A young gypsy from Barovia in search of the people who murdered her parents. She is also a skilled knife-fighter.

Description
She is short and very thin, with coppery skin and waist length emerald hair. Her glittering amber eyes are large and beautiful. The nineteen year old is long of limb, and very agile. She typically wears a sleeveless white shirt beneath a leather bodice, a short red cloak, an open-sided white sarong, and soft brown boots. She often adorns herself with many bits of jewelry.
Personality
On the outside, Ellis is a cheerful and upbeat girl who always looks on the bright side of life. In reality, she has a dark and brooding nature, and is prone to violence and depression. She does her best to conceal her true self, but sometimes the facade wears thin.

History
She was raised by Grandmother Nada, an old gypsy fortune teller who was also the leader of a troupe of gypsies wandering Barovia. Nada taught Ellis how to fight, use wind magics, dance, sing, read palms, and use Tarokka cards. The old gypsy woman took her in after Nada found her crying in the street beside the bodies of her murdered parents. Ellis has grown to despise all criminals in general, but she harbors a special hatred for the one who murdered her mother and father: Straud Von Zarovich, Lord of Barovia.

Ellis smiled wanly as she fished out three scrawny sticks of dried meat from one of her belt pouches. She chose the largest of the three and held it out toward him in her slender hand.
"Here you go," she said with a smile. "This should last me for a couple days, still."

The young woman clearly had little shame, as she lifted the bottom of her tunic up to the bottom of her breasts, showing him in full view her stomach, ribs, and back. True, she had a waif-like frame, but there were no signs of malnourishment. Her eyes were locked onto his.
"I ain't unhealthy," she told him.

Ellis put her shirt down and smoothed it out, a smug look on her face. What did she care if he saw her belly?
"Now that you and I can agree on that, I think ya'll oughta start work on a campfire, don't you?" she asked.

Ellis frowned as she folded her arms over her chest. "Well, if ya don't want me around, I ain't gonna stick around," the young woman replied indignantly. "I oughta be getting on down the trail anyhow ..."
Ellis sat down primly beside the fire, smoothing out her skirt. She watched him curiously from across the campfire, a small grin upon her lips.
"You know I ain't gonna get mauled or nothing, right?" she asked. "Why are you so worried about me? We ain't met but half an hour ago."

"Sappy romances make for the best songs, though," Ellis replied as she raised one hand in a scholarly manner. "Everyone loves a good love song. Besides, the heart-crushing break ups that usually follow also make for good music material."
She paused a moment, then frowned slightly. She crawled on her hands and knees around the campfire and sat down beside Tane, pouting.

Ellis smiled and nodded as she drew closer to the winged fellow. She held out her hands toward the fire to warm them.
"What would make me look less vulnerable to you? Should I wear less jewelry?" she asked Tane. "Cut my hair? Wear pants?"

Ellis scoffed and patted the two small knives that hung from her belt. "I got weapons," she replied. "Were I a meaner girl I woulda cut your belt and run off with your things."
She let out a feigned sigh of resignation and clasped her hands together against her bosom. "I fear this world may just be too much for me," she said. "A girl as meek and timid as me just can't survive the harsh realms that we dwell in. Oh, woe is me!"

"I can use them well enough," she replied. "Combat disguised as dance is the specialty of my troupe. When you really think about it, there's very little difference between the martial arts and the art of dance. But what kind of special weapon do you have, Tane?"
"I dance for shows, and fight for fighting," she replied. "I can sing, and I play a few instruments as well. I even know a wee bit of magic myself, you know."
Struck by a sudden idea, Ellis hopped spryly to her feet and smiled at Tane. "I can show you something if you like," she offered. "What would you like to see?"

Ellis rolled her eyes and scoffed and his insinuation. "I'm a gypsy, not a slut," she replied. "I ain't sleeping with ya, no matter how much ya pay me. I was gonna show you the flute that I got. It's got a real nice tone to it. Solid silver, it is."
Ellis produced from her belt pouch a slim flute that as far as one could tell was made of solid silver. Intricate geometrical designs ringed the instrument's body and mouth piece. The young woman sat down again as she began to play, her half-closed eyes fixed on the dancing campfire.
