The Wild & The Wicked

The Wild & The Wicked

0 INK

In a city where feast or famine can easily swap in an instant, how will twelve young adults under the same roof fare?

3,049 readers have visited The Wild & The Wicked since hoodrattt created it.

Introduction

Deep in the heart of New York exists a life unlike any other. Where vice and virtue wage perpetual warfare, the young psyche blossoms - or implodes. Big dreams often lead to big cities. Finding oneself isn't an easy journey, especially when there are so many distractions and life-altering road blocks along the way. So when high school is over, and local colleges just aren't cutting it, where will you go?

ImageSome claw their way up a cooperate ladder, while others just ride on their luck and high hopes. Whether it be thoughtful planning, luck, fate, or money, well... It's brought these twelve adults together in a twisted tale of serendipity. The imbalance of identity is bizarre, tenants ranging from drug dealers to high end, white-collar workers.

Some kids come here to chase pipe dreams, some folks move out this way for a new beginning. In the Bronx, lively colorful shops speckle the busiest roads, children play and shout along sidewalks that are embellished with chalk. But this isn't to say these parts of New York are always so moralized and sweet. In fact, what goes on down below or in the next alley over, even the cafe that is reputed for its family business can paint a far more sinister, feral way of life. Of course it's best to assume that everyone here is just like anyone else - normal people, just trying to get by.

But what happens when honorable and despicable come together in one unusual chance? In a world where clashing cultures and the night life rule all, there are any number of outcomes possible. Buildings torn down along with their stories, murders and drug busts reduced to dust and rubble. Fresh new buildings in the place, housing business offices, quaint boutiques to appeal to the budding youthful culture. Ever evolving the city adapts to new times, smothering the ghosts of it’s past. One building will never change, it’s industrial walls giving the distinct charm that a true New Yorker can not deny. Lofty ceilings and spacious units, fate has pushed these twelve young adults to share the same roof, each their own brand of unique.

Combine good with evil, the beauty and the beast. Wander into town with a sparking curiosity as to 'what there is to do around here'. As a new or old resident, the curiosity seems to be a never ending span. Between the underground nightlife, clubs, infidelity, treason and all the substances in the space separating, will you be honorable? Despicable? Or will you be the perfect hybrid?

Friends and enemies collide. Preexisting notions are put to rest. Secrecy and publicity execute otherwise faultless lives. Wild and wicked people blow through the complex daily, some even going out with a bang.

So let's meet them.

Dominique could feel some tension reaching Kaleb's nervous system and frequent eye contact to her left. In her mind, she wondered what was disturbing him. Was this disturbance outside of the glass window? Was a pedestrian passing by that he was familiar with, or was there someone in the room that Kaleb felt uncomfortable with? Did he hear this person's voice resonating to his ears.

Of course these questions were all based on Dee's own assumption, but once Kaleb began his response with a mumbling β€œoh,” with his eyes to his worn off shoes, this proved that Dee's assumption was correct. Something, or someone, was bothering his aura.
Dee didn't want to display her curiosity in an obvious manner by following his focus. She just met the man after many life changes. Their relationships and mindsets of life have developed since the adolescent years. Secrets revealed to the public or added and locked into their mental journals. She didn't want to drive straight on to the personal questions full speed like most women do.
After some hesitation, continuing his uneasy habits, he finally came up with the answer to Dee's question involving migrating to the Bald Eagle country. Opening his mouth, Dee's speculative thoughts took a break.

β€œI was actually born in New York, I moved to Belleville in middle school. So, I’m actually American.”

β€œReally?” Dee thought internally, but only nodding to surprise externally. This man was American? She couldn't tell, but who really can when Canada and United States are two big melting pots? The ingredients being descendants from other continents. They can, however, tell by accents.

Dee still spoke her native dialect, which was a subject for New Yorkers to ask about. She wasn't short or thick with her vowels, or creaky with her consonants, so it wasn't rare for someone to ask where she was from. She couldn't answer that to strangers, but her dialect was a dead giveaway that she wasn't from New York.

Kaleb, while he lived in When she first met Kaleb, he had a clear Canadian accent. One that could exaggerate the β€œo” in β€œsorry”, but talking to him now, it was different. It was like his Canadian heritage was snatched away from him once he reached the border. Even with his body language, he was well adjusted to the New York Urban scene. Much quicker than the 4-year New York citizen in front of him. This no longer drew questions as to whether he was lying or not.
Kaleb drew more of his adapting skills, asking Dee about another subject.

β€œAre you going to that party you think?”

This was when Dee's conscience kicked in. The party that the well-dressed blonde was hosting this weekend? A party that may be filled with young adults that knew each other, but didn't know Dee? Dee felt hesitance over attending a party full of strangers. Watching as boys and girls perform various acts that may be comedic or crude.

On the other hand, this is the beginning of where social connections happen. Dee could get a chance to communicate with more people. Even those who may be her tenants. Even those who were mutually friends with someone Dee knew from work or college. The chances of meeting new friends were wide and open with an invitation.
When she came up with her answer to Kaleb, she wanted to display confidence in her body language, but her conscience still didn't want to leave her.

β€œI'm not sure with my work schedule, but I can change things around.”

Since Kaleb was the one to address if she was going to Jaylene's fiesta, this implied that he would be doing the same, but Dee proceeded to ask him anyways.

β€œSo how about you?”

Hopefully, he could attend. So far, Kaleb was the only tenant she was closer to, and this was their second time communicating together. Nonetheless, she felt more at ease with him around, since he may know the neighbors living in Empires Heights.

Cory was in his own world, barely offering monosyllabic answers. Rolling his eyes, Patrick sighed as he got up from his spot on the couch, offering a peace sign to Juliet as he walked from the area. He assumed he would see her later, if Amil was going. Speaking of, where was she? His eyes grazed over the room to see her sitting with Noellen, the other recluse of the building. Patrick couldn’t ever remember exchanging words with the guy, but he couldn’t say he put any effort or thought into it either. In fact Patrick preferred isolation majority of the time - Kaleb and Amil being exceptions.

As the mans name came into his mind, the long hair and dark skin came back in vision - of course he was still flirting with the new tenant. Without any regards, Patrick slipped in just as the girl asked Kaleb a question. As bro-manly as possible, Patrick clomped an arm over Kalebs shoulder, smiling boyishly and gripping his laptop with his free hand. β€œHey bro, thought you didn’t make it.” Patrick said, basically taunting Kaleb to show his less than charming ways.

Kaleb glared at Patrick knowingly, smirking venomously. β€œDidn’t know you were keeping tabs.”

Laughing, Patrick pointed to Kaleb as he looked at the light skinned beauty across from them, β€œTHIS GUY!” Patrick could feel Kaleb seethe from beside him.

Still, Kaleb kept his cool, looking at the pretty lady with a glint in his eye. β€œDon’t mind him, he gets jealous easily.” Kaleb said, shrugging off Patrick. β€œI’ll see you later?” Kaleb asked, allowing himself to be dragged away by Patrick. As soon as they were out of ear shot, Kalen pushed Patrick off of him and gently punched the guys shoulder. β€œThe fuck was that?”

β€œWell can’t let you have too much fun, bruh.” Patrick said with a smirk.

Tugging the sleeves of her sweater to poke her thumbs through the holes, Amil folded her arms in her lap, propping her chin up with one hand. The fabric of her sweater covered her lips, but her smile still showed through when Noellen jested with, "I think the more important thing to ask is why are you reacting strongly towards me? Amil leaned back, crossing her legs with grace and beaming a smile to the quite man across from her. β€œCome on, Chef, if you haven’t realized I’m kind of a bold character.” She laughed, flipping the ends of her blue hair. From across the room, Patricks voice could be heard booming into Kaleb’s conversation with the new tenant, it was difficult for Amil not to laugh as she read Kaleb’s expression from where she was.

Looking back to Noellen, she hadn’t realized he had leaned in, almost flinching at his sudden proximity. However she stared back, tilting her head much like he had, smirking. She could hear the humor dripping from his words as he suggested she, Amelia Sheffield, had asked him on a date. She threw her head back in a free spirited stream of laughter. β€œNoellen, you play too much.” She said, lightly slapping his thigh and standing up, feeling a spark of static electricity between them. β€œSee, you’ve sent sparks flying.” She said sauvely.

Leaning against her chair she looked back to Noellen, β€œNo one does dates anymore, we just kinda...wing it.” Amil said lightheartedly, smiling to the handsome devil. β€œI’ll see you there.” She said with a wink, turning on the heel of her foot and maneuvering back to Juliet. Linking her arm with the girl as she passed, Amil pulled the blonde petite femme from the couch and began walking toward the stairs that led straight to her door. β€œCome on, we need to get ready now if we want to drag the boys out in time.” She whispered to Juliet, indicating Patrick and Kaleb.

They passed the pair on their way out, and Kaleb gave a smirk smile at the tattooed queen who had been away on business for quite some time. β€œHey Amil, think you can say hello to a homie or something.”

Amil said nothing as they walked past, throwing a middle finger up in response.

β€œIs that a promise?” She heard him call after her.

Rolling her eyes, Amil nudged Juliet, β€œPlease keep me from that mistake tonight, like I need one more reason for Patrick to call me a slut.” She said to her friend, speeding down the flight of stairs. They were at the door of her unit shortly, she had left the door unlocked and entered her apartment with a sense of relief, throwing her arms up as she went through the door and collapsing onto her couch with gusto. β€œNow, we can watch Netflix while we get ready.” she suggested, flashing her pearly whites to Juliet and clearing a spot on the couch.

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

So, ah, I take it that the role play's is still kind of active? I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back- international trips turned to work and school so that I barely had time to sleep. If the role-play still has a pulse, I'd be glad to post starting next week.

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

Okay so again, sorry I haven't found the time to post on the OOC board.

So here's the plan, as of now it is the following characters:

Girls:
Dominique
Juliet
Amil

Guys:
Noellen
Patrick
Kaleb

As of now there is an even ratio, of six total characters - which is definitely enough to keep a plot line flowing. If any of you 3 want to make additional characters, you could add information to your current character sheets so it would be multiple characters on one page. Final plot line points are vague, but I have some ideas for what could come, and we could build off of those!

First and foremost: THE PARTY
this is important to exposing all our characters to each other in their worst kind of element, which will establish an initial tie between all of our characters. Given that none of the characters have any users, I say it would be fair if he godmoded some of the ownerless characters, so they'd be free game as a NPC.

AFTERWARD: still in the air?
LULZ so I am not well put together, but I suppose after the party we can establish fine points we want to hit. Each character has their own stories, and therefore has their own plot points the individual writer wants to make. Feel free to collaborate in ooc if any ideas strike you. Just know I will be making an active effort to extend my three characters into others lives in every which way, so don't feel like you will never have someone to interact with!

xo, stay GOLD guys

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

For the record, I am still here ( o3o)/)

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

so whats the plan here anyway? Just keep posting and figure out who's still around?

(not that I mind either which way just curious ^^)

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

HELLO! So sorry about the delay, I have been CRAMMED with reading assignments and work, not to mention ATTEMPTING to have somewhat of a social life. Good news is things will calm down and I can be much more attentive, I kind of cranked out my post in a last minute rush so I could just have something out there, I intend on adding something for Amil very shortly. My next post will accelerate to everyone being at the party - I have been out of touch with hoodratt but I know she leaves for Miami soon - who knows maybe we'll kick this rp up to full swing by the time she comes back! (:

I've been considering options for additional characters, the only thing is I don't have administrative power so if someone wanted to do that they would have to conjoin their character pages which would be weird but could work. Any questions or suggestions feel free to post them here.

Once upon a time....I was watching Dance Moms and the doorbell rang. Curious, I strolled to the door and opened it.

It was my muse.

"Get your lazy ass up and type", it said, and in fact, I did.

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

There there Rosa it shall be ok. I start back tomorrow to but we all know how much of a life I don't have and how I procrastinate on this site.

If you want, I don't mind making another character either. I have some back up ones I can use so they already have storylines and everything.

With that being said, I WILL post tomorrow after work. It'll be late but eh still.

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

LOL Ambrosia those memes >>>> LOVE EM

I will be so sad if hoodratt leaves, and will totally disown her (jk I love the betch)

I'm just going to be honest here, I only give my approval of the following users:

Everyone else can go fuck themselves, yep I said it. You guys toyed with my emotions, pretending to be committed but just flitting off like any other rper. Broke my heart guys, and I am a BITTER woman.
I'm starting school tomorrow, so things are going to be a little more stressful, but I intend to still post soon, I wanted to give a break to those who haven't posted.

@charlotte, I will have Patrick interact with Juliet in my next post.

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

Maybe there are just too many players? Maybe if we lock it down to those of us who are still around this could survive?

Just an idea...:)

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

Hi everyone.

I might surrender all ownership rights to Rosa, that or I'll start clearing out slots.
Not sure yet. I'll have a decision within three days.

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

That sounds like you're talking to yourself, but there's three of you, but added with your own self, that makes four XD

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

I've PMed a couple of you, but please come back. My little heart hurts every time I check and I see the same people haven't noticed. You guys worked so hard to get the position and create the character, you deserve to roleplay in a fun and enthusiastic roleplay. We are a community of writers, meant to uplift and help each other grow as creative beings.

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

Try prewriting! Predicting what others might say and writing bits of a post that help character development. It sounds like hocus pocus but I swear it makes writing easier and also helps add length and quality to a post!

Re: The Wild & The Wicked

I tend to try and get a post out as soon as possible due to time constraints and whatnot. Occasionally I have time to sit and actually write it out. Usually, though, whatever is in the post is what I think up on the spot.
