Ellis
A young gypsy from Barovia in search of the people who murdered her parents. She is also a skilled knife-fighter.

Description
She is short and very thin, with coppery skin and waist length emerald hair. Her glittering amber eyes are large and beautiful. The nineteen year old is long of limb, and very agile. She typically wears a sleeveless white shirt beneath a leather bodice, a short red cloak, an open-sided white sarong, and soft brown boots. She often adorns herself with many bits of jewelry.
Personality
On the outside, Ellis is a cheerful and upbeat girl who always looks on the bright side of life. In reality, she has a dark and brooding nature, and is prone to violence and depression. She does her best to conceal her true self, but sometimes the facade wears thin.

History
She was raised by Grandmother Nada, an old gypsy fortune teller who was also the leader of a troupe of gypsies wandering Barovia. Nada taught Ellis how to fight, use wind magics, dance, sing, read palms, and use Tarokka cards. The old gypsy woman took her in after Nada found her crying in the street beside the bodies of her murdered parents. Ellis has grown to despise all criminals in general, but she harbors a special hatred for the one who murdered her mother and father: Straud Von Zarovich, Lord of Barovia.

Ellis's Story

Ellis smiled her prettiest smile at Boldo and said in her sweetest voice, "I'm afraid I don't know what you mean, sir."
Ellis looked at Valdimir, then up at Boldo once again. She was a smart girl, and knew that fighting would be useless in her situation. So she did what any young woman caught by two men would do. She screamed at the top of her lungs.
"RAPE!!!!!!"
"RAPE!!!!!!"
Ellis "Wouldn't it, though?" she asked him quietly. "I heard it was quite comment for soldiers to assault young woman."
Ellis blushed bright red as Valdimir fished around in her empty back pocket.
"Boldo already took it back," the young woman said, pointing at the wallet in his hand. "I'm sorry, I really do..."
However, her sentence was cut off as Boldo slammed her against the door. She slumped to the floor, dazed, but not seriously hurt. The young woman staggered to her feet, irritated with the whole situation.
"Oh well," she muttered to herself. "Thanks to these bruises, I can at least file an assault charge against the bartender."
Without another word, she slunk out of the bar in search of a pay phone.
"Boldo already took it back," the young woman said, pointing at the wallet in his hand. "I'm sorry, I really do..."
However, her sentence was cut off as Boldo slammed her against the door. She slumped to the floor, dazed, but not seriously hurt. The young woman staggered to her feet, irritated with the whole situation.
"Oh well," she muttered to herself. "Thanks to these bruises, I can at least file an assault charge against the bartender."
Without another word, she slunk out of the bar in search of a pay phone.
The setting changes from Gambit's Bar to The Maw
Ellis found a somewhat flat ledge and collapsed upon it, exhausted from the arduous climb to The Maw. She knew she had farther to go, but her arms and legs simply refused to take her any further up the crumbling cliff. She laid on her back, trying to steady her breathing.
Ellis tensed at the sound of the whistle. She rolled over so that she was on her chest, pressed herself as flat as she could against the ledge, and peered over the edge at the stranger. It worried her that she was in no condition to fight should one occur. All she could do for the time being was watch and pray that he wanted nothing to do with her.
Ellis was not sure whether to withdraw and hope he thought she was an illusion, or whether to respond to him. Hoping for the best, she leaned a little farther over the ledge and gave the man a small wave.
Ellis blinked in surprise at his response. It seemed as if finding a girl out here was unusual, but a man could roam these sorts of places as he pleased. She was not keen on that idea.
"I'm trying to get to the top of the cliff," she called down to him, pointing up at The Maw.

Ellis shook her head as she stood up, dusting herself off.
"My name is Ellis," she replied. "And Wing City's people are worse than the monsters I've ran into out here!"

Ellis laughed warmly as she nodded in agreement. This Nerio fellow seemed alright after all.
"Can you climb up?" she asked. "It's rather tricky. The rocks are a bit crumbly."

Ellis watched anxiously as Nerio began the ascent, hoping that he could at least make it to her ledge. She planned on reaching down to help him once he came within reach, assuming he even made it that far.
Ellis had not even thought about that simple fact. She withdrew her hand and waited for him to reach the ledge of his own accord. She smiled warmly at him when he arrived.
"Hi," she said in a chipper tone.

Ellis nodded in affirmation, then pointed upward at the dizzying climb still to come.
"Uh-huh," she replied. "I had to rest here at least until I could feel my arms and legs again. But I'm curious what you're doing out here."

Ellis hesitated a moment. She barely knew the fellow, but her initial inclinations of mistrust were soon overridden by her naturally open demeanor.
"I think my father might be up there," she answered simply.

Ellis felt a cold chill run down her spine at the sound of the growl. She looked at Nerio worriedly and nodded.

Ellis entered the bar, whistling a merry tune to herself. She paused a few feet from the door, her hands on her hips as she cast about the room. Seeing nothing that she considered blatantly hostile, she made her way to the front of the room and seated herself at the bar counter. She crossed one leg over the other, then began tapping out an idle rhythm with her fingers, drumming them against the bar counter.
Ellis looked about curiously. Was that crying she heard? It soon became apparent to her that the sound of the crying was emanating from beneath a nearby table. She slid from her chair and quickly made her way to the source of the noise and knelt down to see beneath it.
"A child?" she asked, confused. "Poor little dear, what are you doing here?"
