Setting
Papoa lake is a very large, serene lake on one of the small islands near the main city of Veritas island. It is surrounded by land that has been used for farming and livestock for many years and has rich soil and lush greenery. The river itself contains a plethora of fish and is a popular fishing spot among the inhabitants of the main city. One side of the lake offers a beach that it open during the summers to tourists and locals, though the other is made up of privately owned farms and fields.

A large lake located outside of town where there is enough land for farming and raising livestock. Only accessible by bridge from the main city.

"No, no Its okay, I have time to hang out for a little but, I promise. I was just finished fishing, thats all. I can finish work later, this is far more important than making sure everyone is good to go for the third time in a week..." Rowan said as he took a deep breath. "You tell Nasir what you feel you need to, just make sure he doesnt try to kill me afterwards okay?" He said with a tiny laugh that ended up mostly being nerves. "We need to figure out what we're telling our parents anyways...All I really have to do is tell my dad that I found the woman I want to marry and I doubt he'll question it much. He'd be too excited. My mothers the same. But im not sure how your parents are gonna react...." He said with a slight sigh. Roshias dad was an intimidating man, and Rowan wasnt ready for what might happen if he wasnt keep on the idea of Rowan marrying his daughter.
Kel was filled with excitement as he prepared for the festival. He had made some of his best summer time themed brews in addition to his traditional brews. He was just finishing up loading his stuff into a large kart that he would be pulling to the festival. Horses were scarce on the floating islands, and larger livestock was expensive to maintain. He shut down early tonight and decided to let Cire sleep inside tonight since he was going to be all alone tomorrow while Kel was out at the festival. He gave Cire extra cuddling and Cire was eating it up. He was purring like crazy and licking Kel all over his face. Kel fell asleep with Cire curled up next to him.
Roshia almost laughed, almost. She tried making her face look not so wet and horrible. "My mother knows, but I don't think she would tell anyone unless I said she could, so I will tell her not to tell my father. I will tell her that it is yours and that we plan to get married before I start to show... tell her what you told me. That we will say the baby just came a couple weeks early. She will understand, though she might wonder how I ended up with the Mayor son." She gave a weak sighed laugh. Roshia still couldn't believe she was in the situation. Her father was going to be... tricky. She knew that she liked the mayor, they met a few times and gotten along well. "Maybe he will see this as a fine business front and when he finds out we are expecting... well he is eight of his own so he must like kids." She whispered, trying to figure everything out before looking at him. "Are you sure about this? This is going to put a dent in your plans and you are too kind of a person to be marrying me." Her voice was soft and her throat was sore from crying.
"Ah so at least we dont need to worry about your mom then....Hopefully your dad will buy into it though...But since your mom already knows about the baby you should probably just be honest about how we met...Well minus the part about your brother of course. "I'm sure my dad will look at it as a great business front as well, seeing as he gets along with your father..." Rowan said as he pulled a hankerchief out of his coat pocket and handed it to her to help dry her face with. " And yes, I am completely sure about all of this. Its not putting a dent in anything, I'll just look forward to taking the little one out with me when he or she is old enough, and theres no one else on this island i'd be more comfortable with spending the rest of my life with...SO dont worry about if i'm "sure" about it, okay? I wouldnt have offered if I wasnt." Rowan flashed Roshia a smile and kissed her forehead.
Roshia nodded and gently took the handkerchief. She dried her face and played with it. He would have a fancy one. She smiled and leaned in when he kissed her forehead. "Thank you, Rowan. You don't know how much that means to me." She sat there in silence for a little while, watching the sun dance on the water. "1. Please don't teach my kid to hid from me in the snow if they turn out as white as you. I can't die this young." She laughed softly, "2. How are we gonna do this wedding? Court house or I don't know, you love planning things, though all this was not...planned. And 3. I really do like your eyes."
Rowan laughed at the first comment about the kid "Hey! OUR kid. Ours. Get that stuck in your pretty little brain!" Rowan said in protest, he laughed a little and then said. "Well I can plan a small wedding in no time at all, you just gotta tell me where youre comfortable having it, and find a dress, and I can take care of the rest." He said looking over a the water, it was getting a little late. "And if youre trying to make me blush, it wont work! Yours, are much more beautiful than mine could ever hope to be."He said with a cheesy grin.
Roshia blushed, "I am so sorry, our baby, yes. Uhm... we can have it right here. It is a pretty setting and I am sure I can steal one of Ameria's dresses. She isn't going to be here for another month." She was getting excited but stopped when she covered her mouth. She had to get it under control until after the wedding. "Our eyes are gorgeous, but...yours is better and you are such a good man. Your father should be proud of that and not what you want to do with your life. He should trust you, I know I do." She took notice of the time, "It is getting late, I will try and find you tomorrow when you are free. Can't wait to see you in all your glory."
"Aww, yeah it is getting late...I'll have to finish up tonights rounds and head to bed if I want to be able to function at all tomorrow...You suuuure you dont wanna come with me?" He spoke, with a tease at the end. "I will see you tomorrow, I should be at the cafe around noon to finish things up with the cafe owner. So meet me there around that time? We can have lunch and then i'll pick you up around five or so to take you to the festival okay?" Rowan kissed her cheek and pulled her into a hug before he left. "Good luck with your mom, I'll tell my dad about the wedding when I get home."
Roshia blushed even more, "Going to your place will be just more trouble, Mister." She smiled as he kissed her cheek. "Sounds like a plan. Thanks, see you tomorrow." Roshia waved him goodbye before leaving to her own home. She needed to talk to her mother as soon as possible.
Elwin smiled, he was going to have to get over it. Atlas wanted to swim, so that is what they were going to do. He grabbed Atlas' hand and lead him to the secret spot him and Roshia would go swim when summer came along and brought the tourist. "It is nothing, I know a place that is a secret. Me and Roshia used to go when we were younger. We hated how the tourist always took up the public part of the beach." He said. When he got to the lake he turned towards the bridge and walked around towards the ruins before turning right. A little ways down there was a pocket of beach. "I guess you could say it is like a private beach." He chuckled.
When they reached the beack Atlas looked at Elwin with a smirk "Good you can repay me fore the coffee while we're here then" He teased before he stripped down to the swim trunks he had on and ran into the water, diving under when it was deep enough. He swam under the water for a little while before popping back up above water. "C'mon slowpoke!" He called out to Elwin as he swam back to a shallower point where the water came up to his waist. "The water is freezing...But its so nice to get out of the heat." He said before splashing water in Elwins direction.
Elwin watched Atlas and looked away. He waited till he was running in the water to strip down to his own swimming trunks. He felt embarrassed and held his braid, practically hiding behind it. He walked in slowly before running back out. "You mean super cold, right?!" He laughed. Taking a deep breath he hurried in and dived, letting the cold water flow around him. If he was under the water that means no one could really see his body. He peeked up from the water to where the top part of his head was out of the water so he could breath. He took his hair out of his braid and let it float around in the water. It looked like fire in the water.
Atlas swam around for a minute while Elwin got undressed. He dove underwater once Elwin had swam far enough in and swam underneath him. Pulling his leg and dragging him under with him. He made a face at Elwin under the water before he swam back up above it. He waited for Elwin to come back up to before saying. "Are you...Hiding from me?" He raised an eyebrow. "Thats just gonna make me curious you know." He shook his head and made a 'tsk' noise. "You dont gotta hide from me, theres nothing to be embarrassed about. " He said as he floated on his back in the water, slowly drifting away a little.
Elwin watched as Atlas dived and tried to figure out where he was going when he went under. He gave a joking glare at him and swam back after him, taking in how tall he was before coming up. "N-No... the water just feels good on my pale skin is all." He said, watching him float by. Elwin gave Atlas a little push making him float away. He took that time to float on his back. "Didn't know bakers could swim, the more you know." He laughed softly.
Atlas laughed at Elwins little joke as he floated along, staring up at the sky. "Ahh Its so nice to get outside, especially when its this nice out." He closed his eyes and kept drifting along. "The past couple of days have been hectic..To say the least" He chuckled and used his arms to paddle back towards Elwin, since the slight current of the water was whisking him farther and farther away. "Its nice to just lay in the water and relax. Especially when theres no one else around making a bunch of noise. Or girls chasing you around" Atlas spoke of his previous encounters at the beach that happened the summer before. "Never again" He shook his head.
Elwin didn't even try to move. He wanted wanted the water to take him. He made agreeing noise. The sun was beating on him. He could fall asleep right there. He could feel something come near him and he opened on eye to see Atlas. "Must be nice to have someone chase after you, unless it is actually chasing." He laughed at the thought of girls actually chaing Atlas around the beach and sunk. He pulled Atlas down in the water as revenge for messing up his float.
Atlas floated right up next to Elwin. "They actually chase me! Its terrifying, theyre like wolves!" He said shortly before getting pulled under the water by Elwin. He smirked and swam forward, pecking Elwin on the lips before quickly swimming away and running onto the shore. "Payback!" He yelled to Elwin when he came up. He did a little shimmy of a victory dance before plopping down into the sand, closing his eyes. A smirk of victory plastered over his face as he laid in the warm sand.
Elwin wasn't expecting the peck on his lips and froze, going up once he couldn't breath. He touched his lips and looked up in time to see him doing a shimmy dance. He laughed shaking his head. Elwin dunked himself in the water, swimming up till he could walk and walked over to where Atlas laid. He sat next to him, looking him over before poking his side. "Don't make me go get those girls, but then I might get jealous. Man this is hard. Torture your or torture you and myself." He squeezed his hair over him, making cold water drip on him.
Atlas was enjoying the warmth of the sand when Elwin came over "No dont get the girls!"He manage to say before Elwin began squeezing his hair out on him, the cold droplets making Atlas roll away. "Gah! So mean to me...And I vote we both get tortured...Unless youre talking about the girls. I'm gonna run away if you sick the girl on me" He said with a laugh, sitting back up in the sand. "I'll sick Biscuit on you if you attack me with girls, I'm warning you now, shes ferocious!" Atlas tried hard to maintain an intimidating face but just couldnt after thinking of his cat trying to attack anything.
Elwin laughed in victory as Atlas rolled away. "What? Does Atlas not like being chased? He has the legs from running. Shock." He tried to laugh evilly. "I am going to say this, Atlas, and you can't be mad... but... I think Biscuit loves me more. Let's be honest." He smiled, leaning back on his elbows and dragging his leg up, taking in the sun. "Now that I know your weakness, I think I can say that I have you right where I want you." He looked over to him and smirked.
"Not by the girls, but you can chase me all day long." Atlas said. He then gave a fake gasp and covered his legs. "Elwin! How indecent, looking over my legs like that. How scandalous!" Atlas joked. He started laughing even more when Elwin spoke about Biscuit. "Probably! She only like me because I feed her!" He laughed. Elwin said that he had Atlas right where he wanted him. Atlas rolled over onto his stomach, propping his head up with one arm, the other hand drawing circles in the sand. He looked up at Elwin. "Oh really? And where exactly would that be?"
Roshia hugged her knees to her chest and rested her forehead on her knees. She didn't feel like going back to town. She didn't want to be around all those people who were happy while she was...suffering? Unsure? Roshia just knew she didn't want to be there. The whole marriage thing might have been too much for her. "Look, kid... I don't think I am made out for this marriage or mother thing. Like... I wasn't planning on ever getting married and having kids. And then out of nowhere I catch feelings and it leads me here. Do I find you a mistake? No, maybe you deserve to be with a mother who knows what the fuck she is going. I mean... I am getting married to a guy I have only known for around three weeks and who may or may not be your father. Who does that?" She spoke out loud. Roshia picked up a rock and threw it. The sound of it hitting a tree echoed. "I don't think I can marry him. This is so embarassing."
"Hmm, right... about..." Elwin leaned in, hovering centimeters away from Atlas' lips before moving away and rolling on his own stomach and smirking. "There... somewhere around there at least. I don't... I think I need a map." He said, winking at him before resting his head on his arms. He was freaking out on the inside. He had no idea what the hell he was doing. If he fucked up well... then he guessed he could take this as a learning experience.
Atlas blushed a little, not being used to Elwin being so bold. Atlas sat back up and put on a pouty face. "You should taunt people Like that Elwin, its not nice...for all you know i could have...Attacked!" Atlas dug his feet into the sand and attempted to playfully pounce on Elwin, but his foot slipped and he ended up face planting in the sand before he made it. Atlas gave up and let himself flop back into the sand giving a groan of defeat.
Elwin let out a big laugh, trying to sit up to help him. "A-Are you... o.... okay? You, " He tried to talk, but instead crawled to him and dusted off his face. Then he looked away trying to control his laugh before coming back and kissing he forehead. "Are you going to be okay, my little map?" He asked, looking down at him.
