The woman tilted her head to the side. "Oh?" she said, and her lips stayed frozen as she pursed them to make the vowel. She leaned her chin onto her knee. "And how are you going to do that?"

She would not allow him to answer, because yet again was the woman rambling about the things she had done in the last few weeks. "You know, touch is quite nice, as well. For the first time I was able to feel warmth, and not just the one from the fire, but the warmth of a mans skin against my own. It was a truly enchanting experience. I see now why you physical beings are so easily manipulated. It feels good, it really does!" she said, and again she went on. "I kissed him, too, and I admit that was also quite nice. I wish to do it again, but next as a man. I wonder if its any different that way. I thought I knew all about desires, but its completely different first-hand. I like it."

For the moment, she paused, looking at Lexi and Senzei. She sighed, then tucked the feather back into her bosom pocket. "But you take it all for granted, don't you? Most times. Poor things."

"You think I don't understand that? I haven't gotten this far because I was powerful. I got this far because I am intelligent," she shot back, but she never made an ugly face. She seemed eternally pleased. "This isn't a mockery of life. Are you so blind? I love it. I never wish for life to cease! Why, life is a most splendorous thing! If only I had life all to my own all the time!" she called, standing up onto the pillar and spinning in a circle with her arms in the air, laughing again.

"I will stop when I want and what I want! That is what I love so much about life! Your choices breeds consequence, and consequence is never always a bad thing! Now...listen, listen, you two. And listen close, now! Lean in!" she called, bending her knees. She seemed giddy.

"I learned of Christmas, and I like it. Gift-giving, who woulda thought, by a fat man! We didn't have celebrations like this where I"m from. But I want to give you two something." At this, she looked at Lexi.

"I'm going to give you...something you've wanted a long time. And you-" She looked to Senzei. "I'll give you your feather back. And more. I just want one thing in return, okay?"

She made sure they had been listening. She made sure they knew. She was absolutely quiet for a few moments, just looking between them. Then, she took a breath.

"Okay, so, it's going to be a bit weird, okay? Alright, so..." She stood up again, splaying her arms out. "Catch me, alright? Oh, promise to catch me!"

With that, she jumped, and Senzei, indeed, would have to catch Lexi's body so it would not break.

As the woman fell into his arms, the flowing gown following behind her, as if it were a cloud of night, she huffed, laughing as she tucked her face underneath Senzei's neck. She hugged him close, and at first, she could not feel any ill effects from the holy aura. The woman closed her eyes and inhaled, taking in the warmth of his body, his smell, and finally, the sound of a beating heart. A genuine smile painted her lips.

Like a knife stabbed through her back, the woman staggered and gasped, her eyes laying wide. She felt her own heart quicken as Lexi came close, and, as it beat for Mohatmas for the last time, she giggled, coughed, and died.

At the same time, the wail of the cat that had brushed by the couple rang out, and the same cat could be seen laying in the grass, also dead.

"Keep guard, since I can't do it," came Mo as that same blonde man from before with the bright blue eyes and strong features. He smiled at John. "Troubles, friend?" He looked down at himself. "oh, well dammit! I forgot I can't take this form anymore. He's real now." Scowling, the man's features began to change.

In no time, he was a slight Asian woman that was shorter than John by at least a foot. "I can't quite figure out what's happened. I went back to the meat locker one more time, leaving my body behind. It was cleaned out. Completely." She narrowed her eyes.

"No trace at all."

"I'm not sure. I do not think they were made to kill, John," said the small woman, sitting on the bed beside him. Very little heat came from her body. Feign heat. "But that is my concern. Why were they hooked up? They were like...alarms. A necromancer's version of bells hanging from the ceiling. They couldn't move really well. But..." She lowered her voice.

"That thing that threw the corpses out of the door...that's what I'm worried about. If those were just alarms, then what could the attack force be? I can think of horrible things, John, but I can't determine exactly what that horrible thing might be."

Leaning her back onto John's side, Mo groaned. "I don't like people who are more clever than me. I have an assassin on the job, though. His name is Felix. He can go in corporeal and teleport, so he's perfect for this. As for Zaria..." Mo shook her head.

"I don't know. The Glen or the Ruins, possibly. I can wrap her in dreams and illusions, but dead things aren't easily fooled by these things. Oh, and Merry Christmas. I note you hadn't had a good one."

"I can do little. I will not, on any accounts, be making any more dreams come true. Not until circumstances are right for it. I have made too many mistakes, and they are under the process of erasing. A very laborious process, mind you." scowled the woman, her features distorting.

"But that is not something for you to know. What I can do...is use as much help as I can from acquaintances. Unfortunately, I'm not in a spot where I can be with you for long. I don't know who this necromancer is, and I fear for the cat body." She quirked a brow.

"Not that it's that important. It's just that you can't find a lot of able bodies without a soul these days. All the people in coma's are...organ doners. And have lives and people they know. The cat has no one important to them that can't move on.

"In any case. There is one girl down by Solinus Sea. She's not like me, though she's a spirit. A female one. Talk to her. She might be able to help you. Her name is Siana."

From up above, upon the roof's of the buildings, a brown cat leaped, watching the couple. He narrowed his eyes, flicking his tail. "Interesting," he said to himself, the voice a deep and powerful baritone. "Merry Christmas, Lexi. I hope you like your present."

The blonde nodded. "Ah, I see. That makes sense. I believe...I believe I'm in the same position. I can't be sure. Ah...yeah. It's hard to get out of Wing City."

Indeed, someone did follow her in. A tall blonde man with strong features and bright blue eyes. Probably with a German heritage. He put his hands into his pockets, clenching his fists to allow the heat to spread into his fingers. He did the same as Lexi and stomped the snow from his shoes, then rolled back his shoulders.

"I've not been here before, but I've heard of it. Ryan is a bit...too fond of the place. I choose Canti's instead, really." He looked around. "Doesn't look too bad, though."

"Hot cocoa? Thought something a bit heavier might have worked. How about harder cider?" he asked, walking up to the counter beside her. He took his hands out of his pockets, looking over the menu. Of course, it was on there. And he ordered it.

"Not too busy right now, no. I hear it can get that way, too. And very...dangerous." He looked back to the menu. Something caught his attention, but he looked away quickly. Those strange things again.

"Um...not anywhere certain. We were just walking. Ryan does that quite a lot. At least, lately." he told her. He looked about her face curiously. She felt like she should have been familiar, but he wasn't sure. He knew he had never seen her before. Maybe...certainly in passing. Certainly. It had to be that, right?

Through the window, a cat peeked through. A large, brown, fat cat. His eyes blinked slowly. Leon placed his head in his hands, struck suddenly by a headache that faded too quickly.

"I noticed," said the spirit. "And I'm not a shapeshifter. I'm an illusionist. Try to touch me. I dare you." She eyed him. If he did, his hand would go right through her skin. He would feel something like heat come from her, but only because energy was being used to cause the power to occur. Like all energy did.

"Why I wanted to pay you a visit? Because I thought I might check on you. I need a favor done. Body guarding. I can't do it." she said, looking at Fedelia, then to Rick. She quickly changed again, this time into an unfamiliar young showgirl in a white shift. "This one." She quickly changed into a man this time. It was John, but the hat caused such a darkness about his face that he would not be able to be distinguished.

"And this one. Don't tell me you have anything better to do."

"You aren't the only one," he said, and, once more, and not for the final time, he changed, becoming a young, effeminate man with dark hair and olive skin. Someone he had seen here before, though the man was not entirely human at the time. He liked his look, so he adopted it as his own, this time with more flesh than machine.

"Remember, I can give you anything you want if you've done enough for me." Or, in the very least, make him think he had what he wanted.

--

Fedelia murmured and shifted, but moved no more. She looked entirely uncomfortable upon the seat. Perhaps she was...having a bad dream.

"Of course," she said, and her image shifted all at once. She wasn't able to be seen by others, anyway. She had made sure only John could see her. People would see the transformation only at the corner of their eye. They would have reason for distraction. Something else was currently happening, too.

Behind them, there was a loud, shrill scream. Turning, Mohatmas saw one of the women on the ground. It had been one of the nurses. She was bleeding. The pale one. One of the ceiling tiles was moved to the side. Someone had made a quick escape.

"Sounds like trouble. Should we run, you think?"

As the gauze was applied, it almost seemed to...steam? The woman's skin was hot. Extremely so. More than any fever. It was almost impossible. Just barely.

"Don't do this Richard!" warned the spirit. Rick would be the wrong name to use. They were after Rick's this time. The police officer wiped his hand down his face. Damn humans! "Fine! Get down quickly!"

---

Up above the ceiling tiles, the heat lay heavy and compact in the dusty area. It was very dark, and lots of metal pipes and the like wound its way int he small space. However, there was something in the distance. Glowing and white and skittering. It was also small.

The light moved, dodging to the right, and then left. Uneasy, it seemed to be. Skittish. Something clicked multiple times behind him.

Upon turning around, a face, with lips that extended to its ears in a too-many-toothed mouth, would greet him, blood dripping down its chin.

"Gothcaaaa."

They would fall, and the creature would have a hard time getting up. Of course it would, with all the legs it had. Though somewhat human in face, the body took almost nothing else from what it had been before. Human arms poked out from an insect-like body that was covered in clean, blood-drained skin. Legs like a spiders helped it lift up, but its second row of arms were like the arms of a praying mantis, sharp at the ends. A long tail extended in the back, with glowing lights at the end.

It looked at Rick hungrily, grinning wider as it skittered madly toward him.

The monster could not easily stop its momentum for its bulk, and even for its agility and many legs turning it around as Rick escaped past him, it slid on the ground, the claws-on-tile effect taking place with both the screeching sound and the never ending sliding. It snarled, trying to rush the man again.

This time, everyone who had not screamed and run before did so.

As if came close to Rick, pushing off with its back skitter legs, it...fell backward. As it crashed onto the ground, Fedelia could be seen holding onto its tail.

Fedelia looked to him, expression flat. "Just shoot it."

And, as the man did just that the creatures face shattered into three parts. Like a glass cannon, the thing fell to the ground, only crying out once more. It twitched, and fell silent. Fedelia didn't even notice she was holding onto it until she tore her eyes away from the bloodless piece of gore. She shook her hands.

"Eugggh."

Fedelia's hand came up to her head, running through her hair. That was terrifying. Not that she couldn't get away from it in a moment, but that it was there. And she touched it. Nasty.

"I'm fine!" she protested, feeling her skin. The thing was cold. Cold like ice. It drained the heat away from her body it was so cold. "But I don't think we should touch it."

One of the male nurses, the one from the other day, who had been helping Zaria, came and look at the mess. He threw his hands into the air. "Really? AHH!" he cried in dismay.
