Snow Anona smiled, amusedly by her sister's antics, though careful to keep her Light away from the sharp knives. "Hmm," she paused, thinking a moment before nodding. "Put this little pile of vegetables in the water and then... oof!"

Another hug and smile from Hope. Would they ever end? Not that she minded. It was nice to be reminded of the physical presence.

Ah. That question she had expected sooner, an answer already prepared. "Off world, to a place called Hurean. No one ever told me why they had taken me from you, just that it was 'necessary'." Her grip tightened on the knife's handle. "They said something about destinies and needing us both to be strong when we were needed most."

Hope Anona frowns darkly at this. "They were cruel and mean, and I ought to chop their toes off." She says asn she puts the pile into the water, before poking at it with a serving spoon.

"Madam Gregor always said destiny is a lod hoo-ey." She tells her twin, quite happily. "I think they were smoking hallucinogenics." She says, very firmly, as she sneaks a knife away from her twin and begins chopping up some vegetables."

She had seen what her twin was doing, the worrywart. It wasn't as if she couldn't handle a simple kitchen knife.

Snow Anona chuckled a little darkly at this, nodding. "I completely agree. I ached my whole life to be beside you," she confessed, grinning as Hope poked at the floating vegetables.

Destiny; a load of garbage? Snow decided she liked this Madam Gregor - she talked a lot of sense. "Ha! I daresay you are right," she agreed, frowning as a hand shot out to try and stop her twin from... Drat.

"Well, I suppose we're doing this together and a task shared is easier to complete," she relented, knowing that she really had no choice in the matter instinctively. Snow would protect Hope from all the dangers in the world that she could, but at the same time, wanted to share everything with her.

Hope Anona shrugs. "Mada Gregor almost always was. She was also the only instructor who was mean to me." She says with a shrug. That had been the way of her life. Buoyed up by one ro two, and shot down by all the rest.

"And it is isn't it." Hope says, her lips twitching. "Plus, even I'm not so clumsy as to-" She yelps and sticks her thumb in her mouth blushing. There was a reason she ate canned foods.

Snow Anona felt a little bit of resentment towards Madam Gregor but really, it was probably reasonable. A Light trying to make it in a Dark's world was almost unheard of. Hope would never have guessed it, but it was their rite of passage and the fact that she had endured said much about her twin's tenacity.

Snow had been about to tell her sister precisely this, turning her head as the other trailed off, her thumb suspiciously in her mouth. "Not clumsy enough to what?" the Dark commented with a smug smile. Told you so, she thought with satisfaction, setting her own knife down. "Over to the sink. Do you know if they hav... never mind."

After guiding her sister to the sink and making sure she kept her wounded thumb under the running cold tap, Snow shrugged her backpack off her shoulders, rummaging through it to drawn out a padded leather strip, wrapped a few times over. -c-

Snow Anona Unravelling it, it turned out to be a make-shift first aid kit. Next, she took Hope's smaller hand in hers, drying it as carefully as she could before applying a little anti-septic cream. It never hurts to be too careful, producing a surprisingly modern plaster and fastening it securing around Hope's thumb. "Now, you hyperactive little thing. Pay attention next time, alright?" she advised, not chiding, merely concerned. -e-

Hope Anona grins slightly. "Not clumsy enough to do exactly what I just did." She says as her sister tends to her cut. "And I'll be sure to pay attention next time." She tells ehr sister, not making it a promise at all.

She can't help but lean into her sister with a smile. "And I'm not hyperactive! Just happy."

Snow Anona descended the steps that led to Gambit's Hotel, a glance nervously coming over her shoulder. Hope would be fine. This was to test herself.

Spend some time away from her and then go back. She will still be there. You have to get this into your head, she told herself firmly.

Towards this endeavour, she began to approach the bar counter. Drink would help, no doubt.

Snow Anona had whiskey presented in front of her, taking a drink and sighing happily. It was a good feeling, the slight burning travelling down her throat and the immediate light-headed sensation that came with.

She seemed calmer than she had been yesterday, probably on account of things having chance to calm down.

Snow Anona barely recognised anyone in this plethora of people, wondering whether it was even worth getting to know any of them. Kendra she felt she could trust - the woman seemed to have quite an impression upon Hope. Not that she blame that; they were extremely alike in temperament.

Another swig of her whiskey and then she sighed. Everything was still up in the air. It was going to take some adjusting.

Snow Anona had observed the interaction between Hope and Akki without moving once, very pleased with herself. There, nothing bad had happened even without her obvious presence. Protection would only be necessary from threats.

Hope's conversation with Firemonger set her on edge though. Whatever had been said, the pyromancer had not been pleased with her twin, but had no idea why. She'd ask her sister later.

Snow Anona drank the rest of her second whiskey rather quickly. The training academy she had attended as a young one's fondness for drinking games had made her quite tolerant to alcohol on the whole.

Mostly, she drank socially. Drinking herself into a stupor had never held that much appeal to Snow, though she loved the taste.

Snow Anona had seen Ranpu. Of course she had; there was no pride in her ability as a protector if she couldn't notice one not so subtle man around. It appeared he wanted to be seen as well, walking with quite a swagger to him...

Snow Anona hadn't run. Fleeing implied discomfort with his presence. It was just... Then he was there and she decided not to ponder upon it, incling her head in a respectful nod.

The smirk made her smile slyly. Arrogant sod. "Greetings. Indeed; I thought our previous encounter may have halted you approaching me once more."

Snow Anona quirked an eyebrow but held her smile. Interesting fellow. "Well, that's... reassuring," she admitted haltingly. She could respect his tenacity easily.

For a moment, she seriously pondered his question, feeling her smile turn soft. "Well. I have calmed down from yesterday and things are finally making sense in my life, though there are quite a many questions," she said, turning slightly on her stool to face him.

Snow Anona was surprised by his civility, though in truth she really shouldn’t have been, barely knowing the stranger at all. “I… will, thank you. Just as soon as my sister makes a reappearance. Apparently she has a knack for pulling vanishing acts.”

His reply to her confused her somewhat, obviously not knowing who Shinta and Vex were, but nevertheless, her smile shifted to pleasant. “I’m glad, but allow me a question. What is ‘your thing’? I cannot guess what it is you do around here.”

Snow Anona felt like he was quite confuddling. His manners were quite impeccable, though she noted the nervousness in him as she posed her enquiry. Ah, she had hit a nerve.

It took a moment, but eventually Snow’s mouth fell open a little, stunned by his honesty.Evidently he was expecting a negative reaction from her. Not so; she was a fighter, brought up around men and women alike who harboured too much testosterone in their bodies than was right.

“I see; a disliked if likely fulfilling task,” she replied, smiling a little knowingly. “I like your honesty. You knew I might react negatively but told me anyway. That says much, Ranpu.”

Then she turned her attention to his other comment, fingers of both hands lacing about her glass. “It is a shame that your friends aren’t around. It is… good to spend time with those you are close to.”

Snow Anona looked sorry for Ranpu for a moment, sliding off her stool with a gesture towards an empty table. They could continue their conversation in reasonable comfort then. “You are not being a bother at all,” she replied, actually quite enjoying the conversation.

It was only when they were both seated that she would respond to his comments, using the time between places to think properly. “I can appreciate not feeling yourself when you are away from people you feel ‘right’ around,” she continued, setting her hands upon the table clasped together. The stance she set was friendly; approachable even.

Hope was obviously rubbing off on her. “Home is where the heart lies in my estimations. Where you feel yourself.”
