A drone, about a head in size and general shape, sank lazily through the trees right in front of Jack. The air was pulsating with the sound now, and Jack knew he'd probably die if his arms moved at all. Instead of working a weapon, he jumped off his tree and landed on the drone, then kicked his heel into the speakers or whatever was making the terrible noise. Thankfully, the entire drone fell into the foliage just as Jack hopped off. He took a moment to breathe, then pulled off the bandana that'd previously occupied his face. Jack hadn't been caught yet, and he intended to keep it that way.
Now free of drones, Jack made a fast way north, then back into District Twelve. Of course, no one saw him. Still, Jack was careful to move quickly, but miscalculated and almost barreled into Rue. He caught himself and the small girl before they fell and nodded in appology, "Sorry."

Finally, she arrived just in time. She was herded in with the others, waiting, waiting. Her name was called and it all went by so fast, so fast, that she shuffled to the front amongst cheers and her parents smiled through their tears, hoping, no, believing she would win. Iris didn't want this, no, no it was bad, very bad, she could die or kill people and it wasn't good, it was very bad.
She didn't have time to herself for a while until the train, and her thoughts sorted themselves out to a realistic jabber. This was her job now. Iris had to return.

It was now time for the drawing. She sighed looking around. The girls name was drawn.....the name that the woman on stage said was "Rue..." everyone drew silent. The small child walked away from Jack and through the crowd. She was scared. She was strong but Rue never knew she'd get called. The new tribute walked up the stairs and to the stage. zher face emotionless. The looked to see Jack in the crowd.

His voice was calm and without remorse. At that moment, any ties he had with Rue cut themselves for the sake of survival. The thought that he could give up after he dealt with the others did not cross his mind. Good as she was, Rue probably wouldn't survive that long. Jack was better off going Ghost as soon as he went in, vanishing into whatever there was to vanish into before the real fighting started. He wouldn't touch the Cornecopia except for to get a knife. From there was free roam, just how Jack liked it.
He cracked a half smile at his thoughts. He wasn't even confirmed yet and he was already planning how to kill everyone.

Rue knew she wouldn't have to go to the cornucopia because she was good with hand to hand combat. And she'd find the pack and get to it. Then she'd hunt. And kill. She would get medical herbs. She now needed to talk to Jack. She had an idea to make sure either of them win. If she didn't win she sure wanted him to win. She sighed and looked around. Then soon enough they were being dragged through doors. They were seated at a table filled with food. She looked around the table.
The food looked brilliant. Good, rich, greasy. Enough to make a district twelve person sick.

Harper ran through the house and into the shower, jumped in without leaving any time at all for it to warm up, and rinsed her hair as fast as she could possibly manage. She pulled her brush through her knotted hair quickly, wishing she had kept the electronic hair brush she had invented weeks before. She grabbed the hair ribbon she had made out of vines in an intricate braided pattern and placed it precisely down on her tresses. She picked up the shirt she had been wearing in the morning, threw it on, and ran to finish her dress.
After 15 minutes of work she finally twisted a handful of materials together quickly and skillfully into a strap and attached it to the dress. Harper pulled it over her head while praying that she had made the dress the correct size. The second the dress slid onto her body she ran out the door and toward the reaping, fearing what might happen if she was late.

His eyes had been on the ground during the reaping, but he lifted his head and gave the announcer his best "I will kill you" stare. The announcer flinched, and looked away as Flex made his way to the stage and finally to the train. Now, as he stared out the window of his compartment, he let his mind soar.
He was a tribute. He was going to be in the Games. He was going to kill people and maybe die himself. He might even have to kill a girl from his own tribute. Whatsername.
Alright. Whatever.
He didn't care. Flex didn't care what happened next. No one was waiting back at home. He was already ready to commit suicide himself so there was really no problem.
He just hated the fact that he was heading to the worst place on Earth, the Capitol. He just hated the fact that he was going to be a tool of the stupid President.
Well... he thought to himself, feeling a smile play across his lips. Maybe I can fix that.

Iris ignored Flex as much as she could. He needed a jolt that the world wasn't so bad.

So she was actually happy to be in the Games? He sighed. More and more people were getting brainwashed these days.
He walked over and sat next to her, grabbing an apple from one of the various bowls they had. He took one bite from it, then felt sick to the stomach. With a scream, he chucked it across the table, smashing glass cups and napkin holders.
"This is stupid!" he yelled, turning from one person to the other. His eyes bored into each and every one of them. "This is all so stupid! The Hunger Games is stupid! The Capitol, the President and all of the stupid people living there are freaking stupid!"
Then he spun around and headed for his room. He gladly slammed the door behind him, and leaned against the wall, breathing hard.
"Once I get to the Capitol..." he muttered. "They're gonna be sorry they ever created this stupid sport..."

It was slightly humorous that such a little thing could change her mood. Furious, Iris stomped down the hallway looking for someone to get her a punching bag or be it. The thirteen-year-old needed it. And needed it now. Finding someone, she ordered them to bring one to her room promptly.

---
All the way in the Capitol, Zax Black was pacing back and forth ontop of a balcony above the City Circle, anxious to meet the president. He had scheduled to see him exactly 30 minutes ago, yet the young president was not there.
In his hands he held a large, rolled-up map. It was top secret stuff, only he and the Gamemakers knew about it. And soon, the President would know too.
Then, in the shadows, a voice called: "Good evening, my dear Zax Black."
Black flinched. He turned around, and there he saw them, the snake-like eyes of Present Snow II.
It was incredibly terrifying. But something to admire at the same time...
The President himself could of been around 20 years old. Maybe. Surgery could do miracles these days...He had snowy white hair and the same pale, stretched lips as his father, the former President. But people called the current president President Snow as well. Right now, he was wearing a black tuxedo, the same color top hat, and white gloves. It was rather hard to see his face, to see his youth, in the dark they were in.
There was silence. Then---
"Sorry for the delay, Zax Black," President Snow continued, walking towards the older man. "I had a little chat with the train stations. The tributes will arrive shortly. Anyways..."
Black nodded, and blinked. He waited, but another awkward silence followed.
"Well...?" President Snow said, his voice sickly sweet.
Black didn't understand. Then he blinked again. "Oh! Oh of course, the arena. Forgive me..."
President Snow held out a gloved hand as Zax Black handed over the map. The president unrolled it, scanned it over, and was yet again silent.
A few seconds passed, and Zax Black started to rock back and forth on his heels, anxious. What if the president didn't like it? The Gamemaker could be executed...
Then the president spoke, causing Black to nearly jump.
"Is this a maze? In the arena?"
"Uh, yes sir." Zax Black wondered if the president was either smiling or frowning, it was hard to tell.
Then, to his surprise, President Snow let out a laugh. A long laugh. "Zax Black, you are the most horrible man I have ever met. This is amazing! Just wonderful!"
A smile came to the face of Zax Black, who kept nodding his head and saying "thank you, sir, thank you!".
"Is it all set?" the president asked.
"Yes, sir. The arena have been build a few weeks ago. It's finished and ready to go."
"Excellent. I'm glad I hired you."
Then Zax Black was dismissed, and they both turned around and walked away in opposite directions.

Re: [OOC] The Hunger Games (2010)
I think we should wait for maybe 4 or 5 more tributes then we'll begin :P oh and the mentors and stylists. Let's hurry and get this roleplay started! ^_^

So get ready for some torture guys, cuz the arena's gonna be hell >:]

Re: [OOC] The Hunger Games (2010)
and now...President Snow the Second? lol let's just do that. can I also roleplay as the President? owo (I'll have 4 characters which is kinda unfair but his role is so small though! XD)
Re: [OOC] The Hunger Games (2010)
sorry if I sound like I'm ruling this all out but I just want this roleplay to play out well OwO
Re: [OOC] The Hunger Games (2010)
I think we should fill up the roles of the Careers first. Cuz a Hunger Games NEEDS a career pack. We need at least 4 careers (in my opinion ^^)
let's keep this in mind:
District 1- Luxury goods for the Capitol
District 2- Medicine
District 3- Machinery/Factories
District 4- Fishing
District 5- Livestock
District 6- Scientific Research
District 7- Lumber
District 8- Weaving/ Clothes-making
District 9- Hunters(?)
District 10- Mathematical Research(?)
District 11- Agriculture
District 12- Coal
Districts 1,2 and 4 are Careers. they're all well-fed and well-trained. The other districts (especially the highest districts) are the supposedly the weakest and most are never trained.
I got this from my other Hunger Games roleplay xP hope they don't mind I use it.
Re: [OOC] The Hunger Games (2010)
I'm so excited for this roleplay to start though, hopefully more people will join soon.
Re: [OOC] The Hunger Games (2010)
And wanna know something? I've been roleplaying for about 4 years and I just found out what a Mary-Sue is ONLY A FEW WEEKS AGO. So there.
And when we answer, try not to be too hot-headed, mkay? ^^ Patience is the key. Answer politely even though the other person was being a total *cough*dickhead*cough*. They'll leave you alone faster.
And Rue (can I call you that?), this is a really good roleplay idea and I'm a huge fan of Hunger Games ^_^ but I think you can fix up some things. I don't think we need exactly 24 tributes, 12 stylists (or 24 stylists cuz it's one for the boy and one for the girl), and 12 mentors. Maybe you can minimize the tributes to about 10 people? Because about half of the tributes are already killed after the bloodbath, and I don't want to see half of the roleplayers cursing their heads off cuz their characters are killed when the roleplay barely even started.
As for stylists and mentors, it'll be really difficult to keep track of all of them unless you want people to double-up and roleplay as more than one character.
But yeah, you don't have to follow me, it's just advice ^^
anywaaaays...I'll take the role as Head Gamemaker, if that's alright ^^ don't worry, I know what I'm doing. *starts drawing out maps and traps* OwO

Re: [OOC] The Hunger Games (2010)
Personally, I think you're just dicking around to see what kind of responce you can get, but that's just me, the professional asshole who was declared king of trash talk nine months running in my clan. So yeah, whatever man.
Re: [OOC] The Hunger Games (2010)
Your response completely confirmed that Rue was a Mary-Sue. You can tell when a character is when:
- The author feels personally attacked and gets defensive when the character is questioned or insulted (Ever think about that???)
- The character is named after a CANNON CHARACTER or THE AUTHOR (Uh-oh)
-They're adopted, but don't know (Uh-oh again...)
- Gems are used to describe eyes (Emeralds LIEK YAY!!one!!)
Sweetie, I'm not here to bring you down. If I was, I would be insulting YOU and not YOUR CHARACTER (and I would be using profanity). I just want make RPGateway a less Sue-ish place and maybe, MAYBE, make you a slightly better writer. BTW- I saw the changes you made, and I like them. If you want help completely ridding your character of Sue Influences, pm me. I'd be glad to help.
