Setting
The city has mostly stone pathways and bridges, being situated around a giant lake, and the roads circle it entirely, providing several good views. Around the city, one can find a Public Market, several small business, and several manors and farms, all aimed at retaining the older feel.
There is no Pokemon Center however, and the traditional Poke Mart is also absent, however, both services that would be provided can be found at alternative places in the city. The Proving Hall provides the biggest tourist draws these days however.
"Well yes I do. Sometimes my Charmeleon friend on land gets into all sorts of trouble and its all I can do to make sure he eats well."
Zee felt his mouth go dry. "Charmel-" he started only for his helmet to cut out.
"Oh yes!" Luna chirped, wading around the boat towards Zee's position, "I share my food with him."
"...Is he friends with a Sandslash in a cowboy hat?"
Luna's head tilted almost curiously.
"Do you know my friends?" Luna asked as she slowly leaned forward until there was a clonk of skull colliding with helmet, "You wouldn't be giving them any trouble would you?"
Zee shuffled uncomfortably. "Cu. Please call your friend off she is making me uncomfortable."
"Alright, alright, give'im some space." He said it while laughing, but their was an undertone of command that was hard to hear and a sharpness to his eyes that wasn't quite revealed.
Adam stared blankly for a few long seconds before he shrugged and tugged his earphones out. "Why the hell are you asking me for? Ask them, they're the ones who do all the fighting," he answered with a jerk of his head towards Natasha, Mr. Slithers and Bic.
The kid rolled his eyes, unimpressed. "Seriously?"
Adam shrugged and just put his headphones back in.
"Hey! Any of you want to battle?" he called out in the direction of the three pokemon.
Natasha tossed her mane haughtily. "We are in no condition to fight," she answered the air itself thanks to the language barrier.
"You are in no condition," the Arbok was quick to correct, "Some of us choose not to fight." And with that he coiled up and rest his head on top of his own body with eyes closed.
Adam didn't pay him any mind.
The trainer was walking away now, heading back to his Blastoise and giving it a nudge before he said something to it which made the pokemon shrug.
Adam had to shield his eyes from the heat at first but he was quick to get up on his feet with a tug of his red trench coat and a small smirk. "This kids up to something," he muttered under his breath before he glanced at Bic. He was going to hold out a hand to stop Bic before he walked into the arena.
The arena the teen had stepped into was like a large bowl with rounded walls and only about six feet of flat ground in the center. It was closed small and tight. It wasn't sloped so steep that someone like Bic would slide, but someone with a bit more weight would have a hard time staying out of the middle, where the Blastoise was being called back out to.
"He's big and heavy. If you try to get underneath him, he'll probably just slam down on you. I'll try to spot a weakness from up in the trainer booth. You just do what you do best." And with that he turned and headed into the trainer section, letting Bic take the lead from there.
Curiously enough the arms of the creature had taken to retreating inside of its shell and the bad leg had followed, leaving it with only one out.
"Why are you letting your Charmeleon tire itself out? I wanted a real battle."
Adam tilted his head in confusion. Was he watching the same battle? He leaned over from the booth and narrowed his eyes.
"Blastoise, Rapid Spin!"
The pokemon was spinning on the spot now like some sort of internal gyroscope had gone off and sent the pokemon out of control. Not so fast that touching him was dangerous, but fast enough that it could hurt to try and grab a hold. The smoke whipped around and was tossed into the air, partly dissipating and partly dispersing.
His speed higher even than before as the flame charge intensifies, Bic concentrates on nothing but the battle. The barking of the human above him not cause for even a small bit of notice. His breathing is level, he could continue at this level for a good while. He's already fought to champion level pokemon at once after all. He opts for a slight show of force. Natasha had explained the principles to him, and fire was his life. He gathers breath until his lungs are full to capacity. Focus on the rotation, he thinks. And looses a firespin the next instant, intent on it surrounding the spinning mon, it wasn't as large as Natasha's but it was intensely hot and the core was full of smoke. Bic didn't intend for it to do damage, not in the burning sense at least. To the rapidly spinning pokemon, it needed a lot of air. Bic intended to deny it that. Suffocate it by surrounding it in the Fire spin. And still he ran, picking up speed, watching for any development.
The Blastoise started to slow as suddenly a gush of high pressure water fired at the ground, at first pushing it one way in a slight rock up the slope of the arena. Then just as gravity took control once more to bring the Blastoise trapped back down towards the burning pit of fire, its good foot emerged and gave a hard kick against the incline, sending it launching back down the pit and up the other side, sliding free of the flames.
From within the dark of the shell for a brief moment there was an evil gleam.
The water was never meant to put out the flames.
The fight was just beginning.
And as it spun, water started to spray out, bathing the arena in a torrent that caused steam to rise all around and the force from the cannon like openings only added to the beasts spin.
Should Bic pass near the Blastoise he would work to dodge all the water or turn it to steam, while trying to claw its joints and head.
