Fogsmarsh

Kaldon examined the strange crystal that he had pulled out of vein of ore. He had been mining this ore for the last six days for a specialty war hammer. The crystal was in a strange metal setting and had a green glow to it, while the ore he was mining was a sliver blue. He recognized it as one of the chaos keystones of legend. He had already sent word out to Prince Yevoc, that he had found a crystal, but didn't tell him exactly what it was, he knew Yevoc would figure it out.

He waited in his jungle home in Fogsmarsh for Yevoc, he figured it wasn't the best idea to go looking for Yevoc and take the crystal with him. He wasn't afraid of getting mugged, but he didn't want to risk loosing it.

Four figures approached Kaldon's home. A two human males, an elf female, and a male therian with the head of a Jackal. They all wore black leather armor with hoods except the elf woman who wore a black hooded wizard's robe. The humans where armed with a sword and shield, the therian with a large khopesh, and the elf held a staff.

The group moved closer to Kaldon's home the humans flanked the therian while the elf followed behind. The elf gave a nod and the Jackal therian drew back his Khopesh swinging it at the door to brake it down. Upon breaking the door the humans would rush in to try and overwhelm Kaldon.

Kaldon instantly grabbed the keystone as he heard the door break down. He saw the humans rush in and the others just outside the door. His cybernetic eye locked onto all the humans that rushed in and emitted separate laser blasts at each of them. He had set the laser to a stun setting. "What the hell?" He said as he pulled a drawstring hanging from the ceiling. A trap door opened up that lead out into the jungle. He knew that the keystone would bring enemies, but he didn't think it would be that soon.

Kaldon jumped and flew through the opening in the roof. He zoomed in on the others in the group with his implant and uploaded the image directly to his mind so he could get to it when he needed to. He flew off in the direction of Polara, He had to meet up with Yevoc soon or things could get much worse.

The humans took the shots and slumped to the floor. The jackal howled which alerted the elf to the fleeing Kaldon.
"Not so fast!" She yelled as she pointed her staff to the sky. Bolts of lightning arced from the staff towards the fleeing avian. The jackal leaped into the trees going from branch to branch with surprising speed. He would leap towards the avian attempting to grab him and drag him down before he could get to high.

The lightning bolt caught Kaldon's wing and he swerved and landed in a tree. He was going to have to take more drastic measures. He let out a flash from his cyber eye that was bright enough to temporarily blind anyone who saw it. He kept his normal eye closed while he did this so he didn't blind himself.

He took off once more hoping that the flash had worked. He flew off as fast as he could toward Polara. He went as high as he could so even if they did see him, they wouldn't be able to catch him, but given how dense the forest was, it wasn't likely anyone on the ground could see him through the trees.

The Jackal howled as he was blinded by the light the elf was saved by her magic and was able to at least catch the way the avian was heading. The jackal came to the elf rubbing his eyes. "Forgive me ...he got away ma'am"
"He was heading towards Polara from the look of it...I'll send word to the agents there if he does go there as I believe they will find him. Now back to his house...I want the place torn apart find any information we can" the elf said.

Kaldon got to the edge of the city before he landed. He was worried that one of the cultists might have seen the way he was headed. He remembered the contingency plan he had always had when he went on adventures with Yevoc.

"If things ever go off the rails, go to Meadhold." Yevoc's words echoed in the back of Kaldon's mind.

"I hope you remember that too, Yevoc." He muttered as he took off back to the skies. He figured by now Yevoc would be somewhere in Ravendale on his way to Fogsmarsh. The cultists didn't even know Yevoc was going to meet Kaldon, so he didn't think they would bother Yevoc.

Kaldon flew South to the coastal city of Meadhold. There was only one place he could go to down there, but he hoped that it would he would be able to get the information he needed.
