Arcanon

Arcanon enters.

0 · 2,133 views · located in Forest Border

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Alasund

Description

About middle height and of slim build, this 21 year old mage has a mostly black cape and robes, his black hair pulled back in what can be loosely called a ponytail.
His crimson eyes are cold, and seem to cut into your soul.

Image

Personality

Cold and calculating, Arcanon is more like a scientist than a Mage, and his approach to anything is an interest in dissecting it to find out just what it is that makes it run like it does. Some say he's done this to magic, but no-one knows. Other than that he helps out the needy, but the higher up people he doesn't help, as he reckons anyone that far up in the world can help themselves.

Equipment

A book that powers his magic, sentient, and the cloak that is fire/acid resistant.
It is partially resistant to laser as well.

History

It is unknown where exactly he was born, it is only known that he was born into poverty, and had to work himself up in the world. He was helped by a sentient book that taught him how to use magic, and fuels his spells. Essentially he is a two man team, but few expect Mortei to actually communicate, it is unknown whether he can communicate to anyone else then Arcanon.

So begins...

Arcanon nods, and seriously considers rigging the battle in the Chaos Mage's favour. But after a few moments flipping through the book, he decides against that course of action. He wasn't ready to remove the Half-breed yet. Yet. Finally finding what he wanted, he murmers for a moment in that soft warm-breeze type of voice, the symbols he draws with his finger on the knife etching themselves into the surface of the metal before fading. "I assume you don't want the curse visible?"

"I could think of a few. Say what of Eviscar?" He smirks. The referance is pretty obvious in his mind, and not that much more applicable than any puns. In fact, in that regard it probably is worse. He hands the knife back, the curse of bad luck now hidden underneath it's cold steel.

That being a shortening of Eviscaration. A well suited enough name for the purpose they were to be used for. "I would wish you luck, but that knife will make any such gesture meaningless anyways." He replies, nodding his head.

Arcanon nods in reply, watching him leave. Still, the lingering possibility of rigging the fight had been there... There would be endless oppertunities to dismiss the Half-Breed and take all of his powers. He had no knowledge of Arcanon's art, or not that much anyways. It wouldn't be that hard to deal with him when the time came.

Arcanon was already there, also reading a book. This book would feel magical to any who could sense it, the sentient artifact of a demonic entity that was bound to the younger mage. He leaned against the inside of Ezrael's shed, his eyes closed as he could feel another user of magic approaching. He preferred to stay on the inside of the shed, smirking slightly as he wondered who this person that Ezrael wanted him to meet was...

"So, another mage. And not a bad one either, eh Mortei?" He comments idly to the book. "I hope he doesn't intend to share any more than the tower...." He slowly traced the outline of the staff in it's sheath, the enchanted weapon cool against his fingers. Do not worry yourself over his decisions. The more allies he has, potentially the harder it is to keep everything for yourself when he is gone. Keep an eye on the objectives here. The books voice vibrated around Arcanon's skull as he grimmaced. Another lecture? "Save it."

Arcanon stepped out from the shade, eyeing the other mage up and down even as he took the slip from Ezrael. He already knew what Ezrael wanted, what drove him. Once you knew that you didn't truly need to fear someone. This new person was another factor. An unknown factor. Something that could bear watching.

Never take your eye of a wild card. He turned his gaze to the paper, grinning slightly. This was a new development. Not an unseen one, but a new one. "I hope you can survive the strain." The mocking tone flicks in as he draws the strings of magic together. It was time to work on this magic project.

The ecstacy! The power that flowed through Arcanon was brilliant, and for that moment of weaving, it was like he could crush the world if he so decided. Drunk with power. But he held himself to weaving, not getting lost in his own mind as the magic use overwhelmed him. Then. Then emptiness, the loss as the magic left him.

He felt only the dregs, and he closed his eyes for a moment as he swayed forwards... Then straightened as if unaffected. The pure red pupils would give away that something was different. "I do congratulate you, Ezrael." The deep voice rinkled across the air like a fetid smell of evil, the echoing laugh sinister as the demon lord revelled in his moment of freedom while the owner of the body rested. "The magic was truly entertaining."

Arcanon ... No. Mortei followed Ezrael to the ribbon, turning his head to look at Rahal. "I am not a human..." He smiled slightly, the confident pace and the lack of even a slight sign of weariness gave away the unworldly power of the Demon Lord. "However, you are correct." Yes. He was not Arcanon. But they were bound.

He turned back to Ezrael as he watched the magic use take place, his own smile fading slightly as he looked around, then looking up at the web. "So, demonling. Have you the servants you intended? Or are you still behind schedule there?" The rich voice of the demonic entity mocked Ezrael in a very similar way to the way Arcanon had mocked him. Except there was a distinct feeling of 'half-demon is lesser' in there which Arcanon never portrayed.

Arcanon had drifted this way again. He had become more and more intruiged by the way the three distinctly different energies had combined like they had in the creation of the tower. It wasn't that it had changed the tower, but more what it could do if you combined such energies. So he was once again hovering around the area, with nothing better to do.

Arcanon nodded in greeting, although his lips stayed in that firm line for now. "Ah, yes. Nostalgia." He comments drily. "So I imagine that it forced you to somehow stop it?" He asked, an eyebrow raising. He had very bad memories of this particular monster. He disliked being forced to give Mortei the control of his body.

Arcanon frowns. Though he would not straight out admit it, he wasn't that proficient in the area of mind magics... except... "Would it be possible for the creature to be made unconscious enough for me to surgically alter it's mind? That would be the easiest option to stop it seeking your death."

"That creature has a rather good resistance for most similar magics." Arcanon replied huffily. "I don't think a 'powerful dominate creature spell' as you put it, has a very good chance of working. A non-magical approach would be easiest and most efficient, except that it looks like that won't be possible.... Although, if I could use the tower to do it, I believe I could bind it's will." The last bit was said slightly sly manner. A reason to wield the influence of the tower? Why ever not?

"Yes, the tower." He replied, touchily. "The towers pure power would ensure that no matter how much resistance it has, it will fall to the enchantment. However, you are correct in that we need that chaos mage to open it." He appeared thoughtful at this.

Well, Arcanon had some ideas for the 'veil', but he wasn't presently sure about them yet... "Gargoyles? Only useful if they move and obey you, otherwise they're ugly ornaments."

"Well, I'm not sure I've encounter ones that aren't animated by magic, but they would be useful either way. The bee wolf monstrosity? I think you did." He replies smugly. Hadn't he been there with the naming of the first Eviscar?

"The more manouverable, the harder to catch." Arcanon replies with a nod. "Have you ever thought about binding a Dragon to use as a first impact for the army?" He had to muse that one over. "Elementals would be good as well. Air to scout and stay hidden. Earth for double sided assaults, water for Sea version of the Earth tactics and fire for general destruction."

Arcanon shrugged. "Elementals have their uses. However, with that leading the armies and perhaps a few Dragons to aid it the army should be unstoppable. And then there's always the veil and the tower if things do go wrong."

"As am I." Arcanon smiles just slightly, then, thinking for a second, he replies again. "And yet that can also be the undoing of living creatures. It isn't that hard to lure them into a trap."

"Expendable soldiers are usually the base of any army." Arcanon replies quickly, as if getting in a point. "I have little idea about Gargoyles, as I haven't bothered considering their kind for anything useful before this."

"You mean a planning chamber, if we wanted to be fancy?" Arcanon replies, his voice dripping with pointed ... jibeiness. "Or you could just set everything up somewhere and actually just put plans together?"
