"Hey! Wait a sec!" Kodaka called after the green haired demon but it was no use. She was already out the door in a flash and he sighed. I hope she doesn't run into trouble. Entering the kitchen, Kodaka began pulling the neccesary food items from the fridge. Meat, soy sauce, vegtables, tofu and everything else. Stting the table for two, Kodaka began slicing up the meat, but before he could get started, he heard a loud thump at the front door. Geez, what was she doing?! Setting the knife down, Kodaka opend the door to find Modikai sprawled out on the sidewalk and a large duffle bag in a nearby bush. "Geez, you are a handful." Letting out a sigh Kodaka went to where the girl had fallen and picked her up, helping her to her feet. "Are you always this clumsy?"

"Not always," she mumbled, and retrieved her bag from the bush and quickly zipped it closed. She couldn't help but laugh for a quick moment. "I must admit, I guess I am sort of a klutz." She said, looking up at the male before entering the door and walking into the bathroom.

"Don't come in. I'm changing." She closed and locked the door, and changed into a strapless dress that was below her knees by 6 cm. The dress was a solid white, and she rummaged through her duffel bag to find fake, white neko ears. It was a headband with ears, but she loved it. She slipped it on her head and left her duffel in the bathroom, opened the door, and left to walk back into the living room.

"I'm a fan of nekos, if you're wondering what the ears are for."

Kodaka rolled his eyes as the girl shut the door. Heading back to the kitchen, he finished preparing the meat and set the hot pot, raw meat, veggies and everthing else on the table. Sukiyaki, was cooked at the table and Kodaka turned on the hot pot and set the meat to simmer as he waited for Modikai. After a few minutes, he heard the door open and shut and the little demon appeared. Kodaka blinked and stared at the girl who was now dressed in a dress, and two cat ears stuck out from the top of her head. It was a strange sight, but in a way it was kind of.... cute. "Umm, do you always wear that?" "I'm a fan of nekos, if you're wondering what the ears are for." "Yea I see that, but what's with the dress?"

"It's my sleeping wear, baka," she teased, walking over and thumping his head with her index finger. "The food smells great," she commented. "I never knew human males were such wonderful cooks." The girl walked to a seat and sat down, grinning as she looked up at him.

Sleep wear? It sure didn't look like it but Kodaka decided to let it go. "The food smells great," she commented. "I never knew human males were such wonderful cooks." "Blame my mom. She wouldn't let me leave Japan if I didn't learn to cook for myself." The meat smelled delicious and Kodaka took her bowl and filled it with rice, soba noodles and a few slices of meat. "Here's the sauce." Pointing to the small bowl Kodaka took some himself.

The demon girl took some and began eating. Despite her demon....ness, she wasn't a messy eater. Modikai had table etiquette when it came to eating, and she knew, that it was gross to eat messily. After she finished a gulp, she commented. "Mm. Tastes good. I've never really learned how to cook. It's like you're the girl of the household." Modikai snickered. "Kidding."

"Hmph! You should be ashamed that a girl your age can't cook yet!" Kodaka took a bite and raised an eyebrow playfully. He really was warming up to the demon. "So um.... do you plan to stay the night?"

"I have no where else to go. So, if it's alright with you, may I?" She asked, and took a bite out of the sukiyaki. "But if I run to you in the middle of the night, suspect that it's a nightmare. I occasionally get them. But, they're not the nightmares small kids get." Modikai snickered, and took another bite.

E?"Nightmares? Did demons get nightmares? "I guess its alrght with me. You can seep in the guest room by the bathroom." Kodaka finished eating and took his plate to the sink. "Nightmares? Nightmares are nightmares. What's so different about the ones you hav

Modikai stared at him for a moment, and when she realized she was finished, she set her plate in the sink delicately. "My nightmares are different. My nightmares differ from the ones children get. It's not fear that surrounds my nightmares.." she began. "It's loneliness." The girl walked back to the seat and sank down in the chair.

Loneliness. Was she really that lonely? Well she never knew her parents so she probably never had anyone take care of her before. "Here, you can stay in the living room until I get your room ready." Kodaka began to exit the kitchen. He would clean up later. "Just don't break anything."

"Alright." Modikai said, and sat on the couch. She began murmuring to herself while Kodaka fixed up the bedroom. "I'm a stranger to him...why is he so nice? I don't understand it," she murmured. Modikai extended her hand slightly to stare at it. "I'm afraid of something," she murmured. "I'm afraid that...what if I get angry someday...I might hurt him using my infliction..I don't want to do that." Modikai hunched her shoulders, her eyes gently shaking as she stared at the ground. "Maybe I won't know him by then...maybe it'll just be a distant memory...why must I live in a fake fantasy." She said to herself, and then she rose her legs to push them against his chest.

(Wah! I just finished Nabari No Ou and I'm crying like crazy. T_T)

Kodaka left the little demon in the living room and entered the guest room. "Why am I being so nice to her? I don't even know her!" Kodaka turned on the lights and put away random boxes in the closet that were on the bed. "Even though she looks harmless, that power of hers would easily kill me. Should I be more cautious around her?" Getting a towel from the bathroom, Kodaka laid it on the bed, in case she wanted to take a shower. Kodaka's thoughts spun in his head. "How long will she be staying? Is it dangerous to keep her here?" But deep down, the boy knew he didn't want her to leave, but he shook the thought from his head. 'What the hell?! What am I thinking? I can't get attached to her. But.....' Finishing up, Kodaka took one last look at the room. "Everything looks fine. Alright."

"Hey, I'm done. If you want to take a shower you can." Kodaka sat on the couch opposite of her and powered up his computer.

(Awww! I was thinking about starting that! Is it good?)

Modikai shook her head, setting the thoughts aside. "Arigatou. But, no thank you. I'll take one later. I'm going out shopping, I have a credit card." If I'm going to stay with a male for awhile, she thought, I might aswell get my hair done and stuff. So, that's exactly what she did. "I'll be back soon, Kurenai-senpai!" She shouted, waving as she walked out the door. She had flip-flops on, thank goodness. Modikai walked down the sidewalk, only to forget where her credit card was. "Oh, yes," she said. "It's under my hair." The girl pulled the credit card from under her hair. An odd place to be, right? Better than a purse though. Modikai walked into a clothing store, and gazed around. She enjoyed beaches, so maybe there were bikinis somewhere. She paced up and down aisles, looking for her size. Ah! There's one. It was a hot pink bikini with black skulls. She absolutely loved skulls. So, she bought it, and bought herself some normal clothing also. Undergarments, hoodies, shorts, jeans, shoes, etc. When she was done, she exited the store with a bag full of clothes. "Eh. I really don't want my hair to be messed with," she murmured. "I wanna try on that bikini, anyway..." so, the girl ran back to Kodaka's house, flung open the door, raced towards the bathroom and slammed it shut. She slipped on the bikini top and bottom, and exited the bathroom, leaving the bag in there.

"Since I'll probably go swimming soon, since there's probably beaches around, I decided to get swimwear. This is okay, right..?" She asked, tilting her head.

(God Damnit.... I just wrote this hella long post, but then my computer tweaked out and it's all gone! ALL GONE!!!! WHY!!!!!????? *sighs* anyway, I'mma gonna have to go soon so I'll post in about an hour or so. I'm so depressed. I hate it when technology does this to me!!!!!!)

Alcyone blinks in surprise and nods absentmindedly, before looking up at the angelic boy, she clutches her camera tightly and automatically snaps a picture of him. Unable to keep herself from taking a picture of someone so beautiful, realizing she didn't ask his permission, her cheeks redden as she bows her head. "Sorry," she mumbles almost inaudibly. Looking back at Grass as he made his way to the boy she talks another picture of Grass walking elegantly along the grass.

A smile spread across her face as the cat meowed expectantly at the man. "His name's Grass," saying in a soft voice. Alcyone's mind already starting to wander into a forest of random thoughts. Still holding her camera tightly, the metal feeling familiar in her hands. She sits calmly watching the two become acquainted.

Skylar sees an old....friend, of sorts, and grins humorlessly. This place is going to be amazing... He stride over to Anya and bows extravagantly. "Fancy meeting you here," his voice slightly deeper than the average man's, he stands up right with a cheerful grin.

He remembered the last time they met, she tried to stop him from harming the gang of people who had been insulting him over and over, he snapped when they hung a dead carnivorous Venus flytrap on his locker. That town has been long gone from the face of this world. Skylar brushed his pink bangs out of his face as he waited for her to respond. Tapping his wrist three times, in hope that would get him out of here. He was nervous, a headache was threatening to take over his mind and he simply wanted to know why she was here.

She tensed up when he walked up to her and bowed. "Skylar..." She nodded acknowledged him being there but said nothing else her voice cold and emotionless. She smiled slightly before turning to leave. Her head instantly started to hurt as she heard the deep tone in his voice she hated how deep it was. she had no interest in being in the same country as him let alone the same school. The nerve he had to just walk right up and talk to her after he had burnt the only place she had ever called home to the ground. She paused at the entrance to the main school hall.

She knew if she didnt talk to him trouble might start again but then did she really care if she did. She still had no idea where she was supposed to go on the school compose but she could pretend she did to get away from him.

"H-hey wait! Where are you going?!" "I'll be back soon, Kurenai-senpai!" It was no use. The crazy demon girl was already out the door before Kodaka could even blink. The boy ran his fingers though his hair and sighed. "Don't get lost, idiot." Why was he so worried? He barely knew the girl. But Kodaka could not help but worry that something might happen to her. She was a girl just asking for trouble. But then again, she lived on her own all this time and was fine. Well maybe "fine" wasn't the right word. She was still living. There we go. Kodaka opened up Google's homepage on a web browser and began to type in the search query: how to deal with a demon. Kodaka scrolled through the search results but they were all the same. Websites for random charms, items, rituals, and blessings. But absolutely nothing about short, green haired demons that liked cats. "What am I kidding. I'm probably the first human to experience something like this." Just as Kodaka was about to give up, a web page caught his eye. The entry was tucked away in the 30th page and it was titled: Angels and Demons. They live among us! Clicking on the link, Kodaka's eyes widened at what he saw. It was an extremely short online article. Could something like this be so short? Kodaka scrolled down and he noticed there was an enormous blank space underneath the text. It looked like the rest of the article had been deleted. Strange. At the very bottom of the page, Kodaka spotted a street address belonging to a person named Senri Yamamoto. 1887 Moor Ave. Kodaka remembered going down that street countless times but he knew of no one by the name of Yamamoto. Grabbing a slip of paper, Kodaka quickly jotted down the address. This might help him later. Maybe I'll go tomorrow after school or-. The boy's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door banging shut. In an instant, the demon girl literally flew across the living room to the bathroom and shut the door with a gigantic shopping bag stuffed full of clothes slung over her shoulder. Did she really just buy all of those? Where the hell did this girl get her money!? Modikai appeared again and the poor boy was totally unprepared for what his eyes took in. The girl was wearing a hot pink bikini with black skulls plastered here and there. Since, Kodaka had only seen her in her baggy monster hoodie, he never really noticed how good looking her body was. "W-why are you wearing that?" "Since I'll probably go swimming soon, since there's probably beaches around, I decided to get swimwear. This is okay, right..?" She asked, tilting her head. 'It's more than OK!!!! She's too cute!!' Kodaka pulled his gaze away from the stunning sight. 'I swear! If this was an anime, I'd have a hell of a nose bleed right now!' "P-put some clothes on! Do you not have a bit of decency?!"

"I thought this was normal in the human world.." she said, putting her head against the palm of a hand. "Man. Males do overreact when they see girls in bikinis. I guess one of the animes I watched were right.." she shrugged her shoulders. "And yes, I have decency. It's not like I'm standing in my undergarments, stupid. I've seen plenty of human women wear bikinis. You probably have, too, so don't be getting the hots all over me." Modikai bursted out laughing, covering her mouth with her melody of chuckles. "Humans sure are hilarious."

Kodaka shook his head and shut off his computer. "Whatever. What makes you think I'd ever look at you that way." Getting up he headed for the bathroom. "I'm going to take a shower. Don't run off or break anything." Kodaka lifted the bag of clothes and put it in Modikai's room. The thing weighed a ton and the boy marveled that the girl could run full speed with it. Grabbing a towel he closed the door to the bathroom.

"I'll hear you say that when you get to know me better!" She yelled at him playfully, then walked to her bedroom to rummage through her clothing. She raced to the bathroom door, to tell him something else for a moment. She didn't open it, she just talked through it. "By the way. I'm going to your school tomorrow. I filed the school forms, so now I'm at your high school. Also, if there's any bullies, just call my name. You know what I'll do." She said, grinning as she walked back into her bedroom to put on undergarments and try on her other clothes. Modikai tried on skinny jeans, hoodies, and all different clothes she bought.

Great. This was just great. She going to his school?! Did demons go to school as well? And where the heck did she get her hands on the forms? Wasn't. She living on the streets just yesterday? But that was not the problem. What would his friends think if they found out he had a girl living at his house?! They would NEVER leave him alone about it if they found out. Pulling off his clothes, Kodaka stepped in the shower and turned on the water. The hot streams felt relaxing but Kodaka's thoughts were not the bit at rest. He would have to go to that adsress tomorrow and get to the bottom of this. Kodaka finished up and stepped out, reaching for the towel to dry himself. Whatever tomorrow brought, the boy knew it wouldn't be good. He stepped out of the bathroom and headed to his room.
