Age: 26
Sex: Female
Height: 170 cm (~5’ 7”)
Weight: 54 kg (~120 pounds)
Body Type: Mesomorph
Voice Type: Mezzo Soprano

Preferred Weaponry:

* Katana
* Hand-to-Hand Combat

Combat Style:

* Soft

Saiyan Rank: Vanguard

Starting Power Level: 100,000

Suppressed Power Level: 25,000

Personality: Kurosa is what you would call a true Saiyan Warrior in that she is serious, proud, and doesn’t take kindly to anyone undermining her power and how hard she’s worked to achieve it. She is tough, tenacious, and ruthlessly cunning as a warrior. Her combat experience is second to none, as she’s been fighting since she was old enough to walk with her siblings, friends, school bullies, competitive rivals, and her enemies all across the galaxy. Countless battles and life-or-death situations have forged her combat instincts to very near their peak. Even when caught off guard she remains cool and collected and quickly assesses and takes control of the situation. She never lets anyone or anything stand above her, so if you knock her down don’t you dare stand over her and gloat or you will face the wrath of a Saiyan unleashed.

Powers And Abilities:

* Infinite Ki Edge - Using her sword as a conduit, she channels her Ki through it and places a very sharp and focused layer of Ki over its edge. From this edge, she can slice through nearly anything and also fire projectile blues capable of doing extreme damage to anything they touch.

* Ki Gradient - A technique taught to her by her dear friend, Era Niir’lana. It allows her to form a protective layer of Ki over her body which diverts and dilutes incoming Ki attacks, even when they come from a being with power much greater than her own. However, the weakness of this technique is that it is incredibly taxing on the body, and the greater the difference in power between her and her enemy, the more stamina she loses when using it.

* Limit Breaker - This is a biological phenomenon possessed only by Kurosa and the other four Saiyans who survived the SLBP. The Limit Breaker ability comes in two forms:

A) Outbursts of anger which vastly increase their power levels for brief periods of time.

B) After recovering from grievous injuries, especially life-threatening injury, the Saiyan’s power level increases exponentially in proportion to the damage done.

Biography: The Saiyan Limit Breaker Project, or SLBP, was founded over twenty years ago on Haurbo Prime, a backwater world which had been colonized by Saiyans around two hundred years ago. In the initial stages of the project, it met with fierce resistance from the King of Saiyans for the idea that the “modification” of the Saiyan genome would “undermine” and “contaminate” the gene pool. He thus ruled that such experiments were highly illegal and would be met with execution by his very hand should anyone be found guilty of its practice. As a result, the original team moved to Haurbo Prime and created Ki-Shielded underground bunkers undetectable by power-reading devices of any kind to continue their tests in secret. And it is there that our story begins…

Kurosa is the first infant who was subjected to the tests while still inside her mother’s womb. Her mother, a scientist among the organization, had volunteered her unborn child to the experiment for the sake of advancing the Saiyan genome and unlocking the true potential of the Saiyan Race. As such, the unborn infant was carefully administered numerous injections while inside the womb through her mother’s lower abdomen throughout her development cycle. Each injection introduced a new strand of DNA meant to overtake the strands in the Saiyan genome which the lead scientists had found to be largely responsible for the limitations on Saiyan power. Kurosa had several close calls while in development, but ultimately didn’t suffer any crippling or debilitating effects.

Finally, the day had arrived. Birth. Kurosa was born after eleven hours of labor and found to be a perfectly healthy child. Tests were run on her blood to see if the introduced DNA had taken effect within her, but initial tests were negative. Kurosa was deemed a failed experiment at first… However, that did not last long.

Kurosa, at six months of age, had a temper tantrum and unleashed a small concussive burst of power from her body in a similar manner to a fully grown Saiyan power up. When they scanned her power level, they found it to be just over 200 which was unheard of for an infant. When they took another blood test after her outburst, they discovered something extraordinary. Her original DNA had attacked the introduced DNA, thinking it a virus/hostile presence, assimilated its properties, and made them its own. And all the while her original DNA blueprint hadn’t changed at all despite assimilating the introduced DNA’s properties. Her Saiyan body had conquered an introduced foe, and made its power its own.

This was the success they had been looking for. This was the Saiyan Limit Breaker Project’s dream made real.

Kurosa was subjected to numerous tests over the next few months, and it was found that every time she had an outburst her power level increased from where it had been originally. As well, she had accidentally fallen off a testing table and broke her arm. The scientists rushed her to the medical bay to splint the arm and provide her with a sedative to prevent another outburst, and after her recovery they found her power level had risen substantially. By the time she was only 10 months old her power level was already almost 1,200, and the team knew immediately that the experiment was a success. It was then they made the decision to find more test subjects and continue their experiments.

At first, results were negative across the board. It seemed Kurosa was a freak accident, never meant to be duplicated. Not until a breakthrough occurred thanks to an epiphany provided by Kurosa’s own mother. They had tried their experiments on infants who were already born, so she suggested that they repeat their success by subjecting pregnant mothers to the injections prior to birth as they’d done with Kurosa. At first the team was reluctant due to the health risks for both infant and mother to a prior-birth test, but Kurosa’s mother persisted arguing the point until she won the day and it was agreed to that the tests would commence.

Later that year, pregnant volunteers were brought in for the project and their unborn children subjected to the same injections as Kurosa had been throughout the pregnancy. Sadly, only six infants survived until birth, and only four survived after the first month of life. But those four joined a now 2 year-old Kurosa as successful efforts of forever changing Saiyan biology into something which would never again be limited by the previous weakness of their Race’s genome. But at this time, someone had also ratted the organization out for their experiments, and Kurosa and the children were spirited away as quickly as possible and all evidence of success destroyed by the time Saiyan law enforcement came for them. Kurosa’s mother, as well as all others involved in the experiment, were executed for illegal genetic experimentation as per the King’s orders.

To this day, Kurosa is the only one who knows why it is that this group of five Saiyans is not bound by the limitations of their brethren. As far as the Saiyan Race knows, these five special individuals do not exist. They suppress their powers in an effort to blend in, as they know that the current King, having known about the SLBP, would have them executed as the result of the experiments. But he is aging. Once he dies, they will finally be able to show the rest of their Saiyan brothers and sisters who and what they are. They will finally be able to show them the glory of potentially unlimited power and the dominance the Saiyan Race may one day possess if they continue to evolve and grow stronger.

So begins...

"Long and intense, but I do believe I finally worked out how to use Ki Gradient, along with how to better utilize my other attacks." Totoma said with a smile, while not moving his gaze from the sky. His body was exhausted but his mood was still in peak condition. It wasn't everyday that he gets to train this heavily in a day. "Era here didn't cut me any slack today. Despite me already going through an incredible sparring match with Luppa earlier today."

Kurosa's eyebrow went up.

"... She what?" Kurosa asked.

"She challenged him to a sparring match, and he was able to use the Ki Gradient to defeat her."

Kurosa's eyebrow remained up as she stared at Era.

"It... I was monitoring their power levels. He kept it to 17,000." Era said.

Kurosa relaxed her eyebrow and sighed.

"Mmm." Kurosa said.

"Kurosa... You found what you were looking for, didn't you?" Era asked, trying to change the subject.

"Yes." Kurosa replied flatly.

Era clapped happily.

"Great! So we're okay?"

"We are prepared for the worst, but it doesn't mean we're "okay". We have a ways to go before we're okay." She replied.

"Oh..."

Kurosa waved it off.

"At any rate, we are prepared to defend Totoma in the event anyone pries about that day. And my investigation as to who is behind the leak of the recording is still ongoing. Once I have a name, I will figure out my next step."

"Understood. What should we do?"

Kurosa looked to Era thoughtfully.

"Hmm... You two are fine, for now. Just keep up with your training and don't worry about this any further. I will handle it."

"Okay, but... You always take these things on by yourself. Are you sure you don't need any help?"

"No. If you two got involved it would just put you both in unnecessary danger. I can handle this. Trust me."

"... Yes, ma'am."

Totoma slumped his head, he didn't really think anything would have been wrong if he fought with Luppa, but with how serious Kurosa was acting, he felt ashamed that he let Luppa bait him at all. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to risk anything, she just kept pushing the match and I caved." Looking to the ground he thought. "But she uh enjoyed the fight from what I could tell. Like it was fun for her...I enjoyed it as well." he muttered the last part.

Totoma was always a simple individual, fighting and eating were really the only to passions he had. It was true that the other survivors always took a priority for him, but he must admit he often lets combat control his life. Only in the throes of a brawl did he ever really fill alive. The fight with Luppa proved to him just how much he enjoyed them, his training with Era and Kurosa never got to the points of him passing out. His gaze glanced to Era, she was stronger than him but she fought defensively and then shifted his gaze to Kurosa, who was far stronger than the both of them yet she always remains collected never allowing the fight fuel her. In truth, he felt constricted, with the concealing of his power level, which he understood why he must, to always relying on them. He always felt compelled to be there for them like a brother but he wondered if he was limiting himself in the process. Then, of course, there was the side of him, he knew rested deep within, the beast that awoke the only time he ever used his full power. In the heat of battle, he could fell it trying to claw it's way out and part of him just wanted to unleash it. Totoma's mind filled with many twisting thoughts so he would do what he has always done rely on Kurosa to handle the problem. "Right, we'll leave it to you then."

Kurosa nodded as both of them confirmed they'd let her handle the investigation... But she noticed both of them had done so with a slight grain of sadness.

"Are you both all right? You seem... Deflated. Tired from training?" She asked

Era shook her head.

"Oh, no. It's nothing like that. I just..." Era began.

"I just worry about you, Kurosa." She said.

"Why?" Kurosa asked.

"Well... Because you always take on the most difficult tasks by yourself like this investigation and all the other stuff you've done to protect Totoma from a potential conspiracy against us by Luppa. You are an amazing leader and an even more amazing friend and sisterly figure to Totoma and myself, but you take on way too much sometimes and sacrifice your health even for our sakes."

Kurosa's chest burned almost as soon as Era said that, but she had zero outside reactions to the pain as Era continued to speak.

"You can't keep burning yourself like that Kurosa. Eventually, with all of the work you do outside of training with us, you're going to start damaging your body. So... Will you share the burden with us at some point?" Era asked.

Totoma looked amazed at Era for speaking her mind so blatantly. "She does have a point. You're our commander out there and here. I can't remember the last time you just relaxed for a day. I mean I know training is relaxing for me but that's different. Stress builds up in all of us and it can be devastating. You keep everything in and never share the load. I don't know what you're thinking half the time." He started to become a bit more vocal than he intended. "I turned down my original promotions for a multitude of reasons. The biggest being I didn't want to be someone you had to worry about in some different group optionally on an entirely different raid. I wanted to try an ease your burden the only way I could."

As Totoma went on his rant, their scouts all lit up as a power level of around 22,000 approached them. As it got closer it was easy to tell it was Luppa. It only took her a few minutes to arrive after she was picked up by the scouter. There was a fresh scar across her cheek. "Ah, so you do live out here Totoma. Such a secluded area." In one hand, she held a pad with some documents on it. "Kurosa... and Era. What are you doing here? I didn't realize you all lived out here as well."

Kurosa glanced at Luppa, and a silence fell between them as their eyes met.

"This world is our home, Luppa. We volunteered it to become open as a training ground for others, but it is home nonetheless... What do you want?" She asked.

Era said nothing. She couldn't.

"I uh came to give this to Totoma." She held up the pad. "It's for Totoma's transfer slash promotion. If he wanted it. It's already been signed by the chief. It just needs the signature of him, myself and one other vanguard captain." she ran a hand over her new scar. "No ones ever gotten the better of me like he did. I talked to the chief yesterday and he agreed that Totoma would be a good fit for my team, but seeing as he has turned down the last few promotions, the chief didn't want to waste resources pushing another promotion. So if Totoma wants it and signs this we can begin the actual process." Luppa gave a sigh. "Totoma is an amazing fighter, I watched him during the last raid, even when he set himself on fire." She giggled slightly at remembering Totoma being on fire. "I actually could have sworn that my scouter registered his power level to be around 20,000 a few raids back but it looked to be just a malfunction." She shifted her weight between her feet a few times. "But I can understand if he wants to stay where he is. I'll be disappointed but I'll understand."

All the while Totoma stood there silently listening to her talk.

Kurosa kept a careful eye on Luppa as she spoke, taking in every inflection of her voice and shift in body posture.

It almost sounded as if she was attracted to Totoma, but Kurosa knew better. Luppa was much smarter than she looked, and this was not a matter of love or attraction.

"I understand your position, Luppa."

Kurosa turned half sideways away from her.

"However... As the leader of the Raid Group he is currently attached to I cannot accept this transfer or promotion. He is too important to my team as it stands. I need him."

Kurosa, normally a very calm and in control person, turned back towards Luppa with a fire in her eyes.

"Go back to your base Luppa, and take that document with you. Totoma is staying right where it he. And the next time you want to spar with one of my team, clear it with me first. Got it?" She demanded.

Luppa nodded as kurosa spoke. "I see. Then we can consider the matter settled." She placed the document under he arm and approached Totoma. "I'll be seeing you on the field of battle." she took his hand into hers. "Feel free to come by my base anytime you want to spar, my whole team will welcome you. This is the location of our base and our scouter frequency." She pulled her hand back leaving a small data drive in Totoma's hand. "We might not be in the same unit, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends." She walked away before flying off at great speed.

Totoma stood there looking at the drive than to his friends. "She's weird, isn't she." after pocketing the drive he looked to Era and the distinct sound of his stomach growling could be heard. "So... food anyone." He said with a grin just happy the situation was done and excited at the prospect of food.

Kurosa's eyes narrowed as she watched Luppa hand Totoma a data drive with the location of her base and scouter frequency. And when she took off and Totoma made his comment about her being weird and asking about food, she heaved a sigh.

"Totoma... Do me a favor and don't go anywhere near that woman or her squad for the time being. She's up to something. I can feel it."

"But, she seemed genuinely friendly to me in that exchange." Era said.

"... That's why I know she's up to something. Luppa isn't the friendly sort. She has brutal training methods and her squad is known for their intense method of combat for a reason." Kurosa retorted.

"Kurosa... Do you think maybe the stress of this life has weighed on you a little too much?" Era asked.

Kurosa slowly looked in Era's direction.

"... Era..." She said quietly.

"I mean... We've managed to-"

Kurosa disappeared and reappeared in front of Era clamping a hand over her mouth with a dangerous look in her eyes.

Kurosa tapped her scouter, indicating the line was still open. Anyone listening to their frequency could figure out what was happening if Era said too much.

Kurosa let go of Era's mouth and stepped back once, giving Era some space.

"We will speak of this matter at another time, and another place... For now, both of you on me. We're going home to eat dinner." She quietly ordered.

Era nodded, tears welling in her eyes as she realized she almost gave them away on an open frequency. Her hands covered her mouth and her finger wiped the first tear away as she fought to maintain her composure.

Kurosa started flying away, and Era followed right behind her...

Totoma stood there for a moment looking towards the direction Luppa had gone then to his friends. Things had gotten sorely out of hand due to his mistake. This would never have happened if Cerely and Jaoco were still alive, they were always far more careful then him. Part of him couldn't help but think if he had been the one to perish the others might not suffer as much. Without another word he flew a distance behind the others, his mind stuck in thought.

By the time they got back home, Kurosa elected to skip dinner as she had received an important communication from her source about what had transpired behind the scenes.

Era and Totoma ate dinner in relative silence. And once they were ready to put the dishes away, Kurosa entered the dining room looking... Terrible.

Her skin was pale, glassy, and she was sweating profusely as if she'd just gone through the workout from hell. Her hair, due to the sweat, was damp and sticking to her back. Her tail was even slightly sweaty. Her clothing stuck to her flesh, and she staggered into the dining room and fell onto the dining room table, cracking it in half sending her tumbling through it to the floor with dishes and the table cloth falling down onto her.

"KUROSA!!!" Era shrieked.

Era was instantly at Kurosa's side, throwing everything off of her and checking her pulse, which was weak and erratic, and begging her to stay conscious and stay with them.

"Kurosa! What happened?! What's wrong with you?!" She asked frantically.

Kurosa's eyes were shut and her breathing was labored. Her left hand, however, trailed to her heart and griped her shirt.

"... I'm fine..." She lied.

"You! Are! NOT! Fine!!" Era shrieked.

Era looked to Totoma with tears streaking from her eyes like rivers.

"Totoma!! Get the Medical Ward on the scouter right now!!" Era ordered.

"N-no..." Kurosa countered, reaching up with her free hand holding a data drive.

"Take this... It's... The conspiracy..." She said weakly.

"I don't give a half-breed's TAIL about the conspiracy!! What is happening to you!?!" Era cried through her sobs and gasps of grief and angst.

Kurosa looked to Totoma, holding the data drive out for him. Her eyes were pleading, and filling with tears of their own as she grit her teeth and swallowed the lump in her throat.

"Protect this, Totoma... Protect it with your life... We can't... Let them find out... That we know... What they've... Done..."

Kurosa's mouth started to hang open slightly and eyes rolled into the backs of their sockets. She started to convulse madly in Era's arms starting at her chest before it spread to her stomach, hips, legs, and arms.

"KUROSAAAAA!!!" Era shrieked.

Totoma went white, a chill ran through him. Shakily he raised his hands to his scouter and signaled the medical ward. "I need a medical team to my location now. My commander his having a seizure. Hurry!" He pocketed the drive and rushed to Kurosa's side. He took her into his arms from Era, and he did the only thing he knew how to do. In certain situations transferring energy into an injured or ill person might be able to prolong their life until help arrived. It was basic practice for frontline troops, a form a first aid that can be performed by nearly anyone. "Era...I need you to stay calm." He tossed her the drive with Luppa's information. "Call her to tell her I'll join her but I need a favor. Tell her to meet us at the medical ward." Now with his focus on Kurosa he began to channel his energy into his shaking friend. He had done this a number of times for his fellow soldiers. "I won't lose you. I can't." Totoma's power began to rise as he forced his own energy into her. "I refuse to let you." With a shout, he forced a large wave of energy into Kurosa's body. "Come back to me." He shouted again as another wave past between them. "DAMN YOU KUROSA YOU CAN"T DIE!" There was one more large pulse of energy between them.

Era caught the drive as Totoma tossed it to her, going on about joining Luppa.

"But we haven't seen what's on the drive yet! If she's involved, what can we trust her to do other than betray us?! Betray you!! We need to see the drive's content before we make any hasty decisions!!" She cried.

Totoma didn't seem interested in listening though, as he began to try and use his energy to jolt Kurosa out of the seizure.

Era squinted her eyes and shielded herself from the Ki waves pulses as they passed between Totoma and Kurosa, who's body was still madly convulsing with saliva and foam beginning to gather at the corners of her mouth.

Another large pulse from Totoma, and her body jolted.

Her convulsions slowed, but they did not stop.

Another pulse from Totoma, and another jolt in response.

Her convulsions began to cease, but her eyes remained in the backs of their sockets as her head rolled to the side. Her chest went still. The saliva and foam dripped from her mouth to the floor. And Kurosa's body went limp in his arms.

"Kurosa?..." Era whispered.

Nothing.

"Kurosa!?" Era yelled, walking over and putting her hands under Kurosa's head to support it.

Kurosa's head was like a rag doll's, rolling under each and every adjustment Era made, no matter how slight, as not a single muscle was active to resist or hold her head in place.

"Kurosa, please... Wake up... Please, please, please wake up!" She begged.

Kurosa's chest was still as stone. No breath escaped her lips. No pulse evident in her neck or wrists. Her eyes remained fixated in the backs of their sockets. She was completely lifeless.

Thankfully, the Medical Ward was not far, and their top Guardians, as they were called, had already made it to the scene and burst through the front door rushing to their side.

"Give her here!" The lead commanded.

They took Kurosa's body away from Totoma and placed it on a stretcher, which then sprouted metal bars around her to keep her in place as they rapidly flew her back to the Medical Ward establishment to get to work on revival and treatment.

Commanding officers of any kind held priority over all other patients in Saiyan Society. There would be no wait. No delay. She would be revived and treated the instant she was inside the building even if they had to leave other patients to make it happen. All resources would be directed her way.

Era fell to her knees, weeping uncontrollably with the drive Totoma had given her with Luppa's information clutched to her breast.

"Kurosa... Please, don't leave us... We need you." She wept.

Era wept bitterly to herself as Totoma raced off into the skies. Thankfully, he'd left behind the drive Kurosa gave him before doing so.

Honestly that's all she wanted to do... Fly away. Fly away somewhere far from here so she could live in peace instead of hiding in plain sight like some kind of... Criminal.

But she couldn't do that... She had to be strong for Kurosa.

How long was she hiding whatever this was, for it to take her so suddenly and violently?

Era absentmindedly stood up and walked to Kurosa's quarters, her computers and equipment still on and running. She placed the drive into the computer and opened the file, revealing the information Kurosa's contact had discovered.

... The conspiracy that Kurosa mentioned... It was bigger and deeper than anyone had imagined.

This didn't go as far as the Chief of Military Operations... This went all the way to the Royal Vizier, second in Saiyan Society only to the King himself.

He knew all along about the SLBP and its surviving members. He knew about Kurosa, Totoma, and Era. He knew about the others. He knew about it all...

"Gods above..." Era whispered to herself as her hand covered her mouth.

The Royal Vizier knew, but he kept it to himself. Why he kept it to himself was a mystery, but he knew all the same. And if he knew about them... None of them had ever been truly safe, no matter how well they'd hidden themselves. So what was his game?

But, despite knowing about them, he was not acting like a threat... Instead, the information seemed to suggest him to be a sympathizer, and that he was watching the survivors carefully to ensure their survival.

The real threat came below the Royal Vizier, from the Chief of Planetary Security, who knew about the project. He didn't know about the survivors. At least... Not entirely.

He knew there were survivors out there somewhere, but he didn't know where or who they were. He had begun extending feelers, if you will, with certain Saiyans like Luppa acting as catalysts to trigger something in them and force them to reveal themselves. In fact, Luppa's name, image, and basic information were all accessible in the document as being under the Chief of Planetary Security's personal orders to flush them all out along with dozens of other Saiyans in leadership roles like her.

"Luppa..." Era whispered.

So she was involved... Totoma couldn't join her. Not now. Not ever!

Kurosa had been right about her.

Luppa had evidently given a report to the Chief of Planetary Security that Kurosa's track record alone of having never been defeated in combat by an enemy, even when overpowered, was suspicious enough to warrant investigation. An investigation had been launched, and Kurosa's record examined with a fine tooth comb for any signs of inconsistencies or lapses in logical flow.

The detail which triggered a red flag and sparked a more serious investigation was the fact that she had defeated a being with a power of just under 60,000 while using her 25,000 suppressed power level. When asked how she did it, Kurosa was quoted as saying, "It made mistakes, and I took advantage of them." But this was not convincing the top brass after having seen Luppa's report.

When Era asked how Kurosa defeated it, Kurosa took her out into the wilderness with no scouters or recording devices of any kind and revealed to Era that she'd learned how to spike her power to maximum and return to "normal" in less than a tenth of a second, far faster than the scouters were able to process power spikes, let alone record them. Using that method, she'd raised her power level to maximum at the exact instant she attacked the creature. This caused untold levels of damage to it faster than the scouters could record it, and thus she defeated it despite being "overpowered."

But this success, and Luppa's report, despite lacking proof to the claim, did not come without a price...

What frightened Era the most about this entire ordeal was what came at the bottom of the page... Kurosa's name, picture, and basic information as the Primary Suspect and Primary Target Of Acquisition of the SLBP.

Era's blood ran cold as she continued reading the information which revealed that Kurosa's condition, now properly identified as a medically forced heart failure, had been surgically arranged when she was younger. Not long after escaping the facility and, so they thought, the eye of the King, Kurosa had fallen deathly ill and needed to go to the Saiyan Home World Medical Center where she was treated for the illness. But her abnormally high power level of just over 5,000 (for a child) caused concern among the top brass once word reached them.

At the direction of the Chief of Planetary Security, the Medical Center staff were ordered to implant a microscopic parasite inside Kurosa which would attach itself to the outer region of her heart and begin feeding on her blood to form a massive clot. The clot would form just outside the heart and begin to put more and more pressure on it as years went on, and this would eventually force a heart failure which would require surgery. They knew from having dealt with the parasite for centuries that it took a long time to create a clot large enough to become a health hazard, and usually it was discovered long before it became life threatening. So they arranged it by inserting a younger stage of the parasite which would take longer to grow to maturity and begin feeding on her so that the clot and ensuing heart failure would take place sometime before she turned 30 years old... Which was, no surprise, when she was likely to hit her peak as a Saiyan Warrior according to the norm.

If she was indeed an SLBP survivor, the surgical tools, under the pressure of her true power level which could never be fully suppressed or hidden from such sensitive instrument calibrations, would prove her status as an SLBP survivor and guarantee her execution by the King.

Era's entire face went white as a sheet as she at last comprehended the danger Kurosa was now in. She had effectively died in Totoma's arms before being rushed to the Medical Ward. By now, they would have revived her and begun treatment for the source of her condition which was the clot in her chest on the outside of her heart. The moment they opened her up to try and remove the clot and parasite with those sensitive tools...

"Kurosa..." She whispered.

Kurosa had found out too late that her condition was forced and not natural, and it so happened that its time to threaten her life and reveal her had come.

Era removed the disc from the computer, as there was more to the story than just this. She had to protect it.

Placing it in her safe and burying the safe beneath the cabin, Era put her scouter on and raced after Totoma. She had to tell him! He had to know everything! They had to save Kurosa from what was coming!! She was powerless to stop what was about to happen without them!!

She prayed Totoma had his scouter still on as she activated her own.

"Totoma! Totoma come in, please!! I read the drive!! I know what's happening! Please respond!!!" She yelled as she flew towards his power signature.

Era flinched a little when Totoma touched her shoulder, but didn't move away from him.

She only nodded as he confirmed he would wait for Kurosa with her.

Together the two of them flew to the Medical Ward after bidding the Royal Vizier goodbye. He said he supported them in whatever decision they all made, but he hoped they could convince Kurosa to see things his way.

Later that afternoon, they were sitting beside Kurosa's medical bed.

She was unconscious with a tube in her nose and one in her throat. Several sensors were attached to her body, namely her upper chest, monitoring her heat rate which was steady, but weaker than normal.

Era sat close to the bed side, holding Kurosa's hand in both of hers as she waited eagerly for Kurosa to wake...

Totoma paced anxiously back and forth. The medical ward always made him uncomfortable, seeing Kurosa in such a weakened state twisted his insides and reminded him of how Cerely and Jaoco were. He felt as if he should be out there doing something, finding a way to help her. Yet all he was good for was punching things. Glancing to Era he wondered if she would ever forgive her for what he said earlier. "Era... why don't you get some fresh air I'll be here watching over her. I'll alert you if anything changes." He took a set next to her.

Era was lost in thought as she watched Kurosa's face, but she managed to heart Totoma as he asked if she wanted some air.

"Oh..." She whispered.

"I guess I will... Take good care of her." She asked.

Era quietly got up and walked outside to get some fresh air and better process what had happened today. A deep conspiracy, Kurosa's sudden decline in health, this promise that they'd all be okay, the asking for them to reveal themselves once Kurosa was better... It was all happening so fast.

Totoma watched as Era left, before turning his gaze to Kurosa. "I'm not sure if you can hear me Kurosa, but we need you here, especially Era. You've always been the big sis keeping us in line and focused. I tried to always keep the situation a bit more light-hearted, but I can't do that here. I don't know what to do. I said somethings to Era and I think I really hurt her. I didn't mean to, I just said what I felt. I guess in the end I've never been good at expressing my true self." He took her hand into his. "I need guidance on what to do, what to say. I'm not sure if I could handle Era hating me. I just wanted to take the burden away from you two for a while, but I didn't take into account how you two would feel about it." Tears slowly began to stream from his eyes. "After Cerely and Jaoco died I became so scared of losing you two. I trained harder, longer I put all my blood sweat and tears into becoming stronger. But that strength was useless. I can't use it, not how things are now, not how I am now. I might lose control again. I might mess up and die. I didn't want to burden anyone, didn't want to drag you down. But I risked exposing us just to make myself feel better. I caused so many problems for both of you. I should have been the one to die not Cerely or Jaoco. They were careful, they were smarter. They wouldn't have caused you so much trouble and stressed you out so much. Maybe then you would have found a way to take care of what was wrong with you." Totoma poured his heart out to her hoping that in some way she could hear him but at the same time hoping she wouldn't. "Era is so much stronger than me when it comes to these things. I guess that's why I've always admired her. She always greeted us with a smile, and I made her cry. I can't count how many times I've passed out training and she would find me, with food in tow. And I hurt her with my words. I'm such a moron. Growing up I would find any excuse to be around her, now it feels like I'm finding every excuse to get farther away. She probably does hate me now." He felt slightly embarrassed as he went on, and hoped Era wouldn't overhear him.

Kurosa was unconscious for most of Totoma's heart rending speech about what he had done, but she started waking up a little at the end as he said that Era was stronger than he was when it came to "these tings." She was barely conscious, so she didn't know what "these things" meant. And the painkillers were further muddling her brain function.

But her eyes began to flutter open as he finished speaking, and her eyes slowly glided over to look in his direction.
