Description

(Ethan is the left side figure. Right side figure is Steel Wolf squad member.)

Personality

Captain Stone is a very focused individual. His dedication and ingenuity to the situations his orders create for him have allowed him to reach his current rank, and among the Steel Wolves he has a reputation for doing anything and everything to accomplish his missions.

Although he has turned down offers for further promotion, his ideas and suggestions carry weight with those of much higher rank than Ethan. In fact, it is not unusual for him to be granted priority allowing him to command those of higher rank and their units, given both his track record and his connections to the Agency.

Equipment

Fenris Powered Armor System - Officer Model
Lending the Steel Wolves their name, this armor system is a technological marvel. The armor itself is nano-forged titanium plates over a thin layer of woven adamantium-fullerene fibers. The plate configuration allows for the greatest degree of personal mobility, as well as offers the optimal protection to the various powered systems installed between the layers. Said powered systems including a mobility amplification system, micro-plate shielding system, digi-mapping radar and lidar, advanced unionized HUD+OPSYS, as well a few less requisite systems. Powered by a micronized Rayviel Furnace, it nonetheless can be utilized with a lack of power with a relative ease rather unexpected.

Harbinger Direct Rifle
A modulated rifle template, the Harbinger is a more compact version of the DRAgoon. Captain Stone's is more customized than most Wolves. The magnetic accelerator was fine tuned to handle the larger bore size, the automatic fire mode disable in favor of single shot reflex. Using a hybrid multi-level zoom and framed hover-dot sight, it also features an EM laser for rapid, hipfire shots. Finally, it has an attached launcher loaded with a multiple-projectile, micro-smart grenade rounds (MPMSGs), as well as a more devastating close quarters weapon, the Death's Breath. Forcing plasma into a diffused, aerosal state, it only has an effective range of less than five meters...but generally vaporizes unshielded targets.

Bolter
The standard sidearm of Steel Wolves, the Bolter is a select fire pistol capable of supporting a large variety of rounds. Ethan's typical 60 round dual feed clip features the ion bolt, an energized slug who's outer coating is designed to turn into plasma when fired at hyperballistic velocities. This vastly improves its performance against both kinetic and energy shielding.

Catalyst Blade
An officer's weapon, the Catalyst blade is a form of energy blade that captures an area of atmosphere within a field, and then triggers a constant, ultra-high frequency vibration. This can be amplified or reduced, with the ability to cut into unshielded tank armor at its highest, and badly disorient organic enemies and disrupt mechanical ones at its lowest. Additionally, it can be used to strike through shields, if activated within blade range while directly facing the shielded target, due to the field's extremely high frequency.

"Lookin' like a party."

"Cut the chatter, Falcon." The armored figure surveying Gambit's was little more than a faint blur in the air, peering from a rooftop several blocks away. His team, scattered across the roofs around the hot zone, were just as stealthed, appearing only as icons on his HUD. Clicking off the COMNET, Ethan Stone muttered to himself darkly. "Ryder would love this cluster fuck. Hell, throw fucking Exe into the mix with orders to start shooting."

The Steel Wolf captain clicked his transponder twice, checking the green status lights of his team's acknowledgment. So long as they could watch unseen, the safeties stayed on. Still...Ethan sent a coded burst to the Parking Lot, requesting fire support if things went to hell.

Just covering the bases.

Calling up the TACSAT on his HUD, Ethan studied the situation carefully, his frown deepening. Argus had confirmed general fire control, but looking at the situation, the man had but one very unprofessional word. Grumbling, he tapped secure lines and started making calls.

"Longsword and escorts, passive lines on one force. Lance and escorts, second. Do not shoot unless Aschen or allies are IDed, and keep your positions. Full stealth unless ordered otherwise. Turning you over to Breaker." Rapid eye flicks and blinks sent the battlegroups' links back to the Parking Lot for Ryder to deal with, while he tapped his AIM squadron dusting off. "Take off and go stealthed. Pick your targets but DO NOT FIRE. We're just eyeballing for Aschen or allies, Terran forces are off-limits. Com if situation alters."

The Steel Wolf captain closed his eyes for a moment, thinking hard. He now had mechs and cruiser groups eyeballing things under stealth, targets lined but safeties on. And of course, his squad sitting in the danger zone.

Slipping into Gambit's from the side alley, Ethan cast a look around the room for the first time, at least without a helmet plate between it and him. The Steel Wolf Captain was off duty, and despite the lack of armor, he still managed to carry a sense of solidarity with him. His flak-vest hung over his power armor liner like an out of place accessory, but he'd be damned if he was giving up his Harbinger even off the clock.

Glancing at the other in the room, he slid the compact rifle to his side before stepping to the counter and browsing the selection.

The lean soldier twitched, silencing his implants alarms with a mental trigger. Being an expensive asset meant getting hooked up with machines, and some of the things they found the time to stick in you...

Tapping an order for a shot of whiskey, Ethan glanced at the only other in sight, the female soldier. He recognized her, from Jet's little jaunt, although he himself had been in power armor at the time. "You're the SEAL, right? Jet mentioned you."

"Name's Ethan. Easier to ask questions than point sensors at me, and less headache for me to boot."

"Steel Wolf. Basically gene therapy you, put about 25 grand in computers and systems in you, and then give you a suit of power armor and there I am." Stone took his drink from the robot tender, tossed it back, and signaled for a glass of the stuff. He looked at Katelyn, studying her face with his dark, azure eyes. His face seemed etched, unmarred but for a long white line along the left side of his jaw.

"Found your team yet? Jet mentioned you found one of the Terran doors."

"Broadening horizons. Nice." Ethan tapped idly at the counter, rather astonished by how boring things seemed without the overlaid HUD of his helmet. "Sort of place you guys looking for? Wing City's not the best place to go looking for real estate, at least from a military perspective. Too many damned militaries running around this place."

"Too true. And I'm starting to get sick of watching it change hands, but order are orders." The Steel Wolf shrugged, glancing at the newcomers and giving them once-overs. A wolf with a gun and some other human soldier, nothing special.

"If it wouldn't be too forward, might have a spot to offer you. It's a little close to our own base, an observation post we left standing after it became redundant." Ethan took a holoprojector from one of his vest pockets and set it on the counter, connecting it with his implants. A small three dimension representation of a pair of smaller outbuildings around a fair sized bunker, a short tower sprouting out of the roof.

"Up for grabs, not too far from here, and I can send a message saying you're moving in."

Ethan smirked, about to respond when some spooky supernatural flashy entrance happened. He regarded it mildly, unimpressed, and shook his head.

"Sorry about that. Actually, it's about ten miles due north from here. Should have mentioned our Terran presence." Shrugging, he twisted his hand around the holo, zooming in and triggering a cutaway view. "Two joint barracks rec-centers and a CP. We took down the vehicle shed but the lift equipment and pieces are still there."

"You mean how to get there? Where's the gear that needs moving?" Ethan had been under the assumption it was in the local area already.

"Well you could driv-" Ethan clapped his mouth shut far too late. Open relations may not have yet opened, but Rain had been keeping its eye on its origins for a long, long time. And giving the long transit times, gates had been set up to speed up the process.

Gates who's existence was not yet declassified. "Oh shit."

"Um. Well. This is a bit of a bind, classified-wise." Ethan thought fast, trying to figure out how to say this without technically breeching any classified data. "Theoretically, I might have a method in which you could drive or fly your vehicles and heavy gear from Earth to a location very close to the observation post much, much faster than a ship could fly the distance. I would have to have a chat with-"

The captain cocked his head as the audio-transceiver behind his ear murmured. "Nevermind. Basically, I'm saying I have a teleport gate you could use. There are non-disclosure forms required for the time until they no longer need apply.

"Alright. You have an email address? Easier to just wire you coordinates and the forms."

Ethan consulted his implants, cobbling together the coordinates of the gate on Earth, the address for the Terran gate, generated non-disclosure forms, and then compressed the group into a datapacket and wired it out.

Blinking rapidly, he thought for a moment. "There's a lake. Not too familiar with it, but I do know its pretty big."

"It'll do. The forms, well, the gate operators will make sure they're filled out before anything goes through. Just make sure they give the right address, or I can't say for certain where they'll come out."

Ethan shuddered a bit in memory, for he'd made that mistake once. One digit off and he ended up half a galaxy the wrong way. He personally hated the gates.

"Not a problem. Pleasure to help, and I'll likely see you around, Katelyn." With that, the Steel Wolf rose, nodded, and headed from the room.

"Hit hit hit."

The call was short, brief, and within five helmets, silent. Ethan burst in through the side alley in armor, adaptive camouflage flickering at the scenery change before fading from sight. Two of his team used the other entering soldiers as cover, their flanking movements preserving their own camo from exposure.

"Steed and Sword, hold flanks. Take 'em if they engage, mind the friendlies. Hawk and Dragon, I do not want uninvited guests. Let me go figure out who the hell is shootable in this fucking mess." Ethan Stone slipped forward like a ghost for the familiar sight of Katelyn, calling out as he nudged down his camo. "Kate. Don't shoot."

"How can we help?"

"Keep cover and eyes on the ones with guns. I'm guessing the pyro's a threat." Ethan regarded the situation for a moment, eyeballing Steed's and Sword's takes. "Alright. Plan is to withdraw and negate threats. If it ain't shooting, don't shoot it."

"Take the firestarter." Ethan didn't switch from broadcast to TEAMCOM before raising his Harbinger. Selecting his launcher, Stone locked onto the fiery soldier, seeing his team do the same. "Three. Two. Take."

Three Steel Knights fired their MPMSG rounds at the single target, the rounds spinning off six micro smart grenades each just before the blast. Their shields flickered in response to the explosions, but the men didn't even flinch as their rounds sailed in on target straight through the inferno.

Ethan couldn't help but feel pity as 18 high velocity bombs converged on Mstislav.

Ethan's camo simply vanished, the armored figure glowered at Preston. "Steed, Sword, cover these soldiers. Death's Breaths. Mist 'em if they shoot."

"At least we tried Kate." The Steel Wolf captain stalked over towards Preston, his own Harbinger not quite leveled at the group.

"Why the fuck are we not taking those tangos out?"

"This is such..." Ethan chopped off his words and gestured at his two Wolves. The two slowly withdrew around the soldiers, clearly unhappy to be leaving. The captain was about to leave when he heard someone mention ISSP. The Wolf ghosted to the side and camo'ed, shooting a message to Kate's wristpad via his helmet com.

Out in a second. Eyeballing something.

Stone watched the woman, Keiko, knowing the ISSP from briefings as a Taiyou asset, and given Rain's state of hostilities with Aschen, he wanted to see why she was here.

"Oh fuck us."

Hawk's voice came over TEAMCOM and Ethan brought up his view, his sniper looking at the Authority forces. The Wolf cursed in the privacy of his helm, reluctant to leave but unwilling to leave his boys and Kate's team out in the open. He slipped from the bar and dropped his camouflage, striding up to Kate while signaling his two on the ground to bring up their armor tags.

Doing the same, he glanced at Kate. "If they ask, we linked up for the removal of a threat. Exfil on the way?"
