"Ah, well, Naria said something about you taking these things lighter than they were, so how about I help you sit down somewhere? No use in exerting yourself, right?" Said the Elf, pretty concerned for only meeting her. Most of this was because he'd been put in charge of her, but there was a definite part of him that cared for another intelligent being.

The elf blinked at her last question. "Yeah...yesterday. Doctor Lee had a hard time trying to figure out how to treat you, I heard...not sure if she succeeded."

"I don't know. I'm not even sure if she bothered to treat you. I heard whispers about your body being really...really strange. Um...here, let me just," he went up to Hope and attempted to slip one hand around her waist and take her hand to slide it over his shoulder, having her lean on him a bit, hopefully, "...take you this way, and we can sit down and talk, okay?"

The words 'fiancé' rang in his head distantly. It was such an odd thing, to hear that people got engaged and married in this world. It never happened in Gadget. He doubted anyone had even gotten pregnant yet, due to the virus. "Here, you can get to them in a little while, right?" He said as he tried to place her onto a shadowy bench just outside of a large orange tent.

"Not actually human? Well, that makes sense. I'm only a bit human myself," he explained, though, by all means, he should have been human. It was his right, but no sense in speaking of it now. "Not your actual shape? What is, then? Shouldn't you change into the shape where you'll heal better?"

"No...I won't tell a soul. Promise." It was hard to tell if the Elf was sincere or not, what with his tone of voice. He narrowed those baby-blue eyes and sucked in his lips nervously. "Ah...not sure what war you're talking about. There's about five that I know of going on, but alright. Go ahead and do what you must." He gave her a small grin.

"Yeah. Goggles are always trustworthy, hm?"

"Really, then? That's interesting, I never knew...knew...whoa, whoa, whoa!" Cried the elf, backing up as the previously short girl landed on four paws and was suddenly very hairy. He nearly fell backwards over the bench, but being elven and all, he simply couldn't do something like that.
However, that cat was gigantic.

"So...that's your real form, eh? Wow. Goodness, you nearly gave me a heart attack."

The elf nearly topped over again as she nudged him. He had to thank his elvish grace, even if he cursed it at other times. "Wow. Um. So, I suppose you can't talk in that form?" He asked, amazed at how...how big she was! Cats didn't normally get that big, did they? No, not even radiated ones!

"I would ask you not to eat me..."

"Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want. Er...if that was laughing. Yeah," he said, looking out into the crowd (that avoided or looked with wide eyes at Hope) as they passed by. Such things, like a giant cat, usually didn't phase them. They'd seen plenty.
But this was...huge.

One figure with a long ponytail came out of the crowd, hair swinging over his shoulder. "Gian!" He yelled, waving a paper. "Gian! Where's...gyaaah!" he screamed as he nearly ran into the cat.

"Wh....wh-wh-what is...that?"

The door flew open, revealing a short young man with large, heavenly blue eyes and pointed ears. However cute this boy looked, however, one could tell he had some sort of fire burning within him. He was of a temperamental sort, and it showed as he glared around the bar, dark brows furrowing over blue orbs. He broodily made his way past the shapeshifter, the cat boy, the crazy girl, and the small black creatures without a glance.
It was just...too normal to even take notice of anymore.

The elf turned, simply just feeling those eyes on him. He turned slowly, planting his eyes onto the...the man with the ears. And a tail. Well, as if that wasn't strange enough. Not like his own pointed ears weren't a bit awkward, but why was this lad just staring?

"Got a problem?" Asked Gian, an edge to his voice.

The elf grunted under the high collar of his shirt, giving the cat boy a horrible glare before shifting his position to turn around. He paused, catching sight of the girl that seemed to be petting cat boy's...tail. She looked familiar. Very familiar. In fact, the elf knew her very well. She even addressed him.

"I can see that, Hope." Said Gian, his demeanor softening just the slightest bit. He knew what that girl could do. Turn into some kind of large cat.

The young elf was not accustomed to physical contact other than the occasional punch and shove from his his team members, therefore, when he was hugged, it simply became very awkward. He didn't quite know how to respond. "I've been well. Got knocked around by a Scraper a few days back, but I think I've recovered," he told her. "We've had a few new members come by, but nothing too horrible. Gadget is well. Who's Rach and Sprog?" He asked, jumping from one subject to the next.

"Sound exactly like Gadget kids..." muttered Gian. A little girl who loved grenades and a boy who loved guns? Sounded like the lovechildren of Cortez and Tora. Which would be creepy, in a way. Cortez was a bit old. Twenty-six was old.

"Sound like really sweet...ah...kids. I'm sure the rest of Gadget would love them. Just make sure Min isn't around when you take them." He informed her. Min would blow her top if she saw little kids running around with guns!

"Right. You're a mother. I keep forgetting because...well, you look my age. But you're like a bajillion and one, right? Don't correct me. The exaggeration is purposeful." He said, nodding. When speaking to Hope, it was much harder to retain his little bad-boy, sour image. It messed terribly with his pride, it did. At least Jack and Ace weren't there to tease him about it. Made things a whole lot easier.

"I'm sure you'll get used to it. They're fairly young, aren't they? You don't get real problems until they're teenagers, like Tommy and myself. Then you get into trouble. Heh."

"The 'system?' I'm not sure if I want to ask, but I suppose being around a lot of humans might teach them something. You're welcome whenever, remember. Naria gave you safe passage through her name. Almost no one can deny you unless it's Grennel or Min themselves. Leaders, you know? They have all the power. Ah...have you met them yet? Grennel, right? Muscular guy?" He asked, tightening his arms, trying to express the extent of the man's bulk. And failing.

"Someone like you doesn't look like they'd raise anyone that was too...unstable. Too unstable, I mean."

"Grennel is certainly nice. Min is..." he trailed off, shaking his head. "But yeah, a few days is alright." He said. Yesterday was inspection, so everything was alright. Everything was calm and not as...hectic with the machinery as it was days before.

"Rocky? Ah...I...ah, see." He said. He didn't know too much about marrying and problems with that sort of thing. No one in Gadget was married. There were a few couples, and of course there were those who liked to sleep around, but nothing had really gotten serious between two people that he knew of. That, and he'd never found himself fancying a girl. Another thing that was alien to him. "I'm sorry to hear that."

The elf extended a hand and patted Hope on the shoulder. "In time. Whatever happens, things will get better. Not that I know much but...it has to, right? It has to." That's what the average Gadget member thought. Their mindset was that if you survived through something long enough and did something about it, things were bound to get better. It was impossible not to.
Hopefully, anyway...

Again, the hug, one which the elf was still not accustomed to. It would take Hope a while for him to be returning that amount of affection. He smiled, however, and nodded to her. "You're not supposed to be the one buying. I'll do it," he told her, moving to the counter. "What would you like?"

"So, didja hear? We got a new guy last night." Came the voice of the Korean scout, who went by the name Jack. He was very famous in the came. Very...infamous...as well. For many things. Atop his head of mullet-like, spiky black hair was a pair of aviator goggles. The same could be said for his short elven friend, who had much floppier hair, but goggles all the same.

"Yeah. Freaky guy, had glowing blue eyes. Someone said they saw his tent light up in blue, too, at night. What's his deal?" Said Gian, sitting on a bench outside his tent and cleaning the lenses of his goggles with spit and elbow grease. Almost literally.

Gadget was busy today, what with their cleaning up and the lot. The plethora of brightly colored hair and skin colors ran about. The other day an alien had come down and Naria had been the first to come in contact. Exciting.

"Oh, well look who it is," said Gian, getting up and walking towards the group of three. He had a light smile on his face concealed by a scarf. "Hello, Hope. You certainly did bring them by. Yes, it's fine. Just have to tell Grennel that both you and them swung by. Never a problem." He said, looking up at the small boy with the green Mohawk, grinning up at him. "You must be Henry." He said.

Jack, of course, ran over, completely ecstatic. "Kids! I haven't seen little kids since I was one! Tommy and the other one don't count. They're too old." He bent down in front of the little girl, eyes glistening. "Hello. Who are you? I'm Jack. Don't you look so pretty with your hair?"

"Yup. I work part-time for Santa. That's how I know your name, Henry. Have you really been good? Not running away from mommy and doing bad things, have you?" Gian teased, grinning. On any other occasion, he would have been fuming to hear the word "Santa" and "Elf." From Henry, it seemed like it was completely alright.

"Aw...what? Scary man! I'm not scary! I'm actually really nice. You see?" He said, trying to smile down at her nicely. He then tried to pat her on the head gently. "I'm not bad."
