The Triumvirate was gathered in their Heart, all around a large, marble green table with the Supremacy's symbol engraved in the center. The Parran, a nunkeian woman by the name of Sanya. Another, the Kairan, an alulan man called Tamrou. Then, the Alnova on the third, an ustelan leader, genderless, but often mistaken for being male. Badoren.

They were dressed in lavish robes, all three of them, with guards perched into the coves carved into the walls above. The Three were not afraid to have them so far. Each of them could take on a small army alone, especially from within the Heart, where the building itself offered itself as a weapon.

"We are having visitors," spoke the Parran, her features still as stone when she spoke, pallid fingers laced together below her beak of a nose. Tamrou nodded.

"Our second batch of foreigners, visiting Triumvira within the same week. Something must be done about this. We cannot allow more aliens to continue coming to our city as though we put out a welcoming mat!"

Badoren held up one of his six hands. "We must keep sensible, Kairan. We have done well to keep them out in the past. They shall not stay long. I am certain."

Several people were out at the Supremacy's Port with soldiers all around, waiting.

She shook her head as she lead him to the meeting room. "I do not think so. I am sorry, but I am afraid that we will likely not see each other after this meeting. I only concern myself with other Misranans if I am able. You and few others are exceptions. A casual talk would be out of the question." she told him curtly.

Where did he think he was?

The meeting room was almost as large as the Parran's. All three of the Supremacy's top leaders sat on what appeared to be thrones, one higher than the two at its foot. The Alnova, the grey alien with six limbs, sat at the highest, and the Kairan and Parran at the lower.

"Here you are, Mister Hayley." said Jakki.

"I can only hope to change your mind, Miss Matala." The man said as he followed behind Jakki, "Actually... ignore me. Let's just chalk this up to being in a foreign place with beautiful foreign women."

Lochlyn stepped into the room soon after Jakki, giving her a polite nod before stepping up. "Greetings." He said to the Supremacy leadership.

"My name is Lochlyn Haley, I come with business and to ask for help."

The Triumvirate all stared down Lochlyn with critical eyes.

"Help?" said the Parran, her tone sharp. "What help do you need of the Calidonan Supremacy? We do not deal with foreign politics or dealings. Only our own. Have we not reiterated this enough?"

"We have no more Terran citizens here, or any others, in case you, too, were searching for someone." said the Kairan.

"Firstly," Lochlyn began, "I am not a Terran." The man informed the Parran, "I'm not a politician, I am a businessman. My business is here is just business, any help you can provide would be much appreciated."

"My son, Jacob, I heard that he fled here after committing acts of terror on Terra. I fear he's taken refuge with gangsters or other terrorists, he tried the same on Terra." Lochlyn explained.

"You say others came here searching? Others from Terra? Who were they?"

"Those by the name of the Invictus," replied the Parran. "Looking for your son. They have picked him up and left by now."

She crossed her legs and sat back in her throne. "He is likely back on Terra. Out of our influence. Is that all you had to bring up with us? If so, we can have you escorted out immediately."

They knew what Lochlyn had told Jakki. The walls of the Heart had ears. No place was safe.

"Unfortunate, with their control of the military I have my doubts that I can get him safely away from them to await a fair trial." Lochlyn said solemnly, "It's unfortunate that I have no one powerful to aid me." Lochlyn said to the Supremacy leaders.

"No, I told you I'm a businessman. I come to offer the services of the Jupiter Corporation to you, your people and your military. You won't regret hearing what I have to say."

There was almost a smile on the Parran's lips. Mocking. Dry. He thought he could garner sympathy? From them?

It was laughable.

"Very well," said the Parran, the slightest of laughs in her voice. "Go on, Lochlyn Hayley. Go on and continue. We will listen." For now. But whether or not they would act was the question. They were on the verge of throwing him out already.

"My company creates technology. A lot of... advanced technology." Lochlyn told the Supremacy leaders, "Most of it is to increase the quality of life. Artificial hearts, cybernetic limbs, organs, muscles and joints." The man explained.

"You're probably my technology isn't special at all." Lochlyn said, "I'd like to demonstrate it. Some of it can be used for military purposes." The Englishman added to appeal to those with war on their minds.

"Some of what I'd like to demonstrate will require a weapon and my assistant, you don't mind, do you?"

"You don't seem to understand much about us." replied the Kairan. "Biological components fused with mechanical technology has already been introduced into our everyday use for centuries, now. What about your own makes it special?"

The Alnova held up a hand to silence him. "Please continue." he said slowly to Lochlyn. His eyes widened slightly in vague interest.

"Yes, I figured." Lochlyn told the Kairan, "I didn't get to where I am because I'm a moron, sir." The Englishman said, "Veronica, can you enter?" Lochlyn said, the young woman he came with stepping into the room to eventually stand beside Lochlyn.

"This is Veronica Avery." Lochlyn said, introducing the young woman. She had dark brown hair, olive skin and stood a little taller than the average human woman. "Tell them."

Veronica nodded to Lochlyn, turning her attention to the Supremacy leaders. "When I met Mr. Haley I was sick. Dying." Veronica said, "His technology, his work with medicine and devices to help my body staved off any possibility of death." She explained.

"But, what really makes it special, what makes a lot of what I make special. What makes her special..." Lochlyn reached behind the young woman to grab her pistol from her belt.

He raised it up towards Veronica and squeezed the trigger. The bullet barely got a chance to leave the barrel of the gun before Veronica turned to the weapon and held up her hand.

The bullet slammed into her palm and fell to the floor flattened by the force of the impact.

"Any questions?" Lochlyn asked.

The Triumvirate stood silent for a long moment, each thinking deeply about what they had just witnessed. They had super soldiers that could interpret bullets as they were fired, and a few who could take bullets to enhanced, metal parts, others who could change the direction of a bullet if the situation was right. But to stop it with her bare hand?

"You must be cyborgs," spoke the Kairan. "This is undoubtedly rehearsed, as well." He did not want to be impressed, so his first reaction was to completely blow off any possible way that this could be incredible.

"Rehearsed?" Lochlyn asked, "Veronica is a cyborg, technically. I've given her very advanced prosthetic kidneys, a new prosthetic lung, and lastly, cybernetic micro-organisms to fight off her cancer and rebuild her body." Lochlyn told the Misranan leaders.

"But, those are not the source of her nigh-invincibility. This is not rehearsed at all. Allow me to use one of your own weapons which you know are not tampered with to demonstrate what you could have by doing business with me." Lochlyn said, "You won't be disappointed." He assured them.

The Kairan was about to bring someone out, but the Parran stopped him. "-before we get to that." she began, standing from her seat. "What is it that you expect to give us? We are already well on our way to overwhelming the rebellions. Our technology is already great enough to keep us away from outside danger. We have fended off many threats already. What are you really trying to achieve with us, Lochlyn Hayley?"

"What is any businessman trying to achieve?" Lochlyn asked, "I want money, publicity, and growth." Lochlyn answered, "And, you may have fended off many threats, but you don't do that by being unprepared, do you? You don't feel content with the same old stuff, you upgrade, your grow, you adapt."

"For all you know the rebels are already adapting and upgrading, or that some wanker with an army is on his way here." Lochlyn said, "Or maybe that isn't happening, but wouldn't you like to be ready for it?" Lochlyn asked, "Wouldn't you like an impressive footsoldier, an elite, like Veronica out there?"

"This young woman alone could clear out this building without a gun, imagine if she had a weapon?"

Still, the members of the Triumvirate did not exchange glances, but they did not need to in able to convey their thoughts to one another.

A businessman.
He might appeal to the Rebellion.
More supersoldiers on their end could turn the tide of the war. For now.
We made it a point never to employ foreigners. We are to make a good example for our people.
There comes a point where we may have no choice.

All of that, in three seconds of silence. They seemed undecided, specifically the Alnova, however, he seemed to be contemplating it, where the Kairan scoffed. The Parran, however...

"Perhaps." she said. "We will need more time to contemplate this decision. Do not attempt to stay. We will contact you when we have reached a decision. Does that suit you?"

"It suits me well enough for now." Lochlyn said, "I'll be heading to Hera Prime to refuel my ship, I might be there for at least another day or two. So, I won't be far." Lochlyn told the Misranan leaders.

He gestured forward, Veronica stepping up and tossing a datachip towards the Triumvirate. "Everything you need to contact me is on there." Lochlyn told them before turning away.

"I do hope you'll accept my offer." He said, walking off with Veronica in tow.

The datachip stopped abruptly in midair, twenty feet in front of the Triumvirate, and rotated slowly. Their eyes followed Lochlyn eerily in unison as he walked out.

"We hope you a safe trip." the Parran said, narrowing her eyes. When they were gone, silence descended upon the meeting room once again.

Triumvira was as busy as ever. It was early morning in the last month of Swelter, Kneigan, going into the first month of Halagan, the Season of Cold. Most people wore light clothing, but not skanty clothing, at this time. It was cool, and the feathers of the seasonal Sajeera began to turn to a bright orange.

Standing outside of the House of the Triumvirate, right upon the polished white stairs, was a dainty young lady. Her cheeks were rosy and her eyes doe-like, giving off the impression that she was young and innocent. She wore all white, a dress that flowed down to the floor and draped over the stairs. It sloped off of and revealed her tiny, smooth shoulders. She had a head of thick, white-blonde hair that touched the floor in a braid.

Strange birdlike creatures with four wings and long tails flocked around her as though she were an incarnation of Snow White. She was easily one of the fairest women in Triumvira, and without any kind of surgery to pull it off.

She waited patiently for this Lochlyn man who they had called down days after the attack on Aether City and Hera Prime.

It didn't take long for Lochlyn to appear, a Misranan pointing him the proper direction. The man was suited as usual. His suit a dark blue, a trenchcoat to protect from the colder weather bearing the same colors.

Ever stoic, the tall man advanced on the House of the Triumvirate, blue eyes lingering on the young woman he grew closer and closer to. "I was expecting armed guards." Lochlyn said to the young woman, bringing himself to a stop a little ways from her. "Or, perhaps you're much more than you seem." He continued.

"People are always more than they seem."
