If only the party could get more interesting.

Roughly 20,000km above the derelict space station nestled within what could be described as a stellar graveyard. Space itself bent and warped into a brilliant flickering sphere of white that shot forward, and then faded to reveal a 30km long Planetary assault carrier. It was the bulbous hull outline of an Imperial Aschen Reverence II Class Assault Carrier.

Settling into position, debris from the various ships within the Jarrako downs lightly tapped against the hull of the ship, displaced by the spatial distortion as the massive Aschen ship maneuvered into position.

"FTL Jump complete, confirmed sector K-45, Quadrantem Alpha, Onyx. I've traced the Zero-One signals to an installation located here, three nine seven carom two one niner." Lieutenant Sandusky reported as he turned towards Admiral Nash.

"I've confirmed replies from the rest of the fleet, they'll be stationed outside this region of space." He added, handing her the data slate.

"Very good. We have confirmed Zero-One activity in this sector?" Nash inquired, with a nod to the affirmative from her XO.

"Very good, Isolate the station and set condition one. I want marine strike teams ready to board as soon as we get that thing inside the main bay." She said, turning to face the large holographic readout of the station, with DRADIS pulses highlighting the wrecked starships in the area.

Two audible beeps signaled that the DRADIS had picked up something else, the Soulburst.

"Unidentified DRADIS Contact bearing two one nine carom one one six!" The Tactical officer called out, while alarms began to blare throughout the ship's CIC.

Nash narrowed her eyes, as the Helm officers maneuvered the massive carrier ever slightly.

"They're moving in on the station." The Helm officer replied.

"Gods damnit." Nash cursed. "Main batteries alpha through omega, acquire the target and hold your fire."

The massive Aschen ship slowly moved into position directly above the Soulburst, roughly a dozen or so massive Dual-barreled turbo-disruptor emplacements on the ventral side of the ship swiveled to life, adjusting their targeting onto the vessel below. Each discharge from these batteries exuded fourteen megatons on it's target once it fired. However these batteries did not fire, even as they powered up, and the Reverence II's shields flared to life.

From bow to stern, an envelope of light engulfed the massive bulbous vessel, it's computers ran their targeting parameters.

Soldiers moved to their defensive positions as the CIC Crew began to plan their next avenue of attack.

"We need to seize that Zero-One signal at all costs, get me a marine strike force on a Raptor in five minutes." Nash ordered.

Things were just fantastic for Russian, while Daisy the captain began to angrily talk in his ear about things that were rather simple compared to all the shit he seen. Stealing a prison core, raiding a prison planet unseen, Childs play for anyone with experience. Now try fighting your way through a demon infested planet and blood crazed cultists wearing power armour and wielding guns capable of destroying tanks or swords capable of tearing apart mech all with what you could find by yourself.

Now here he was getting grabbed by Rei who thought he purposely set off the explosives. It was understandable that he was irritated with all that was going on, but now he was getting pissed off. Rei who was shaking him and yelling at him made the shards of metal sticking out of him make his wounds even worse. "Are you serious you fucking moron! Like I would purposely set of explosives without warning you stupid lot! The fucking door was rigged and quite frankly the baby captain distracted me. Right now you are being a jackass by shaking me when I am injured here you bitch! And you dear "captain", you try fighting the shit I seen, I like to see you crash land on a demon infested planet with nothing but a simple pistol and survive for a few weeks without getting killed by said demons, blood crazed cultists wandering the planet holding guns capable of destroying tanks and swords capable of tearing apart mechs. I promise you would be dead in seconds!" He yelled at Daisy and Rei until all of a sudden he was let go when another group of people warped in waving white. What was even worse was when his arm device began to alert him when it detected more ships entering the area around the station. "One thing after another...this is why I work with people with brains...money be dammned at this point, at this rate I am more likely to kill my "team" then work together." Russian muttered as his wounds got worse thanks to Rei shaking him and dropping him to the floor.

What surprisingly caught his attention throughout all the madness was the sounds of morse code. A grunt could easily recognise the sound to be an SOS. He would have answered morse with morse but he was injured, bleeding and pissed off at the moment.

Sara paused after the first set of knocks, and heard muffled voices on the other side…
Angry, arguing, then a faint buzz… Something was going on over there…

‘ Mavrick, what are the odds of a ship being able to detect us…?’

‘ Fairly slim… Well for me anyways, you’d show up, if only faintly for organic life since you’re no longer cloaked.

‘ That’s what I thought… I think we need to---’
She cut off as something roared through out the empty halls, Sara’s camouflage snapped back on and she returned to being all but undetectable, The ships might notice that a once barely visible life form had simply vanished, might have died perhaps?

‘ Lets fall back and wait this out, stay soft… until we can place the demo charges, and get the hell off this scrap heap. ‘

Mavrick said , covering the door still. Waiting for the door to open still, not that they had made and effort on it.

Sara quietly agreed, and quickly moved about 25 paces back the direction they had come. Once she was in position to watch the door Mavrick followed her keeping his weapon trained on the door til he cleared the intersection, then moved quickly and quietly down the opposing wall Sara had taken. This gave them eyes on the only two directions and attack could come from.

Should anyone come through those doors, they likely wouldn’t notice the two cloaked cyborgs unless they walked into them, and even then they’d have to go out of their way to do such with both of them hugging the walls closely.
Should something unexpected move up on them they'd hold fire until they were sure they were being attacked.

Seth made his way back to the others, only to find far more than he had left.

"Ok, what the hell is going on?" he asked Rei was clearly ticked, Daisy was holding her gun, Russian was holding wounds, which explained the explosion Seth had heard. "I leave for two minutes and everything just gets shot to shit. And who the hell are these people?" he directed his question toward the new comers. "And where's the door you came through? Because the one I came through just locked, and I'm about ready to get the hell off this hunk of shit and cut my losses."

He edged his way over to the cryo-statis pod that he had claimed before everything seemed to go down hill, placing a hand on it. His fingers drummed absent mindedly on the box as he waited for someone to explain something, anything, that would make some of this make sense. The expression on his face wasn't a hopeful one.

Sin let loose a long sigh of annoys,"you need to leave here now before it's to late." ignoring the young women holding the gun at him he looks to his team behind him giving them orders through their mind-link. After few mins his team disappear into the shadows leaving only him and his two body-guards still in the room.

"Prince Sin we have company, an assault carrier just FTL in are sector and have position above us with weapons targeting us and their shields are up."

Without wasting more time than they have Sin order Soulburst to take action through the mind-link. Soulburst is a self-govern ship that runs mostly on AI control. At that moment Soulburst went into action an let loose a large EMP-pulse wave directed at the unknown warship overhead. Soulburst wont be effected by the EMP because it power source is't electric by nature or any equipment the Asphodelian have on hand. After firing the EMP Soulburst proforms a SSJ {Small Space Jump} appearing just behind the massive warship just a few leagues away just to prove a point. Powering up it's Displacement Shields and main-weapons as it waits for warship to make it's next move. Soulburst main weapons are the four large Dark-matter orbs located in front of the ship that able to fire cadence dark energy with the speed of light at any mutable targets.

Sensing the two scouts from the hive hiding overhead Sin walks in the middle of the room to gain their first attack, and just then they drop down to attack hoping to catch Sin by surprise. landing on the left and right of Sin holding short swords they try to slash at Sin neck but they were to slow even so there movement look like a flash of lightning. With binding speed Sin draw his own long sword purrying both of there attacks and slicing one of their head off in one motion, not giving the other one the time to run to report back to the hive Sin extended his left hand and blasted its head with a blue-flame based attack spraying blood all over the place. Putting his sword away he looks at the group of humans and with annoyed voice.

"Gess we have to work together get out of here alive, so can we not kill each other"

The crew of the Reverence II Absolution continued to work tirelessly as the opposing alien vessel made the first move.

The electro-magnetic pulse, like any other energy weapon washed over the shields of the Aschen vessel, from the ventral to the dorsal side, the pulse washed over the barrier and caused it to glimmer a brilliant white for the faintest of moments.

Aschen technology was naturally hardened against EMPs thanks to it's crystal based computer structure, hardened gel-circuitry and quantum positronic hybrid systems.

The EMP was detected, however, even as the alien ship made it's tactical jump behind the Reverence, Admiral Nash was tracking it's every move, a brilliant flashing red icon on a holographic display in front of her.

The sheer size of the Reverence II would make it difficult to maneuver and come about to bear in the tight stellar junkyard, so Nash considered her next options carefully.

"Tactical; aft batteries come about, direct hard-light shields to the aft section, engage and destroy the target." Admiral Nash ordered

Several dozen massive single barrel turbodisruptor batteries swiveled up and about from their recessed positions on the armored hull of the warship. Turning they garnered a firing solution on the Soulburst. AI Assist through the ship's central AI and targeting control came to life as information was beamed all about the ship.

"We have firing solution, rear quadrant." One of the tactical officers reported. "Enemy vessel is powering shields, and weapons."

Nash nodded slightly, all two-hundred and fifty Turbodisruptor batteries were reporting firing solutions. A few salvos would likely be sufficient to collapse the shields of the unknown vessel, a few more would assure it's destruction.

"Main and auxiliary show clear! Batteries locked and zeroed in!" A gun captain reported on the shipwide intercom.

"Planck Packs online and charging, we'll be able to inhibit their jump capabilities shortly!" Another tactical lieutenant reported.

"Very good, engage and destroy; execute." Nash ordered.

----

The Reverence II Slowly came to life, like an angry beast it powered gargantuan weapon systems, it's tactical and combat systems zeroed in on the Soulburst, and finally there was a surge of energy. Capacitors discharged into primary ignition systems, and the ship opened fire.

Turbodisruptors discharged towards the soulburst, each brilliant bolt of green light carrying 14.3 megatons of explosive force, the equivalent of a large thermonuclear warhead.

These weapons discharged in a single salvo, and then began to discharge in a staggered pattern that would wear shields down quickly. The point had been made, the Soulburst was tangling with a ship beyond it's class, and surrender would be the only alternative to destruction.

Glaring she walked over to Russian purposely and raised her hand before slapping him across the face, "I'm clumsy, what the fuck is your excuse retard? There is a reason you don't use explosives on old space stations, most of them were built to sense such disturbances." growling she marched over to monitor just ignoring the others as she franctically typed various details, but as she suspected the explosion had activated inner code, "FUCK! FUCK! Russian if I ever get off here you are being spaced!" muttering she indicated to Rei, "The whole station waking up, everything... but this is bad the core was never meant to last this long... yet something seems to be taking advantage of this surge..." putting her head in her hands she frantically tried to derail anything, but even if the protocol could have been reversed, something seemed determined to keep it going, feeding off the energy...

Letting out an aggressive sigh she tapped the console working on locating the threat. Just as she was doing the whole station shook with the chaos out in space, the escalation evident. Despite her expression growing colder she slammed her hands as the console refused to respond, "I AM LOCKED OUT, SOMETHING LOCKED ME OUT..." just then the consoles all around grew red almost like blood, but even in her worried state Daisy recognized something, "THERE'S AN A.I ON BOARD..." of course she had no idea who it was, she furiously tried to break through, but all she could do was open the door being banged on. Now she was locked out. Daisy was no hacker so in utter frustration she turned to Russian, "If you break through then you won't be spaced... But that A.I it's locked me out and preventing me doing anything else, except minor things..."

Pausing she added, "The core can't take all this power use it's old and was never meant to last this long..." exhaling she turned to the new arrival, "Hey you whatever you are, make yourself useful the whole station waking up which means all security systems will switch on... we need to deactivate the core... I have an idea how to do it, but I won't go on my own..."

"Not if I get there first.." Rei muttered in agreement with Daisy. Russian was really rubbing her the wrong way, and before she could start to make sense of everything again the station shook and lurched sickeningly throwing Rei hard against a console. "What the hell? Of course there's an A.I. on board." She groaned in irritation mildly distracted.Rubbing her now sore ribs and back through her jacket, she turned around to inspect the console near her. This was getting worse by the minute and someone's curiosity was about to kill several people. Sighing, she could see that she was no longer along just for the ride and fun. Rei forced herself to focus, she shoved Daisy out and away from the other console before swearing again under her breath. "Fuck it all to hell... We have company and they sure as hell aren't friendly! It's the Aschen!" She said worriedly.

Rei had a feeling that what they were there for, wasn't the rock but the computer system. "Okay here's the deal kiddo, you're going to take tall dark and creepy over here down the core. While I try to buy us some time.. the system's infected." It was hard to explain how she knew what and why the system was infected, but she had a sure hunch that that was what the Aschen had come looking for.

Looking back over her shoulder at the door, she could have sworn during the all the commotion she'd heard someone or something pound on it.

A series of blasts would strike against the shields of Absolution with no small degree of force, as a black vessel shaped in the general silhouette of a falcon swung into her visual range. The vessel had no distinguishing marks, carried no brand, and was not like any vessel on record. It was the size of a small frigate at only 40 meters in length, but it's unique silhouette and design clearly indicated that it was meant for maneuverability and speed. More curious, the crew of the Absolution would notice that it did not show up on any scanners or sensors. As far as technology was concerned, the vessel did not exist. It's dark coloration and lack of distinguishable features or identifiers clearly meant it was a stealth based vessel.

Whoever the vessel belonged to, they were clearly not friendly, as they strafed the Absolution with weapons fire again. The weapons fire, interestingly enough on it's own, had no known comparason in any database. The blasts were not nearly strong enough to penetrate standard starship shielding. What the Absolution's crew would quickly come to realize however was that the blasts were little more than a side effect. A sort of metalic gel was spreading rapidly on the outside of the Absolution's shielding, and had already covered half of it, essentially trapping the larger vessel in a cocoon of some form. At the same time, four pods ejected from the stealth ship, hurtling straight for the station. These pods bypassed the station shielding somehow before impacting the stations hull.

Inside the station, in the very room Rei and Daisy occupied, a set of four red circles appeared on the ceiling as the pods burned through the hull into the room. Once they had cut through, those four circles dropped to the floor, and through the newly created breaches individuals in a strange dark leather attire dropped through, sealing the breaches behind them. Hoods pulled over their heads, faces wrapped with scarves, their outfits giving the impression of hunters, with dark leather tunics wrapped tight, coattails loose and fluttering from their waists, belts with pouches and sheathes holding knives, swords, and even an axe. Every one of them had a quiver full of arrows on their back, though oddly enough no bow could be seen on their person. Two of them were obviously female, and one stepped forward and pointed at the console, commanding clearly in a strong voice. "Mnyala you take the console, Farii you and Shander take defensive positions, and all of you." The leather clad soldier gestured at the original occupants of the room. "My name is Di'Noa, do not be afraid, we are here to help"

One of the others, Shander, responded to his commander. "Sir, how long until the ship returns." His voice was light and youthful, no more than a couple decades for sure. Di'Noa nodded and said "Ex-fil is scheduled for five minutes, no more."

The station shook violently, but the two cyborgs were hardly phased physically by the violence going on around them. Mavrick took point once the shaking stopped and was quickly followed by Sara.

The two cloaked cyborgs moved from hallway to hallway while covering each corner until they had gotten halfway to the large barricaded area they had passed through before. Sara’s HUD flashed red on the upper right corner. Indicating there was iminate critical systems failure and a to the Ai controlling the system’s regulations and security systems.

Who ever was in the control room now might notice that some of the motion sensors were being tripped , but if they watched the live video feed they likely wouldn’t notice the two moving down the halls due to the advanced cloaking technology. Depending on if their was audio or not, they might have been able to hear footsteps.

“What in the gods name?” Sara asked as she took up a defensive position behind a hastily made barricade.

She began digging through the layers of warnings and code gathering what information she could about the core and the on board AI that was causing issues… , then something happened she didn’t expect.
For a single moment fear like she had not experienced in many years ran through her mind. Something had attempted to Trojan her system. Thankfully the method of compartmentalization Sara used for digging through other computer systems had kept the Trojan out, out of her mind. Deciding not to fuck with it anymore Sara even disconnected the servers.

“ Mavrick, there is something fucky going on around here. We need to gather the last bit of personal information for the Renev. That old ass core is gonna burn itself out at the rate everything is going.”

“ Can’t you just shut it down?”

“ Not now, The onboard AI did something weird and tried to hack ‘me’.”

“ Hack you? Never heard of an AI doing that… What do we do?”

Sara’s mind raced for an answer, but there wasn’t a solid one to be found…

“ I think a hard restart would work but we gotta get to that core, we can collapse it with the charges to wipe whatever the Renev didn’t want anyone getting a hold off out of existence and we can leave. ‘

“ Good, i’m tired of this place…. Wait, didn’t you say something about teleporting to the planet's surface? “
Sara’s mind reached back…
“ yeah there are short range teleportation rings onboard.”
“ Let’s keep that in mind just incase we can’t get to the ships… “ Maverick said, tagging the location of their ship on his and her HUD. It was at the bottom of the current area they were at about 3 miles away.

“ Alright… let’s start heading to the main core and AI control center”
And with that , they were off.

As the station shook something in the back of Seth's mind said it was just as good a time as any to throw that handy helmet on. As he did so Daisy proclaimed that an on board AI had locked her out of the system, then that the core needed to be shut down and she wasn't doing it alone. Rei declared that the Aschen had arrived, and started to take command of the situation to Seth's relief, she seemed like the level headed one so far. He made a note to inquire of the crew before he randomly accepted money to join scavenging mission next time.

He was only slightly amazed at the appearance of even more individuals, these dropping out of the ceiling. "Oh, good, Robin Hood is here." He quipped. One of them ordered his men to various parts of the room. Apparently a lot of people knew a lot more about what was going on than he, or anyone else he had come with, knew. And they all seemed to be showing up at the same time.

"Look, someone tell me what to do, and how to get off this giant space coffin." He sighed heavily, "Coulda been drinking cocktails in any number of places right now, but no, I had to go on an adventure in fucking space."

He looked around again, deciding that the devil you knew was just as good in this situation as the devil you didn't, "Rei, what do you need from me?"

When Russian slapped across the face by Daisy, he just rubbed his face and sighed in disgust. "You can certainly try it..." He muttered under his breath as he decided that the metal shards in his body had to go. Taking off his uniform revealing a simple white, short sleeved shirt. He pulled the shard of metal from his body and wrapped his uniform around the wounds to slow the bleeding. Thankfully the two metallic shard were around the same height so wrapping them with his uniform was not a problem.

Russian slowly stood back up, allowing his body to get used to the missing blood in his system. He then heard Daisy yell about getting locked out of the system and that an A.I was onboard the station. "So you need to to hack the console? I don't know, I think my brain is a bit startled after that slap and my arms aren't working properly after someone was shaking me to high hell. But jokes aside fine...I rather not die here." He spoke as he marched to the console Daisy was at and plugged his device into the console and began pressings hundreds of icons in a matter of seconds.

However the systems security seemed to be heavily beefed up, what seemed like an ordinary military grade system turned into what he could describe it as. "This is like trying to cross the grand canyon over a tightrope, with a motorcycle, while being shot at by rockets. I can crack this no problem, but its going to take some time. Especially since the A.I keeps on reinforcing the firewall every bloody second! You wanna challenge the best hacker! bring it machine! I will downgrade you to windows eight when I am done with you!"

The phrase from bad to worse come absolutely to mind. And that was really how she truly felt. She knew the others wanted to likely lynch her, but she still had one way to appease them. The ship schematics revealed what powered the core was a very rare expensive component which removed would completely put Jarrako Downs to sleep outside of minor systems, but she had to get to the core. Nonetheless these people had no allegiance to her so she lift her little hand console pressed a few buttons before her ship responded. Not even the greatest hacker could steal her ship it was encoded to her own DNA. It was an extreme modification she had done. With that done she continued walking down long passages with her guide, "So are you a vampire or do you just look like one?" she half joked to keep things in a state of levity, "My estimations we don't get to that core before all systems are on the explosion would make it impossible anyone to get out in time..." her guide was very silent making things more pressing, but being away from the other was a relief and armed with her shotgun she occasionally cocked it. A nervous thing.

In reality she was not even sure if she could make it in time, navigating this ship was going to take forever and considering core was right in the middle point. They needed to find transporters pronto. Thus she started performing scans of the area to pin point where transporters landed and figure out a course. None so far got close enough.

Shoved back from the console, Rei just threw her hands in the air. "Oh fuck it, I'm done with all of you twits." She said as she turned to leave. But then there was the matter of Seth offering help; and while Rei was about ready to just leave him there with Russian and Daisy, she supposed that he had been the least amount of trouble. "Help? You know how you can help? Get me the hell off this rust bucket excuse for a space station." She snapped, evidently frustrated beyond reason with the situation at hand. It appeared to her that Daisy's half baked scheme had bought them more trouble than she was willing to pay for.

"Because I'm done, those two can just stay here for all I care."

Sin lost in his train of thought worrying about his ship he decides to order his ship with his mindlink to SSJ (small space jump) to a safer location and cloke itself. He needed his exist plan, he would hate being stuck here. After that was done he can get back to the task at hand to help this girl to the core hopping she don't get trigger happy with the shotgun or hers, being immortal won't stop the pain and judging from that shotgun of hers it will really hurt. So to make sure that won't happen he decide to take the girl on her offer to keep things in a state of levity and talk about himself a little while they make their way to the core.

"yeah... I guess you can say I'm a vampire but that will be only half right, you see i have the blood of a first born which means i am a demon by all accounts. You see i left my kingdom behind because their way was destroy this and kill that and for some reason that is not me anymore so i took and position to where i am always far away from that place as i can. When i go back i will kill my father for killing my mother. I hope this don't fighting you because i am true to my word i will never hurt you."

When he was talking his red and purple eyes glows brightly from the emotion of speaking about his past and the rage made shadows leak from his body into air around him.

Sin grab a small blood orb from his pouch and hand it too the girl encase we get separated in this maze of a place.

"I have an idea to get to the core much faster than walking, you just have to trust me and hop on my back and hold on. if we get separated you can summon me by that orb i gave you from anywhere and any dimension you are at and i will be there in seconds.

Waiting on her answer he walks a few paces ahead of her thinking what his father would say to him working with humans and not feeding on them.

Seth's mind was starting to run through various ways of escape. The most obvious one being the horse they had rode in on, but he wasn't sure Daisy was sane enough to cut and run at this point. It seemed like most of the people with means of escape where more interested in staying on board than leaving, despite their warnings that that was in fact a poor choice. There was the plasma weapon Russian had fired, it had made short work of metal, perhaps it would be useful.

"What about outside? Seemed like there must have been a ship or two out there." Seth thought out loud, having moved on to crazier ideas. "Just float on out there and pick one up..." He continued to mumble. He found himself fidgeting with the lock box again. "Call a cab." He mumbled, then more directly, "Daisy could loan us the keys."

His mind was starting to filter through random scenarios, but he didn't have enough information, he didn't know what he had to work with. He looked at a monitor that showed the outside of the docking bay, Daisy's ship attached to the umbilical, the debris, and another smaller craft that seemed to be moored to some sort of external holding space buoy. It looked old, but it didn't look damaged. "That looks promising, in that it's not this station." He directed Rei's attention toward the monitor. "We just have to get to it."

How had it come to this? Staring bleakly at the glass in front of her, she experimentally weighed and surveyed the vile concoction with a heavy heart. It tastes awful, but she could not afford anything. How many days, weeks or months had it been? She no longer knew and the more she drank the more she wondered had she made a colossal mistake? It had seemed such a simple idea go to Jarrako Downs the last remnants of an ancient alliance and salvage whatever they could. No one had died, but though she had the information the data, everything to help, she still found herself out of her depth. Things had worked well, to begin with, and she had taken precautions but seems her timing was unfortunate. As everyone from Aschen to what amounted to Space Wizards and unexpected problems with the station led to them all having to leave whatever they had. It seemed stupid to throw away such a haul of a life time and that anomaly was something she wished she could have picked up... Though the core threatening to go critical was what stopped her and made her leave.

Yet she wanted to know, she needed to know what had happened in Jarrako Downs, although would anyone trust her again? Everything she had, she had sold and now was drinking her money away, feeling sorry for herself as she contemplated everything that had happened.

Just was no winning was there?

The bar itself was seedy as all hell; it was dirty, dank place, dimly lit, piss and alcohol stained the floor while the smell of alcohol acted as a perfume for its many denizens and some of the looks they gave made her glad she still had her shotgun and looked able enough to handle herself. Nonetheless, sooner or later she would need to try to get on the bike again and find new big salvage, that meant searching out rumours and trying to find a source or see the reports on recent finds. That meant to stop this bout of self-loathing and move on. Yet she could not remove the guilt, they had been right, she was incompetent, yet she kept trying.

Maybe, she should just give up, become a whore and sell herself. At least she could not fuck up?

Groaning in frustration she drained the glass, trying to hold back the tears threatening to erupt, that is all she needed... But more she thought about it, more she found the melancholy growing too, dark, suffocating levels.

"Salvatore, you are clear for landing pad one one nine." the voice from flight control crackled over the com.

"One one nine. On decent." Seth pressed the controls forward easily, sending the ship into a soft decent. The first couple of landings had been nerve racking, but he had picked it up quickly enough and the old craft was surprisingly forgiving at low speed. Before long the old ship was settled comfortably on the pad and Seth was slinking through the streets of New Midgard with a cautious step. It had been months since Jarrako Downs and it felt as though he was more on edge the more time passed. At first it hadn't been so bad, he had a ship, he had his box from the station to tinker with, and he was able to make decent money between racing and running cargo. But leaving Jarrako Downs didn't mean Jarrako Downs had left him, on the contrary, apparently the events of that god forsaken place were following him.

It had taken a couple more months before the thought occurred to him that she might know more than she had let on. She was, at the very least, the most likely person he could track down. So he was back on New Midgard, hoping his intel was good. The multiverse was a hard place to find relatively unimportant people, it was one of the reasons he himself had lasted as long as he had.

The bar was more seedy than most, his mind wandered back to any of a half dozen places he wouldn't be caught dead in that were nicer than this. With a heavy sigh he pushed the door open.

The inside was no relief. If anything it was a let down, if that was even possible. He instantly didn't like the entire party at a table to the left, or a shadowy character off in one corner. The rest were riff raff and trash but less than imposing.

And then there was Daisy.

She sat alone at the bar, clearly worse off than the last time he had seen her, which was remarkable considering that had been on the Jarrako Downs. The thought occurred to him that she may not even realize he had survived the incident, after all he had taken it upon himself to make his way off the station with out much of a word. For a long time he hadn't been sure if anyone else had even made it off the station, he still wasn't sure about most of them. Daisy clearly had survived, though to what extent he wasn't sure. It actually took some of the edge off. He had convinced himself that she knew more than she had let on, and over the last couple of weeks had grown rather resentful of the woman, but seeing her like this made it hard to hold that over her. For the moment.

Seth made his way to the bar, pulling out the stool next to her.

"That looks terrible." He stated casually and he set the case from Jarrako Downs on the counter. "What do you know about this?" Her condition had taken some of the edge off, but not all of it.

Glancing up from the bottle she blinked a few times, then reached her hand out to clumsily touch his face. If he allowed, she would blink once more and then let out a long sigh, "So you are real then, not a drunken hallucination." her words were slurred and she evidently less than sober to put it lightly, nonetheless she shrugged, "I guess answers you deserve them... What little I had, I am a descendant of one of the races who built that place. I came looking for answers on what happened and perhaps get some pretty nifty salvage." though she spoke, it was not exactly coherent behind slurring of words and inability to keep her voice quiet, "The anomaly was my main interest I had found it flying near the location about two years back, and that was even before found the damn station. That is how powerful the pulse was. As to what that is, there were some documents in Aschen archives that spoke of Renev Bio-Engineering, the project was abandoned after Jarrako Downs because they went into hiding." pausing she took a long drink from a fresh bottle, coughing slightly as she groaned, and grasp her stomach.

"I need to use little girls room." with that she ran off as fast as a drunk person could to the toilet. Rushing to the nearby toilet she collapsed on all fours and started vomiting her guts out, grimacing and reeling in agony, as she gagged and coughed. Streams of brownish liquid erupted from her mouth as she continued to throw up.

Evidently her stomach had now decided she had drank too much.

Seth froze as Daisy reached out and put her hand on his face. It wasn't the welcome he had expected. Finally, convinced of his physicality, she removed her hand and began to explain. He listened intently to Daisy, despite her clearly inebriated state. So she didn't have any real knowledge of what happened on the station, just a connection to what happened on the station. This didn't solve his problem though.

"Daisy, I need to know who would want this. Badly. Who would hire someone to track this down." He pressed a finger into the top of the case. Unfortunatly she was preoccupied by previously consumed liqueur, and excused herself to the restroom with out acknowledging his question.

He was starting to think this was a futile exercise, and he wasn't sure if he should be surprised. So far all of his experience with Daisy didn't paint her as, reliable. He looked at the bottle of, whatever she had been drinking, and slid it away from him. The bartender came over, absentmindedly cleaning the same glass he had been cleaning when Seth walked in. "Do you have anything that a health inspector wouldn't shut you down for?" he asked eyeing the bottle he had pushed away. The bartender smirked, nodded, and went to find a bottle, pouring a glass and setting it down.

Seth pulled the glass closer, eyeing the liquid within, still unsure he trusted it. He took the glass and turned in the stool, leaning back against the bar as he waited for Daisy to return. He didn't make a show of checking on the shady character in the corner, and the table near the door, but he was keeping notes. It was a habit he had picked up in the months since Jarrako Downs, since he realized he was being followed. He held the glass between his knees, swirling it around, still unable to bring himself to drink anything that was served in such a run down place.
