Max was basically just following Dani right now. All that mattered to him, and the main thought that was in his head, was her safety. He could hear another helicopter overhead. "So, why all the commotion though? What possible purpose would these people have to kill us? Cant they just leave us be, its not like we have anything they want? Cant they just find another person to hunt down instead that doesnt know about them?". Max really had no idea. His blood could definently be a reason, granted his species blood has always had regenerative properties, but combined with some human DNA, it infact doubles the healing ability. This is a very specific code of DNA though, and he had no clue as well.

He also didnt know his blood can anyone else with even a pinch of human DNA too, but thats not the point. Well, not completely.

He then added "So, where should we go next? We need someplace big, crowded, and a place where we can blend in. That or someplace isolated. So a big city, like New York or Vegas, or the middle of the woods that arnt these woods......".

Now on the track of Max and Dani (whom neither of them she knew), Megan-Wolf quickened her pace. She could smell them from here, even through all the thick pine tree sap and...blood. Blood? She turned her head, instantly remembering that supernaturals weren't the only things that went bump in the night. Worried now, she leaped high over a tall bush, landing face-first in the overgrown earth, which was littered with soda cans and garbage.

Stupid humans, she thought, narrowing the fur above her eyes. All they ever do is make our planet worse with their trashy ways.

Shaking her head, Megan looked up to see that the boy and the girl were already a few yards away.

Daniel

Daniel sighed and tried his best not seem annoyed at Max's questions. He had to keep in mind that there wasn't any reason that Max would know what was going on. It was sudden. He glanced back at Dani and Max and, for a moment, felt the smallest bit of protectiveness over his sister that a guy seemed so near to her.

"I know you want answers, but you'll have to wait until we get somewhere safer. More comfortable before I relate your unfortunate story." he said, putting in a bit of humor at the last part.

It felt surprisingly good to let out that humor. He had been so serious for so long. Always worrying about others and making serious decisions. Never had he been given the oportunity to let loose a little. Not that it was necessary to. He scanned the forest and caught a scent. A wolf. Not any normal wolf either. The blood didn't smell right. He stopped walking and cautiously looked around for the source. As he did this, he turned to Max and Dani.

"There's a werewolf out there. Not your friend either. A different one." he warned as he continued to look around.


Dani

Dani listened to Max and Daniel. She had questions too, but she was willing to wait until later to ask them. The answers were probably too long to be explained in such a place they were in. She glanced back at Max and smiled, hoping he didn't know the reason behind the smile. His presence was comforting. She liked that she could be near someone that she knew gave a damn about her. As she walked, she glanced at Kaylee, who was in her arms.

"You doin alright, Kay?" she whispered.

Daniel suddenly stopped and Dani stopped right behind him. She watched as he scanned the forest and then tested the air to see if she could smell what he smelled. Before he even said it, she knew what it was. She smelled earlier, but didn't say anything, thinking that she might have been wrong. Apparently she wasn't. She kept this bit of knowledge to herself, not wanting Max and Daniel to know that she didn't tell them. She held Kaylee tight against her and prepared to have to defend her. It was obvious that she wouldn't be able to do much with the girl in her arms, though.

The helicopter that Max had heard overhead grew louder as the group stopped. Without warning, a single pop of gunfire blasted out, the speeding bullet coming down and striking Kaylee in the chest. Fortunately for her, the activation of her vampire genes had mostly numbed her, so she only gasped instead of screaming.

"I think I'm doing pretty good, Danikinz." Kaylee obviously had no idea what just happened.


Ianto pushed himself off Daniel's shoulder when he heard Kaylee gasp after the gunshot. Trying desperately to ignore the pain in his injured leg, he stumbled over to Kaylee, not even realizing he had yelled her name when he realized exactly what happened. Yanking his little sister from Dani's arms, he fell to the ground, cradling her and just shaking his head when she asked why he was upset.

He turned to glare at Max. "This is your fault." he felt Kaylee go limp in his arms.

Expression hard, Ianto stood up, Kaylee falling limply into the dirt before him. He took off running into the forest.


Blond hair bobbed in the bushes and a short boy with a perpetually confused expression on his face darted out into the open, ignoring the group, and began snatching small rocks off the ground. Once he had a substantial pile, he pulled off a glove and began throwing the rocks (which began glowing yellow as soon as he touched them) at the very low-flying helicopter that held the sniper who had shot Kaylee. Several of the rocks exploded in mid air, making a loud popping noise as they did so, but a few of them hit or made it into the helicopter. The hovering aircraft abruptly began moving and swerved off to get away from the exploding projectiles.

"What insanity happened here?" A girl with light brown hair stepped through (yes, through) a tree and raised an eyebrow at the group.
"You kids look like you've had the hounds after you. And the hounds are winning." she added the last bit as an afterthought. "Anything I can do to help?" she smiled wickedly and zipped up her black and gray striped jacket.
She could hear approaching footsteps in the distance. "Sounds like the puppies are back for more chow. C'mon kiddos, what're you waiting for? Get your rears in gear and scoot your hinds out of here. Leave your friend- she's dead weight now and will only slow you down."

She pulled a pack of gum out of her pocket and popped a piece in her mouth while she waited for them to start moving or asking questions, whichever they started doing.

"The name's Myddrin, by the way." she smirked.


"Broderick Thaddeus Isaiah Elijah Felix Hannigan at your service." the blond boy, which had been throwing the exploding rocks, smiled. "Call me Brody." he tossed one of the rocks up in the air and easily caught it, but cursed when he realized that as he did so, it bumped his wrist and began to glow yellow.

Dropping the stone and moving several feet away, Brody watched it explode.

"Now," he smiled. "What should I call you lot?"

Dani

Even though Kaylee didn't scream when the bullet hit her chest, Dani did. She shook her head and couldn't fight back the tears. They spilled from her eyes in what seemed to be never-ending streams. She lost strength in all her limbs and couldn't keep Ianto from taking Kaylee from her.

"No no no! Kaylee!" she screamed, sounding desperate for her friend to come back.

Dani collapsed next to the limp body on the ground and continued to cry. She ignored the two new people that came in. They weren't important. All she could think was that both Kaylee and Ianto were gone. She held onto her best friend's dead body as if it would somehow make her come back. A hand on her shoulder made her look up. It was Daniel. With the look on his face, she knew that he was going to tell her to let Kaylee go and accept that she was dead. Dani shook her head and whacked his hand away from her, then she looked up at the two newcomers.

"You! That helicopter was following you. She didn't have to die." Dani cried.

Dani was completely torn. She didn't know what to do anymore. All she wanted to do was sit there and hold her friend.


Daniel

Daniel turned around as Ianto pushed himself off his shoulder. Kaylee had been shot in the chest. He couldn't do anything but stand there and watch as Dani and Ianto both got torn over her death. It was useless. He noticed the two other kids come in with their happy attitudes. When the boy took out the helicopter, the girl pointed out that they should leave Kaylee because she was just dead weight and going to hold them back. He agreed, but wasn't sure if he should voice it. Instead, he put a hand on Dani's shoulder and hope that she got the message. She did, and she didn't like it. Of course, she got up and blamed the two kids who just walked in. Daniel sighed and waited to see what would happen next. It was best not to get invloved in a situation involving a vampire in Dani's state. He was upset to see Ianto go, though. There were like brothers. Practically were brothers. They grew up together, but Daniel was always prepared to be separated from someone he cared about. That's how life was with the gang. The only thing tighter than the bond between member and member was a family bond. Dani washis blood sister, so she came over everyone.

Having her animal instincts take over her, she dashed over to the brother and sister, not to mention the girl on the ground. Stretching herself in her wolf form, she immediately became human again, kneeling on the ground near the threesome.

"Are...you ok?" Well of course not, smartass. Megan thought to herself. She just got a goddamn bullet through her chest. What do you think?! "I...I have some bandaids. I hope you don't mind me being here..." Snapping her head over to look at the boy, she glared. "And no, I'm not a werewolf. I--" Megan refrained from telling them that she was a supernatural. But then again, they had already seen her change from wolf to human, so that didn't exactly matter at the moment. "Ok, fine, I'm a supernatural. A shapeshifter. But only animals though." God, what were they going to do now? Hit her or something?

Max had flinched at the bullet shot, and his concern immediately went to Dani. He also looked around, but there was too much panic. He went over to Dani, who was over Kaylee, his brain was still registering what happened. "This isn't good, thus is very bad.....even if she had regeneration, I don't see where the bullet came out, it might be inside her....". He then gulped. "We need a hospital......".

He already knew someone was looking at him with a "Are you crazy" look. But, otherwise there could be lead poisoning....". He then stopped when Ianto blamed him. "Oh really, they didn't arrive until you got here! Maybe they followed YOU!" he noted, in a more protective then angry tone. But at the same time, he was right, they did arrive after them.

Max then noted "Well, unless someone here has surgical gear and a degree in medicine".

Max stayed close to Dani and Kaylee. Mainly Dani, but details aren't important right now.....

Megan cleared her throat and stared straight at Max.

"I said, have some bandages and medicine. God, you guys need to learn to use your ears."

Megan reached into her satchel and pulled out a small spool of gauze, along with a bottle of medicine and painkillers. She bent down and looked at Max, shaking the two bottles and the spool.

"Need these?"

"She's dead, kiddies. Nothing you can do for her now. We've got to get going before more puppies come after y'all!" Myddrin practically snarled at the group. "Now get a move on, unless you all have a mind to get shot, too. You can mourn your friend later, but for now, I'm going to hide the body."

Without another word, Myddrin stepped over to Dani, grabbed Kaylee's wrist, and activated her phasing power, pulling the dead girl through and away from Dani's arms with ease. Still phasing, she headed to the nearest tree and phased through it, but left Kaylee inside.

"Now, let's get going, yes?" Myddrin smiled, crossing her arms and leaning against a tree, she squeaked as she fell through it.

Quickly gathering herself again, Myddrin hopped to her feet, but didn't try to lean against the tree again.

Dani

Dani wasn't looking at anyone. She heard the other girl mention bandages and medicine, but that wouldn't help. Kaylee was already dead. There was no way to bring the dead back to life. Well, not really. But that was a different story, and something that would never happen. However, the thought did stay in Dani's mind. It remained there too long. But before she could even begin to voice it, that bitch who just walked in took Kaylee and put her in a tree.

"No! Give her back! I'm not done yet. There's still something I can try. I'll carry her. She's my responsibility. She's my best friend." she cried.

Dani glared at Myddrin with her tear-filled eyes. She was slightly aware of Max's nearer presence. With all that was going on, it was comforting to have him near. Especially since he seemed to be agreeing with her.


Daniel[

Daniel waited for his sister to stop yelling at Myddrin before he came over and picked her. He carried her on his shoulder with her flailing and hitting him. It didn't hurt since she seemed to be weaker in her current state, but it was annoying. He motioned for Max to follow.

"Come on guys. Let's get moving. Dani, she's gone. Accept it and move on." he said emotionlessly before continuing to walk.

Dani continued to hit him and flail, and he kept on going, ignoring it. She was screaming every curse she could think of.

"Stop! Let me go you fucking bitch! I fucking hate your god damned fucking guts!!!" she screamed as she pounded on his back.

Daniel growled and dropped her. She fell to the ground and glared up at him. A growl escaped from her throat as well. It was only a few seconds until Dani got back up again and took a step back in the direction where they had left Kaylee. Daniel shook his head and grabbed Dani's arm.

"Where do you think you're going?" he asked.

Dani unsuccessfully tried to yank her arm from his hand. Her fangs sharpened as she growled at him now.

"I'm going back for Kaylee." she said, voice low and threatening.

Max wasnt quite sure what happened. It seemed all too confusing, he just stayed near Dani, being confused (which wasnt really well hidden either). He wasnt quite sure what to say, except "Sorry" and "Do you need anything". Something inside him was telling him to move on, which probably meant he was going insane. But he just followed Dani. Again, he had no clue what to do.

Until something happened. All of a sudden, a shot rang out. But it wasnt a normal ring for Max. This ring was longer for Max. He wasnt moving any faster then before, he was moving the same speed as everyone else, but it seemed like he was reacting faster. He quickly got Dani down, and where she used to be, a bullet went through.

Everything seemed normal to Max now. Just for that one moment, when he was afraid.....massively afraid for Dani......did that happen. The bullet however, nipped his shoulder slightly, but it started to heal quickly. Max started looking around. He didnt see where the sniper was. But his main focus right now was Dani's safety. He was also trying to figure out what just happened.

(Poor Max, this is what, the 3rd-4th time hes been shot within the last In Roleplay week? Somewhere close to that....)

Dani

Daniel had released her arm and she started heading back in the direction that Kaylee's body was in. She couldn't leave her behind. As she walked, she didn't notice the confused Max that was following her. At least, not until he knocked her to the groud. Less than a second later, a bullet had sailed through the air where she had been standing. She looked at Max with wide eyes.

"Nice save. Thanks." she said with the slightest hint of a smile on her face.

Her expression turned to concern when she noticed the small wound on his shoulder.

"Are you ok?"


Daniel

Daniel heard it before the lizard demon sensed it. But he didn't have time to react. Luckily, the lizard demon was quick enough to save his sister from harm. He looked at the two new kids to make see if they were ok.

"You two ok?" he asked with only slight concern.

Daniel didn't really care about others. However, the powers these kids possessed seemed to be useful enough to keep around. In this case, he would have to express concern for them in order to keep them around.

Megan ducked down and quickly changed back into a wolf. She dashed over to Daniel and stood on her hind legs, gently pressing one of her forepaws against his arm. The one with the wounded shoulder.

"I should be asking you that."
((Ack, I know, short post. Sorry! Busy.))

Max then noted "We need to go! Before he shoots again!". He kept hold of Dani's hand as he ran away from the location where all the bullets were comming from, further into the forest, although there was a faint car noise nearby......a single faint car noise.... (Hint hint Nudge Nudge)

Meanwhile.....up on the Sniper perch.....

(a few minuets earlier)

The Sniper took his position upon the large rocky hill thing. He had a clear line of sight on all of them, at least as long as they didnt go further into hte forest. He focused his scope on Max. He loaded in his bullets, steadied his sights, and readied the shot. That was his target: Max. Right as he fired, someone else kicked him, causing hte rifle to move as it was fired slightly, and the bullet missed Max, instead going into Kaylee. The Sniper had no clue who she was, but he soon figured it out. He took out a tazar, set to a high charge, and a combat knife. "Well, look who escaped. They might want you alive, but it would be sad if you fell down that cliff on accident..." he said in a sadistic like tone. She then noted "Ha, you cant even cut open a dead turkey". He shot the tazer, but she somehow managed to dodge it. He swung his knife at her. She jumped back, and almost lost her balence.

The Sniper went over to his rifle. It still worked. He checked the scope. the bullet went through the wrong person. He reaimed at Max, and he was then tackled again, causing him to pull the trigger prematurely. It headed towards Dani, who was next to him, but Max managed to prevent the hit. They fought, and she bit him. Which hurt. He then managed to get a good slash on her with his knife, but he knew that wound would heal quickly. He got out his tazer and thsi time hit her, not knocking her out, but she lost her footing, and almost fell off the cliff, barely holding on.

He went back to the rifle. He still had a clear shot on Max. This time, he wouldnt be able to dodge it, and he wouldnt miss. Everything was in place.

He got ready to take the shot.......

(XD, i am so mean with this suspence XD Dont worry, everything will be explained soon enough)

Daniel

Daniel looked down at the wolf-girl as she spoke to him. He didn't know how it was possible, but she did it.

"I'm fine." he said and looked around for the other two that had joined them, forgetting that there had been three.

Instead of catching sight of the other two new kids, he saw Max running off with Dani. He broke into a run after them. Before he took off, he noticed a scent. It was up on the hill. He continued to follow after Max and Dani. It was his job to keep an eye on his sister. The lab was after the whole group. Even though this sniper seemed to be aiming for Max. Daniel kept all these thoughts in his mind so he could question the boy later. For that moment, he would let Max play Night In Shining Armor for Dani. The creep seemed almost too powerful....

"Come on you three. We have to get going." he called back to the three newcomers.

Dani

Dani ran with Max since he already had her hand in his. It made it harder to object. She glanced back to make sure her brother was still there and was satisfied to see that he was. As soon as she felt they were far enough away, she yanked on Max's arm and came to a stop.

"I think we're far enough away now. What happened? I smelled a couple of scents....sort of. Still working on the new vampire abilities, but...." she trailed off, not sure what to say next.

Dani felt slightly useless that her abilities didn't seem to be much help. It all seemed to be up to Max and Daniel. The two guys in the group. At that thought, Dani turned to face Daniel.

"Once he's finished explaining, you're next. There's still too much that I don't know about this 'experiment'." she said and looked at the new kids, the added," You too. I want to know where you three came from and what you know."

"I'll do a sky search for...whatever we're looking for. Or avoiding." Megan suddenly remembered what Dani had asked her and turned to her. "I'm Megan. I'm a shapeshifter, and I'm running away from home. Basically, me and my parents...don't get along too well. They tried to sell me. UGH." You curse silently under your breath and stand up on your hind legs. You shut your eyes tight and flap your forelegs. In seconds, you've become a sort of bat. A flying fox, you think, considering your size. You spiral upwards and glide around the area, keeping a lookout for...

Whatever.
Flying is fun.

Max:

"I dont know, i just head it and...i guess I stopped the bulet from hitting you. Im still working out the details...." he noted. Thats when another shot rang out....

The sniper was then kicked away again. He weilded his combat knife and tackled the defender defending Max and the others. They struggled. She kicked him in the....well, you get the idea. He was in pain, but he quickly got back up, and sturggled with her some more, knocking her against the rock and preparing his dagger. Thats when a helicopter landed behind the sniper.

Another woman got out, but she was much older, and looked like she was in charge. She looked at the sniper, and then noted "You idiot!". He then asked "What is it? Im carryoing out my job, removing the rejects....". "Except one of them has been labled as an accidental success....two actually....". "So what, im not allowed to kill them?" "Not until we have hunted them down, and the scientists have disected them......"

"Fine....". thats when another helicopter came around. She then asked "Does he know about his sister?" "No".

(good night, im too tired to do anything else)

Dani

Dani growled in frustration at Max. It wasn't intentional, but she was more annoyed than ever. How could he not know anything? What did he do when he escaped? Who did he even escape from? She looked at Daniel.

"You know about what's going on. You're my twin brother. Where ever you go, I'm going too." she said and glanced at Max.

The sudden need to survive was taking place in her. She wasn't sure if she wanted to be around others anymore. Was Max even part of the same experiment as her? She noticed Daniel shift uncomfortably and tense up a bit.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

Dani noticed that her brother was glaring at Max, making Dani unsure if he'd be able to keep himself from attacking him.


Daniel

Daniel knew what he heard. He'd been sure about it a few moments ago only to have it reaffirmed again. Another helicopter was heard and then there were faint voices that he was able to make out. He only listened to the first part and then mentally cut the rest off when he glared at Max, unsure of what to do about him. He wanted to eliminate the guy right then and there, but that would only piss Dani off. Though, Dani did seem as if she wasn't sure about him herself.

"They're looking for you, Max." he growled.

Max:

He looked at Dani "I just wish we knew, not to mention you may know what what you are, but I don't. At least you know whats going to come next for you, and what you can do. For all i know, i could have a lifespan of 20 years, or grow horns, or be permanently stuck in that other form. I could spontaneously combust in salt water for all I know!" he....noted. He was confused. Granted, the combusting into salt water is unlikely, if not impossible, but none the less, he had no clue. In fact, for all they know at any moment he could go into some sort of cocoon or hibernation state, or turn red.

Max then looked at Daniel. "What do you mean? I thought they were after all of us? What is so damn special about me?". He isnt self centered, you have to give him that. But Max looked puzzled, confused, hectic. Of course, he was overlooking his regenerative blood, unnatural reaction time when stressed, and who knows what else. As he said, he has no clue.

She of course kicked at the man, but was tackled by three guards who restrained her with handcuffs, and forced her into the helicopter. She could still hear the woman though. "Well, i guess we need more bait then, or we need to make sure he finds out...and you better show some use....". The man then replied, in a hastened, somewhat loudish tone "We could try calling him. Or we could take one of his friends...." "What if he separates from them to try and protect them?" "They are already slated to be killed. If they separate, we will get messy with anyone not with him. Send a message...." "Fine then".

She then went into the second helicopter, while 4 of the 8 guards that came in the second stay with the sniper to assist in their capture. The second helicopter then took off.

Dani

Dani nodded, but walked off angrily. She just lost her best friend. It shouldn't matter what happened anymore. All she wanted to do was get away from whoever was hunting them down and get her friend back. She headed back in the direction in which Kaylee's body was left. Every step from her was cautious in the hope that she could avoid more trouble. She quickly and quietly made her way to the tree that Kaylee's body was in. It wouldn't be hard to do since Dani had a heightened sense of smell.


Daniel

Daniel sighed and turned his full attention to Max.

"I don't know what is so special about you, but I'm not sure if I want you around. All you're going to do is cause more trouble for us." he said, not noticing that Dani had walked off.

Daniel was too distracted with his argument with Max to notice. However, he did glance at the three newcomers every one in a while to make sure they weren't up to anything. His trust for others was beginning to fade.

"Yeah. Fine. Can we go now? Oh, and crybaby, if you don't stop blubbering your feet are gonna become a part of nature, just like your friend. Even if you broke that tree down or whatever you plan to do, she's a part of it now. Your rainbow butterfly kid's molecules are a part of that tree now and there's no way in hell I'm going to actually go through the trouble of putting her back together for you. Now, let's go." Myddrin jogged over to Dani and grabbed her arm, activating her phasing power.
Turning, she started to drag the girl back the way they were originally going, not paying attention to see if the girl was starting to sink into the ground or not. So far as Myddrin cared, if she couldn't keep herself afloat then let her sink. Myddrin was frowning, thinking about the fact that now that she had used her powers on this girl and gotten involved with them, not only was she stuck with them, but while Dani was phased with her she could hit, kick, scratch or whatever she wanted so long as Myddrin was still in contact with her.
As she walked, Myddrin's mind went back to the girl's, Dani's, earlier question. I want to know where you guys came from.
Before she could stop it, her mind was reeling backwards, sending her in a fast-forward through all her memories of the lab. Unlike most of the others, she'd been in the lab since she was little. She could remember all of the tests, the needles, everything. Myddrin frowned deeply before shaking off the memories as best she could. It wasn't the right time for that. Keeping up a steady pace, her mind wandered to other things.
"I wonder how long it will be until they find out about Brody." the words parted her lips as a harsh whisper, but she didn't notice that she'd actually said them.

Brody stayed silent, watching the proceedings and nodding when Daniel asked if he was okay. He winced visibly as Dani asked where he'd come from and what he knew. It was obviously a sensitive topic with him and he was determined to keep silent regarding that matter as long as he could. He raised an eyebrow as Myddrin started phasing Dani and dragging her along.
"Myd, you can't keep using your power like that. What if..." he trailed off and got a startled expression, seeming to have just realized that there were other people there.
He couldn't keep silent when they started accusing Max of being the only one they're after. "They're.. Uh. They're not just after him. I know y'all probably want to get rid of me now that I've said that, but trust me. You want me on your side. If they... If they take me again.. It won't be good. For anyone. Especially not the people they're trying to hunt down, AKA you all. And if I die there'll certainly be some trouble that follows." the corners of his mouth turned down just slightly, like he suddenly had a bad taste lingering in his mouth.

Myddrin stopped in her tracks as soon as Brody told the group that there was more than meets the eye here. "Broderick Thaddeus Isaiah Elijah Felix Hannigan, you are an idiot. An absolute idiot."

Brody winced like he'd been slapped. "Just- just let's get somewhere safe and I'll tell you the whole story and we can figure things out, alright? If we work together they don't stand a chance."

Max:

Max really wasn't sure what to say. And with everything that was going on, he sort of wanted to disappear.

He didnt mean literally though, but none the less, he turned invisible.

Then he tripped on a rock and became visible again. He got up. Buts that's when he heard something, something he didn't before, likely from all the shooting and fighting going on.

"Is it just me, or do I hear cars nearby? Cars going very fast?"

He went past a large group of bushes and by a hill and saw a bit of a distance away the highway. And Kaylee's car, believe it or not, was parked nearby. Unless it was a car identicle to hers. He couldn't really remember the license plate and such.

And despite everything, it was practically unscratched.

"I found a highway.....and a car.....which might be Kaylee's...."

At this point, you have to wonder what sort of screwed up luck Max has. It's very inconsistent between good and bad.

Very inconsistent.

Dani

Dani glared at Myddrin and was just crossing her arms when the girl grabbed her and dragged her away, allowing her to phase through things as well. Her eyes widened as she tried to grab onto a tree and went right through it instead.

"Ok! Stop! I can go on my own. Just stop making me go through things." she yelled at the girl.

Dani still wanted to tear the girl's throat open, but knew that Daniel wouldn't allow it. Plus, it was starting to dawn on her that there really wasn't anything she could do to get Kaylee back. Her friend was dead forever.

Daniel shook his head as Myddrin started dragging Dani along. Instead of intervening, he ignored them and turned to Brody and Max. He was about to ask Brody for further details when Max mentioned the sound of cars.

"Dammit. Is there ever a break where we can actually get somewhere?" he said to himself and then narrowed his eyes at Max.

"We've been here too long and this group is big enough to be easily noticed. We need to split up into....pairs? It'll be easier that way." he said.

Max:

"Or, it makes us easier to pick off. Considering they managed to find us in the middle of the woods, with trees everywhere, I doubt splitting up will help, seeing as how they are tracking us somehow......" he noted, then thinking for a moment.

"....I think I figured out how they are tracking us. Which means we can't use that car especially, Kaylee's or not. Because if it is Kaylee's car, it's what they have been tracking us with I think. Think about it, they never found us unless we were with the car. Before we picked up Daimion (or however it's spelled), did they find him, or at least easily? No. How did the police get our location? How did SWAT get our location? How did they manage to find us on the right side of the woods? I can't believe I never thought of it.....they have to be tracking the car!"

Well, that actually makes sense considering. Max started pacing, and thinking, before then noting "We need a new car, something they can't track, and we need to get somewhere safe. Then we should talk strategy".

Despite not totally showing it, Max was shocked, a bit nervous, and jittery. But he was probably right.
