Arcanon

Arcanon enters.

0 · 2,130 views · located in Forest Border

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Alasund

Description

About middle height and of slim build, this 21 year old mage has a mostly black cape and robes, his black hair pulled back in what can be loosely called a ponytail.
His crimson eyes are cold, and seem to cut into your soul.

Image

Personality

Cold and calculating, Arcanon is more like a scientist than a Mage, and his approach to anything is an interest in dissecting it to find out just what it is that makes it run like it does. Some say he's done this to magic, but no-one knows. Other than that he helps out the needy, but the higher up people he doesn't help, as he reckons anyone that far up in the world can help themselves.

Equipment

A book that powers his magic, sentient, and the cloak that is fire/acid resistant.
It is partially resistant to laser as well.

History

It is unknown where exactly he was born, it is only known that he was born into poverty, and had to work himself up in the world. He was helped by a sentient book that taught him how to use magic, and fuels his spells. Essentially he is a two man team, but few expect Mortei to actually communicate, it is unknown whether he can communicate to anyone else then Arcanon.

So begins...

Arcanon seemed just a little disgruntled. He'd had to flee from the creature last time they met, and didn't particularly want to run into it quite so soon. "Are you sure this is strictly necessary?" He asks, waving his hand in the general direction of the working Eviscars. The rain bounced off the cloak, some rolling onto the open book that sent the rain sizzling back as steam.

He had done something different this time. His full Ward Shield was set up and swirling around him as soon as they entered the raining area. Symbols literally danced at his fingertips. He was apprehensive and jittery... Probably the first time Ezrael had seen him this antsy.

Arcanon leveled his gaze at Ezrael, defiance burning in his eyes as he reciprocated the glare. But then, also distracted by the arrival, he switched his eyes towards the forest. He slowly pulled the staff of Fear out, holding it forwards as he already began to chant in that oh-so sweet voice that subtly tried to relax all who heard it. He was ready for anything that it would bring.

He shook his head, annoyed that such a beast survived the hit.. And that Ezrael had expected it to work in the first place.

Arcanon took a step back, holding the spell on the tips of his fingers. He'd considered bringing the Beast from the Obsidian, but he wasn't sure just how complete the control was, and didn't want to risk it breaking free of its mental restraints. However, having the tower at his command would've been immensely useful right now...

Shaking the slight pang of addiction off, he concentrated as he waited for the two to part. He couldn't incinerate it if Ezrael was in the blast.. There was still much he expected from Ez.

Oh. Something to target? One muttered word as Arcanon refocused on the bears. It'd been a while since he'd used such power, but now he drew a little on Mortei's reserves, calling forth a white-hot fireball. The ball was easily larger than any human, and possibly the bears as well, and was hot enough to burn flesh to a nice crispy state. And just as a precaution for the possibility of the bear coming out the other side somewhat harmed but still moving, the pre-formed wards quickly centered at the front to take whatever impact there would be.

With the bear dealt with.. Arcanon wasn't expecting the attack from above. The bolt slammed through the weakened upper wards, causing the mage to jerk backwards as he was hit with what strength the lightning had left after hitting the wards. Quickly reassembling his all-way shield, Arcanon held his hand out, muttering the continuation of the Elemental summoning. Marked as it was, it drew the power-lines straight back up and was only a moment from completion.

"I'm fine." He spat, interrupting his chant for a few seconds. "Hold him off for a second." Then, having completed all he was going to say, began chanting again. The earth around the mage would begin to boil now as the Earth Elementals finally began taking shape.

Finally finishing in this place imbued with Earth power, the Elementals rose from the suddenly created small dips in the ground. With no heads and rocks and dirt forming their bodies, these creations are particularly renowned for their toughness. Even when completely wet. The rain wasn't what they'd like, but it wouldn't particularly inconvenience these earthy creations.

Smiling as he stops chanting, Arcanon gestured. "Earth Elementals, crush the beast." With this pronouncement, the stony things began moving ponderously towards the Shade whilst Arcanon stretched his own superior shields out to cover both him and his ally. They were stretched, but he immediately began work on fixing the 'stretched' parts of the magic.

He frowned, and was about to disagree strongly ... When the thought of using the tower snuck into his mind again. "As you wish." He replies, intentionally speaking in a mocking tone. "Earth Elementals, retreat." He begins to walk backwards, retreating slowly from the scene. The little hints of just how much he was looking forwards to the tower again showed through, occasionally flicking through his expression or features.

Arcanon grins just slightly. "So you made a queen for them, or did they just come up with one on their own?" Mortei was unusually absent from his hands. The book was consigned to the back slung over the mage's shoulder. He watched the Eviscar's construct their odd 'hive'-like construct.

"Well, I agree with them. It is quite unnatural." Arcanon is quite obviously in a good mood, the quip almost an automatic reply. "Rahal has a point though. Naturally created Eviscar's should be more powerful and concentrated, with mixing the gene's of the Eviscars. It certainly makes sense." He nods as he strides just behind Ezrael.

Arcanon was still grinning. It was truly a vast creature, an impressive creation. "You created a queen for these ferocious things and expected it to do nothing, grow, live, without your commands?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in question. "I wonder how hard this thing would be to destroy? It's size renders it's ability to fly useless, however its pure power should make up for that imperfection... if it weren't stuck here." He frowned.. For some reason the massive queens inability to move was more annoying than anything else he'd seen here...

"I don't see why they would stop at the size we originally had them, not when allowed some freedom. Only if the size of the bee compensated would they not, but I must admit that this creature is quite the impressive thing." He turns his head to Ezrael, frowning. "What would be wrong with them growing? Surely greater sized soldiers will be something even more fearsome?"

"Hrmm... Not so much. If it was in magical origin, yes I could by unbinding the source of the changes. If not, but rather by some sort of toxin or radiation... Then I know nothing of it." Well, he's certainly not ashamed to admit that he knows almost nothing about non-magical medicine....

"I know the theory. I've never properly practised it in powerful proportions, though, so I may have to start carefully..." He mused to himself, rubbing his chin. "Get rid of the shade? How?" Of course, as soon as the Shade's defeat is mentioned, his head perks up and his eyes narrow.

"That's relying a bit much on the words of someone you can't be sure is telling the truth? Have you even tested this substance to accertain the truth to his claims?" Arcanon looked a little disbelieving at this, "However, drawing it in and blocking it from the rain via the veil is a sound enough plan."

"The Shade, when I encountered it in the city at first, was a pathetic opponent. I could've beaten it without much difficulty. Here, in the forest, it was much, much stronger. Surely if we can force it to stay in the city we would be able to beat it without any mystical itemry to aid us."

Arcanon smiles. There was something... different that flickered in his eyes as soon as the tower was mentioned. "Yes, we do have the tower. It can't stand to that, nothing can, after all."

Arcanon nods slowly. "I am in agreeance then." He replies, smiling up at the Queen again. "Truly an interesting thing, the Eviscar's are turning out to be."

As usual, Arcanon found himself nearby. The warehouse was near the tower, and his nest was near the tower. The commotion was noticed immediately, and Arcanon moved to investigate. "You look for my accomplices for what reason?" Arcanon asked from above them, crouching on the top of the warehouse. He enjoyed over roof travel these days.

"Indeed I am." He replied, his face impassive as he marvelled at the similarities to soldiers that was just apparant upon meeting them. Then he frowned. He'd thought that the natural enemies would diminish once the Shade had been defeated, but apparantly this was not so. "Show me there. I will deal with it as best I can." There was consternation in his eyes... And fear. Fear that there was something greater than the Shade, and that they had woken it by slaying it's servant.
