approach. She eyed the two, "And who are you?" She growled. The woman who had spoken was small and delicate looking, her face covered almost completely by the hood of her cloak. A man stood before her, blocking most of the woman behind his tall build and wide shoulders. He too was hidden by the hood of a cloak, making it impossible to tell just what they were dealing with now.

The small woman spoke once more, "I am Nora Silver-Coat, of the Moonsha clan. My people are from the far north-west. We reside in Escuiyt, it was once part of one of the Great Kingdoms of your own people." She explained, "My brother, Nathan Silver-Coat." She said, nodding towards the man in front of her. He only nodded his head once in greeting, but he never moved from his protective position in front of her.

Iaro closed his hands around a rock he was alone the ship broke on the sharp stones around the island were the wailing halls were placed, they had all died Iaro was the only survivor but his mind didn't bother as his hands closed around the stones finally reaching the top his body had a strange reaction to the cold he was warm to be precise the strange thing was that his armor made him warm not the leather beneath it. His tired arm's raised themselves onto the stones as he stood in front of his goal, how he had survived? Simple he had used them as tools tiring them to the point of near dead wile he didn't need to sleep at all he was tireless they weren't. His hand's closed around the door as he opened it so give him view on the huge hall it was slightly overwhelming as the small building wasn't a fraction of the size the inside was magic obviously, the wailing was present as the wind made it's eternal way trough the hall it sounded like a protest to the presence of a being darker than a normal dwarf could be.

Iaro walked to the center pulling every detail into his mind but it was simple, it was all a gibberish the center was the real mystery as one hole was put in the ground. Iaro pulled the knife out of his holder stabbing the hole fully with great force. Nothing happened at first but then the hall's small wail's turned in a high pitched scream that was a pain to the ears but the round stairs opened as the ground split in front of him. The first step send a small pain in Iaro's feet, the second ended up in a little more. After a long time of a fast descend and the floor closing again wile Iaro had retrieved the dagger he didn't want other people following him of course.

His feet began to run down from the stairs as pain came over him as boiling hot water but he ignored the pain going on until it was completely dark but his mind knew the way. After ages of pain and suffering to the point were the will of Iaro began to reach it's limit's as the prolonged effect of his armor failed to protect him from the fear as he began to walk slower. Even he couldn't take it after without a problem but it stopped as soon as he reached the ground. The ground was lush green in a almost perfect way but he walked over it without much emotion he looked around for a second he had a heavy backpack on now it would be good. He opened it picking up a crossbow as he in complete silence began his walk armed with his crossbow having the backpack still on his back.

A shadow walker was the first barrier she was alert and clear of mind but a arrow was faster than she was as she fell bleeding on the ground before two knifes flickered trough the air killing her before she could emit a scream. Iaro repeated this process five times the guards were everywhere but each was finished quickly and without a sound but his progress was not quick he needed to kill them all first.

Cyazair stood up and bowed to them. He thought he had heard faintly through old stories about these people, but nothing really came to mind. Yet, they looked like they were of some importance, they way they dressed and carried themselves and all. The male... he couldn't tell if they were human or not... seemed to intrigue Cyazair the most, as he did not seem to talk, nor did he look any person in the eye. In an odd way, he reminded Cyazair of a Feral elf, just like himself: They kept their kept their secrets close, and their weapons closer. Cyazair was a bit of an exception, liking to talk to people and was extremely curious about everything. He had yet to tune in that elves lived extremely long lives, and would be able to learn everything as he aged.

When the lady spoke, Cyazair nearly spoke as well, but he paused. She seemed to take no interest in anybody but Roslyn, which made the situation even more mysterious.

Distracted by the scent of a proper meal Urthwhyte snatched the bag before it hit the ground. Handing the box to Juta he sniffed at the Intruder. "So, what is it with you and this human? Why have you not killed him yet?" Urthwhyte scoffed at the question. "I find that this child reminds me of myself as a youth," he began, "Besides haven't you ever wanted to explore another species culture? Perhaps integrate their culture into yours." He asked yawning. Licking his lips hungrily he eyed the Intruder with suspicion. "Isn't ti your goal to protect these humans? If so why haven't you tied to take this one from me?" He asked his voice growing cold.

The Other grunted at Roslyn's remark. He didn't say anything further but he thought many things. You fool! Why wait for more than darkness? Is it not enough that people are already dying? Do you want more turmoil? Destruction? Heartbreak? It is no longer a mystery why I find you repulsive, you're weak, sick in the head. To live is to fight, especially as a human today, yet it seems your skull is too dense to have understood that.
Then something else spoke. A deeper voice, calmer though just as assertive. You find her weak now yet you know of her strength.
Quiet Bor!
Giver her time, she may not agree with your methods now, yet that doesn't mean you will not see eye to eye in the future.
Silence! I will not waste my time speaking with you!
Yet you are. Stay with her, people are approaching.

The Other sniffed the air in the direction of the new arrivals, they were shifters too, though not his kind. He recalled the decimation of a wolf delegation to one of their tribes decades ago, it led to warfare on a small scale, contained between a few tribes, nothing more. He did not take part yet he heard stories of how the were-cats had fought. The Other didn't think much of them, preferring to believe what he saw rather than old stories. What the little one had to say intrigued him.
"It must be important, girl." The Other said to Nora, "There is not much that can threaten a god."
For a moment The Other looked out of the corner of his eye to Roslyn, he hoped she understood that this might be similar to what he was talking about.

Normally quiet and reserved Nora stepped around her brother, for once 'looking' at someone other than Roslyn. "But this can." She said simply. "Like her bow it was crafted long ago by more then just one of the Houses. In the right hands it can be a tool with great possibilities and promise. But that isn't the case. Someone has found it and plans on killing Lin with it. And they are already too close..."

Nathan's jaw twitched. He had full faith in his sister, but he did not trust in these people to do the same. Outsiders did not understand her gift. He also began to eye Bor carefully. Long ago the two races had warred, if this creature held a grudge he'd be a nasty appointed that he didn't much care to try his luck on. The axe did not help his feelings. "Step back Nora..." he said quietly.

Roslyn clenched her teeth together as she thought. Her people had hunted Gods, they had killed hundreds of Demi-Gods. She herself have never slain one, but her great grandfather had. Blood ran on her name. But a story her grandmother had told her when she was very young still played in her head.

People thought the human race was filled with nothing but monsters. Their pasts had been labeled evil and malicious when not all had been that way. If she saved the Goddess Lin... Perhaps humans would begin to awaken more rapidly, and they could once more live freely.

"You would be a hero..." Nora said quietly, her head shifted as if she was looking from one to the other, passing across all those in the group. "All of you would become hero's... Legends... Your clans would be placed in honor. They will sing songs of you. Your lands would be considered sacred, holy ground that would never be disturbed again." Her voice took on a hint of pleading. "It is but one man you face... A child of sin, a Son of Parishio... One war and you could be free..."

A simple "No." Was Sita's response to her interest in other cultures. "I've been outside of the caves of my origin for quite some time now and in all that time, I've traveled from city to city, town to town, forest to forest. My conclusion from each experience is that all of you surface dwellers are loud and annoying. The scents that you all carry turn increasingly bitter once they mingle together. The air is too warm and there is always too much light. Any interest I had in other cultures at the beginning of my journey have been quelled." She looked away off into the forest where she picked up a congregation of voices. Still looking away, she continued to ask the white shifter's questions. "My people were ordered to watch over the helpless humans while they slept, simply because they could not defend themselves. Now, that they're awake...you could say they're on their own now. Which is why I won't even attempt to take that child from you. The only reason I attacked you before is because that particular human was asked of me to protect."

Sita unsheathed her sword. It was clean. Never before used. And it gleamed the the soft glow of an enchanted blade. The hilt was modestly extravagant with elven words engraved on the bottom of the blade. She approached Juta and the white shifter and stabbed the short sword into the ground between them then turned to walk away. "An elf named Jarius Doltek crafted that weapon. I don't need swords to fight. It's short and light enough for a child to hold. Perhaps Juta could find some use for it." She continued to walk, disappearing behind the wall of trees. SHe headed towards the congregation of voices. As she got closer she picked up several different scents which immediately clashed. She growled and covered her nose with her hand and proceeded forward.

"It is but one man you face... A child of sin, a Son of Parishio... One war and you could be free..." She heard a woman speaking and sighed.

What more challenges will I have to face for this human? Sita complained to herself, but she thought of Juta and his murdered parents. "Choose wisely..." Sita spoke as she entered the circle. "The future of your race could very well hang in the balance."

A trio of Shadow workers became alert to the sound of heavy flesh hitting stone. They congregated and broke into formation. There were intruders. Obviously hostile. Though their race was feral they wouldn't attack just to kill. They killed because it was necessary. The biggest one issued an order to the smallest one. His voice hard like gravel. "Tell Durga and the others that we have intruders. They've already spilled Shadow Walker blood. Go! Now!" he roared. The little one sprinted off on all fours and rose into the air to fly off through a passage in the ceiling. The bigger one then turned to the one that remained. "Lak, we cannot allow them to progress any further. You know what to do."

"Yes, Ganesh." Lak responded flying off through the same passage as the little one. He entered a empty stone wall room where levers lined both walls. Walking on two legs Lak began pulling each lever. The gates of every passage further on began to close and lock automatically. He then hopped over to a special lever at the end of the wall and twisted it in a circular motion then departed.

In the room where Ganesh stood they Gate behind him dropped and locked. The large center floor of the room disappeared, revealing a large seemingly endless pit. Jagged bone gray spikes sprung from the walls and Lak dropped from the ceiling just as the ceiling passage was about to close. The entire room descended into a deep darkness void of any light save for the faint light from the open doorway where the intruders would enter.

The Shadow Walkers were fast, but they would use the darkness to their advantage to use their special abilities if necessary. These invaders had killed their own kind. Members of their clan. Ganesh would tear through their chest and feed them their very own hearts. They would pay dearly.

Just as they'd flown and hidden themselves in corners of the room a silhouette appeared in the doorway.

A bearded man.

A dwarf.

Cyazair kept quiet. He normally would have piped up by now, made some witty comment or something, but he didn't. Instead, he was contemplating what this lady was offering. He knew she really wasn't aiming her request at him, but she did say 'all of you'. The thing was, he had a pretty good life as it was, nobody was really trying to kill him at the moment and he really wanted to live to be 250. Going on this quest of theirs might shorten that lifespan indefinably. Besides, this quest sounded like the things they would be facing wouldn't be just mere mortals. The son of Parishio must be some demi god of Eminence power, with his father being the god of Damnation and all.

But it was quite intruiging, travelling and actually using the skills he possessed for something other than just personal enjoyment. And, if he surived, he would have such a great tale to tell everybody. Even if he died, he could go down as some sort of hero, unless they all failed in which case Cyazair would probably not be remembered.

Hymnis turned to see two strangers approaching and in the group. A girl and a boy, the former with a very soft aura around her, making her presence feel sweet and grounded and the latter....he was big, intimidating and if Hymnis was thinking right, she would step away from a man who wore unnecessary metal. Nora and Nathan Silver-Coat. She nodded her head as a small gesture. She noticed how awkward it was since she was the only one on the horse as she bit into her apple. But the horse was too big for her to get off without falling.

She watched what appeared to be an appending fight scene about to happen with all the things about humans and killings. Nora seemed to only care for Roslyn and Nathan only cared for Nora. She was bribing them all with fame and all that stuff people usually bribe others with. To be quite honest, Hymnis never exactly concept that concept. It was directed more to Roslyn anyway.

"How can we believe you?" Hymnis asked.

Honor...is all I desire. The Other thought as he looked towards Hymnis, who posed a question he should have voiced as well. What Nora was saying wasn't exactly a small deal. The Son of one of the Great Four has come to destroy Lin. News like this used to be heard in fairy tales, or read in great tomes that were a historical account of battles so ancient that they passed out of anyone's memory. Therefore, to ask if she was lying would be the right course of action, despite the fact that she'd say no even if she was.

"The Elf is right, girl." The Other stated, neither angrily nor suspiciously. He tilted his head slightly sideways. "A claim such as the one you made has heavy weight to it...Though, I am inclined to not dismiss what it is you have to say, for I too have seen things, albeit unwillingly. Darkness and death. If your words and my past vision are linked then you have certainly caught my attention."

Iaro walked inside of the huge chamber his made a strange hollow sound but the click was unmistakable that of a crossbow the bolt buried itself into the right eye of the first and smallest shadow walker going until it reached the brain Iaro wasn't a skilled magic user but feet toughing the ground was enough and voices were even better. Iaro dropped the crossbow pulling his sword with a cold efficient move. His voice was cold and monotone as usual spoke now with the slight tough of the man that put's you into your grave "I feel you and I heard you Ganesh. I fear your blessed job has reached it's end." Iaro charged the large shadow walker that towered above him but he didn't attack instead he jumped using the surprise factor that his speed gave him to land behind the shadow walker, his arm free of his sword ended up around the shadow walker's neck pulling the larger beast on the ground with the force of his jump before without any change of expression he broke the neck. Iaro didn't really break bone as that took to much strength instead he used the bone to destroy the nerves cutting of breathing and voice it took a short time to die afterwards but he cut the throat just to be sure.

Iaro walked over to the gates he put his right hand on the wall wile his left put his sword back in place and closed the backpack but leaving the hilt of the crossbow outside so he could pull it when ever needed. Iaro walked sidewards with a mere three steps before he came to the conclusion these gates were a master piece, dwarfs could make better gates but not in the amount that was present the main gate of the dwarf capital was roughly double the zine of this gate but there were many. He pulled a small package out of his back pack he had planned for this option. A small device the size of Iaro's thumb lit the fuse and Iaro calculated lightning quick if he was safe but he was int erupted as the package let out a high pitched scream that would make a shadow walker ears bleed but Iaro couldn't even hear it as it was too high for him to hear but the effect was something right out of a nightmare as a enormous blast shocked the land.

there wasn't any smoke but Iaro could only feel the gust of wind as the gate gave in to the raw power. Iaro had used something close to the power of TNT but the package had been nothing but a small piece of extremely explosive gas hidden under a glass covering and some cloth to hide it Iaro had more of these highly dangerous bomb's and he would need it as he picked up his pace again checking his surroundings for any other walker's. He had the same small device that had lit the fuse in his hands but now it gave of a light not being enough to cover the huge halls.

'No, no, no, no, no, no! This was all wrong!'

Calais felt insignificant surrounded by the group he'd fallen in with. It was like something out of a legend - a fairy tale. He said nothing and shifted his weight from foot to foot uncomfortably. This wasn't right. Just when he'd had a glimmer of hope, these people show up and begin spouting tales of fame and fortune. They wanted Roslyn to save the Gods, not destroy them. But Calais knew - the Gods weren't worth saving. The weren't worth anything! He wanted them gone. Maybe not eliminated but...

He couldn't exactly say what was on his mind right now. And certainly not in front of present company. Instead, the boy merely stood behind Roslyn, listening to the newcomers speak. He supposed he could plead his case to Roslyn another time, when he got a better feel for everyone and how they would react.

Nora lowered her gaze and bit back a sigh. "There is no way to convince you. What I see I can not show. I did not bring this to you to bribe or trick. You are simply the only ones that can save the Gods..." Her voice grew stronger again, her head rising. "All of you are on a path that leads to death or life. This is not merely Roslyn's decision, you each much choose which path you walk."

"Spoken like a true woman with Sigh."

Roslyn was growing tired of people sneaking up on them without a sound. "Oh, now who the hell-" And promptly swallowed her tongue.

The form was not completely present. It was a woman's body thats loose clothing shifted with a wind that had suddenly picked up. Her face was barely visible, almost see through. But the gold and silver mask was perfect. It caught every possible form of light as it shifted from shape to shape on the Goddesses face.

Arriana smiled, "Formalities aside, children. I offer you something more then what the Keeper says is possible." She looked at each and every one of them, her dazzling grey-blue eyes catching each and every one of theres for no less then fifteen seconds. "My sister lies deep under ground, until that barrier is broken there is nothing my brother and I can do to save her." They were forbidden from entering each others safe havens until the bitter end. "But, if you serve our purpose and protect her, and stop Parishio, we will give you what you seek."

She stared at Hymnis, "A forest, far from the deathly clutches of mortal kind, where you may live in peace. Without fear of fire or flood, with animals of all kinds, until you see fit to seek companionship." She looked at Calais, "I can not give you your mother back, she is long from this world, but know that Odin keeps her safe and at peace... For you I offer a life of safety and comfort. No money or expense is too great, you may have your own home, your own city for all I care. With people to wait on you hand and foot. Clothes of the finest make, food of the finest chefs, and a personal guard, trained by Thanos himself until your natural life ends."

She turned to Bor, "And you... Other who see's without seeing. Don't think I spared you with that vision." She said curtly. "You reside in a being who is complete in himself. For you I offer honor and a being of your own. You may join us in our lands, but you will leave the Shifter alone. And the one inside, for I know you hear me, you may forget." She looked at Cyzair, "For the roamer, the long life that comes with your kind, but the ease of travel from a creature of my own making." Before her the air shifted, the currents making the form of a winged animal, what kind was completely unknown.

"For the human it is far more simple. My siblings and I will release the spell cast on the rest of your kind. I will not allow you back to power so easily. But you may have friends and family once more." She turned to Nathan and Nora, "And you two are now part of this, not merely the messengers... One gift of vision is all I offer."

Nathan's mouth opened to question, but in the second it took for that action alone, Arriana was gone.
