Kharid

Misranian Terran, rebel and dragon rider.

0 · 293 views · located in The Bluff

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Gasmask

Description

Image
Kharid is a shabby man with nothing to his name. His life was sold to him with a price; to bear the chain throughout his life. He is a troublemaker within the rebellion, he rides a dragon, and is a very cunning manipulator with a criminal past( Like all good manipulators and dragon riders ). Kharid also has a very Arabic-like accent.

Image
Kamakina or "Eruca Dragon"

A very large dragon with brown scales with soft black spots around the wing area which have been strengthened with strong metal-like alloy; It bears little resemblance to the other dragons on Misrana, looking more like it's brothers on Terra than it does to the the more traditional Kamakina.

Crank bears all the cybernetics and rockets that it's smaller cousins have. With the addition of a larger rockets on either side of it's hind quarters and some very nasty metal teeth. The harness bears a light caliber machine-gun behind it for dealing with other dragons and more hooks and straps than usual to keep Kharid on it's back.

Image
Kharid carries a black face-bandana, dragon-riding goggles made out of steel and thick glass, a crooked knife in his belt and a pistol hooked to his waist. A dragon-whistle with audio-amplifier and of course his signature weapon.

The Chain; A jagged and spiked chain wrapped around Kharid's right arm that is linked to Kharid. Any pain that would befall the chain he feels, it is Un-removable and animate. Shattering it would kill Kharid and it generates length when needed. Kharid can use it as a whip too.

So begins...

Kharid mockingly stepped back, raising his hands. "Well fuck me, ain't you an armored lass? We could use one of you back in Misrana." Kharid said, putting his hands on either side of his belted body. "What type of ship you pilot? I ask, because there ain't much use to conventional pirate ships anymore." Kharid added, giving her a proper look-over this time.

Heh. They were more alike than he thought. "Rider of the scalies upstairs, myself." Kharid replied, folding his arms as he walked closer and leaned on the counter so he didn't have to raise his voice. "You sound pretty hardy for a woman, and your crew sound a bunch of idiots and cowards, I got a proposition for you." Kharid said, his thick arabic-like accent getting louder.

"You ever heard of Misrana?" He said, getting to the point.

Kharid was starting to like this pirate, even though, he'd never got her name first. Better, honest deals were made that way as Kharid thought. "We go and assist the rebellion over there, pillaging supremacy cities, killing supremacy people and..." He gestured with a fist pump.

"Stealing more gold than you could get from the stuck-up bastards here with the occasional gadget if we find any. The rebellion would probably pay us too."

Never-mind the fact that he already worked with the rebellion.

Kharid threw some of the grimy dreadlocks out of his eyes, revealing bloodshot brown ones. "I ain't in it for the freedom either, I'm all for the gold and blood, friend. And to answer your question, you fuckin' do you mangy pirate. A good one too, so that's why I'm infront of you, asking for a deal." Kharid laughed. "You'll be the one givin' orders, we just gotta strike at the supremacy targets and the rebels would leave us alone and even reward us for causing as much trouble as we could. Before you say it, I ain't Misranain, I'm Terran." Now that was a half-truth.

Kharid gave a look to the two newcomers, they certainly did look too well enough.

"I woudn't be able to do this on my own."

"Local planet, so abroad. It's on one of the maps around here; A partnership works too." Kharid replied with a chuckle. "You still got your ship, correct? I can hook us up with some upgrades in Misrana, they've got gear like you woudn't believe." Kharid added, stepping up and offering her a lopsided handshake with his right arm, which was wrapped in some form of jagged chain.

"Ah, fuck." Kharid replied, suddenly looking very disjointedness. He understood her reasons for declining. "Then, how about we just agree to a partnership for drinking then?" Kharid counter-offered, putting on a smile.

"Ah, fuck no, it ain't gonna be in space, it's going to be down on the planet. Y'know with a sky, and the other dragons." The dragons could be a deal-breaker, but even a manipulator like Kharid was sure he better put it all in the open. "We get ya ship over to Misrana and operate there, was what I was meaning." He said, dumping a whole load of mead down his gullet.

"I love space, but there ain't much use in piracy there."

Kharid breathed an inward sign of relief. The dragon rider spotted a small child and stood up; raising his voice and shouting at Twirl. "Get the hell out!" It was more to protect the kid from the patrons than to be mean. He then sat back down and grinned. "Nice shot, and if we've got a deal, we better shake on it and introduce ourselves. It don't feel right either way."

He extended a hand and waited on her name,

"Kharid. Last-name was taken from me. You know what I do too." The man replied, emptying his mug of alcohol and laughing. "Tomorrows a good idea, I'll organize the trip tomorrow, short jaunt with a space carrier with yer' ship, my dragon ain't here with me now so there's that." He flagged down the tender for more rum for both him and her.

"You got enough rum to last you the trip?"

"The one that likes to get drunk when she's in space so she forgets she's there, or do you like space now Darkrayne?" He answered her question with another one, directly poking fun of the pirate. "Kharid was the best my parents could come up with, got me all sorts of crap during schoolin' with what little I got." Kharid laughed. Darkrayne, what a name.

"I don't think spaceships have cabin boy's, but you're welcome to try and find one." Kharid replied, glancing at Twirl with a raised eyebrow. He gestured towards the kid and gave his new pirate partner a look that said: "What's going on there?""

Kharid got up and sighed to himself, the junk in his rattling in the air as he walked over to Twirl and bent down to see her face-to-face. "You look worse than I do, and I'm covered and dirt and I'm pretty sure look like I'm about to kill someone, what's your excuse, kid?"

"Well you see, I ain't got no money, and that snake guy was talking to you, you should talk to him about getting some food, he looks rich as hell." Kharid replied, taking a step back. "Nice to meet you, now go talk to him, otherwise you ain't eatin'." Kharid took another step back before leaving the pub to go steal somebodies bed.

Kharid snorted on the bar counter as he awoke. The rider wiped his nose and mouth with his wrist and looked up at the clock mounted on the wall of the pub and sighed. Kharid was meant to be awake in a few hours and ready to travel across the plains and back to Misrana. "That ain't no hookah, friend." He loudly announces to Tybalt. Of course he referenced a smoking implement.

That reminded him, where was his hookah?

Kharid entered the bar, rubbing the dirt from his cheeks and taking a seat at the counter. The rider ordered a dozen caskets of Sake and regarded the two others around him. Children? No.

Too well dressed for that./

Kharid threw the first cask's contents down his throat. The man tapped the table in irritation, it's sting leaving an after-effect like no other in his throat. The rider turned his head towards Samantha and smiled rather groggily.

Kharid skirted the edge of the street, dirty dreadlocks dancing in the misty morning. The rider looked out of place in such a modern city, luckily his mighty steed was nowhere to be seen, or was even on the planet. Kharid stopped just short of a bus-stop and sat down, leaning forward to stare at the list of times and stops that the transports disembarked their sheepy workers and allowed his passage.

Wing City was not for him, far too much...

Civility.

"No, and you'd look out of place where I come from, especially with that jacket." Kharid replied, leaning back on the stop. The boy looked way too smooth and operator-like for such a city, his voice too, like he dealt with all kinds of people. The kind of people that weren't really people. At least that's what Kharid saw when he realized this was the owner of the pair of eye's he felt on him a few seconds ago.

"Kharid, and yours?"
