Ellis
A young gypsy from Barovia in search of the people who murdered her parents. She is also a skilled knife-fighter.

Description
She is short and very thin, with coppery skin and waist length emerald hair. Her glittering amber eyes are large and beautiful. The nineteen year old is long of limb, and very agile. She typically wears a sleeveless white shirt beneath a leather bodice, a short red cloak, an open-sided white sarong, and soft brown boots. She often adorns herself with many bits of jewelry.
Personality
On the outside, Ellis is a cheerful and upbeat girl who always looks on the bright side of life. In reality, she has a dark and brooding nature, and is prone to violence and depression. She does her best to conceal her true self, but sometimes the facade wears thin.

History
She was raised by Grandmother Nada, an old gypsy fortune teller who was also the leader of a troupe of gypsies wandering Barovia. Nada taught Ellis how to fight, use wind magics, dance, sing, read palms, and use Tarokka cards. The old gypsy woman took her in after Nada found her crying in the street beside the bodies of her murdered parents. Ellis has grown to despise all criminals in general, but she harbors a special hatred for the one who murdered her mother and father: Straud Von Zarovich, Lord of Barovia.

Ellis's Story

Ellis would pick Imogene up if she allowed her to do so.
"Sachi?" she asked. "Do you know where he is?"

Ellis hugged the child tightly. She knew the role of 'big sister' well, it was something that came naturally to her after many years of watching over the younger children in the troupe. She carried Imogene over to the bar counter and silently placed an order for a sandwich.
"There there," she said soothingly, rocking the child slightly. "It will be alright. What's your name, little one?"

Ellis sat down at the counter once again, placing Imogene in her lap. She patted the child on the head.
"My name is Ellis," the young woman replied. "Do you like peanut butter and jelly?"

Ellis slid the sandwich in front of the child and scooted her forward on her lap so that Imogene could reach easier.
"There you go," she said with a smile. "All yours. Eat up, little Imogene."

Ellis laughed inwardly at Imogene's response. She should have guessed the child would say something like that. There was no harm in humoring the little girl.
"Of course, you're a big girl," Ellis replied. "I think they used strawberry jam. Do you like strawberry?"

Ellis looked at the child, her curiosity quickly turning into concern.
"What do you mean she got mean?" the young woman asked worriedly.

Ellis hugged the child, resting her chin on top of the child's head. This whole situation was only making her worry for Imogene more.
"Now why would they want to get rid of you?" she asked, not really expecting an answer from the little girl.

Ellis gave Imogene a pearly smile and mussed the child's hair playfully.
"Don't worry little one," she replied brightly, "no one is going to get you. Besides, I'm used to being in trouble, so no harm in telling me, right?"

Ellis laughed in a friendly manner. She was a Vistani gypsy from Barovia, she was used to troublesome children.
"What were you going to do, pick my pocket?" she asked, giggling. "Have your big brother jump out and kidnap me? Trick me into buying you a sandwich?"

Ellis felt an icy chill run down her spine at the sight of Imogene's momentary change. She did not move, and she barely breathed, for several long moments.
"Wh-what are you?" she stammered quietly.

Ellis felt her fear melt away as the child answered her. Still, she had one more question to ask.
"Do you have to kill do feed?" she questioned. "What if someone let you take their magic?"

Ellis smiled and patted Imogene on the head, unless she was prevented from doing so, of course.
"Well you can have my magic," she replied. "I'll be just fine without it."

Ellis attempted to pick up Imogene again, stopping if the child resisted at all.
"My magic isn't really for combat anyway," she reassured the child. "Parlor tricks and acrobatics, really."

Ellis chased after Imogene, knowing in her heart that the child needed her help.

Ellis entered the tavern, a smile on her face and a spring in her step. She whistled a merry tune as she made her way across the room.
Ellis turned around curiously when she heard another enter the empty room. She eyed the woman for a moment, then quickly made her way over to the table. She knelt down beside the woman and looked up at her.
"Are you alright?" she asked worriedly.

Ellis gasped at the sight of the copious amount of blood. Without hesitation, she removed the small red cloak she wore and pressed it firmly against the wound with both hands, trying to staunch the bleeding.
"Hang on, you're going to be alright," Ellis said, hoping she wasn't lying.

Ellis did her best to tie the cloak like a bandage around Alicia's midriff. The young woman looked up at Jason.
"Can you help her?" she pleaded.
