Fragment

"My mind remained. That's all there is to it, really."

0 · 151 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Tearen Wover, as played by RolePlayGateway

Groups

The VARIAtech Consulate is an enigmatic entity that is from some place outside of known space. They function both as a company and a sovereign nation, meddling with mundane affairs of the Multiverse from behind the scenes for an unknown purpose...

Description

Fragment appears as an agreeably attractive young man, who tends to look a little on the younger side. His features are streamlined and fierce, with a hint of italian heritage in them. He has a short, pointed nose and full pouting lips that contrast interestingly with his otherwise gaunt, exotic face. He tends to wear a small patch of fuzzy hair on his chin, which seems to be largely neglected. He wears a stylish tan cap over wavy, unkempt hair which falls just below his ears. His body is skinny and lithe, but not necessarily weak looking, though he is in no way in top shape. His eyes are a deep glowing ultraviolet color, denoting his otherworldly nature.

His clothes are dark and foreboding as well, as he tends to wear a shined leather biking jacket over a simple black long-sleeve shirt with a short zip at the top. His pants are usually a dark blue or grey, with abundant pockets and a baggy appearance over well broken-in hiking sneakers. Fragment also wears several pieces of jewelry, from a shattered black onyx pendant around his neck to a small silver ring on his right hand. His posture is held with dignity, always in an upright manner that denotes confidence and a formal bearing.

The door to Gambit's bar would slowly open and close, a rather well dressed young man pacing slowly into the bar. He had a melancholy look on his pensive face, with the thin iris of his left eye shimmering a pure blue. He looked around the bar, heaving a small sigh before running a hand across his face and sitting down at the counter purposefully. The waiter bots seemed to ignore his presence, and he made no attempt to order drinks. He merely sat at the bar, hands folded with a look of drawn concern.

A cool air would blow into the bar along with a seemingly innocuous young man. His cap was drawn low over his eyes, and he walked with an almost solemn gait towards the bar counter. He sat there rather uneventfully, fingers laced as he rested his mouth against them. It was of slight interest that all of the automated services of the bar seemed to ignore his existence; indeed his entire character tended revolve around being nothing to be concerned about.

He seemed content to simply sit and stare at the far wall, waiting for something he perhaps believed would eventually come...

The young man didn't seem to take any initiatives from Markuss's advice. The only reaction was his muttering something inaudible into his hands and narrowing his eyes slightly, one of which shimmered a cool blue color around the iris for a fleeting instant...

The man's eyes traced the straw paper through the air on it's fluttering, meandering journey. It did a very complex maneuver, wherein it folded itself in half in mid flight and changed it's trajectory back in the direction it came. The waste fell silently to the floor, about half way between the man and the girl who had blown it. The young man sat still for a moment, before shuddering slightly and silently getting up from his seat. Without so much as a word, he bent over, gingerly picked up the paper, and deposited it in a nearby trash bin. Having completed the task, he once again to his post, moodily sitting back down and assuming his previous position...

Even the stalwartly introspective young man at the bar turned slightly to regard the sudden entrance of some kind of dystopian super soldier. Terrible sense of fashion. Then again, most military organizations these days did. Regardless, after ascertaining that the newcomer (no matter how heavily armed) was probably harmless, the young man saw fit to turn back to his previous ruminations, glowing eye slowly fading back to a more normal appearance.

...and so his observations ended. He'd observed much in his time here regarding the current state of the multiverse and how the tides were changing. Satisfied that there was nothing else for him to do here tonight, the young man simply faded out of sight...

The silent young man a few seats down saw fit to delay his ruminations for a moment, casting a quick glance at Niek out of the corner of his eye. An eye which, though it was hard to tell in daylight, gave the slightest of ultraviolet glows...

It was apparent that the young man's curiosity had been piqued at this point, giving a sidelong glance at Dremond, his eyes giving of that strange luminance once more. He rested his chin on clasped hands, anticipating hearing the rationalization of such a long period of existence...

A few moments passed after the final bolt clicked into place on Gambit's dimensional door. The young man seemed content to merely return Niek's gaze for the time being, mouth hidden behind clasped hands. The ultraviolet light flickered on and off in his right eye at seemingly random intervals, the iris seeming to blink rapidly at certain points...

A few more moments passed, the man's eyes slowly flickering before he turned back to stare in the direction he had been. Right at the point at which it seemed as if he wouldn't say anything at all, he spoke in a low, husky voice.

"I would have postured that an individual such as yourself with an admittedly uncommon knack for situational rhetoric would not need to take such a self-aggrandizing stance towards the fleeting curiosity of a peer." he said softly and conclusively. He kept his gaze stalwartly focused on the shelves of booze beyond.

"You're smarter than the average patron around here. More perceptive, at least. It's just a refreshing change of pace." he said, still keeping his gaze seemingly focused on some incredibly important thing lightyears away.

"It wouldn't seem obvious to go to a bar to look for ghosts, either. Yet here I am." he said, shrugging slightly.

"Not to seem terribly cliche'd or anything..." he said, his eyes taking on a weary expression for a moment, "...But in regard to what my name is...I don't know. Call me whatever." he said furtively.

The stranger simply shied away from the dragon's touch, casting it a quick sidelong glance with his eyes shimmering ultraviolet. He kept staring at out of the corner of his eye to see if it would make any further attempts to touch him, which he would do his best to evade as nonchalantly as possible. Real exciting, this one.

A cool wind would blow into Gambit's bar, and with it, a sullen looking young man. He was dressed rather stand-offish, toting a black biker's jacket with dark grey khaki cargo pants. He wore a lowly drawn newsboy cap pulled tightly over his dark brown waves. It was hard to get a direct look at his face since his gaze was cast downward, but those who did might not the strange ultraviolet light his right eye seemed to glow with every now and again.

With silent, determined strides, the young man walked towards the bar and took a seat next to the young journalist, leaning forward on the counter and pressing his face into clasped hands. He made no initiative to make an order of any kind, nor acknowledge the bar maid. He simply sat furtively staring off into space...

"The first designation is subjective. The second is inaccurate. I'd advise a revision to your notations." the young man said softly, keeping his gaze focused intently ahead. It wasn't really much of a concern to him how he or anyone else was portrayed, but he felt compelled to comment anyway. His intrusive compulsion for empathetic reasoning often overcame his desire to be left alone in that regard.
