Sighing, Cerenah idly toyed with the bottle of antimicrobial handwash she held whilst considering her day. It had started off really well, to say the least. That nice boy from her maths class had phoned and asked her out to a quaint little café...

He hadn't turned up. She'd waited an hour. Phoned him twice. Debated telling Vrass until she recalled that Vrass was chucking up the contents of his stomach with alarming frequency, and then decided to see if she couldn't find someone to hang out with her. Instead, all she'd found was a mean boy who seemed to think introducing himself and running off was socially acceptable.

She'd just go home - her mother was at work, but her father would be there and Sedra always had time for his little girl. And he would be clean. Very clean...

Cerenah stood and, after carrying out the same cleansing ritual on the interior door handle that had been applied to the exterior one, left the bar.

A similarly coloured head of hair followed Vrass into the room, but only after the girl who wore such a shade had cleaned the door handle, opened the door, cleaned the inner door handle and then closed said door.

And then, just to make sure she was completely germ free, Cerenah washed her hands with an antibacterial gel as she followed her brother.

"Vrass, this place is dirty..." the teenager stage-whispered, discontent with the state of the bar. "And the people..."

Cere struggled to suppress a shudder.

Cerenah grimaced, sending up a silent prayer to whatever godly being existed to help her avoid the terrible messes that were sure to threaten her today, before quietly going about the cleaning of a bar seat, a particular section of the bar counter and her hands (again) with a few wet wipes procured from the bag over her shoulder.

"There was orange juice and coke at home," the teen stated, gingerly seating herself upon the stool, her feet neatly placed on the bottom rung. "Oh, Vrass, really... They're dreadfully messy, just look at the mess!"

The green-haired gir peered disapprovingly in the direction of the spilled ink.

"I don't want anything from here, Vrass! The glasses - I can see smudges, Vrass, disgusting, oily smudges from someone's grubby hands!"

Taking a deep breath and muttering something to the robot servers about making sure to clean the glasses they used particularly well before filling one with some cola for herself, Cere folded and refolded her hands in her lap.

"Listen, Vras... What do you think of that boy..." The girl's tone reeked of awkwardness.

Another look at the glasses had Cerenah convinced that ordering something from a bar did not mean that you had to drink it. Or touch the glass.

"Well - do you remember that you said, quite a while ago, that my... phobia would not matter when it came to... you know. That." She was quite sure that Vrass knew exactly what she was attempting to talk about. "I'm not sure if you know him. Steven? He's in the year above..."

It really shouldn't have been this embarrassing to talk to her brother, of all people.

"One thing led to another and it turns out that it was not as enjoyable as people make it out to be..."

"Yes, that Steven," Cerenah agreed. "Do you remember I went out with my friends the other week? I thought it was just some small gathering, but it was this huge party thing and Steven was rather friendly the entire night. When he suggested it, I thought that maybe it would be nice to see what it was that everyone was talking about. You know my friend Mary? She says that she likes it with her boyfriend. I did not find it enjoyable at all. It was uncomfortable, very, very messy and I did not feel very well afterwards."

Cerenah frowned, tilting her head at Vrass as if he had chosen to pull funny faces along with his question. "He did not force himself on me, if that's what you're trying to ask, Vrass."

Cerenah had a personal alarm and she knew how to press that button! "If he had, I would have told you straight away, I'm sure of it." Ask him to stop indeed. "It wasn't his fault that I didn't enjoy it - I don't think it was. He was perfectly nice, just... I didn't find it very... uh. Very fun."

"You mean 'did he use a condom?'" Yep. Cere was going to handle this bluntly. Otherwise, she might end up crawling into a very clean shower and not returning for a few hours to get the nasty feeling off. "Yes, Vrass. I did not enjoy it, but that does not mean that I did not take the necessary precautions. I'm aware of how babies are made. We've all had that class in school."

The class that usually ended up with cocky boys throwing condoms at one another and girls squealing every time one came near them, as if the thing could impregnate them just from proximity!

"That isn't necessary, Vrass. He was really quite nice about the whole situation. When I told him I wanted to stop, he stopped and he took me home after. There's no need for you to get angry with him, although... I'm not sure I'll be attempting that particularly activity any time soon. I'm not sure why you or other people enjoy it so much. It was not pleasant."

Cerenah raised an eyebrow. "I... find that difficult to believe. At any rate, I'm sure that the whole situation was cheapened by the fact that I had little to no emotional attachment to Steven. Maybe it's better with someone who actually cares - and perhaps someone wasn't more afraid of my big brother than he liked my company, hm?" Cere couldn't help but smile - Vrass' (and, in turn, her father's) over-protectiveness was endearing far more than it was irritating.

"You're usually not embarrassed about talking of things like this."

"I can't imagine anyone having sex with you either. They certainly wouldn't if they saw the state of your bedroom! Poor Dad near enough had a heart attack just walking through the hallway and glimpsing into your room..." Compared to Cere's room, Vrass' looked like a small bomb had gone off. Then again, Cere was freakishly clean and there were socks in her sock drawer that had been disinfected copiously before being placed in the chest of drawers.

"I do like him! I just... it's not that kind of like, you know? He's more of a friend than a, ah... you know. Friend. Don't you have one-night-stands or whatever it is that they're called? Hook-ups?"

"So there's nothing wrong with what I did. I didn't like it, I shall not be doing it again in the near future and I'm going to have very awkward corridor meetings with Steven for the next lifetime... And you know very well that it was far more than two pairs of pants. Far, far more..."

Shaking her head, Cerenah smiled at her brother with a familial fondness. "There is no one boy in the entire universe who could impress both you and Dad."

Cerenah shook her head. "Maybe after we've exhausted every last possible male option. I suppose I could just live alone for the rest of my life. I would have to find a very, very clean set of cats. I could yell at small children to get off my very clean lawn that I hoover every other day. And assault them with wet-wipes to stop their grubby little fingers getting anywhere near me."

"I do like Dad's cat. I don't usually find cats adorable, but... Anyways. A houseful of hairless cats sounds like I won't want for company, hm? I do think that you will have some difficulty finding someone Dad likes. I'm sure that he didn't like the last boy I brought home because one of his shoelaces was not perfectly clean..."

That was the reason Cerenah had dumped him, anyway.

"Oh. Well. I'm glad that I ended things between he and I, in which case. I had not known about that particular problem. Skitty is not evil. Skitty is just an adorable little creature that makes Dad happy. That the cat does not like you is probably your own fault. It would not surprise me if the cat avoided your room as much as Dad does. One of these days, even Mum will turn around and refuse to venture in there to put your clean laundry down..."

"Oh, please, Vrass," Cerenah laughed, shaking her head. "What could that small cat possibly do to you? You're ten times the size of the cat, for any sake. Would you really have me believe that a poor, innocent animal is in any way capable of holding a grudge against you? If Dad likes the cat, the cat must be perfectly angelic..."

"It's trying to tell you that it nearly suffocated underneath a pile of dirty laundry on the way to the chest of drawers, I think. And of course it likes water. It likes being clean. That's probably why Dad likes Skitty so much. It likes baths! Dad can clean it until his heart is content and then he has another member of the family to cuddle. It could be worse. Dad could be disinfecting you before giving you a cuddle instead..." Cere smiled.

"Yes, Dad braved a messy nappy... and he still won't go into your room," Cere laughed. "Now what does that tell you about the state of your bedroom, dear old brother of mine?"

The girl seemed much happier now that she was settled in the conversation and had cleaned anything she planned to have skin-contact with. Speaking of... "Vrass, do you have any gel with you? You need to wash your hands after touching that glass and the bar."

Cerenah grinned, none the wiser to the deceptive ways of her brother (and at least he was cleaner than most people she knew). "Perfect. Now, maybe you should go home and tidy up your bedroom? We could get the laundry basket and you could put dirty clothes in the basket and then we can get rid of all the other not-clean things in your room. And change your bedding! It'll be fun. I'll wear gloves. You can touch the dirtiest things."
